I would like to see the nations in my region ordered by endorsements, but not sure how.

Beside Today's World Census Report there is a drop-down box which initially says "Next: <some stat>". Drag down on that box and it becomes a menu with World Assembly Endorsements near the bottom.

So I was in the writing corner thread that " Space Shuttle Mishap" is a potential cause of death, but to be quite honest, I don't think I've ever seen a nation with it. Does anyone know how you end up with that - or at least a nation that has it under causes of death?

Merni found only a little over 100 nations with it, in this 2021 post analyzing the Nations dump. Space Shuttle Mishaps are also discussed further there in general.

Yup.

On your nation page, click on the trophy icon (third from the right) below the political freedoms box. In the resulting ranking list, scan the left-hand column for the blobby stick-figure icon, or look for "Human Development Index" in the second. (Clicking on either will take you to the history graph for the stat.)

Back at the ranking page, near the top left below your flag there are a pair of icons labelled % and #, which give change the list to show your percentage or numerical rankrespectively in the two right-hand columns (world and regional rankings)

You can also get to the history graph by using a url like
Code: Select all

I have a few questions in mind.
First are the gameplay as strict strategy based for realism or does not?

Second if it is then what are the key things to pioritize and the basic strategies just any strategies you dont have to give all an example only.

Third what are the win conditions in the gameplay.

Fourth what are the best thing to do or the first response if any nations starts invading the region? do you intercept it with firepower or wear the enemy down biased by guerilla tactics or anything at all

You largely seem to misunderstand what Gameplay is. So I'm going to answer these things in a bit of a strange order.

3. There is no singular win condition in gameplay. Defenders view winning as preventing raiders from hitting their target, whereas raiders define a win as hitting their target. Defenders might also have the more advanced and concrete win condition of 'ending raiding on the site forever'.

4. If you see someone invading your region and you have border control powers the first thing you should do is navigate to their nation page and eject + ban them. There is no fire power that you can use to intercept them, this isn't that kind of game. If they've successfully taken over your region you should reach out to the regional founder, or if they're unavailable or cte'd you should reach out to a defender group for help. There are arguably guerilla tactics that can be employed.

1. There is no single strategy for gameplay; there are a number of different ones depending on what side of the conflict you're.

2. Being on and active at the site updates is the most basic and important strategy.

How to become a Benevolent Dictatorship?

Postby Non-Pacistan » Thu May 12, 2022 4:03 am

Hi, I want to be classified as a Benevolent Dictatorship. Based on the chart showing how Nations are classfied, Benevolent Dictatorships need to have great civil and economic freedom. Improving Civil Rights is easy, but how exactly do you become economically free? I have high average income and great economic efficiency, yet I am not getting anywhere close to becoming a Corporate Police State or Compulsory Consumerist State, let alone a BD.
So what exactly am I supposed to change in my economy to be reclassified? I need help regarding this question.

Thanks in advance :)

It's not your economy which matters for WA classification, but your Economic Freedom.

To raise it pick free market options; to lower it regulate industry, impose safety standards, etc.

Role-Playing region?

Postby Nouvel Acadie » Wed May 18, 2022 4:29 pm

I have been playing this game for 15 years, so I've been around the block. I am used to being in a region whose emphasis was on Role-Play: quality, well-written, novel-worthy role-play.

I am not interested in Discord AT ALL, or off-site platforms.

I am NOT interested in the WA, raiding, or regional politics.

If anyone can recommend a region, I'm all ears.

There are plenty out there, but since this is the only one close to our circle, may I suggest the The Alliance of Dictators? Personally I think they have good RP (particularly focusing on Sci-fi). But "novel-worthy"? Hmmm...I can't really say for sure.

I personally wouldn't start an RP focused region without you having a following first.

I'm a new (~1 month) player trying to understand the inter-nation game mechanics. Is this the correct place for me to ask questions?
Presuming it is...I first would like some clarification. The region I belong to is similar to how I belong to a clan in, let's say, clash of clans right?
I can move between regions, but how does that impact my nations gameplay? What gameplay mechanics are dependent on your region? What access to events/benefits do I get from being in a region?

Can I interact with every nation in the game? Can every nation interact with me? Am I only protected by the politics of the game? Or, are there mechanics within the game that prevent some ultra-advanced nation from nuking me into oblivion (or whatever the equivalent is in-game).

When I get an issue involving another nation, is that flavor text, or are the issues I receive impacted by the wider game world?
In what ways does the wider world impact my nation? I see the World Assembly, and I presume what they vote for impacts me, but how?

Also, I think I found a bug involving the side menu. When I navigate to the main forum page using the left side menu. The button for the forum disappears. However, when I go to my region, the world assembly, etc, the button for that menu remains on the side menu. I've spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to navigate to the main forums page because the forum button wasn't appearing for me when I was within the forums.

Anyways... This seems like a very interesting game, and I am surprised to see it so active. Even this thread was created over 8 years ago and still has people engaging with it.

That's intentional - the forum sidebar is frustratingly slightly different from the in-game sidebar :P

I don't know 'clash of clans', but the only gameplay mechanics dependent on regions are _
1. If you are in the W.A. then you can 'endorse' other W.A. members in the same region: The nation with the most endorsements becomes the region's W.A. Delegate, who receives certain extra abilities in the W.A. and who might -- depending on whether the region also has a 'Founder' and if it does then on what they decide -- possess 'executive' powers within the region.
2. If your nation has received at least 2 endorsements then you can submit proposals to the W.A..
3. If the region has anybody (Founder or Delegate] with executive powers then they can also grant other nations -- which do not have to be W.A. members -- powers as 'Regional Officers' to affect various aspects of the region's mechanics & its homepage.

Some regions also choose to have roleplayed regional governments, maps, and so on, but those are not tied to gameplay mechanics.

Can I interact with every nation in the game? Can every nation interact with me? Am I only protected by the politics of the game? Or, are there mechanics within the game that prevent some ultra-advanced nation from nuking me into oblivion (or whatever the equivalent is in-game).
You can send 'telegrams' to every nation in the game (unless they decide to block you, or to block TGs in general),and you can interact with any nation that's posting in the forums unless it's only in "[CLOSED]" threads to which you haven't been invited... but you can also choose not to interact with a particular nation. It is established policy that you are fully entitled to ignore anything that another nation posts, and do not have to participate in (or be affected by) "wars" unless you actually choose to do so.

When I get an issue involving another nation, is that flavor text, or are the issues I receive impacted by the wider game world?
It's just flavour text, your issues neither affect nor are affected by any other nations.
In what ways does the wider world impact my nation? I see the World Assembly, and I presume what they vote for impacts me, but how?
If you are in the W.A. when the G.A. passes a Resolution (even if that's a Repeal) then this will affect your nation's stats, to a slightly greater extent than answering an issue does (although the effects have been toned down in recent years), and your nation is supposed to obey all of the Resolutions that are currently in force... although many players ignore this detail. (It's only within the G.A.'s own section of the forum that people really care about it). The 'Security Council' can 'Commend' or 'Condemn' any nation (whether or not they're in the W.A.), which just gives them a badge that's a clickable link to the Resolution involved: It can also 'Liberate' regions, which means that passwords for entry set by those regions' Delegates don't work (although passwords set by Founders are unaffected by this).
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Automatically:
Day 1: start at population: 5 million
Days 2-6: 5 days growth of 1 million: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10,
Days 7-11: 5 days growth of 2 million: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20,
Days 12-15: 4 days growth of 3 million: 23, 26, 29, 32
Days 16-17: 2 days growth at 4 million: 36, 40

Days 22-23: random growth of 5, 6, or 7 million per day, with even chance.

According to this

Your population increase maxes out at days 22-23 but continues at that rate. Hope that helps
