The World Handball Club Championship (WCHC) is the international club handball's championship tournament, intended to pit the best clubs against each other. After the initial editions of success in the its first eleven editions, the domestic handball scene has seen long years of international absence. Quebec and Shingoryeo, after discussions made with several nations over the previous half-year, have decided to revive the domestic competitions in handball, where the revived World Club Handball Championships (WCHC) were introduced under a new format. Barring the dissolution of the nation and its handball governing body, the WCHC Trophy will be based in Quebec City, Quebec and Shingoryeo.

ENTRY SUBMISSION RULES

As with past submissions, each nation will be allocated four entries to the WCHC under the domestic league system, provided they have qualified under sporting merit. One puppet per user will be allowed, after being declared by the master nation. Multiassociational leagues will be allocated up to eight entries, with a single nation allowed up to five entries.

The champion of the World Club Handball Championship (WCHC) will be given an automatic qualification slot for the next cycle's WCHC. Should they fail to qualify, extra spot will be awarded to them.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

At this point in time, I am still figuring out how much demand we could possibly generate from domestic handball, so figuring out an exact format can be trickier than expected. With this in mind, I will suggest following formats:

If 24 or less (16~24) teams are entered, there will be a 16-team group stage. There will be qualification tournaments or play-offs for the teams to make the group stage. After the final 16 teams are determined, they will be divided into 4 groups of 4 teams, where they will play on a home-and-away group stage. Top 2 teams on each group will then qualify for the Quarterfinals and onward.
If 32 or less (25-32) teams are entered, there will be a 24-team group stage. There will be qualification tournaments or play-offs for the teams to make the group stage. After the final 24 teams are determined, they will be divided into 4 groups of 6 teams, where they will play on a home-and-away group stage. 4 highest finishing teams on each group will then qualify for the Last 16 and onward.
If 32 or more (32+) teams are entered, there will be a 32-team group stage. There will be qualification tournaments or play-offs for the teams to make the group stage. After the final 32 teams are determined, they will be divided into 8 groups of 4 teams, where they will play on a home-and-away group stage. Top 2 teams on each group will then qualify for the Last 16 and onward.

The playoffs, beginning from Last 16 or Quarterfinals, will be single elimination. In the round of 16 and the quarterfinals, the teams will play a home-and away series, while the Final Four will be played on single-match basis under a neutral venue.

Final Four Bids from a participating nation will be considered for the World Club Handball Championships. It is strongly recommended that the bids use the following form underneath:

A site bid should include the arena name, the location, seating capacity, and a short description. Pictures are recommended but not a must. All bids will be considered, with the most qualitative bid being selected for the final four, though any site bid that does not meet the qualitative standard will be rejected.

If there is no bid that's considered suitable for the final four, the default site for the WCHC Final Four will be Silver Box, Montreal, Quebec and Shingoryeo.

Ligue-Boreale's opening up, the WCHC's return a good sign for many things to come

QUEBEC CITY, CAPITALE-NATIONALE - Today, ahead of the Quebec-Gatchingerrak Union qualification match for the Handball World Cup 24, to be held in Quebec and Sylestone, Joanna Wex, president of the Quebecois Handball Federation (QHF) and the World Club Handball Championships (WCHC) chair, officially announced the opening of the Ligue-Boreale to foreign imports.

The announcement, year in making, was viewed by many handball watchers across the Multiverse as the latest of the wave of news that spurred across the sporting Multiverse over the past year, after men's and women's handball tournament of the 2050 Summer Olympics held in Bunjil, Electrum. In mostly confirming the rumours, Wex announced that the Ligue-Boreale sides will be allowed to include three import players, by definition those without a Quebecois passport or residency (latter requiring six calendar years or number of seasons equalling to six calendar years), in 19-team squads. While those of Quebecois Commonwealth have played in the Ligue-Boreale (and its predecessor, Handball Bundesliga) for decades, this will indeed be the first time that foreign handballers neither of Quebecois nor Commonwealth origins be allowed to play in Quebec and Shingoryeo.

'I personally find this a historic moment, especially as we return to globalisation in multiverse handball,' said Wex, in an interview with worldofhandball.multi. 'And perhaps historic correction as well. On the first two decades of this 21st century, many handball leagues across the multiverse were open, as the likes of Polarian Elitserien, the Cotdelapomais Superliga and not to mention the Cyborg Holland Varsity League actively welcomed talents across the world. And while the WCHC's absence over past 30 years, combined with financial and political troubles of many active participants, have limited the international contact, I feel that we are going to see the good times come back.'

When questioned about whether this serves as a response to the competitive question over challenges faced by other leagues opening up, and the signing of three Quebecois players to Bollonich, she decided to go around with the comment. 'It is a good thing that we see more players going abroad and vice versa, and we share that sentiment with those of the national team program as well,' said Wex. 'Sure, quite a few of our national teamers have already or will be heading to the Superliga or Bollonich, but from what's being said and announced by individual teams, Ligue-Boreale sides are also signing those from last two men's olympic gold medalists in Graintfjall and Bollonich. So no, this doesn't change much about how competitive Ligue-Boreale or the national teams are.'

It is a tough, but understandable position taken by Wex, the 2020 Centralis and Nassau Bay games gold medalist. While the preferred direction may depend, it is universally agreed that internationalisation of the leagues, both home and abroad, is in the best interest of handball. If anything, it has for decades shared the same problems as its wintry equivalent, volleyball, in that both are looking to become more internationally active after decades of absence on domestic scale. While there have been attempts in bringing back both sports on domestic circuits, such as past opening up of Mytanar and Savojar handball leagues to foreign players, the lack of international initiatives since, most strongly found in 3 decades of no WCHC, and the lack of the VCL in 20 years, have led into a particular lethargy on the scene for both domestic sports.

That has certainly brought a particular challenge to the home context as well considering the rise of basketball as the number one indoor sport in Quebec and Shingoryeo, with cheaper cost to play and the international successes, not to mention decades of basketball stars being icons of their own. It was around the declining years of Wex's own career with the Grim Reapers and Montreal Koreana HC, that Riley Jeon-Keane and Allison Dubois had stepped up as not just basketball icons, but national symbols too. While volleyball's continued to maintain international successes even with domestic absences, and the QOVO's rivalry with Gatchingerrak Superliga, hockey and handball have seen drops in television and participation, and overall increase in apathy due to poor international results marked by disputes between players' associations, leagues and their respective associations.

But while handball has struggled, it is possible for it to quickly regain the numbers of old. The multi-tier aspect of the professional handball circuit in Quebec and Shingoryeo, where 12 teams play in the Ligue-Boreale and 14 to the Ligue-Nordique, mean that there is generally a wider outreach in the sport. This, with men and women playing in the same league, makes it easier to handle developmental phases for the national teams as well. The league's competitiveness problem, while a constant peeve, isn't as bad as you'd think - with CSKA Quebec and Montreal Koreana, similar to their basketball divisions, not being as dominant in handball as they'd often think. Quebecois Handball Federation, unlike the past precedences in Savojarna and Mytanija a decade ago, are concerned less about over-commercialisation of the sport, mostly because the Quebecois state's had the pro (and before that semi-pro) league running for decades and people still remembered the days of active international circuit for those leagues. So the small opening of windows, while seeming huge, looks fairly small.

Now, whether the internationalisation movement can hold into something consistent for both WCHC, Ligue-Boreale and the other leagues, remain to be seen. But nobody can ignore the importance of such gestures, and while it will take time, it can mark for something big that has already started with volleyball a while ago - Mytanar Top League, Bollonishian Volleyball League, and the QOVO leagues being three active ones there - and perhaps a sign for bright future.

You take one look at the results and it’s pretty damn obvious which side is the best one out of all of them. With the likes of Lachlan Fosbrook, Samantha Hussey, Lole Strezlecki and Charles Phillip in the side, the Chamberley Crocodiles had to be a favourite heading into the first instalment of the Sylestone Handball Intranational Tournament (SHIT), created due to a sudden climb in handball interest throughout the nation, as well as the creation of the first World Club Handball Championship (WCHC) in aeons. Twelve teams from ten cities, with two from Avondale and Chamberley, came together to fight it out for four spots in the WCHC, a club tournament that is expected to be dominated by Savojar, Bollonischian and Quebecois leagues. However, being internationally ranked second in the world after the most recent Handball World Cup, the SHIT appears to stand a chance.

Original plans laid out by the Sylestone Handball Association of Teams (SHAT) only had eight teams, but with the Chamberley, Betham and Avondale clubs looking too strong, sides from Kirton and Dodle were created alongside an extra club in Avondale and Chamberley. This put the franchise count up to twelve and while some critics suggested this was too many, the SHAT stuck with it.

But the creation of the Chamberley Snakes alongside the Crocodiles did little to nullify the strength of the latter’s side, still going into the tournament as favourites, despite being closely matched by the likes of the Betham Sunrisers and possibly the Sentient Sapients, Cleorough Thorns and Avondale Avengers. Four of those five sides were expected to qualify for the WCHC, while no other sides appeared to have the outfit to really challenge the title, although some, such as the Pesfield Poopers and Chamberley Snakes, appeared to have a chance at the top four. But still, despite the top-heavy nature of the league, crowds packed in for the first match between the Avondale Avengers and Sentient Sapients at the 15,000-seater Avondale Arena.

They were not disappointed, either, with a thrilling match between the Sentient side and their Avengers. In the end, the Sapients would come out on top by a mere two goals to kick the league off with an enthralling start.

But right from the end of the very first matchday, the Chamberley Crocodiles would sit upon the top of the table and never, ever dropping down further. They achieved this with a surprisingly easy 27-16 whacking of a decent-looking Halpenley Scorchers outfit to set the tone for what would be a brilliant season for the franchise, with only two draws and three losses to go alongside their 17 wins, finishing on 36 points, six ahead of their nearest chasers. They began with three wins on the trot, following the 27-16 victory over the Scorchers with a 32-21 win over arguably the weakest side in the league, the Kirton Cavaliers and a much tougher 34-27 win against the Pesfield Poopers. It was on matchday four that they suffered their first loss, with the Avondale Avengers coming from behind to take out a 24-22 victory in front of a home crowd in raptures.

On matchday eight, the Crocodiles lost their second game, this one a shock home loss to crosstown rivals Chamberley Snakes, allowing the Betham Sunrisers and Pesfield Poopers to catch up, both sides now a single point behind the Crocodiles.

But from there, the Crocodiles took the lead, moving four points in front on matchday twelve and in the final ten games, did not allow the lead to drop below that number. Avondale Avengers continued to provide issues for the Crocodiles, with the capital side holding the Crocodiles to a 28-all draw at home despite residing in sixth place, although they were only a win away from Pesfield Poopers in second place as the league began to heat up. The Crocodiles then avenged their loss against their cross-town rivals with a 34-23 drumming and despite an earlier loss to the Sunrisers on matchday seventeen, still remained well ahead of the pack.

Their position as the league winners was confirmed on matchday twenty, with a six-point lead over the Avondale Avengers following the Crocodiles’ victory over the Snakes. This meant that if anyone but the Chamberley side were to win, the Avengers, the only side with a head-to-head advantage over the Crocodiles, would have to win all three of their games.

The Crocodiles, with remaining games against the Cleorough Thorns and bottom two sides Dodle Mountaineers and Dunkirk Daredevils, needed to really shit the bed to even give the Avengers a chance of catching up. They had a good chance of winning their first two games, against the eighth-placed Halpenley Scorchers and tenth-placed Kirton Cavaliers, but their final match against the Pesfield Poopers would be the killer. It was an extremely unlikely circumstance, but not impossible.

But despite the Avengers’ 32-27 victory over the Scorchers, the Crocodiles ensured they would take out the title for the inaugural SHIT, with the Cleorough Thorns unable to stop the Chamberley franchise as they romped home to a 29-21 victory. So despite playing a side well under full-strength for the following matches against the Dodle Mountaineers and the Dunkirk Daredevils, a respective draw and a win ensured that the Crocodiles would finish matchday 22 off with a six-point lead and an extremely comfortable championship.

Despite the Crocodiles dominating the entire season from start to finish, the true challenge for progression to the WCHC appeared to be spicy at the halfway mark. With the Crocodiles in the lead on 18 points, the Sunrisers on 16 and the Poopers on 15, the top three seemed to be a bit ahead of everyone else, although things could change. But three teams - the Avondale Avengers, Cleorough Thorns and Avondale Stars, were all in fourth to sixth place, all on twelve points each. A good sign for an intriguing final few games to see who could lock down that spot.

By matchday fifteen, things were even tighter, with the Sunrisers and Poopers both dropping big games, ensuring only three points separated second and seventh place, with the Sapients jumping up into the mix with three wins on the trot. However, by matchday eighteen, the Avengers had jumped up into second, equal on 23 points with the Poopers, with the Sunrisers hot on their heels on 22. But the rest of the group had dropped off, with the Thorns and Stars both on 20, a win behind the Sunrisers, and the Sapients on 19. Maybe it wasn’t going to be so interesting, after all.

Yeah, it wasn’t. With one matchday to go, the Sunrisers had climbed to a four-point lead over the Avondale Stars, confirming the top four sides before the final matchday had even been completed. With the winner already known and the qualifiers for the WCHC, the finale wasn’t as good as it could have been, but the four sides had deserved it and played far better than anyone else.

Overall, though, it was an impressive, engaging season and well worth the effort put in by the SHAT. The skills performed by many players were certainly acceptable for a nation with the some of the world’s best. For many clubs, such as the Cleorough Thorns and the Sentient Sapients, it was a poor season, while for franchises like any of the top four sides and even those as low as the Kirton Cavaliers in tenth, were indeed satisfied with their team performances. But in the end, there can only be one winner, and three other sides who brought success to their supporters, as the Chamberley Crocodiles, Betham Sunrisers, Avondale Avengers and the Pesfield Poopers moved onto the international stage.

2051-52 Gatchingerrak Superliga Season

Gatchingerrak Union of Rushmori nations, shortened as the Gatchingerrak Union, is a cultural and political alliance of four countries of the Quebecois Commonwealth located in mid-southern Rushmore (Norrskie Zasousti, Norrehavn, Gatchinovo and Novopetrograd). The three kingdoms and the citystate, while independent nations of own, do have the Gatchingerrak Union as a way to establish their common zone, where their main goals are to advance co-operation in military, cultural, economic and energy matters. It shares land border with Vaugania and Norrhem to the west, while bits of the east touch Phoenigetzusta. Combined population of the union are estimated to be around 81 million.

While its trio of nations have always fought with one another for centuries, Gatchingerrak Union is a culturally diverse nation with growing importance outside to that of the Quebecois Commonwealth. Its population is ethnically diverse, with the eastern, Novopetrogradian half of the realms primarily Slavic, while the Western half is divided to primarily Nordic Norrehavn on north and slavic Norrskie Zasousti on the south. Somewhere in middle of the lake, which faces all of the three nations, stands the island that is nowadays known as the citystate of Gatchinovo, the ancient place known for its significance on trades and diplomacy among the Rushmori realms of the Quebecois Commonwealth. It is where the Accord between the 4 states were signed in year 2030 (around the time of WC78), to promise co-prosperity among the rivalling states whose cooperation is needed more than ever. Its economy is a mix of natural resources and heavy manufacturing for it.

A no stranger to international sport, Gatchingerrak Union does have a past history of international football and hockey, where its western realms were represented as Norrehavn. It has hosted a Copa Rushmori and a World Cup of Hockey, and both sports are extremely popular. Handball is a popular sport for both men and women across most of the Union, but in particular the northern two-thirds of the nation where handball and indoor sports are readily played. The dualsex Gatchingerrak Superliga enjoys solid popularity, especially in Norrehavn, where the quality and popularity of volleyball have not been great in the recent half-century, but also in the eastern nations of Novopetrograd and the Gatchinovo citystate, where their popularity is outpaced by volleyball but the sport endures with little trouble. The league enjoys decent parity, with the championship usually contended by both Nyhavn clubs, Fakel Gatchinovo and Armada Petrograd, while the historic powerhouses Azovskiye Medvedi and BoIFK have struggled a bit more to increasing competition in the recent years. With the recent openings of foreign players in the handball leagues across the multiverse, which have allowed the readily exchanges of handball stars between the Union and other nations (usually this means Quebec and Shingoryeo, and other Quebecois Commonwealth nations, but also includes others), as well as the third-place finish for the Seven Stars on the Handball World Cup 24, the league holds great financial promise in future-time.

Procedural Notes

All entries were accepted.
The late entries from Bollonich, Gatchingerrak Union, Savojarna, and Sylestone were accepted.
There are twenty-eight entries from seven nations, with twenty entries from ranked associations per the Handball World Cup. While the WCHC is not governed under the HWC, the relatively intimate nature that exist between the two competitions would mean that the associations with history in HWC better be given priorities.
Thus, with this in mind, significant part of bonus for scorination were given to the clubs belonging to five associations who have participated in the most recent HWC as well. Those are Bollonich, Gatchingerrak Union, Quebec and Shingoryeo, Savojarna and Sylestone. For the purpose of this competition, the clubs belonging to the five associations will be marked as ranked associations and given preliminary ranking points into overall skill points. The WCHC continues to recommend all participants who submit their entries to sign up to the most recent edition of Handball World Cup whenever possible.

Final Site Selection

With no bid for the final four selection, Silver Box in Montreal, Quebec and Shingoryeo will host the World Club Handball Championship Final Four.

This cycle of WCHC has seen the continued success of Sylestonian teams on the domestic stage after their 2nd-place finish in the Handball World Cup, with three teams making the quarterfinals and two of them in the Final Four. The least expected part, however, was the Pesfield Poopers' victory, as they survived an extra-time thriller over the fellow fourth-finisher in Akusha Rovers to win the second straight handball final between Sylestone and Bollonich.

Entry for World Club Handball Championships 12

For the World Club Handball Championships 12, associations may enter up to four clubs. One user will be allowed to enter with a main and a puppet, with latter being declared on the form. Multiassociational leagues involving two or more associations shall have a maximum of four entrants, with each association entering no more than two entries.
As defending champions, Pesfield Poopers receives automatic qualification to the group stage. Should Pesfield not qualify, Sylestone will be given a fifth qualification spot.
For those entering the upcoming edition of World Club Handball Championships, it is once again recommended that you sign up to the Handball World Cup 25, to be held in 3-4 months' time. This is to ensure IC continuity and consistency.

The likely deadline for next WCHC Cycle will be sometime in February. It is expected that the deadline will occur in a week or two after the completion of the Handball World Cup 25.

MASTER LEAGUE PLAY OFFS

After playing the 26th round of the regular part of the season in which each club played one game away and one at home, four clubs are known to go to the playoffs.
The play off is played in the two games won. The first one plays against the fourth, but the weaker one has the advantage of the first game of the home field, and the second one against the third one.
Two clubs have dropped out of the strongest competition and the Kula handball players will fight to stay with the best third-placed team from the first women's handball league.
The champion and runner-up will represent our handball at international competitions.

The new build up Kriegiersien Handball League, created to bring more professionalism into the sport, started with the best teams from all regions, some exotic ones.
While the presidents club was as always able to buy the best players and referees and won the title, the Beagle Boys, a colorfull redneck team from the south, the Djungle team of illiterate Monsters from the Stolen lands and the Handball Mateys from the Oversea territories were able to steal the other 3 spots for the WHCH.

For a very long time, handball has remained a fringe sport without a lot of professional help and support from the rest of Fleftic society. While there was a national organization dedicated to the maintenance and growing of the sport, for the longest time that "national organization" was just two guys with a table and some chairs keeping track of their friends and the friends of their friends. It wasn't until very recently that the Commission on Games and Sport actually put any effort into actually growing and promoting handball on a nationwide level, and one of the steps that they took in order to "grow and promote" handball throughout the country was to create a national handball league. However, because handball hasn't had a lot of interest in the southern part of the country, literally all of the teams invited to form the new Abanhfleft Handball Association (AHA) hails from the north of the country. Nevertheless, the hope of the organizers of the AHA is that the new league will attract interest in the sport in southern Abanhfleft, thus paving the way for potential expansion in the future. For the moment, 12 teams will participate in the Abanhfleft Handball Association, divided into two conferences of six teams each. This is how the conferences are arranged:

It was decided that the first season of the Abanhfleft Handball Association would be played in a two-conference format; two conferences of six teams each. Each team in a given conference will play home and away against the other five teams in their conference, and then they will play one game each against the six teams in the other conference for a total of sixteen games per team. This was believed to be the best compromise between playing the most number of games to determine who truly deserves to enter the playoffs and not running these teams into financial ruin because of the associated costs of playing games. And speaking of the conferences, the AHA North has been won by one of the old clubs in the Mydeuzey Shooting Stars, while the AHA South has been claimed by one of the new clubs founded specifically for this venture, the Immola Enforcers. The other teams to qualify for their respective conference finals are the Markovsky Guardsmen in the AHA North and the Oui Orbiters for the AHA South.

To say that all four teams in the playoffs wanted to be the first team to be crowned handball champions of Abanhfleft would be an understatement, and that can be clearly seen by the intensity with which the players went against their opponents in an effort to become the first national handball champions. But in the end, it was experience that won out in the north, with the veteran Shooting Stars of Mydeuzey getting just the slightest of edges over their opponents from Markovsky. The Shooting Stars have won the AHA North by virtue of a single goal scored by a Mydeuzey native, Gabor Redford. Meanwhile, in the AHA South, big money has won out over long-time classic as the Immola Enforcers defeated the Oui Orbiters by a margin of two goals. It's still a testament to the skills of the team from the country's spacecraft factory that they managed to hold out for so long against the best team in the AHA South that money can buy, but Immola's goalkeeper Makar Mladenovic is just so good at his job, and he's being paid handsomely to do it as well! So it's the Shooting Stars versus the Enforcers in the first ever Abanhfleft Handball Association Championship Game. Will the old-timers put the new money in their proper place or will the new money tell the old-timers that the future is now?

Not just yet, Immola. For the moment, it is class and history that wins out in the first ever season of the Abanhfleft Handball Association. Maybe money can buy some of the best handball players in the nation, but in the end, it can't buy chemistry and unity. The team from Mydeuzey have been playing with each other for almost an entire decade now, so it's no surprise that they're more organized and more supportive of each other despite suffering some early setbacks in the championship game. In the end though, it was the Shooting Stars that would triumph over their newly founded opponents, and they would be the ones to lead Abanhfleft's charge into the World Club Handball Championship.

Game of the Round: Sentient Sapients vs Betham Sunrisers
An important game for both sides despite the season still being in its early stages, the fifth-placed Sentient Sapients were able to defeat the sixth-placed Betham Sunrisers by a single goal in a thrilling, topsy-turvy match that never quite seemed to go one side’s way. Both teams were right at the top of their game, but in the end, the Sapients were able to put home the final goal and take out both points, while the Sunrisers slumped to their knees in agony. Nothing was going their way this season.

Upset of the Round: Cleorough Thorns vs Avondale Avengers
The Avengers have dropped to fourth following this game, where they suffered a surprising loss at the hands of the Cleorough Thorns. However, the Cleorough victory was down to just one person - 36-year-old Bianca Gotch in goals, who saved a multitude of brilliant shots to restrict the Avondale Avengers to just 23 goals. Yet, the hosts’ forward line struggled, keeping the game alive until its dying seconds, but in the end, they one-upped the Avengers for just their fourth win of the season.

And it didn’t disappoint, with the two sides going almost goal-for-goal throughout the first half, which finished 16-all. However, in the second half, the quality of Samantha Hussey and Lole Strezlecki in the back line came through, restricting the Poopers to just twelve goals while the Crocodiles scored 17 as the Chamberley club moved clear at the top of the table, extending their win streak to eleven games.

With this result, the Avondale Stars have dropped out of the top four, the Sentient Sapients and Avondale Avengers currently residing beneath the Crocodiles and Poopers in third and fourth place respectively. However, the difference is just one point, and just one extra point this game could have ensured that they kept pace with those two. But no, the Chamberley Snakes held on, identifying the match as one they could take a point - or more - out of and playing some of their best handball. Goalkeeper Stephanie Levien was a star, as was the experience of Damon Zachariasson and Charles Phillip in the back line as they held the Stars to a 24-24 draw, maintaining seventh position with a five-point gap either side of them.

The Avondale Stars have fallen further behind fourth place with this loss to their cross-town rivals at home, being soundly defeated, 27-23, by the Avondale Avengers. Aside from various points within the first fifteen minutes of this match, the Stars were always behind. Sure, they made the game interesting and never gave up, but once past half-time, they never looked like equalising, let alone taking the lead. Fortunately for them, though, a Betham loss to the Chamberley Crocodiles ensured they maintained their position in third, but a Sentient victory means they’ve fallen three points behind fourth place and a WCHC spot.

The Poopers have retaken their spot at number one following this game, where they were able to defeat the Avondale Avengers by a mere two goals. For the majority of the game, the hosts led, but in the final fifteen, when they began to tire, the class of the Pesfield franchise came through, scoring late goals to ensure they took both points out of the encounter. For the Avengers, the result means that after their superb start with five wins in five games, they are now only hanging onto a spot in the top four by a thread, with the Avondale Stars hot on their heels. They would have to up their game to remain there.

Upset of the Round: Chamberley Crocodiles vs Sentient Sapients
Finally, someone has halted the Crocodiles’ thirteen-game winning streak. And it wasn’t exactly the team we expected it to be, either. No, the Sentient Sapients’ mercuriality came through just at the right time in a dominant performance, keeping the Crocodiles out of the game for much of the time. Yet, their sheer experience and quality as a playing group were good enough to still put 22 goals past the Television in goals and take the match to its dying seconds, where the Mobile Phone was able to successfully put a 24th past Savannah Kidman to seal the match.

The extent to which Betham were struggling for rhythm was more present than ever in this match, as a last-minute blitz allowed them to topple the seventh-placed Chamberley Snakes. Throughout almost the entirety of the match, the visiting Chamberley franchise were able to lead, and with five minutes to spare, the score was 27-25 in their favour, the Sunrisers desperately needing a miracle fightback. And that was exactly what happened, with Zachary Radcliffe scoring three goals in four minutes as the Snakes choked what seemed to be the unloseable.

Upset of the Round: Pesfield Poopers vs Avondale Stars
Finally, an upset to talk about. Currently on the brink of the top four, the Avondale Stars were able to complete an all-important victory over the ladder-leading Pesfield Poopers, allowing the Chamberley Crocodiles to once again leap them into first place with a 27-24 win over the Mountaineers. Here in Pesfield, though, the hosts were simply not able to play at their best of their abilities, in stark contrast to Cameron McRae’s Stars, who eventually came out on top by two goals, keeping pace with the top four, only a single point behind their cross-town rivals on 26 points.

It may have not been the closest of matches, but the sheer importance of it was enough to make it in here, as it made a significant change to the top four. At home against the struggling Betham Sunrisers, the Avondale Avengers had every right to believe that they should be able to take a rather easy win out of the match, despite their opposition being a member of the so-called “big four”. But finally, in this match, the Bethamites were able to compile a commanding performance, taking full toll of their opposition’s cockiness en route to a 29-24 win. And with the Avondale Stars overcoming a tough challenge presented by the Halpenley Scorchers, the Avengers dropped out of the top four for the first time of the season. But there were bigger things to talk about: were the Betham Sunrisers - dare I say it - back?

Yep, the Sunrisers were definitely back. But so were the Avondale Stars, completing a rejuvenated performance after jumping into the top four with the Avengers’ loss last matchday. The result? One of the best games we’ve seen thus far in the history of the SHIT. Throughout the match, the two sides could barely be separated as they matched each other play for play, with tensions often heating up at various points during the match, resulting in a red card for each team. With neither side deserving zero points out of the match, the handball gods decided that the game would finish 24-24, and thus, the two sides would share the points.

If there was anyone doubt about it over the past two rounds, Betham had confirmed that they were once again back at their best. With the Pesfield Poopers just falling a bit, the Sunrisers capitalised, their forward line playing as best as they ever had, scoring 31 goals to the Poopers’ 28. Yet, the win still wasn’t enough to push them up a spot in the table with the Stars and Avengers both winning their matches. But it did lengthen their gap to seventh place to eight points, and moved them within three points of fourth place.

It may be a bit of a stretch to call this an upset, but the lack of them recently has us begging for one of any sort. Over recent weeks, the Sapients have been carving a swathe through the SHIT, winning game after game to move into second place, equal on points with the Crocodiles in first. But up against the team in fourth place, they would be hard-pressed to maintain that position, and that was exactly what happened, the Stars emerging victorious in a hard-fought clash by three points to maintain their position in fourth.

Following their loss last round, the Sentient Sapients have successfully bounced back with an all-important 29-26 victory over the Lauren Prior-led Pesfield Poopers, the Mobile Phone leading the way with a whopping eleven goals while the Poopers’ defence struggled. While the visitors’ forward line performed well for their 26 goals, the Sapients were simply the better side on the day as they maintained their position well inside the top four while their opponents dropped to fourth.

Well, what an upset this is. In front of the Crocodiles’ home fans at the Institute Arena, the Snakes decided that this was a good time to bring out their best game all season, defeating the ladder-leaders and their cross-town rivals 23-22 to consolidate their position between the top six and bottom five. It was a clinical performance, and one that really changed things up at the top. While, yes, the Crocodiles remained at the head, the Devices were once again able to catch up to them, and the gap between the top six was reduced to a mere five points. With two thirds of the season complete, the sheer intensity in those positions begs for a thrilling climax to the season.

For the second round in a row, the Chamberley Snakes have played out a thriller, but unlike in their astonishing performance over their crosstown rivals in the Crocodiles, the western franchise could not come out on top away against the Cleorough Thorns. The true star of the match was ageless Bianca Gotch, who was diving around like someone half her age, conceding a mere 23 goals throughout the sixty minutes of the match. Finally, the Thorns were beginning to find their feet again after one and a half seasons of playing below-par handball. A small step, but a step nevertheless.

With this result, the Chamberley Crocodiles have all but assured themselves of their second title in two SHITs, downing the Dunkirk Daredevils by eight goals to move three clear of the Pesfield Poopers in second place. However, despite first place being wrapped up unless the Crocodiles somehow lose both of their next matches to Cleorough and the Snakes respectively, the fight for places 2-4 is still going strong. A few months ago, the Pesfield Poopers were going through an extraordinarily bad patch, but have moved a game clear of third and fourth place with a vital 29-21 win over the tenth-placed Scorchers, and three points clear of the Avondale Stars in fifth, of whom have dropped out of the top four for the first time in months right when it matters. But that’s not all, with the Avondale Avengers keeping their slim WCHC hopes alive with a dominant 30-24 victory over the second-placed Sapients to move a game behind the Stars. They will need a miracle to qualify, but it’s far from impossible.

At the bottom end of the table, a Dodle victory over the struggling Snakes has seen them jump the Kirton Cavaliers yet again, climbing back up into eleventh as they attempt to avoid their second-straight wooden spoon. Dunkirk’s form has also been patchy, and as a result, have dropped to ninth place despite possessing a side that could challenge some of the top franchises. If they can finish off with a couple of wins, that could certainly provide them with a huge boost heading into next season, but no matter what, a myriad of changes are likely to be underway.

The Chamberley Crocodiles have done it. With a convincing 29-22 victory over the Cleorough Thorns, they have moved to a lead over the rest of the competition that is unassailable with only one game remaining. But while the title fight is done and dusted, the WCHC placement battle has only just begun.

After a tense 23-21 loss to the surging Betham Sunrisers, the Pesfield Poopers have failed to ensure themselves of a position in the top four. While it doesn’t really matter for them, being world champions, it would still be nice for them to assert themselves inside the SHIT’s top four and not only qualify due to their performances from two years ago. Meanwhile, after hanging around the mid-table for over a year, the Sunrisers have surged towards the back end of the SHIT, moving into equal second (third on goal difference), and only a loss, a Stars win and a Sapients win will move them out of those five. The Stars only need a triumph over the Dodle Mountaineers to qualify, but if they fail to do so, then that will pave the way for the Sentient Sapients or the Avondale Avengers to jump them. The latter has the last-placed Kirton Cavaliers as their opponents, too, so that may well pile the pressure on their cross-town rivals should they encounter fierce resistance. But the poor old Sapients, who were so dominant all season, have suddenly dropped, and need to beat the Pesfield Poopers to even stand a chance of making the WCHC.

First Half:
Perhaps the most notable thing that occurred in the first half was Kirton’s dominance over the Avondale Avengers, scoring 14 goals to the hosts’ 10 during the first thirty minutes of play, silencing the home crowd expecting a big win to round up an ultimately poor season. But at no point did Isla McCartney and Oscar Rendall’s side ever really look anywhere near their best, with the Cavaliers’ back line playing some of their best handball all year as they made a last-gasp attempt to evade the wooden spoon. But their destiny was out of their hands, for the Dodle Mountaineers also performed admirably, their back line shining to keep the Avondale Stars to just 11-9.

But the closest game was one that really mattered - Pesfield Poopers vs Sentient Sapients. The two franchises almost traded blow for blow throughout the first half, which was eventually tied 14-all, with both sides not appearing to be able to separate from one another, much to the frustration of both club’s fans but a neutral’s entertainment. The lower-table Cleorough Thorns - Dunkirk Daredevils match was played in similar spirit, and despite the hosts going 5-2 up earlier, it was the visitors who would lead at the end of the first quarter, 12-11 as they looked to finish an admittedly poor season off on a high note.

Second Half:
An early comeback from the Chamberley Snakes, who were four goals behind the Chamberley Crocodiles in the derby, had the home fans ecstatic, but unfortunately for them, it was not to be. With 18 minutes remaining, the scores were tied 17-all, but the sheer power of the Crocodiles side was simply too much for the upstarts as they rounded their season off with a three-goal win, taking their momentum into the WCHC. Elsewhere, the Mountaineers continued to prove to be pains in the arse, but the Avondale Stars successfully held on, scoring their 22nd goal of the match in the final minute to ensure a two-goal win and a spot in the WCHC, their first time to make it to the stage.

Over in Pesfield, the Poopers were able to successfully clutch second place as the Sapients sank to their “knees” in agony, falling just short of an international berth for the second time in two games. The Avengers also experienced, again being outclassed by the ex-wooden spooners to cop a huge, 26-21 loss at home to finish off a disappointing season from the multiversal third-placers. And Betham were able to round off a 29-24 win over the Halpenley Scorchers to assure themselves of third place as they, too, moved on to the next stage.

Bollonischian Handball League - Season 3

Bollonich is a Rushmore nation located in the sub-region of Pavola in the north of Rushmore sharing a border with Græntfjall and Brookstation. Handball’s status in Bollonich is one of good interest and funding as it has received lots of support from the Federation quite similar to Volleyball. What has boosted this interest in handball for investors and the general populace is the success Bollonich has had on the national stage cumulated by the current growing interest in handball in Rushmore with major nations such as Græntfjall, Gatchingerrak Union, and ourselves achieving great success. Investors noticed an opportunity in the domestic market and it does not take long for corporations to jump upon this opportunity for expansion as a franchise system in the form of the Bollonischian Handball League soon popped up. Originally consisting of only 8 teams, the field was then expanded for the second edition to increase competitiveness and also give the audience more content to watch. Corporate investment coupled with international fame has allowed the BHL to become one of the most successful handball leagues in the world with smashing success in the World Club Handball Championship. Sporting success however has not all that these investments have been limited to, with investments having been used to better formulate the youth system largely improving the hierarchy of the leagues.

The Bollonischian Handball League has not existed long at all if looked from a historical perspective, unlike much of Bollonich’s domestic competitions like domestic cricket or football. The Bollonischian Handball League has only seen two editions played out despite a lot of discussions regarding such a tournament existing for a long time. Last time around it were the Tigers who emerged as the winners with just a lead of one point over their rivals Vreton Bulls who closely missed out due to an extra drawn game. The top four were rounded up by the Yetis and the Rovers who just made it over the Frogs on Head to Head which angered lots of fans due to the unprecedented nature of it being used across different sports in Bollonich. A notable disappointment was the terrible performance by the Kings of Fermont backing up a rather brilliant first season with a 8th place finish which would have motivated its owners to potentially invest in foreign or domestic talent.
In this window of transfers we saw movement of young foreign talent into Bollonischian clubs from nations such as Sylestone and Quebec and Shingoryeo. Skye Hallstrom, a 19 year old centre back from Sylestone was purchased by the Akusha Rovers to strengthen their defense. This decision by franchises to import young foreign talents serves for an interesting case study of the difference in attitude of the handball and volleyball franchises with volleyball focusing more on domestic talent while handball is more eager in the import of foreign talent. The main beneficiaries of this were the Kings of Fermont as their scouts in other major handball nations came in handy with two young Sylestonean and Quebecois imports who will be expected to liven up the atmosphere in a team having struggled in the past season with results. A number of domestic replacements have also been called up to fill in the gaps left in the sides due to the departure of notable players to the SHIT and other leagues such as Tom Thorly and Sharlene Yap. The departure of these players has opened up positions for other players to take their place in the league and move their career forward. A stark contrast to other domestic structures however is the lack of youth players filling in these gaps which is an eventual result of an overlooked and underfunded chaotic regional system which is dysfunctional in basically all aspects. The handball federation, a sub-division of the Olympic Committee has so far struggled to introduce any necessary reforms which would promote youth development unlike their volleyball counterparts.

The most exciting characteristic of a franchise structure like the BHL is the unprecedented unpredictability in the league. Such unpredictability not only makes each match day more exciting but also makes each win worth more. A team like the Kings could be finishing 8th one season but then qualifying for the WCHC with a third place finish in the very next finish. This unpredictability however seems to have not affected the Karvian Tigers as they once again one the league with a great season under their belt. They did not start the season in the best form, winning only 5 of their first 9 games losing thrice with one draw. The tides turned for them in the second half of the season with a great run of games winning 8 of their remaining 9 games. This season once again serves as a reminder of the quality possessed by the Karvian Tigers and gives rise to a crucial question as to whether anyone can combat their dominance in the league. An important trait of the team though is their preference for domestic talent rather than partaking in what their rivals have been doing with the import of foreign talent. This can be seen in their signings of players such as Hannah Tyson and Laci Harper who very much are the future of Bollonischian handball. The Lions made good progress as they upgraded from last season’s 5th place finish to finishing second this season. This possible solely due to their superior managerial staff as has been proven throughout the year and their stubbornness to stick with the same squad allowing for greater chemistry between the players. Their journey is truly one to be admired as they have very much risen from the ashes of handballing ruin to an international stature of domestic handball. The perfect word to describe their season would be consistency as they have consistently remained at the very top where they finished at the end of the season with 25 points from 12 wins and 1 draw. Kings of Fermont also made the WCHC as they had potentially pulled the greatest comeback over two seasons in BHL history. With the end of the last season and a catastrophic disaster that it was for the Kings, they promised a return to top form and it seems to be exactly the thing they have delivered with a competitive display finishing above the Vreton Bulls with 23 points just short of second place. The Bulls were the last team to make the WCHC finishing in fourth place, a point short of the Kings with them having taken a massive hit in competition as they fell from competing for the title with the Tigers to just making the qualifying spots for the WCHC. Akusha Rovers and Lagos Yetis respectively fell from grace as their competitive positions at the top of the table were snatched away with them having to make do with 5th and 8th position respectively. This is yet another example of the insane unpredictability of the league which makes each and every season, something new and something to be excited for. The Warriors had their season pan out exactly opposite of how it went for their neighbours the Lions as they too were consistent but in losing. The Warriors finished the season with only 6 points and 14 losses out of 18 matches. This was yet another excitingly fun season of the BHL and we shall hope of equally fun success in the WCHC the pinnacle of domestic handball.

The Leonardo Jeluppe Arena, named after the founder of the Bluesome Whales a local handball club, currently serves as the home ground for the Maihar Warriors. The decision made by the Bollonischian Handball Federation to present this is possibly under pressure from Maihar Warriors investors hoping to bring some revenue to the struggling franchise. This is also a lucrative opportunity for the Federation to grow in acclaim and bring the highest honour in domestic handball to our shores. The stadium has a seating capacity of 10,000 people and a total capacity of nearly 15,000 people. It has been highly modernised and renovated from its original version to be better in line with modern sports stadiums. The stadium is located right at the city borders which makes it a good location with it being low in terms of traffic and a close distance from hotels and airports. The exterior of the stadium is filled to the brim with facilities to give tourists and spectators a joyous visit.

2053-54 Gatchingerrak Superliga Season

Gatchingerrak Union of Rushmori nations, shortened as the Gatchingerrak Union, is a cultural and political alliance of four countries of the Quebecois Commonwealth located in mid-southern Rushmore (Norrskie Zasousti, Norrehavn, Gatchinovo and Novopetrograd). The three kingdoms and the citystate, while independent nations of own, do have the Gatchingerrak Union as a way to establish their common zone, where their main goals are to advance co-operation in military, cultural, economic and energy matters. It shares land border with Vaugania and Norrhem to the west, while bits of the east touch Phoenigetzusta. Combined population of the union are estimated to be around 81 million.

While its trio of nations have always fought with one another for centuries, Gatchingerrak Union is a culturally diverse nation with growing importance outside to that of the Quebecois Commonwealth. Its population is ethnically diverse, with the eastern, Novopetrogradian half of the realms primarily Slavic, while the Western half is divided to primarily Nordic Norrehavn on north and slavic Norrskie Zasousti on the south. Somewhere in middle of the lake, which faces all of the three nations, stands the island that is nowadays known as the citystate of Gatchinovo, the ancient place known for its significance on trades and diplomacy among the Rushmori realms of the Quebecois Commonwealth. It is where the Accord between the 4 states were signed in year 2030 (around the time of WC78), to promise co-prosperity among the rivalling states whose cooperation is needed more than ever. Its economy is a mix of natural resources and heavy manufacturing for it.

A no stranger to international sport, Gatchingerrak Union does have a past history of international football and hockey, where its western realms were represented as Norrehavn. It has hosted a Copa Rushmori and a World Cup of Hockey, and both sports are extremely popular. Handball is a popular sport for both men and women across most of the Union, but in particular the northern two-thirds of the nation where handball and indoor sports are readily played. The dualsex Gatchingerrak Superliga enjoys solid popularity, especially in Norrehavn, where the quality and popularity of volleyball have not been great in the recent half-century, but also in the eastern nations of Novopetrograd and the Gatchinovo citystate, where their popularity is outpaced by volleyball but the sport endures with little trouble.

The league enjoys decent parity, with the championship once again contended by both Nyhavn clubs, Fakel Gatchinovo and Armada Petrograd. Historic powerhouses Azovskiye Medvedi and BoIFK have struggled a bit more to increasing competition in the recent years, and the clear leveling of competition between the aforementioned Big 4 and rest of the Superliga, whose results tend to go down in a matter of progression curve, seem to indicate that the league isn't as stable as it has been in past years.

Perhaps this is inevitable, especially with increasing financial difficulties suffered by many of the league's clubs - more among eastern half of the Union but not exclusive to them either - but the signs are there. With the recent openings of foreign players in the handball leagues across the multiverse, which have allowed the readily exchanges of handball stars between the Union and other nations (usually this means Quebec and Shingoryeo, and other Quebecois Commonwealth nations, but also includes others), this may be inevitable. But the signs are still troubling to say the least, and combined with diplomatic relations between its member states, there is no doubt that the Gatchingerrak Superliga is currently on crossroads.

Procedural Notes

All entries were accepted.
There are forty-two entries from eleven nations, with thirty-four entries from ranked associations per the Handball World Cup. While the WCHC is not governed under the HWC, the relatively intimate nature that exist between the two competitions would mean that the associations with history in HWC better be given priorities.
Thus, small but noticeable part of ranking bonus were given to entries from nine associations who I have participated in either or both of last two HWCs. This partly helps establishing a bit more realistic picture with competitions (It'd not really make sense if a top 10 nation's has all their sides crashing out, for one!), though RP grade still matters lot more than ranking bonus. The WCHC continues to recommend all participants who submit their entries to sign up to the most recent edition of Handball World Cup whenever possible.

Final Site Selection

Leonardo Jeluppe Arena in Maihar, Bollonich is unanimously selected to host the 11th World Club Handball Championship Final Four.

Preliminary Round

All 11 associational champions, and the runner-up sides from 3 highest-ranked associations - Sylestone, Bollonich, and Quebec & Shingoryeo, directly qualify for the final. Defending champions, Pesfield Poopers, automatically qualify to the group stage as both defending champions and league runner-ups.

This cycle of WCHC has seen the continued dominance of the Big 2 of handballing nations in Bollonich and Sylestone, with all four Bollonischian sides making the quarterfinals and two out of four Sylestonian sides qualifying for the Final Four. Unlike last time, however, the victors came from Kings of Fermont, who emerged victorious on home soil over Betham Sunrisers. Third place, in the meanwhile, was won by Avondale Stars of Sylestone, who beat Immola Enforcers of Abanhfleft.

Entry for World Club Handball Championships 13

For the World Club Handball Championships 13, associations may enter up to four clubs. One user will be allowed to enter with a main and a puppet, with latter being declared on the form. Multiassociational leagues involving two or more associations shall have a maximum of four entrants, with each association entering no more than two entries.
As defending champions, Kings of Fermont receives automatic qualification to the group stage. If Fermont fails to qualify, Bollonich will be given a fifth qualification spot.
For those entering the upcoming edition of World Club Handball Championships, it is once again recommended that you sign up to the Handball World Cup 25, to be held shortly after the qualifying rounds of World Cup 91.

The likely deadline for next WCHC Cycle will be sometime in late-June. It is expected that the deadline will occur in a week or two after the completion of the Handball World Cup 25.
