I feel that her left-wing stance on immigration is justified both by the nature of New Mexico politics and her own immigrant background.

As I messaged you on discord, white Catholics and Evangelicals are very different in how they vote. Kerry got 43% of white Catholics, to 21% of White Evangelicals. Lest it seem that it seem this is just due to Kerry being catholic, Obama got 47% of white Catholics to 24% of white evangelicals. Now this is partially conjecture, but I'd guess abortion salience is far higher among white evangelicals and white Catholics are probably more likely to value economic intervention

Added more info on the intervention against bosnian serbs, also added a weakness on Abortion and LGBT issues by holding a fence sitting position that bothers both conservatives and liberals.

Biography: Carole Martel's grandparents emigrated from Russia in the late 19th century, fleeing from the Empire persecuting their spiritualist Christianity. Marrying to a Nurse named Sylvia Keith, Alex Zima's tycooning would prove to be quite profitable, his cunning and charisma allowing him to outmaneuver his competition. Alex and Sylvia bore five children, Carole being the fourth in line.

Carole Sylvia Zima was born on May 19th, 1944. Thanks to her father's sizable and expanding wealth, Carole had a well-off and relatively struggle-less upbringing. She attended multiple private schools in her formative years, being an above-average student and a bit of a social butterfly. Her main political inspirations came in the early 60s just as she was finishing high school. John F. Kennedy's youthful optimism drew Carole in, and that combined with the growing civil rights movement gave birth to her political aspirations. While her eldest siblings prepared to run the Zima Organization, Carole watched the world changing around her and decided her role in life would be as a political leader.

She graduated from high school and proceeded to be enrolled in UC Berkeley. She would meet her future husband, Winston Martel, and later graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Political Science. She moved back to SF and began work as a campaign staffer for Phillip Burton in 1968. She would work as a public policy analyst for the SF government in the early 1970s, being noted as moderate and realist, though ambitious. With support from her family, she was able to infiltrate the SF political machine, working to build connections with major figures, especially the Burton brothers and Mayor Moscone. After years spent working for the Mayoral government, Carole made her move, running for an open seat in the State Assembly in 1978.

Campaigning on maintaining a balanced budget and strengthing the state's infrastructure, Carole ran a formidable campaign, winning the primary and general election with little issue thanks in part to her financial advantage and connections. As she promised, she spent much of her two terms focused on infrastructure, pushing legislation to improve state roadways and build new housing projects. She gained some statewide attention when it was leaked that she had been privately pressuring (not-Jerry Brown) to take more serious measures to deal with the 1981 medfly infestation that affected the Bay Area. Her penchant for negotiation and bipartisanship made her popular with the moderate wing, and she maintained good relations with the party establishment.

The Mayor of San Francisco chose not to seek re-election in 1983, leaving the position open for the taking. The party machine had several options, but the moderate wing saw potential in Carole, pushing her to make a bid. She was hesitant for a time, wanting to remain at the state level, but was eventually convinced. Her platform focused on being tough on crime, boosting the city's economy, and combating and funding research for AIDS. Starting off as an underdog, her fundraising war chest and key endorsements allowed her to get a close second place in the first round with 41% of the vote compared to the frontrunner's 44%. By the runoff the next month, her campaign had enough momentum to narrowly secure a majority of the vote, making Carole Martel the second woman to be elected Mayor of San Francisco (second in a row, in fact).

Her first term as Mayor was largely defined by her fight against the city's crime rate. She boosted funding to the police and SF experienced a significant crackdown on gang violence. While the crime rate did decline overall, many black citizens took issue with the amount of power given to police, including the more widespread use of stop and frisk. The majority white population however supported Carole's efforts on that front. She also notably took action as promised in regards to the AIDS epidemic, declaring the first AIDS Awareness Week and significantly increasing funding for research. She signed legislation prohibiting discrimination against AIDS victims, and give gay live-in lovers the same health benefits as straights. She was criticized by those on the left for attempting to push anti-union legislation limiting strikes that were blocked by the Board of Supervisors.

The generic citizen generally supported Carole's tenure in her first term, and despite some opposition from the left-wing and the Black and White Panther Parties, she cruised to re-election on the first round. Her second term focused more on dealing with the uptick in homeless in the city. She pushed for the construction of new housing and high-rise projects, which resulted in an increase in affordable housing and a drop in homelessness. The term was most notable for the Loma Prieta Earthquake and the ensuing recovery. In a bit of a turnaround from her support for the homeless, she used police to remove and prevent those left homeless from camping out at city hall. She received praise for the city's effective management of the crisis, investing heavily in reconstruction. She was also notable for investments in public education. She was considered one of the country's most effective Mayors by the national media.

Once (not-Bill Clinton) was elected President, Carole Martel was tapped as an option to run the HUD Department, being a popular and effective mayor of a major city. She was selected for the role and approved unanimously by the Senate. She made homelessness her highest priority, much as she did during her later years as Mayor. She oversaw the successful implementation of HOPE VI, pushed legislation to give more flexibility to local housing associations to adjust rents, loosened mortgage restrictions, and provided millions in housing vouchers to low-income families, all while resisting efforts to cut the Department's budget. Her work at HUD was praised for her reforms and the increase in homeownership she oversaw.

Though some tried to convince her otherwise, she declined to retain her post in (not-Clinton)'s second term, citing her belief that her work in the Department was complete to her and she felt she was needed elsewhere, along with the tragic death of her father via car accident dampening her morale. She privately felt dissatisfied with her influence being limited to purely housing policy, as much as she enjoyed the job. Late in 1997, she would announce a run for U.S. Senate, using her popularity as HUD Secretary and nostalgia for her Mayoral terms to propel herself to frontrunner status. She was able to win an outright majority of the primary vote with minimal issue. In the general election, she campaigned on supporting the President's policies and being a decisive, bipartisan voice at Capitol Hill. She would go on to win the general election by over 8 points.

Being inaugurated at the start of 1999, Senator Martel maintained a position in the background, more interested in getting things done than getting media attention. Her first notable act was co-writing the Water Resources Development Act of 1999, and the Children's Health Act. She attempted to push through further reforms on housing, but they were rejected with not enough support from the Republican majority. She was one of the few Democrats to support the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, was a strong proponent of the Patriot Act, and voted for No Child Left Behind. She was an initial backer of the Iraq War, but she changed her tune in 2004, calling continued American presence in the country after their objections had been completed as unnecessary and criticized Cush's handling of the occupation, additionally decrying him to jumping to action far too quickly to verify the validity of his WMD claims. She supported a timetable for a gradual withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

In the latter half of her first term, Carole was a chief architect of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act. She faced no opposition in her re-election campaign and crushed her Republican opponent. Her second term was marked by increasingly vocal regret and opposition to the Iraq War. Aside from Iraq, she was a co-sponsor of the failed Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 and introduced the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006. With her growing presence and criticism of the Cush administration, she is speculated as a potential candidate in the 2008 Presidential Election, though she has declined to comment on these rumors.

Biography: The story of Pauline Bennett begins with that of her father. Her father, Bernard Botin, who was a farm worker and committed member of the Guatemalan opposition under the dictatorship, and fought during the early days of its civil war. Bastien was a tough man, who attended a great deal of protests and rallies, though mostly in his youth and prior to the birth of his daughter. He cheered when there was an attempted coup by the military officers, and joined them in their fight against the dictatorship, however after being shot in the right eye - and losing his sight in it - he decided to flee to America.

Botin moved to New Mexico, and became a farmer in a quiet New Mexico town, giving up the struggle for a bit, however, within about 5 years, he joined the United Farm Workers and got back to organising. He did some work in and around the area, however, after some time, he and his wife decided to have a child, and this is where the story of Pauline Bennett begins.

Bennett was born as a fraternal twin. Both of her parents worked in farming, and her father often gave her and her brother what he called 'lessons about the world', talking to them about his leftist ideals, with her father being a self-described socialist who often criticised the US government for not providing for its people. While she attended school and did well there, her main education, according to her, came from her father. Her father saw that she began to form into the mould of a politician, and so helped her to realise her potential, giving her books on political topics and passing down the political knowledge he had from self-study.

Thanks to both her efforts and that of her father, she was the first - along with her brother - to receive any form of formal education, with her father having spent the first twenty years of his life illiterate and only able to read thanks to education he received from leftist political organisations back in Haiti. However, due to not being able to afford it, she was unable to attend university, and instead joined the Peace Corps after finishing high school, after doing a few years of volunteering experience while working on the farm.

Both due to her ability to speak French and her farming experience, she was posted off to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she helped local people with farming techniques and agricultural management, both teaching and getting into more practical work. After the end of her two-year term and a short extension, she returned to the United States.

As soon as she returned, both thanks to her father's status in the town and her personal inspiration, she slowly began to get into politics, first being a member of being the local Democratic Party, organising to increase turnout and get people involved in politics around rural New Mexico. She was decent at her job, and so ran for Deming Council in 1993, winning narrowly thanks to the reputation she built in the town.

In the city council, she primarily focused on local concerns, pushing for increased funding for libraries, personally overseeing the "Read for Deming" initiative, where local schools were provided with books - both fictional and non-fictional - through working with NGOs, parents and some money from the budget along with afterschool clubs to encourage students to educate themselves more about the world and things they were interested in. She also worked on getting a volunteer effort up to help beautify the parks and local environment, helping get rid of litter and so on. She was reelected with a wide margin, typical of the safe Democratic politics of the town.

After two terms in the city council, she ran for Mayor, as the incumbent retired. She was endorsed by the former Mayor, and so won in a solid victory, once again, typical of the town's politics. She continued her work there, amassing what she termed the Deming Volunteers, opening door-to-door outreach efforts to help mobilise people into taking volunteer action, then pushing ahead to improve transport in the town and creating a bill to offer grants and support to local cooperatives and expand adult education. She did this through implementing a small income tax on the more well-off in the town (in relative terms - the town had the highest poverty rate in New Mexico and one of the lowest average incomes when she came into office), though some of that money was wasted in spending on a failed solar power initiative, which led to a relatively decent deficit for quite a bit during her term, however she was able to fully scuttle the programme by the end of her term.

Her ethos of small-town solidarity struck a chord with voters from her town, and her policies were quite effective, slashing the poverty rate by quite a large amount, along with reducing unemployment and driving growth to the town. She also helped cut the crime rate through rehabilitation policies, giving prisoners education and reintegrating them into the community, along with her economic policies offering opportunity to people and tackling the causes of crime as well. Her rhetoric largely consisted of three things: hope, solidarity and inclusive populism, according to one local journalist.

She also made a brief, failed run for Congress in 2002, running on a stridenly and openly progressive platform, as opposed to her more mainline run in 2006. This run failed, as she narrowly lost in the Democratic primary, 52-48. She was disheartened by the loss, but nevertheless moved on, adapting her rhetoric and strategy to be a bit more mainline in the future. This defeat likely contributed to her victory in both the Democratic primary and in the general as Governor.

She briefly saw a moment of national recognition, after appearing on CNN to openly oppose the Iraq War, saying that it would be a great mistake and urging caution, and talked about how a pointless war like it - since the UN hadn't been able to find evidence of WMDs yet and there was no resolution in favour, making the war illegal - would take away money from the bottom of American society, and that instead of spending money on bombs they ought to spend it on food. Her spirited opposition to the war gave her a moment in the activist left circles, but ultimately it was just a mere moment.

Aside from that, her term went quietly well, as local and state newspapers covered the "Deming Miracle", and so, in 2006, with the retirement of the incumbent for personal reasons, she took the chance, declaring early, once again running on her rhetoric of solidarity, along with implementing a "Prosperity for All Plan" for New Mexico, campaigning on support of policies such as expanded access to healthcare, universal employment, police reform and increased funding to education. She narrowly won the primary, using her usual style to win voters over.

But then came the general. The general was a spirited fight, as her opponent knew that her gender and race would pose a high barrier to victory, and in spite of the national environment being against him, he had a chance. She knew that too, so she campaigned hard, despite a few missteps as a result of her lack of statewide experience, with her opponent having held statewide office. But regardless of that, she pressed on, and while some felt that the newcomer progressive's campaign was going to end up like [not-Dukakis] in 1988, she inspired a great deal of enthusiasm among the Democratic base, and brought in quite a bit of attention from outside of the state, and despite an initial slide in the polls, she was able to hold her own, winning 58-39. [Note: this margin is 19 points lower than the IRL result]

Now that she takes office, what will she do? It's time to look ahead, and see what the future brings.

1. Third person, generally. And yes, those sorts of things.

2. Just put a title, a short description, then write whatever you do there.

3. It's usually 1 to 1 time I believe.

1. Third person in all cases.

2. Experiment a bit with some of the bbcode (the things above where you write) until you find something that looks good for you. Put a title and short description such as the day and place, as Sarang said. Make absolutely sure you preview everything before posting.

I'm not an admin so I can't answer your last question, unfortunately, but I hope the others were of help.

Biography:

Born in 1953 in Worcester, Massachusetts to an airline CEO and a French immigrant woman, Nesbitt Tripp Baylor was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. After High School he attended Bentley University and received his MBA. He spent much of his six years partying and sleeping around as a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. He developed a reputation on campus as a womanizer, a role he never left behind the rest of his life.

After graduation he worked for Morgan Stanley in New York City as an accountant, here he would meet his first wife Clarissa. Tripp was miserable working there however and managed to land a job at his father's company doing TV commercials. He then traveled back to Massachusetts and became the public face of Tripp Airlines. His charismatic attitude made for a perfect fit and "Let Tripp take you on a trip!" became a well-known catchphrase. He would do commercials throughout the 1980s and travel the world in his free time. He appeared on dozens of talk shows and on Playboy magazine. Living a lavish lifestyle of partying and sleeping around behind his wife's back. He would become well known especially in Massachusetts where he invested money in several buildings and bridges named after his family name.

In 1987 he would become Vice President for Baylor Airlines. It was this time he would go through his first divorce, as his wife discovered his infidelity. He would spend this time focusing more on working and business dealings. Tripp made headlines for getting his father's airline to be one of the first American airlines to get flights to post-Soviet states and former Warsaw Pact states following the collapse of the USSR in 1991. He also met his second wife Ming during a trip to China in 92'. US newspapers would show pictures of Tripp shaking hands with Boris Yeltsin and Deng Xiaoping. As an initial supporter of the Milton Administration, Tripp turned against him following NAFTA, voting for (Not-Perot) in 1996.

In 1998 Tripp's father passed away. He would ascend to CEO and formally become a billionaire. In the year 2000 he strongly considered running for President under the Reform Party but decided against it and endorsed (Not-Al Gore) calling John Cush totally unfit for office. He was very vocal about the Florida recount and firmly stated that the election was stolen from the Vice President.

In 2001 Tripp was the Host of the reality TV show "Tripp on a Trip" styled his iconic catchphrase from the 80s. In the show he traveled all across the globe to exotic locales in South America, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. However, the show only lasted one season as Tripp was caught soliciting a Thai prostitute in Bangkok while filming one of the final episodes of the season. This information led to a major scandal and the cancellation of the show, although publicly the network said they didn't want a show about an airline in the immediate aftermath of the September 11th attacks. His second wife would divorce him in 2002. At this point Tripp was at the lowest public approval he ever was. He had ruled out running for President in 2004 due to Cush's enormous popularity following 9/11 but managed to get involved in politics in 2003.

In the lead up to the Iraq War Tripp became vocally opposed to it, criticizing both Republicans and Democrats for their support of the AUMF and John Cush. He founded the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Iraq (NMCEWI) and helped fund and organize protests in major cities across America. In 2004 he supported (Not-Dean) in the primaries and then (Not-Kerry) in the General. He didn't expect Kerry to win but was still disappointed to see Cush come out victorious.

Tripp also invested heavily into the relief and rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina, traveling there to help redeem his image following the last few years. He criticized the Cush administration for not taking swifter action to assist the struggling people of New Orleans.

In the 2006 midterms Tripp vocally campaigned for anti-war Democrats all across the country, mobilizing the NMCEWI to get out the vote for Democratic candidates in close races. At this time, he also met his third and current wife Jaina in Rhode Island while campaigning for (Not-Whitehouse).

Well, you could do it in one of two ways.

First, you could write a post where your character discusses strategy, talks formalities, meets advisors and maybe donors, a.k.a. the "show, don't tell" route.

Second option is a news article announcing the creation of the committee. Essentially, some journalist says "hey, politician XYZ has created an exploratory committee, will they actually run? Here are their policies and their odds." You can write the article yourself. Obviously clear that with admins before posting.

Biography:

Upton Robert Fleming was born to Judith Fleming (nee Moore) and Harold Fleming In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His mother was among a select few women who worked at NASA on the Apollo program, the year before moving to Philadelphia with her husband as newly weds as both of them received offers to work in Pennsylvania in higher education, Judith in teaching mathematics and Harold is developmental economics. In addition to career advancement, their new better paying jobs would also allow them to live in a minority-majority suburban neighborhood in late 1969. Having educated parents, a bright mind and living in an affluent community, it was none too difficult for him to not only do well in school, but vigorously pursue extracurricular activities, sports and volunteering included, primarily through catholic organizations due to his religious upbringing. His political awakening truly began when he attended a Jesse Jackson campaign speech in a Philadelphia church in 1984, which spoke of the need to unite and mobilize young people and minorities.

He would graduate as a valedictorian in high school, graduating at 16 before earning a scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania, but intending to go down the path of a military career, he decided to enroll in the NAVY ROTC program. From the first year he began flight training with the goal of becoming a fighter pilot. Meanwhile, he pursued a political science degree with a minor in engineering, followed by a law degree he'd work on through his service.

He’d end up serving on the USS Theodore Roosevelt where he would end up meeting Talise Mabus, one of the first female fighter pilots in US history, and ending up in a relationship with which meant leaving a relationship with an African-American woman he had been dating from high school to college. He'd marry Talise in 1994, a marriage established in mutual political advancement almost as much as personal love. While married he'd serve around three more years in active duty, most notably during the intervention against the Bosnian Serbs. In response to Bosnian serb separatist force bombarding an open air market. The USS Theodore Roosevelt, along the USS America and two french carriers were deployed to the Adriatic to in which he and his fellow pilots flew hundreds sorties and struck hundreds of Bosnian serb separatist targets, helping force them into negotiations.

After transferring to the naval reserve in 1997, Upton would run for Philadelphia District Attorney, promising to bring military discipline to the fight against crime. Over the next four years, he’d aggressively promote his actions as contributing to a decreasing crime rate, raising his profile as the homicide rate continued to descend. His mode of operation included aggressively pursuing the harshest possible prison sentences against hard drug manufacturing and dealers. He’d win re-election to district attorney easily and rumors began to swirl about his being a potential candidate for the 2002 Pennsylvania gubernatorial election to replace the term limited Republican Governor. He announced his run early in 2002, running a campaign emphasizing both his tough on crime record and, to many observers, surprisingly liberal orientation on economics, even as he supported bi-partisan proposals like simplifying public programs, promoting movement towards land value taxes and backing employee stock ownership plans. He also cautiously tapped into an abortion skeptical vein among older African American voters and a critical number of white Catholics, while seeking a big donor constituency of Real estate developers and the construction industry. He’d manage to win the Democratic race in a field split by three notable candidates, securing 39% the primary vote with a strong showing in Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs, but a noticeable weakness in rural Pennsylvania.

In addition to emphasizing his record on crime in Philadelphia, he would spend his campaign promising to lower sales taxes, introduce progressivity to state income taxes and support a process to replace property taxes in the state with land value taxes to promote land development and punish vacant land ownership. He'd go on to win the general election by 5 points, primarily hampered by poor performance in rural counties, but aided by very strong urban support and solid suburban backing.

In office, his first legislative production was the Pennsylvania of Tomorrow program, which was meant to significantly lower sales taxes and increase education funding by shifting over to a more progressive state income tax, along with a variety of 'sin' taxes on beer, cigarettes and gambling. Looking to find a way to secure revenue through utilities taxes, the plan also called for a small tax on electricity generation that was weighted by carbon emissions, partially in an attempt to promote nuclear energy. The program also called for the phase out and replacement of both state and local property taxes in Pennsylvania with land value taxes, starting with a complete moratorium on new property taxes within municipalities. Lastly the bill included putting the Pennsylvania state Treasurer, an office held by a Republican in charge of an project called 'Pennsylvania Solidarity', which would exist to provide advice and aid to businesses in Pennsylvania to implement ESOP plans for their employees, support agricultural cooperatives and promote credit union membership as local alternatives to national conglomerates.

After negotiations with the republican controlled legislature, Upton was able to secure smaller versions of all of his priorities, with the exception of the property tax/land value tax transition, which went through without modifications. Upton would go on to reform government procurement in Pennsylvania through the creation of the Office of Administration and Efficiency, which would seek to factor in recirculated tax revenue in its’ procurement decisions, leading to an increase in business for Pennsylvania from the state government and net improvements to the Pennsylvania budget of around a billion dollars by the end of his first term. As part of his tough on crime approach, he also support laws intended to move towards a requirement for all prisoner's to either work or train for work during their prison term, even at the expense of bending to a republican legislature that wished aimed to increase prison privatization.

In 2004, due to an effective campaign in a low profile race during a presidential election year, his wife Talise was able to secure a landslide victory for the state treasury, even getting inroads into rural Pennsylvania. She went quickly to work using the full breadth of powers provided through the Pennsylvania Solidarity project, leading to significant expansion of ESOPs, coops and credit unions in the state.

In 2005, when the discussion of social security reform in Washington D.C. went into full swing, Upton weighed in by suggesting that he’d be supportive of having the social security trust fund transition its assets into index funds and away from non-marketable securities, alongside lifting the cap on FICA and SECA contributions. The former parts of these comments would be interpreted by some as endorsement of a partial privatization of social security, which caused some dissension in the ranks among progressives in the state democratic party. This triggered the creation of a tongue in cheek campaign by the activist left to draft his wife, Talise, perceived as more left wing, to run for governor in 2006. Talise would end up converting this energy into an announcement of her intention to run for the United States Senate in 2006.

The humorous campaign would, instead, morph into a very serious campaign to draft the 2002 Green Party candidate to run against Upton in the upcoming primaries, who was originally reluctant to do so due to feeling that there was a lack of infrastructure to support a campaign. He quickly gained support from some factions of the Pennsylvania democratic party that opposed Upton, primarily those on the right and localist leaning parts of the party, feeling that while he was in theory closer to their views, the challenger, or the Republican nominee, would be easier to pull in their direction once in office than Upton.

Despite an impressive campaign for someone who was a third party candidate in the election cycle before, Upton won a decisive victory in the primaries, though it was notably much smaller than his own wife’s senate primary victory. Both, however, would go on to win their general election victory in November with around ~60% of the popular vote, as more center and left leaning voters were drawn to vote for Talise and Upton by the other respectively, in addition to riding the 2006 blue wave. The election victory would do much to undermine organized opposition to Upton in the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, particularly when his election victory saw the end of his team's attempts to squash speculation that he was planning to run for President for 2008. State Democrats coveted the chance to have the first black president come from the state whose only other native born president was the man who let America fall into civil war, James Buchanan.

Come new years, 2007, news of an exploratory committee to run for a Upton Fleming run would come out, allowing him to draw some national media to his inauguration speech on January 21st, where he lay out all that he had accomplished in his previous term as Governor of Pennsylvania, before laying out his agenda for the future in terms that were very much nationally applicable, with the promise that specifics would be saved for his February budget address to the state General Assembly.

On March 1st, 2007 he’d officially launch his presidential campaign.

The election victories here are significantly toned down to be at around the average national democrat numbers of the given year to account for the fair possibility that Upton would do worse than Ed Rendell. Given that the RL 2006 republican nominee was a black football player, and given that he performed only ~5 points worse than the 2002 candidate, in a year that republicans did ~13 points worse nationally, I think a black veteran with a tough on crime record could perform at least this well. The inspirations here are Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, except a veteran and committed to building a political force inside of Democratic party to the left of the New Democrats/Democratic Leadership Council types, but just as professionalized.

You can keep arguing with me about Catholicism (which will go nowhere), or you can take my notes. There is no such thing as "liked by Catholics" and not White religious people in general. Religious politics don't work like that in the US. This isn't India.

I like the fence sitting, but I want something a little more substantial. So he has a weird record on abortion and LGBTQ (the LGBTQ part will definitely come into play in this RP) but that won't hurt him until the issue comes up. I want at least one more weakness that is either chronic or politically deadly — sketchy friends, major gaffes, corruption only he knows about (especially since he's been an elected official for a bit), or something like a robotic persona, a tendency to make enemies, arrogance (that hurts Macron), a speech impediment, an inability to read the room politically, or a tendency to speak before he's thought about what he's saying — something not politically deadly but still a weakness.

From 1941-45, a fighter pilot might fly between 250 and 500 sorties. In a small-scale intervention for a short time against militants, I'd expect a naval pilot to fly like four, if that. There weren't many Bosnian separatist targets that could be shelled from the air. They were militants fighting in mountains and forests, not cities. Alternatively, maybe he was a NATO bomber in the Balkans, shelling Belgrade to the ground — but that was considered a bad move, borderline illegal, pretty immoral, with a lot of civilian casualties and therefore it's also a weakness.

Born in 1953 in Worcester, Massachusetts to an airline CEO and a French immigrant woman, Nesbitt Tripp Baylor was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. After High School he attended Bentley University and received his MBA. He spent much of his six years partying and sleeping around as a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. He developed a reputation on campus as a womanizer, a role he never left behind the rest of his life.

After graduation he worked for Morgan Stanley in New York City as an accountant, here he would meet his first wife Clarissa. Tripp was miserable working there however and managed to land a job at his father's company doing TV commercials. He then traveled back to Massachusetts and became the public face of Tripp Airlines. His charismatic attitude made for a perfect fit and "Let Tripp take you on a trip!" became a well-known catchphrase. He would do commercials throughout the 1980s and travel the world in his free time. He appeared on dozens of talk shows and on Playboy magazine. Living a lavish lifestyle of partying and sleeping around behind his wife's back. He would become well known especially in Massachusetts where he invested money in several buildings and bridges named after his family name.

In 1987 he would become Vice President for Baylor Airlines. It was this time he would go through his first divorce, as his wife discovered his infidelity. He would spend this time focusing more on working and business dealings. Tripp made headlines for getting his father's airline to be one of the first American airlines to get flights to post-Soviet states and former Warsaw Pact states following the collapse of the USSR in 1991. He also met his second wife Ming during a trip to China in 92'. US newspapers would show pictures of Tripp shaking hands with Boris Yeltsin and Deng Xiaoping. As an initial supporter of the Milton Administration, Tripp turned against him following NAFTA, voting for (Not-Perot) in 1996.

In 1998 Tripp's father passed away. He would ascend to CEO and formally become a billionaire. In the year 2000 he strongly considered running for President under the Reform Party but decided against it and endorsed (Not-Al Gore) calling John Cush totally unfit for office. He was very vocal about the Florida recount and firmly stated that the election was stolen from the Vice President.

In 2001 Tripp was the Host of the reality TV show "Tripp on a Trip" styled his iconic catchphrase from the 80s. In the show he traveled all across the globe to exotic locales in South America, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. However, the show only lasted one season as Tripp was caught soliciting a Thai prostitute in Bangkok while filming one of the final episodes of the season. This information led to a major scandal and the cancellation of the show, although publicly the network said they didn't want a show about an airline in the immediate aftermath of the September 11th attacks. His second wife would divorce him in 2002. At this point Tripp was at the lowest public approval he ever was. He had ruled out running for President in 2004 due to Cush's enormous popularity following 9/11 but managed to get involved in politics in 2003.

In the lead up to the Iraq War Tripp became vocally opposed to it, criticizing both Republicans and Democrats for their support of the AUMF and John Cush. He founded the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Iraq (NMCEWI) and helped fund and organize protests in major cities across America. In 2004 he supported (Not-Dean) in the primaries and then (Not-Kerry) in the General. He didn't expect Kerry to win but was still disappointed to see Cush come out victorious.

Tripp also invested heavily into the relief and rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina, traveling there to help redeem his image following the last few years. He criticized the Cush administration for not taking swifter action to assist the struggling people of New Orleans.

In the 2006 midterms Tripp vocally campaigned for anti-war Democrats all across the country, mobilizing the NMCEWI to get out the vote for Democratic candidates in close races. At this time, he also met his third and current wife Jaina in Rhode Island while campaigning for (Not-Whitehouse).

Everitt agreed, and he secured the backing of Sinclair executives for his run, and he was elected as part of the 1994 Republican wave. Colbert was placed on the various energy committees of the legislature, where he used his degree to advise on bills that affected the oil industry and making it more efficient. He also took an active role in lobbying Amtrak to connect the state to the national system, and in supporting vocational education. Colbert was repeatedly reelected with little opposition: Colbert was well liked in the Republican Party, and the Wyoming Democratic Party was virtually powerless. In early February, Senator (Not-Craig Thomas) died. According to Wyoming law, Governor (Not-Freudenthal) asked the Republican Party to draw up a list of three potential successors. Colbert was one of the three names after getting numerous endorsements from legislators and business executives. However, controversy soon ensued after the GOP submitted the list to the Governor, as the Casper Star-Tribune reported that during a private fundraiser, Colbert had made remarks where he said the Iraq War "had not meaningly contributed to peace in the Middle East" and that it was distracting from efforts to destroy the Taliban in Afghanistan. Some legislators withdrew their endorsements and called on the Governor to appoint someone else, but the Governor ignored them and appointed Colbert on February 28th.

OK, awesome. Main thing I wanted to check was it's OK to use NPC staff members and make up minor details like his Cannon House office number (I just span a RNG lol) but if that's good, I'll find a pic and dive in. Thanks.

Of course! Also NPC press/civilians/other folks (especially in speeches, when their views can be cherry picked) are generally fine, the only real restrictions are making deals with NPC politicians.

Clarified that his air wing did hundreds of sorties, which I guess wasn't clear by my post. IRL NATO did 3,500+ sorties in Operation Deliberate Force, not sure how much the carriers did specifically. Also added arrogance to weaknesses and cut liked by Catholics in strengths.
