Applesauce (NS Endorsement Tool)

Postby Esfalsa » Thu Apr 14, 2022 3:25 pm

Applesauce

A simple endorsement tool for NationStates that provides a single button to endorse multiple nations, one at a time, from a single tab.
Released under AGPL-3.0.

Report an Issue | Request a Feature | Download Current Version | View GitHub Repository

Installation
Applesauce is currently developed only for Google Chrome. Installation instructions are available at the GitHub repository.

Features
Applesauce accepts a list of nations to endorse, and allows you to endorse those nations easily, one at a time, with a single endorse button. You can provide a full list, a nation to cross on, or a region to cross in.

You can also load nations with URL parameters. This is useful to create a link you can bookmark if there is a nation or region you cross in often, or if you and your organization all use Applesauce and wish to send Applesauce links directly. To learn more about these parameters, view the README on GitHub.

License
Applesauce is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0.

Disclaimer
While Applesauce is designed and intended to comply with all NationStates scripting rules, players are ultimately also responsible for ensuring the tools that they use are legal. All Applesauce code is fully open-source and free for anyone to look through, and users are strongly encouraged to do so before using this tool. For convenience, a summary of how the tool is intended to work is available on the README.

Any bugs, feature requests, or other comments/suggestions are always welcome and encouraged, and can be made either in this forum thread or with a GitHub issue.

The app's name made me wheeze.
Ek Sê!, A Nation on Eastern Altropia, basically an Alternate Universe France.
NS Stats executed by M67 Rifle.
Le temps de Philippeaux: OrbOb satellite captures S.S Jiangxiao moored on pirate-controlled Nasrah coast. | Black Coast government fully transitions into military dictatorship virtually overnight. | 5.7 magnitude earthquake rocks western Norteagua and Cortina. | Arpasian ambassador to Sufistan disappears after going inside People's Council building.
Since those people have anime girls and whatnot on their flags, I decide to use him in my flag, and also, this is not Henry on my flag, it's Konrad and a marine.

Likes: Quailty Posts, F7, GE&T, Henry Stickmin, S-61R, UH-60.
Dislikes: Summies, Adbots, Slaver Nations, One-liners.

After taking a brief non-exhaustive look, Applesauce will likely have to improve its identification with the new rules, and might have to consider its localid-handling under the current ruleset as well.

This should probably also be available on Firefox and other larger websites - not everyone here on NationStates uses Google Chrome after all (sure the majority do but there is a minority that uses Firefox and the like)

This contradicts your response here that generating links to NS does not count as a “tool-crafted response”: viewtopic.php?p=40115917#p40115917

Applesauce crafts requests, though; see logic.js in the source code.

The localid handling and script identification mechanisms have been improved. With that said, please don't ignore the message that a new Applesauce version is available. Installation instructions are linked in the message and are also available here.
