How do I get involved in this? Many people in my country (myself included) love Japanese culture. Long Live Japan and Ukraine!

For one, Malphe isn't a festival planner - Malphe holds a position in Osiris, which you will note is not one of the festival organizers.
You should also note that Malphe does not hold any position in The Black Hawks, the festival organizer in question with which Thaecia cut ties with.
Further, you should note that the announcement (in this thread) noting Thaecia's withdraw from the festival was posted after Thaecia cut ties with The Black Hawks.
Finally, in no way did the raid of Warzone Sandbox, their stated "straw that broke the camel's back" have any relation to the festival in any way shape or form.

In anticipation of a follow-up bad take, I do not have anything to do with the festival past expressing a desire to attend and play chess at it.

With that out of the way, do you plan on attending the festival?

I'm not sure what point you were trying to make here. Of course the announcement was posted after Theacia cut ties with the TBH, it's a response to Theacia's withdrawal.
To be clear. Theacia cut ties in response to a series of provocations from TBH threatening it's relationship with it's allies, it's response? To use a mutual project with TEP to engage in a provocation against Theacia, one of TEP's allies; causing it to threaten to withdraw. Hence my response to Malphe: If you want to be able to engage in interregional events without "theatrical politicking".... don't do this. It basically forces your partners into this position.

As was I. It's evident from Thaecia's embassy that no further damage could be done between them and TBH. It doesn't make the announcement any better a look, but acting like it was what 'pushed Thaecia out' is plainly incorrect.

If your intent was that Mira's post specifically was an attempt to drive a wedge between TEP and Thaecia - that's attempting to make a mountain of a molehill at best.

Is it really immature or petty to think that it wouldn’t be so bad if a group of people who contribute a (vastly) net negative to the in-game world ended up stopping doing so?

I don’t think so, but you’re free to live in whatever universe you want where I supposedly contradicted myself.

Hi all,

To start things off, as the official account and organisers of this festival, we apologise for making a contentious post that sparked off much controversy. We definitely could have phrased that better, and will do so in future.

It is definitely not our intention to cause discord and unpleasant feelings in this thread.
Festivals are a time of gathering, where we put aside differences for our common interest, anime in this case.

With that being said, we would like to kindly request that this unpleasant incident be placed aside, and ongoing discussions regarding that matter be placed aside by all parties involved.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Signed by the Festival Organisers

And probably not, though in large part because anime isn’t really my cup of tea.

Then why is your iron in this particular fire?

It is petty to say you don't care if other players get burnt out. Your justifications for the petty comment only determine whether or not you were rightfully petty. :p

Either way, it's a contradiction because earlier in the thread you acted like pettiness is a behavior that's disappointing for you to see. If seeing people being petty really does disappoint you, then you shouldn't be so shameless in being that way yourself. It's not internally consistent.

Same reason as you. Because GP is boring and this is literally the most interesting thing happening?

Heeeey, as cool as this topic is, as one of the event staff I'd like to respectfully request we shift to the festival itself.

If you'd all check the first post by the festival account, you'll see it's been updated with some new information.

I am flattered to see how popular point-based team competition festivals have become. I only wish there was some more originality to their mimicry beyond copying the entire event concept without request or consultation, straight down to its daily IO games. I do wonder where it came from.

Io games or team-based festivals are not an owned concept and as you suggested a trend. As for the exact io games being played, they were chosen by Bjourn when told to pick io games to play. As you may guess there are only so many io games to play. This festival has many unique events if you would even look an inch below the surface you would see that.

Matsuri Day 2! Vtubers, Slither.io and Best Girl Voting

Postby Hanami Matsuri » Mon Mar 21, 2022 12:50 am

Festival Day 2

Image
Hololive 3rd Fes: Link Your Wish, wow that was a blast.

We had an unofficial watchalong for the Hololive 3rd Fes in our discord server. Though unplanned, it was only natural that we were all up to watch our favourite idols, whether on youtube or other platforms.
For all of you holofans not in the festival, I hope you caught it too! There's a free version on the Hololive official ch up till the 30m mark!
We also shared many twitter posts of the Hololive Super Expo 2022 in our Vtuber channel and had a great time seeing how the situation was like there! (Put the gun down smol ame)

We also had a rewatch of Hololive's 1st Live: Bloom!
Image

Now that was nostalgic, we're all waiting for the watch party for Hololive's 2nd Fes: Beyond The Stage next week, so if you want to join us, hop into the discord server!

Vtubers are amazing, we may all come from different parts of NS, but we share a bond as Vtuber and Anime fans.

But that's not all! Vtubers are one part of the Anime scene, but we also paid tribute to actual anime, by watching the first 3 eps of Houseki no Kuni and 4 eps of Violet Evergarden together!
We're super excited for the next episodes, can't wait to see what happens next!

In other news, We're also hosting a weekly Slither.io contest, where we attempt to reach highscores.

Chess signups are also closing soon, at 6pm March 22nd, UTC+0!

Lastly, news from the Best Girl Voting Scene.

We saw Shuuna facing off against Violet, and Rin Tohsaka against Monika.

ImageImage

It was a complete rollover for the first vote, with Violet taking 20 votes, against Shuuna's 3.
But the second one was closer.
We all know Monika, perhaps she lives in our computers today, but we too know Rin from the fate series.
It was a hard match, with Monika taking 11 votes, and Rin taking 12 votes!

Congratulations Violet and Rin!

The voting is only just getting started, we're currently running
C.C from Code Geass against Tohru from Kobayashi's Dragon maid
and
Holo from Spice and Wolf against Mai Sakurajima from Aobuta

ImageImage

Who will win? We're just as curious.

Look forward to Day 3!

Side Notes: 23 Card Requests are still open, to anyone from the forum!
