Taiwan Invasion?: Is United States Going to War With China?

Postby Araznan » Thu Mar 03, 2022 5:01 pm

The Forum Thread For The Possible War With USA And China.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1895, Japan Had Won The First Sino-Japan War, And Took Control Over
Taiwan, But After Japan Lost ww2 They Lost The Land to China,
And so The Republic Of China Was Formed.

But in the next few years After WW2 a civil war broke out in China, and the then-leader Chiang Kai-shek's troops were beaten back by Mao Zedong's Communist armies.
And Chiang Had to Flee To Taiwan, and Mao Formed The Communist, Peoples Republic Of China.

Relations between China and Taiwan started improving in the 1980s. China put forward a formula, known as "one country, two systems", under which Taiwan would be given significant autonomy if it accepted Chinese reunification.

But Taiwan Refused The Offer, But Relaxed The rules on visits to and investment in China.
And In 1991 It Claimed The War with The PROC Was Over.

And in 2000, when Taiwan elected Chen Shui-bian as president, Beijing was alarmed. Mr Chen had openly backed "independence".
And Chen Was re-elected As President in 2004, the same year Beijing passed the anti-secession law, stating China's right to use "non-peaceful means" against Taiwan if it tried to "secede" from China.

Throughout 2018, China stepped up pressure on international companies, forcing them to list Taiwan as a part of China on their websites and threatening to block them for doing business in China if they failed to comply.

My opinion on this matter is For China too let go Of Taiwan, give them freedom and allow them to Live free from China,
elect there own Presidents And Have there own country Independent.

It's considered polite for you to state your opinion and say why. Two, three pages, single-spaced, footnotes at the bottom of the page, nothing too elaborate. No, but really, you should.

To be entirely honest, I think the US and China would need a very, very good reason to go to war, they are far to economically intertwined to do it haphazardly

Taiwan Is Taiwan

Both RoC and PRC should piss off back to China and leave Independent Taiwan alone

But no the US and China won’t go to war - that’s not good for the profit margins of either cartel.

Doubtful. China's not going to go beyond Taiwan, and the US isn't going to fight for Taiwan. Although I have to admit, this thread reads like a "you may also like this war" suggestion.

Not right now- China has too much to lose and the US is busy with Russia’s insanity.

Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

I much more think the Chinese looking for a way to get new land would help Russia. Than usa would be forced to intervene.

But as of right now no... But it is getting close to USA Vs China any year now. Or a collapse of one of the three powers.

Depends entirely if China invades Taiwan or not.

Conversely, China is not going to fight for Taiwan, because bombs and artillery is for places where you can cash in on the land, not the infrastructure.

Taiwan is a key US asset in containing the PRC. And the Chinese have big ambitions in the western pacific.

Oh please, the PRC isn't as ignorant as Putin is. This thread should be closed.

Any possible invasion will be preceded by a crisis not too dissimilar from the one that preceded the Ukraine invasion. The PRC will ramp up its pressure on Taiwan to accept reunification through the one country, two systems principle (perhaps with some big amendments, if Taiwan by that time actually looks like it may be slightly more willing to accept reunification). The military buildup in southern China will also be spotted a mile away.

Most importantly, the first country to sound the alarm that something big is going to happen will be Taiwan. So, when the Taiwanese government says so, that's when we should be concerned - which isn't to say we shouldn't care, but just that we should try not to warmonger and cause panic unnecessarily when Taiwan doesn't want us to.

As for the U.S. going to war with China, I doubt it but I suppose it's possible. It will have to depend on how willing the American public is to support a war, and how thirsty American corporations are to profit off of a war (military-industrial complex by selling weapons, media by getting more viewers from wartime reporting, etc.).

Totally wrong.
It's not wise to bother with Australia or something.
The civil war won't be expanded to foreign countries, unless the foreign countries 'join' the war.

I meant the breakup of the West and East empires.

Byzantium fought a war to reclaim the West, which is what many countries do when they face a period of civil warfare that affects a limited part of their territory. o:
