Welcome to the Everything Thread for the 83rd Cup of Harmony. A tournament to reward consistent and high-quality roleplay, we're very much pleased to bring you the next edition of the tournament that, in all likelihood, is more than just another trophy. Perhaps you're looking for revenge, after getting dumped out of qualifying. Perhaps you're looking to stake down a marker, and see how much you've improved after qualifying. But most importantly, we're all here to have fun — and we hope we'll be able to bring you said fun.

On Invitations

Invitations are currently being sent out by the two hosts. We have begun sending invitations to teams that were knocked out of the group stages in World Cup qualifying, but this by no means represents the final field — after all, the playoffs for the World Cup are still ongoing, and the there are teams eligible for this competition still participating in that. To confirm an invitation, please do respond to the telegram that has been sent to you. Please try to respond to the invitations as soon as possible — latest by 5 June, as the hosts will need to prepare accordingly.

On Rosters

You are encouraged to post a new roster in this thread, including whatever details you deem necessary; but do take note that should you accept the invitation and then not post a roster, we will use the roster you have posted in the World Cup 91 Roster Thread. We will link to that instead, so that your opponents have something to refer to.

Please make sure you indicate your RP permissions with your roster. Please read and respect the RP permissions of other users, and contact them if you are uncertain of anything. You are strongly encouraged to at least set the "Choose my goalscorers" RP permission to "Yes".

On Style Modifiers

You may post a style modifier with your roster, which goes from negative 5 (most defensive; scoring less, conceding less) to positive 5 (most offensive; scoring more, conceding more). Each user is allowed a maximum of one style mod change throughout the tournament, and the hosts must be notified separately.

On the Format

With 56 confirmed participants, we will have an 8*7 group stage format, with 7 nations per group. The top four nations from each group will proceed to the knockout rounds. Within each "rank", nations will be seeded in accordance to their performance in their group. (This means that group winners will be seeded 1-8, group runners-up will be seeded 9-16, etc.) The knockouts will proceed in a single-elimination tournament, with a round of 32 being the first knockout round, and so on.

The tie-breakers used will be Points, Goal Difference, H2H points, H2H goal difference, coinflip (OOC: a scorinated game with RP bonus only, without any rank). Group re-matches will be avoided for seeding to the second round.

On Cut-offs and the Schedule

Both hosts' cutoff windows will be from 1600-1700 UTC.

Cut-off for responses: 0600 UTC, 5 June 2022

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF TUMBRA
cordially welcomes you

LOCATED in central Esportiva, the Federal Republic of Tumbra is a sprawling, modern democratic republic of a hundred and fourteen million people. Comprising twenty-five states, the Cup of Harmony will be played in fifteen stadiums spread across twelve states; allocated as such to minimise the need for travel time. A full map of the country can be found here.

Airports, Getting To and Travelling Within Tumbra

The tournament will be played largely in the east and south of the country. Wirth the tournament taking place in summer, the weather is expected to be warmer, owing to the warm ocean currents of the South and East Tumbra Sea. Yet, temperatures during the tournament are expected to reach only a high of a breezy 25 degrees Celsius, and warm rains are not out of the possibility, either. The sparkling, white-sanded beaches of the south coast also offer a dazzling tourist spot if you wish to just relax.

Getting to Tumbra would usually entail taking a plane from an airport; the best airports to land at would be probably closest to the base camp in the city that you choose. Due to political upheaval and an ongoing pacification effort in the north of the country, you are recommended to not set up base there. Tumbra has ten international airports, all of which can handle international flights. To get to destinations not provided by airport, high-speed rail that travels up to about 320km/h within the country offers transport to all cities hosting a match, ensuring comfort, speed and reliability to get your players to their matches on time. Within cities, most cities have at least some form of mass rapid transit or light rail that forms the basis of their transport system.

Should you still wish to travel by car, Tumbra uses left-hand drive, and verifiable international licenses are a prerequisite to hire a car. Expressways to each of the major cities do exist, though...trains also exist...and are faster...

IF your nation comes from Esportiva, Tumbra can be reached within four to six hours' flight; if it comes from the regions of Anaia, Atlantian Oceania or Rushmore, then Tumbra can be reached from anywhere from six to twelve hours' flight; and for countries from outside that area, then flights to Tumbra will take twelve hours or more.

All visitors with a valid ticket will be given a visa; for those attending multiple matches, the visa will be extended accordingly. Tickets will be apportioned fairly; 40% to each team, and 10% will be sold to Tumbrans, with the remaining 10% to others. Ticket scalping is, of course, illegal; should one come across such an act of ticket scalping, then call 999 (the number for the Police in Tumbra).

Culture and Laws
The policing in each state is run by the state governments, though they are all run to a unified federal code, which standardises most equipment and techniques. Federal laws will apply here; some of the more important ones are...

  • The age to buy alcohol and tobacco is set at 18 years.
  • The age of consent is 18 years. Prostitution is legal.
  • The status of marijuana, confusingly for Tumbra, is vague and depends on the state. The usage of medical marijuana is legalised throughout all states.
  • The importation of alcohol and tobacco is illegal without declaration; and there are strict limits on the amount. Importation of marijuana is illegal; the same goes for other hard drugs.
  • There is a blanket ban on assault weapons in Tumbra, and no importation is allowed.

The currency of Tumbra is the Tumbran Dollar, with the exchange rate being set at 1 NSD to 1.33 TMD. There is a ten per cent consumption tax on all items; usually it is factored into the price of the item.

Should there be any other questions, please contact VisitTumbra.com.

STADIUMS

GROUP A: Serrapince, Bechor, Couno

Serrapince Park, Serrapince, Bechor (74,500)
The distinctive yellow pylons provide this stadium with its exterior. Completed in the 1970s as the capstone of Serrapince's project to monopolise the football market in the area, it now provides one of the most intimidating atmospheres in Tumbran football, with the northern stand being home to Serrapince's "ultras". Located in a giant athletics and sporting complex, Serrapince Park forms the main part of the sporting district of the city; and remains the focal point of the club's attempts to dominate the Tumbran football scene.

Oceanside Park, Marray, Bechor (44,000)
The sand dunes of Marray and its inviting beaches play host to the Oceanside Stadium, with its marine-themed exterior; white and blue are the main colours here, while the dolphin is the main motif. Located in a bustling port city, Marray are not having the best of times with their football club; but there's no denying the scenery here is excellent, and as Bechor's second city, there's no question they would be given a berth to host games in the Cup of Harmony.

Couno Port Stadium, Couno, Napier (54,500)
Couno is the biggest city in Tumbra; with a long history of seafaring, trade, fishing, heavy industry and almost everything, it's a metropolis onto itself, and the Couno Port Stadium forms part of the Couno skyline by itself. Located on a wharf, the stadium itself was recently reconstructed in 2016, which expanded its capacity to the 54,500 it is today. Home to the Couno Rangers, with one of the most passionate supporter fanbases in Tumbra, the unique location on the harbourfront provides a unique opportunity for many a football fan.

GROUP B: Lakewood, Hesham

Trenton Park, Lakewood, Severn (74,500)
Trenton Park is home to Lakewood United, historically the most successful team in Tumbra. A massive colosseum, its differently shaped ends do make it look a bit dated, but gives it a lot of its charm. The acoustics here are also excellent, adding to the atmosphere here at Trenton Park.

Lakewood City Arena, Lakewood, Severn (58,000)
Home to Lakewood United's rivals Lakewood City, the LCA was a more modern construction; only being completed in 2005. It, therefore, looks nicer than Trenton Park; but the diatribes launched against it say that it's a soulless atmosphere. Supports of City point to their attendance records and recent success. It is equipped with all the comforts of a modern stadium, really; and it's located closer to Lakewood's city centre than Trenton Park.

George Bowen Stadium, Hesham, Clearmont (40,000)
Named after Hesham FC's longest-serving manager who delivered the club its only title and later saved the club from bankruptcy, the Ploughmen's arena with its distinctive bright green seats is a more rectangular effort. Distinctive for its bright green pylons that run along the outside of the stadium, it's a bit denser than most stadiums - only having one tier throughout it.

GROUP C: Columbia, Kingsbury, Bencoolen

Columbus Field, Columbia, Alexandria (49,000)
Quite why the Southerners, in a city of about 300,000, have an ultra-modern, double-deck stadium of nearly 50,000, is a mystery to many; until they pull back the curtain on who actually owns the 49% of Columbia City Football Club; property magnate Charles Goulding. There's no doubt about the impressiveness of this stadium, and its massive capacity; though with the number of people actually in Columbia itself, it plays to about 75% capacity more often than not.

Fletcher Park, Kingsbury, Georgia (45,000)
The home ground of nine-time Tumbran champions Kingsbury, the stadium has recently been expanded to fit 45,000 people. This is the latest in the long line of rebuilds, going from a bowl-shaped stadium in a natural valley to a much smaller, almost entirely white stadium with a curving roof; instantly giving the stadium a recognisable facade.

Bencoolen City Stadium, Bencoolen, Bencoolen (55,000)
The smallest of all of Tumbra's twenty-five states, Bencoolen's stadium also includes an athletics track; which, unfortunately, puts distance between the supporters and the players on the pitch. There have, however, been plans mooted to install temporary seating for football matches; though with Tumbra's multiversal sporting ambitions, this may come later, rather than sooner, and if at all.

GROUP D: Nantwich, Clark, Readale

Nantwich Stadium, Nantwich, Finnley (64,000)
Widely renowned for the four helical ramps around each side of the edifice and imposing roof structure with black girders jutting out on each end, the Nantwich Stadium is home to FC Inter Nantwich; and is an imposing home to one of the league's strongest teams. With its four sides rising high above the players, the stands can almost feel like they're closing in on the players. An imposing mental challenge, indeed.

Clark City Arena, Clark, Finnley (63,000)
Known for its faux-neoclassical columns adorning its outside surface, the Clark City Arena - referred to as the Colosseum, colloquially, is a unique experience for most visitors. With the pitch itself set below the stadium, the shadow of the stadium's main building makes games in this open-air arena cooler than it is, providing a better matchday experience for most people.

ReadaleArena, Readale, Gamaliel (45,000)
It's somewhat new, not that well-liked, and Readale can't fill it out - that's the story of the expensively-constructed ReadaleArena, opened in 2006 to much fanfare. Twenty years on, Readale have dropped to the third division, and struggle to sell enough seats. It was one of the first of the "modern" brand of stadiums; a circular stadium shape, technological comforts and all that jazz. It also has been twenty years since it was built, though, and with money thin on the ground, much of those innovations now look dated. Still, though, it's decent enough to host international-standard matches.

Welcome to Mertagne!

Mertagne is a sprawling modern nation of approximately 66 million people, located on the continent of [Nova] Calania, in the region of Anaia. Chock full of neighbours, ranging from a sea border with the Reiss Islands of Kotzellach, through the fortress-like mountains that mark its border with nations such as Huayramarca, to the sprawling fields that mark its border with Starblaydia, Mertagne is a nation that is firm in its location in the multiverse. Mertagne is a nation of varied extremes: from its settlements, which range from spawling urban agglomerations to rugged barebones frontier towns and trailer parks, to its people, some loud and outgoing while others are more shy and reserved. One current runs through the entire Mertagnian populace, reagrdless of its origin, and that is perseverance - through thick and thin, Mertagnians are united in their ability to weather a storm, physical or metaphorical. The teams arriving to Mertagne will need to emulate that hardiness and perseverance if they are to succeed and escape one of the most competitive tournaments that Mertagne has hosted since World Cup 75*.
*Mertagne was an IC host of Group D of the 75th World Cup.

History
You've probably heard the story over fifty times now, from a litany of sources, be they Euran, Hinodejin, or Mertagnian themselves. Mertagne is a successor state of the Former Inevitable Syndicate (now known as the Euran Oceania Territories), after the events of a terrible war perpetrated by the group known as Corvidae. A group of refugees and rebels from the conflict were, with the help of the nations of the region and Eura, relocated across the Bekk to the abandoned city state of Leorudo, which was consequently renamed Neorudo and deigned the nation's first capital. On a wave of foreign investment, the nation enjoyed a boom period as it built vital infrastructure and expanded into abandoned territory designated to it by intra-national organisations.
However, this investment eventually waned, and Mertagne had to go it alone. A shaky government, weak when faced against international corporations, collapsed and took an isolationist stance for many years, in a period of time known as the Insulation. In the wake of the Foxchester Declaration, Mertagne reorganised its government and took to the international stage once again, quickly becoming a key member of regional affairs due to its proximity to the regional heavyweights of Krytenia and Starblaydia.

Today, Mertagne stands shakily yet proud as an example of the success that can come from collaboration. Democracy and patriotism are sacrosanct to the average Mertagnian citizen, as is the concept of international camaraderie and friendship - as evidenced in it being one of the founding members of the Anaia movement.

Tourism & Transportation
Mertagne is only just getting to grips with the idea that people might want to visit the country for a reason other than coming to work, or coming to start a family. As such, its tourism industry is still growing, and perhaps not as advanced as you may find in other parts of the multiverse. The nation has several landmarks, including the Vessel of Victory, a large, copper statue of a ship that can be found in the bay to the north of the city of Keers, and the Road of Remembrance, a winding path that runs across the hill crest of the Veritas Valley, the largest valley in the Forkelands province to the north of Neorudo, which is lined with grave markers denoting the names of every allied civilian and combatant that lost their lives in the Corvidae War.

Transportation around Mertagne is primarily done by car, as the nation's high-speed rail infrastructure is present, yet scarcely interconnected. The Trans-Calanian railway runs through the centre of the nation, and is the backbone of the nation's rail infrastructure, but its international status means that domestic trains are often given lower priority than the rolling stocks of cargo, and are often slower. Coaches are your best bet for provincial scale travel, and routes between major cities are commonplace. Mertagne, like its neighbours, drives on the left side of the road, and its road network is also fully connected with Krytenia and Starblaydia. Ferry services are available to the Reiss Islands from Keers, and Ostosaide is commonly dotted with cruise ships on its docks as a travel hub. It is likely that nationals who live far away from Mertagne will arrive into the nation from one of two airports - Neorudo AquAirport, in the south of the nation, and Dannin International Airport, located just outside the capital.

Culture
Life in Mertagne, like anywhere on a large enough scale, varies depending on where you are. The cultures that make up the nation have often seen their genesis in other nations, so it is likely you'll be able to find the usual creature comforts you'd expect from other nations in the nation's large urban areas, such as good food. If you look hard enough, you're sure to find anything, even pìzzâpìzzâ made fresh from a family with Rulandese heritage.

The system of government has recently changed in Mertagne, after a successful referendum on adopting a new form of government based on the deliberations of the 'Mertagnian Assembly'. Many are still against the new form of government, claiming it takes away too much power from Mertagne's nineteen provinces, so expect a little civil unrest in the form of protests if you stray too far from the capital, Dannin.

As far as laws are concerned, expect the following across the nation:
- The age to buy alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana is 18 years.
- Tobacco and marijuana products such as cigarettes and e-cigarettes cannot be consumed in public areas. Bars are permitted to designate a smoking area, however many of these are an afterthought from the proprietors, so expect a dingy lean-to more than a lavish garden.
- Other drugs are permitted, and are sold publicly in specialist stores. However, purchasing limits are federally mandated, and a background check must be completed before you are permitted a 'narcotics license' (which is a subject of much ridicule among foreign nations). This hasn't stopped a black market from occurring, however, and the import of drugs does occur. The possession of drugs in trace amounts without a narcotics license is decriminalised in real terms if you are over the age of majority.
- The majority age of consent between adults is 18 years. Prostitution is legal for those above the age of 18, but not regularly publicised - much of the marketing for that sort of thing is performed over the internet or as graffiti in a bar toilet or phone booth.
- Mertagnian citizens are allowed to purchase weapons for personal use, however the category of weapon an individual is able to purchase varies wildly depending on the province, with rural provinces typically allowing larger weapons and open carrying. Ammunition is regulated, with a similar system to the narcotics quota in place in Mertagne's weapons shops. A pervasive culture regarding guns as dangerous tools for hunting has meant that firearms are rarely adopted in more 'civilised' areas, such as the nation's major cities.

Mertagne's currency is the Mertagnian Ducat, which has an exchange rate of approximately 1 NSD to 5 MDU. Sales tax varies on province, but is always included on the price of the item on the shelf.

More information surrounding Mertagne is available in its factbook (but this is yet to reflect the change in government structure), and a map can be found here.

Stadium Information
Image
Mertagne's top fifteen stadiums, many of which will see play in this Cup of Harmony

The FMF has spread its four groups across the nation, and Mertagnians are abuzz with excitement to see your teams play. For any given matchday, the first game will be played in the first stadium listed, the second game in the second stadium, and the third game in the third stadium. Teams with a bye will be treated with entry to a tourist attraction, or a spa day, whichever they prefer.

GROUP E: CENTRAL MERTAGNE
Dannin City Stadium, Dannin, Dannmarsh (Capacity: 85,750)
Dannin City Stadium sits in the heart of Mertagne's capital, and its unique look ensures that it's both an art piece, a functional stadium, and an eco-friendly statement all at once due to it's assortment of solar panels, which wax and wane with the passing of the sun. Home to top-tier domestic team Century Mertagne, the patriotic lime and dark green seating is sure to excite any nation that comes to play here in the most television friendly of the stadiums that Mertagne has to offer.

Spectrum Stadium, Dannin, Dannmarsh (Capacity: 37,000)
The Spectrum Stadium is a cavalcade of lights and sound, and this modern stadium decked in red and blue is home to bombastic side Signal Dannin. The stadium is littered with LED panels and large screens, ensuring that the stadium's very own fleet of camera drones is able to capture every moment of the game, from the beads of sweat on your goalkeeper as the opposition lines up for a penalty to the cheeky elbow that players of home side Signal Dannin are prone to whipping out against cocky opponents.

Crater Field, Claviers, Harridan (Capacity: 25,890)
Crater Field was designed and constructed by a textile factory during the Insulation, for local club CfFi Claviers. The factory, still operational, can be seen at the the top of the circular ridge that Crater Field sits beneath, in a naturally low area of the rugged province of Harridan in which Claviers sits. The large town is undergoing a bit of a gentrification project at the moment, and cute new places keep on popping up, adding vital services to a town that many of the nation's city folk would describe as 'barren', if they knew where it was. Claviers, however, crops up firmly in the minds of Mertagne's elite, as it is well known that an exclusive nightclub can be found within the town, but every member is sworn to secrecy regarding the location of its entrance.

GROUP F: EASTERN MERTAGNE
Flynn Ar3na, New Fligsive, Plitterland (Capacity: 88,750)
A project that could be considered the crucible of New Fligsive, Mertagne, the Flynn Ar3na (named as it is the third stadium to bear the name) was built as a multi-year construction project between regional construction giant Flynn’s, and the Mertagnian government. The Flynn Ar3na boasts a unique design that iterates on the design of its predecessor, the Flynn Arena in Fligsive, Euran Oceania Territories. This incarnation of the stadium has sacrificed some of its seats in order to incorporate a unique art section - where the old Flynn Arena’s upper ring would have been, here instead sit thousands of individually cast faceless metal statues, each inscribed with a names of Fligsivi civilians and combatants during the Corvidae War and associated Fligsive Incident. The unique acoustics that these metal statues cause in the upper ring creates a scintillating echoing effect when sound is broadcast from the top, which provides unique opportunities in this multi-purpose stadium, home to club side New Fligsive’s Memory. It is said that sometimes, the statues create the echo of a crowd lost to time.

Nine Star Arch, Webster, The Forkelands (Capacity: 66,500)
The nine large spotlights that adorn the Nine Star Arch’s titular arch have many uses; two of them during games played at this stadium are to spin and provide a light show whenever a team scores, and to provide those living in and around the city of Webster with a live score graphic, with a number of lights on opposing ends of the arch lit with the corresponding team’s home colour depending on how many goals they have scored. Many teams that play here have the dream to 'capture the arch', which is achieved by scoring more than five goals in a game, so that a majority of the nine lights on the arch are in your team's colours. No international team has yet to do this in WCC play - will your team be the first?

New Brazier Stadium, Scharfwick, Keld (Capacity: 26,430)
The stadium in the city of Scharfwick is owned and operated by Scharfwick Flames, and in an attempt to pull in the punters, the stadium boasts several flumes in which fire is shot into the sky whenever a team scores a goal. The flames are often coloured, to the expense of the holding company that owns the stadium, and they've been in a bit of trouble recently with environmental groups after a study claimed that people living downwind of the stadium had lower life expectancies than those that didn't. However, if you're looking for a solid football ground with some spectacle, this is the ground for you.

GROUP G: NORTHERN MERTAGNE
The Ring Tank Stadium, Ostosaide, Besny (Capacity, 54,000)
Located in Ostosaide, this stadium is home to Octosaide, and as the name suggests, boasts the region's largest enclosed aquarium on the outside of the stadium. Large enough for sea creatures of all types to enjoy their lives, the aquarium is carefully maintained by a complex climate control system, which has recently been upgraded in an effort to avoid promoting the growth of a thick green algae that had previously covered the stadium. Visitors to the stadium can view the aquatic flora and fauna from two angles - outside the stadium, with binoculars at regular viewing points around it, or from the inside at the Ring Tank Aquatic Viewing Centre. The pitch, located inside and away from the view of the aquarium, is well kept and its 54,000 seats are coloured in the blue and yellow of the local side.

Keers Dock Pitch, Keers, Plitterland (Capacity: 68,750)
The Keers Dock Pitch has stands on three sides only, with the north side exposed to the coast and waters of the Grinshem Sea, which sits to Mertagne's north. Keers Kannoneers, of which the stadium's yellow and white seating commemorates, are known for having a betting pool amongst their players as to when the next ball is going to be punted by an opponent out of the stadium and into the ocean, with the added bonus and complexity of a series of large floating navigational buoys on the waterfront with point values painted on them. The nearby beach at Keers is regularly visited by children in the hours after a match, to search for these lost footballs. Finding one bobbing on the ocean currents usually means you have to have a kickabout with the other children. Just watch for seagulls - if your white seat at this stadium doesn't quite match a pattern with the seats around it, you now know why...

Spire Campus, Blackave, Hebra (Capacity: 21,020)
Spire Campus is the collective name for not one but four football pitches at Black Peak University, in Blackave, one of Mertagne's highest towns by elevation. The campus, constructed using funds from the Mertagnian government, has been designed to fit in with the university's rustic aesthetic. Large, gothic murals adorn much of the main stands, designed by art students from the university which contrasts with the modern interior which was designed by a similar, but slightly more unhinged group of art students. A block of student housing is found opposite one of the pitches, which is regularly inhabited by Sports Science students and those that love the game, and are often found watching matches from their balconies. The party atmosphere generated by the university's students deeply contrasts with the stern, conservative members of the faculty and the local residents, which creates a unique conflict melting pot with many sides for your players and sports fans to engage with.

GROUP H: SOUTHERN MERTAGNE
Cop Limy Stadium, Neorudo, Dannmarsh (Capacity: 96,300)
The Cop Limy is an iconic stadium, formerly belonging to the city-state of Leorudo in which Mertagne was first settled long after the exodus of its former owners. Home to the original Mertagnian club side that is Lehen Neorudo, and situated in the Docklands district adjacent to the mountain that comprises of the sprawling city's 'Old Quarter', The Cop Limy is the premier venue for sports matches and concerts alike in the city. Upgraded several times over the years, the Stadium stands as a stereotype of the city itself - old architecture (present in the fancy stonework adorning the stadium's left long side) fused with the latest building styles (a white carbon fiber donut covering the other three sides, that can be lit in a variety of colours). The stadium boasts the best in electronic scoreboard technology, and has a single long strip of interactive screens surrounding the top rafters of the interior, which have been used for purposes such as advertising, light shows, and close-up camera feeds.
Located in the stadium complex is a museum dedicated to Mertagnian football, which includes the preserved former offices of the FMF, including the very boardroom where the historic COCANEFA LigAnaia was born.

Origas Arena, Kurtz, Touchpoint (Capacity: 52,000)
The corporately sponsored Origas Arena is home to successful Mertagnian side Kurtz Herritik, a favourite of Kurtz-born Orion Garstern Jr., who owns the stadium, but not the team. This divergence in interest has been a hot button issue for the fans of the Heretics, but tensions seem to remain at a simmer, as Garstern Jr. owns a controlling stake in Chromatik Orange League club Flames of the West. As his eyes are elsewhere, the Origas Arena has certainly seen better days, with its now ageing wooden construction looking a bit lacklustre even after a fresh coat of paint. The atmosphere at this stadium is a rare find, however, as the public of the now bustling city of Kurtz are die-hard football fans, and will certainly fill the stands in the event that your team's fans cannot.

Il Tendone, Papillio, Hardcastle (Capacity: 39,500)
Il Tendone consistently ranks within the top five whenever an article about "The Top X Weirdest Football Stadiums" makes its way around the multiverse. This one won't shock you in the way that some stadiums will, but its unique construction quirk is that the entire stadium is designed to be taken down at the drop of a hat, resembling the type of construction you would see at a large circus. Using the best flat-pack technology with some incomprehensible name you'd find in an ancient Græntfjaller ritual, the 'Big Top', as it is affectionately nicknamed, has often been described as a large orange eyesore that could be construed as a blight on the local community. If ever that happened, though, they'd just pack up and move somewhere else.

OTHER STADIUMS
Revolver Stadium, Cyanaes, Wesaxe (Capacity: 34,570)
Home to Krytenian inspired Mertagne side Six Star Cyanaes, in the city of Cyanaes, Mertagne's southern region of Wesaxe, on the border with Krytenia, is home to slightly warmer weather, and the Revolver Stadium is a nice open-air venue that has a distinctive 'bowl' shape, With two protruded sections coming off of the western end, making it look like a rounded 'A' from above. These protrusions host local businesses, offices and retail outlets, allowing you to enjoy leisure experiences all in one place. Mercia Plaza, which sits between the protrusions and welcomes guests to the stadium, is the perfect place to sit and relax before your game begins. Nobody can agree on what the 'A' stands for, however. Some claim it's for Argental, but others claim it stands for what the Mertagnians truly think of Krytenia...

Eiger Park, Basterra, Freskovia (Capacity: 44,260)
Basterra is home to a large Audioslavian diaspora, because during Mertagne's founding, it was a rugged, unwieldly area that needed a folk equally as hardy to go and attack it. Basterra fell out, and with it, Eiger Park, named affectionately after one of Audioslavia's top goalscorers, a talisman for the Bulls back in the 60s, and whatever the opposite of a talisman was for the folk of the Calanian Union in the same time period. The Claret & Green design of the stadium is almost enough to make you think you're over in the Audioslavia of several decades ago.

Roster Info
During qualifying, it's unlikely that this supposed strongest eleven will take the field together due to injuries, suspensions, or the manager just plain preferring other players, etc, so feel free to chop and change as much as you like.
  • Formation: 4-6-0
  • Style Modifier: -5

Potted history
  • Audioslavia reached the finals of World Cups 12, 19, 20 and 29, losing all of them and gaining a reputation as a team that chokes.
  • After thirty cycles away, Audioslavia won the Baptism of Fire before World Cup 59, won the AOCAF Cup in cycle 60 and then won back-to-back World Cups in cycles 63 and 64. That's the golden generation right there.
  • Since then, the side regained their status as chokers, losing in a few major finals, including World Cups 67, 69 and 76.
  • After winning the AOCAF Cup before cycle 88, Audioslavia left Atlantian Oceania to join the new region of Anaia.
  • Since joining Anaia, the side arrested a run of poor showings in the World Cup, reaching the semi-finals on two occasions.
  • This is the fifth time Audioslavia have failed to at least make the playoffs in qualifying. Aside from the comeback over cycles 59-62, the side had always made at least the playoffs.
  • Audioslavia are the reigning champions of Anaia's CAFA Cup

Style of Play
  • Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously.
  • Kontrapuntzeka is another word for it. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do have it.
  • Audioslavian footballers tend to be on the leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
  • Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious and resistant, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
  • Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be.
  • As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts.
  • Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play. They're the classic bully. When things don't pan out as they expect, they retreat physically and mentally.
  • The Audioslavian media feel the team are too good to be playing in the Cup of Harmony. They are wrong.

This team
  • Archer Flat is impossibly pale, very ginger, has an ugly scar on his face and basically looks like a cartoon villain. He is all that is wrong with the world.
  • Flat's defensive partner, Obadele Volonte, is Flat's polar opposite. Tall, cool, calm. Wins balls through good positioning rather than murder, etc.
  • Having failed to find a replacement for retired striker Koenraad Rijsbergen, RJ Styrn has decided to go striker-less for the tournament. Attacking midfielder Helios Roy, who can also play up front if needed, has been given the number nine shirt.
  • This is a young Bulls side that is either untested, or failed the only test they ever had at the top level. It is redemption or oblivion for many young careers.

Team Cassadaigua- Cup of Harmony 83

(everything remains the same because the roster wouldn't have changed if we qualified for the World Cup like usual, so the logic is no different here).

Coach- Brittany Byers (56)
With Stephanie Sweeney now serving as the President of CASE, a new manager was needed for the Fillies for the first time since our return. Byers was the logical choice, since she had often been the backup national team manager, anyway. Has coached in the Copa Rushmori on multiple occasions, and was an assistant to Sweeney in World Cup 87, before being named the manager of the team prior to World Cup 88. Since that point, the results have been positive, so Brittany continues in this position for #91. Sure, there are some nations who would see a coach like this, and look at the recent run of Round of 16 exits and think that a change should be made, but CASE has never been like that. Byers is still the right person for the job. She scored her biggest coaching success recently when Cassadaigua won Copa Rushmori 40. As a player, the ex-defender played in World Cups 78 and 79, and was the captain of those teams. Also led Brattleboro FC to a national championship during her tenure there, but she no longer manages at the domestic level to focus on the national team.

Assistant- Hannah Shanley (Starksville United) (46)
Starting defender from World Cups 80-83, and then served as a regular substitute in World Cup 84. Has served in this role since World Cup 85, and that includes while she was still active as a player for a little while. Some are beginning to think that Shanley might be a little too focused on the national team, given Starksville United’s struggles of late.

Starters in Green
Subs in Blue
Reserves in Red

Goalkeepers:
#31- Cynthia Kerr (27) (Victoriaville South End)- Starter WC 90, CR 40; Sub CR 38 & 39, Reserve WC 89, CR 37, Starter DBC 49
#30- Katie Schnapper (30) (Concord Heights Suburban)- Starter CR 38 & 39, Sub WC 88-90, CR 36, 37 & 40, Starter DBC 48
#20- Stacie Thornton (24) (New Lakeland Soccer Club)- Reserve WC 90 & CR 40, Sub DBC 51

This is the same threesome as World Cup 90, in the same roles, so you might be thinking it is more of the same for Team Cassadaigua in World Cup 91. Well, it is but it isn’t. In World Cup 90, all three of these goalkeepers got steady playing time as starters as Brittany Byers felt that they all deserved that kind of playing time. That is not going to happen in World Cup 91. The job is Cynthia Kerr’s. She has continued to play well, and was instrumental in the Fillies winning Copa Rushmori 40. There will be occasions where Byers may decide to play Schnapper or possibly Thornton, but Cynthia Kerr being in goal for pretty much every game is anticipated as long as she stays healthy. Some in Cassadaigua would have wanted Stacie Thornton to be ready for a starting role now, but that has not really happened. Some would have liked to have seen Rachel Clarrett, of White Mountain, get a chance here over Thornton, feeling that Thornton benefitted in the decision to still be on the national team due to playing for a bigger market team.

Defenders:
#4- Brianna Ward (25) (Victoriaville South End)- Starter CR 40 & DBC 51, Sub CR 39
#2- Madison Rutland (23) (Starksville Coastal)- Starter CR 40, DBC 51 & 52
#3- Summer Speers (33) (Felswyr, Chromatika)- Starter CR37 & 38, Reserve DBC 47, CR 35 & 36, WC 86, 87, 89, & 90, Sub WC 88
#6- Caitlyn Kaleta (29) (Brattleboro FC)- Starter WC 88-90, DBC 49 & CR 37-40

#29- Amber Hogan (23) (Brattleboro FC)- Starter CR 40 & DBC 52, Reserve DBC 51
#32- Tara Keane (28) (Victoriaville City)- Sub DBC 49 & CR 39, Reserve CR 37-38, WC 89 & 90

#21- Shannon McCausland (27) (Winchester City)- Starter CR 39, Sub WC 90 & CR 40, Reserve CR 38, WC 89
#24- Sarah Bayne (29) (Brattleboro Westside)- Starter DBC 49, CR 37-39; Sub WC 89-90 & CR 40, Reserve WC 88

There are changes here, with two of the four starters from the World Cup 90 team no longer playing at the international level. One of them is former captain Michelle Graves, who is now 34, and still active with Victoriaville City but not quite able to play at this level now. Reportedly, Byers offered Graves a reserve spot, but Michelle turned it down. Sierra Swift also does not return. Filling their roles are Brianna Ward and Madison Rutland, two younger players who absolutely thrived as starters in the Copa Rushmori 40 title. After winning that, you just knew that they were going to be given a great opportunity here. Now, they are starters. Ward brings a high physical element to the game. Not quite Lupe Enriquez level, but something that the Fillies could have used a little more of in recent World Cups. Madison Rutland, too, likes that role, but not quite as much. Shannon McCausland posted on twii’tur that she was upset about not getting a chance to start in the Copa Rushmori, and you have to wonder if that post led to her downgrade here.

Midfielders:
#9- Morgan Rosenblatt (30) (AFC Treson, Nephara)- Starter WC 87-90, DBC 48 & 49, CR 36-39 (TEAM CAPTAIN)
#25- Kelsey Werth (23) (Carthage United)- Starter CR 40, DBC 52; Sub DBC 51
#36- Tara Kriedel (29) (Shearwater, Kelssek)- Sub WC 90, Reserve WC 88, 89 & CR 38, Starter DBC 49 & CR 39, 40
#8- Krystal Sherwin (25) (Brattleboro Westside)- Starter WC 90, DBC 51, CR 39 & 40

#38- Emily Doran (24) (North Granby)- Sub CR 40 & DBC 51, Reserve CR 39
#37- Sarah Giles (33) (Brattleboro Westside)- Reserve WC 86-89; Starter DBC 47, Sub WC 90, CR 36, 39 & 40, Reserve CR 35 & 38

#35- Allison Rice (29) (Victoriaville South End)- Starter WC 90 & CR 39, Sub WC 87-89 & CR 37-38, Starter DBC 49
#39- Kaylee Carraway (25) (Victoriaville South End)- Reserve WC 90 & CR 40

In World Cup 90, you would have not have anticipated a lot of turnover for World Cup 91, so there are a couple of surprising changes. But first, we’ll start with what stays the same, and that would be Morgan Rosenblatt, who has simply done everything that she has been asked to do at the international level. Morgan has had a great career with AFC Treason, and playing at that level of club football has made her cool under pressure with the international team. She will be the captain for the first time here, and that was probably an easy choice. The other returnee is Krystal Sherwin. The best way to describe Krystal is that she is the type of player who’s not going to lead the club in goals but quietly finds her name on the scoresheet more often than you would think. Kelsey Werth is coming off a great Copa Rushmori, and Emily Doran has forced the acceleration of her career path with great play. Tara Kriedel is a steady producer. This led to Allison Rice falling on the depth chart, as several bypass her. World Cup 90 starter Danielle Porter was surprisingly (to some) bypassed off this roster.

Forwards:
#12- Jenna Frontiera (29) (Brattleboro FC)- Starter WC 88-90, CR 38 & 39; Sub DBC 49, Reserve CR 37
#23- Bayley Stanton (29) (Concord Heights City)- Starter WC 90, DBC 47 & CR 38, Reserve WC 88 & 89, CR 36 & 37, Sub CR 39

#19- Chloe Anderson (22) (Montreal Koreana, Quebec)- Starter CR 40 & DBC 51, Wub WC 90
#26- Rachel Boldin (22) (Victoriaville South End)- Starter CR 40 & DBC 51, Sub WC 90

#27- Allyson Perry (21) (Winchester City)- Starter DBC 52
#44- Carly Patterson (22) (Grande Mountain)- Starter DBC 52)

There is no surprise that Jenna Frontiera is back in the starting role here. She opted out of the Copa Rushmori to deal with personal issues that you will probably hear talked about over the course of qualifying. She also wants to redeem herself a little bit, because if you recall she struggled in qualifying for World Cup 90, though picked it up in the World Cup. There was question as to whether or not Anderson or Boldin would bypass Bayley Stanton, but Bayley erased any thoughts of that after a great season with Concord Heights City. Expect to see Anderson and Boldin get significant playing time, and you can be certain that at least one of them will be substituted into a game. One of the things Byers likes to do late in a game is enter in either of them for midfielder Tara Kriedel as opposed to taking out either Frontiera or Stanton. A couple of other young players get the chance to serve as reserves as veterans Madison McClain and Loreen Hazen move on.

The Representatives are a team of amateur players from the Delte Valley area of a largely empty corner of the North Pacific region. There is a national shortage of graphic designers along the River Delte, with the one professional - young Slim Dyndeling, who plays football for Ughmirren FC in the Delte Valley Tuesday Evening & Sunday Lunchtime Super League - failing to win selection for the representative team and refusing to help out with natty team graphics.

The Delte Valley Tuesday Evening & Sunday Lunchtime Super League is the principle men's 11-a-side league and The Representatives are a men's team; women's football along the river is primarily under the auspices of the Friday Night & Saturday Morning Ultra Premier League, a six-a-side highly technical fútsal code. The women of the Delte prefer not to engage in silly games of 22.

(C) Captain / (VC) Vice Captain

If you RP first feel free to select anyone from the squad for our matches, I don't mind.

The Deltic people are a stoic bunch, and the team plays in this style - not over emotional, not flashy, not given to wild celebration or remonstrating with referees, not diving or faking injuries. They shake hands when they score goals and pat each other on the back in encouragement when they concede them. Matches might be high scoring as they prefer an attacking formation but off the ball it's all rather pedestrian. They're not much use for post-match interviews.

About The Representatives
& Deltic football in general

Delte is a narrow populated strip of fertile river valley approximately fifteen kilometres wide and ninety long, along the length of the course of the River Delte, located in a wild, largely empty and unnamed region and isolated from the nearest geopolitical entities and populous distant communities at the far corners of the cartographer’s charts, save for transportation routes - rail and road - which pass through the valley on the way from one significant populated centre to another, hardly without stopping. The population of the whole valley is about 48,000 people.

A combined management committee formed of members of the Delte Valley Tuesday Evening & Sunday Lunchtime Super League and the Friday Night & Saturday Morning Ultra Premier League represents the de facto authority for the sport and identifies as the All-Week Super Ultra Premier Football Association, or simply the FA, and employs one full time administrator/chief executive, Issenda Tenning (plus her PA, Oughar Sule). Issenda is a canny CEO who encouraged 'multi-task selection' which approximately means that some players were picked more for the additional skills they could bring to the squad; for example, Dr. Orem Ustingham is probably not the very best winger in the Super League but he is definitely the most highly qualified doctor (Slim Dyndeling is probably better being a winger than Dr. Orem). Likewise the playing staff also features a physio, a nutritionist and an ice cream scooper who were selected for their additional skills. Teacher and rightback Kim Samrodd was nominated 'Most Literate Player' on the team and subsequently has a secondary role as football reporter for the Oswark Parish Advertiser and it's sister outlets the Deltemouth Tide Times, Sullenden Morning Bugle, and the dual online-print media Toddwardine Beastmarket Journal and News of The World.

The squad for the Cup of Harmony is largely the one carried over from World Cup Qualifying, as it was felt the team that had so impressively won The Nation of The Commonwealth of Baker Park Over-Achiever's Prize For Ninth Seeds by finishing fifth in their group and remaining undefeated everyone who finished below them - even Darmen - deserved another day out in the sun or whatever the weather is in the host nation. There are no new call-ups but two players are missing from the original Baptism of Fire squad.

Enor Perro the young defensive midfielder was dropped from the representative team after the Baptism of Fire when he left the valley, having been spotted by scouts in Farfadillis and signing for Rülândéá Kôstä, to become so far as anyone knows the first professional footballer from the valley. Everyone is tremendously pleased for him and if he gets a game or two for the big club, they might commission a statue of him in his home village of Warkin.

Aleard Sullenden turned 42 just before the tournament and coming off a heavy QC shift at the brewery which left him with a three-month hangover, decided it was time to hang up his Representative boots. Since he was the sole reason for the team competing in the World Cup cycle in the first place, it was decided he absolutely had to go along in some capacity, and so arrives at the Cup of Harmony as a somewhat reluctant and sluggish assistant coach. Not because he doesn't care about Deltic football, but because he's still nursing that hangover.

This will be the final go-round for Larry Carricker as manager of the Solderan national football team.

That much has been a given. He was adamant that he would not return as manager no matter what happened. Even a stirring 3-0 win at home against eventual Group 7 champions Drawkland and an inspiring 1-1 home draw against previously No. 7-ranked Audioslavia would be enough to get Carricker to reconsider his decision.

His Snakes would finish qualifying with a record of 9-7-4, good for fifth place, three points behind Audioslavia for fourth in the Group 7 standings. The fact they had two shocking upsets of higher rated teams was offset by the team's embarrassing loss and draw to StrayaRoos Barrier Islands, meaning they could only secure one point out of a possible six from the last place team in the group. Carricker said the results against StrayaRoos Barrier Islands didn't cost the Snakes a spot in the proper or even a potential berth in the playoffs.

"We just didn't take care of business," he said. "Regardless of whether we should have done that against a StrayaRoos Barrier Islands or an Audioslavia doesn't matter. We left some [standings] points out there at inopportune times. We have to do a better job of developing some consistency."

Now the Snakes will take part in their second consecutive Cup of Harmony on the eve of the first season of the Solderan Elite League. Carricker said he hasn't determined what his next step will be, but he did say he would not take a job as manager in the SEL.

"I need to step away from the game for a while," he said. "I'll do that and we'll see what happens. For all you know, I could get the itch to come back after being away, but I do need to take a break." Carricker said former midfielder and team captain Joey Westway was "in the final stages" of being offered the position as his successor as manager. He said the roster he'll likely get will be mostly new faces with very few holdovers from his playing days during World Cup 90 qualifying and the Copa Rushmori. Carricker said that was by design.

"A lot of times, players will have problems playing for a manager who was their teammate in the past," he said. "We didn't want that for Joey." For his part, Westway said he could separate being a potential manager from being a teammate, pointing to the fact that he was team captain and was often a manager on the field.

"It's not like I was boozing and cruising for [women] or [men] with the boys and suddenly I'm telling them to be back by curfew," he said. "I had fun with my mates, but we all had to be held accountable, whether that was me or [former manager and current technical director Norm Carricker] or Larry [Carricker]."

As for the future, Larry Carricker said he's looking forward to watching how the Snakes perform in World Cup qualifying for the next campaign and for a potential Copa Rushmori. The only difference is, it'll be from a distance.

"It's going to be exciting to be a fan for a change."

About Ceni

Ceni is a small island country of around 5500 km2 located in the eastern parts of the Rushmori region of Terranea. Although it has no land borders, the nearest countries are Electrum, from which it is separated in the west by a narrow strait, and the Isles of Avon, a small republic located to the east in the same island chain. With a population of just over 13 million, this makes Ceni one of the densest countries in Rushmore, at around 2360 people per sq km. Ceni is also one of the most urbanized countries in Rushmore, with the three major cities, Cenial, the capital, City Centre, and New Oxford, forming one large urban agglomeration, with the city petering out around the edges of the metropolis. Climate-wise, Ceni has a temperate oceanic climate, with the influence of the ocean helping to moderate both the summers and the winters - temperatures are almost never extreme either way, cold or hot.

Historically, Ceni was first settled by a group of people, ancestors of the Fererldan, who spoke a language, Ancient Cenian, that is almost extinct except for a few speakers (but it survives in many Cenian names, both surnames and given names), which is related to modern day Avaerilonian (the prevailing theory suggests that these people migrated from an area in New Gelderland, across a land bridge to Ceni, and then across to Avaerilon, where they settled later in time). The name Ceni itself comes from a corruption of an Ancient Cenian word for 'White Cliffs', which described the cliffs near the present day Dover. These people stayed in the area around Cenial for a while until a group of settlers from Eura arrived and settled in the southern half of Ceni, displacing some of these populations. A Spanish population from Valladares arrived and set up a colony in the north of Ceni, hoping to set up a port for the growing nation, but when the city of Junin was settled, these settlers were disappointed, nonetheless deciding to stay and send seafood to the Valladar communities as well as lobbying the government to set up a port in the north. These communities formed the backbone of a thriving Hispanic population in Ceni.

In the face of a rising Euran threat, these various colonies - the Fereldic population, the Spanish in the North, and Euran/Cenian mix in the South - decided to unify their solitary island in order to coordinate their defenses and reduce infighting. As the Euran threat died down, the Cenian government retooled its economy to provide services and goods to the growing Euran industrial economy while still remaining a bit on edge. As the economy bloomed, a group of Avaerilonian refugees settled in Ceni after escaping one of that country's long wars, establishing a Cenian tradition. These refugees contributed to Ceni's rising high-tech and service economy as the country moved into the 21st century.

Ceni's government is a parliamentary system with a one-chambered parliament, the Cenian Assembly, which has 225 representatives in it; the Prime Minister is the head of government, while a ceremonial President is the head of state. More locally, Ceni is divided into 14 districts, which serve to administer most of the government's services to the people and giving them local control, with a Chief Minister heading the government in each district; most districts have a District Council of either 7 or 9 councilpersons, headed by the Chief Minister. The Cenian people love their elections, with more than 80% turnout most times. Economically, Ceni has a large financial sector along with large pharmaceutical, high-tech, education, real estate sectors, and renewable energy sector. Ceni has a large GDP due to its proximity to Eura and the Euran economy and also a large GDP per capita, one of the largest in the region. Cenians enjoy a high standard of living as well as a large social welfare net and free education, courtesy of a Scandinavian-style liberal government.

The Tactics

Efnak national teams, and the country as a whole, fundamentally believe in a 4-4-2 system, based predominantly around a counter-attacking philosophy with creativity coming from wingers, strikers, and overlapping fullbacks. While there is a growing movement within the domestic game around adapting the system into a more fluid, possession-based attacking system, manager Katemabffu is still from the orthodox school, and as such this team, like all national team squads at the moment, will look to bunker in and defend before throwing men forward in a potent counter-attack. While more attacking football was on display during the Baptism of Fire, the more negative tactics during World Cup Qualifying proved successful enough at limited points to be continued into the Cup of Harmony. With the good performance in the Baptism of Fire and reaching expectations as the team faded to 8th in Group 12 of World Cup Qualifying, Katemabffu is expected to be re-signed by the FDaE to manage the national team for another cycle.

The Fans

Soccer, or football if you prefer, is really the only sport in Efnakia that anybody cares about, and as such the national team is incredibly well-supported, especially in international competition. The main feature of Efnak support is the Ssaddar, a call-and-response performance involving the full squad prior to matches both at home in Efnakia and during international tournaments where Efnak fans are expected to be in the majority. Efnak fans are guaranteed to sell out every home match, and are more than likely to fill their travelling contingent for every away match. Fan support at international matches within Efnakia generally take the form of the support of the local side - foreign visitors are far more likely to encounter a wall of drums in the Anddof heartland, a cacophony of bells in the industrial cities of Ssedbam, and ethnically charged insults enormous choreography and vocals in nationalistic Abmas.

The Independent Wreckerian Athletes
Image

Full nation name: The Hapiloppian District of Wreckeria
Trigramme: WRE
Nicknames: The Bulldogs
Team Colors: Orange and Black

Info:
As an independent nation, Wreckeria does not exist anymore, having been absorbed into the Dominion of Hapilopper. But good luck telling the Independent Wreckerian Athletes or the fans of Wreckerian football that. Last year, Wreckeria had its best campaign ever, even as the nation was in the midst of falling apart, even as the government was in the midst of defaulting on its debts and allowing itself to be absorbed into the neighboring land of Hapilopper. But the Wreckerian National Football Team provided Wreckerians with hope. At one point, Wreckeria led their group and it seemed like they had a very reasonable shot at qualifying for their first World Cup ever, 60 years after the first Wreckerian team entered amidst the outbreak of war. This year, Wreckeria hopes to build off that success and maybe give their people something to celebrate about.

Style Mod: +1

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: TG me first, or ping me on the NS Sports Discord, and we'll talk about it
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but TG me if you want to do something serious
Godmod injuries to my players: TG me first, or ping me on the NS Sports Discord, and we'll talk about it
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: TG me first, or ping me on the NS Sports Discord, and we'll talk about it
Godmod other events: Yes, but TG me first
RP Coronavirus-related events: No. A RL pandemic does not exist in Wreckeria and Wreckerians do not have it.

COACHING STAFF:
HEAD COACH: Marvin Byrnes
Byrnes, 41, attempted to present football as a way to unite Wreckeria and get away from the decades of violence and infighting that has plagued the nation. Byrnes, who used to play for Sporting Milwood Town before the Wreckerian Premier League collapsed 10 years ago, was a star striker for the team. Byrnes feels like this Wreckerian team might be the best Wreckerian team ever, and that they will be even stronger than they were one year ago. Byrnes works on a 3-4-3 formation for the Cup of Harmony.
ASSISTANT COACH: Nick Donaldson
ASSISTANT MANAGER: Abner Crewe
GOALKEEPING COACH: Quentin Joyner
TRAINER: Charlie Garner
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR: Darrell Glazier
PHYSIO: Robert Fry

THE PLAYERS:
STARTING PLAYERS:
Image
#1 - JOHN MARLOWE | Goalkeeper | Age: 26 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: (none) | Club: The Soldiers of Hapilopper City
Style of Play: Roving Keeper | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Decent | Attitude: Confident

John Marlowe will tell you he's Wreckeria through and through. The grandson of William Marlowe, a defenseman on Wreckeria's World Cup 30 squad, Marlowe has had football in his blood his entire life. He carries the Wreckerian flag on his sleeve when he plays for the Soldiers in Hapilopper City. He has a charity, "Marlowe for Wreckeria" which tries to enrich the lives of Wreckerian children with a better education than what they currently receive. Marlowe has vowed to be a part of whatever rebuilding campaign asked of him in the aftermath of Wreckerian consolidation.

Image
#2 - HUEY HOOPER | Centerback | Age: 25 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @hueyhoop | Club: Hapilopper City Highway Patrol
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Sparkplug

Hapiloppians and Wreckerians alike have become very familiar with the name "Huey Hooper" in the last year, both for the Wreckerian national team and with the Hapilopper City Highway Patrol. Part of it is the athletic defending. Part of it is the wild physical style of play that Hapiloppians have fallen in love with. Another part of it is his willingness to do what it takes to stop that goal-scoring effort, but not go too far like certain other footballers. What he is, is a ballplayer that is hellbent on getting under the skin of his opponents, and even more hellbent on driving his teammates to be the best they can be. How effective he is at it, though, remains to be seen.

Image
#3 - CLIVE CARSON | Centerback | Age: 28 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: @clive_carsonWRE | Club: Kingsland Warriors
Style of Play: Man-To-Man | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Medium | Attitude: Annoying

Recently, a popular Hapiloppian footballer was asked to describe certain footballers for a television interview. When he was asked to describe Clive Carson, he couldn't do it without using expletives. It's not as if Clive Carson is a jerk or an antisocial prick like some footballers. He's actually a really nice guy off the pitch and an absolute genius. But on the pitch, he could be, quite possibly the most annoying player in football in either Hapilopper or Wreckeria. Clive is among the best at getting on the nerves of both his opponents and, on occasion, his own teammates. Several players have remarked hearing Clive making incredibly annoying noises to them when having to face off against him. These noises, said one Hapiloppian player, resemble the sound of a small dog yapping away. But he has his purposes with these noises - to both rob his opponents of their concentration, to throw them off their game and to get under their skin. And it works. Two years ago, he got the usually-unflappable Toby Bryson of Soldiers so angry that Toby forgot where he was and punched him out. Toby got a red card and a three-match suspension. Clive got a black eye and the last laugh.

#4 - MAX CRISP | Centerback | Age: 28 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @da_crispy_1 | Club: Border City United
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: As Needed | Attitude: Entertaining

Quickly becoming one of the more popular footballers in Hapilopper possibly for all the wrong reasons, Max Crisp is known just as much for his prowess on dirt tracks across the nation, driving the little midget cars when it's not football season. Fans love his balls-to-the-wall style of racing, ripping the outside line as he makes his way to the lead. But it doesn't always work, and that's what makes his coaches uneasy. Crisp is known just as much for his wild, spectacular crashes as he is winning races. Just weeks before the group draw, Crisp hit a rut racing on a dirt track at North Hampton, sending the car airborne and over the catch fence. His car ended up smashing into a fan's pickup truck.

Image
#5 - DARRELL STACEY | Midfielder | Age: 26 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: @dstacey | Club: Pinkerton City FC
Style of Play: Defensive | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Sparkplug

There are players that truly believe that if you're not getting into card trouble, you're not trying hard enough. We bring this up because Darrell Stacey is absolutely one of those players. As a midfielder - more specifically, a hybrid midfielder/defenseman, Darrell has no qualms about going a little too far in his quest to stop the other team from scoring. Not on the level of Nathan Ellis suplexing a striker onto a solid surface, but close. Fans in Pinkerton have fallen in love with Darrell's no-nonsense style of play that can turn a soccer match into a bar fight very quickly.

Image
#6 - BISCUIT GILBERT | Midfielder | Age: 29 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @biscuit | Club: Raceway FC
Style of Play: Defensive | Speed: Medium | Physicality: As Needed | Attitude: Goofball

Uh-oh, Biscuit's put on some weight! It was once implied that Biscuit Gilbert, the heart and soul of the Wreckerian midfield, was "a biscuit away from 250." Now, he's vaulted far past that and might be closer to a biscuit away from 300. No matter, he can still carry that huge frame of his up and down the pitch for 90 minutes, so it's not really much of a problem. Biscuit may be Wreckeria's most popular footballer due to what kind of person he is. He does what he likes to do, to hell with what everyone else thinks. His singing voice is terrible, but he's a regular at the karaoke bars in the Buckridge area. He's entered a couple of high profile hot dog eating contests, including one nationally-televised event that was marred by Biscuit showing all the world why the Hapilopper Television Network uses super-slow motion cameras for these events. But he didn't mind. Biscuit Gilbert's mantra is "enjoy the moment."

Image
#7 - SIG JUSTICE | Midfielder | Age: 33 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @sig_justice | Club: The Soldiers of Hapilopper City
Style of Play: Offensive | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: The Captain

The face of Wreckerian footballers everywhere, Sigmund Justice, known as "Sig", is a dominating presence in the Wreckerian midfield, and a great offensive threat, either by feeding the ball to his strikers or by pulling his own card and going for goal. Last season with Soldiers, Sig scored 22 goals, leading the HFA for midfielder goals. There are some questions over Sig's health, as he is starting to battle knee issues. Rough opposing players might want to keep this in mind. Away from the pitch, Sig enjoys playing beer league softball with a group of friends from the Center Street Pub.

Image
#8 - BOBBY BELCHER | Midfielder | Age: 23 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @bob_the_belcher | Club: West River FC
Style of Play: Offensive | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Light | Attitude: Professional

In the future, you probably will hear more about Bobby Belcher, a midfielder that pundits have called "the most professional player in the HFA." You will hear of him as a stalwart in the midfield for West River FC, that's for sure. He's a great player, scoring 11 goals last season for West River, but the biggest criticism of him is that he doesn't get physical enough out on the pitch. He doesn't get out there and put his body on the line, he doesn't get into card trouble, he doesn't get into fights, he doesn't cheap-shot his opponents and he doesn't play with a target on his back. But that might be the point. His quiet style of play keeps him out of trouble and in the good graces of his team, who have thought about making him more of a striking forward than just a midfielder delivering the ball to his forwards.

Image
#9 - GARY BRONSON | False Nine | Age: 27 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @g-bron | Club: The Halsted Heat
Style of Play: Deceptive | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Light | Attitude: Creative

Gary Bronson is a master of deception. So it shouldn't surprise you that he's a really good poker player, and really good at a certain video game where you play an impostor. Either way, Bronson has mastered the art of the "False Nine", playing havoc with opposing defenses and turning a tough situation into one very advantageous to himself and his teammates. That sort of play has also netted him a lot of goals - 24 last year in the HFA, to be exact. Away from the pitch, Bronson is, interestingly enough, a TV game show enthusiast, and is seen watching the Hapiloppian game show "The Family Fight" every night, a show that has recently enjoyed a resurgence thanks to its newest host, John Perkins.

Image
#10 - DAVID MARLIN | Center Forward | Age: 20 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: @marliner | Club: Hapilopper City Highway Patrol
Style of Play: Athletic | Speed: Mega-Fast | Physicality: Medium | Attitude: Excitable

The youngest player on the Wreckerian Bulldogs, David Marlin is also one of the most exciting players, taking after his childhood hero, Hapiloppian striker Ernie Stevenson. Just watch him with the ball for five seconds and you'll see how he takes after him. He pulls off incredible move after incredible move, and scores wild difficult goals. One of them got the Wreckerians going early on in the World Cup 90 campaign with an imitation of one of Ernie's famous "hop-skip-holy shit" goals, and he has served, just as much of a morale booster as anything, to the Wreckerian people. Last year, he scored 31 goals in the HFA and helped propel the Highway Patrol to 2nd in the championship. Marlin is one of the most excitable members of the Wreckerian squad, and is said to be up at 5 a.m. every morning, ready to go out and kick some ass.

Image
#11 - GORD SHEPPARD | Center Forward | Age: 29 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: (none) | Club: Hapilopper City Highway Patrol
Style of Play: Straightforward | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Medium | Attitude: Antisocial

Gordon Sheppard, better known as Gord, is one of those players that is more interested in going out, doing his job and going home. He's not a clubhouse cancer by any means, so let's get that out of the way. But he also doesn't have any interest in spending any more time with his teammates, or with the media, or with the fans, than he needs to. He'd rather go home, do his own thing, and not be bothered. When reporters try asking him questions, they're greeted with typical, short, one-word responses. It's rare that he'll open up to people, and it takes some doing. All he wants to do is go out there and win football matches. The rest is just window dressing. He'd rather go home and work on his backyard, and specifically his garden, and believe it or not, Gord might be the best gardener in all of Wreckerian or Hapiloppian football. He's a damn fanatic!

Image
#21 - JACOB SUTTON | Centerback | Age: 28 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @jake_sutton | Club: United Hampton Cities
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Decent | Attitude: Relaxed

The first time Jacob Sutton walked into the United Hampton Cities locker room, the first thing he did was install a hammock. It annoyed the hell out his teammates and his coaches at first, but after a little bit of time, they realized that this guy had the right idea. He could go into a match relaxed and loose and get the job done. He could focus himself with some music, a drink with an umbrella in it, and then go out there and take an offender down. Was it unorthodox? Yes. But very few things in Hapilopper or Wreckeria are done in an orthodox manner. Away from the pitch, Jacob does about the same thing. He can be seen in his apartment in East Hampton, relaxing, watching old movies and drinking those refreshing beverages with umbrellas in them.

Image
#22 - TIM KIMBALL | Centerback | Age: 24 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: @tkdefense | Club: The Halsted Heat
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Eccentric

Sports stars have their own quirks. Tim Kimball is certainly one of them. The lead defenseman for the HFA expansion side The Halsted Heat, Kimball is known for his love of syrup. After pulling what he calls a "pancake" tackle on an offensive player, Kimball will rush out to the sideline and take a shot of pancake syrup, straight from the bottle, fed to him by one of his coaches. Is it disgusting? Absolutely it is. Does he care? Absolutely not. He does what makes him happy and to hell with what everyone else thinks. Either way, he does it and he has every intention of keeping up with this tradition should he get playing time during the World Cup 91 campaign.

Image
#23 - DAVID WILNER | Hybrid Midfielder | Age: 27 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: (none) | Club: Peoria FC
Style of Play: Either-Or | Speed: Slow | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Clumsy

No matter how good of a ballplayer poor David Wilner may be, the sad thing about him is that he will always have the unfortunate distinction as one of the clumsiest ballplayers in all of Hapilopper or Wreckeria. See, the problem is, two years ago, Wilner accidentally tested the structural integrity of the goalposts in a match between Peoria and Soldiers at Capital Stadium, and while the structural integrity of the goalposts more than held up, the structural integrity of Wilner's face did not, as he crashed face-first into the post. This isn't the only time this has happened. There are rumors of an incident where Wilner was thrown out of a Peoria laundromat after inadvertently flooding the place when he opened up a washing machine prematurely, and one time where he may or may not have accidentally spilled a pitcher of sports drink all over the head coach of Peoria FC. Poor dude.

Image
#24 - DEAN NORMAN | Defensive Midfielder | Age: 27 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: (none - banned from the site) | Club: Hapilopper City Highway Patrol
Style of Play: Defensive | Style of Person: Offensive | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Asshole

In this world, certain people brighten your day in certain ways. Some brighten your day by their mere presence. Others brighten your day by going away. We can't understand how anyone would have their day brightened by seeing the always sunshiny face of Dean Norman, one of the biggest punks in Hapiloppian or Wreckerian sport. He was banned from twii.tur for some grossly offensive remarks made towards fans and other players. Teammates call him a "jackass." He glares at fans wanting his autograph. He's a dirty player on the pitch, almost as much so as Hapilopper's Nathan Ellis. But what sets Dean Norman apart from Nathan Ellis is Nathan is said to be a very nice person away from the pitch, fighting for his teammates. Dean fights for himself. Any charity he'd set up would be to ensure he got more money.

Image
#25 - TRAVIS JARVIS | Offensive Midfielder | Age: 21 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @trav-jarvis | Club: United Hampton Cities
Style of Play: Offensive | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Medium | Attitude: Brooding

Travis Jarvis, one of several new additions to the Independent Wreckerian Athletes, doesn't talk much. He doesn't socialize a lot, he doesn't talk to the media that much, and he doesn't converse with fans that much. He just comes across as a very sad individual, someone who has recently dealt with loss, and that very well may be true. A look on his twii.tur account has seen a once-excitable, happy-go-lucky Wreckerian midfielder deal with a very bad breakup from his high school sweetheart. Wreckerian coaches are concerned over how this will impact his ability to play ball - which, it should be worth noting, is a tremendous ability. Jarvis is said to be one of the top Wreckerian players for the future and could lead the Wreckerian midfield to World Cups in the future, if he can just get over his girlfriend breaking up with him.

Image
#26 - JERRY KEEN | Winger | Age: 22 | Kicks: Left | twii.tur: @jerrykeen40 | Club: The Halsted Heat
Style of Play: Athletic | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Light | Attitude: Intense

Jerry Keen is one of several younger Wreckerian ballplayers that have Wreckerians everywhere thankful for the future. Here's why. While Keen is thought to be "not quite ready" to start on the national team, the truth of the matter is that he's almost there. He's almost at a level that he could start as a Wreckerian forward in years to come. And he's forcing himself along the way, too, to the delight of his coaches and the fans, and to the occasional consternation his friends. Keen lives, breathes, eats and sleeps football. He's set up a full-motion simulator in his Halsted house to allow him to practice further, even as his team is done for the night. He's said to have been practicing tactics until five in the morning. Anything to become one of the world's elite.

Image
#27 - MICKEY KEEGAN | Winger | Age: 24 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @kickinkeegan | Club: Peoria FC
Style of Play: Supporting | Speed: Medium-Fast | Physicality: Light | Attitude: Friendly

The thing that Wreckerian experts will have you believe about Mickey Keegan is that he's possibly a little too nice to be a Wreckerian footballer. That he doesn't come across as a footballer. He drives a minivan, listens to showtunes and plays video games all the time. But the fact is, Keegan is not half bad at what he does. With Peoria FC, Keegan scored 19 goals last season and offered up another 20 assists, being more than happy to play a supporting role to feed their lead striker the ball. Away from the pitch, Keegan is said to also be a major chicken tender enthusiast. We didn't know they existed, but Mickey Keegan sure calls himself one - saying he can't play football without "enjoying my tendies first." Yeah, there's your typical footballer.

Image
#30 - CAREY ATWATER | Goalkeeper | Age: 30 | Kicks: Right | twii.tur: @careythekeeper | Club: Washington FC
Style of Play: Sweeper Keeper | Speed: Slow | Physicality: Low | Attitude: Professional

Carey The Keeper, a favorite in the Washington area of Hapilopper for his friendly attitude in the community, is the sole backup on the Wreckerian national team, and one of a few Wreckerian players that remain from its World Cup 84 and 85 squads. With the Washington FC squad, Atwater averages one goal per 80 minutes of play, and while the team is not usually a highly-regarded squad in the HFA, it's not because of him. The fans in Washington know this, and consequently any heat towards the squad is not generally directed his way. Away from the pitch, Atwater likes to be involved in the campaigns to rebuild Wreckeria from the devastation brought on by the 54-year Civil War and the subsquent fighting afterwards.

Football isn't a big thing in Ranoria (well, this version anyway) and frankly no one is expecting a huge run from this team. However, after back-to-back winning World Cup qualifying stages, we know this team can compete on the world stage, even if not as one of the toughest squads in the competition.

Key losses include strikers Tony Hamilton, and Dresden Crux, midfielders Rayko Grossman and Esther Simson, and defenders Michal Bier and Lioni Grendel. It was a known fact that World Cup 90 was the last shot for the original crew to be the primary group carrying this team to a World Cup Proper, and the time between Cups has seen several retirements and more players starting to lose a step. Hamilton and Grossman in particular were key, with both serving as long-time starters and Grossman in particular being on of the better players in Ranorian history. The team still managed to perform well in the World Cup 91 Qualifying Stage, however, and continues to be the most consistently winning non-gridiron team Ranoria fields on the international stage.

Highly decorated gridiron kicker Barry Chlorid continues to be the centerpiece for the offense of this team, but there are plenty of new faces to add some novelty this go-round. First-time-starter defenders Sabra Sapharina and Andrew Parrish are players to watch, with both considered to have a high ceiling, but will their youth hurt the qualifying chances of a squad considered an underdog?

In other news, the team has made the decision to depart from the traditional nickname of Ranorian National Teams, "Krauts" in order to help distinguish themselves from those other squads. This has come with a uniform change and overall rebranding. The U21 Team - participating in the Di Bradini Cup - will be known as the Snow Cubs. The new color scheme in particular does not match the iconic crimson turf of Smith Field, but the NAAF is hoping to purchase new, blue turf for the field in the near future.

Located in Ranoria's capitol, Smith Field is used by the Ranorian lacrosse and association football national teams. It also serves as the home field of the NAAF's Richardson Revolt and Richardson's MLL squad. The iconic crimson turf is enough to make the stadium stand out in the eye of most viewers - and it's been a stronghold for a squad with modest success in the last few qualifying runs.

Barry Chlorid: Chlorid is a highly decorated gridiron kicker, but he only went to the fake football "dark side" in order to pay for school, and later to make the kind of money that he never could have touched otherwise. Regardless, he's here, and plans on also serving as Ranoria's World Bowl kicker once again next season, as the Baptism of Fire will allow him a bit more leeway to train. NSCF XX champ, World Bowl 42 & 43 champion, 8x all pro in the RFL, and he's been Ranoria's World Bowl kicker in all but one of the team's seasons. He was a two time all Ranorian in this sport in college and was a phenom in high school, despite playing two sports at both levels. Expect a fluid athlete. He doesn't quite have the experience of these other guys, as he plays gridiron domestically.

Felix Graf: Obviously larger for a soccer player, Graf is often asked why he's here, and not playing gridiron. He'd probably call you a meathead, but the guy has deceptive straight-line speed and obviously he's a physical presence on the field. Good chemistry with Chlorid after years of playing together on this stage.

Chris Jenkins: Chris Jenkins has long been a high-ceiling guy and he's really done well domestically in between World Cups 89 and 90 - he looks ready to show his stuff coming into the 91st edition of this competition.

Kris Reinhardt: Reinhardt's the top dog on this defense and in the country. She showed up and was used only sparingly in World Cup 87, but really upped her game after seeing and playing against the best competition she could go against, and has been starting since World Cup 88. She's more suited to playing center than wing, but can do either. One of the best players in Ranoria, 3x NAAF DPOY.

Vincent Emilia: A solid goalkeeper for the Revolt, he's got a few all pros under his belt at this point. Expect as good of play from him as you can expect from a Ranorian. General consensus is that while he's nowhere near the top of the world, he's good enough to play with anyone. That said, he's got Karsten Leonore, another solid prospect, breathing down his neck.

Sabra Sapharina: Sabra was the the second rated prospect in Ranoria going into 2029. After being picked up by the Richardson Revolt, a generally strong but championless team, she debuted on the internationals stage in DBC 52...a team that has infamously gone down as Ranoria's first winless team in international play. That said, in her two years of domestic play, she's 18-5-5 in the regular season, 2-2 in postseason games. Sabra's an electric talent likely looking to play abroad after this World Cup - any takers?

Andrew Parrish: Parrish is another first-cycle starter for this team. He's also one of the three players from Ranoria's Dietrich Dirks among the top 6 in the defenders depth chart. He, like Sapharina, played for the DBC 53 team, but the two don't always get along - he plays for the best team in Ranoria's NAAF, if you hadn't guessed. He's been 17-7-4 in the regular season, but 4-0 in postseason play with the two titles that come with that impressive mark.

Acastanha Male Senior Football Team

Acastanha or Federation of Acastanha is a country located in northeast part of Melayu Mainland in Melayu Archipelago. It has a land border with Kayangan to the southwest and Sendhang to its south. And another maritime border with Hundredstar to the southeast. It is a developing country with agriculture and some mining as their main income. CPO is the country's largest export commodity followed by timber.

In the world of sports, Acastanha started their international debut by entering 5th Melayu Archipelago Cup. They were managed to advance to quarterfinal but they were stopped by Belfitz. Over the course of the competition, they are always managed to qualify to the knockout stage. But they often ended up in the Quarterfinal. Their best performance was at the recent event, 10th Melayu Archipelago Cup where they reached the final for the first time. Although they were defeated by Eraman in the end.

In the international competition, Acastanha senior football team debuts at Baptism of Fire 74 before continuing to the World Cup. They have entered 4 times in the World Cup Cycle and never advance to the main competition. In the last World Cup (90th), they were finished 4th in their Group Qualifying Round, their best result so far. They were also invited to Cup of Harmony, their first ever. In the event, they managed to stayed until Round 32 where they were beaten by Qasden.

NOTES FOR XANNERIAN ROSTER

1.) I will be open too and to some extend encouraging towards letting you determine my starting lineup

2.) Allison Burnes, if she gets put on the starting lineup is 5'2" so dont expect her to go after headers, but she is a super talented player and will still wreck shop if given the chance

3.) The Levi siblings must either be on the field at the same time or not. There's rumors they have psychic connections with each other and the fact domestically they play well together when all three are on seems to collaborate this.

Overview

Eraman, officially the Kingdom of Eraman, is an island country in the Melayu Archipelago. The federal constitutional monarchy consists of seven kingdoms and two states. It shares a land border with Samudera Darussalam and a maritime border with Pemecutan, Sharktail, and Southern Palm Islands. Anara is the national capital and largest city while Daulapura is the royal seat of the monarch. The country's population is 14,753,910.

Eraman is ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse. About half of the population is ethnically Eramanian, with large minorities of Samuderan, Sharktailian, Girian, Mandaran, and Palmyran. Bahasa Eraman and English are recognized as the official languages of Eraman. The economy is mainly fuelled by its natural resources but is expanding in the sectors of commerce, manufacturing, and tourism.

Football is considered the number one sport in the country. The local clubs and the national team are followed religiously by the citizens. Eraman currently sits at 58th in the KPB ranking.

Staffs & Tactics

Head Coach: Agung Suryanantha (Pemecutan)

Agung Suryanantha took charge of the Eraman national team before the 82nd Cup of Harmony. He is the former head coach of the Pemecutan national team. Under his guidance, Pemecutan qualified for the World Cup for the first time. He resigned from the Pemecutan national team after bad results in the 9th Melayu Archipelago Cup.

He guided Eraman to the knockout stage of the 82nd Cup of Harmony in his first competitive tournament as the head coach of Eraman national team, led Eraman to their first-ever Melayu Archipelago Cup title a few months after that but fell short of qualifying for the World Cup after finishing 4th in the 91st World Cup qualifiers behind Banija, Brookstation, and the Squornshelan Remnant States.

People's Republic of Fort McKinley

The Heroes of the People's Revolution will take to the football pitches across the decadent multiverse to demonstrate the superiority of the Fort McKinley way of life as Comrade Dr Allen wills it.
Following an exhibition in something called the ACF, the brave men of our nation competed in the slovenly and immoral nation of Mertagne in the Baptism of Fire where in spite of the capitalist filth all around them, our boys won all their matches before the officials intervened and plotted a way to eliminate the side from the tournament through favoring the team from Aleirave.
Since they could not be defeated in 90 minutes, the team were forced to play an extra half-hour, where fatigue finally overcame the Heroes and a goal was scored which proved the difference. In spite of a formal protest being filed, the squad returned home.

Following the latest World Cup Qualifying, where the People's Republic were forced to surmount many obstacles placed in front of them by the WCC which hindered the ability of the Heroes to finish above their eventual 6th place, there is now a possibility that a return to Mertagne for the Cup of Harmony is possible, although there is no question that little difference will be noticed between either of the swinish capitalist co-hosts in regards to where Fort McKinley will play.

Comrade D.G. Allen scored 19 times in 18 matches during qualification along with Comrade D.G. Young adding 5 more scores and Comrade S.J. Allen scoring 2 times and assisting on 9 others.

Richardson, Ranoria
Snow Bears coach's office, shortly after the end of the World Cup 91 qualifying stage

"Coach, I know you're not one for consolation prizes," Mark Tilmann turned around to see his elderly assistant coach, Manlafi Sowe, pulling a sealed letter out of the office's trash bin, "So I didn't mention it last time around when you tossed out the invitation, but that's twice now you haven't mentioned it. Why?"

Sowe's voice was gentle with a man who - technically his boss or not - was as much his pupil than the players. Tilmann tilted his head, "Uh, invitation? I normally just toss all the mail out once the qualifying stage is over, figure ain't much to handle besides getting ready for the next one."

Sowe's brow furrowed as he studied Tilmann's face for a sign of sarcasm. Satisfied - well, that's not the right word - when he didn't see it, he couldn't help but sigh. Ranorians really were helpless on the pitch. "The invitations to the Cup of Harmony, coach."

"Uh, Cup of Harmony?" He scratched his chin, looking up to the ceiling. Unfortunately, that netted no chiming bells, but you could practically see realization hit him when the light bulb went off. "You Banijans are mostly Mormon right? Is that your version of the Holy Grail or something?"

The letter fell from Manlafi Sowe's hand, floating back and forth gracefully in the air before it settled next to his foot, the old man staring down Ranoria's national team head coach for far longer than he should have. Poor Manlafi Sowe, he was too old to be dealing with this level of naivety from anyone but his grandkids.

Snow Bears to Enter "Cup of Harmony" For First Time After Assistant Manlafi Sowe Suggested It Could Help Improve The Team
By Vick Hamilton
Author's Note: For those of you who've never heard of it, I did a whole 5 minutes of research to figure it out! I've got you!

Image
The Snow Bears after a practice during World Cup 91

Image
1: This almost didn't happen.

So when head coach Mark Tilmann was interviewed after the announcement (during the graveyard hours on RSSN 2 mind you) he was in jovial spirits, despite the late hour for a man his age. Here, we'll link the interview for you
Reporter: So coach, what made you change your mind about joining the Cup of Harmony? You've always been against it.

Tilmann: Well you see that's a common misconception ma'am, I just didn't know what it was.

R: ...you, the head coach of our national team, didn't know what the Cup of Harmony was?

T: Of course not! Our valued assistant, Manlafi Sowe, from Banija actually talked to me about it. See, I guess since I run the whole national team program for us, I get the official invitation for the Cup. Manlafi, bless his heart, just assumed I didn't want to join, so he didn't question it after World Cup 90. But after this one, he asked me why I was against it.

R: Oh? And what did you tell him.

T: Well, he's from Banija, and I don't really know what all those Mormons get into, so I thought maybe it was their version of the Holy Grail, and that's what I asked him. Thank goodness he's got such a good temper because he laughed it off and told me it was a tournament for nations who didn't qualify for the World Cup.

R: You mean...and I have to ask again just to clarify, you'd never heard of the Cup of Harmony?

T: Of course not! The World Cup barely gets any coverage here, the Cup of Harmony? Never! Now look, I'm not normally one for participation trophies, but this was our worst qualifying showing since World Cup 87. Still a winning record, so we're happy, but Manlafi figured we could use the extra work.

R: Well, we'll be excited to see how you perform, coach!

T: Thanks! Now I'm off to bed, getting too old for these late nights.

Evidently, like many Ranorians, Tilmann had never heard of the Cup of Harmony, a sort of consolation tournament for those nations that perform admirably in the World Cup Qualifying but can't quite close the deal. With Manlafi Sowe on the coaching staff, the head honcho was fortunate enough to be let it on the open secret in time to round up the squad once again to make another run.

2: Just to be safe, let's temper the expectations of you obnoxiously persistent optimists now.

Now some of you might be thinking that since this is a tournament of, well, the not top 32 nations in the world, we have a chance at actually doing something. That's hilarious, and you're not a devoted fan of Ranorian soccer if you're one of those people. We still suck, and nations like Wreckeria or perennial threats to win the World Cup like Cassadaigua(7th) or even Audio-freaking-slavia (8th) are in here. We go up against any of them and it's gonna look like what happened against the Commonwealth of Baker Park during qualifying, except maybe worse. Probably worse.

Even if we have some modest success a la our string of winning records in the qualifying stage, the top of this tournament features nations many picked to win the Proper prior to the start - we can not and will not get past them.

Now that we've ticked off the casual fans enough to make them stop reading - you devotees know our rank dropped after the WCQ for the first time since we've entered, outside the top 70 now. This tournament is, while still far from winnable, a chance to at least prove that we're a bit better than that in the eyes of, well, whoever the hell it is that votes on these things.

3: But there are still some good reasons to turn at least one, singular eye towards this tournament.

It should be noted that this being our first cycle with our rebranding to the "Snow Bears," the team could be seen as heading in a new direction by taking this kind of action step towards improving on the pitch. If they do well, it could be an encouraging sign of things to come.

And more than that, you'll want to keep an eye on the development of the younger bath of players. While core players like forward Felix Graf, stud defender Kris Reinhardt, and goalie Vincent Emilia are likely to remain part of this team's core for years to come, much of the rest of the roster is facing turnover in the near future. Youngsters like Glenn Helmine (forward), Andrew Parrish (defender) and Sabra Sapharina (defender) are all seeing significant playing time, and getting more minutes against world-class competition can only be good for their development.

It will be crucial to see how Mark Tilmann and Manlafi Sowe can help bring these high-ceiling players up - Sapharina in particular - throughout a relatively lower stakes tournament to determine if Tilmann has the potential to be the rock for this team going into the future, and find a way to qualify for the World Cup Proper. Ranorian national teams are generally stable, with only our Hockey squad ever having fired a coach, and as long as Tilmann continues to post winning seasons his job will be safe - hell, the fact that he even does that is almost a slap in the face of the sport. But if he can guide this squad to make a splash in the Cup of Harmony, show that he can help speed up the development of our young talent? That'll keep the eyes of his bosses from wandering to younger coaches with perhaps more potential.

And hell, even if those youngsters don't live up to expectations, Reinhardt and Emilia are still sturdy presences on the pitch. Kris Reinhardt may be the best player on this team, but Vincent Emilia has made his own case at goalie - the uber-athletic veteran is always good for a few highlight-reel saves, and has truly flourished into an elite talent under the guidance of Banijan guru Manlafi Sowe.

Regardless, hop along for the ride! At the very worst, it's a few more excuses to make whip up some bratwursts in the backyard and laugh at our failings in this sport!
Fan of football, the Murican kind. But soccer is cool too! Just not really my thing. C(:^D/-<

Demonym: Sendhangite
Nickname: The Rice Farmers

Overview

Sendhang or Federation of Sendhang is a a landlocked nation located in the Melayu Archipelago on the Melayu Mainland. It has a land border with Acastanha, Kayangan, Springmont, Havynwilde, Bachok, and Samudera Darussalam. Sendhang consists of a federal territory and 4 states namely Lemah Banyu, Alamsunda, Putrasia, and Nainhá.

Football in Sendhang is governed by the newly-formed Persatuan Sepakbola Seluruh Sendhang (PS3). PS3 was officially formed over five years ago. Before the formation of PS3, football in Sendhang was governed separately by each of the state FAs. There was no Sendhang national team prior to the formation of PS3.

The formation of PS3 also paved the way for a new national league, the Liga Super Sendhang (LSS) which kicked off its inaugural season 5 years ago. There was no national league before the introduction of LSS. Each of the state FAs organized their league separately before that.

Sendhang is currently ranked 62nd in the world.

Staffs & Tactics

Head Coach: Teuku Irfan

Teuku Irfan was officially appointed as the head coach of the national team prior to the 82nd Cup of Harmony after leading Sendhang to 5 wins, a draw, and a defeat in his 7 matches as the caretaker coach in the 90th World Cup qualifiers after Teuku Syarkawi was sacked. He is a graduate of sports science from the Universiti Sendhang and this is his first job as a head coach.

Irfan started his career with KS Tapaklaboh as the assistant to Teuku Syarkawi. He was brought to the national team setup 4 years ago after Teuku Syarkawi was appointed as the national team head coach.

Assistant Head Coach: Teuku Syarkawi

Teuku Syarkawi is the former head coach of KS Tapaklaboh, the most successful club in Putrasia in the States League era before the introduction of Liga Super Sendhang. He was appointed as the first head coach of the Sendhang national team a week after PS3 was officially announced. It was an easy decision for the decision-makers in PS3 at that time as Syarkawi is a very highly-rated head coach among football enthusiasts in Sendhang, especially Putrasia.

He was sacked by PS3 from the head coach position after six consecutive winless runs in the first half of the 90th World Cup qualifiers but was later handpicked by Teuku Irfan to be the assistant head coach of the national team. He is a long-time friend of Irfan who was his assistant at KS Tapaklaboh and the national team. The two complement each other and have worked well together for years. Irfan will usually lead team training while Syarkawi spent most of his time monitoring the training from his office while analyzing data and formulating strategies.

Style Modifier : -2
Formation : 4-1-2-3 DM

Teuku Irfan is a defensive-minded counter-attacking coach. He prefers to play with a defensive midfielder to protect the back four and to start counter-attacks. This is accompanied by two quick wingers that will sit deep to help the defense when they don't have the ball and get in position to launch a counter-attack while in transition when they have just won the ball.

Irfan prefers his team to be very disciplined in defending. His team will sit deep and frustrate the opponent for 90 minutes if needed. He doesn't believe in possession football. He wants his team to be very direct and quick when attacking. As his mentor and current assistant manager said, "possession doesn't win games. Goal does. Keep it tight at the back and hit team on the break."

Players
Starting Line Up in bold

Goalkeeper

Image

GK: Albertus Wageo (CAPTAIN)
Age: 33
Club: KS Larantuka

Albertus Wageo is the Liga Super Sendhang’s goalkeeper of the year in the first 2 seasons of the Liga Super Sendhang. He signed for KS Larantuka from PS Oelmasi at the start of the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang on a free transfer. The Oelmasi-born goalkeeper helped his new club to a second-place finish in the inaugural season before leading the club to the league title 2 seasons ago, conceding the least goal in both seasons. His selection as the captain of the national team 3 years ago has been an honor for him. His leadership, integrity, influence, and high social skills are what the coach sees in him. Syarkawi believed that Wageo as a captain could unite the new squad which comprises of players from different backgrounds.

Bench:

Image

GK: Monyet Pasuryan
Age: 30
Club: Persejo Kratonredjo

Monyet Pasuryan's ability in guarding the Persejo Kratonredjo goal in the inaugural season of Liga Super Sendhang deserved a thumbs up and earned him a call-up to the national team. The 28 years old Kratonredjo-born sweeper goalkeeper was ever-present for the club from the state capital of Lemah Banyu for the past 2 seasons. He only conceded 21 times in the 22 matches in the first season, 22 times in 22 matches 2 seasons ago and 23 times in 22 matches last season. This record led Persejo Kratonredjo to be the 4th least conceded team in the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang season, the 2nd least conceded team 2 seasons ago and the least conceded team last season which earned him the goalkeeper of the season award for the first time last season.

GK: Sonny Gunawan, 26 - KS Gunung Kayasu

Defender

Image

DR: Teuku Hamzah
Age: 27
Club: KS Tapaklaboh

Small and cunning, that is how the media described Teuku Hamzah. He is one of the four KS Tapakbaloh players called up by Syarkawi to the national team, their former head coach. His performance in the last 3 seasons convinced Syarkawi to call him up for national duty. Sendhangite will be looking for him to use his speed and agility to make overlap to open the space for Sendhang down the wing.

Image

DC: Teuku Muhammad Bari
Age: 32
Club: KS Tapaklaboh

Teuku Muhammad Bari is a strong and commanding center-back. He is very highly rated by Syarkawi who coached him at KS Tapaklaboh but Bari is not a player that football fans in Putrasia are interested in because of his temperament. While he is a regular player for his club, he is also a regular on the referee's notebook for the yellow and red cards. He is often seen kicking the opponent's leg, sometimes he is in trouble for it but sometimes he gets away with it. His disciplinary record is bad. Nevertheless, he won the Liga Super Sendhang best defender of the year award in the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang season. His ability to mark, tackle and close down opponents is enough for Syarkawi to call him up. He is also an asset when defending or attacking a set-piece due to his heading ability and jumping reach.

Image

DC: Putra Lumipada
Age: 32
Club: Persejo Kratonredjo

Putra Lumipada consistently led the back four of Persejo Kratonredjo for the past 3 seasons. His role for his club is irreplaceable. The ball-playing defender won the Liga Super Sendhang’s best defender of the year award last season. The 30 years old Kratonredjo-born who is also the captain of Persejo Kratonredjo was very commanding throughout the last 3 seasons and kept his backline very disciplined.

Image

DL: Niko Kefalo
Age: 30
Club: KS Larantuka

The 30 years old defender of KS Larantuka is the star player of his club helping his club to 3 Liga Mese Nainhá and a Liga Super Sendhang title. His consistent performance earned him the defender of the year award 3 seasons ago.

Bench:
DR: Edo Rungao, 28 - FS Waingapu
DC: Kurniadi Pranoto, 27 - KS Gunung Kayasu
DC: Dadan Winata, 27 - KS Danokota
DL: Jahut Seletar, 28 - Perseguput Gunung Putri

Midfielder

Image

DM: Josua Beripeda
Age: 31
Club: KS Larantuka

The call-up of Beripeda 4 years ago was quite surprising. The regista was playing for PS Ruteng which is a middle-level club in Nainhá. The club never even reached the top 4 of Liga Mese Nainhá but Beripeda's performance caught the eye of Teuku Syarkawi. His flexibility is amazing. Although originally a defensive midfielder, he could move forward to help the attack. He is also comfortable playing as a sweeper. This versatility makes Beripeda a unique addition to the national team. He signed for the champion of Nainhá, KS Larantuka before the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang season to challenge himself at the highest level in Sendhang football and it was arguably the best transfer of the season as Beripeda went on to become the Liga Super Sendhang’s best player of the year in the first 2 season of the Liga Super Sendhang and helped KS Larantuka to clinch a few titles.

Image

MC: Teuku Hassan Al Qari
Age: 34
Club: KS Tapaklaboh

Teuku Hassan Al-Qari is the captain of KS Tapaklaboh. He is very highly respected by his teammates. He spent his entire career with KS Tapaklaboh. The emergence of Teuku Herman 4 seasons ago, a KS Tapaklaboh academy graduate challenged Hassan's place in the starting eleven but Syarkawi is confident that Hassan can maintain his form and skills for the foreseeable future and deserved his place in the starting eleven of the national team. His main quality is his creativity, vision, and passing ability. Hassan is another player that the national team can rely on to take the free kicks and corner kicks.

Image

MC: Nanang Wirajuda
Age: 32
Club: KS Danokota

Nanang Wirajuda was a key player for KS Danokota for the past few seasons in which they clinched the Liga Perdana Alamsunda title in the last 3 seasons before Liga Super Sendhang was introduced. He is usually deployed as an advanced playmaker or a box-to-box midfielder at his club. Sendhangite will be looking to see Nanang replicate his club form for the national team especially with his composure, long-range passing, and high stamina. He is the deal-ball specialist for his club and the national team.

Bench:
DM: Jorok Mendriq, 25 - Perseguput Gunung Putri
MC: Wedhus Geni, 28 - KS Gunung Kayasu
MC: Teuku Herman, 23 - KS Tapaklaboh

Forward

Image

AMR: Ramon Kalbasi
Age: 28
Club: KS Larantuka

Ramon Kalbasi is one of the standout performers for KS Larantuka in the past 3 seasons, in which they finished as runner-up before clinching the title 2 seasons ago and finished runner-up again last season. His trickery and dribbling skills caught the eye of many and earned him a spot in the Liga Super Sendhang’s best XI of the year award in all 3 Liga Super Sendhang seasons so far. The right inside forward is also a huge threat in terms of goalscoring as he went on to be the second top goalscorer in the league behind Teuku Salahuddin in the first 2 seasons before winning the golden boot 2 seasons ago.

Image

AML: Keylar Samoi
Age: 31
Club: KS Gunung Kayasu

Keylar Samoi is the main attacking threat for his club, KS Gunung Kayasu and led them to their first ever Liga Lemah Banyu title last season. He mainly plays on the left-wing but is also comfortable playing as a striker. His main strength is his pace, dribbling, and long shot. He also showed that he can be a goalscoring threat 2 seasons ago as he finished third in the top goalscorer chart of the Liga Super Sendhang behind Ramon Kalbasi and Teuku Salahudin.

Image

ST: Teuku Salahuddin
Age: 24
Club: KS Tapaklaboh

Teuku Salahuddin confirmed his status as the best striker in the country 3 seasons ago after winning 3 end-of-season Liga Super Sendhang awards, the most award won by a single player. Salahudin led the line of attack for Sendhang for the first time in the World Cup 89 qualifiers after winning the striker of the year, young player of the year as well as the golden boot award. The 90th World Cup qualifier was Salahudin's second tournament as the main striker after getting the nod to start towards the end of the 89th World Cup qualifier. Standing at only 170cm, Salahuddin is miniature in size but very quick and clinical in finishing. He won the golden boot award 3 seasons ago and is the second highest goalscorer in the Liga Super Sendhang 2 seasons ago.

Bench:
Image

AMR - Temiar Kintak
Age: 31
Club: Perseguput Gunung Putri

Temiar Kintak is not known for his goalscoring ability but he ticked all the boxes preferred by Syarkawi to fill this position. He is a very hardworking player who will help the defense, probably run on 3 lungs because he never gets tired and most importantly has the pace and trickery to launch a counter-attack when they won the ball.

Image

AML: Cezar Nowela
Age: 27
Club: KS Larantuka

Unlike most of the players in the national team squad, Cezar Nowela was not part of the original squad that participated in the 7th Melayu Archipelago Cup, Sendhang's first-ever competitive international tournament. The left inside forward was only called up 3 years ago after his performance with KS Larantuka in the first few Liga Super Sendhang matches 3 seasons ago caught the eye of Teuku Syarkawi. Sendhangite will be looking for Nowela’s pace when hitting the opponent on the break as well as getting into the opponent’s penalty box for a goalscoring chance.

Image

ST - Gusti Sing Nggawe
Age: 32
Club: Perserejo Kratonredjo

Gusti Sing Nggawe was the star of the national team before Teuku Salahudin took over that role. He was the top goal scorer of Liga Lemah Banyu 2 and helped Pesisir United to a third-place finish, enough for them to earn a spot in the new Liga Super Sendhang 4 seasons ago. He gained national prominence after scoring 5 of the 7 goals for Sendhang in the 7th Melayu Archipelago Cup especially after scoring the winning goal against Trolleborg. He then went on to score 16 goals in his first 13 international appearances. He is a very good header of the ball, has good first touch, and is very sharp in the penalty box but lost his place to Salahudin after a bad year in front of goal 2 years ago. He moved to Perserejo Kratonredjo at the start of 2 seasons ago to rejuvenate his touch in front of goal and helped his new club to a second-place finish in his debut season as the third-highest scoring player in the league behind Teuku Salahudin and Ramon Kalbasi.
