Burping here is a sign of RESPECT and APPRECIATION; it shows the host or chef that you enjoyed their cooking. In fact it is rude to NOT burp, especially in someone's home when they have invited you for a meal. Failure to burp after a meal has ended many friendships, jeopardized business deals, and even provoked fistfights between restaurant owners and guests. Furthermore, foreigners who refuse to burp have been arrested, lashed, and deported from Hellholistan for disrespecting the local culture. Hellholistanis ABHOR western imperialism and foreign meddling; western table manners are part of that. Therefore they hold on tightly to their habits, like burping to signify appreciation, eating with the hands instead of forks, and riding camels, even though everyone else finds it grotesque and uncivilized.
