On that day, YouTuber Drew Durnil posted a video where he joined this game known as Nationstates. Soon, tens of thousands of NationStates accounts were created, most which were by his fans. In the period after his joining, the NationStates atmosphere was full of chaos. The website slowed down and crashed for a few minutes, Confederacy of Layem, the region that he decided to join, almost had its WA Delegate at the time (Layem) replaced because of the amount of WA nations joining the game, and then, an unsuccessful attempt was made at giving him Security Council condemnation.
Today, we celebrate the second anniversary of this incident, known as the Drewpocalypse. By this time, many of the nations created on that day have dissolved. Few still stand today, like this nation which I have revived specifically to create this thread. In between the period of its first and second anniversaries, Drew’s channel has undergone the most growth since it was created. It’s most likely that everyone has moved on from the moment of chaos that was the Drewpocalypse. I just decided to make this thread to commemorate two years since the event, which introduced me, and many other people to the world of NationStates.
