[PASSED] Repeal "Liberate Confederacy of Layem"

Postby Waterfall State » Sat May 14, 2022 7:33 pm

Hello everyone, wanted to try writing my first WA SC resolution so wanted to get a draft ready.
So here is my rough draft, based on my previous draft for a different resolution

Current draft below:

The Security Council,

Acknowledging that the intent of Security Council Resolution #398 (SCR #398) was to strike down the fortifications placed upon Confederacy of Layem in order for judgement of the region to be directed by the international community.

Understanding that the purpose of SCR #398 has been carried out through an occupation of the region by over 109 nations under the banner of Antifa, demonstrating the will of the international community against the region.

Asserting that permanent security measures to prevent the reestablishment of the old regime within Confederacy of Layem cannot be implemented unless SCR #398 is repealed.

Further maintaining that a repeal of SCR #398 does not in any way disprove the claims it has made about the necessity for the pacification of this region.

Noting that the Founder has been vapourised by an act of a deity, preventing their return to the region and ensuring the permanent pacification of the region for as long the multiverse exists.

Believing that SCR #398 has fulfilled its goal of removing barriers of entry into Confederacy of Layem and must now be repealed in order for the full destruction of the region to be complete.

Hereby Repeals SCR #398: Liberate Confederacy of Layem

The Security Council,

Acknowledging that the intent of Security Council Resolution #398 (SCR #398) was to strike down the fortifications placed upon Confederacy of Layem in order for judgement of the region to be directed by the international community.

Understanding that the purpose of the previously mentioned resolution has been carried out through an occupation of the region led by Antifa and an united coalition of atleast 21 organisations across 110 World Assembly nations at the time of occupation, with occupation forces increasing since this time, demonstrating the will of the international community against the region.

Asserting that permanent security measures cannot be implemented by the international coalition until its current status as a liberated region has been repealed.

Tentative suggestion since it might look like crap due to the sheer amount, but instead of listing leading regions the op, might be cool to list all involved regions. Otherwise, obvious support pending the inevitable occupation reaching a point where it's secure and ready to be locked.

We can see what the list looks like at that time, I imagine this draft will change a lot depending on the exact happenings. Kudos to Dimitri for doing this with me before the badge hunters swarmed like moths to the flame :P

You won’t need the first big clause at the very top. When you click the repeal button it’s automatically added.

Alright, looks like you got a good base for the repeal, we'll have to see what transpires out of Layem if the liberation passes.

I was kind of looking forward to the badge hunters tripping over their own shoelaces trying to grab the repeal....

A good basis for a repeal, nicely done. One thing about this is it doesn’t have to be rushed, plenty of time to fine tune it.

I feel like if the preeminent individual of "a few bad eggs" is the Founder, and he's enough of a bad egg that he's Delete-On-Sight, then maybe, just maybe, the region can be reasonably held accountable.

For what, their Right Wing Political beliefs. If you really are going through with the destruction of this region the SC also need s to put out some legislation protecting Right wing regions.

First of all, Layem has had serious OOC issues that make it fully deserving of its destruction.

Secondly, what would you mean by "right-wing"? If by "right-wing" you mean bigoted things then they don't deserve protection.

I assume you are planning on writing a new ruleset for the Security Council which would permit that?

If you want to protect right-wing regions then instead of talking, write a draft. I highly doubt you'll get the support especially what happened to an extremely problematic one like Layem.

There appears to be a missing punctuation after "The Security Council"

Also probably helps to mention that the restoration of ability to password the region is specifically important, as it helps to secure the region from being retaken by Layemites.

Have made some changed to the draft.

Changes:
- Alternate Line 3
- Made some changes to Line 5 to give it a more "thorough" ending (my wording)
- Added content at line 2 now that I have more info on the coalition

I am not sure if the mention of password would pass a legality check, so have implemented an alternate writing, personally prefer the original one but I am open to changes

For the record, password is a legal term in SC proposals. Though more IC sensible wording is welcome.

Not only is there no clear need to clarify that "SCR #398" does, in fact, stand for "Security Council Resolution #398," but you switch to "SC #398" wording in your HEREBY line.

This draft is a bit repetitive and all-over-the-place but I can just about support it in principle.
