An European singing competition, plus couple of countries outside geographical Europe because they are part of European Broadcast Network Union (such as Israel and Caucasian trio). Its a very fun event that gives birth to lots of amazing songs, memories and in many cases memes. Its a part of the year when we forget everything and enjoy the songs. Winning country's song gets to host next years eurovision.
Recently, in 2015 Australia joined too because Eurovision was always enormously popular there and they have right to participate until 2023
ESC consists of three parts. First & second semi-finale and a grand finale. in each semi finale 10 countries who gets the most televotes points progress into grand finale where they compete with big 5 (Spain, UK, Germany, Italy and France). After all 25 songs in grand finale are sung audience votes, then jury votes and the country with the most votes wins and gets to hot the eurovision next year

Also I think this year's finale will be heavily in the corner of Australia-Serbia-Norway-Spain-Ukraine as in, I think those countries will be, well, top in 5

I like Moldova's song (I predict it will be in the top 10), but I doubt it will win

True XD However I doubt that they would even be able to host (due to the Ukraine Crisis possibly entering Moldova)

I'd love it if the UK won too, but I have accepted that it is probably a pipe dream XD I fully expect Ukraine to win - I don't know how well their song will perform with juries but I'm sure they'll receive an unholy number of votes from the public.

If Ukraine does win, I expect they'll host the contest in Germany in 2023 to avoid the conflict (assuming it isn't over by then).

I'm still mourning Latvia not making the final :(

Hopefully Moldova, Norway, Estonia, and Poland will do well. Those are my favourites.

I have doubts that Moldova or Norway are going to win. I know lots of people want them to win but I just think jury won't really be inclined to give votes to those type of songs

Ukrainian entry is very good but even if people vote for them, I still don't think they will win. The rules say that it needs to be hosting in its own country and that country is currently under an imperialistic attack from Russia. Even if they find a good city that won't be affected by the war.. I still fear Putin will bombard it out of spite, just how he did with Kyev when UN secretary arrived there

Oh boy, can't wait for the annual Britain comes in last place contest again!

... I mean it, I'm quite looking forward to watching. Never was my thing, but it's seriously grown on me.

Conserative Morality wrote:"It's not time yet" is a tactic used by reactionaries in every era. "It's not time for democracy, it's not time for capitalism, it's not time for emancipation." Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

Don't forget the "Germany No Televote" contest!

(but seriously, hopefully Germany will get a point from the televote, no more 0 points)!
