Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Karra Rasseri
    Aliases: Soul Angel
    Gender: F
    Age: Chronologically 22, mentally 17
    Appearance:
Chillin in human low-power non-combat mode

Combat/work modes replace skin and clothing with a more streamlined armor-like appearance, complete with various rounded external light sources, useful for flying at night but primarily for being minimum-resistance energy discharge for pew-pew and the like.

    Height: 5' 10"/178cm Weight: 404lbs/183.5kg

Motivations
Goals: Reobtain humanity and emotion? When you have no feeling, what are goals?
Fears: Do i feel fear? Is this nothingness, this emptiness, what fear is for my kind? If i never became human again, would i be afraid?

Strengths and Weaknesses
    Source of Power: Spiritual Machine
    Powers :
Spiritual Machine Physiology: Karra is, to put simply, a human Soul in an Android body. Ghost in the Shell is real now, with added spirit powers and a real life HUD and character customization screen. Her physiology grants the following:

Enhanced Condition: Being a fully artificial bio-mechanical "lifeform" of an android, Karra is by her very nature pushed past the limitations of peak humanity in all fields. Everything from the Strength to lift 4-5.5 tons in perfect control, and punch through 6 feet of normal building grade concrete - the speed to maintain 70km/h with ease and fly up to speeds of 600km/h in base form (though the energy use is terrific, it is used for short distances at lower speeds), and the durability to shrug off anything less than armor-piercing rifle rounds or still be functioning after small-medium sized explosions or building collapses. Even her emotions and her very Soul itself are Enhanced.

Spiritual Force Manipulation/Soul Manipulation: Karra's new body is specifically designed to harness the power of the Soul as an energy source, weapons, attacks, armor, healing, you get the idea. With it she can generate energy, use blasts of Soul Energy as direct attacks, or infuse objects such as her sword or fists with it to increase attack power. It can be solidified to form a shield, as well as used heal more minor wounds or assist and speed up healing of more severe ones in biological lifeforms. She can see other souls, and when in direct contact can Read them, or absorb them, or perform a real life exorcism. Her body and sword further count as Soul-Bonded armor and weapons, as their bio-mechanical nature is partly made from the DNA of her former body, and as a result, are useless to anyone else.

Absorption involves the... absorption of a human soul from its body, temporarily, into her own. Morally, Ethically, and Safety wise, this is expressly only permitted with consent. Though, it can be done forcefully, the target has the ability to fight back, first by resisting removal from their body, and second by fighting Karra in hers to either escape, or take control themselves. Even with consent, it will take 5-7 seconds to safely withdraw a soul, and a fight for this process could easily go on for minutes if there is no clear upper hand by either side. During this time, both parties are immobilized, though Karra retains the ability to abort the process at any time. Once successful, a consensual absorption would be used in an attempt to spark an emotion. A non-consensual one would become a fight to control the new body, and will make normal functionality impossible for it's duration, as well as cause increasingly severe internal damage the longer it goes on, requiring repair, or possibly outright rescue. Furthermore, to go through any of this at all requires direct bodily contact, involving its own risks in achieving, and only one at a time.

Destruction of Souls is not possible, or at least not proven. Regardless, Karra's response to the question is that some knowledge is never meant to be known, and to anyone seriously trying to unlock it, her response will be the delightful sound of you being stabbed to death.

Souls can be understood as "the mind", a metaphysical presence of energy representing the consciousness and brain. Tampering or harming them directly is dangerous, and is a literal attack on the conscious itself. Souls have a natural and powerful inclination to their own bodies, a soul removed from its body but released into the world, will always travel to return to its living vessel. An exorcised soul, as performed in a literal exorcism by Karra, could instead be captured in the way she was, or simply tossed into whatever religions variation of hell happens to be true.

After a consensual absorption, the soul is (obviously) peacefully returned to its body. During its little adventure, its native body is effectively a vegetable, with nothing but vital functions still operating. During a non consensual absorption, the conflict takes place as a battle of souls, a contest of willpower, emotion, all that fun complicated mess that makes people, people.

Soul Reading is defined by the following: They can study and observe the nature of one's soul and find weaknesses based on the nature of the observed souls. By reading souls, the user can see/feel the being's characteristics, personality, feelings, memories, whether they even have a soul, damage others' souls have endured, and whether or not another entity is possessing or influencing the person on a spiritual level. It is far, far easier and safer to resist this if so inclined. However, in the event of successful absorption, this happens automatically.

Soul Energy can form nifty shields to handle bullets and explosions to falling buildings and things of that caliber. or projectiles as unnerving as a swarm of pistol-caliber ammunition to small field guns (37-45mm). The upper levels of these, of course, require Karra to have unlocked her specialized forms.

Advanced Bio-Mechanical Exoskeleton: The new and most updated version of her body is a highly advanced, currently one-of-a-kind, bio-mechanical exoskeleton created from her former body's DNA, nanorobotics, and ArchAngel's proprietary Soul Amplification technology. As a result, it not only possesses the strengths of being artificial as mentioned before, but feels no less natural than her original body - and - most importantly, is fully customizable. Everything about her appearance and physical form can modified. Theoretically if she so desired she could turn into a cube, for whatever reason. More pointedly, this functions to give her the ability to analyze combat and experience data and make modifications and improvements, even real-time as they happen. This is how she gets her white-golden glowy orbs and ability to project wings for flight.

This includes fully harmonizing with her Soul Manipulation, and using the massively increased power response from emotions to radically change and min/max out of her base form into something more specialized. There are three primary "Trees" of this specialization. Assault, which min/mazes to cut defense and armor and dump everything into speed, agility and weapons systems, and glows red! Guardian, which reduces offensive and general weapons and mobility operations to maximize raw physical strength and durability and defensive measures, and glows blue! Finally, the Ascendance tree, which is currently still in theoretical design phase, but is meant to be a general across the board increase of performance, essentially combining Assault and Guardian into a third and final form. It's also commonly referred to as "Karra 2.0".

The assault mode primarily tosses out endurance, durability and survivability. This means it puts extreme strain on everything, and will rip apart improvised parts much faster, but if it decides to disable all critical base survival processes it will damage even the good parts. Durability means it loses all the armor and throws it into energy generation, and more places it can shoot things and make go fast happen with max efficiency. Survivability means it also reduces the base frame beneath the armor to its minimum acceptable limits and may again, disable important things like "Self preservation" or power throughput limits. So the only defense it has is being very fast and being surrounded by an aura of energy eating things it comes into contact with. Aura is the only reason you'd still need high powered firearms. In doing this it dumps everything into higher energy generation for greater general power to everything. The small cannon shots can either become more numerous or just bigger, less a swivel gun and more a 37 or 45mm, the bullet like projectiles can either just get stronger or become a storm of submachine gun ammo pattering into walls sort of thing. The form is improved aerodynamically and adds thrust directly to the legs to overpower drag on straight foot while pushing through the back where the flight slots are to give added lift.

For the Guardian mode, essentially invert the above, it reduces overall firepower and mobility to increase energy generation and throw it all into added armor and shielding. The best way to imagine it is: Assault is when you want a Platoon of Tanks for breakthrough, Guardian is when you want Engineers. Either way, both will require support for their shortcomings.

While the customization of her body can theoretically turn into anything - there is one caveat - its mass must remain the same.

Karra's advanced systems have the ability to consume local solid matter and transform it into replacement parts. These parts are nowhere near as good as the original, and this low-level regeneration is the Souldroid equivalent of battlefield triage.

    Abilities:
Way of the Sword: She does carry a sword, she does know how to use it, pretty damn well, even for an android with enhanced learning and physical capabilities. Any human master not backed up by their own meta powers would be wise to not even think about it.
Anti-Personnel Combat Training: From algorithms to throwing money at special forces veterans, she has been trained in multiple forms of what can be generally described as, anti-personnel operations.
    Equipment:
Soul Breaker: Fancy bio-mechanical-spiritual sword whose existence and usage is unique to Karra herself.
    Weaknesses:
Apathetic: Karra cannot feel emotions. At all. Zip, zilch, nada. Numerous experiments have been tried, including absorbing (leeching, they call it) the souls of fleshy human ArchAngel employees to try and trigger an emotional response. It hasn't worked, and while it's theorized and actual bond between the target and Karra is required, the fact remains that having no emotion not only makes her a tad useless for anything involving a personal touch, but also completely incapable of progressing beyond her baseline functionality. While typically enough on its own, its well known and not unheard of for far more dangerous entities and situations to exist, and in such an event, well. She's a bit fucked.

Control Error: Without question, the Soul Manipulation granted by this unforeseen body upgrade is powerful. It is also, however, extremely primitive and far from mastery. While it can, like anything else be blocked or deflected, more interestingly, is that any half competent magician or soul powers or such things user, could just as easily redirect it entirely, or negate it, or whatever else. Being her own power, it would be elementary for Karra to block or defeat this counter. Of course, if, for some reason she's unable to do that... like you're pointing it at a hostage and she chooses to protect them, the damage will be... debilitating. As it is her own Soul Energy shot back at her, this is, quite literally, self harm, and the best case effects from a relatively low power shot would be equivalent to trying fight through a mild tranquiller, while a relatively strong shot, would cause outright and immediate incapacitation, as well as a delightful stew of psychological pain and problems ontop of the physical.
This lack of control further extends to Karra's powered modes. Her EC enhances everything her soul - but also her emotion. Imagine if you had no memory at all of ever experiencing emotion, and, then, suddenly, you felt 10x more rage or love than any human could ever experience. How would you react? Probably the same way Karra would, by going absolutely out of control mad. Flying into a murderous, unstoppable attack doctrine, or becoming so consumed with matters of the heart what offensive ability she retains would not see itself used on the villain. Though, she would at least still be shielding innocents and allies, she'd also be trying to everyone from continuously trying to kill each other, or otherwise being easily baited into sacrificing herself and position to save someone, that sort of thing.

A Ghost in the Shell, if you will: Karra relies pretty heavily on her Soul Powers. If by chance you're immune or resistant to this, your life got alot easier. If by chance you use such things yourself, and yours is stronger, your life just got set to easy mode, as you can cause some extreme, debilitating, or if you're really strong, outright existence-ending damage quickly. And, as mentioned in the Spirit techno-babble, nonconsensual absorptions that make it to her body will cause increasingly severe and critical damage to her internally, potentially requiring outright rescue to even escape.

Background:
Job: Hero Contractor for ArchAngel Technologies, currently Contracted to UNMAO-IRIS
    Legal Status: United States Citizen
Backstory: On December 21st, 2012, there was much abuzz from many a fool around the globe over. Convinced the world would end. An ancient stone age civilization that went extinct long ago, who despite their primitive origins, mapped the stars and celestials with alarming accuracy, just so happened to have their incredibly accurate calendars end on this date. So the "logic" went, the world must surely be set to end on this day.

The world, of course, did not end on December 21st, 2012. Or, at least not for 99% of humanity, it did not. For a 12 year old girl in Chicago, daughter of two wealthy parents, her father a Co-Founding investor of ArchAngel Technologies headquartered within the city, the world most certainly did end on this day. As she was driven home from school by her chauffeur, and accompanying team of bodyguards, the small convoy of three vehicles was attacked, right in the middle of the city. Ostensibly, the objective of the religious terrorists was to kidnap the girl, named Karra, and use her life as a bargaining chip against her father and ArchAngel, who had gathered immense ire from the religious for their extensive and often controversial work with trying to marry incredible technology to magic, mutants, non-human entities, and even - and most egregiously - Souls.

A fight erupted in the middle of the city as her bodyguard resisted. As the battle raged on, and help came from local authorities and meta humans thwarted the attack soundly. However, in the combat, Karra was mortally injured by explosives, with significant parts of her body torn up or missing - beyond what even ArchAngel could repair. Transported to the HQ and accompanying lab in Chicago, the elite medical and technology team reported to her father and the Board of Directors that she could not be saved. Even the most advanced life support systems would only give her another 12 hours at best. The received an expected bout of silence for their news...

Her father, Argus Rasseri, stood up and signed a paper on the table before him. The team received the first words from a grieving parent, and their boss. "The first human soul-capture experiment begins now. You have until the subject's body is no longer viable." The call was cut immediately afterwards. An emergency call was placed to all staff, halting all other projects, and summoning all off-duty staff on-site immediately. At this point time, experiments had only been conducted on animals. The first test on monkeys was barely two years prior, and while the system had been developed further upon towards eventual human testing, the road map for even considering the first experiments were a decade away.

Thirteen hours later, the teams assembled in the large conference hall with the Board of Directors. It was stated plainly, that if this had not worked, Karra Rasseri was now gone from this earth. The system used was simple, essentially connecting a Soul to a computer. No body, no nothing, just a direct plugin to a computer. Argus was instructed to call for her, and as he did so, the monitor turned on, showing nothing but a black and green wall of code which seemed to scroll on and on. Finally, as the code faded, a message appeared on screen. "Dad? Why can't i feel anything?"

After a few minutes fanfare, Karra's Soul was put into stasis, and stored. The first ever soul-capture on a human subject was successful. For the next 3 years, she remained in stasis. Momentarily awakened to test a new kind of android body, being designed specifically for soul-captured humans. While a success, it was nowhere near ready to properly accommodate a human consciousness comfortably, and she was returned to stasis again for 2 more years.

Awakened once again, Karra would be in the very first iteration of what would be further developed into her current body. Designed to be a combination of bio-mechanics and a Soul, it was incapable of operating or functioning in anyway without a captured human soul, the only one currently in existence. A few months later, Argus on behalf of ArchAngel Technologies, held a press conference to tell the world two pieces of great news: his daughter was alive, and the first human soul was successfully taken unharmed from its body, and given a new, artificial one to replace it.

Testing continued for the next 5 years, alongside inhouse education, struggling primarily and immensely with her unexpected and inexplicable apathy - total lack of emotion. Though she had memories, she could not remember what emotions even felt like. Experiments from Therapy, to capturing and "leeching" souls herself, with the now far more advanced technology to do so at her body's disposal, failed. As questions from a curious public continued to roll in for years, wondering if the Soul-powered Android would be joining the ranks of heroes with her new power, it became popular consensus at ArchAngel that for the Soul Leech to work properly, she would need an actual emotional bond to the target. There was no concrete evidence for this, of course, but nonetheless it convinced the Board, who authorized a one-time experimental deployment with local agencies to test the waters.

The local deployment was a success on all levels, from the agencies point of view and especially for ArchAngel, where Karra had not only been a functioning and notable role in an operation targeting gangs in Chicago's South-Side. Specifically, she was noted for rescuing a smaller team of newer heroes like herself in the midst of a firefight, having used incredible speed to get there, durability and long-range high-accuracy combat to create a buffer for retreat, and performing first aid without the need of medical supplies. With this song of praise, the Board of Directors rapidly approved offering - with some arm twisting by dad - contractor status for her, a rare honor in circumstances such as these, and following her signing, contracted Karra to the United Nations, in part for international recognition.

Of course, she wouldn't be known as Karra anymore. She had returned with something other than experience from her local deployment. She had operated that first time without one, a hero alias.

    Soul Angel.

His strength is also enhanced, capable of denting redwood trees with a punch. When behind hardlight, it can shatter concrete and oak trees.
Increased stamina: His stamia is also enhanced, capable of running faster and longer than the average person.
Healing factor: The hardlight acts not only as a means of pain alleivement, it also assists in a mild healing factor. Minor cuts and bruises hael quickly, however grevious wounds take signifcantly longer to heal, stretching from days to weeks depending on its severity, necessitating bed rest.
Abilities: Multilingual: Gabriel can speak both Latin and Russian, in addition to his native English
Parkour/Freerunning: Gabriel is adept at both parkour and freerunning
Proficient fighter: Gabriel is a proficient hand-to-hand fighter, primarily specialising in boxing/brawling
Equipment: Combat Knife: Exactly what it says on the tin
Holy Water: A small vial that he carries around his neck
Weaknesses:[u[Only Human:[/u] Though his stamina is greater than that of a regular human, it is still capable of running out and leaing him exhausted if pushed too far.
The Sabbath: Gabriel doesn't work on Sundays
Defender of the Weak: Seeing his mission as being given to him by God, he is incapable in allowing innocent people to be injured or in danger. Should civilians be in the way or in imminent danger, he'll drop everything to ensure that they are rescued and out of harms way, even if it means allowing his foe to escape.

Background:
    Job: Priest/US DMA Agent
Legal Status: Full American Citizen, clean record
Backstory: Born in Mobile, Alabama to Catholic immigrants from Ireland, Gabriel's life has always been centred on religion. His schooling was based on it, he went to church every Sunday, he refrained from red meat on fridays. All in all, he was virtually indistinguishable from society, with his devoutness being the only stand out feature. Additionally, his father had a notable career in bare-knuckle boxing, and expected his son to follow in his footsteps to a decent degree. He blew through education, attaining decent enough grades to attend university, majoring in Theology and philosophy. He again excelled at university, becoming a vital player on the university's baseball team and a proficient boxer due to the fact he'd grown up.

Graduation didn't cause Gabriel to slow down at all, becoming ordained as a priest within the Catholic church, though he was not issued a herd to shepherd over. It was here that Gabriel began to act out, travelling to dangerous sections of his home state and assisting where he could, even if it went against the orders of his superiors. He even fled abroad on occasions, traveling to warzones to help those affected spiritually and to learn for himself that dangers of mankind and evil. It was during one such excursion that Gabriel was captured by a terrorist faction.

While such an event would be distressing on its own, this particular faction was interested in creating its own meta-human. Having been identified with carrying a gene that enabled meta mutation, he was subjected months under torture, hoping to kickstart it. Eventualy, he was rescued by the League of Twelve, but far too late as the mutation had already taken place, his wounds healing with his new healing factor yet he still remained confined to bed when he returned stateside, constant check ups to ensure his body was adapting well to his new found powers. As he healed, it became apparent that he had no memory of where his powers had originated, nor where he had been for the previous few months. He instead proscribed the powers as a gift from God, ardently believing that he had been put on an ordained task to use it for justice.

Unsure what would happen if they reminded him of how he got his powers, the DMA allowed Gabriel to continue believing this, sending him out on missions as he adapted and became increasingly proficient with the use of his powers, though several file reports have noted his aggression when caught in the midst of fighting and becoming somewhat brutal in his beatings. Deeming it a necessary evil, they continue to utilise Gabriel under the alias of Azrael, the Angel of Death.

Hardlight is a tad bit overpowered. I'd suggest dropping one or two powers or otherwise making his weaknesses more crippling. Until then, the app is not accepted.

Would his enhanced stamina and regeneration not naturally counteract his asthma? In either case, I do not feel it is an adequate weakness. As such I must ask for additional balancing to be performed.

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Unknown
    Aliases: Vyvia
    Gender: Female
    Age: unknown
    Appearance:
She can appear to be made of flesh and blood, complete with appropriate textures of hair and skin, however she is actually entirely composed of dirt, though she has displayed molten insides though as demonstrated by the occassional transition of her eyes turning molten, or her spewing a molten attack. However, scientifically speaking, this does not line up with conventional knowledge, as she has been seen to complete disperse into dirt. It is agreed that the Molten aspects must be a magical feature rather than a physical one. When not in dirt form, she appears to a young woman in her early twenties, with brown hair, gentle blue eyes, and either pale or tanned skin depending on whim. She is of average height and weight, though is noted for a voluptuous form. Her clothing is always light, but not anything too revealing or noticeable.

Motivations
Goals: She searches for her creators, she has wandered countless years in search of those that made her.
She likes helping people in need, and will protect others from harm.

Fears: She fears there may be a darker purpose to her creation, and fears that she may accidentally hurt others. She also fears that she may never find what she seeks, and may be doomed to search for eternity. She also feara robbing souls of their afterlife.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Vyvia is a Golem. She is made of dirt, and was brought into being by an unknown dark ritual. This ritual and it's details are lost, but whatever it was, it left a scar on the very fabric of creation.

Powers : Magic and Spellcasting. She knows a plethora of spells, each of which are usually elemental or plant based, such as manipulating earth, water, or plants with various spells. She is resistant to physical damage, as her body is made of dirt, so attacking her is just as effective as striking dirt. She can reconstitute herself using whatever dirt is around her, provided that is is dirt, and not mud or ash, or of the like. She also possesses a knowledge of many medieval weapon styles, and can utilize things like swords, bows, spears, and etc. But is not knowledgeable in things like guns, explosives, or vehicles and of the like. Her skill though, seems to stem from magic, rather than any sort of training. She can utilize a molten attack as a last resort, spewing a large amount of molten material from herself. However, doing so usually completely drains her magic reserves, and can even render her temporarily inert until her reserves recharge to acceptable levels. She recharges by absorbing the souls or spiritual energy of the dead around her in a half-mile radius. This is compulsory, and she has no control over it whatsoever. She prefers drawing from deceased animals and such, and is horrified by the prospect of absorbing human souls. (Again, no choice in the matter, but she makes an active effort to avoid areas where humans have died recently. Though, as you can imagine that is a lot harder said than done.) the souls absorbed are not "contained" in her. They are processed and turned into pure magical energy. Literally like coal, ceasing to be what they once were, and cannot be retrieved or reconstituted, effectively robbing them of an afterlife.

Abilities: She can read and write in 127 languages, this is not by magic, but rather her taking the time to pick up and learn them. She also has incredible knowledge in both architecture and construction, and plethora of magical secrets she has gained from reading numerous books.

Equipment: She has a series of journals that she writes in. She also has a steel sword and a titanium pick-axe.

Weaknesses: She cannot speak. She has no vocal cords and cannot utter any sound. (She can see and hear though). She is vulnerable to any anti-magical weaponry or attacks. And while being submerged in water won't cause her any harm, it will slow her down considerably. She is not very physically strong, often using her magic to make up for her lack of strength. If her magic reserves deplete, she will become inert, and effectively is removed from the fight. Explosives, (not counting nuclear or anything near that) can disperse her body and temporarily disorient her, though she will reconstitute. A nuclear strike would outright destroy her, but that would be overkill and there are much more manageable means of dealing with her. Non-physical attacks are better at depleting her magical reserves than physical ones. And for a side note, absorbing human souls traumatizes her. Even if she isn't the one doing the absorbing.

    Background:
      Job: unemployed

Legal Status: She is liscensed for hero work, but also can legally be referred to as an object, despite her sentience.

Backstory: Vyvia is simply the alias given to her by a kindly young man after he learned that she had no name. Vyvia was created by an unknown dark ritual that is said to have left a scar on creation itself. She was made to serve a mysterious group of cultists who delved into a plethora of forbidden magics. They made three golems: One of Dirt, One of Stone, and One of Iron. Each were made to guard their hidden library of magical knowledge. But as the years went by, the One of Iron rusted away, and the One of Stone was eventually destroyed in a bandit raid. The One of Dirt kept it's vigil though, until one day both the library and the cultists all suddenly vanished, leaving the Dirt Golem to wander the earth, eternally searching for them. Despite the dark magics used to create her, she has always been a being of kindness and joy. She received her Hero License after helping stop a bank robbery. She keeps it, though doesn't seem to have any notion of it's importance. Currently, she continues to wander the world, seemingly without aim, and helping those she can along the way.

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Elena Valdez
    Aliases: Gale
    Gender: Female
    Age: 19
    Appearance:
Elena has a slim figure, with almond colored skin, brown eyes, and a mop of kinky, messy hair usually tied up in a sloppy ponytail. She usually wears casual attire, often sporting a jacket, shirt, and leggings.

Motivations
Goals: Avenge death of her father, protect her mother and brother from outside threats
Fears: Losing her family, losing her powers

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Genetic mutation that manifested itself near the start of adolescence.
    Powers :
    • Air Manipulation: Elena is gifted with the ability to shape and manipulate the air around her, which she could use as a shield, an offensive tool, or for other uses, including but not limited to jet propulsion via compressed air pressure to move faster, enhancing her senses of sound and smell, repelling projectiles, and purifying the air around her. (so basically air-bending)
    Abilities:
    • Bilingual: Elena speaks both Spanish and English.
    • Peak Human Agility: Thanks in part to her powers as well as her youth, Elena is quite agile and quick
    Equipment:
    • a staff with a built in glider of sorts that she crafted herself; when the glider is activated, she can use the air around her to propel herself and glide through the air. When the glider isn't activated, the staff makes for an effective melee weapon.
    Weaknesses:
    • Elena is unable to create new air out of thin...well, air, meaning only the air around her can be put to use. This also means she is unable to use her powers in a vacuum. Prolonged use of her powers can leave her depleted. Certain atmospheric conditions like humidity and air pressure can also influence and limit (or enhance, depending on the situation) the effectiveness of her powers. She also cannot control the air inside a person's body.
    • Elena doesn't have much combat experience
    • Durability-wise she is still a normal, fleshy human, so, say, a gunshot to the stomach can and likely will still cause life threatening damage as it would to any other normal human (if she's unable to repel the bullet before it hits her, of course).
    • She tends to let her emotions get the best of her.

Background:
    Job:
    • Part-Time job at some department store
    • Vigilante (of sorts)
Legal Status: Citizen of Cuba by birth, Citizen of the United States
    Backstory:
Before Elena was born, her father, Félix, was a hired mercenary, working for the La Guajira Cartel, a Colombian crime family that worked in the Latin American drug trade. In 1999, while stationed in Cuba, he met Morena, Elena's mother, and he almost immediately fell in love with her. The two would eventually tie the knot in 2002, and on March 3, 2003, Elena was born in Havana, Cuba. Later, in 2005, her little brother, Raul, would be born.

After the birth of Elena, Félix began to fully dedicate himself to raising his new family, and so he quit his job with the cartel, which the did not appreciate, to say the least. Fearing retaliation, he fled to the United States with his family in 2004 after getting in touch with a friend he knew in America, Esteban Toño, who would later become a family friend. Setting up shop in New York City, Félix thought he was out of the cartel's reach.

Unfortunately for him, he thought wrong.

For a few years, all was normal; Raul would be born, Félix and Morena both got new jobs, and they had managed to stay afloat financially. But then, things began to get weird, as around Elena's 11th birthday, her powers began to emerge. At first, she saw them as a burden, but after taking time to get used to them, she began to value her powers, even giving herself a superhero nickname: Gale. Soon after, tragedy struck, as the cartel had finally caught up to Félix. He was able to keep his family out of harm's way, but it came at the cost of his own life. Elena, having been close to her dad, was devastated by the loss, and made a personal vow to avenge her father's death and protect her family.

Over the years that followed, Elena would begin to get more of a grasp on her powers, teaching herself how to use them as well as some rather amatuer combat techniques that incorporated them. Meanwhile, with her father gone, she took a more active role in the family, helping her mother out with chores around the house and keeping Raul out of trouble.

While her father was deeply missed, the cartel hadn't returned (yet...), and for a while, everything seemed normal again. That was, until the San Andreas debacle in 2019 that may as well have completely destroyed the League of Twelve, who Elena looked up to. Shortly after, with the attack on the Capitol Building and the passing of the registries, Elena registered herself as a meta-human in accordance with the new law. Meanwhile, she had graduated from high school, but decided against going to college, getting herself a job, her own apartment, and began living a new life, though still wished to protect her family from afar.

Nowadays, she just lives her life in New York city, waiting for the day her powers need to be put to use...

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
Name: Christine-Marie Andréa Eliane de Ligne
Aliases: Chance - Pronounced differently depending if one speaks French or English.
    Gender: Female.
Age: 32. She was born on September 17th, 1990.
Appearance: Here. She's rather tall at 6'3, but generally slender as well, weighing in at 152 pounds (usually).

Motivations
    Goals:
    • Prevent anti-meta discrimination and better educate the public about metahumans.
    • Set a good example for as many metas and non-metas as possible to inspire further good in the world.
    • Prevent the use and/or abuse of metahuman powers throughout the globe.
    • Promote the (ethical & consenting) study of metahumans to better understand and apply their powers.

    Fears:
    • Discrimination and rejection of who she is based on her powers.
    • In a larger sense, the rejection of metahumans by the general populace and their being defined as "the other".
    • Coulrophobia. She absolutely hates clowns. Despises them. No thanks - don't like them that much.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Exposed to experimental radiation as a fetus in her mother's womb.
Powers : Chance's power is that she has a bunch of powers. Each waking hour of every day, she gets empowered with one of a hundred (recorded) superpowers. If she goes to sleep, or is put to sleep unnaturally, the powers dissipate. When she wakes up, she lacks any powers until the next hour comes. She also has a permanent ability to "levitate". It's not quite flight, as she can't go above six feet in height, but she can hover along the ground if she likes.

Some are useful, some are less so, and some are incredibly useless. Below is the table of powers that she can be bestowed with. It's important to note that some of these powers are more controllable than others. Each power will have a note about how it's used, and if it's passive or active.
      1. X-Ray Vision - Both concentrated emissions and passive "vision" in the more traditional Superman sense. When she gets this power, she can choose to see through any objects that X-Rays could normally pierce alongside the normal radiation that it would deal. By using a concentrated emission of X-Rays, she can irradiate someone in seconds, crippling and likely killing them. This is an active and directed power.
      2. Optic Blasts (Cyclops style) - Bright red, directed energy blasts are emitted from her eyes. These energy blasts are derived from ambient energy such as cosmic rays and solar radiation. These concussive blasts are fired at ridiculously high speeds (500 lbs./Sq.In) and can slice through most metals.
      3. Heat Vision (cook someone from a mile away) - Concentrated and directed or generalised, up to 88 kw.
      4. Adhesive Skin - Can use skin to stick to walls, floors, ceilings, or anything that isn't a dedicated anti-adhesive surface. It takes someone with moderate super-human strength to be able to forcefully decouple her from the wall itself, and when that happens, the skin attached to the wall is pulled off her body. Important to note that this ability is passively active, meaning that she cannot choose what surface to stick to - she just sticks if she isn't careful.
      5. Selective Incorporeality - The ability to make one's body either partially or entirely incorporeal. Using this ability, Chance can phase through walls, roofs, ceilings, or other people akin to a ghost. When incorporeal, her body is translucent and see-through. The incorporeality is chosen, so she can decide when to become corporeal again or not - and the effect is instant.
      6. Invisibility - If she has this power, Chance can decide whether or not to make herself invisible. This ability is partially activated, and can accidentally trigger itself if she is feeling particularly stressed, angry, or embarrassed when she has this power. When invisible, she is nearly impossible to spot using one's normal vision, but things like X-Rays, thermal vision, etc., will still be able to catch her. She can turn it on or off at will - generally - but the power is tied to her emotions, so if her base instinct is to go and hide, she will remain invisible even if she doesn't want to.
      7. Shape-shifting - Chance can take the form of any individual that she has seen before, be it in a picture or in real life. Man or woman, no matter the race. The replication is perfect, down to vocal chords. However, she can be spotted if she is unfamiliar with the mannerisms of the person that she is imitating. There are a few limitations. She cannot change into someone or something significantly larger or smaller than her. For example, she couldn't shape-shift into a giant. Also, if she changes into a meta, she does not inherit their powers. Finally, she can shape-shift multiple times within the hour if she'd like. However, once the hour is up, she reverts to her original form. When shape-shifting multiple times, it is considered physically exhausting for her.
      8. Future Sight - By concentrating incredibly hard, she can enter a meditation-like trance and Chance can see a limited vision of the future. The exact details of the vision can be either very detailed or sketchy depending on how far ahead in the future it is or how distracting her surroundings are. If she is hurt, or even touched at all during this process, which can take up to a few minutes, the sight ends and she can't remember anything about it.
      9. Power Absorption - By concentrating hard on a single target and extending her hand towards them, she can temporarily drain a meta of their power. If a meta is drained of their power this way, she temporarily gains a limited version of it (the details of which can vary from power to power and I think it best to leave the specifics of each time this happens up to OP). She can only target one individual at a time with this power. If she drains a second meta of their power, she loses the powers of the first and the first target's powers are fully restored.
      10. Flight - Unlike her normal levitation, this flight power allows her to truly soar. She can fly up, down, wherever she'd like that a human could feasibly go. When the hour is up, however, she promptly stops flying, even if she's in mid-air.
      11. Size Changing - Pretty standard ideas, size changing at will. Can become as large as 100 feet tall with proportional weight, and as small as an aphid. Other physical traits remain identical, so she remains physiologically a human being, just with proportionally-sized organs. As soon as the hour is up, she reverts shape, no matter where she is. She can control the size growth and shrinking, and only by her own choice or the hour being up can force her to change size.
      12. Regeneration - Limbs, organ, skin, bullet holes - any wound heals much quicker than it would normally. Of course, it still hurts, but it will heal - within the hour. If something is healing when the hour is up, then it stops immediately mid-heal. So in an extreme case, an arm might be half-back. This ability is passive but focused only on herself, she cannot transfer this ability to anyone else or use it to heal anybody else.
      13. Force Field Generation - She can generate, at will with enough concentration, a bright pink force field around her. The field is three meters in diameter, can either prevent or allow people from entering or exiting, but either way it's resistant to any projectiles, ballistic, energy, or otherwise. The field can be brought down under sustained assault, so long as enough damage is dealt to it. When the field takes too much damage, it shatters into a number of hard-light shards that explode outwards. It also causes Chance quite a bit of physical and mental injury when the field is destroyed like this. She can bring another one up, but it takes some concentration. When nearing the end of the hour, the field will begin to fade and flicker, before disappearing entirely right at the hour mark.
      14. Energy Projectile Generation - At the beginning of the hour, her body begins passively absorbing ambient energy and storing it. Once sufficient, electrical crackling will begin to form around her fingertips. Her body acting a little like a battery, she can use the ambient energy as a weapon, creating either bolts or beams that originate from her hands. The beams are sharp and can cut through metal, concrete, or people and are considered quite lethal. Generally, the projectiles are directed, but if her body is too full of ambient energy, she runs the risk of randomly discharging some from her hands. If she uses the power too much within the hour, the ambient energy will be depleted and she can't use it for a few minutes while her body collects more.
      15. Limited teleportation - By closing her eyes and willing herself to do so, she can transport herself near-instantaneously to any place that she can see within a kilometer. The teleportation is reliable, but limited. It has a significant cooldown time of two minutes, meaning she can't simply appear and disappear in order to continuously dodge attacks for example. She also cannot teleport inside a room that has no windows. She has to physically see her exact destination. The teleportation is limited to her, so she cannot bring anyone with her. If she is touching or grappling with someone when she teleports, it will be as if she disappeared and was never there. She cannot begin teleporting a minute before the hour is up - it will not let her.
      16. Electrical Manipulation - She can absorb, route, project, and manipulate electricity. She can drain it from local sources, power things up that don't have it, and shoot it out of her hands in chains of lightning-like structures. The electricity when used in this way can chain from one target to another, so long as the target can be hit by electricity (i.e, isn't grounded, etc). She can also use the energy to make temporary barriers such as walls made of the electricity, power up or overload terminals or electric locks.
      17. Super Strength - Simple, what it says on the tin. Despite her slim figure, she becomes immensely strong, able to lift twenty five tonnes with ease. It comes with a depressed, but not irrelevant, decrease in her nervous system so while she is able to punch walls down or tear a car in half, while it may not hurt as much, it'd still hurt. The pain also becomes more noticeable once the hour is up. As with all of her other powers, once the hour is up, she immediately loses it, so if she is holding something, she would not be able to support it any longer.
      18. Time Slowing - By concentrating incredibly hard, she can slow time around her in a 5-meter circle. Everyone, allies and enemies, are affected by the slowing - except for her. Time doesn't stop, things are still happening, but only at about a third of the speed they normally do. The slowing only continues as long as Chance continues to concentrate on it, using her willpower for more time. She has never been able to continue it for more than a minute, her record being 57 seconds and only at the price of intense mental exhaustion.
      19. Telekinesis - Chance has the ability to manipulate up to 5 tonnes with her mind. She can pick up, move, throw, or otherwise manipulate anything within a 90-meter square from her. She doesn't necessarily have to physically see something - tests have shown that if she sees a video feed of something within range, she can move it, so long as she maintains eye contact with the feed. Any interruption to her concentration means a gradual stop to whatever she was manipulating, so if she's interrupted, she has to work quickly to recover the concentration. As with all of her other powers, it stops immediately once the hour is up.
      20. Telepathy - By selecting a single person, she can close her eyes and concentrate on piercing their consciousness. If successful (unless it's a meta who has psychic powers, she's usually successful), she can read all of their thoughts. She can read all of their conscious thoughts without the person knowing that she's doing so, but if she reads anything beneath what the person's brain would want them to hear, the person feels her inside their head, and becomes aware (and usually hostile) to the probing.
      21. Local atmospheric manipulation (local weather control basically, from rain to blizzards to fog, whatever. X distance, Y intensity)
      22. Luck Manipulation (bullets bounce weird, shit doesn't work as it should, etc, if a truck is about to run you over its engine stalls and stops right in front, etc - not too controlled, centered on meta, allies and enemies are unaffected beyond interacting directly with char)
      23. Illusion creation
      24. Hardlight Manipulation (Photokinesis)
      25. Air Blasts
      26. Stone creation / manipulation (including the ability to turn people into stone?)
      27. Mental Suggestion (not mind control - just a bunch more persuasive)
      28. Power Bestowal (ability to re-roll the D100 so someone else gets any power on the table for 1 hour - no power replaces this, so the char has nothing for the hour. If they die, the power ends for whomever has it. A 100 roll means the die has to be rerolled)
      29. Power detection
      30. Immobility (others can't move, X targets, Y distance, Z time)
      31. Matter Ingestion (eat anything, can projectile spit it out later)
      32. Bone needle/spike projectiles
      33. Replications (copies of original body, mirror style)
      34. Tendril Generation (6 of X length, Y strength)
      35. Acid generation (from hands as blasts like a hose)
      36. Dust generation / manipulation
      37. Fire breath / emission
      38. Enhanced breath
      39. Water generation / manipulation
      40. Aquatic breathing
      41. Enhanced dexterity (not just more dextrous or flexible, but faster as well, barely measurable but technically superhuman)
      42. Hyperawareness / enhanced senses (think Spidey sense)
      43. Enhanced physical form (anything from strength to jumping, just better than the normal person)
      44. Freezing / Ice emission
      45. Psychic penetration / mental manipulation (not just read minds, but penetrate them and fuck with them, cause physical damage - different from telepathy since they cant exchange words, can hurt enemies or help allies)
      46. Psychometry (ability to read residual information off of an item - pick up who has used it, who they are, etc)
      47. Hypnosis (ability to put people to sleep)
      48. Fear inducement
      49. Possession
      50. Animation of inanimate objects
      51. Deoxygenation
      52. Kinetic energy absorption & weaponisation
      53. Magnetic manipulation
      54. Probability manipulation (different from earlier luck power because it's targeted, controlled, and directed - and its not just luck, it's like, increasing the probability of some dude falling into a randomly-spawning giant hole below him from almost 0 to 100%, for example)
      55. Weight manipulation (target X now weighs 3 tonnes, or nothing at all until the char says so)
      56. Mirror creation & manipulation
      57. Vacuum creation & manipulation
      58. Animal command & control
      59. Insect command & control
      60. Combustion inducement (not controlling any fire, just the ability to start them)
      61. Energy nullification (any energy-based attacks)
      62. Portal creation
      63. Self-destruction and reconstitution (large explosion centered around char that then rebuilds after 5 or so mins)
      64. Digital possession (entering into computers and taking them over, reading data, etc)
      65. Crab Monster Form
      66. Elasticity
      67. Form of T-Rex
      68. Power Draw (can mimic 1 power from anyone within X radius)
      69. Intense Allure (seductive power for the funny number)
      70. Pathifery (manipulate reality based off of emotions)
      71. Terrain manipulation
      72. Curse affliction (maybe additional 1d10 table to see what the curse does?)
      73. Item replication (any item seen before can be perfectly reproduced out of thin air)
      74. Body of Smoke (turn into smoke whenever, reconstitute at will)
      75. Skin of Steel (skin becomes steel, but still possible to move)
      76. Absolute immortality (with the caveat that no other powers are attached)
      77. Disintegration (walls, weapons, people if needed)
      78. Super speed
      79. Radiant glow (either the char or someone/thing they touch begins to glow so intensely as to temporarily blind someone if they look directly at it - can turn on/off glow at will)
      80. Energy conversion (make one type of energy another after absorbing it)
      81. Power amplification (can boost capabilities of allies)
      82. Solar energy absorption & manipulation
      83. Lunar energy absorption & manipulation
      84. Hemokinesis
      85. Rubber bones
      86. Bubble generation (out of mouth and hands)
      87. Muted (just can't talk, make verbal noise for an hour)
      88. Sneeze-based invisibility (whenever the char sneezes, every person within 30 feet becomes invisible for an hour)
      89. Can lower IQ at will
      90. Eyes glow so bright it can blind people ONLY when eye contact is made
      91. 50 crabs can be summoned but not controlled
      92. Become blind
      93. Density control
      94. Omnilingualism (only living languages on Earth)
      95. Empathic Connection
      96. Radiation immunity
      97. Goo / Ectoplasm Generation
      98. Form of Toad (becomes a giant fuckin' Toad, the size of an IFV, keeps the intelligence and consciousness of char but can't speak)
      99. Colour Manipulation
      100. Subjective Reality / Mentifery

(Please be specific about things like strength and speed. Also, if there are any conditions to how powers work, list these here)
    Abilities:
    • Chance is a polyglot, and is able to speak a number of different languages fluently. She can speak French, Dutch, English, German, and Walloon. She is also highly interested in studying various languages, especially dead or endangered languages.
    • Chance has an undergraduate degree in architecture and a Masters of Science in architectural engineering, both from the University of Liege.
    • She is highly acrobatic. She has been training with private tutors since she was a child. As such, she is highly dextrous and maneuverable.
    • Chance has been training since her teens for marathons. She gets a great deal of enjoyment out of running, and as such, uses any opportunity possible to take a run. While she never competed professionally or recreationally due to the dangers of her powers, she is a regular and experienced long distance runner and has a lot of stamina.
    • Since she was young, she has been taken on hunting expeditions with her siblings and father. She has received a large amount of training with hunting rifles and also has some wildlife survival knowledge.
    • She has been riding horses since she was four, like all of her other siblings. The family considers it a generational pastime, and she enjoys the sport recreationally.
    • When Chance began fighting crime as a hero nearly a decade ago, she took up Taekwando. At the present, she is a 3rd dan black belt.
    Equipment:
    • A specially-tailored jumpsuit made for her that is worn under her costume. It's skintight and extends across her feet and hands, but not her face or head. it's created from a flexible mesh-type of material that is designed to protect her from any of the powers that she uses or their side effects.
    • A specialised watch grafted onto her jumpsuit. It's resistant to pressure up to 15,000 PSI. The watch has two modes, one linked to a satellite to tell the exact time, and a second synchronised to her power switching to let her know exactly how much time she has left. The watch also indicates what power is available to her based off of a numerical system.
    Weaknesses:
    • The most obvious weakness that she has is the time limit to her powers. The limit doesn't wait for anything and cannot be extended no matter what she does - not even through the use of her powers that may theoretically be able to change or modify the rule. She may lose her power mid-battle.
    • Some of her powers are less-than-useful. Most of them have some sort of limitation as well. If she gets stuck with a bad power for an hour, she's virtually useless, no better than a slightly-better-trained civilian.

Background:
Job: The closest "job" Christine-Marie holds when not fighting crime is socialite. Like a lot of dispossessed European royalty with too much money to spend, most of her (large amount of) disposable income is derived from her father's estate, and thus when she is not acting as a "superhero", she is actively campaigning in wealthy upper-class circles for UNMAO and the advancement of Human-Meta relations.
Legal Status: Legally-speaking, she is a Belgian citizen and a card-carrying member of UNMAO.
Backstory: Born a scion of the de Ligne family, most of her life has been one of comfort and opulence. She was the third and last child of her parents. The de Lignes are descended from an ancient and rather illustrious line of Belgian nobility, and in the present day, most of the members of the family are in the business of entrepreneurship and estate management. Her father, Michel IV de Ligne, is an entrepreneur and business man who uses the family's money for investment and reinvestment to help sustain the family's fortunes. Michel's wife often insisted on accompanying him on potential business investments, and that's how the pair, already expecting their third child, ended up on their way to meet with ambassadors from an American military technology company known as Lance Corp in 1990.

Lance Corp was looking for investors in a new enterprise known as the NEXUS Project. It was an attempt to harness energy from different, invisible or otherwise inaccessible dimensions. Lance Corp gave a demonstration of their NEXUS Project prototype in London to a select group of potential investors, including the de Lignes. The prototype wasn't ready for a public demonstration, however, and it malfunctioned, releasing a pulse of unknown energy upon the crowd. Almost all of teh people present were fine, but the unborn Christine-Marie was unaffected in ways that no one could have predicted.

As Lance Corp dismantled the NEXUS Project due to disinterest, Christine-Marie was born in September of 1990. Since early childhood, Christine-Marie exhibited odd symptoms indicative of her ever-changing powers. Her family endeavoured to give her as normal a life as possible, but spent large sums of money on private doctors that attempted to help her gain better control of her "gifts". But it wasn't until the early 2000's when she finally got the help that she needed. As metas became more and more public, more science and funding was devoted into understanding them and where their powers came from. In her teens, Christine-Marie was finally afforded a good degree of treatment and training.

Shortly following her 18th birthday, she joined an EU-based superhero organisation devoted to preventing crime and studying metahumans. By this point she had fully dedicated her life not just to fighting crime, but raising awareness for metahuman issues as well as attempting to bridge the gap between metas and non-metas. Following the crises of the 2010s and the formation of UNMAO, she was one of the organisation's first recruits.

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Murphy Weller
    Aliases: Crackshot
    Gender: Male
    Age: 29
    Appearance:
    Image
6'5" and 200 pounds, his physique reflects his lifestyle: nearly three decades of scars cover an athlete's build, most notably a small burn on the left side of his jaw.

Motivations
Goals: Become the greatest marksman in the world, end the exploitation of third world countries by corporate and colonial interests.
Fears: Intense fears of failure and powerlessness. Refuses to kill others.

Strengths and Weaknesses
    Source of Power: Lifelong Training
    'Powers':
Crackshot - Murphy Weller is one of the greatest unenhanced marksmen in history. He possesses an uncanny ability to approximate ranges and angles with such precision that he can accurately ricochet bullets off walls, hit targets miles away, and perform other feats that would be nearly impossible for other marksmen.
    Abilities:
Peak Human Marksmanship- Murphy has unparalleled accuracy and precision with firearms utilizing full-powered rifle cartridges. In addition, he can cycle and reload bolt-action firearms with impressive speed.
Gunsmith - You don't become the greatest marksman on earth with your bare hands. Murphy can maintain and repair his equipment, and manufacture his own ammunition and replacement parts.
    Equipment:
Crackshot's Rifle - A one-of-a-kind bolt-action rifle firing a proprietary cartridge. With a monolithic polymer body and a navy blue color scheme, it’s almost more iconic in the public eye than the man wielding it. Typically fitted with a sturdy bipod, quick-detachable scope mount, and five-round magazine, it also accepts a muzzle device to fire grappling hooks with the help of blank ammunition.
.50 CS Cartridges - These custom rifle cartridges are hand-loaded by Murphy himself, and only fit his rifle. The high caliber projectiles offer sufficient internal volume for more sophisticated payloads, such as electroshock rounds, ricochet rounds, tranquilizer rounds, and GPS tracking rounds.
AP - Steel-core ammunition that excels at armor piercing.
Electroshock - Slower than the speed of sound, these rounds can incapacitate unarmored targets for a minute or overload unshielded electronics. Thick clothing may also prevent successful use.
Ricochet - Constructed from a polymer composite with high energy retention, these bullets can be skipped off surfaces multiple times and still hit their target with enough energy to break fingers or leave enemies with serious concussions. A direct hit is enough to break arms or legs.
Tranquilizer - the only silent cartridge in his arsenal, Crackshot's tranquilizers utilize a captive piston system to silently launch a ballistic syringe into a target, sedating them and possibly causing loss of consciousness in targets with lower body mass. Larger targets may require multiple doses, and the inherent imprecision with dosage means that a lethal overdose may occur without proper follow-up supervision of the target.
Tracking - With one of these lodged in a target, Murphy can track their location for 48 hours unless it’s removed.
Blank - these blank rounds are primarily used alongside the muzzle adapter, allowing Murphy to propel a grappling hook and line much farther than possible by hand. In a pinch, they could be used to blind and burn closer threats.

Lifesaver - A low-profile ballistic vest with storage for cable ties, spare magazines and loose cartridges to allow greater flexibility and ammo capacity.
First Aid Kit - A small bag of first aid supplies. It'll stop you from dying, but it’s not likely to put you back on your feet. Also contains necessary supplies to stabilize tranquilized targets and prevent potential overdoses.
Murphy’s Bus - A retired school bus refitted as a mobile base of operations. Sparsely decorated, it contains the amenities for a decent standard of living as well as an armory and workshop to allow Murphy to make modifications to his equipment as well as reload spent cartridges.

    Weaknesses:
Only Human - Murphy Weller has no powers. Without a gun, he’s no more of a threat than any other person.
Target Fixation - When Murphy lines up a shot, he tunes everything else out, making him vulnerable to flanking.
Nonlethal - Despite a deadly arsenal, Murphy does not kill.
Supersonic - An unsuppressed rifle isnt exactly stealthy. The majority of Crackshot's ammunition is supersonic, and can be heard from miles away in the right circumstances.

Background:
    Job: Vigilante
    Legal Status: Sierra Leonean Citizen
Backstory:There's an old urban legend that arose during the Sierra Leone Civil War. After a career loyal to colonial powers, an elite mercenary was betrayed and used as the scapegoat for a brutal massacre to mask the involvement of the British government. He was left for dead by his own comrades. In a twist of fate, the locals took pity on the broken, bleeding man. They nursed him back to health despite his past of cruelty, and so the man pledged his support to the locals, keeping their small town out of the crossfire and repelling other mercenaries with lethal force.
But when the powerful grew tired of their inability to intimidate the small town, they burnt it to the ground. The only survivor was a three year old boy, the son of the nurse who cared for the mercenary. He brought the child into his arms, and hunted down every last mercenary from his old unit. The ghost story of the Bloedjagter persisted for many years, rumors arising of his impossible accuracy, his ability to be in two places at once, and many other extraordinary feats.
But the truth is sometimes even more fantastic than the myth. Born into a war, raised in a vendetta, the nurse's son became something more. He became one of the greatest marksmen in the world. As the legend of the Bloedjagter began to fade, whispers were heard of something new. Splitting from his surrogate father, Murphy came to believe in something more. Redemption. If the mercenary could become a protector, who was he to deny the opportunity for another to change? He cast aside his father's mask, and vowed to never kill again.Travelling the continent, he refined his skills further, fighting colonial powers and warlords, and protecting those who could not protect themselves.

Before I accept, I require a note stating that she is unable to control air inside of someone. As that would be a broken ability balance wise.

Accepted.
Though, please also don't suffocate enemies by creating a bubble without air around their heads.

Yeah no, don't do that. I dunno what En was thinking.

3-5 should be fine tbh.

I'm sorry about that. We have a rule ( I think, I'm fairly sure of it at least ) on making old characters have backstories proportional to their oldness. And I personally use that "2 paragraphs + 1 every 50 years" system. Just do what Anowa said about 4 to 5 paragraphs.

okay, that's definitely a lot less work. ^^

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Pearl
    Aliases: Ashen Ghost
    Gender: Female
    Age: 18
    Appearance:
At 6 foot 5, She's a lanky figure with greyish-black skin who usually wears an old green hoodie and jeans. She has short red hair.

Motivations
Goals: Pearl just wants to make sure that nobody gets hurt by villains.
Fears: She's afraid of cheese. why? nobody knows.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Expirement gone wrong
Powers : Teleportation: Pearl can teleport to any location within 15 miles of her position. However, this only works for her.
She can't teleport inside of people. At all. Or inside of a solid object (For example, she can't teleport into a giant cube of concrete if there is not enough space for her to fit.)
. Pinpoint targeting: If someone maintains eye contact with her for over five seconds, then she knows where they are at all times, but only for an hour. She can only use this ability one person at a time, though.
Abilities: She has amazing accuracy, and she can go really fast. It's not superhuman speed, but it's still enough to outrun a normal person.
    Equipment: None.
Weaknesses: Pearl can only teleport herself and any non-living entities with her. she has bad communication skills too.
    [/list

    Background:
Job: She's still in college, and works as a part-time waiter.
Legal Status: Citizen of the US
Backstory: Pearl led a normal life and studied hard to get into college. She made friends and had a happy life. But that changed when she was 18 and her scholarship ran dry.

Pearl was between a rock and a lot of debt, so she signed up for testing experimental cures. However, she received two different shots/doses of cure and blacked out. She woke up in the hospital and called her best friend to pick her up.

After her friend got there and drove her home- At least, that's what pearl wished had happened. in reality, they drove straight into a battle. They were used as hostages, and that's when pearl's powers kicked in and she teleported to safety. However, The villain was so surprised that she escaped that he killed her best friend. after the funeral and everything else, she began training herself.

she currently lives in a college dorm by herself.

Finally, here they are.

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Ayline Mae
    Aliases: Cryoconite
    Gender: Female
    Age: 22
    Appearance:

    Baseline:
    Height: 6'3''
    Weight: 200 Pounds
    Image

Motivations
Goals: Heroically advance her values, be what she sees as the "ideal woman"

Fears: See the world fall further away from that which she sees as just and good.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Touched a magical nordic artifact given to her dad as a souvenir

    Powers :

Ice constructs: Can turn what she touches, including air, into Ice constructs, including having properties beyond what ice is normally capable of, for example, she can turn the air around her into an Ice longbow, rifle, grenades etc. All of which turn the area of effect of a given weapon to ice.

Portal Manipulation: Can create two connected portals of varying shapes with an "area" of up to 80 m^2 from one destination in sight to another, or up to 2 m^2 if 250 meters away if not in sight.

Cryotemporalstasis: Every 10 minutes is able to speed up her perception of time fast enough that time appears to be close to stationary to her for 10 seconds in her perception, during this time she thinks and moves as she would in normal time. Includes a general ice sense that lets her detect hostile intent directed at her at a distance of 10 meters.

Ma(i)de(n) of Ice: Is able to heal herself and others by converting ice into biological material. For others this is mostly healing cuts, bruises and gashes. For herself, her entire body, which passively heals entirely over the course of the day and can heal more quickly with focus. Can also make herself bigger and proportionally stronger/slower and vice versa. Additional ability to manipulate her biology that she can make use of with training.

Magically Activated Metahuman Physique: The magical energy that runs through her body activated long dormant metahuman genes in her ancestry, as a whole her body is somewhat better than peak human.

    Abilities:

Prodigious Archery: An extremely talent archer, while her magic certainly helps, she as extraordinarily talented even without using it.

Drama kid: Exceptionally good actor, capable of seemingly replacing her mannerisms, accent and personality at will, slowing and speeding up bodily functions to help

Excellent street fighter: Cryo's skillfulness in her informal style of 'martial arts' is roughly equivalent to that of an elite formal martial artist, but considerably more dirty and underhanded.

Civil Engineer: Knows the strengths and weak points of a variety of buildings and infrastructure, which can be pretty useful in an urban battleground.

    Equipment:

Ice Clothing: While she never depends completely completely on Ice to clothe herself, she often uses it to add variety and give herself additional armor. Notably, she can give them a variety of textures and colors, though will act like normal Ice when out of range of her powers.

Rich: Not really a power or an ability, but certainly an asset. Cryo has access to a variety of tools and services on account of being wealthy.

    Weaknesses:

It's Ice: Any ice not immediately around her melts as ice does.

Not (N)ice in here: Her powers are proportional to average humidity and temperature, the lower the humidity or higher the temperature, the weaker her powers.

Background:

Job: Co-Owner and Agent of COWL Group.

Legal Status: Natural Born US Citizen,

    Backstory:

She was born to a very pacifist, very wealthy, very philanthropic family, to a Japanese father and Filipina mother in Manhattan. Her parents, wanting their bright but priviliged daughter to grow up understanding what it meant to be around less well off people, had her Her assertive and rebellious natue combined with her parents relatively permissive nature would see her enrolled in public school instead of private school. There, she was somewhat of a menace, despite her decent grades, she'd frequently find herself getting into fights 'on behalf' of other students, not particularly caring if they wanted her to or not. During the summer before she headed of to high school after sneaking into her fathers study, she came across an old nordic artifact that her dad kept on his desk as a reminder of a past successful business deal.

This time, however it was different than the times she had previous see it, it emitted a feint blue aura that grew stronger as se got closer to it, along with it feeling colder as she reached near it. Feeling as though it beckoned to her, she touched and the aura disappeared and the temperature returned to normal. By the next she'd realize that the artifact had given her magical powers, though she didn't know their full extent. Starting next school year, she'd be at the EPOCH Academy in Maine. There, she'd meet and end up becoming friends with the other three students that would end up forming the COWL Group after graduating university.

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Amalure Davis
    Aliases: Ophiuchia
    Gender: Female
    Age: 22
    Appearance:

    Height: 6'8''
    Weight: 255 Pounds

    "Red, White and Blue" Variant:
    Image

    "Gauntlet" Variant:
    Image

Motivations
Goals: Ophiuchia sees herself as, and projects an image of being the embodiment of the most courageous parts of the American progressive tradition. She has a some worry about meta-humans, as she sees them as an inherent threat to an egalitarian society that must be regulated. Her view is that, ultimately, all meta humans ought to be under strict, direct democratic accountability, but is perfectly fine with acting outside such accountability until that is the norm. Privately, she has individual political ambitions, namely, one day becoming the first meta-human President.

Fears: She fears a world in which she has failed to keep meta-humans from establishing fiefdoms from which they rule the rest of humanity either through personal rule or on behalf of corporations, though this largely stems from a fear of her being seen as having failed.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Alien psyche and brain in a metahuman body crafted by an Alien A.I.

    Powers:

Genetically crafted Metahuman Physiology:Can lift up to 30 tons with exhaustion, has durability, speed, dexterity, etc. Roughly 10 that of a peak human.

Flight: Through exotic autokinesis means made possible by her alien brain, is capable of speeds of up to Mach .75

Laser Vision: Extreme bioilluminance and lensing in her eyes give her the ability to burn through flesh and bone.

    Abilities:

Excellent Swordswoman: Better than anyone except those most elite at developing their craft with swords, is technically gifted but as a consequence of her age lacks the real world experience of a master.

Excellent Martial Artist: Likewise better than anyone except those most elite, has a tendency to use her durability and strength as a shortcut.

Fast and Detailed Learner: Can think 10 times faster than peak non-meta human pace, alongside having eidetic memory.

General Competence: Generally finds herself in the 55th percentile minimum of competence in more or less any task as a consequence of her ability to learn quickly aided by Aethelind

Systems Engineer: Educated as system engineer in university, she is some what of a 'jack of all trades, master of none, when it comes the question of management and engineering.

    Equipment:

Alien A.I. Nanite Construct, generator and battery. “Aethelind”:

Aethelind’s default form is a sword, but it is a nanite construct of rearranging itself into different forms both by reorganizing its existing mass and converting new mass. This includes creating secondary equipment that it remotely controls.

A secondary form that replaces the primary sword configuration is a Gauntlet Mode. Instead of forming into a sword, Aethelind instead creates an exoskeleton around Ophiuchia, consisting of a helmet, set of gauntlets, boots and back thrusters, tied together by an airtight suit that exists mostly for maintaining a stable internal environment, but does not provide in of itself much in terms of protection against weapons.

In either form, Aethelind's nanites create a metamaterial shell to endure it's peak energy output.

Aethelnd enhances/augments Ophiuchia's additional powers such as:

Power Doubling: Makes her inherent powers roughly twice as powerful.

Variable Forcefield (Defense): Creates an invisible until contact forcefield that in passive mode is with 10 times Ophiuchia’s own physical durability. Capable of changing shape with her movements and being adjusted to meet various threats and therefore proportionally increase durability. The forcefield’s reconfiguration speed is a little faster than her own quickness, allowing it to follow her movements.

Variable Forcefield (Offense): The forcefield’s variability also serves as an offensive weapon, it can stretch out into prongs to impact with objects and harden/’spike” itself around her fists, feet, etc.

Variable Forcefield (Detection): The forcefield can act as a secondary means of detection, projecting out a weak field that on impact with any object feels creates a light, harmless tingling sensation that gives off purple “sparks” and alerts the ARAS. The further out such a field is projected, the more it takes out of the shield.

Augmented Reality Awareness System (ARAS): Ophiuchia wears a set of contacts that gives her "x-ray" vision and a HUD that can provide diagnostic information about her weapon, physical condition and surroundings. Operates additional sensors on her suits to guide forcefield adjustment.

Simple Brain-to-Machine Interface: While she can not read Ophiuchia’s thoughts, Aethelind can receive orders through brain signals, like if one were interacting with a mental touch screen, though far faster. Aethelind can also send signals to Ophiuchia’s brain, in the form of words, but not images or abstract concepts.

Highly Competent A.I.: Capable of higher level planning and communicating in all human languages. Deft at social manipulation, particularly through means of digital media.

Resilient Alien A.I.: While by no means invincible, Aethelind is very resilient to attempts to copoted into any run away scenario, being an alien A.I. designed with long term stability in mind. Additionally, in the case of “dying” Aethelind has copies of part of itself stored across the internet, even in places only infrequently connected to the internet. These parts can automatically resemble themselves, but on account of being limited by upload speeds, piecing back together such a massive A.I. would take times.

Basic Environmental Regulation: Keeps Ophiuchia in ideal environmental conditions within her forcefield, changing the environment within the forcefield requires penetrating/breaking the forcefield.

    Weaknesses:

Silver Vulnerability: As a consequence of Aethelind's genetic harvesting to craft Ophiuchia, she has inherited a nasty silver vulnerability. When attacked with a silver coated/made weapon, Ophiuchia’s durability on impact to her body by said weapon is decreased to that of a peak non-meta human.

Blocking Compatibility: In passive mode, Aethelind’s forcefield field can only block high velocity attacks and energy weapons, with blunt force being most effective, provided it does not enter the range of ‘high velocity’.

Forcefield Stress: Hostile contact, physically or through energy, on the forcefield creates a purple colouration that emanates from the source of the impact, blocking visible light and longer frequencies. Each impact of sufficient length lowers the strength of the shield comparable to the length of contact and the area that it occurs over, with the shield compensating by shifting density and, therefore also lowering the minimum requirement to penetrate it. Shield requires 10 seconds to fully regenerate, with partial regeneration occurring proportionally over said 10 seconds.

Transmutation Limitations: Aethelind can transmute any matter like a high tech alien 3d printer, but has no special technology to completely sidestep the laws of thermodynamics, it can build and lose mass, but the resulting heat output from doing so ensures the pace it can occur at is limited, ruling out drastic battlefield matter transformations.

Frozen Field (Gauntlet mode): While Gauntlet mode increases her physical powers and therefore the strength of the forcefield, the ability of the forcefield to be projected away from Ophiuchia is lost everywhere except around the gauntlets, boots, back “thrusters” and Helmet, with reconfiguration otherwise limited to reassigning shield density to image impacts.

Losing Control: The longer Ophiuchia spends around the limits of her physiology, the weaker her inhibitions get, which has the nasty side effect of making her embrace her penchant for viciousness and sadism at the expense of larger goals.

Shield Limitations: Ophiuchia's maximum shield capacity is accounted for with the use of Ophi's own capacity for flight, meaning that it's only at peak capacity when not used for flight or hovering and is therefore proportionally weaker when said abilities are in use.

Background:

Job:Co-Owner and Agent of COWL Group

    Legal Status: US Citizen

Backstory: Ophiuchia was the codename given to her when found in a californian mountain cave in a small nursery built by Aethelind. She is an alien/human hybrid, birthed after Aethelind fell from space in an east California's mountain range and concealed her through her gestation.. Spotted first by authorities when it entered the atmosphere, they could not track it down until locals made complaints about flashes of light coming from the mountains. Locals apparently investigated, but Aethelind concealed them both until the US military got involved. She spent her early years in area 51 raised jointly by Uncle Sam and Aethelind. Luckily she wasn't raised alone, having a sister-like relationship with the younger Lotus. Despite the fact that they'd often be pitted against each other in testing and training, they managed to maintain a close relationship. Close enough that when Aethelind was able to reach an agreement to get Ophiuchia to finish her high school age years at EPOCH's Academy (where she took the legal name Amalure Davis) Lotus would end up coming with her, something that was made easier by Lotus's exceptional intelligence, which measured up well compared to Ophiuchia's powerful, though largely immature alien mind. There, they'd end up meeting the other two students that would end up coming together to from the COWL group after university.

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Catherine Rutherford
    Aliases: Werecat
    Gender: Female
    Age: 22
    Appearance:

    Height: 6'6"
    Weight: 240 Pounds
    Image

Motivations
Goals: Stand against oppression of metahumans.
Fears: The worsening oppression of meta-kind and their enslavement to humans

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Born with meta mutation that gives her physiological traits of a Scottish wildcat and an interaction with EldSök's Ödetsverktyg at Markiven Advanced Research Facility.

    Powers :

Higgs Field Manipulation: Ability to manipulate the Higgs Mechanism within a 5 meter radius. She can edit how particles around her interact with their environment, as making them act as if they have a larger or smaller mass, since she isn't creating or destroying mass it's self, she can turn mass-related interactions off and on as she sees's fit.

This gives her the ability to accomplish feats such as:

    - Prop up against ceilings and walls.

    - Manipulate air particles, allowing her to make invisible walls and steps.

    - Increasing the mass of her fist as she strikes downward, enough to break the metamaterials used in power armor, scaling with the rest of her strikes.

    - Simulate telekinetic power through manipulating the mass of particles interacting with other particles.

    - Generate hard bubble of increased mass every 3 minutes that expands from around her body out to 5 meters and lasts 5 seconds, with her deciding the rate of expansion and if it'll break through or go around walls, floors, ceilings, etc.

Scottish Wildcat Physiology: Her mother's pregnancy complications saw her making use of experimental treatment, making Catherine share traits with Scottish wildcats. This includes a heightened sense of vision, touch, hearing, smell and dexterity, the more feline that she becomes, though her baseline is already beyond peak human. Additionally the experimental stem cell treatment that allows Catherine's body to morph as she becomes more feline, left Catherine with the ability regenerate from injuries, up to and including lost limbs, with her losing weight in this rest of her body proportional to that which was lost.

    Abilities:

Cybersecurity Expert: Extraordinarily talented at both securing and hacking into computers and computer networks.

Gymnastic Martial Artist: Gave up mounting and flipping over beams for mounting and flioping over human beings. A gymnast until around 10, she adopted the discipline she learned to a variety of martial arts, specializing in muay thai.

Expert Climbing and Parkour: with or without equipment, she is a very good climber, making use of both her physiology and higgs manipulation powers to do so.

    Equipment:

Power Armour: Enhances her abilities, endurance, along with generic recon power armor abilities. Keeps her suspended in her synthesis personality through careful injection of suppressants, however it also allows her to freely become more or less feline. Likewise the suit expands and contracts with physical changes such shifts bring. Suit comes with a high capacity battery that Catherine is capable of recharging with a generator of her own design that makes use of her Higgs Field manipulation.

    Weaknesses:

Sectioned Memory: Since using the Ödetsverkty, Catherine has essentially had a split personality, one generally more mildly mannered and timid, the other assertive and leans into her feline tendencies. Both often hide information from each other

Organic limits: Can not manipulate any particles that are part of a living organism, except for her own body.

Mind (and limb) over matter: In theory, her potential matter manipulation is far beyond what she exercises, In practice, she has mental limits and needs guides to use her powers. In order to start manipulating the matter in a region, she needs to point a limb toward it, once she's done that, she can continue doing so as long as she has a limb in that direction, OR she can see it. But the moment that her sight and limbs turn elsewhere, there's an increasing chance that the region resets to previous values. Only exceptions are the particles within an area about the radius of her kicking leg's reach can be manipulated indefinitely without line of sight or direction by limbs and her hard bubble ability.

Background:
Job: Co-Owner and Agent of COWL Group

Legal Status: Natural Born US Citizen, Dual British Citizenship

Backstory: Catherine's parents met each other in the late 90s while her mother, a first generation American-Jamacian decent, was in Scotland for an international gymnastics competition. Unfortunately, she suffered an injury that would end her dream of competing in the Olympics, so she settled down with Catherine's father. Catherine's mother had some complications during her pregnancy, leading to the use of experimental treatments. They were informed that one consequence of this is that their daughter would be born with feline traits that would increase in prominence as she aged, and as a result they had to sign on to moving near to Eldsok's planned community for metahumans in Markiven, Sweden. There she would spend her she would grow up and go to school, before, leading her to be fluent in both English and Swedish. Before Catherine entered High school Eldsok offered an incentive for her spend 4 years in Maine at EPOCH's Academy, where she would end up meeting the other 3 students that would come together to form the COWL group.

However before that would happen, Catherine would end up having a bit of a falling out with Ophiuchia, which would be part of the reason she'd return to Sweden to study cybersecurity and computer engineering. There she would also end up working part time with Eldsok's Sagodjur private security firm. As part of her payment for a time there, she would get to keep the power armor she got to use, along with an opportunity to test the Ödetsverkty. Afterward, she would return to the US and go into the 'hero business' with her old friends

    Weight: 195 Pounds
    Image

Motivations
Goals: Make use of her power to save lives and help people with the utmost respect for due process.
Fears: Becoming jaded and selfish like her mother.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Source of Power: Clone Genetically modified with Moth-like traits.

    Powers :

    • Superhuman mental and physical dexterity: A genetic inheritance from her mother, while not the best, she is well above peak human.
    • Insectiod Strength: Capable of lifting 10 times body weight.
    • Winged Flight: Capable of winged flight at a top speed of approximately ~260 Km/h
    • Sonic Blasts: Capable of putting out blasts of sonic waves across the spectrum of audio frequencies.
    • Camouflage: Able to change colors and mask her scent to match her environment.
    • Adhesion: Able to adhere to an object or person on touch if she so chooses.
    • "Mothsilk" Manipulation: Produces and controls a bulletproof putty-like 'silk' material. Mothsilk is connected to a variety of powers:
      • Can Sonokinetically draw in matter from a 3 meter radius and weighing up to 5 Kilograms individually to convert to Mothsilk
      • Can create an array of up to dozen "petals" of Mothsilk that she can sonokinetically levitate and launch at the speed of sound.
the "petals" can be put into a variety of shapes, including ropes for restraining and spikes for impaling.
      • Cocoon abilities: Can form an spherical cocoon around herself out of Mothsilk, her 'cocoon' form.
        • Speed Burst: Able to quickly accelerate to and travel at a maximum speed of 300 km/h in any direction.
        • Permeation: Able to temporarily turn herself into a liquid that can permeate some materials and allow her to come through the other side.
        • Rolling Adhesion: Able to adhere to and roll along surfaces at any angle.
        • Rolling Ball: Quickly accelerate and roll at a maximum speed of 75 km/h
        • Ruthless Roll: Anything lighter than her that she bumps into has no impact on her momentum.
        • Bulletproof: Small arms rounds with the exception of anti-material rounds do no penetrate her cocoon.
        • Regenerates from wounds while in cocoon (Mothsilk on her body has a more generic 'biomass' characteristic than when it is away from her body)

      Abilities:

      • Natural Leader: Ophichia's A.I. Aethelind suggested that despite being the youngest of the four, that Lotus should lead the COWL Group in the field, due to her strong ethics and cool headedness under pressure.
      • Mechanical Engineer: Highly competent engineer, is also capable of fixing and jerry-rig a variety of weapons and tools by using material around her and her powers.
      • Multilingual: In addition to English, she speaks Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and French fluently. Also Knows American Sign Language.
      • Power integrative Martial Artist: Would only be a little better than average were it not for her ability to incorporate her powers into her style, but her creativity with her powers makes her a lot more dangerous than she otherwise would be.
      • A Good Shot: Not quite a specialist but is a well above average markswoman with a rifle.

      Weaknesses:

      • Dazzled by Light: Bright lights can temporarily scramble her ability to navigate, forcing her to either stop moving or simply move linearly towards or away from the light source.
      • Sound Suppression: Consistent, high pitched sounds can temporarily, but severely weaken her sonokinetic abilities and also her capacity to navigate when in a cocoon form.
      • Flammability of Mothsilk: Starts out in a putty-like form that drys out rather quickly, at which point it becomes as flammable as silk would normally be.
      • Adhesion Weakness: Her ability to adhere to surfaces is not absolute, she finds it harder to adhere to a surface the colder it is. Additionally, sufficiently strong individuals can rip the adhering parts of her skin off by pulling against her grip while simultaneously pushing her off.
      • Gathering Mass: as extensive as her abilities are, the creation and destruction of matter are not one of them. if she is to use her Mothsilk, both as a tool and means to change form, she must convert another matter to do so.

    Background:
Job: Co-Owner and Agent of the COWL Group
      Legal Status: U.S. Citizen
Backstory: Lotus was born in Area 51 Nevada from Nuralain Leite, an elite Brazilian/Lebanese metahuman bounty hunter, as part of a deal for her freedom after being caught by U.S. Government during a job that put her at odds with the interests of the United States. Soraya is a genetically modified clone of her mother, in addition to having her mother's genes, she also had a variety of new mutations brought about by genetic modification intended to give her additional insectoid powers. She was 'raised' in a program that operated in parallel to the one in which was responsible for Ophiuchia, looking up to Ophiuchia like a big sister. Lotus had serious health issues in early childhood and after extensive pleading by Ophiuchia to Aethelind, the A.I. agreed to aid Lotus. Aethelind would later tell Lotus that she would have helped her anyway due both to her agreement with the U.S. government and her belief that she was a 'net positive' influence on Ophiuchia. When she arrived at EPOCH's academy alongside Ophiuchia she took the legal name Soraya Leite. There they befriend the other two students who would go on to form the COWL Group. Lotus lives with a constant concern that as a result of either her genetics or the potentially corrupting influence of her powers could lead her to excuse herself into becoming killing machine, as while she avoids more macabre uses of her powers, she is well aware of how terrifying she could be were she to lose her inhibitions to brutality.

inside? yes. sorry, I should specify that. She can teleport inside of someone, but according to the laws of physics and displacement, if something teleports inside another thing, they will both implode, so she doesn't do that.

She can teleport into the air if she wants (as long as she's not 15 miles below ground), including above someone. she doesn't weigh much, though, only 100 pounds- a little less than average, so it doesn't do much.

Yeah, I know they would implode. But still, it has the potential of being a one-hit kill suicide in this case I guess. I'd need that you include a line stating teleporting inside of someone as being impossible for her.

Gods Among Us Character Application

Character Description
    Name: Ayline Mae
    Aliases: Cryoconite
    Gender: Female
    Age: 22
    Appearance:

    Baseline:
    Height: 6'3''
    Weight: 200 Pounds

    "Gauntlet" Variant:

Afterward, she would return to the US and go into the 'hero business' with her old friends

the "petals" can be put into a variety of shapes, including ropes for restraining and spikes for impaling.
