Fellow Nations:

I would like to welcome you to the SFN an alliance of nations dedicated to peace and exploration. We do not wish to undermine the sovereignty of our members and all members have the right to deny the will of the Federation Council. Members may leave if they wish and membership has few restrictions, for more information, please look at the Charter below.

Members will have access to a collective military for the defense of SFN members and, at the approval of the Federation Council and SFN President, military offensives. Humanitarian aid will be given to members who require it. Members also will have access to the SFN Trade Center which will allow for the smooth selling and buying of goods amongst members.

The Constitution of the Sovereign Federation of Nations

Article 1: Membership and Rights of Members

Any nation who wishes to join the Sovereign Federation of Nations (SFN) may apply. The application will then go through a majority vote by the Federation Council. Nations then will become a full member of the SFN and have all rights given by this charter.

All members of the SFN will have the following rights unless removed by a majority vote by the Federation Council:

1.Sovereignty- SFN members have the right to deny the will of the Federation Council unless specified differently in the act in question.
2.Freedom of Speech and Belief- SFN members have the right to say and believe what they wish and cannot be persecuted because of it, however profanity is prohibited during votes and debates.
3.Freedom of Military-SFN members have the right to govern their own military and use it as they see fit, no nation may directly command another nation as to how they should use their military. However, if the SFN Collective Military (SFNM) is being used, the Federation Council has the right to command its movements and actions.
4.Freedom of Alliance-SFN members have the right to make alliances and perform diplomatic activities with which ever nations they wish and no nation may stop them or persecute them for their activities with that nation. This right however can be over ruled by the Federation Council declaring an Federation Ban on a nation.

Article 2: Federation Council

The main governing body of the SFN shall be the Federation Council(FC). The FC shall be comprised of the various SFN delegates of the member nations and shall be headed by the Federation Superior Board(FSB) which shall comprise of 3 separate elected positions. These positions shall be elected from amongst the Delegates currently sitting on the FC. They are as follows:

1. President- The president is the highest position on the FC and acts as the chairman of the FC and FSB. He governs the affairs of SFN, has veto power over the FC, and has special voting power counting his vote as 2 votes. His power can however be removed by a 2/3 vote of no confidence by the FC.
2. Vice President- The vice president acts as the adviser to the president and performs the president's duties if the president is unable or unwilling to perform them himself. the vice president becomes president if the current president resigns or dies.
3. Ambassador- The ambassador represents the SFN to all other nations and alliances. He organizes negotiations, treaties, trade agreements, and other foreign affairs events.


All offices may be over ruled by a 2/3 vote from the FC.

I regret to inform you that the SFN has not reached its predeclared membership quota of 10 nations by the beginning of August. Because of this, the SFN does not have enough support to get off the ground. So I am forced to issue an order to dissolve the SFN. The order is included below.

Due to reasons listed in the letter from the president, the Sovereign Federation of Nations no longer has the potential to become an effective alliance. The Federation Council has decided that this is in breach of the SFN's general goal and has thus decided to dissolve the alliance.

By order of the President, with full approval of the Federation Council, The SFN is to be dissolved immediately. The collective military no longer is to function and all orders made by this alliance are no null and void.

I would like to move to create an official language of the SFN. Without a common language, member nations will not be able to communicate effectively. I believe that english is the most common language in this alliance, but Sindarin is spoken in some parts of Tyrrin, and could be used for official announcements and the like.

Official Announcement

As you may know, there are offices in the SFN, and all but one of them are empty! Thus, the SFN is holding its first election. Voting will be anonymous to everyone but me (because I have to count the votes).This is how the process will work.

1. Nomination: you may nominate anyone for an office, yourself or someone else. Do this by forum post.
2. Acceptance: a nominee must accept their nomination before becoming a candidate. Do this by forum post.
3. Campaign: Candidates pretty much advertise themselves. Do this by Forum post.
4. Voting: All members send me(silar) a telegram with their vote for the various offices.
5. Results: I will post the winners.
