[OOC: This is a placeholder to get a roster in. I hope to revamp it entirely and use an all new squad, but we'll see if my motivation to do so holds.]

Sarzonia Junior Stars (Under 21 national team)
Note: Starters in BOLD

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers/goal scoring events: Yes
Godmod scoring events: No*
RP injuries to my players: No
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: No more than one or two per match
Hand out red cards to my players: No
Godmod other events: No*
Style modifer: +2
*Stuff like choosing who takes a free kick/who scores and how is fine. Weather, someone losing their lunch is OK. True Godmods are not.

Manager: Colton Longley (51 years old)
Longley steps into the shadow cast by Diego Cristobol as full-time manager after stepping up from his primary responsibility working with defenders and defensive midfielders.

Assistant Manager: Avery Charles (44 years old)
They interviewed for the position Cristobal had working with midfielders and strikers and earned the job based on their work in both Sarzonian major football leagues, including the now-defunct women's league.

Assistant Manager: Travis Hanifer (34 years old)
The youngest brother of former manager Nathan Hanifer, he takes on Longley's work with defenders and defensive midfielders.

Goalkeepers Coach: Marissa Bingham-Sandt (36 years old)
She played keeper in multiple Sarzonian women's leagues and she married Stars legend Horace Sandt after she retired as a player.

HOME GROUND: Joe Gibbs Stadium, Woodstock (75,900 capacity; natural grass field)

GOALKEEPERS
29 Glen Baker, 21, 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, University of Nicksia
Baker won three state championships in his four years in high school. He earned the starting job midway through the college season and finished with a 5-2-2 record with a 0.87 goals against average. Assumes the starting role for the Under 21 Stars after Carlton Sandt got called up to the senior national team.
36 Jill Schlessinger, 19, 5-foot-9, 140 pounds, University of Somerset
Takes over the reserve goalkeeper role from Eleanor Keating after she aged out.
35 Morgan Lock, 18, 5-foot-11, 155 pounds, unaffiliated
They were two days too old to qualify for the Under 18 national team, but the team opted not to compete in the Under 18 World Cup. They assume the third team goalkeeper role.

DEFENDERS
3 Carlette Taylor, 21, 5-foot-4, 134 pounds, unaffiliated
Taylor is a rugged defender who often marks players who outweigh her by at least 50 pounds and are at least four inches taller. She makes up for lack of speed with positioning and reading her opponent's runs.
5 Ian McKinley, 20, 5-foot-9, 168 pounds, Somerset University
McKinley plays fullback for Somerset University, but will play a sweeper role for the Stars after the loss of sweeper Clyde Gustafsson to a torn ACL.
6 John Taylor 21, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Portsmouth University
The younger brother of Carlette Taylor, John plays a similar style to his sister's, although with much more speed.
32 Brett Mabry, 20, 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, Woodstock Wild Reserves
Mabry earned a starting position with the Wild Reserves after initially making the parent side out of training camp. However, the Wild engineered a trade that brought them an all star defender who took minutes away from Mabry.
7 Luis Garza, 19, 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, unaffilated
Garcia is a capable offensive-minded defender and can and has played midfield for past teams. He earns a spot as a reserve defender because the team needs the depth.
44 Pat Meyers, 21, 5-foot-8, 152 pounds, unaffiliated
Meyers won a lawsuit against the Portland Timbers third division affiliate when the team dismissed them after successfully proving the club released them due to their gender non-conforming status. The technical director responsible for the decision was fired two weeks after the verdict. Meyers plays mostly halfback but can also pitch in at fullback if necessary.

MIDFIELDERS
2 Charlie Ross, 19, 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Portland Timbers reserves
Ross is a defensive midfielder who was called upon to play more of an offensive role after injuries decimated the parent club and forced call ups. Can be used in the back line if needed.
8 Marc Kemp, 20, 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, unaffiliated
Kemp was just released from his contract with Wilmington Wanderers, a fourth division side, when a transfer offer to a third division side fell through. He also plays a defensive midfield role although he has better speed and ball handling ability than most defensive midfielders in Sarzonia.
12 Edwin Campbell, 20, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Wilmington Wanderers
Campbell comes to the Under 21 edition of the Stars at the recommendation of Kemp. He brings size and strength to attacking runs that also present deceptive speed and on-ball skills.
14 Joanie Rhys, 20, 5-foot-5, 140 pounds, Woodstock Justice reserves
Joanie signed a contract with the Justice right after high school after leading her scholastic league with 18 goals in 12 matches played. Her speed is unmatched at her level, but she needs to learn to adapt to equally fast players at the international level.
13 Nestor Royce, 20, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, Saugerties Snakes
Royce earned a starting job with the Snakes as a midfielder and scored seven goals in 18 matches before injuries derailed him.
16 Marco Benignati, 21, 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, Portland Timbers reserves
Benignati can provide depth at defensive midfielder and has played fullback for his high school. Played halfback during a televised contest for Portland Junior College.

FORWARDS
15 Suzi Calderon, 20, 5-foot-7, 145 pounds, Portland Pride
Calderon brings ball skill to the table as a forward. She can drop back in a midfield role on occasion and has done so for the Pride when her team played a woman down after red cards.
20 Thurman West, 20, 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Saugerties Snakes reserves
West also brings ball skill and creative flair to his role with the Snakes reserve 11 and scored five goals coming off the bench in the second half of games during the regular season.
22 Nick Raiden, 21, 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, Saugerties Snakes
Raiden is pure power and pace. He doesn't quite have the finesse of either of the starting forwards, but he is available for late-match offence if needed.

Boot It!: Back To Where The Young Jags Belong

Postby TJUN-ia » Wed Apr 20, 2022 2:22 pm

Image

Name: TJUN-ia
Team: U-21s
Trigram: TJU
Football Association: FA-TJUN-ia
Nickname: Jaguars (official)/Jags (short form)/Blue and Orange (commonly-used informal)/Young Jags (Team Specific)

Finally, we are back! After all this time, TJUN-ia is back in the Di Bradini Cup and back to what we know best - the Young Jags showcasing their talent to the watching world in Valanora and Starblaydia. Sure, reaching the final of the Wonder Cup's Tour of the Stars was certainly fun and an experience we will never forget...but missing out on our DBC invite didn't feel right...so it's certainly good to be back under the DBC umbrella once more, especially with the new changes at the Senior level meaning these players should have a better transition overall when the time comes.

This team has experienced a lot of change with only Ons Moukaddem, Kendra Robertson and new Captain Regina McDuff left from the starting 11 who played HUElavia in the final. 8 new players are now going to start with 8 more joining the bench, the TJUN-ian Football Conveyer Belt is certainly in full gear now, and Philip van Oosterend will have to try and get this new-look side into high gear if they want to do something on their DBC return. Making Mantfombi Dlamini the new Vice-Captain is a start, a showing of where this team will be headed in the future, and with all that out of the way...let's just get to the football, shall we?

Cabo Azure National U21 Football Team "Las Maçaricitas"

Goalkeepers
GK-Roque Leitão-18-Dondo
Has started for second-division Dondo since he was fifteen; a seasoned keeper used to compensating for an inadequate backline, but needs to work on his positioning.

Substitutes:
GK-Zezé Sapateiro-19-Villa Oro

Defenders
LB-Lino Valente-21-Natal
A senior national team callup for this cycle, Valente will seek to prove himself among a talented field of fullbacks.

CB-Álvaro Águas-20-Villa Silva
A tall, athletic corner who’s seen some first team minutes for Silva, Águas is as strong on set pieces as he is weak in 1v1 situations and going forward.

CB-Miguelito Leitão-20-Villa Oro
Undersized, but fast and skilled, Leitão is prone to overcommitting and giving up easy fouls, but his tenacity is unmatched.

RB-Abílio Barros-19-Villa Delgado
Aggressive, fast, and persistent as young fullbacks often are. Lacks refinement both close in and going forward, but shows flashes of tactical awareness.

Substitutes:
FB-Aristides Rodrigues-18-Cabecedas
CB-Ruy Paiva-18-Villa Silva

Midfielders
RM-Rolando Florencio-21-Sao Vicente
The youngest starter on an experience squad for Os Pastorzinhos, Florencio is a good all-round box-to-box midfielder, without any strengths or weaknesses that stand out.

CM-Telmo Andrade-19-Villa del Sol
Originally a centerback in the del Sol system, Andrade is primarily a holding midfielder who is slowly, but surely developing the tactical awareness to pull strings from deep.

LM-Bartolomeu Coelho-20-Lagostim
A player who has featured for Lagostim at every field position and demonstrated the same characteristics in each; crazy pace, strong dribbling, and a proclivity for poor tactical decisions.

Substitutes:
MF-Mauro Baptista-18-Pemba
MF-Gil Moreira-16-Villa Delgado

Forwards:
LW-Pio Mendonça-19-Portelo
A veteran of the previous cycle of youth competitions, Mendonça has been brought back to provide leadership and a legitimate scoring threat up top.

CF-Roberto Silvestre-20-Perolas
Tall, athletic, with a penchant for scoring goals, Silvestre is one of a few U21 players on the longlist for World Cup qualifying, but will have a lot to prove in this tournament.

RW-Anselmo Santos-21-Portelo
Fast, alert, but lacking the finishing to be a truly class forward, Santos has nevertheless found minutes at Portelo on a rotational basis in the second-striker role.

Substitutes:
FW-Emanuel Bastos-18-Ponta Flaca
FW-Martin Peres-19-Villa del Sol

DBC record--18 wins, 15 losses, 13 draws (11 appearances)

style--+2.6
Formation--3-4-1-2

National Anthem--"Hear Our Voices Commonwealth"

Nickname--since the end of the 1960's the National Team has been known as "The Bees", a period when the team's uniforms consisted of alternating black and gold hoops. While the bee is an element on the coat of arms of the Commonwealth—a long accepted heraldic symbol of industriousness--the association was actually a reference made in an Italian newspaper game story when the senior team was wearing the hooped shirts, referring to the BP team as il Bombi (the bumblebees) for their perseverance and swarming tactical play.

Colors--Black & Gold (while they are just 2 of the 5 main colors on the flag of Baker Park--Blue, Red and White are the others--black & gold have been closely associated in the nation's consciousness as representative of the country since its founding.)

THE TUMBRAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM (U18 side)
The Junior Eagles

Image

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

An unfortunate early elimination against Montana Verde in the quarterfinals ended Tumbra's bid to try and take home the Di Bradini Cup for a second time running; and, with Graentfjall taking home the competition, they would eclipse the Black Eagles' achievement of bringing home the junior World Cups in successive cycles...by doing the same in one. This time, the side are back and they're very much out for revenge; but at the same time, also to try and grow.

Kriegiersien U18 U21 Football Nationalteam

This is the same team that played at the RTC Under-18 World Cup, were they were demolished in the semi-final 5-0 by Tjorl.
It is the new Olympic perspective team of Kriegiersien. Star of the team is Xian Cheung, who already played as ringer at the IAC with the previous Olympic team, where he was Top Scorer of the team, but went out unfortunately with the first loss in the competition in the round of 16.
With Dumm Grumsh there is for the first time an Orc in the perspective team, the rest are male humans.
All players are from the youth centre of Kriegiersien national sokker champion Timesteam.

Kriegiersien always plays in their black Olympic rags.. jerseys they use for every sport.

If they can't play in black and neither nude, as nudity is mandatory in Kriegiersien, they try to steal the next best tricot as alternative for black.

Chromatik U-21 Squad
The Junior Anomalies

Staff
Manager: Claude Pare-Achel (ZWZ), 60
Assistant Manager: Mikhail Dushov, 57
Physio: Anna-Maria Myers, 43
Formation: 3-4-3
Style Modifier: +2.5
U-21 Record: 25-14-18

Being one of the best collegiate managers, Claude Pare-Achel of Zwangzug remains as the U-21 Manager for Chromatika, with the CFF hoping that his success in the CCFA can lead to the Young Anomalies returning to break the Round of Sixteen after a disappointing exit despite accruing four points last time around. He'll have the best of the CCFA and some players out of there who've already made it big to work with, but with a competition as brutal as the Di Bradini Cup, he'll have his work cut out for him. This is the most offensive squad Chromatika has ever had representing it - with defenders that like to press, with midfielders that like to shoot, and with forwards hungry for goals.

The Roster
Goalkeepers
GK 1. Siane Sundrifter, 20, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT) | 6 ft 7 in
GK 12. Raoul Carpathia, 18, Tikariot City FC Academy (TKT) | 6 ft 10 in
GK 23. Hailee Sourtois, 17, Chromatik U-18s | 6 ft 8 in
Siane Sundrifter, 20 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Taking up football at the age of seventeen, Sundrifter burst onto the scene as a freshman, being second in goals allowed, only behind one Lorée Bautista. The latest season saw the squad take a step back defensively, but his individual play didn't suffer - he just wasn't helped out by the defense. He's best when he's given space to play the ball while surveying the field, though his work on set pieces has improved greatly in the last two seasons. A very vocal keeper who can keep his side focused on the game, his presence on the pitch can be a greater asset than his play itself.

Raoul Carpathia, 18 - Tikariot City FC Academy (TKT)
A tall keeper at 6' 10", and he's still growing. An aggressive sweeper-keeper who likes to challenge would-be scorers while possessing the reflexes to dive to the other side when needed. Can get lost in the flow of the match, but Carpathia has already been clocked by the CFF as a player to keep an eye on during development. Currently part of Tikariot City's Academy side, he's a work in progress but has tremendous upside.

Hailee Sourtois, 17 - Chromatik U-18s (CMT)
The starting keeper for Chromatika's best youth club that's made splashes at the Rising Stars' Cup internationally, Soutois has shown tremendous poise for a keeper so young. With command over the flow of the game and good communication skills, she's working on the raw technical aspect of the game, but has control over intangibles that other young players lack at her age.

Defensive Backs
RB 2. Paisley Paterson, 18, Southern Chromatik University | 6 ft 3 in Licentian/Chromatik Dual National
CB 3. Ding Huo, 21, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 6 ft 4 in
LB 4. Twilight Mixon, 21, Sanar University | 6 ft 2 in
RB 13. Ami Coulibaly, 18, Chromatik U-18s | 6 ft Banijan Ancestry
CB 14. Candice Alli, 21, University of Myana | 6 ft 3 in
LB 15. Jenowefa Krzyżanowsk, 21, Pùr State University | 6 ft 5 in
RB Paisley Paterson, 18 - Southern Chromatik University (CMT) Licentian/Chromatik Dual National
Born to a Chromatik mother and a Licentian father, Paterson grew up in Chromia, and only started football about two years ago. With size, pace, and most of all, a mentality of steel, Paterson has shown that she can be an enforcer on the pitch, not shying away from contact without drawing too many fouls. Her aerial game is still a cause for concern, but the dogged determination with which she pursues every play has made her an instant favorite no matter which coaching staff she works with.

CB Ding Huo, 21 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
A physical enforcer who doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, Ding Huo is a tough out for any would-be scorer that must be solved if they are to have a presence in front of the net. Often times than not, he can take care of at least one player.

LB Twilight Mixon, 21 - Sanar University (CMT)
A previous U-18 starter, Twilight is a force to be reckoned with both defending and scoring off of set pieces. She also has the fundamentals to play the position, but it's her offensive side of things that really stands out.

RB Ami Coulibaly, 18 - Chromatik U-18s (CMT) Banijan Ancestry
Best known for being part of both Chromatik's youth squad as well as the senior squad, Coulibaly's friendship with Trudy Harrison is well known. On the pitch, she's a bit on the smaller side, but makes up for it with aggressive defending and getting in the opponent's face. She's also good in space, solid in defending headers, and has a good hand on the flow of the game.

CB Candice Alli, 21 - University of Myana (CMT)
Having played on the U-18 team in the past, Alli had a few off seasons, but really stood out the last season for University of Myana. She never crosses the middle of the pitch, but if a team is in need of a solid defensive piece to anchor the back, that's her calling card.

LB Jenowefa Krzyżanowsk, 21 - Pùr State University (CMT)[/b]
Built like a tank and aware of it, Jenowefa is an unapologetic brutal defender with the tendency to accrue cards and fouls. Her mentality is that someone needs to do the dirty work, and she doesn't mind being that someone.

Midfielders
RM 5. Martha Baum, 21, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 5 ft 9 in
CM 6. Gina Powell, 21, Lanar University | 6 ft 5 in
CM 7. Baillaire Fillar, 21, Cazadores Cathair (Audioslavia) | 6 ft 3 in - CAPTAIN
LM/LWB 8. Moreno Keel, 19, Chromia Central College Universityl | 6 ft 1 in
RM 16. Yeveseyeva Nadka Maximovna, 21, Eyrods Tech | 5 ft 11 in
CM/DM 17. Colby McDonald, 18, Eyrods Tech | 6 ft 5 in
CM 18. René Aigner, 20, Urrheddiao State University | 6 ft 8 in
LM 19. Ostap Myronovych Palamarchuk, 20, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 6 ft 2 in
RM Martha Baum, 21 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Now with the Hellcats, Baum is a huge asset. She may be a bit short, but with precise passing skills and a flair of the dramatic, there's definitely potential there. She does prefer to be under the radar, though, which has been the only stumbling block on a promising early career. If she can get some confidence, though? Her stock would rise almost as fast as someone like Kuznetsov. She's starting to gain that confidence - and playing in another international tournament will certainly help.

CM Gina Powell, 20 - Lanar University (CMT)
A through-ball specialist, Powell is not a shooter. With a nice long-ball and decent speed, Powell was part of a Lanar University squad that scored 71 goals in 30 games two years ago, most in the CCFA, leading the squad with 38 assists. It wasn't her fault that Lanar fell to the depths they did last season, as she tried her best but the team wasn't robust enough. She wants to wash away the taste of that abysmal season with a solid showing here.

CM/AM Baillaire Fillar, 21 - 1830 Cathair (AUD)
The flashiest of the Fillars, Baillaire subscribes to the Hermaeus Mora/Haley Hauser school of Attacking Midfielders, or, shoot first and ask questions later. With a creative and dramatic flair that doesn't really exist in other Chromatiks from the past, Baillaire is a playmaker through and through. For this tournament, though? She's been given a License to Kill and shoot on sight.

LM/LWB Moreno Keel, 19 - Chromia Central College University (CMT)
Keel has an eye for flair and creativity that isn't present in most Chromatiks. Famed for a stutter-step that can juke unsuspecting opposition, his only drawback is the health of his left ankle, which has given him trouble in his young career. If he can keep that under control, he's got a good future ahead of him. His first season at the collegiate level was mildly successful, as the Comets are a team that prides themselves on defense more than the attack; he has been able to stay healthy, which remains a plus.

RM Yeveseyeva Nadka Maximovna, 21 - Eyrods Tech (CMT)
Her name is a mouthful, but Yeveseyeva, or "Yev" for short, is a more consistent version of Baum. She may not be as dramatic as Martha, but Yev can make the necessary passes to press the attack, and then drop back to help with the defense as needed. One thing is for certain - Yev most definitely has a career in the Red League waiting for her when she graduates (unless she's whisked away elsewhere).

CM/DM Colby McDonald, 18 - Eyrods Tech (CMT) Licentian/Chromatik Dual National
Another one of the dual nationals, McDonald is a pacey defensive midfielder with the ability to really stretch the field. Though he doesn't like contact, he still makes the opposing attackers' lives miserable, often times dispossessing them of the ball and pushing it forward to the attack.

CM René Aigner, 20 - Urrheddiao State University (CMT)
Latest in the crop of holding midfielders, Aigner's claim to fame is her frame, which can topple almost anyone she chooses to tackle. René takes no prisoners.

LM Ostap Myronovych Palamarchuk, 20, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Palamarchuk is a left-footed sniper who can also bend the shot inward for assists.

Forwards
RW 9. Gerry Hawthorne, 20, Urrheddiao State University | 6 ft 2 in
ST 10. Karra Oveni, 21, Colonial Sile (Vilita) | 6 ft 5 in
LW 11. Edith Fillar, 18, Shamrock Cathair (Audioslavia) | 5 ft 7 in
RW 20. Cyrus Vette, 20, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 1 in
ST 21. Sandara Park, 18, Chromatik U-18s | 6 ft 5 in
LW 22. Mesi Klarlmas, 20, University of the Islands | 6 ft
RW Gerry Hawthorne, 20 - Urrheddiao State University (CMT)
A model citizen on and off the pitch whose demeanor is so disarming that he can catch opponents flat-footed. Possesses an assassin's mindset of deciding when the right moment to strike is and then making the most of the opportunity.

ST Karra Oveni, 21 - Colonial Sile (VIL)
The model Chromatik striker of the new school, that is, the supportive striker, Oveni is someone who doesn't mind getting by on rebounds and letting other positions have a chance at goals. She can take over games by her persistent presence in front of the goal and her ability to work with other playmakers.

LW/LM Edith Fillar, 18 - Shamrock Cathair (AUD)
The youngest of the Fillars, Edith is the next coming of Megan Kelly, or the Chromatik winger who's short but can run circles around would-be defenders and take over the game due to where she is on the pitch. She may not be the quickest off the ball, but she has the relentlessness that has been present on many great Chromatik wingers. With the mindset of a drill sergeant who is definitely the strictest on herself, Edith's career is just beginning.

RW Cyrus Vette, 20 - Felswyr State University (CMT)
A header specialist whose midrange shot isn't the most accurate but uses his size and drive to be at the right place at the right time in order to make the most of the opportunities presented.

ST Sandara Park, 18 - Chromatik U-18s (CMT)
Park has been at the center of the perennial Youth League champions, being at the right place at the right time and being deadly with short-ranged shots. She's more of a poacher than a pure shooter, but the way that she is where she needs to be goes beyond anything that's usually taught.

LW Mesi Klarlmas, 20 - University of the Islands (CMT)
A busybody with the ball who can run circles around defenders but doesn't do well with physicality. Has a great left foot and a subpar right one, but is very good shooting from sharp angles.

Usual Starting Lineup:
SUNDRIFTER
PATERSON - HUO - MIXON
BAUM - POWELL - FILLAR, B. (C) - KEEL
HAWTHORNE - OVENI - FILLAR, E.

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around, they will not however engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.

Presenting: The Ranorian U21 National Soccer Team - The Snow Cubs

Coach: Claudia Williams, 41 years old. Claudia played in the now defunct Association of Ranorian Soccer about a decade ago and was one of the better players it's had. She's a good coach with a solid eye for talent.

Starters in bold, subs are underlined, reserves are just regular text
Strikers:
Tatiana Queen - 19 - High School - Fluid athlete in every sense of the word, high ceiling, main scorer
Claus Staebler - 20 - Memphis Delta Blues - Bigger kid with a physical presence a concussion history due to headers
Andrew Raban - 19 - High School - Raban's athletic and improved - but far from a polished player

Hannah Clyde - 17 - High School - steady and consistent, will contribute but not much of a scorer
Ferris Hairston - 17 - High School - good straight line speed, can be out of control at times

Tim Beamer - 18 - High School - nifty technician with an eye for narrow openings, risk-taker

Midfielders
Gwen Helmine - 20 - Ranoria City Privateers - More of a defensive player, she'll stop up the opposition
Hermann Heidenreich - 19 - Mathensville Polytechnic University- Disciplined and technical
Otto Hertner - 20 - Vricksinburg Thunder - Has a mean streak and gets red carded a lot

Blake Savage - 17 - Solid ball distributor
Kaya Fuller - 18 - good at disrupting advancement of the ball

Hunter Mourir - 16 - Potential top talent but won't see much playing time due to his youth

Defenders
David Yarbrugh - 20 - Ashialand Blizzard - Fast and aggressive, tends to over pursue but gets some turnovers as a result
Naomi Gordon - 19 - High School - Great feet, thrives on forcing defenders to pass the ball out
Nicola Goldstein - 19 - High School - hasn't quite grown into his frame but possesses plus athleticism
Ronald Finke - 19 - High School - flashes a ton of talent, but he's been inconsistent to this point

Lucas Schuttler - 20 - Highport Heroes - Schuttler's a solid player, but nothing to write home about
Donnie Jones - 17 - High school - very disciplined player without the maturity to take many risks

Goalkeepers:
Frankie Busch - 19 - Northport University - Extremely talented and developed, makes spectacular saves look easy
Emilia Albrecht - 20 - Highport Heroes - One of a few bright spots on the worst team in Ranorian Soccer[/quote]

Key Losses (projected National Teamers in upcoming World Cup Qualifiers)

Defenders:
Andrew Parrish - 21 Budding star for the best team in Ranoria, barely missed the cut for the NT
Sabra Sapharina - 21 - Up-and-comer who frequently denies open shots on goal

Midfielders:
Marian Korngold - 20 - Highport Heroes - Best player on the worst team in Ranorian soccer
Janina Louise - 19 - Ashialand Blizzard - aggressive passer. Hits spectacular assists but causes turnovers

After the U-18 and senior teams made their debuts earlier this team, the Tjorlish U-21 national football team is set to follow suit as they make their debut in Di Bradini Cup 53. Despite the bucket loads of U-21 footballing talent all over the country, many of the players from the U-21 team's regular line-up such as Johan Kalbfleisch, Konrad Nikulásson, and Henrik Nordnes have not been included, simply because they are currently committed to other forms of the national team. Coach Antoni Michalski is known for his balanced style of play and technical precision. Meanwhile, players such as David Herz and Viktor Bergheim perfectly complement his style of play, and will hopefully bag and assist some crucial goals for the squad.

This is a numbers puppet. Feel free to discard. Also, puppet of Chromatika.

About Octapolis: Octapolis is a megacity that is contained in a spaceship that orbits the known universe. This megacity is split into eight distinct sections, Districts 1-8, which have their own inhabitants, cultures, and functions. Octapolis is ruled over by the Council of Eight, of which one is the OmegaCaptain. Currently, the OmegaCaptain, K'sh'ar Hynn, a Brinoghan, has decided that a scout craft will be allowed to take some of the best youth footballers of Octapolis (straight out of the Academy League) to the U-21 tournament.

The Species of Octapolis:
Brinoghan: Akin to earth's turtles that stand on their hind two feet, Brinoghans have a tough shell that protect most of their body. In Ocatapois, most of the Brinoghans inhabit District 1, where they are responsible for the star drive and machinery that keep the megacity spaceship running. They are quick-thinking, industrious, and work well together with the other species. In sports, Brinoghans are used best in situations where they can collaborate with others to set up plays. In football, they usually play in the midfield or on the wings, ready to create at all times.

Fashtel: A thin, spindly humanoid race, Fashtel are recognizable by their almost transparent skin and bald features. Monogendered, Fashtel are created at the very place where the previous one died, which has led to a culture that treats death as a celebration. Fashtel find themselves mostly in District 2, where they task themselves being the industrial center of Octapolis, making the various household goods and appliances that are needed for the city to run. In sports, Fashtel are best used in situations where physicality is not needed. In football, Fashtel are a rare sight, but can make appearances as strikers who just happen to be at the right spot.

Kan Goren: A quadrupedal race that average about five feet six inches in height, Kan Goren are recognizable by the twin horns that protrude from their forehead and the glorious mane that flow down their backs. Kan Goren are a race that love to be in community. Living in District 3, Kan Goren are, by nature, strong and hardworking farmers that grow all the food that the megacity needs in order to survive. In sports, Kan Goren are used in situations where power is needed more than speed. In football, Kan Goren make great defenders.

Ysrbi: Yserbi are a hive of insectoid creatures that resemble that of a praying mantis with four wings on the back. Yserbi work well together, being able to communicate with each other telepathically. This makes them absolutely great soldiers, making District 4 the military district of Octapolis. Yserbi make up more than 80% of the Octapolis military, making great foot soldiers, space marines, and the like. Yserbi are used very often in sports due to their telepathic nature, often times being pairs on football teams.

Basalt-Ani: A robotic species that gained sapience during the journeys of Octapolis, Basalt-Ani make up more than 61% of the population of Octapolis, and inhabit Districts 5-8, where they are responsible for everything else. They can vary in size and configuration, there being more than twenty different models. Basalt-Ani are in almost any sports team, and football is no exception.

Gaban'Hasana: Gaban'Hasana take care of the spiritual needs of Octapolis. A priesthood of spiritual beings - other species would call them "ghosts", Gaban'Hasana have been with Octapolis since it was launched from the home galaxy eons ago, and remain there still. The words of the Gaban'Hasana are revered, and their direction has never been questioned. There are nine Gaban'Hasana, and each of them have their own distinct form. As they are the Priesthood, they don't play sports.

Finding a good keeper that stays consistent and does not have an absolute howler that wrecks their confidence is a very difficult prospect not just for Pasargans but for most nations and clubs as well. There are not many women in the dual islands who like to play the keeper position, as most defensive minded women players prefer to play as a fullback or the occasional centerback. Maja Topić is one of those rare exceptions and she has developed quite well since leaving the dual islands, getting the sort of training that puts her a notch above the other two competitors as well as her natural reflexes that will hopefully see her excel in the position.

CB: Annamária Sághi, age 20, Hellinic Rouge (F)
RB: Vjekoslava Barišić, age 20, Baskita FC (F)
RB: Mislav Ivančić, age 20, Tanrısal
This is going to be the unit of players that will present quite a few questions for the manager, as only a single starter returns from the team that made it into the semifinals of the last tournament. Irena Horvat is starting games in Cassadiagua and with a team that made it to the Challengers Cup, clearly the young defender has something going for her and will be paired with Philipp Köhler for the moment with the Lunas defender having played the best in the youth league out of the other options, being a standard sort of defender who is tall and strong but remarkably quick for a 6'4" indvidual. Amadeo Enríquez is that sole player who returns as a starter and his play last tournament and in helping firm up CAP's spot as the new best youth team in the dual islands gets him the captaincy this tournament and he will be formidable both in defense as well as supporting the attack. If Vjekoslava Barišić on the other side of the defense can hold her own like she did with her domestic team, this should be a fairly good unit, although probably the weakest set of players in the team.

Midfielders
RW: Dunya Areebah Asfour, age 18, Baskita FC (F)
RW: Sumaiya Zakiyyah Aswad, age 20 Stein-los Turkish (F)
A/MCLR: Sebestyen Sallay, age 20, Chromatik Image
A/MC: Áron Gombos, age 18, CA Paulinthal
MC: Jadranko Lončar, age 21, Hellinic Rouge
MC: Tomáš Zeman, age 21, Baskita FC
LW: Jana Ducháčová, age 20, Duke of the North (F)
LW: Lehel Komáromy, age 19, Hellinic Rouge
Unlike the previous two tournaments, there is not much turnover in the midfield for this tournament and that sort of stability in theory should make the entire unit perform better as a whole. The star of the entire midfield is Sallay, a bit of a utility knife of a player but does his best in playing the more advance midfielder position as the link between the midfield and attack, almost a free role to do as he wants. Jadranko Lončar gets to start this tournament after being a good substitute last tournament and will be the sort of ball winning midfielder that screens for the defense and allows the more attacking options their freedom to move forward. Aswad retains her spot with good work domestically, playing games with Turkish's senior team at times last season, and Jana Ducháčová bursts into the team after her and Duke of the North befuddled the entire youth league with their offensive abilities and her crossing being at the forefront of that attacking fluidity.

Strikers
ST: Nikolett Horváth, age 20, Oslograd Academy Image (F)
ST: Áron Sultis, age 21, CA Paulinthal
ST: Adelbert Mezei, age 20, Baskita FC
ST: Matej Cindrić, age 19, Duke of the North
After losing her place in the starting eleven for the last tournament, Horváth has reclaimed the starting spot, though not without much competition from the two new strikers who were trying to lodge themselves into the first eleven. She is probably the most complete striker in terms of overall ability, but Mezei has most pace and a stronger shot as well, hence why he retains his spot in the starting eleven. Sultis currently is primarily a pace merchant but has a bit of an unselfish streak that keeps him from scoring as much as one might think she should at the level he is playing at and how often he gets in behind opposition defenders. Matej Cindrić however is on the opposite end of the spectrum, with a more average amount of pace compared to the other three striking options, but extremely lethal in front of net, playing almost like a poacher if not also for his ability to curl or power in long rage efforts that oft catch keepers by surprise.

Note: In the Adabian timeline, the U21 World Cup takes place around July-August 2038. Age is as of July 1, 2038.

The Adabian Under-21 National Football Team

So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.
-Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

BACKGROUND
A round of 16 finish in the previous iteration of the Di Bradini Cup was satisfactory enough for Rashid Abbas and the AFA. As the latest batch of Adab’s best young players heads to Valanora to once again duke it out with the youth of the rest of the multiverse, Abbas cautions against setting expectations too high. “I’d love for us to win this tournament, and I think we can do it,” he said. “But most of all this will serve as a barometer of just how good our young players can be, and an indication of where Adabian football is heading.”

KIT
Image

The national team's kits, designed by Ahmad Enlil (the first President of the Football Association) in 1907, are currently manufactured by Shining Sun Company, owned by Rahman Ashurbanipal, businessman and grandson of Emperor Tizqar III.

STAFF
Manager: Rashid ABBAS - Male – born February 15, 1987 (age 51)
Rashid Abbas has been juggling his two jobs as senior team assistant manager and U21 team manager very well and by all accounts is content and more enthusiastic than ever. “We’ve got some great players right now,” Abbas said. “The future is bright for Adabian football.”

Assistant manager and general coach: Yitzhak BENNETT - Male – born September 20, 1976 (age 61)
A highly popular and stabilizing influence in the senior national team, Bennett is keen to carry on the good vibes – and successful coaching – to the U21 team. He and Abbas have established a good working relationship in the senior team, which will prove to be more important than ever as they lead the youngsters to international glory.

Goalkeeping coach: Faishal AR-RASHID - Male – born August 14, 1978 (age 59)
Ar-Rashid insists that he has energy to operate as goalkeeping coach for both the senior and U21 teams. “It’s always good when you see young people coming up the ranks, emerging from the academies and training camps,” he said. “I can’t wait to work with them.”

Physio: Hamza RIDHA - Male – born January 15, 1983 (age 55)
The ever-loyal and reliant senior national team physio, he did not hesitate when Abbas asked him to help out with the U21 squad. Commands the unanimous respect of fellow staff and players.

STADIUM
Image

Adab City Stadium, the pride and joy of Adabian football, was completed in 1940. Located in the northern part of Adab City, the stadium was able to accommodate 40,000 people at the time of its opening. Renovations in 1978 made it an all-seater stadium and expanded its capacity to 55,350. Later it increased to 75,000 following upgrades in 2009-10 and then 76,500 after another upgrade in 2019. It is currently home to the Adabian national football team and Adab City FC.

TACTICS AND FORMATION
The team will use 4-3-2-1, the "Christmas tree" formation, with an emphasis on gegenpressing – immediately working to take back possession after losing the ball and launching a quick counterattack before the opponent can take the initiative. Any opposition players with the ball will find themselves swarmed and cut off quickly.

The Federation of Mertagnian Football Presents...
Image
The Mertagnian National Football Team
for the U21WC74/Di Bradini Cup 53

Our History:

Mertagne, fresh off of having won the Under 18 World Cup, have a lot to prove on the Under 21 stage. As the nation's football teams are growing from strength to strength under the management of Ázëwyn Fëanáro and company, this tournament could be a decisive stepping stone on the Green Goblins' journey to greatness.

Our Key Staff:

Manager: Ázëwyn Fëanáro, 4,091, Image Calming, Sensible, Lithe, Architect
Having managed Mertagne's Under 18 side to their first victory under her watchful eye, Ázëwyn Fëanáro is here to prove that such a feat is possible for Mertagne in the Di Bradini Cup. Personal attachments to the Cup's namesake aside, Fëanáro has proved that she is committed to Mertagne and is ready to deliver with a squad that contains some Under 18 World Cup winners within it. Names such as Graham Ellerby, Taylor Tarr, and the two Lewises up front clinched victory in Xanneria and Starcom Racing, and Fëanáro is hoping that they will have the hunger to take home another trophy in the Under 21 World Cup.

Calming almost to a fault, Ázëwyn Fëanáro has been a breath of fresh air for the face of Mertagnian football, drilling down into the organisational structure and making key changes with a cadre of dilligent staff members by her side. The higher-ups at the FMF have taken a back seat, and as long as Fëanáro con continue to deliver, they'll remain unlikely to tug on the reigns of power.

Assistant Manager: Kristie Ettrick, 42, Image Aggressive, Intense, Compact, Dissenter
Kristie Ettrick is one heck of a compliment to Ázëwyn Fëanáro. Having managed the senior side in a caretaking position, and now serving as an assistant manager and coach on that side, self-described firecracker Ettrick is the loud and bossy one during media appearances, much in contrast to Fëanáro's more tempered approach. Ettrick grew up in the slums of Neorudo's Old City, now a gentrified cultural landmark, and is firecely protective of her home, her family, and her squad.

The squad will be playing with a style modifier of +4, as this attack-focused bunch plays to the emerging modal style of Mertagnian football - score early to build a quick lead, then play a possession based game while staying ahead for the rest of the match.

*Thanks to Ko-oren for the traits data and format. Mertagnian traits follow a [mental][mental][physical][style] format.

Typically, a player closer to the top of the chart within each position is more likely to be picked. This outfit of the Mertagnian National team will be playing in a 4-4-2 formation, a classic that looks to serve a solid defence but carry the ball forward regularly to put pressure on the opponent.
If you RP first, you are encouraged to make a team selection that works for you.

A quick look at the staff notes shows...

Most likely to...
Score a goal: Lewis Morgota, Lewis Travers, Graham Ellerby
Kick off a set piece: Lydia Gomboult, Keir Jeffery, Saskia Maker
Make a magnificent cross: Leigh Eyre, Tevente Kings, Paula Riddell
Stop an opposing attack: Haizene Fairchild, Honorio Menez, Siobhan Davison
Get too stuck in and get a card: Lewis Travers, Derek Kemp, Jordan Will
Do something out of the ordinary: Leigh Eyre, Haizene Fairchild, Txomin Huon, Damien Gannet

Lineup & Tactics
Image

On Ball
  • Counter attack
  • High Tempo
  • Pass into space
  • Limit dribbles
  • Distribute to center backs
Off Ball
  • Press quickly
  • Force opponents wide
  • Harass defenders/Keeper
  • Keep backline solid

The Rekan lineup for the latest Di Bradini Cup employed a miniature version of the incumbent Rekan system, the primary goal for the side is to create players for the senior side in line with the Federal Football Associations current vision. The side lines up with three center backs. Two defenders are geared for stopping attacking play, while the other is a ball passer who more often plays up the line. One midfielder is a destructive force and a ball winner at times. A second will move up and down. He'll always be in a place to help methodically. The last midfielder is optimally a creator and a goal scoring threat. Wing backs are employed who will need to cover a large amount of ground each matchup. Up front are two forwards who play to score.

The side is focused on solidity. In a pinch, the midfield can turn into a double pivot. Teams will be forced wide on their attacks, freeing up more space in the middle. The front line is expected to contribute defensively, forcing countries with talented back lines to distribute long. In transition, the side will use counter attacks meant to capitalize on the opposition’s weakness. If they can’t score right away, the side will work with a high tempo, pass into space, and try to move into the penalty box. Keepers with the ball are recommended to look for the center backs. Backs can either swiftly pass away to a safe option, or get the ball to the ball playing center half.

Set Piece Takers
  • Corners: Tomidamjan Miroslawić (L), William Strom (R), Petar Wukić (L), Walter Danijelić (R)
  • Free kicks: William Strom, Šime Margetić-Šišić, Tomidamjan Miroslawić
  • Penalties: Ana Rumen, William Strom, Walter Danijelić, Šime Margetić-Šišić, Barto Milosawljewić, Tomidamjan Miroslawić, Petar Wukić, Heinrich Jugelt, Djordje Kerschbaum, Bart Milanić, Max Dunst
Known for trying corners in past editions, set piece play remains a strong part of the current Rekan tactical system. Corner takers are usually aggressive, though some passive options will be employed to prevent predictability. The box will tend to fill up as well, though this seems to a pattern more common at the youth level. Smaller players are trusted with kicking. Free kicks are entrusted to the side's snipers, chiefly William Strom. The forwards are expected to play a vital part in the success of free kicks.

Defending corners will usually be a ten player effort, with Ana Rumen the designated player for breakaways. One player, generally a fullback, plays shallowly to prevent short corners from going unmarked. The other eight outfielders form a two layer defense in stacks of four. The marking isn't tight in dead ball situations, nor is there a significant Rekan counter press. Free kick defense is comparatively simple. All keepers have acceptable vision and vertical skills, and there's enough players around 1.8m tall for a solid wall.

Kits
Image
The newest kits for the Rekan national team were provided by Čast. The largest sportswear manufacture headquartered in Zeta Reka, Čast’s team innovated a new look for the Rekan team. The yellow and red colors have been preserved, but with the home side employing a mostly black outfit. The away jerseys look like Rekan outfits of old, with a more golden yellow combined with white and a hint of red. Lead designer Friedrich Fuhrman spoke of the change, “The Rekan team is beginning to enter a new era," Fuhrman spoke on at the unveiling conference “We at Čast read the direction of the sport, and felt it was time for a new era.”

Star players

Kieran Fortuna
Although looking for fame abroad Kieran is the next top goalie, he has the youth all time record of clean sheets in the Starsian Youth league and has been keeper of the year multiple times.
He is a stable and reliable pillar of support both for the national teams and his club abroad, he also is the son of former national team keeper Keenan Fortuna who is referred to as the best goalkeeper in Starsian history.
While he is young alot is expected from him but so far he is living up to all expectations and it is no doubt to say we will soon see him in the senior team with his exceptional talent.

Federico Zaratti
Another child-star who has been already in senior team aswell, Federico Zaratti is a world class defender with a great future ahead within the national team and his own team Phoenix United.
He has yet to win any major prizes with his club but he already is one of the best players on their team and is growing every season to be a very valuable asset in defence.
He also is capable of giving proper lead to any defence and forms a great team with anyone regardless of playing style he can work with any team and any player which makes him a natural talent.

Zeyna Chardan
The third child-star is Zeyna a great game-maker and creative midfielder and not to mention a formidable strategist to which can't be compared in the current generation.
She is regarded as the heart of the midfield and has been captain of many team leading nearly all of them to victory and championships during her days as a youth player.
Her father Zeyan Chardan was also a exceptional player who taught her everything he could and turned her into what some people would refer to as the next Starsian Star.

Victoria Tolisso
She is the oldest of the Tolisson sisters and has speed and a great passing reach, she is a very good team player and technical plays are a specialty of hers.
Victoria has the ability avoid any defender she can easily take on 3 on her own without worrying, however her confidence at times can also work against her which is something she has to work on.
Her experience in the SuperLeague gave her an advantage over the others and her speed and technique is an essential asset to the team especially with counter-attacks and when the game is fast-paced.

The Stadium, Castle Hills Stadium

Our home ground will be the Castle Hills stadium which has place for as much as 85,000 soccer fans from all over the multiverse and between the central forest and the city of Greenville in The 14 Stars.
All women's team matches when possible are played here because of the history they made here and the fact that the very foundation of this team was made in this stadium many many years ago.
