2025: The Great Struggle

OOC||Map: Coming soon

The 2020s. A decade set to be nightmarish and a turning point in the history of humanity. Climate Change is the existential threat that must urgently be tackled in this decade, and humanity must learn to cope with the constantly growing population that does not look likely to slow down let alone stop growing anytime soon.

In Asia, the Chinese Dragon is emerging as the regional hegemon, pushing regional nations to choose sides between them and the West while internally the regime battles against resistance in Hong Kong and ethnic tension in the far West, while also pushing claims on Taiwan, stoking regional flames. In India, the nation is dealing with religious unrest and rapid economic growth and modernization as well as increasing tension along the border with Pakistan, particularly in the Kashmir Region. Japan has continued to cause consternation with its neighbors after proudly displaying the Rising Sun flag at the Tokyo Olympics.

In Europe, Euroskepticism is on the rise in many European nations. Russian aggression looms to the East as the security order of Europe is rapidly changing to meet the threat. In Spain regional tensions threaten to explode between Madrid and Barcelona while Poland and the Visegrad Group continue to openly defy the EU.

In the Middle East, tensions between Israel and Iran are at an all-time high. Adding to this is the emerging regional cold war between Saudi Arabia and Iran. In Yemen, the civil war still burns as a testing ground for this regional cold war.

In Africa, ethnic and religious tensions pose a danger all over the continent. In the Congo, warlords fight over land and resources like coltan offering fortunes on the international market. In the Saraha and Sahel regions, remnants of ISIS and other organizations ravage the land and people. Ethiopia and Egypt are at each other's throats over the construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam by Ethiopia. Yet there are lights of hope that still sparkle.

In North America, Canada is dealing with ever-increasing political divides much like the US to the South. Inside the US tensions between Republicans and Democrats have never seemed worse. In Mexico, the Cartels fight hard against the central government in Mexico City their corruption touches most parts of the nation.

In Latin America, the dictator Nicholas Maduro still clings to power even as his position is contested by Juan Guaidó. In Colombia, an unstable peace agreement official holds peace between the government and FARC.

How will the nations of the world tackle these issues? How will their pasts define their future, which nations will come out on top during this decade, and how will future generations remember this critical decade?

In this roleplay, you will take the helm of the nation of your choice. You have the ability to change the history of your nation from 2000 onwards within realism and with a few major event exceptions as well as anything stated in the OP or other applications.

Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey addresses the country in New Years' Address

LONDON - UK Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey, of the Labour Party, addressed the nation in her New Years' Address, pre-recorded and televised across the country on the morning of January 1, 2025, New Years' Day. The PM, who has served as Britain's head of government since 2021, addressed her constituents and the British Government for the first time in the New Year, reaffirming her government's commitment to the completion of the Eco Britain 2025 and the Renewed Education Plan 2030, as well as her intention to run once more for Prime Minister in the 2025 general elections as Labour's leader.

The Prime Minister furthermore addressed concerns about slow but steady increases in unemployment in recent months, describing it as 'normal market fluctuations that the government will repair at the soonest moment'. Ms. Long-Bailey in addition laid down her plans to increase US-UK military cooperation that year and begin the process of "British individualization", a policy that has been in the works for years by Labour and lays down a plan to distance Britain from its European allies and turn Britain into a 'global Britain'.

Tories demoralized by new polls showing 54% Labour preference over 42% Tory preference, 3.5% Liberal Democratic preference

LONDON - Internal memos show the Tories 'severely demoralized' by new polls by British polling companies and newspapers showing a 54% preference for Labour against 42% preference for the Tories and 3.5% for the Liberal Democrats, with 0.5% preference for other parties. The polls, conducted from December 19 to 24 2024 show a slide in support for the Tories, who previously saw 46% preference against Labour's 51% preference in the late November surveys. The decline in Tory support in recent months ahead of the May 2025 general elections could be indicative of yet another landslide Labour victory just like Britain saw in the 2021 general election that put Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey into office.

Meanwhile, preference for the Lib Dems rose by 1% since the November survey, showing the possible start of significant growth for the Lib Dems. However this survey performance has yet to match its highest number in recent years of 11% preference in June 2023. MP Daisy Cooper, leader of the Liberal Democrats, said to the BBC that the 1% increase was 'small yet indicative' for the Lib Dems.

What is the Global Britain initiative and what does it mean for Britain-Europe relations?

LONDON - The Global Britain Initiative is a multi-year medium term plan launched by Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey and supported by the Liberal Democrats and the Labour Party which aims to prioritize British goods first and the US-UK relationship as well as Britain's partnerships with Asian and African countries, in an attempt to counterbalance Chinese and Russian influence in those regions. In short, the plan transfers Britain's focus from its relationship with Europe to its relationship with the United States and East Asian and African countries, which the Long-Bailey government see as more beneficial for Britain in the long-term.

The plan seeks to distance Britain in a small way from its European allies to facilitate for the focusing of Britain's foreign policy on Far East and African affairs, where Britain will seek to establish fruitful partnerships and new alliances and agreements.

The plan is strongly opposed by the Tories, who have long been the champion of UK-Europe and specifically UK-France and UK-Germany relations. However, with public support for Britain's longstanding military partnership with Germany waning and support for a 'truly global Britain' growing, it is unlikely that the Global Britain initiative will fail to pass, at least according to current estimates.

French President Emmanuel Macron Happy New Year's Message To French People and Allies:

Paris- French President Emmanuel Macron, addressed the nation and specifically the French people. Président du La Republiqué spoke live and his address was broadcasted on all news stations.
Président Macron congratulated his cabinet, Parliament, party members as well as his supporters.
Président reiterated his commitment to the service of the French people and re-stated his position that he's in Élysée Palace as a public servant of the French people and that it is his responsibility to work for the security, protection and welfare of the French as well as all Europeans.

Président forwarded his New Year's best wishes and luck to US President, British Prime Minister, German President, and Indian Prime Minister along with other European leaders. Président Macron said that the strength of Europe lies in its unity and harmony. Président Macron reaffirmed that he'll not allow anyone to fiddle or meddle in the politics of the European continent and no ‘‘foreign powers’’ would be allowed to create ‘‘Europe a playground for their ambitions.’’ Président stressed that he'll not stop until Europe achieves ‘‘strategic autonomy’’ and is ‘‘truly independent’’. According to Président:
‘‘European Union is stronger than ever and is moving towards closer integration economically, strategically and by all means.’’

In his long address, he also described how he intends to create a stronger EU and how the Franco-German Cooperation was stronger than ever. Président Macron said that under him more than 2 million jobs were created and the French economy is projected to grow at 4% a year he'll work with other EU members to create more jobs for all Europeans.

Président Macron and Far-Right Lock Thorns Over the Ban Of Hijab:

Paris- Président Macron and Far-Right Leader Benjamin Holland clashed over the ban on Hijab and increasing radicalisation among the youth of French Muslims. Président Macron stressed that ‘‘France is a secular, free and open democratic society. In France, you can worship whoever you want you can wear whatever you want you can have different political opinions. If (I) as the Président du La Republiqué ban hijab it'd mean that I'm violating the constitution of the republiqué. I can't do that. The effects would be the opposite instead of a decrease in radicalisation there would be an outcry that French people don't like Muslims or French don't respect Prophet Muhammad. I was shocked to hear that English media was saying ‘‘the French are Islamophobes they hate Prophet Muhammad’’. I won't ban the hijab because it constitutes a violation of the constitution of the republiqué. But I ask all Muslims to keep their faith in private and worship however they want wherever they want and whenever they want but... above all respect the laws and constitution of the republiqué.’’

In response, the far-right lashed out at Président Macron with the leader of the far-right Benjamin Holland saying ‘‘This Président isn't ready to take the tough or concrete steps to combat the roots of terrorism. This Président has shown his incapability to preserve the French culture and customs. If we want to preserve our french identity then we must ban the hijab and we must do it now.’’

The Hijab ban has been of the most contentious issues between French Président and the far-right. It was one of the polemical issues during the French elections in 2022 in which Président Macron slammed his opponent Marie le Pen regarding the Muslims and hijab ban.

France to strengthen alliances in Asia to ensure the free and open Indo-Pacific for Europe:

Luxembourg City- France is looking to strengthen its alliance in East and Southeast Asia as the race for dominance in the Indo-Pacific risk turning hot. French Président Emmanuel Macron's top diplomatic envoy foreign Minister Jéan Yves Le Drian would be visiting Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia as the fears of Chinese hegemony in the region grows.

Indo-Pacific has been the hotspot in recent decades as it is one of the major spots where the US-Chinese rivalry could be sensed in a true manner. France has argued for a free and open Indo-Pacific for everyone. The French Foreign Ministry noted that the Indo-Pacific region is of enormous importance to the European Union given that the region holds 60 per cent of global wealth, three-fifths of the world's population, and has a growing strategic footprint in the changing geopolitical balance.

Lukashenko absent at New Year's celebrations

Minsk- Confusion swept the country after President Alexander Lukashenko failed to turn up at the annual New Years' celebrations. Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko ensured the people that the president was okay; but had fell ill with COVID-19 after a scheduled visit to Russia. Golovchenko announced Belarus' continued support of Russia and her allies; regardless of whomever is in charge, and is keen on remaining skeptical towards the European Union.

Prime Minister Golovchenko also announced that crackdowns on opposition movements will continue, calling them an "affront to Belarus", and "treasonous rats." This, of course, continues the policies put in place by the president and his advisors. It is suspected that this decision will only lead to further protests; whether or not those orchestrating such are doing it legally or not.

According to Golovchenko, Lukashenko is planning to address the nation once he recovers.

Military spending increases; borders with Poland fortified

Minsk- As tensions continue to heat up between Poland and the European Union, the Armed Forces of Belarus have received an increase in funding, and have since worked to fortify their borders with the Poles; citing both political stability and the possibility of pro-EU refugees. This was met with opposition from various "pro-democratic" groups. Golovchenko has proposed to meet with the Russian president to discuss the matter.

It is suspected that this could result in, of course, more tensions between the EU and Belarus. After all, for years the two had opposed each other. Whether it be on political grounds or social grounds, it's unlikely that the two would really be able to mend their relations as of now.

(OOC: I'll continue this once someone chooses to play as Poland)

Belarus denounces France

Minsk- As the French government and the far-right debate over the potential ban of hijab, the Belarusian government has denounced their French counterparts, claiming that they are "promoting political instability" and "alienating a sizeable part of their population". Countering the on-going claims of Belarus being "corrupt" and a "dictatorship", Prime Minister Golovchenko stated the following:

"Now, were we to be the only European dictatorship, why is it that France can dismiss the ideas of their opposition? They, and all of the European Union, have long accused our great nation of being authoritarian; but I can only assume that France will end up just the same. Regardless of their political compass, what happened to 'democracy'? Why hide behind the idea of 'secularism' so that you don't have to face those you don't agree with?"

The Belarusian government awaits the French response.

April 25 House of Culture, Pyongyang, Democratic People's Republic of Korea:

It was January 20 for the Gregorian calender world. The 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was about to kick off in one of Pyongyang's many grand but empty and silent theaters, the April 25 House of Culture.

In 2024, a suprising decision was passed a year ago by the Worker's Party that forced them to hold a conference every four years, starting on, coincidentally, January 20, 2025.

Some people were elected during the boring and hot meeting. Of course, the supreme leader Kim Jong-un got a free spot in the Party's leadership, obviously.

However, Kim Jong-un promised to help the general populace and the country when he made the following speech, later translated and broadcasted by the Korean Central News Agency:

Code: Select all
Hello, my prosperous Korean people, I know that we encounter hardships to this day, which cannot be solved immediately.

However, I promise that I will make all of your lives better, in a strong country at worldwide rank.

Thank you for listening to this short speech, and glory to the people.

After some time, the people of North Korea and international watchers are wondering how he will help the people.

‘New Russia’ Economic policy sees new progress

The new drive from the newly elected President Alexei Dyumin has seen new progress as the new “Caucus Economic Development Zone” sees the investment of $500 million for new nodes of economic activity and infrastructure. Particularly, it will help develop new modes of transport south into Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Iran to facilitate easier trade and create new jobs and new exports based on natural resources, particularly in the zone of natural gas and iron, as well as others including zinc, gold, and coal. Prescient Dyumin himself was in Pyatigorsk where he even met privately with Ramzan Kadyrov for several hours.

The Caucus Economic Zone joins the Central Economic Zone and the South-European Zone as the newest developments through the New Russia economic plan passed by Dyumin early in his presidency. Dyumin and Kadyrov both expressed the benefits of the zone, not only in creating more and better paying jobs, but also to increase the overall exports of the Russian economy, particularly to allied nations of the Caucuses, Central Asia, and China.

The visit to Pyatigorsk comes just days after President Dyumin’s visit to Crimea, where the South-Europe zone is primarily focused there on natural gas through the Black Sea. While in Crimea, Dyumin hailed the progress of the autonomous republic in its reintegration into the Russian Federation and the smoothness by which the process has moved, while also condemning Ukraine and the West for refusing to recognize the internationally certified referendum and continuing to block the North Crimean Canal, which supplies 85% of Crimea’s water. During his public address, Dyumin called the blocking of the canal “an act of terror”, as is threatened the lives of the millions of Crimean people who needed the water to survive, while also praising the efforts of Crimea and the Russians who have worked to supply water into Crimea since 2014. Dyumin also stated that “The Kiev government continues to embark on attacks that threaten innocent civilians and a refusal to abide by the will of the people in its path of terror” and he named several of the various Ukrainian Nationalist groups as the key instigators and blocks towards a pathway to peace.

Russian Air Force conducts several new strikes against ISIS forces in Syria; Dyumin reaffirms global security initiatives

The Russian Air Force has conducted several new strikes against ISIS forces across Syria, as well as confirming the deaths of several terrorist rebel factions in the north. In all, 31 airstrike have been carried out since the beginning of this year. In ascending to the presidency, Alexei Dyumin had made it clear to Russia’s allies, that they could still continue to count on Russia in dealing with security threats. Russian members of the Wagner Group and other Russian forces continue to work in Syria, Central African Republic, and Mali after the French military presence was rejected by the Mali government in 2022, in cooperating with the governments in security matters.

The continued war in Syria has seen progress in the government’s moves to eradicate the terrorist elements that continue to hold parts of the North, however, the Turkish and American backed forces still hold a long area of the northern stretches of Syria, where battles are continued to be fought between Turkish-backed Syrian forces and the Kurdish SDF supported by the Syrian Army.

President Dyumin calls for ‘long term solution’ to the Donbas Crisis

President Dyumin in a public address from Moscow earlier this week, called for a “long term solution” to be met concerning the War in Donbas. In the address, Dyumin criticized the Ukrainian government for its continued aggressions against the LPR and DPR, particularly against the city of Donetsk. A missile strike in the city killed 2 civilians early in the year as strikes continue to happen across the territories. Dyumin criticized the Ukrainian government and the Azov Battalion for carrying out the strikes and said that “the situation is unsustainable for the people of Donetsk who have no protection against the strikes of the Ukrainian nationalists” and that such efforts would require “the direct protection from anti-air defences”. Something that is not currently allowed for by the Minsk agreements.

Dyumin further addressed the European powers to “restrain the Ukrainian government and prevent these attacks” or else “the Russian government will have to take steps to secure the airspace over Donetsk”. Dyumin did not elaborate further on what steps he meant, however, Denis Pushilin, head of the DPR, said that Russian forces could “protect” the DPR by supplying air defence systems such as the S-300 and S-400. Pushilin stated that the position of the DPR was “being closed in” by Ukrainian nationalists who “had no care for the Minsk protocols or peace at all.”

These public addresses come as several Russian Army and Air Force units have been strategically redeployed closer to the Ukrainian border and before the meeting between the DPR and LPR leaders and Alexei Dyumin on February 4th.

Kier Starmer, Foreign Secretary, calls for Labour leadership elections ahead of May general elections

LONDON - Kier Starmer, current Foreign Secretary under Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey, called during a press conference on Jan 12 for a snap Labour leadership election ahead of the May 2025 general elections, in which Long-Bailey's moderate Labour Party is expected to win significant gains over the seriously weakened Conservatives. Starmer, a staunch centrist and longtime rival of Long-Bailey, stated that 'the politics and ideas of our current leader no longer aligns with the goal of the party, which is to put people over profit' and 'I pity those voters who feel left out by Ms. Long-Bailey's elitist politics'. The tirade against the Prime Minister is yet another episode in the standoff between Starmer and Long-Bailey, who have been fighting for control over the Labour Party.

Starmer has been the Member of Parliament for Holborn and St. Pancras since 2015, and from 2018 to 2021 served as the Shadow Secretary for Foreign Affairs and in 2021 was nominated by Long-Bailey as Foreign Secretary. Long-Bailey has been the Member of Parliament for Salford and Eccles since 2015 and has served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2021, where she defeated Conservative candidate Dominic Raab by a landslide in the 2021 general elections.

Long-Bailey has yet to formally respond to these calls, but has stated before she is open to a leadership election between herself and Starmer to 'truly decide who should lead our party'.

Britain is a fortress against Chinese socialism, Russian autocracy, Long-Bailey declares

LONDON - In a speech at the Chatham House Institute for International Affairs on Jan 13 2022, Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey launched a verbal tirade against the 'growing clutches of imperialist China and Russia' in Africa and Asia, and declared that Britain was a 'lone fortress' against 'Chinese socialism, Russian autocracy and the vile of this world'. PM Long-Bailey has been historically hard on defending Asia and Africa from the influence of Beijing and Moscow especially in the 21st century and with the exponential rise of the People's Republic, a stance criticized by moderates in her own party and by the Conservatives, who describe the Prime Minister as hawkish.

The declaration comes after the Prime Minister's recent announcement of her "Global Britain initiative", which intends to combat Chinese and Russian influence in the African and Asian continents indirectly, potentially through economic and indirect proxy warfare. The Prime Minister has been a staunch critic of Chinese and Russian expansion of influence, in contrast to her predecessor Boris Johnson, who preferred a 'hands-off, pro-peace' approach to dealing with the growing influence of Moscow and Beijing.

Labour promises to boost immigration caps, prohibit discrimination against minorities fully and permanently if re-elected with majority

LONDON - The Labour Party intends to boost immigration caps and prohibit discrimination against minorities 'fully and permanently', according to a new portion of the Labour manifesto released on the party's official social media accounts. Labour's immigration agenda has been extremely liberal under the leadership of Rebecca Long-Bailey, who will likely be seeking re-election as prime minister in this May's general election. The Labour agenda on immigration from 2025 to 2030 intends to boost immigration caps by 5.5% in 2025, 6.5% in 2026, 9.5% in 2027, and a sustained 5% increase from 2028 to 2030. This is accompanied by proposed legislation prohibiting any and all discrimination by private or public individuals or entities fully and permanently.

The radical change in position on immigration policy by Labour is expected to move support from more conservative socialists over to the Conservative Party, who has in past months been championing a policy of 'Britons First' as an integral part of its campaign.

Elisabeth Borne: Who is France's new prime minister and what's on her to-do list?

Centrist politician Elisabeth Borne was appointed France’s new prime minister on Monday, becoming the second woman to hold the post in the country.

Borne, 61, who was labour minister in the previous government, succeeds Jean Castex, who resigned earlier in the day.

"Ecology, health, education, full employment, democratic revival, Europe and security: together, with the new government, we will continue to act tirelessly for the French people," French President Emmanuel Macron said on Twitter shortly after Borne's appointment.

It comes after Macron was re-elected as French president last month, beating far-right candidate Marine Le Pen in a run-off vote.

France is due to hold parliamentary elections in June.

Who is Elisabeth Borne?

Borne spoke soon after her appointment, noting the emotions she felt at being selected for the highest office a woman has ever held in French political leadership.

“I would like to dedicate this nomination to all the little girls by telling them ‘Go after your dreams!’ Nothing should stop the fight for the place of women in our society,” she said.

Borne is the second woman to hold the position of prime minister in the country after Edith Cresson, who served from 1991 to 1992 under socialist president Francois Mitterrand.

As labour minister since 2020, Borne implemented changes that made it harder for jobless people to get benefits and reduced monthly payments for some unemployed people, prompting criticism from workers' unions and from the left.

In 2018, as transport minister, Borne faced a major strike from the SNCF railway company against plans to open the train network to competition and end newly-hired employees’ right to retain jobs and benefits for life. She ultimately managed to pass the bill.

Borne, who has never held an elected office, was at the beginning of her career close to the traditional left.

She notably worked as chief of staff to Socialist politician Ségolène Royal, and then as ecology minister under President Francois Hollande.

Borne then became CEO in 2015 of the state-owned transport company RATP, which operates the Paris metro.

She joined Macron’s centrist party in 2017. She was first transport minister and then minister of ecological transition in Macron’s first government.

In her speech at Matignon, Borne dedicated her appointment to "all the little girls" and invited them to "follow their dreams".

"Nothing must slow down the fight for the place of women in our society," she added.

Why did Castex resign?
Castex resigned in an expected move after Macron's re-election last month.

Castex came to the Elysée presidential palace on Monday to formally offer his resignation, which the president “accepted”, the Elysée said in a statement.

In France, it's common for presidents to have more than one prime minister during their terms.

Castex said on Monday that he would "continue to serve the country" but would "take a step aside by leaving national politics".

What will Borne tackle first?

The new prime minister’s first mission will be to make sure that Macron’s centrist party and its allies do well in France's parliamentary election in June.

The vote, scheduled for two rounds, will determine which group holds the majority of seats at the National Assembly, which has the final say over the Senate in France's law-making process.

Macron also promised a bill addressing the rising cost of living in France, where food and energy prices are surging. It will be prepared by his new government and is expected to be presented just after the parliamentary election.

If Macron’s party wins a majority in the Assembly, Borne will then need to ensure that pension changes promised by the president are put into law, including raising the minimum retirement age from 62 to 65.

The proposed changes have been criticised by workers, unions and left-wing voters.

Macron also promised that the new prime minister would be directly in charge of “green planning,” seeking to accelerate France's implementation of climate-related policies. Macron vowed to go “twice as fast” in his second term to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

French Economy To Grow At Astonishing 6.4%; Became The Fastest Growing Economy Among The Advanced Economies:

Washington DC- According to the IMF and World Bank projections French economy is expected to continue its booming growth steadfastly without any gridlock. French Economy after the Covid pandemic bounced back as the fastest-growing economy in Europe and Eurozone.

After years of measuring unfavourably against Europe’s economic powerhouse Germany, France finally has something to crow about. The divergence is due to fortuitously timed tax cuts and less reliance on exports, but it also reflects early dividends from President Emmanuel Macron’s reforms that aim to sow the seeds of longer-term growth.

Evidence that there’s more to the story than timing can be seen in the robust business investment that’s followed Macron’s corporate-tax cuts, and increases in employment after changes to labour laws. The pace of job creation is so fast that economists struggle to explain it, and Bank of France chief economist Olivier Garnier has described it as “remarkable.”

“With respect to economic policies, we have an all thumbs up for France,” said Berenberg European Economist Florian Hense. “Whether it’s Germany in the early 2000s or France now, the labour market is actually key for all layers of the economy.”

The awakening of the French economy gave Macron political capital to push his agenda. That includes a more active industrial policy and building European champions to rival the U.S. and China, and more sharing of resources between member states.

France is attracting a growing share of foreign investment, and existing businesses have also kept spending.

At Axa, chief economist Gilles Moec says ultra-loose European Central Bank monetary policy may also be playing a part in the relative strength of French investment. Crucially, the share of new jobs with stable, permanent contracts has been rising since Macron changed laws that companies said discouraged hiring.

The government is also trumpeting a more favourable environment for business since he cut wealth taxes and put the corporate tax on a downward trajectory. Investment is rising, and the number of new start-ups has surged to record levels since Macron’s election.

At the start of this month, changes to unemployment benefits kicked in that aim to encourage workers to take jobs and employers to offer better contracts. He’s also embarking on a top-to-bottom overhaul of the pension system that would in theory allow workers to be more mobile.

On top of that, the government is considering more tax cuts for companies producing in France and changes to strategic sectors where the state invests.

“Nothing will make us retreat from transforming the country,” French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said last month on RTL Radio. “Emmanuel Macron was elected for that.”

Président Emmanuel Macron pledged an increase in the French defence budget to meet the NATO demands and deal with an increasingly hostile security landscape:

Paris- Yesterday, in a speech to French Assemblée Nationale Président Macron announced an increase in France's defence budget. The current French Defence Budget is among the top six highest military expenditures in the world with €150 billion Euros in 2024. Président Macron said he wants this figure to go up to €200 billion Euros.

According the Président:

‘‘The days of the peace and security of the post-Cold War Europe are long gone. I'd be lying if I said that there is no threat to France or Europe and we should decrease our defence budget.
Today, we live in a world where the risk of a major conflict is at an all-time high probably since the Cuban Missile Crisis. Therefore, this step is necessary.’’

The decision came amid rising tensions in Eastern Europe and the fresh deployment of Russian troops with the Ukrainian border. Russian President remarked ‘‘that he'd take necessary measures required to defend his country’’ but didn't describe what those measures could be.

Many analysts believe that a Russian invasion of Ukraine could be building up as shown by the stationing of the Russian troops alongside the Ukrainian border. Russia invaded and annexed Crimea in 2014 after which the United States and European Union imposed sanctions on the Kremlin.

France to send 3,000 troops to the Baltics States and 5,000 troops to Poland As France And Germany Pledges ‘‘Commitment To The Allies’’:

Paris- France will send 3,000 troops to the Baltics and 5,000 troops to Poland to shield the Eastern Flank Of NATO. French Minister Of Armed Forces Florénce Parly said:

‘‘France will never abandon its NATO and European Allies no matter what the cost. We believe in the sovereignty of Baltics, Poland and especially Ukraine and will not allow anyone to violate that.’’

The move came after the recent German President who has been on a 2-day visit to France along with his French counterpart decided to up the bar and reinforce the security structure of Europe. In recent years France has been a steadfast supporter of Eastern European nations along with the United States, Britain, Germany, Italy and Canada to support them against a possible Russian invasion.

French Président Macron said:

‘‘If our English friends across the channel think that they are the only ones championing the ideas of democracy, freedom and liberty then I have to tell them they aren't the only ones. Cause we are with them as well.’’

British PM declares “proxy war” against Russia, French forces deploy on Russian-Belarussian border

In a new round of NATO provocations against Russia, British Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey launched into a tirade condemning “imperialist” Russia and China for their actions in the Pacific and Eastern Europe. This comes after the "Global Britain initiative", which intends to combat Chinese and Russian influence in the African and Asian continents indirectly, potentially through economic and indirect proxy warfare. Meanwhile, France has moved 8,000 troops into Eastern Europe on the border of Russia and Belarus, posing a real and present threat to the security of both nations. Meanwhile, France has also pledged to increase its military budget to ensure their military remains combat ready, with the focus being on the Eurasian theater.

Prime Minister Valentina Matviyenko called her British counterpart’s statement “ironic” and a strong “provocation”. She condemned the British government and said “the declaration of war against Russia, either direct or indirect, is a threat that we will not take lightly.” President Dyumin responded in a press conference concerning NATO’s actions. During which he stated:

“The Global Britain Initiative is just another attempt by the British government and their long standing history of imperialism to remain relevant into the 21st century. They cannot stand to watch as their own former colonies gain their formal and economic independence and operate outside of their path of submission to their Western European overlords. Our operations and peacekeeping initiatives in Africa are done solely with the request and permission of the leadership of the country, something that NATO and the United Kingdom has never cared about. China has done more in terms of economic investment and development than Europe has done in 3 centuries of colonization and imperialism in Africa. This all is a clear sign that the Western Powers cannot abide to see their former cash grabs and holdings operate in a free and open way.

“However, we take the threat of Britain to declare an open proxy and economic war against us and our Chinese partners very seriously. As we look towards our security, we look to first secure our own borders, the security of the Russian people and Russian speakers, and for our economic interests abroad. Given the mobilization of 8,000 French soldiers to the border of Russia and Belarus and the declared intent of Britain to fight with Russia, it is clear of NATO’s intent to weaponize third party states against the Russian Federation. The Western powers do not care for the innocent lives of those at stake, as long as they protect their precious own. They have done so in Syria, in Libya, and now in Africa and potentially Ukraine. Something that we cannot allow to happen.”

President Dyumin made no comment on the recent mobilizations of Russian troops along the Ukrainian border.

To: President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus
From: President Alexei Dyumin of the Russian Federation

Greetings,

I believe it is important for us to meet together to discuss the security situation that faces the Union State. The actions and declarations of France and the United Kingdom pose a real and present danger to the security of the Russian and Belarussian people. It is a prerogative for us to meet to coordinate our options for our security.

Sincerely,
Alexei Dyumin

To: President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China
From: President Alexei Dyumin of the Russian Federation

Greetings,

Given the security threats posed by the United Kingdom, France, and of course the United States, I believe it is important for us to meet to discuss mutual security and to develop closer economic ties in the Eurasian region. The threats that have been laid are against both of our nations and its important that we coordinate and work together where and how we can. I believe that we can find many more avenues by which we can work together on for economic development and connection.

The actions and threats from Western imperialists have grown stronger and it is, I believe, important that we work together to face this. It would be a great honour for me to visit Beijing so we can discuss these issues together.

Sincerely,

Alexei Dyumin

New Monument To Be Unveiled in Seoul Tomorrow
SEOUL - President Cho Dae-jung (NRP) will be present during the unveiling of a new patriotic monument in Seoul tomorrow. The monument, dubbed the "National Liberation Monument" (민족해방기념비), is dedicated to Koreans who fought to liberate our homeland from Japanese oppression. President Cho Dae-jung described the monument as being a positive counterpart to the Yasukuni Shrine, a filthy "memorial site" set up by the Japanese following the destruction of their evil empire. The monument will obviously trigger the filthy Japanese, because they no longer have an empire to control. The construction of the monument began back in 2022 and was just finished two days ago. Tomorrow will be a glorious day for our homeland as the monument is unveiled for the whole world to see.

Pro-Japanese Forum To Be Shut Down Soon
SOUTH KOREA - Ilbe Storehouse (일간베스트 저장소), a controversial Internet forum, is due to be shut down by the government. The reason fro the shutdown is that the forum and its users have engaged in activities that can only be described as high treason due to the obvious promotion of Japan and its culture. The users are shown to be very pro-Japanese, while one of them had allegedly made fun of comfort women back in 2013. As such, these users shall hereby be referred to as chinilpa. Both our glorious leader, President Cho Dae-jung, and his political party, the National Republican Party (국민공화당/NRP), were reportedly repulsed by the forum and its traitorous users. Our Minister of Information and Communications, Nam Jong-hyuk (NRP), has announced plans to sharply shut down the website and identify its users, while also linking it to its Japanese counterpart, 2chan. President Cho Dae-jung has also more to say about the website during an interview with Yonhap News Agency:

"Ilbe Storehouse is the filthiest place on the whole Internet. It is obviously a meeting place for Koreans who have clearly shown no respect for their homeland and rather pledges allegiance to the barbaric nation of Japan. Those traitors deserve to be stripped of their civil and political rights as such rights are only for the most patriotic Koreans. That website needs to be shut down so that no more pro-Japanese propaganda can be produced within our glorious homeland."

Prior to the making of this article, Ilbe Storehouse had organized a smear campaign against President Cho Dae-jung and his party. The campaign produced artwork and fake pictures that depicts the President engaging in awful activities, while also sending death threats to his followers. As a result, the brave NRP supporters have launched protests against the website and called for its ultimate shutdown. President Cho Dae-jung is thankful that his supporters are speaking out against the website.

British Prime Minister Antagonizes China and Russia
UNITED KINGDOM - Rebecca Long-Bailey (Labour), the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), had recently launched a verbal tirade against China and Russia in regards to the two countries' "imperialist agenda" in Africa and Asia. The tirade took place during a speech at the Chatham House Institute for International Affairs on January 13, 2025. The Prime Minister also described the UK as a "lone fortress against Chinese socialism, Russian aggression and the vile of this world". She had long been vehement in her defense of Asia and Africa from Sino-Russian influence, a stance which has been criticized as "hawkish" by both moderate Labour Party members and the Conservative Party. The tirade came after the Prime Minister announced her "Global British Initiative", which is meant to combat joint Sino-Russian influence in both Asia and Africa through proxy war. She had also been a outspoken critic of Russia and China in regards to foreign policy, which differs her from Boris Johnson, who wished to deal with Russia and China through a "hands off, pro-peace" approach. Reactions in South Korea have so far been mixed, with most Koreans being very critical of Rebecca's diplomatic agenda, while supporters of the ruling National Republican Party (국민공화당/NRP) preferred that she rather takes a hardline stance against the "lousy Japanese". President Cho Dae-jung (NRP) had wholeheartedly agreed with his supporters and recommended that the UK de-escalate tensions with both Russia and China in favor of "dealing with the Japanese revanchists".

South Korean Government To Shut Down Controversial Internet Forum
SOUTH KOREA - The Ministry of Information and Communications (정보통신부/MIC) has planned on shutting down Ilbe Storehouse (일간베스트 저장소), a controversial far-right Internet forum, due to the latter's alleged support for Japan. The plans for such shutdown was announced by Nam Jong-hyuk (NRP), the newly-appointed head of the MIC, which came after Ilbe Storehouse had allegedly launched a smear campaign against both President Cho Dae-jung (NRP) and the ruling National Republican Party (국민공화당/NRP), as well as having sent death threats to NRP supporters. The reason for the planned shutdown seems to be contrary to the fact that Ilbe Storehouse is usually notorious for its users' hatred towards liberalism, socialism, feminism and LGBT rights. However, President Cho Dae-jung has accused the website of being "pro-Japanese" and "anti-patriotic", while also referring to its users as "chinilpa". He had recently said in an interview that he wishes to strip Ilbe Storehouse users of their civil and political rights, a statement which is notoriously synonymous with his party's hateful stance towards Japan and chinilpa. Many left-leaning Koreans, including politicians Lee Jae-myung (DPK) and Yeo Yeong-gug (JP), have been critical of the government's extreme crackdown on "pro-Japanese activities" within South Korea, while supporters of President Cho Dae-jung praised his efforts to combat "high treason". It is yet to be seen how this situation would end, although the MIC had planned on revealing the identity of every single user on Ilbe Storehouse, a move which will send shockwaves across South Korea.

DPRK Condemns NATO Imperialists
Date: 05/17/2022 | Source: KCNA.kp (En) | Read original version at source

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- A recent speech given by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ri Son-gwon condemned the alliance known as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. He also said that Korea would stand with Russia during peace talks between it and the Ukrainian government, that is misled by NATO, currently.

For those who don't know, the NATO alliance can trace its roots back to the end of the Second World War. It was founded by the imperialist United States and its misled allies as an attempt to combat the policies made by the Soviet Union and its allies that were known to make the lives of their people better. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the alliance remained to combat any remaining resistance -- the Russian government and any other governments that weren't misled by the imperialists.

In 2014, Russia invaded Ukraine in order to prevent the NATO puppet government from taking advantage of the defenseless country. The situation was somehow freezed by Russia and NATO for 10 years that will soon expire. Peace talks are to be held shortly, in a currently unknown location.

Also recently, the United Kingdom -- a puppet government of the United States of America -- has condemned Russia and China in an effort to start another imperialist policy, distinct from the one in the US. The DPRK's leader, Kim Jong-un, has publicly laughed at such a foolish attempt that, in the end, will only damage the United Kingdom itself.

South Korean Puppet Regime To Break Ties With Their Japanese Allies
Date: 05/17/2022 | Source: KCNA.kp (En) | Read original version at source

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- Has the South Korean puppet regime gone insane? What's left of our imperialist Japanese occupiers, a still imperialist government that now is guided under the US imperialist style, has been betrayed by the puppet regime it originally supported.

This is major in the political world, as it could result in other imperialist Japanese allies breaking ties with the puppet government of South Korea, and even formally announcing their support for the true Korean government.

Our reporting team continues to monitor the not-for-long unknown situation...

Presidential Press Conference: Turkmenistan 2.0 Agenda

Image

President Serdar Berdimuhamedow announced in a press conference today his ambitious plan for "Turkmenistan 2.0". A broad reformist agenda that will completely transform the Turkmen state, attract foreign direct investments and raise living standards. The President stated that his agenda has four pillars. "First pillar is digitization," he said. "We need to completely digitize the Turkmen public administration, make it available on a simple portal and allow Turkmen citizens to interact easily and quickly with the state through a mobile app or from a PC in their home. We also need to invest heavily into our telecommunications infrastructure to allow for faster internet connection, so that a digital administration is actually available for all citizens and ensure that this reform is not simply a change for a few privileged elites."

"The second pillar," the President continued, "is to simplify the regulatory framework of Turkmenistan and deal with corruption in public administration in order to attract private direct investments from abroad. I am fully committed to reforming our economic framework by adopting a toolset of liberal economic reforms recommended by the IMF and foreign-educated economists. We need to finally put behind us the Soviet past and embrace fully capitalism. I will also put an end to incidents - isolated by still harmful - of corruption in our public administration. I have zero tolerance for corruption and incompetence."

"The third pillar," the President said, "is to construct the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline. The projected capacity of the pipeline is 30 billion cubic metres (1.1 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas per year. I've already been contacted by foreign governments that wish to cooperate with us on the issue and are willing to invest money into seeing this project become a reality. I cannot divulge more details before a deal is finalized, but rest assured that we will soon be seeing developments on this front."

"The fourth pillar," the President added, "is to invest heavily into our educational system. We need to produce highly-qualified, highly-skilled workers who will power the Turkmen economy and allow us to compete in a globalized economy. Education is of the highest importance for the progress of a nation. Further details with regards to those 'four pillars' will be announced soon enough. I cannot mention specifics yet, but we shall gradually be implementing this agenda."

The bold reformist agenda of the President has been praised by the opposition parties: the Social Democratic Party, the Green Party and the Nationalist Party. While they did criticize the President for not undertaking this agenda earlier, they have pledged to fully support the President's platform in parliament. As a Social Democrat Assemblyman stated, "as this moment we need national unity and to get behind our President". According to a Opinion Polls survey, nearly 98% of the citizens approve of the President's agenda.

Turkmenistan: A Mature and Stable Democracy
Op-Ed by Yengi Sedef

Turkmenistan has evolved into a mature and stable democracy, thanks both to the reformist zeal of the President and the responsible handling of politics by the opposition forces. The President is always willing to listen to the opposition, admit past mistakes and adopt good ideas regardless of their origin. The opposition on the other hand acts responsibly: instead of rejecting everything the President does, it offers productive solutions and supports wholeheartedly the President's agenda when it believes it moves the country to the right direction.

Compare this mature democracy with many Western 'liberal' democracies where arrogant governments reject dialogue and ignore the demands of their people while populist opposition parties opt for a 'no to everything' political strategy that polarizes society and tears down efforts to reform and progress as a country. Turkmenistan has nothing to be jealous about. Our political system is frankly superior to that of many Western democracies.

We have a President who supports international cooperation, who is guided by reformist zeal, who believes in liberalization and freedom of commerce, who values science and supports digitization, who welcomes change instead of opposing it, who abhors populism and divisive politics. How many Western nations, plagued by populist movements that reject science and sound reason, can say the same? How many Western nations are led by actual reformists? We should be proud of this distinction.

Imperialists Wish for Former Glory

The Government of the United Kingdom has shown its true colors. The British Prime Minister, Rebecca Long-Bailey, has declared the creation of the "Global Britain Initiative", a plan to combat Chinese and Russian influence throughout Asia and Africa. In an Era of Peace, the British Government seems to only want to cause needless conflict. Even though the plan calls for "indirect" means, the fact that London believes economic warfare and the use of proxies is needed, shows their lack of vision. An official from the CCP has given us their thoughts on the matter:

"Ever since London lost its empire, its pride has always been wounded. Every nation in the world has been impacted by British Imperialism, for the worse, and now, Britain wishes to return to the days when they were on the top. Those days are over. The Age of Imperialism has long passed. London didn't care about Africa until we've begun to build up these nations. We've invested into them, built infrastructure, and much more. We've done the opposite of them. We didn't strip Africa of its resources. We aren't abusing the populace. No, we've given them the ability to have a better life through peaceful means. If that calls for conflict, then that nation has no morals."

France Deploys Forces to Eastern Europe

France has announced that it would be deploying around 8,000 soldiers to Eastern Europe. While tensions within Eastern Europe has been on the rise, ever since Crimea voted to join the Russian Federation, the deployment of forces would only increase tensions further. France has stated it is "championing the ideas of democracy, freedom and liberty." However, how is the deployment of forces an indicator of that? This is nothing but an act of aggression that seeks to draw conflict with the Russian Federation.

While France is free to deploy forces anywhere within NATO, they must understand how such moves look on a greater scale. Where is the threat of invasion by Russia? The Russian Federation has done much for the world in terms of combating terrorism and peacekeeping. From fighting ISIS in Syria, to providing Peacekeeping in Africa, Russia has brought stability to many parts of the world. It shouldn't be treated as some evil nation that wants to cause a fight.

Conflict should be avoided wherever possible, however it seems that France, and by extension, the west, only wish to create more.

Relations Deteriorate Between South Korea and Japan

Ever since the Hyeongje Movement taken over in South Korea, relations between the two nations have dropped further. While the two nations have always had an icy relationship, due to the atrocities committed by Japan during their occupation of Korea, and the refusal to commit to a formal apology, things have further soured as the nationalist movement commits to actions that would antagonize Japan.

The Government has shut down a internet forum called Ilbe Storehouse, which seemed to have been a Pro-Japanese forum. While we cannot comment of the contents of the forum, the government felt that there was enough evidence to justify a shutdown.

Seoul also plans to reveal a monument in the city. Not much is known about it, other than the fact that it would "trigger" the Japanese. Clearly relations between the two nations won't improve for sometime.

To: President Alexei Dyumin of the Russian Federation
From: President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China

Our Friends in Moscow,

In a time where peace and diplomacy should reign supreme, it is just as clear to us that the West does no respect those notions. We would be glad to host you in order to bring our two nations even closer together. A strong, united front is truly needed in these trying times.

Sincerely,
Xi Jinping

Président Emmanuel Macron Announced His Ambitious Intentions To Expand The ‘‘Marine Nationale’’; New Aircraft Carrier To Be Commissioned:

Saint Dizier- Président Emmanuel Macron yesterday speaking to the French troops at Saint-Dizier - Robinson Airforce Base Macron announced his intentions to make the ‘‘Marine Nationale’’ the largest and the strongest Navy in Europe and perhaps in the entire Western Hemisphere.
Président Macron speaking to the troops commended and highly praised the French Armed Forces and their bravery, courage and sacrifice for the fatherland.

Macron said:

‘‘French Armed Forces is our pride and crown on our heads. France wouldn't be France without our Armed Forces from ‘‘Ils Ne Passeront Pas’’ at Verdun to defeating the ISIS stronghold in Mali the display of professionalism, courage, strength and resilience of the French Armed Forces has been spectacular. I promise you this today that in coming years France will possess the strongest and largest navy as well as airforce in Europe. I also want to announce a piece of big and good news to you that France will soon possess two aircraft carriers. Porte Avions 2 is ready and soon will be commissioned.’’

The news came amid renewed tensions in Europe and the Asia Pacific. The commission of a new aircraft carrier couldn't have come at a better time as France looks to deal with multiple geopolitical threats on multiple fronts. We had the opportunity to sit down with Président Macron and we asked him about his military plans for Europe and France:

Président du La République: ‘‘The steps that I'm taking are necessary for France and especially for Europe. We live in a multipolar world a world that's changing very quickly every day.
There are multiple threats that we need to deal with. Islamist Terrorism, Conflict in Africa, Yemen Civil War, Syrian Civil War and not to mention Russian troops stationed alongside the Ukrainian border and everyday Chinese jets violating the Taiwanese airspace. These things combined are enough for us to re-think our strategy and adapt to the changing geopolitical realities of the world. And that's what my government is doing.

We are increasing our armoured forces, increasing in airforce, navy, army, and highly mechanized and motorized force as well as I have set a goal for France to increase its stockpile of nuclear warheads before we reach 2030. France must have its stockpile of nuclear warheads between 1,000 to 2,000 by 2030. If we continue to ignore the threats then we are doomed. Europe and the world as we know it will cease to exist. I have sworn to defend Europe and I'll do it.’’

France has taken a sharp pivot in its policy and after decades of cuts in the military budget and reduction in military jobs France under Macron has decided to return to its Grandeur.

Many in France feel that what we are seeing is the return of the Charles De Gaulle era. Président Macron and his policies are very close and similar to the policies and decisions made by the founder of the Vth Republic.

France set to build new Nuclear Power Plants All Over The Country; 4th consecutive year of surplus in electricity:

Orléans Métropole- Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced the opening of new nuclear power plants. According to Prime Minister France had opened 12 new nuclear power plants and reactors.

Nationalé Assemble voted over the matter and it was decided that 90% of France's energy should be produced by nuclear power plants. Président Macron hailed the opening of new power plants and thanked the Prime Minister as well as Parliamentarians for their decisive vote.

According to Macron ‘‘France doesn't need to be dependent on foreign oil because here in France we don't have oil but we have ideas. And we use those ideas to serve the fatherland and the French people.’’

France has been independent in its energy policy since the 1973 oil crisis. Nuclear power is the largest source of electricity and energy in France, with a generation of 768.5 TWh, or 85.6% of the country's total electricity production of 957.7 TWh, the highest percentage in the world. Since June 2022, it has had 102 operable reactors totalling 100,370 MWe, with 5 under construction (1630 MWe).

Électricité de France (EDF) – the country's main electricity generation and distribution company – manages the country's 102 power reactors. EDF is substantially owned by the French Government, with around 85% shares in government hands.

Nuclear power was deployed in large quantities in France following the 1973 oil crisis according to the Messmer plan. This was based on projections that large amounts of electric power would be required. Today France leads the world in nuclear energy and independence in energy and this has led to high production and high electricity exports.

Japanese and South Korean Immigrants Clash In The Streets Of Paris; 10 dead and 162 injured:

Paris- Yesterday, there was pandemonium in the streets of Paris. A beautiful day was shattered by the noise of ambulances and police sirens. Japanese citizens yesterday were protesting outside the Republic of Korea embassy. Inside the Embassy there was France-Korea Cultural Prize Award Ceremony going on.

Soon from the other side of the street, another large pack of South Korean citizens arrived with large protesting signs ‘‘NO TO JAPANESE IMPERIALISM’’ and ‘‘PAYBACK THE REPARATIONS’’ written on signboards.

Both sides engaged in a fiery exchange of words and Métropolitan Paris Police arrived as well but when they reached the scene full-blown fight was going on between both sides. Metropolitan Police arrested some perpetrators while others fled the scene.

5 Japanese and 5 Korean citizens were killed with other 162 injured. The pandemonium came amid heightened tensions between the Republic of Korea and Japan. ROK government has been engaging in strong rhetoric against Japan and has banned everything Japanese from food to clothes. Anyone who admires Japanese culture is quickly clamped down.

Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne described yesterday's events as ‘‘contemptible’’ and ‘‘disgraceful’’. head of The Métropolitan Paris Police said that police had found the perpetrators who had fled the scene and they will stand a trial.

Président Emmanuel Macron dubbed Africa a ‘‘geopolitical superpower’’; France announced an investment of €350 billion Euros in North, West and Central Africa:

Paris- Africa is a continent with a diverse language, culture and people. Africa has a young and growing population but they have to face severe problems in daily aspects of life.

Président Macron said ‘‘Africa is a geopolitical superpower with lots of potential and I believe (we) should help them reach their maximum potential.’’

France has a plan to invest up to €350 billion Euros in the continent. Bruno le Maire Minister of the Economy and Finance explained French plans for Africa:

‘‘We are one of the oldest and largest partners of African countries. Our partnership dates back centuries and increased recently in former decades. Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Chad, Mali, Cóte De Ivoire, Benin, Morocco, Central African Republic, Congo, Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon and many more have long-standing relations with us and we are their largest partners militarily and economically.

We have military bases in almost all of those countries and we pay for their protection. We had a discussion with our corporations and we told them our plans to industrialise and modernise Africa.
French corporations are already setting up their businesses in Africa. We are building roads, railways, infrastructure, chemical industries, medical industries, oil refineries, automobile factories and much more. And according to the estimates from World Bank, our investment will total around €2 trillion Euros in Africa.’’

France has a long history in the African continent and even though most of the French colonies became independent France continued to be their largest economical and trading partner. The relations between France and its former colonies are so close that some of the countries are called ‘‘Françafrique’’ due to the close commercial and military relationships between them.

Rishi Sunak appointed Conservative leader following resignation of Dominic Raab, Shadow Chancellor says leadership election will be held 'at a moment's notice'

LONDON - BREAKING NEWS out of London today after Conservative leader, Leader of the Opposition MP Hon. Dominic Raab announced his resignation from his post as Conservative Party leader and Leader of the Opposition, citing 'personal reasons'. Many analysts had been predicting a possible Raab resignation amidst slipping Conservative survey numbers, showing them trailing by a large margin behind Rebecca Long-Bailey's Labour, who is expected to win an easy re-election in the May general election later this year. The Conservative Party leadership proclaimed Raab's deputy, MP and Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak, as the new party leader. The leadership stated that Sunak was directly appointed so as to ensure that the Tories would have 'proper leadership' heading into the general elections in May.

Sunak's first speech as Leader of the Opposition took place this afternoon, where he assured the Party that a leadership election would be held 'at a moment's notice', but declared that he intended to hold a partywide referendum on whether to push the leadership election back to after the election to 'allow our party to enter this May's election period as a united, singular front representative of Britain'. According to a snap YouGov poll, Sunak is based on the newest data pulling a 49% approve, 46% disapprove, 3% neutral ratio, placing him as the de facto frontrunner in a Conservative leadership election.

MP Boris Johnson, who fell into hot water during the 2021-2022 Partygate Scandal, has expressed interest in running for Conservative leadership via Twitter, but will be aiming for an unlikely goal given his 56% disapprove, 45% approve, 11% neutral ratio of preference among Tory party members.

Tory Leader Sunak slams Long-Bailey, Labour's 'harsh, brutal, warring' foreign policy towards China and Russia

LONDON - Speaking with reporters this afternoon, newly appointed Tory leader Hon. Rishi Sunak slammed Prime Minister Rebecca Long-Bailey and the Labour Party's 'harsh, brutal and warring' foreign policy towards China and Russia, directly asking the Prime Minister 'do you intend to take us to war in Asia?'. Sunak and the Conservatives have historically been strongly opposed to Long-Bailey and Labour's harsher stance against China and Russia, and have been vocal in their opposition to the 'Global Britain initiative', which Sunak condemned last week as 'unfair to other countries and a waste of our own funding'.

When asked by critics about 'why you're defending Beijing and Russia', Sunak replied: 'I'm not defending China and Russia, I personally don't approve of their tactics, but if we are to continue on the path we're going on under the Prime Minister, British lives will perish. I'm defending British lives, not foreign ones'.

BBC reached out to the PM's office for comment but has yet to receive a reply.

Queen Elizabeth down with slight fever as Prince Charles takes on more royal responsibilities, Palace reports

LONDON - Buckingham Palace, the spokeswoman of the Queen, has reported that Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth has come down with a slight fever but is currently resting and recovering at Windsor Castle, just outside London. The Queen did not attend the usual New Years' festivities of the Royal Family earlier this month, and was instead represented by His Highness Prince Charles, the first-in-line for the British crown. The rapid slow down in the Queen's appearances in public and during events has worried the general public, however the Palace assures that 'the Queen is in positive condition'.

Prince Charles reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 despite being triple-vaccinated in early December. The Queen's chief health physician reported that a transmission between the two may have taken place.

Luisa Porritt, Lib Dem MP for Twickenham, becomes Liberal Democratic leader, pledges to represent the younger generations, support small businesses

LONDON - Luisa Porritt, the Liberal Democratic candidate for mayor of London in the 2021 London mayoral election (placed fourth), and the Liberal Democratic MP for Twickenham since 2021, has been appointed leader of the Liberal Democrats following a leadership election on Jan 14 2025 where she defeated Ed Davey for the Liberal Democratic leadership position. Since her defeat in the 2021 mayoral election and her campaign for the Twickenham seat later that same year, Porritt has championed the need to represent the younger generations and support 'the small guys in the British economy', criticizing the government's unnecessary focus on large businesses. She has rallied the millennial generation and as the Liberal Democratic deputy leader since 2023 has led a surge in support for the Lib Dems, with recent polling from December 19-21 giving them 4% voter preference, up from 3% in February 2023, a month before she was appointed deputy leader. Not a significant surge in poll numbers, but rather the increase could be seen in Lib Dem membership, with over 47% of members now composing of Britons born in or after 1995.

In her victory speech yesterday, Jan 24, Porritt pledged to expand representation for the younger generations by pledging to, if elected Prime Minister, appoint 'capable young Britons' to her Cabinet. Her appointment could very well swing the Lib Dems positively towards higher preference numbers in surveys ahead of the May general election later this year.

French forces deploy to Eastern Europe

Peter Thoroughgood, AP

Paris, 11 January--Nearly 8,000 French troops have been deployed to Eastern Europe, according to press statements of the French Government released yesterday. The deployment comes amid continued tensions in Europe over the ongoing conflict in Donbas, which many have called a Russian invasion and others categorize as a Russian sponsored civil war. Concerns over potential Russian aggression have seen the steady rearmament of Germany and, earlier this week, an announcement by the British Government of their determination to stand firm in the face of Russian aggression.

The French deployment marks the largest deployment of French military forces in Europe since the Cold War’s First Phase. These formations, believed to be elements of the Franco-German Brigade and the 6th Light Armored Brigade, represent mechanized formations intended to conduct military operations against peer adversaries.

The Wilkerson Administration has expressed their support of the French deployments. President Wilkerson said in a statement that, “The willingness of President Macron to affirm his support for Europe and for NATO is, perhaps, the most reassuring news to come from Europe these past years. And, just as France is affirming its commitment to its partners, so shall we affirm our commitment.” It is believed that the President’s last remark was a reference to the REFORGER exercise scheduled for the Fall.

US Forces in Europe join NATO allies for exercises in Baltics, Poland

Akron Davis, Reuters

Poznan, 15 January-- Forces assigned to the European Command of the United States have begun major exercises alongside Polish forces this week, a spokesperson for the Army’s V Corps said. The exercise involves elements of the Army’s Third Armored Division, Polish 11th Armored Cavalry Division, the 480th Fighter Squadron, 37th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, the Polish 3rd Aviation Squadron, and elements of the 24th MEU, with the goal of enhancing US and Polish military cooperation as part of America’s increasing commitment to NATO.

These exercises come only a few days after France deployed 8,000 troops to Eastern Europe, including 5,000 to Poland, and President Wilkerson committed the United States to greater involvement in NATO operations. Many analysts are calling these exercises in Poland a “warm-up” for REFORGER 25, scheduled for September of this year.

President Wilkerson calls on Korea, Japan to “settle down” amid rising tensions

Kurt Vaughn, AP

Washington D.C., 19 January--President Wilkerson released a statement today, calling on the governments of Korea and Japan to make efforts to reconcile their differences amid rising Asian tensions. The two nations, both major Asian allies of the United States, have long had a rocky relationship, informed largely by Japanese atrocities in the 1930s and 1940s during the occupation of Korea.

Tensions soared following the Tokyo Olympics, where the Rising Sun Flag of Japan made a new appearance. This, followed by the rise of virulently anti-Japanese political parties in South Korea, saw the near total elimination of Korean-Japanese relations. Unfortunately, this break comes at a point in time where a fracture in the US-led alliances in Asia could prove fatal if a conflict were to break out with the Chinese, as many analysts have been stating for years.

Today, President Wilkerson called upon the Korean and Japanese governments to take steps to reconcile their differences. “As justifiable as Korean anger towards Japan is, there must be a degree of reconciliation. In the face of growing aggression from the Chinese, the North Koreans, and even the Russians, we cannot allow ourselves to become divided. We must acknowledge and reconcile our differences. To this end, I am asking the Korean and Japanese ambassadors to meet with me at Camp David so that we may begin the process of reconciliation.”

French Imperialist Forces to Possibly Invade Our Russian Allies And Other Countries
Date: 05/18/2022 | Source: KCNA.kp (En) | Read original version at source

Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- About 8,000 French forces were deployed to countries including Poland in order to potentially launch a full-scale invasion on Russia and other former Soviet states. According to what we know, they plan to further punish Russia in its attempts to put policies of the successful but betrayed Soviet Union into now manipulated-by-imperialists former Soviet states.

The Supreme Assembly, upon hearing this, said that it would assist its Russian allies to the fullest extent for the sake of protecting one of its liberators. They also announce that sanctions will occur if France does not listen to Korean demands. In addition to this, Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un formally urged for diplomatic talks to happen instead of war.

From: Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un
To: President Alexei Dyumin

Hello, mister Dyumin,

It seems that the imperialist British and French are attempting to destabilize your country and ruin the lives of your people. As we both have the same goals -- that is, to prevent imperialism from ruling us and better the lives of our people -- I think we should meet each other in person and discuss the situation, with the goal of confirming both of our countries' security.

Thank you in advance, and have a good day.

President Liou-yi Liao Makes Call for Peace Across Region:

Taipei, January 12th - President Liao made a call for peace in the region earlier today in remarks to the press, expressing that he hoped for stability in the New Year. Cautioning against mainland aggression, President Liao called on Beijing to "cease all provocative flights and naval patrols" in the new year, so that "peace and mutual understanding" could prevail. Continuing his remarks, the President reiterated his call to the international community to thwart mainland aggression and expansionism, while also warning of the tense situation between South Korea and Japan and in Europe.

"In recent months, tensions remain at a high between the two great countries of South Korea and Japan. If we are to have peace in the region, and if we are able to counterbalance aggressive influences as a united community, then we cannot allow for such tensions to continue. I believe South Korean leaders must carefully weigh their options and meet with their Japanese counterparts, instead of dwelling on events that happened over 80 years ago. We are in the present, and there are more pressing matters." He did caution however, in a reference to Europe, not to "unnecessarily provoke" Russia and mainland China.

Ending his appeals with a final note, President Liao wished for continued prosperity in Asia amid recent fears of mainland invasion. With top military experts warning China is capable of launching a full scale invasion of Taiwan at any time, the President has embarked on a campaign to deescalate between the mainland, while pursuing rearmament.

Air Force Conducts Drills Over Taiwan Strait:

Taipei, January 12th

Amid tensions with the mainland, the Republic of China Air Force conducted a small series of drills over Penghu early this morning, with six AIDC F-CK-1 C/D fighters and 2 Lockheed P-3 Orion patrol aircraft being deployed. In a statement, the ROCAF declared it had conducted drills simulating defense against an aerial and naval aggression. The Air Force hailed the exercise as an "important reminder of the resolve of the people of Taiwan." Such exercises come as the mainland continues daily aggressions against the Taiwanese ADIZ (Air Defense Identification Zone), in moves meant to challenge Taiwanese resolve, security, and to exhaust Taiwanese resources.

In recent months military officials have stated that Taiwan would be considering the purchase of more western surface to air missiles, in effort to deter hostilities and to increase Taiwanese capabilities. Recently military commentators have noted that an attack from the mainland could come without warning and wipe out the Air Force before it every made it off the ground, highlighting the necessity for ground based systems and man-portable weapons.

In the coming months more exercises and drills are planned out, including the American-led RIMPAC and the Taiwanese Han Kuang Exercise.

Former VP Lai Pans Administration, President Liao Fires Back:

Taipei, January 12th

Former Vice President and current member of the Legislative Yuan Ching-te Lai made a speech earlier today in the Legislative Yuan, calling on the President to push forward an independence agenda. Lai slammed the current administration for its ties to the mainland, warning that the President was undermining the credibility of Taiwan as an independent country. In his speech, Lai warned that the KMT party was seeking the dangerous path to reunification, praising the efforts of his former administration towards official independence for Taiwan.

However late today the President fired back over social media, slamming Lai's remarks as "propaganda." President Liao warned that such talk could "endanger the security of Taiwan," saying that the Tsai administration was no different in upholding status quo. Liao took the opportunity to clarify the stance of his party:

"The KMT has long held traditional values that there is only one China. The KMT favors status quo, and is opposed to violent mainland reunification or reunification under the basis of 'one nation two systems.' To advocate for official independence is to advocate for world war. Again former Vice President Lai continues to up his party's rhetoric in a vain effort to collapse the KMT's Legislative Yuan coalition. In this critical moment, Taiwan must not further divide itself. Just as Asia must unite against adversaries to peace, Taiwan must make every effort to unite internally against communist aggression."

Speech by MP Rishi Sunak, Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer
29 January 2025

"First of all, first of all, I'd like to thank the honorable Speaker for this opportunity to speak. This will be my first speech before the House as Leader of the Opposition, so if I sound a little awkward, please excuse me."

"My fellow Members, Madam Speaker, Britain stands at a vital crossroads. We are in the middle of the second decade of the 21st century, and our great nation faces many crises, both domestically and internationally. From slowing economic growth despite the government's apparent best efforts, to the horrifying plan by the Government to raise taxes in order to maintain economic stability, to the imperialistic Global Britain initiative that seeks only to antagonize and corner Russia and China, when we should treat them as nations, as our peers and equals, to the situation between Japan and Korea, both long-time allies of the British Government. These issues may seem to many of you as solvable by brute force, intimidation or through just straight-up pretending the issue doesn't exist. I stand before you today to say: That is not the way Britain does things. Not anymore."

"In the olden times - and I am not ashamed whatsoever to say this - Britain was not what it is now. Our nation was hell-bent, focused, dedicated to the goal of serving king and country, of earning riches and growing an already booming economy, of ensuring the now-defunct Empire remains at the top of the food chain of nations on the world stage. But that was the past. That was the 1600s, the 1700s, the 1800s. We are in the 2020s. This is a different time, and it calls for a different policy, both internal and foreign. We live in a world where governments work for the people. Where they truly work for the people. We live in a world where we respect everyone, no matter what. We live in a world where we are free to make our own decisions, to live our lives, to be happy. That is our world."

"The frankly brutal- The frankly brutal methods through which the government is dealing with the issues of the day cannot be accepted. We treat Russia and China as if they are not even human. This so called "Global Britain" initiative is nothing but the Prime Minister expanding her- its nothing but the Prime Minister expanding her policies of strengthening the Commonwealth and turning it into a Second British Empire. Labour- Labour and the PM- Labour and the PM seek to return our people, our great nation, to the past. To the past where while Britain and her Government and her royal family lived in riches and power and absolute global domination, its people suffered, the constituents from Vancouver to Sydney to Cape Town suffered. That is not the way Britain does things."

"In the 21st century, we respect all other nations. In the 21st century, we support our citizens and abide by their best interests. In the 21st century, we fight for Queen, People, and Country. All three, not just the first and the last."

"That is why to the House today, I plead:"

"In your vote on the passage of the new emergency defense appropriations bill and the new foreign policy which is so very clearly directed against other nations and is deliberately designed to provoke, vote wisely. I plead you to vote wisely."

"Humanity's future does not rest in a world dominated by the West. It is a sad reality, I agree, but it is one we have to cope with and face together as one nation. Let us move forward with other nations together, regardless of our differences. A few speedbumps never stopped our ancestors from establishing the kingdom we call home today, let us make sure that a few speedbumps won't stop us from establishing an everlasting peace and a new era of prosperity for all."

"Thank you."

Presidential visit to Berlin

Image

President Serdar Berdimuhamedow visited Berlin to meet with Chancellor Hendrik Wüst. The two men reached a momentous agreement to cooperate on the construction of the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline: the projected capacity of the pipeline is 30 billion cubic metres (1.1 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas per year, and it would be a game changer in Europe's energy market. The Trans-Caspian gas pipeline will run under the Caspian Sea from Türkmenbaşy to the Sangachal Terminal, where it will connect with the existing pipeline to Erzurum in Turkey, which in turn will be connected to the Southern Gas Corridor, thus taking natural gas from Turkmenistan to Central Europe. The estimated cost of the project is at US$5 billion.

The President was also assured of German investments into the telecommunications sector of the Turkmen economy, which would greatly speed up internet speed and efforts to digitize the Turkmen public administration. The two men also agreed to promote cooperation between Turkmen and German universities, especially in the fields of research and studies, and that Germany would support Turkmenistan's bid to be accepted in the Council of Europe. The President has however clarified that his government will maintain its position of neutrality and will not be participant in any actions - economic or otherwise - against Russia.

The visit has been hailed as a great diplomatic success that has elevated Turkmenistan's standing in the world. The opposition parties - the Social Democrats, Greens and Nationalists - have all praised the President. The spokesman of the Social Democrats said, "while we have disagreements with the President, we believe that his visit to Berlin was a grand success and as a responsible opposition party we feel obliged to give our support to the President's agreement with Germany." The spokesman of the Greens said, "whatever differences we may have in domestic affairs, we stand behind our President one hundred percent when it comes to foreign affairs." The spokesman of the Nationalists said, "as committed patriots we are of course ready to support any policy and international agreement that benefits Turkmenistan."

Polls show that 97% of Turkmen citizens have a positive opinion of the President's visit, 2% are unsure and only 1% view the meeting in a negative way.

Prime Minister announces railway privatization

Image

Prime Minister Raşit Meredow announced today that the government will move ahead with the privatization of the "Demirýollary", the state-owned operator of railways in Turkmenistan. The Prime Minister stated that, "this upcoming privatization aims to a more efficient rail network by creating greater competition. The legislation will be coming in the National Council of Turkmenistan in the next month and the process is estimated by our analysts to take about two years." According to the government's plan, separated parts of "Demirýollary" will be transferred to the private sector. Provision of passenger services will be split up into twelve passenger train operating units (TOUs), split by geographical area and service type. For freight services, three freight operating companies (FOCs) will be created.

This announcement comes following a press conference in which President Serdar Berdimuhamedow announced his "Turkmenistan 2.0" agenda, the second pillar of which is to promote liberal economic reforms proposed by the IMF, the World Bank and Western-educated economists. The President seeks to implement a "shock therapy" that will move away Turkmenistan from the failed post-Soviet model and towards a liberalized, free market economy. An aide to the President told us that 'railway privatization is just the first step' and that 'the President will follow the economic model of Friedman, Hayek, Mises and Thatcher'.

Insiders Indicate President Liao May Soon Unveil Taiwanese Military Monuments:

Taipei, January 20th - Insider sources close to President Liao have suggested the President may soon unveil monuments dedicated to Taiwanese aboriginal troops and those who served in the Second World War. The monuments, which have been under construction since the beginning of the administration are to be located within the National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine. According to reports, the President has ordered the work be hastened on the project. This comes just days after the South Korean government unveiled its own military monument, known as the "National Liberation Monument," amid soaring tensions between Korea and Japan.

While the general international consensus has been to stay away from the dispute which originates over World War Two sentiments, it has been suggested by sources close to the President that recent South Korean comments over the controversial Yasukuni Shrine have proved a tipping point.

According to a source familiar with the situation, "President Liao and members of his inner circle have expressed concern over the dispute and Korean rhetoric. After speaking with top members of the Pan-Green Coalition, the President has agreed that insensitive Korean comments related to Yasukuni constitute an offense against Taiwanese aboriginal troops who died during the war in service of Japan and are honored at Yasukuni. While recognizing the controversial nature of the shrine, President Liao has expressed that if the Japanese government would not do anything, he would."

Despite the sensitive nature of Yasukuni for some Taiwanese, the common consensus nowadays has been accepting of former soldiers, especially aboriginals, who served what was then the Empire of Japan. With numerous notable figures in Taiwan's history having a legacy of Japanese service, and given the President's Japanese ancestry, political commentators say if true, the stance of the President is unsurprising. Given tensions, it is said that the President will most likely avoid directly confronting the the issue, and instead will unveil monuments in honor of those who died protecting Taiwan during the war.

Commentators are interested to see if the administration will take a similar stance as former President Teng-hui Lee, the famed President who stirred controversy due to his visits to Yasukuni, and his pro-Japanese comments.

Legislative Yuan Passes Infrastructure Bill:

Taipei, January 20th - Earlier today the Legislative Yuan overwhelmingly passed a $13.8 billion US dollar spending bill to improve Taiwan's highway and bridge infrastructure over the next four years. The bill passed the Legislative Yuan in a bipartisan vote, 110 to 3.

According the the Premier, the latest bill will go a long ways to updating and building new infrastructure in order, and "when completed, the projects will improve Taiwan's infrastructure for years to come, raising the quality of life and enhancing the nation's global competitiveness."

Experts have indicated that the bill may serve other purposes however, with the new bill coming a short time after Taiwan received its new American M1 Abrams tanks. These experts speculate, given the over 60 ton weight of the vehicles, the military is anxious to update bridges to allow the new tanks to operate all across the country. The move comes as the administration has pledged to build up the military against mainland threats, emphasizing the need for new tanks, missiles, and ships.

Defense Ministry Conducts Test of Anti-Ship Missile:

Taipei, January 20th - Amid tensions with the mainland, late yesterday the Ministry of Defense conducted a successful test of the Hsiung Feng III anti-ship missile from a ground based launcher. Fired from Jiupeng Military Base, the missile reportedly struck a dummy target 20 miles away. The missile systems, which began mass production in 2019, have been increasingly deployed across Taiwan to deter an aggression from the mainland.

The Ministry of Defense claimed the successful test marked "a new level of deterrence," celebrating the widespread deployment of the missiles. Given their 250 mile range, it is said the missiles would prove a significant factor in the defense of Taiwan against invasion by the mainland.

As concern of conflict grows everyday as the mainland gears up for war, President Liao has ordered that the military frequently train in order to deter and prepare for any possible invasion. According to the Ministry, new drills involving logistics are scheduled for next week.

Eastern China

A squadron of 12 J-10s lined up on the runway, preparing for takeoff. Their job was a simple one. Fly over the Taiwanese Strait and enter the Taiwanese Air Defense Identification Zone. It wasn't anything new. Other units have done it multiple times before; the only difference was they were to go deeper in the zone more than other units usually would go, before turning around and heading home. They knew the the false government on that island wouldn't dare fire upon them, unless they were crazy enough to start a full blown war.

Of course, chances are, the Taiwanese would just scramble their own fighters, launch them, then follow the squadron out of the area, before returning home. Regardless, this squadron would be entering their Air Defense Zone.

New Solar Farms Under Construction

Today, the State Council has announced the creation of three new solar farms within Xinjiang, as a part of the plan to make China more eco friendly. Ever since the 2010s, China has been investing much into become eco friendly, with massive numbers of Solar and Wind Farms being created. The State Council has stated that it wishes to have at least 40% of China's energy to come from clean, renewable sources by 2035.

Progress to reach that goal has been going steady, which is a massive feat considering the amount of energy our nation requires. We ask those of you, who are tuned in currently, to help make this process faster. Use electric cars or e-bikes to go about your day. Do not waste electricity. We can all help improve the environment by working together. Our nation should be a beacon to the world, that reducing carbon emissions, while difficult, isn't impossible to do.

Expansion of the Marine Corps

Plans for the Marine Corps, to be expanded, has been unveiled. Following the expansion of the Airborne Corps, some years back, the Navy has been making a push to have its Marine Corps expanded to respond to threats at home and abroad. Currently, the Marine Corps has 6 Brigades stationed throughout China. The new expansion would see this number grow up to 10 Brigades. A spokesperson made this statement:

"In a time where peace should be prevalent within our times, there are threats that face our nation from every direction. We can never be too careful when it comes to the protection of our homes, our friends, and our families. We are here to protect you, the people, from any threat that may arise. If you share those same ideals, don't hesitate to join the military; if that's not what you wish, then the militia would gladly take you."

Rishi Sunak, current acting leader of the opposition, to face off on February 16 with Boris Johnson, Elizabeth Truss for Tory leadership

LONDON - Conservative leadership have confirmed yesterday that current acting Leader of the Opposition and thus Conservative Party acting leader Rishi Sunak, also serving as the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, will be facing off on February 16 against MP Boris Johnson and MP Elizabeth Truss, the latter being the Shadow Foreign Secretary, in a snap leadership election to democratically decide the new party leader ahead of the May general election. Sunak and Conservative leadership previously stated that the leadership election could be delayed to after the May elections to allow for the Tories to fortify and unite themselves ahead of election day, but a partywide poll found that 54% were in favor of a snap leadership vote prior to the election rather than after, against 37% against and the remaining neutral.

Rishi Sunak, current leader of the opposition and Tory leader, is the Member of Parliament for Richmond (since 2015) and previously served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2019 to 2021, before moving to the opposition as the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, a position he holds presently. Sunak is running on an economy-focused and a foreign affairs-focused campaign, but states that he intends to 'work on solving each of Britain's solutions equally'. Sunak is viewed as the most radical candidate for Tory leadership, being more left-leaning than most Tories. This, however, has seemingly not affected his reputation considering he stands at 42 percentage points in polls for Tory leadership, tied with MP Truss.

Elizabeth Truss, current deputy leader of the opposition and deputy Tory leader since 2021, is the Member of Parliament for South West Norfolk (since 2010) and previously served as Foreign Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities from 2021 to 2021 and 2019 to 2021 respectively. Truss is currently serving as the Shadow Foreign Secretary. She is running on a centrist campaign, advocating for the creation of a "New Tory Policy" that would 'align the Conservative Party to the values, beliefs and ideals of a modern, forward-looking Britain'. Truss is standing at 42 percentage points as well in polls for Tory leadership, tied with Sunak.

Boris Johnson, currently the Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2019, and former prime minister from 2019 to 2021. Johnson is the current ranking opposition MP on the parliamentary committee for foreign affairs, and is a former colleague and ally of Shadow Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss. Johnson, whose reputation was horribly affected by the 2021 Partygate scandal during the COVID-19 pandemic, is running on a platform of making government 'relatable, direct and close with the British people'. He has emphasized his apology for the 'brief oversight' he made during the Partygate scandal and has promised he has reformed himself. Johnson is standing at 16 percentage points in polls for Tory leadership, 26 points behind Sunak and Truss, who are tied.

Current TORY LEADERSHIP polls:

42% for SUNAK, Rishi (Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer)

42% for TRUSS, Elizabeth (Shadow Foreign Secretary)

16% for JOHNSON, Boris (MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip)

Luisa Porritt, Liberal Democratic leader, promises to be a 'healing prime minister', endorses 'neutral foreign policy'

LONDON - Luisa Porritt, Lib Dem MP for Twickenham and leader of the Liberal Democrats, held a rally at the Liberal Democratic Party headquarters outlining her policy goals for a possible Porritt premiership. Porritt, a popular candidate among the British youth and the most centrist of the candidates in the May general election, promised to be a 'healing prime minister', vowing to 'bring back honesty and integrity to Number 10' and to 'return Britain to the decency it once held'. Porritt also endorsed a 'neutral foreign policy that emphasizes the need to protect British interests while respecting all nations, regardless of their ideology or such, and treating them all equally'. Porritt remarked that she wished to create a British foreign policy that was 'approachable for all nations', heavily hinting that she wished for de-escalation with China and Russia.

Donetsk, Novorossiya
January, 2025

The territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic, a part of the Confederation between the DPR and Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) had almost become used to the idea of stalemate. The Conflict had been ongoing now for over 10 years. Shellings, explosions, and the constant presence of soldiers had become normal for the people living in this area. Since the Minsk Protocols in 2015, the situation had stagnated as a result of agreements between the West and Russia. Crimea had been formally accepted into Russia, while the Novorossiya territories were left up in the air. This made it very difficult for much of anything for the provisional governments to actually do, besides prepare themselves to defend the territory against the Ukrainian military.

The situation, however, seemed to be escalating quickly. From the British Prime Minister Long-Bailey’s statement of “proxy war” against the Russian Federation, and thus against Novorossiya, France deploying 8,000 soldiers to Eastern Europe to defend their interests and their allies and send a message to Preside Dyumin, Germany’s massive military expansion and quest to dominate the military and political map of Europe, and of course, the United States and their military exercises across Eastern Europe, it was becoming clear a tipping point in the relations between East and West were beginning to boil over. Of course, the Russian military was hardly minding its own business throughout all of this.

The Russian Armed Forces in both its Southern and Western Military Districts had been issued orders as early as November of 2024 to begin a steady stream of repositioning and mobilizations closer to the Novorossiya-Ukrainian border. This was followed by a second mobilization order, this one for the 1st Guards Tank Army, in mid-January. By the end of January, the Russian Army had mobilized the 1st Guards Tank Army, the 6th Combined Arms Army, the 22nd Army Corps, and the 6th Guards Combined Arms Army had received new orders and had begun to slowly mobilize and ready their various units.

The Russian Air and Naval commands had also been notified of the mobilization and were preparing their own forces. The 59th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment was amongst the first to begin shifting and preparing its focus on the Novorossiyan border and territory. No flights were as of yet scheduled to cross into Ukrainian territory. However, commanders were issued with intelligence reports on the air capabilities of the Ukrainian Air Force and air defences. Meanwhile, the regiment of SU-57s was placed on a higher readiness status for quick deployment. This was followed by several orders of Su-24s and 25s being issued orders to redeploy to airbases closer to the Novorossiyan border. This filled out the availability of fighter and attack aircraft usable by the Russian Air Force to include everything from Su-24s, Su-27s, Su-30s, Su-34s and 35s, Su-57s, MiG-35s, and lastly, heavy bombers including the Tu-160M and Tu-22M heavy bomber aircraft.

Meanwhile, the Black Fleet of the Russian Navy was also placed on a higher readiness status. Its fleet and naval infantry and aviation were prepared for operations within the Black Sea and ordered to stock inventory for sea-to-ground missions and the possibility of a naval invasion. While there was no direct threat present, the increased security and the increased global tensions made sure that orders were issued to prevent any potential surprise attack against the fleet by Ukrainian forces. Air defence and missile and rocket units from Crimea across to Russia were ordered to begin to deploy their nets of air and missile defences across the region in preparation for any Ukranian missile or air strikes.

Throughout this splurge of orders and mobilizations, the United Armed Forces of Novorossiya were hardly quiet. Numbering over 45,000 in two Corps, the Armed Forces of Novorossiya had spent the better part of that 10 years quietly yet steadily preparing for the inevitability of conflict. Major General Denis Sinenkov had been given command of the United Armed Forces in 2016, in the wake of the Minsk Protocols which had declared a natural state of truce across Eastern Ukraine. However, neither the Ukranians nor the Novorossiyans had spent too much time sitting around. As the Ukrainian military had increased its defensive and offensive positions across the Donbas, the militias had done the same thing.

The Armed Forces of Novorossiya were still a relative hodgepodge of militias and trained and battle hardened units. Most of their equipment had been seized from the Ukrainian military or turned over to them by defectors. The rest of their equipment had been handed over to them from their Russian counterparts, particularly in the early stages of the war. Due to the prohibitions for foreign weapons in Ukraine, no new Russian weapons had been given to them since 2015. This meant that Novorossiyan forces were largely under equipped in comparison to their Ukrainian adversaries. However, the small industries located within the territory of Novorossiya had done what it could with what it had. Building new MLRS systems and supplying ammunition and shells to the new units. It wasn’t much, but it was certainly more than nothing.

General Sinenkov had done what he could with what he had. With the help of Russian advisors operating by proxy from Russia, Sinenkov had implemented his own reforms as Russia was conducting its own reforms. Units and supply lines were standardized. Command was unified and redundancy reduced. Sinenkov had very few tanks, mostly T-64s and a handful of T-72s, most of which were former Ukrainian Army tanks that had been captured in war. Its artillery was also a mess of old equipment, some Ukrainian and Russian equipment, or nothing at all. However, these tanks and artillery and MLRS were organized into the various two Corps, each with around 22,000 soldiers in each. From which two separate divisions were made and ‘shock’ battalions, where a combination of the best tanks, armoured vehicles, SPGs, small arms, and soldiers were combined into tactical combat groups to become the main actionable force of the militias.

Meanwhile, the rest of the artillery and MLRS were organized into support sections, each dedicated to a unit or sector of the line that they would have to hold or attack. Along with this organization, new training routines were put into place. Unit standardization took place, creating a far more professional military than previous. However, it was still a far cry from where it needed to be. Across the border zone of no-man’s land was the Ukrainian military. Although its ability to fully expand was somewhat limited by the Minsk Protocols, they were still far better equipped and far outnumbered the Novorossiyans. There was no question that the survival of Novorossiya and its constituent republics would rest heavily on the Russian military.

22nd Army Corps Headquarters
Sevastopol, Russia
February 1, 2025

Major General Denis Lyamin of the 22nd Army Corps read the report from Army General Aleksandr Dvornikov, commander of the Southern Military District of which the 22nd Army Corps was a part of. The news was not surprising to Lyamin. The threat of conflict had long loomed over the region due to the failure of the Minsk protocols to see widespread international recognition of Crimea as Russian or of the Donbas region despite the international certification of the referendum. Nonetheless, the situation had dragged itself out for over 10 years. Lyamin looked over the report one last time to make sure he fully understood what his position was before carrying out the orders.

From the Orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces in cooperation with Plan IV of the Ongoing Conflict in the Ukraine. To the Commanders of the Russian Ground Forces:

In conjunction with the Operational Maneuvers 2025, The Southern Military District is placed on advanced alert status, all units will be activated in preparations for military exercises. The 810th Naval Infantry and units of the Russian National Guard will be placed under the operational command of the 22nd Army Corps. The 45th Guards Spetsnaz Brigade, the 7th Guards Mountain Air Assault Division are being assigned from the Airborne Forces under unified Command under Army General Aleksandr Dvorniko by the order of General Sergei Shoigu.

This is in accordance with операция победоносная within the overall специальная военная операция (special military operation). All combat units involved will be placed on higher alert until further notice. Coordination with the Russian Aerospace Forces and Naval Forces will be carried out under the joint operational chiefs under the command of General Dvorniko and Lieutenant General Nikolai Vasilyevich Gostev of the Russian Air Force and Admiral Igor Osipov of the Black Sea Fleet. All Army commanders are to fulfill requirements of the military exercises and maintain combat readiness and await further instruction.

Signed,

Army General Aleksandr Dvorniko
General of the Army, Minister Sergei Shoigu
Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, President Alexei Dyumin
Co-Chairman of the Security Council, Chairman Vladmir Putin
