Podiums aren't really a stock car racing thing, but it made its way to the NSSCRA thanks to the popularity of the WGPC in its member countries. At the end of the Exhibition at the Proving Grounds, the informal start to the twelfth season of the Multiversal Cup Series, Jeremiah Brooke stood at the middle and highest step of the podium, reserved for race winners, with runner-up Kai Qiang and third placer Centur Tiones on either side of him. After a couple of minutes or so of smiling for the cameras and waving to his fans, the Yeezie driver turned to the Sherpalander and spoke.

"Hey, Qiang, I hope you haven't forgotten about our bet, have you?"

When the news broke out that the arrival of Jeremiah's wife Stacie Houston at the Gale Force Racing camp made them the second ever husband and wife teammate duo in the Cup Series, he himself took to the drivers' chat group to issue a challenge to his Sherpa counterpart: if "Stacemiah" both get wins before Qiang and spouse Tsering Chu did, then Qiang must spend an entire day in drag (not his first time either). Qiang accepted, but countered: if he and Chu win first, then Jeremiah will be the one in drag. They reached an agreement, and now the GFR pair is ahead, since nowhere in the exchange did it say only points races count.

Qiang turned to Jeremiah, who then ruffled his hair. "Thought so."

The French Army wrote:Bessières still thought Thea deserved an apology, so he saw to it that she received a bouquet of flowers and a note written in English in elegant calligraphy:

Mademoiselle Alvarez, please forgive Marshal Lannes for his rude behavior earlier. He was very upset about failing to qualify for the exhibition race and he completely forgot his manners. Please accept these flowers by way of an apology."

The messenger who delivered the flowers and the note to Thea's hauler was well-dressed and well-mannered, but not especially well-bathed...

Thea took both items, thanking the messenger before sending him on his way (and spraying perfume where he stood). Later, at her hotel room, she placed the flowers in a bottle of water and wrote out a reply.

Marshal Lannes, I forgive you for your actions after the race. Sometimes things get too heated and don't go our way, causing us to think and act irrationally. I've been in similar situations in the past, so I know and understand how you feel.

Sorry you didn't make the cut, but if you keep trying your best and channeling your rage into something useful*, I know you'll get there. I'll be looking forward to the day when I finally get to race you on the track.

Your friend, Thea
:)

*This was something she often heard from Sage Caldwell last season. He used to get really upset about coming up short in his quest for his first win, but eventually learned to keep his emotions in check.

She also didn't mention anything about Lannes and his teammates' hygiene. That was an issue for another time.

Just as Jeremiah was happy that he earned his first ever victory in the Exhibition at the Proving Grounds, Lexi Patterson was similarly glad that her first outing with Skip Stiller Speedworks ended up with a podium at the Prospect Showcase. Her time as part of Jebslunden Motorenwerken taught her the importance of working hard to get results on the track, and with that also being the way of thinking for the Yeezie drivers, it didn't become hard for her to fit in. She liked her new country of residence too - while she will always be grateful for the Jebslunders for rescuing her career, the utilitarian and militaristic vibe of the place wasn't really to her taste. St. Kanye was bright and flashy and capitalist, much like her native Hampton Island, except without the free-roaming bears.

Despite spending most of her free time during the week hitting the simulator and familiarizing herself with the track, Lexi posted a qualifying time for the Tundra Falls 400 almost eight seconds slower than that of the polesitter Marcus Reynolds, hence she shall be starting at the tail end of the field. At first she felt a little disappointed, but then remembered that if the Prospect Showcase winner (Robin Dragonovic) can climb all the way up from 37th place, maybe she can too. She hit the sims some more for the rest of the day, trying to beat her lap time, Marcus' time, and even win the race against AI opponents (whose ratings and tendencies were taken by analyzing hours and hours of footage of the previous season's races). It was already nighttime when she was satisfied with what she's done, and so she went back to the hotel with a big smile on her face.

Race day came. "Good luck, guys," she said to her teammates Pyotr Lavrentiev and defending Everlong champ Daryl Calhoun just before they were to climb into their cars. "Likewise to you, Lexi," the other two nodded. Minutes later, the green flag had flown. Lexi tried her hardest to make it to the front, where Daryl and Lav, who had both qualified in the top ten, already were. The two Yeezie boys worked together and dominated the early portion of the race - that is, until disaster struck.

While leading the pack, one of Daryl's tires suddenly exploded, causing him to lose control. And then another. The blue #20 car spun out, collecting several others; Lav tried to dodge the wrecks, but sent his car into the wall while doing so. Fortunately, he would come back for the rest of the race, but not without spending extensive time in the pits. Daryl wouldn't be as fortunate. The man who won the driver's championship last season was the first to crash out of an event this season.

Lexi wasn't anywhere near the front at the time of the accident, and she would avoid it completely. She would keep on climbing steadily, reach the top ten by Lap 50, and take the lead by the halfway mark. The endgame came down to her, Robin the Dragon, and a few others; despite her valiant efforts, all Lexi could manage is a second straight third place finish, ahead of Robin but behind newcomer Kaarina Salo and eventual winner Agata Kosaryova.

Image

Lexi congratulated the other two girls who beat her to the start/finish line, and was later congratulated herself by Lav (who finished 22nd) and Daryl (who was miraculously okay after his scary spin earlier). "Two straight podiums, not bad for your SSS debut," spoke Lav, before continuing, "But remember, if you ever find yourself near either of us while up front, don't expect an easy time!" Lexi had to laugh. Yeezies will be open about racing you hard, but they also try to be as clean as possible, something she believes in too. Rubbing is racing, it is often said. Wrecking isn't.

Later, Lav visited the UrGa garage area. Rustam Ilyich Yudin didn't race earlier, but he will tomorrow, having been promoted to the Cup Series as a replacement to the now retired Guillermo Archer. "Hey, look at the big shot over here," Lav spoke upon seeing his old buddy. "How does it feel now that you'll be running with the likes of Stacemiah and Qiang and the Shark instead of the hacks like Pyotr Lavrentiev?" he asked. "Nervous? Excited? Man, imagine the look on Taras' face if he finds out about this." Taras Lakrov was Lav and Rustam's teammate in the now-defunct Motorsports Ceroat, but having joined the armed forces, the only thing he drives now is a tank. "Wonder when I'm gonna get my shot?"

Qualifying for tomorrow's Tundra Falls 500 happened earlier in the day, with the GFR trio all starting in the top fifteen. Thea will be on the outside of Rustam's teammate Wilma von Cärinthen in the second row; the two tried to help each other out in the Exhibition but got separated and settled for subpar results. Just behind her is Stacie Houston, another possible drafting partner; Jeremiah sits at the thirteenth starting position and will likely waste no time getting to the girls. He talked to Chris Holmes (twelfth) about a possible partnership in the early stages, since the Hapiloppian is also a fair distance from his teammates and surrounded by several Dart cars.

For the Tundra Falls 500, Ricky Lee found himself the fastest of all the non-chartered qualifiers, just as he did last week. 29th on the grid isn't much, but he'll have Sage Caldwell ahead of him, so there's someone to work with right off the bat. Ricky was hoping to go the distance this time - he was forced to bow out of last week's Exhibition due to engine problems, but they have now been resolved. Sage, on the other hand, finished tenth, which he was pretty happy about. He hopes the momentum from that top ten would carry over tomorrow. And if he keeps doing well, maybe he can show the world that he too is lead driver material. After being #3 (both literally and figuratively) in GFR, Sage was happy about his new role at Direwolf.

The Northwesterosi public were divided about whether to support this new reincarnation of their local NSSCRA team or not. Some are fine with rooting for drivers in the closest country that has them, finding Sage likable enough and hopefully warming up to Ricky, but others refused to, saying the new Direwolf is Norwestie in name only. They would rather watch IRACT and cheer for Tyler Linde as he tries to become the first foreign champion in the Sherpa series. Some of them are even flying out to Ramba to watch him in the TMW 500 qualifiers. The Yeezies and Sixtynine-Xers may be hyped up about GFR bringing Ilya Tsunopin, but to these people, it's all about the King of the Yaks.

The Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan
The morning of the Tundra Falls 500
Drake Stevenson popped out of his motorcoach in the infield of the enormous Tundra Falls Proving Grounds complex and took a deep breath. It was race day in Tundra Falls, the day of the first of 26 NSSCRA Multiversal Cup races that would take Team Blue and the other teams all across the multiverse, to places like the Sherpa Empire, TJUN-ia, the world of Valentine Z, Vilita, Xanneria, Sajnur, Esmerel, Saint Kanye, Abanhfleft, and of course, to Hapilopper City, where preparations were already underway for the Hapilopper National Exhibition.

The offseason for Drake and Taylor Henderson had been different from the way other offseasons had gone in the past – primarily due to the fact that Hendo, as the new Multiversal Cup Champion, found herself facing down a ton of media obligations as the NSSCRA champion. So Drake, and a few of his friends at the Hapilopper Television Network set up a mini-TV studio so Hendo could conduct whatever media interviews she needed to do. And it seemed like she was on there every day of the week, being interviewed by all sorts of media outlets of all sizes. Her time became extremely limited as it seemed like every day of the week she’d have some sort of interview or some sort of personal appearance to make. One day it was to ring the opening bell at the Hapilopper Exchange of Common Stock. Another day it would be an autograph signing at a Mel’s Ultra-Mart where she would sign hundreds of autographs for excited fans.

Drake, meanwhile, had a handful of things to do, but not much out of the ordinary. It gave Drake a chance to go out and enjoy the most relaxing offseason he had in quite some time, and until the testing crash, it seemed like all was well for him, and when he got to Newmanistan, it seemed like he was more relaxed and looser than he had been in years past. More so than the years where he dealt with heartbreak and loss, the years when he dealt with self-doubt. On this beautiful morning in Tundra Falls, Drake felt like he was truly one of the sport’s elite, and he was convinced that, the next time he came here in several months, he would be one of the four contending for the Multiversal Cup.

Taylor Henderson was still sound asleep. This was normal; she tended to sleep in later than Drake did. But the truth was, she felt at ease almost, knowing that race day was coming. Sure, she enjoyed being the center of attention in the racing world for having won the NSSCRA title, and she enjoyed the attention from fans across Hapilopper, but there were times where she just wanted nothing more than to get in a race car, filter out all the noise and just race.

There were still more things she had to do before she got in her car, and as she woke up 45 minutes later, she was acutely reminded of it. She had to film a lame pre-race segment for the Hapilopper Television Network, where she would demonstrate the steepness of the banks at the Proving Grounds by shooting basketballs at a raised platform on the apron in turn two. She had to dress up as a basketball player, complete with headband, as she attempted these shots. Apparently someone within Team Blue tipped off HTN with the idea that Hendo had been a basketball player in high school and used to slam dunk a basketball really well.

Fun idea, right? Well, the truth was that Hendo was horrible at basketball. She couldn’t shoot a ball to save her life. She was terrible at stick-and-ball sports. But here she was, having to dress up as a basketball player to shoot a ball for a terrible pre-race segment that everyone would cringe at. Maybe if she would hit the HTN guy with the ball, it might be worth it, but she figured her aim was so bad she couldn’t do something like that on purpose.

That HTN guy was former HASCAR driver Lloyd Clarence, these days known as one of the more obnoxious talking heads on television. His voice was like claws on a chalkboard, but to many, they thought he was funny so they kept him on.

Turn two, the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds
30 minutes later
It was obvious Hendo didn’t want to be there. She had a very uninterested look on her face as she went through the motions of filming the segment. Lloyd Clarence stood on top of a 20-foot platform, doing his usual obnoxious schtick, comparing this to something on a stunt show popular on Hapiloppian television. Taylor just wanted this to be done, so she could finally get ready for the matter at hand, which was go racing.

“Alright, Hendo, you’ve got the balls to do it, now shoot!” Clarence shouted.

Not sure how well it would go, Taylor grabbed the first ball and hurled it as hard as she could at Clarence’s head. Incredibly, it worked. The ball hit Clarence flush in the face, knocking him out and dropping him to the floor of the platform. Taylor went her way off the banking and smirked at Clarence, knocked out, as HTN staffers frantically lowered the platform. Hendo wanted nothing to do with it, got on her golf cart and made her way to the Team Blue Center, where she would get in her driver’s gear and get ready to go racing.

The Team Blue Center, the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds
15 minutes later
First of all, never mind the fact that Hendo had to stop more times than she would have liked due to fans taking pictures with her and remarking on social media how she looked cute/like an idiot/out of place dressed as a basketball player. She was just happy to be in the Team Blue Center, Team Blue’s headquarters when they were at a race track for the weekend. Sure, some crew members cast some strange looks as they got ready for the race themselves, but not on the level that Drake and Chris Holmes did.

The two were enjoying breakfast and a nice hot cup of coffee when Taylor arrived at the breakfast table. Drake and Chris looked at Taylor funny and asked just what they were doing.

“Sponsor obligations. And if either of you two set that up, I’m gonna kick your ass,” Taylor snapped.

“If I wanted to set something like that up, it probably wouldn’t have involved dressing you up in a basketball uniform,” Drake explained. “I mean, you’re cute as hell, but I would have had you dress up in…”

“I don’t need to know, I don’t want to become a third wheel all of a sudden, please!” Chris interrupted. Drake and Taylor looked at Chris, then at each other, and decided to not further that particular point.

“So how’d it go?” Drake asked.

“Well, I knocked out Lloyd Clarence with a basketball,” Taylor said, “so all things considered I think it went pretty damn well.”

Both Drake and Chris chuckled. They hoped that HTN would air that segment on their broadcast of the race, and maybe the fans might get as much of a laugh out of it as they did. But before long, the discussion turned serious, as the three drivers started to talk race strategy and how the three would work together all race long. Chris would start 12th, Hendo would start 19th and Drake would start 23rd, so discussions centered around how the three would get with each other to start – would Chris drop back early so Hendo and Drake could get to him? Or would Drake and Hendo bulldog their way through the field, pick Chris up and then fight like hell to the lead?

At least the three had a good car to do it. All three drivers agreed that the Team Blue Super Skychiefs were better, sleeker and more powerful than they had ever been, and they figured this would be the start of a fantastic racing season.

Certainly A Start To Take Note Of

Oh yeah, here we go again. It's finally time for pre-season discussion to finally cease and let the action speak louder than words. The only carryover we have from last season is that Taylor Henderson is your defending Cup Champion and Daryl Calhoun is your defending Everlong Champion. The points are reset, the entry lists all anew and everyone is now back to square one in the hunt for the NSSCRA Crowns. Someone has to win it all and that journey begins where it usually does - the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds in Newmanaistan. Performances in the Exhibition were certainly noted, but the real journey starts with both the Tundar Falls 400 and the Tundra Falls 500.

Let's start with Qualifying for the 500 and to put it likely, our 3 drivers ended up all over the joint and will all have very different races tomorrow. Michael Stefan (@Stefan07) was at his finest today with 10th, Alfonso Mercado (@AM64) will have a little bit of work to do in 25th and Maddison Riley-Jones (@MaddyRJ03) - well, where do I even begin? She was our best performer at the Exhibition last week, but today just wasn't her day and she qualified with the worst time of the lot in 46th. Was it the car? Perhaps but no matter what it was, she didn't take it well at all. I hope things can improve in time for tomorrow's main event for her sake but to be fair...her boyfriend ended up winning the Prospect Showcase from last. Maybe some inspiration for tomorrow... Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton took pole an all-female Top 4 ahead of Jenna Logan, Wilma von Cärinthen and Thea Alvarez. Taylor Henderson starts her title defence from 19th, Lam Chow-Cheung starts their NSSCRA career in 42nd while Aurélia Karvonen didn't make it in once again (Lee, Lannes, Anna Star Joy, Shelby and Massena did). Maybe leaving Newmanistan will be better for her this season.

Speaking of the boyfriend, the 400 was certainly interesting as well with an almost-similar qualifying to what we have in T1. Robin Dragonovic (@RD97SNL) would start in P3 behind Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds and...Kaarina Salo? Really? Wow, fair play. Alice Jepkosgei (@AJ96) would start P9 and right ahead of Ilmari Pëkannen in 11th while poor Gongming Gao (@GG70) would start just ahead of Lexi Patterson in 36th out of 37. But that might've been a good thing for him in the end as he tagged on to Lexi and used her to avoid the chaos that would follow. Calhoun, Valkyrie and Marcus would all end up DNFing from this opening race and that certainly opened things up ahead. Tagging up to Lexi helped to an effect and in the end, seeing AJ and Gao cross the line side by side in P10 and P11 was certainly a great sight and great start for both of them this time around. Robin's race would also be great and while P4 isn't a podium, it's still a good start. It would be Agata Kosaryova who mastered the chaos to go from 33rd to taking that flag over Salo and Lexi. Ilmari Pëkannen was just behind AJ and Gao in 12th. What a podium to start the year - Agata gets her first win ever, Salo makes the podium on her and HM's debut for Kimi-Suomi and Lexi starts off her racing career as a Yeezie on the right track.

The 500 is to follow...but how can it top what the 400 did?

Mitä?! (What?!)

Postby Kimi-Suomi » Sun Feb 20, 2022 3:50 pm

No one could quite believe it..., especially herself. If you would've told Kaarina Salo what would happen in her opening weekend in the NSSCRA then she wouldn't have believed you in the slightest. "Olen aloittelija, en pysty siihen!" she would've most likely said. But now, here she was...and the podium looked good from up here.

The main focus of this weekend was just to get good points, simple as that. Marx knew things would be tough from the opening weekend onwards, but he expected results to pick up later in the campaign and not now - he "wasn't overoptimistic" in his return to the sport, in a completely new team from a nation that has never been here before. Kimi-Suomi took this message to heart as well, as did Lam and Aurélia and...even Ilmari, for a fact.

The Huippulento drivers were certainly off the pace, but that was to be expected in a series like the Cup. Lam tried their best but will have to work it up in the race while Karvonen wasn't exactly the fastest in qualifying right now - but everyone at HM knew she could be in the future.

As for the Toinentaso, she knew she had work to do..., especially against Ilmari, that loud-mouthed paskiainen who just wouldn't stay quiet for even a minute. In the Prospect Showcase, Salo's sleek pace got her higher up the field, but Pëkannen's more aggressive nature benefitted him greatly in the race. That was something she wasn't going to let go lying down, allowing that loud-mouth an opportunity to grab headlines back home first and so, she tried to beat him this weekend - and she ended up beating almost everyone else.

The Everlong is filled with a lot of interesting drivers and because of their debuting status, Salo was one of the earliest to get out on the track to set her quali run. She could feel that what she was doing was quick but because she'd never done this before, she wasn't exactly sure how good a 57.645 was around Tundra Fall. Marx said it was brilliant, but she didn't know for sure apart from beating Pëkannen by half a second. Then, driver by driver, they all came to try and knock her down...and only Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds. When her P2 was confirmed, she didn't quite know what to think but she celebrated a bit with the team nonetheless. She knew everything would be on what happened in a few hours' time, but she was still cautiously hopeful about her chances.

Then the actual race happened and she felt...good. Really good, mind you. Even despite the chaos around her, with Marcus not even completing the running and Lexi Patterson on a charge, she was still towards the front in her silver #07. Ilmari was perpetually stuck behind the JR guys (AJ and her Chinese fling in Gao) and Robin Dragonovic was bearing her down but in the end, she would hold on to 2nd as Patterson finished behind her and Agata Kosaryova came from nowhere to finish ahead. Maybe Kaarina could've won this race, "done a Maddy" if you will, but that didn't matter then. Kaarina Salo, young and still green, had gotten HM a debut podium. And she could hardly believe it.

That podium was certainly fun, the quiet and shy Salo being treated as an equal with her fellow female drivers on the rostrum. Marx was absolutely delighted, Lam and Karvonen were as well...and she even spotted a face for pure jealousy from that of Ilmari. It was then, and only then, that Kaarina knew: tänään oli hyvä päivä. Today was a good day.

"Sacre bleu what is that SMELL????" Andre Massena clasped his hands over his nose and struggled not to gag.

Jean Lannes sneezed violently and wiped his nose with an old-fashioned cloth handkerchief. His eyes were watering and his nose was red.

And beside them, Joachim Murat was straightening his clothes and flashing Lexi Patterson his winningest smile -- completely oblivious to the effect his after shave was having on his teammates.

Rinzi Zakhilwal didn't speak French and the marshals didn't speak Sherpa, Arabic, or Chinese -- but with the help of hand gestures, a translator, and some broken English, the Sherpalander had managed to communicate that Mayhem was popular in Saint Kanye, it would make them smell more attractive to women, and he was offering samples. Unfortunately, none of them had used the Mayhem products exactly how Rinzi intended. Lannes had not bothered to bathe at all. Massena had tried the spice cookie shower gel, which smelled delicious -- but then gave the bottle to Napoleon so the Emperor would stop sniffing his hair, and had to ask Rinzi for another bottle. (RInzi was more amused than upset, and he gave Massena the second bottle without a fuss.) And then there was Murat... The cavalry commander liked to have everything bigger and bolder and flashier than everyone else, and so he had doused himself with enough aftershave to supply an entire regiment.

This was how a second drivers' meeting in a row got disrupted by the smell of the French drivers.

Fortunately it was a short meeting because they were racing at the same track as last week, and a lot of information about the track had already been covered at last week's meeting.

As soon as it was done, Massena and Lannes rushed out of the room to get some fresh air, and they were not the only ones. As they hurried out of the room, they saw the plump little Chinese woman who drove the #43 standing in the hallway with a tissue over her nose.

Once they were out in the open air and they could breathe again, Lannes showed Massena Thea's note. "What does it say?" Massena asked, unable to figure out the meaning of the English words.

"I don't know," said Lannes. "I am going get it translated later."

NSSCRA 12 Preview: Cocoabo #28

Season Preview: Cocoabo #28

Team Tropicorp Headquarters, Tropicoast, Tropicorp :: For the first time since joining the NSSCRA Circuit Full Time during NSSCRA Season 7, Team Tropicorp will not have a Full Time Cocoabo driver behind the wheel of one of their three primary entries into the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series. Instead, Team Tropicorp's partnership with the Cocoabo Enrichment and Enhancement Project will be primarily focused on the NSSCRA Everlong Contender's Series and the AOCAR Stock Car Series. In the Everlong Series, Cocoabo #37 will be the primary driver for Team Tropicorp as they hope to improve on their performance from one season ago and help Team Tropicorp contend for a title. In the AOCAR Stock Car Series it will be former NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series driver Cocoabo #78 running as the primary driver for Team Tropicorp on the Atlantian Oceania Regional circuit.

As for Cocoabo #28 - arguably the most talented of the Cocoabo Stock Car Drivers and a multi-time NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series Race Winner, it will be a narrow focus season with Cocoabo #28 running a part-time schedule which will include the Season Opening Tundra Falls 500. From there, Cocoabo #28's schedule has not yet been decided but it is expected that the Cocoabo driver and Team Tropicorp will select the races which they believe will offer Cocoabo #28 the best chance to contend for victories despite being a part-time driver. While #2 Centur Tiones will be leading the team's Championship Chase along with #3 Jenna Logan and #1 Maddie Alexander, Cocoabo #28's focus will be race victories and they will look to become the first ever Cocoabo driver to win the Tundra Falls 500.

While Cocoabo #28 did skip the Exhibition at the Proving Grounds, the twii.tur backed driver put in a respectable 22nd place Qualifying Run for the Tundra Falls 500. Teammate #3 Jenna Logan qualified on the front row alongside Pole Sitter Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton - showing the speed that the Team Tropicorp Dart's have this season. #1 Maddie Alexander will start the Tundra Falls 500 from 16th position while there were issues for Team Tropicorp's newest driver Centur Tiones who will start the Tundra Falls 500 from the second to last row and have a long way to make it to the front of the pack on Race Day.

Before the 500, however, would be the Tundra Falls 400 for the Everlong Contenders series where three Tropicorp drivers competed. All three Team Tropicorp drivers from NSSCRA Season 11 returned with #5 Bryan Harrison qualifying in fifth place and in 21st and 22nd place would be #98 Jixaka Motorai and Cocoabo #37. Harrison was the class of the Team Tropicorp stable all weekend long in the Everlong Series and was rewarded with the best team result in 7th place. Harrison worked together with Cocoabo #37 and the two drivers finished the race nose to tail with Cocoabo #37 close behind in 8th position. #98 Jixaka Motorai struggled with the handling on the #98 @CocoaboPark Dart all race long and would have to settle for a 28th place finish.

In the Tundra Falls 500 Cocoabo #28 will be carrying the logos of both twii.tur and the Cocoabo Preservation Society. The Cocoabo's #28 Dart has been re-painted to match the new theme of Team Tropicorp drivers for NSSCRA Season 12 and the Cocoabo's performance in the Tundra Falls 500 may be a critical factor in determining just how many races Coocabo #28 is allocated to drive during NSSCRA Season 12.

Saint Kanye wrote:"Hey, Qiang, I hope you haven't forgotten about our bet, have you?"

<snip>

Qiang turned to Jeremiah, who then ruffled his hair. "Thought so."

"Argh, why does everyone want to play with my hair?" said Qiang. "It's bad enough when Rinzi does it!"

It really did bother Qiang when people ruffled his hair like that. He might look childish, but he wasn't a child and he didn't like being treated like one.

Other than that, he was feeling pretty good about the new season. His car had handled well in the exhibition race and he had his family to keep him company between races. Mendok had taken it hard when she lost the baby, and she was still not back to her usual boisterous self, but Qiang thought they were doing the right thing by going on the road together, and things would get better with time.

Qiang and Tsering spent a lot of time together in the garage, helping each other with their cars and occasionally slipping off to a quiet corner for a bit of kissing and snuggling. In the evenings, he always made sure he spent some quality time with Mendok so she would not get lonely. These days quality time really meant quality time, not just Mendok indulging her sadistic fantasies. Mendok said she had seen enough suffering when she was in Wuchang, and it stopped being fun or exciting. Qiang liked being able to spend time together without getting beat up, but he kind of missed the old gleam in her eye and the mischievous way she used to smile when she was smacking him around. The new Mendok was nice enough, but some of her joy was gone.

Meanwhile, Rinzi and his crew were hard at work in the garage figuring out why their car had given out and trying to get the problem resolved in time for the first points-paying race of the season.

NSSCRA 12 Preview: River 'Shark' Suzgar II - iRoS 2 Review

Suzgar Sets Sites on NSSCRA 12 Title

Tundra Falls Superspeedway, Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan :: After a Disappointing defeat in the Atlantian Oceania Motorsports Championships, River 'Shark' Suzgar II was looking to make a big impression during their second season as a competitor in iBen's Race of Stars, and invitational racing series for the top champions of Motorsport disciplines throughout the multiverse. For the second iROS campaign there would be new champions invited to make up the sixteen driver field including the first ever champion of the Everlong Contenders Series, Maddison Riley-Jones; and the World Rally Champion Axel Novikov. Another special participant for the season would be Cassadaigua's Stacie Houston. After taking NSSCRA Season 11 off to focus on her family life, the Race of Stars Campaign kicked off at a perfect time in the schedule to allow the former NSSCRA Champion to take part in the five race schedule.

With the series being contested at a different point of the season the first race would take place at the Hwoarang Racing Circuit in Togonistan as a companion event to the pre-season testing for the 19th World Grand Prix Championship season. The starting lineup for the race was determined by a random draw which would put River 'Shark' Suzgar II in the 9th position on the grid. It wouldn't get any better from there for Suzgar, however, as the long time Stock Car driver had never competed on the Togonistan circuit and it certainly showed. The Jungle Teal and Coral #14 Dart crossed the line in 12th position putting Suzgar in an early hole after the first round of competition.

The only positive about a poor showing in iBen's Race of Stars, however, was of course the fact that it would mean a better starting position for the subsequent race. Suzgar's poor showing in Togonistan would result in a Top 5 starting position at the Kardashia Autoring - a circuit which Suzgar was hoping to do well. No one could compete on the day with Stacie Houston, however, after starting on pole position Houston would lead the most laps and beat out local driver Thea Alvarez for the victory. Suzgar was in the battle for third position late in the event but got shuffled back to 6th at the line. From there it would be on to Tundra Falls in a companion to the NSSCRA 11 Season-Ending Proving Grounds 500. Suzgar had rarely had large amounts of success at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds and the iRoS event would be no different. Suzgar and the #14 team would lose the lead pack with five laps to go leaving the Vilita and Turori Motorsports driver to fight for 10th with Thea Alvarez, Clarissa Alanis Star, Heinz-Otto Junker and Rudy Edwards. Suzgar would top the group but it was still only good enough for 10th place leaving Suzgar mired down in 13th place in the overall standings after three of five rounds.

Despite the poor finishes, however, Suzgar was unable to capitalize on the resulting good starting positions. Suzgar would finish 7th at the Vankkavalta Nøperasinkring during Rainy Conditions in Aboveland to bypass NSSCRA rival Jeremiah Brooke in the standings but Suzgar would find themselves 26 points off the lead heading into the final Round at the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course. With only 22 Points available to the race winner and a further 4 available in bonus points it was virtually impossible for River 'Shark' Suzgar II to be crowned champion of iRoS Season 2 - even with a perfect performance in Rockii Coast. Despite having virtually nothing to race for, however, Suzgar finally put in a strong showing in front of the home fans in Vilita leading the most laps and narrowly out-dueling Maddison Riley-Jones to the line to record their first career iRoS Race Victory and the first iRoS victory for any Vilitan driver.

It was a welcome reward for Suzgar after a struggle of a campaign in the Race of Stars. With the drivers having not yet been announced for the third season of iBen's Race of Stars it is currently unclear if Suzgar - or any Vilita and Turori Motorsports driver would find themselves eligible for the campaign after the team failed to put any drivers inside the NSSCRA Championship 4 during NSSCRA Season 11.

NSSCRA Seasons: 7

Biography: River Suzgar II made their NSSCRA debut during Season 6 driving for Vilita & Turori Motorsports in the very same #14 ride that had been previously used during NSSCRA Season 4 & 5 by Lake Suzgar - the only prior Vilitan driver to have won an NSSCRA event. It was a slow start for Suzgar and the VTM team during NSSCRA 6 but the Vilitan picked up a crucial victory at the Jalton Superspeedway cutoff round to advance into the Playoffs and would ride that momentum to a first ever NSSCRA Championship.

Since that Championship season, the 'Shark' has combined to win eight races as well as making a return appearance to the NSSCRA Championship 4 in Tundra Falls during NSSCRA Season 8 and NSSCRA Season 9. Suzgar would finish as runner-up to Saint Kanye's Jeremiah Brooke in the championship race to close out NSSCRA Season 9. While Suzgar was unable to return to the NSSCRA Championship 4 during NSSCRA Season 11, the Vilitan driver did close out the season with a victory in the Proving Grounds 500 and will now look to leverage that momentum and become the first Vilita and Turori Motorsports driver to win the season opening Tundra Falls 500.

Motorsports Accomplishments:

  • NSSCRA Season 6 Champion
  • NSSCRA Season 9 Runner-Up
  • 10 NSSCRA Race Victories
  • 10 NSSCRA Pole Positions
  • Tropicorp 500 Winner (S7)

This blog was written by Derrick Carlisle, Jaguar Racing's Social Media Manager

The Chaos of the Tundra Falls 400 were still vivid in the memory but now, it was time for the main event. Everyone knew that getting off the right foot in the hunt for the Chase was very important, especially in the era of "Win And You're In" we find ourselves in. The Tundra Falls 500 therefore was always going to be a fun race but with all the storylines whirling around entering this one, you just knew that whatever race we were going to have was just going to be very chaotic indeed...and my word, it was.

You all know how mixed up our lineup was after Saturday with Michael Stefan (@Stefan07) starting 10th, Alfonso Mercado (@AM64) down in 25th and Maddison Riley-Jones (@MaddyRJ03) with it all to do from stone dead last. To say we all did a good job out there would be an understatement. If you wanted a race that showcased the collective talent that JR have under their wings, then this race was most certainly for you as all 3 of our cars had some good stints in the race. All three of them were in the mix towards the end and we all managed some good points too with Stefan getting our first podium of the season in 3rd, Mercado doing well in 6th and Maddy completing her comeback drive in 10th - certainly a good day for us all. Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal won this race over Sage Caldwell in a classic example of "the more things change, the more they stay the same" and that podium of Rinzi, Sage and Stefan was certainly a fun one - with fist pumps and champagne all around. Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton got 5th from pole, Taylor Henderson started her title race in 18th and poor Lam Chow-Cheung almost made the end but damage taken avoiding an earlier incident caused them to retire in the pits just before the final few laps (with Drake Stevenson and Yraaga Gilli’i today's biggest casualties). Don't worry, it will all get better soon!

The circus finally moves next week as our first split occurs, with T2 heading to Kharao for the very time and the Memorial Speedway at the National Sports Complex for the Kharao 900 while T1 heads to more familiar turf and the TMW 500 in The Sherpa Empire (Tibet, to be exact). But before I go, some fans of my blog from Hapilopper let me know of a viral clip from HTN which saw Taylor Henderson throw a basketball right into the head of Lloyd Clarence after he reportedly said "Alright, Hendo, you’ve got the balls to do it, now shoot!" They wanted to know if this warranted inclusion into the 2nd edition of MemeWatch - and who deserved to get in more, Hendo or Clarence?

First of all, I'm honoured that some racing fans I've never met consider me the highest authority in this regard, so...thank you very much! Secondly, I've thought about this more than you'd think as this issue is actually a double-sided affair. On the one hand, Lloyd's choice of words in this regard was certainly not something you'd say to the reigning NSSCRA Champion. But on the other hand, using a basketball as a weapon is not behaviour accepting of the reigning NSSCRA Champion either. Taylor is supposed to be the face of the sport now and both she and Clarence brought that into disrepute so, in this case, both Hendo and Clarence will enter MW2 as the first entry. More than half of last season's list were Hapiloppan so it makes sense that they kick off the 2nd list here...See you all in Ramba!

Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan
The Tundra Falls 500
Drake Stevenson looked up in his mirror and realized there was someone unfamiliar right behind him giving him some nice bumps down the backstraight. It was early on in the Tundra Falls 500, and Drake was finding himself midpack after a charge up to the front was looking difficult. Chris Holmes and Taylor Henderson were up there, but Drake was around 15th to 20th, and being pushed by a red, white and blue car that he had never seen before. Out of concern of what could happen, Drake wanted to know who it was and decided to ask them to please calm down.

Standing on the roof of the tower atop the start-finish line at the Proving Grounds, Banjo Williams, Drake’s long-time spotter, figured he’d go find the most flamboyantly-dressed person on the roof and tell them to tell their driver to cut it out with the excessive bump-drafting. And this all seemed fine and good, telling a driver to calm down – this was standard operating procedure among the spotters. They’d relay messages from one driver to the other, and usually the message would get delivered.

And this would usually be quite effective, if there wasn’t a language barrier. Problem was, was that Banjo didn’t speak French and the Frenchman didn’t speak English. On top of that, there was a distinct chance that he may have accidentally gotten ahold of Andre Massena’s or Jean Lannes’ spotter instead of Joachim Murat, who was still on Drake’s rear bumper. Banjo’s thick country accent probably didn’t help much either.

Image

So Drake took his chances that maybe Murat would settle down with the bump-drafting. It didn’t work. A lap later, Drake felt his car get loose off of the final corner, having gotten bump-drafted at exactly the wrong time. He had instant flashbacks to his testing crash in Buckridge where Taylor Henderson sent him for a ride that would send him flipping end-over-end. Thankfully, the roof flaps did their job and put Drake’s car back on the ground after lifting off ever-so-slightly, but the car landed right in Murat’s path, sending them both into the wall on the tri-oval.

Drake’s driver-side window was facing the front of Murat’s car, and as the two grinded to a stop on the tri-oval, Drake made his feelings known, putting down his window net and flashing the middle finger at Murat. We guess he figured that even if Murat didn’t speak English, he at least knew the universal sign that he was number one. On the radio, it was even worse, and for a brief second, the guys in the production truck belonging to the Hapilopper Television Network thought about airing Drake’s radio.

His reputation preceded him, though, and HTN thought the better of it. Good thing, because Drake was in rare form.

Drake attempted to drive the car back to the pits, but he was finding it difficult to even get the car in a straight line. When the car landed on the ground, Murat’s car center-punched Drake’s left-rear, destroying the suspension.

Drake unhooked his belts, climbed out of his car and threw the goggles from his open-face helmet into the car. As a tow truck arrived to pick up the 81, Drake swore at them and made his way back to the Team Blue Center where he cooled off for a few minutes, before NSSCRA officials rushed in and asked him to please drop by the infield care center for the post-crash check-up. Fortunately, Drake was fine, but was still frustrated. At this point, he was more frustrated that he had been taken out so early in the race than the fact he had been taken out by some rookie. Drake felt that, with a few breaks, he could have very well been in contention to win.

As it was, neither of the remaining two Team Blue drivers were in contention to win at the end, both Taylor Henderson and Chris Holmes having been shuffled out of the lead draft late in the race. Drake, having made his way to Taylor’s pit box to watch the last part of the race, could only watch and shake his head as Taylor and Chris moved up near the front, and then getting shuffled back mercilessly.

He looked at his phone to check social media, to see what people were saying in Hapilopper, and in fact, to Drake’s surprise, the most trending topic at the time had been #MemeWatch. Drake looked up towards the track, looked over towards the Jaguar Racing pit boxes, back at the track, down at his phone, and shook his head. It caught Drake completely by surprise, but MemeWatch, that silly little feature of Derrick Carlisle’s Jaguar Racing blog posts, had become one of the most popular features of a Hapiloppian NSSCRA race weekend experience.

Uh... hello? How the hell did #MemeWatch become so popular in Hapilopper that it's trending over everything else?

#NSSCRA : #TF500

Drake could lament it all he wanted, but it was the truth. Hapiloppians thrived on the silly and the ridiculous, and MemeWatch provided just that. There was a large contingent of Hapiloppian fans that looked forward to the Carlisle blog posts that highlighted race weekend, as well as the most ridiculous things that happened over race weekend. The fact that Hapiloppian entries made up about half of last year’s MemeWatch sure didn’t hurt things either.

And there was another effect to it – Jaguar Racing had become one of the most popular international teams in Hapilopper, with drivers Michael Stefan, Alfonso Mercado and Maddison Riley-Jones being among the most popular non-Hapiloppian drivers in the Dominion. That was the MemeWatch effect.

Chris finished 15th and Taylor finished 18th, but the general consensus was that they could have done so much more. At least they were headed out to a short track, the 0.7 mile Ramba Test Track in Tibet in the Sherpa Empire, a track where they wouldn’t have to rely on drafting or worry about getting hung out to dry. If they wanted to, they could bomb it into the uphill corner, haul ass downhill and bully their way into the lead. And that’s the way they loved it.

Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan

The Nation States Stock Car Racing Association. The international organising body of what they call "stock car" racing, a form of racing where drivers spend most of their time turning in one direction in cars that are nowhere near stock. In Sajnur, where rallying and tracks with a much larger variety of turns predominate, oval racing used to be seen with some derision, but more recently a greater understanding of its peculiarities has shifted it into benign curiosity territory. The difficulty isn't in finding the apex, it's in finding the gap between the dozen other cars in front of you. And so Laura McKenzie, a Sajnuran of English speaking heritage, found herself in Newmanistan, sharing the bitterly cold air of Tundra Falls with an eclectic mix of racers, some established champions, others green to the sport like her.

Three Frenchmen in particular turned out to be quite green smelling, too, and not green like the forest, but green like a humid swamp. So much so that they swamped an entire pre race briefing with their stench, forcing it to be shifted to webcams. As it turned out, their "Army France" country was stuck in the 19th century, so they didn't really know how to use soap. Thankfully, the following race was just an exhibition event. The stench would have no impact on championship proceedings, so it didn't matter. It also didn't matter that Laura started 43rd. It didn't even matter that she crashed out half way through. What really mattered was the next race, the Tundra Falls 500. One hundred and forty three laps of droning V8s.

For the second time in Newmanistan, the pre race briefing was dominated by the smell of a Napoleonic Frenchman. Instead of a muddy swamp, however, it was the powerful tang of MayhemTM brand deodorant, and way too much of it. Ironically, it was the teammates of that one Joachim Murat that fled the room, though others had tissues against their noses and Laura, in anticipation of an olfactory assault much worse than excess deodorant, had brought a gas mask she had pilfered from a military shipment in Nyowani Kitara. She wondered how much worse sarin gas could really be...

Unfortunately, no gas mask could prepare her for a back row start in a five hundred mile race, and the end result of being at the back of a forty something car pack was sliding into a wall and breaking her rear suspension. And so Laura McKenzie found herself in a garage in Newmanistan, next to a broken car that was being prepared for long haul freight to Tibet in the Sherpa Empire, catapulted to the heights of the Multiversal Cup Series from the 2.6 litre class of Sajnuran touring cars, funded partly by a footballer moonlighting as a gunrunner who hired her to ship arms and Tolat utes to militants in a civil war. Such is life.

So close...yet so far. That summed up everything Lam Chow-Cheung was feeling right now after their first-ever proper Cup Series race in their NSSCRA career. That explains why they walked alone in the paddock in the evening now, pondering everything they experienced a few hours ago.

Their main aim for the Tundra Falls 500 was just a simple one: get to the end of the race. No heroics, no scrapping for points, just get to the end and we can build things from there. At least, that's how Daniel Marx put it. Marx has certainly tried his best to clean up his act from his old ways, ways that Lam was certainly familiar with as a TJUN-ian racer, and Lam knew that the boss was certainly cheering them on throughout this debut race - a race where they ware once again al alone, with Karvonen missing out once more.

At least they could say that they tried despite everything thrown towards #38 today. Starting from 42nd, their main aim was just to avoid any trouble and things started alright - but then Drake Stevenson got involved in an incident with Joachim Murat and, in trying to avoid being caught in the melee, Lam hit the wall hard as their inexperience got the better of them when it came to getting out unscathed.

For a while, the damage taken during that incident didn't affect LCC's pace too much but towards the end of the race, they could feel the suspension of the car begin to waiver and Marx had to make the tough call to retire to save the car for weekends beyond. Understandable? Of course. But heartwrenching? Certainly, as they said to an English broadcaster after he got out of that car: "I had a simple task to make the end of the race, and I couldn't do that. I'm not blaming Drake or Murat for my demise, but...I know you can't see the emotion behind this mask I choose to ware but trust me, I am heartbroken at my own inexperience. A more experienced driver would've done better to save the car...but I'm not that, not yet. In the end, I feel my demise today was of my own doing. I apologise to HM for this start and I hope not to repeat it ever again."

Marx didn't like that tone, telling Lam that they needed to "stop thinking everything was your fault all the time" and that "growth cannot come without pain". Karvonen, Salo and Ilmari said similar and let them know they had their back no matter what - Salo, in particular, with a quote that stook with them: "you may be TJUN-ian, but you are still HM. In this regard, you are a brother to both us and Kimi-Suomi - and we will treat you as such".

But TJUN-ia may be the problem, as he trundled his way down the mostly-empty grid. All three of Jaguar Racing's drivers ended up in the Top 10 while Lam, "JR #4 in Finnish Clothing" according to the press, was down in 39th officially. Compared with their compatriots, Lam was very much distant - but they expected as such. Now, the question was how much they could potentially close up in the season to come, how close could HM get to the might of JR before everything became crashing dow-

T H U D

The train of thought was interrupted near Gale Force Racing as Lam tripped over an exposed wire and fell right on their mask. He thought about the bright lights the sign was emitting, a sign that GFR were a power in the sport...in comparison to Lam, a shadow without much to their name other than a pronoun and a mask. At that moment, as they lay there amidst both light and dark, Lam Chow-Cheung truly felt like an enigma, a puzzle waiting to be solved - or maybe one that can never be solved at all. No one at home wanted them...and now, he felt as if this sport didn't want them either.

这可能是漫长而痛苦的。(Zhè kěnéng shì màncháng ér tòngkǔ de.)
Tämä voi olla pitkä ja tuskallinen.
This may be long and painful.

Oonaftco Oontaz NSSCRA Team

The Sultanate of Oontaz is perhaps your stereotypical oil-based monarchy, with petrodollars being the driving force behind its economy. Thus it's no surprise that the Sultanate has made investments towards motorsports as well, but despite this, most of the Sultanate's efforts to integrate itself into the greater world of motorsports has been to send drivers and teams to participate in different racing series and disciplines. There is a small local racing scene, but at this point it has been eclipsed by things such as the Abanhfleft Racing Truck Series (ARTS) and, more recently, AOCAR and AOGP. The Sultanate has been the birthplace of many popular names in Fleftic motorsports, most notable among them being Nasser Nasri and his sons, Yasir and Hossem.

The biggest name behind this push for greater Oontaznik representation in motorsports is none other than HRH Prince Bismillah ibn Kudarat, First Deputy Minister of the Sultanate of Oontaz; Minister for Sports, Culture, and the Youth; and second son of HRH Sultan Kudarat ibn Hakeem the Sultan of Oontaz. HRH Prince Bismillah is a devoted follower of motorsports and is also a racing driver himself; he usually drives for his own Oonaftco Oontaz CGPRA Team in the Coalition Grand Prix Racing Association, but upon the formation of the Atlantian Oceania Competitive Auto Racing Grand Prix Series (AOGP), HRH Prince Bismillah decided to enter that particular competition as well, and he came very close to winning the series' inaugural championship as well had it not been for a poor showing at the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course for the final race of the first AOGP season. Despite this setback though, HRH Prince Bismillah has announced that he will be returning to AOGP alongside his friend and long-time driving partner Edmundo Ximenes.

The Oonaftco Oontaz NSSCRA Team was formed by HRH Prince Bismillah in late 2031 in order to provide a means by which he can attract NSSCRA to race on Oontaznik shores. NSSCRA rules had stated that any nation wishing to enter a track into the competition must have at least one actively participating team as well, and with HRH Prince Bismillah intending to enter the Rowell Salcedo Commemorative Racing Circuit into NSSCRA to boost travel and tourism revenues in the Kota Nibabalu area, HRH The Prince had to form an Oontaznik team in order for NSSCRA to consider the Kota Nibabalu circuit for inclusion into its 12th season schedule. Aside from this, the official purpose of the Oonaftco Oontaz NSSCRA Team is to provide young and promising Oontaznik drivers with a stable platform in which they can hone their driving skills while competing against the top stock car prospects of the multiverse, and then use this platform to jump into other racing series such as the Abanhfleft Racing Truck Series or the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series if they so choose. For the first season of the Oonaftco Oontaz NSSCRA Team, two prospects, one each from the Sultanate of Oontaz and the Ma-I Free State, have been chosen by HRH Prince Bismillah himself to drive for the team. Here are their biographies.

#50 - Tawfiq Chouchane
Age: 18 years old
Place of birth: Zama, Sultanate of Oontaz

Tawfiq Chouchane is the younger brother of Oontaznik footballer Reda Chouchane. Having grown up in the shadow of the Zama Superspeedway in the suburbs of the Oontaznik capital Manitogoro, it was perhaps no surprise that Tawfiq wanted to become a racing driver when he grew up. His family would have probably supported him in his dreams no matter what though, but it seemed as if getting Tawfiq behind the wheel of a racing car had become a priority once older brother Reda had decided that he wanted to become a footballer instead despite having grown up just a few blocks away from the Sultanate's one and only superspeedway. Having said that, it was actually difficult getting Tawfiq into anything bigger than karts before HRH Prince Bismillah paid a visit to one such race and took notice of Tawfiq. HRH The Prince would then invite Tawfiq to join the Prince's team in the ARTS Rising Stars Cup, and two years later, Tawfiq would be selected to drive for Oonaftco Oontaz NSSCRA Team. Not bad for a boy from the capital's suburbs.

#72 - Zacarias Policarpio
Age: 20 years old
Birthplace: General Santos City, Sao Paulo do Sarangani, Ma-I Free State

Zacarias, or Zac for short, started off as a street racer. But he wasn't part of those massive underground street racing leagues shown in movies or video games. No, he and his friends were just your typical bored young adults who liked to get an adrenaline rush once in a while. Of course, the time came when Zac and his friends had just a little too much fun and the local police had to step in. Video of Zac's high speed chase in the narrow streets of General Santos City went viral, and one of those who saw it was none other than HRH Prince Bismillah. HRH The Prince then decided that such talent could not be allowed to go to waste and, as soon as Zac had serviced his community service time, HRH The Prince offered Zac a ride with the Oonaftco Oontaz ARTS Team in the Rising Stars Cup. Impressive results in the second half of last season prompted HRH Prince Bismillah to put Zac in the second car of the Oonaftco Oontaz NSSCRA Team.

What do you get when you put together Saudi Arabia and the Philippines? Why, Oontaz, I hope!
I hear Atlantian Oceania Arrosia is good this time of the year.

The Duisdorf Motorworks Corporation arrived at the NationStates Stock Car Racing Association without much fanfare from the rest of the grid. After an entire season of teasing an entry, when the time came for Duisdorf to finally officially enter its first ever race in NSSCRA, specifically the Exhibition at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, not much press outside of Abanhfleft paid any attention to them. Most of the coverage fell on the newcomers from the likes of Esmerel, Kannap, Kharao, Qzvarkian Qaz, and the time-shifted French Army. Duisdorf and Koshiro Kawai flew under the radar for the Exhibition and the build-up to the Tundra Falls 500.

And that was exactly how Albert Rasmussen wanted it.

“Let them focus on the other newcomers all they want,” Rasmussen, the team principal of Duisdorf Motorworks Racing, said to the team at the end of the Exhibition where Kawai had finished 29th, not necessarily good but also definitely not bad for a NSSCRA first-timer. At least, this was the first time that Kawai was actually participating in NSSCRA as a championship-chasing driver as opposed to an open charter entry. “We will all fly underneath their noses, and then before they know it, we’ve established ourselves as a competitive entry in this competition, and then they’ll pay attention to us!”

For his part, Koshiro Kawai was a little bit more skeptical that Duisdorf would be able to make as big of an impact on NSSCRA this season as UrGa did when that team first came into the NSSCRA scene. For one thing, UrGa had the benefit of having three drivers (two guaranteed charters and one must-qualify) in their corner when they were starting out, but because of NSSCRA’s country-based charter rules, Duisdorf only had one charter to use, and that was the one that Koshiro now had. Those three drivers (Archer, Cärinthen, and Baxter) could team up and help each other out when needed, but as a single-charter driver, Koshiro didn’t have anyone whom he could reliably expect to help him move through the field. Well, he could always ask for help from his fellow Fleftic drivers (although strictly speaking, Yudin was not Fleftic but Ceroatian, although he did now hold Fleftic citizenship as well thanks to the help of his manager-slash-mentor Guillermo Archer) but the Duisdorf management might not agree to it given the rivalry between the two teams in the Abanhfleft Racing Truck Series. He could ask for help from the other drivers but the bosses might not like it as well because they wantèd to present Duisdorf as a self-sufficient team that didn't need help from anyone else. Of course, there was a chance that Koshiro could talk Rasmussen into letting him draft with other drivers, but for the moment, Koshiro Kawai would have to carry Duisdorf to fame and fortune all by himself.

"The superspeedway has beaten you again, huh?" asked Koshiro's crew chief Teofisto Jalobillo. Jalobillo had been Koshiro's crew chief ever since the latter had first driven for Duisdorf, but despite that, Jalobillo's Olistan accent was still sometimes too thick for Koshiro to understand. "What was that?" Koshiro asked.

"I said it looks like the superspeedway has beaten you again, Koshiro," Jalobillo repeated.

“Yeah, about that,” Koshiro nodded. “It must be the car. I’m not usually this trash in a superspeedway like Olistan or Selid. Then again, neither of those tracks are anything like Tundra Falls so…” Koshiro shrugged. “Maybe it is me. But I’d like to see if it’s the car first, and then if it’s not, that’s when I'll start to worry.”

“Hah!” Jalobillo snorted. “Luckily for you, you’re going to get another bite of the cherry here at Tundra Falls. You already know how this new car of yours operates under these conditions, so you should be able to dial in the setup that you actually want by now. If it works, then we know that it’s definitely the car. If it doesn’t, well… we definitely have a lot more work to do,” the crew chief added as he patted Koshiro’s shoulder sympathetically.

“That’s very comforting,” Koshiro muttered in a tone that suggested that he did not derive any comfort from it at all.

“Nobody said that this was going to be easy, yes?”

“I know, I know. I just had slightly higher expectations of myself than this. And before you ask, I’ve already lowered them before the Exhibition even started.”

Koshiro thought that he had made a fairly good showing of himself once the qualifying session for the Tundra Falls 500 had come to an end. 21st place. Not the best that he could have achieved, that much he knew, but it was also definitely not bad at all. Koshiro still had a few issues with driving a stock car as opposed to the racing trucks that was the bread and butter of Duisdorf Motorworks, but he felt confident enough in his own ability to adapt that he didn’t mind starting smack dab in the middle of the field. There were definitely lots of opportunities for him to get or give a draft to move himself through the field.

That was the plan anyway. But it didn’t look like it was working out very well for Koshiro. The problem with being a newcomer was that he hadn’t made any friends or even just contact with the other more established drivers. He was also a bit wary about trying to get some help from the other newcomers because he hadn’t seen them driving in NSSCRA before and he wasn’t sure how well they drove in a pack. The end result of it was that Koshiro practically remained rooted in the same place where he had started this race, however mostly in the low 20s except for a mistimed pit stop that pushed him all the way down to 29th near the end of the race. Koshiro pulled off a few overtakes to salvage a better result, but in the end, all he could do was 26th place. Once again, not the best that he knew that he could do, but in the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t the worst result he could have gotten as well. The same couldn’t be said for a certain boyfriend of the defending NSSCRA champion though, but aside from checking that Drake Stevenson was okay, Koshiro wasn’t really that concerned with anyone else’s races. He needed to worry about himself first before anyone else.

Sports really could be an unpredictable thing sometimes. Agata Kosaryova had drawn some comfort from that particular realization when she once again went another season of NSSCRA without a win in the Everlong Series under her belt. She wanted that win for a lot of reasons, and one of those reasons was for pure pride. She wanted to have a NSSCRA race win to her name, plain and simple. The other reason was so she didn’t have to worry about pushing herself or her machine to the absolute limit and beyond just to get enough points to get herself into the Chase. Race winners during the regular season were immediately assured of a spot in the Playoff Chase, which is why winning was such a big deal for everyone. Gasha understood that just like everyone else, and so she had done everything she could to get that first NSSCRA win, sometimes with a little help from her old teammate Rustam Yudin. But there was usually something that prevented her from getting that first dub last season. Oftentimes it was her car which failed her, but sometimes there were outside factors that held Gasha back, things such as a botched pit stop or making contact with someone who was wrecking. Bad luck just seemed to dog Gasha last season, and when she had had a mediocre showing at the Prospect Showcase to start off the new Everlong season, she had been prepared to accept that she was headed for another season of mediocrity.

So when she crossed the finish line ahead of everybody else at the end of the Tundra Falls 400, she was probably the one most surprised out of everyone who had watched that race.

When Gasha started the Tundra Falls 400 in 33rd place, nobody, not even her, would have thought that she would be the one leading everyone else at the end of the race. Gasha herself had already resigned herself to another forgettable weekend in Newmanistan when she got behind the wheel of the #40 Luxur, and she had barely even broken into the 20s when the first official wreck of the new season happened in the front of the pack. “Calhoun has blown a tire! He’s spilling rubber everywhere! Keep an eye out for him, Gasha,” spotter Galina Ossipenko cautioned her driver.

“Don’t worry, I see it, I see it,” Gasha reported as she dropped down to the apron to avoid the chaos of spun cars happening in the lanes above her. However, while Gasha may have been able to dance around the wreck itself, her new teammate Ganglie Zhe was not as fortunate. As the UrGa-supported RouBax Racing Enterprises entry was running in the middle of the field, the Pridnestrovian-born Chinese driver had less time to react to the crash, and his #42 car was one of those collected by the incident. Zhe’s car didn’t appear to have suffered significant damage during the incident, but all of his attempts to restart the engine failed, and thus that was the reason he had to bow out of the race.

Daryl Calhoun’s wreck and the resulting caution mixed up the field somewhat, and a remarkably quick pit stop on the part of her crew allowed Gasha to climb up a number of places that she didn’t think she would have been able to do out on track. This, and the realization that maybe there was still some time for her to get something more out of this race, was perhaps the kick in the butt that Gasha needed to get herself out of the funk that she had been in the past week or so and actually fight for a result. While she didn’t tear through the field as quickly as some of her contemporaries would have done, Gasha understood that there was a time for taking big risks, and this was not one of them. She would commit to only one or two overtakes per lap, with the occasional three-car overtake here and there. Eventually, Gasha somehow found herself driving without other cars in front of her, and she was so surprised by this turn of events that she had to ask if she was actually leading the race.

“Yes, Gasha, you are leading the race!” Galina Ossipenko replied to her. “We are racing for position now! Don’t let anyone else get ahead of you! It’s on!”

“Okay! I got it!” Gasha said.

Gasha would then hold off advances from the likes of Lexi Patterson, a veteran of NSSCRA but a newcomer in terms of both the Everlong Series and her new team Skip Stiller Speedworks, and Kaarina Salo, a literal newcomer to NSSCRA, to nab her very first win in the competition, and at such a historic race as well. Never in her entire time in NSSCRA had she imagined that she would ever win at a classic track like the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, but now it was a reality. And she was so close to giving up on it as well. If it hadn’t been for the wreck, Gasha wouldn’t have had the chance to move up places thanks to her quick pit stop, so in a way, Daryl Calhoun crashing was what motivated Gasha to get the win. Some might think that that was a bit sick, but that was how Gasha’s mind worked that day. She stood on the roof of her car on victory lane (a classic stock car racing tradition), then she stood on top of the podium above Salo and Patterson (a tradition from open-wheel racing that had carried over to NSSCRA because of the multiversal nature of the competition) to congratulate them both on a good race before spraying each other with champagne.

And then, when Gasha got back to her garage surrounded by members of her crew, she was surprised to see her friend and crew chief Karolina Kazimirova waiting for her with a sly smile on her face. “Oh, no,” Gasha said. “Don’t tell me you remembered the bet!”

“Of course I remembered, Gasha!” Kazimirova replied. “Time to drink up!” she added as she revealed the bottle of Mang Dolfo’s All-Purpose Sauce that she had been hiding behind her back.

Bozhe moy,” Gasha said. “Why did I even agree to any of this?”

“It was your idea, if I remember correctly,” Kazimirova said.

It had been a few years since the two of them had had that particular conversation. It was around the time that Gasha and her fellow UrGa works team driver David Clarke had been driving in the Everlong Series for the Oontaznik outfit Persephone Racing. Their results that time were absolutely piss-poor (mostly because Persephone had absolutely no idea how to run a racing team), and back then Gasha had been under the impression that she would never be able to make a name for herself in NSSCRA. The two of them had been joking around with that particular fact, and in a moment without any sort of forethought whatsoever, Gasha had told Kazimirova that if the day came that Gasha finally won a race in NSSCRA, she would drink an entire bottle of Mang Dolfo’s All-Purpose Sauce in front of the whole garage. That was how sure she had been back then that she wouldn’t be anywhere near the top 10 of the Everlong Series.

Of course, things had changed since then. UrGa had taken over Persephone Racing’s entire operations and was now basically running Gasha’s team in Everlong, and with the switch from “Persephones” to actual Luxurs came an improvement in results. Gasha’s former teammate Rustam Yudin (who was now racing in the Multiversal Series to replace the retired Guillermo Archer) had actually won two races in Everlong before his Chase campaign petered out and he was eliminated in the second round of the Chase. And before this particular Tundra Falls 400, Gasha had come close to winning a number of times but could never jump that final hurdle and claim the checkered flag. In the intervening time, Gasha had forgotten all about her bet to drink an entire bottle of Mang Dolfo’s Sauce, and now that bet was coming back to haunt her.

Gasha didn't have any issues with Mang Dolfo's or their range of condiments. In fact, she loved the stuff. The only real issue she had with the bet was that she had to drink an entire bottle of All-Purpose Sauce. It was just like drinking an entire bottle of ketchup or boat of gravy; it wasn't the usual way of consuming these things. But since Karolina had already shoved the bottle of All-Purpose Sauce into Gasha's hands, she had no choice but to go ahead with it. She unscrewed the white plastic cap from the bottle, lifted it into the air as if she was doing a toast, and then she said, "To future victories!" before she finally put the bottle to her lips and began to chug it down. It took her a few minutes to down the contents of the entire bottle since the All-Purpose Sauce was only slightly thinner in consistency than gravy, but in the end, Gasha was able to do it. With one last gulp, Gasha downed the last remaining drops of All-Purpose Sauce from the bottle and she smashed the now-empty bottle on the ground to cheers from her crew.

"And before anyone asks, no, I will not be doing this again the next time that I win!" Gasha immediately clarified. "Not even if Mang Dolfo himself asks me to!" She then walked off to find some water to wash away the taste of the sauce in the back of her throat.

Igor Shivahklin was on his local library's computer. Looking up IRACT, he had discovered he could enter one of their races and qualify for the 2nd NASCAR race.

More important to Igor, he could get revenge on his rival Yegeny Qabaliq. The story of this rivalry goes back two years when Qabaliq was a part time driver and Shivahklin was a Homebrew racer. The Circuit Buzbeq-Olymnysk was a flowing hilly circuit northwest of Olymnysk. In a particular race a few years back, Qabiliq had to start in the rear as he was making his way up through the slower homebrew cars Yegeny came upon Shivahklin. Shivahklin left him room on Qabaliq's outside. Suddenly going into one of the fast sweeping turns Qabaliq struck the side of Shivahklin's car and the both went of course at high speed.

The one thing about the track that you need to was, that the track was surrounded by dirt embankments both cars went careening to the embankments, Qabaliq's hit the embankment and rested on it but poor poor Shivahklin,'s car tumbled over the edge to the point thoght he had ended up in Valladares, the neighboring nation to the north.

He never forgave Qabaliq for the incident. The car was totaled and the scrap dealer from Yzvn was out for the remainder of the year. He never forgave Qabaliq, and it's a shame too because if he ad listened to Yegeny he would have known it was brake failure that caused the Qabaliq car to crash into him.

But now, now he was out for revenge!

He printed off his paper and went to the post office, Mr Shivahkin was off to The Sherpa Empire to do some racing...

Team Tropicorp Spotters Guide: Tumbra Falls 500

#1 Maddie Alexander :: Tropicorp #1 in Tires
#2 Centur Tiones :: Tiones Lumber / Cocoa-bo
#3 Jenna Logan :: Dagan Airways
#28 - Cocoabo #28 :: twii.tur / CPS

Tundra Falls 500, Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Newmanistan :: It was a thrilling start to the NSSCRA 12 season for Team Tropicorp and its new look 1-2-3 driver roster including Maddie Alexander, Centur Tiones and Jenna Logan. In addition to the three full time drivers, Team Tropicorp had a fourth entry in the lineup for the Tundra Falls 500 in the form of Cocoabo #28. After four full time seasons on the Multiversal Cup Series circuit the Cocoabo driver would be shifted to a more purposeful schedule with the hope still of winning races for the team without the grind of the full season effort. The four Team Tropicorp drivers worked together from start to finish and could rarely be found more than a car length or two away from each other on track. Each of the four Team Tropicorp entries ran the race on the same strategy pitting in on the same lap and working together to maintain speed and pace on the out laps from any required service.

Come the end of the race the Team Tropicorp drivers found themselves in the thick of the lead group but were following the Jaguar Racing Darts of Michael Stefan and Alfonso Mercado. In the end it was not enough as they would be shuffled back just outside the Top 5. Last Season's Tundra Falls 500 Pole Sitter Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal would win the race becoming the second Sherpa driver to do so after Kai Qiang's victory in the event during NSSCRA Season 9. Zakhilwal would narrowly edge out Sage Caldwell, the former Glorious Free Republic motorsport driver who had found a new home with the Direwolf Auto Team and taking long time sponsors Blood Moon Beer and QED Car Rentals with him. For Team Tropicorp it would be Jenna Logan at the front of the train in the #3 Dagan Airways Hybrid Dart and crossing the line in 7th pace followed by Centur Tiones, making their debut for Team Tropicorp and driving the #2 Tiones Lumber Hybrid Dart. Finally, finishing just outside the Top 10 it would be Maddie Alexander in the #1 Tropicorp Tires Hybrid Dart. Cocoabo #28 who had been working with the trio for much of the event got shuffled slightly further back but still posted a Top 20 finish in the race.

While Cocoabo #28 was the lowest finishing of the four Team Tropicorp drivers in the Tundra Falls 500 at 17th place, it was still considered a strong performance for the team who will now pivot their focus to the Ramba Test Track in the Sherpa Empire. Team Tropicorp is expecting to bring a large contingent to the TMW race weekend with three Cocoabo drivers on hand to compete in the feeder event, the TMW 400. In addition to Team Tropicorp's official part time driver Cocoabo #28, the team is also expected to field entries for Cocoabo #78 who drives for the team full time on the AOCAR Stock Car Series circuit, and Cocoabo #23 the World Grand Prix Championship driver who will be attempting something out of their comfort zone on the short oval in Rinbung County. Historically Cocoabo drivers have excelled on the longer courses where their driving talent could shine through but the TMW Ramba Test Track will be a different kind of obstacle to overcome. With nothing to lose, however, the Cocoabo drivers can go all out in the search for a trophy no matter the opposition that stands in front of them.

OOC: I'd like to thank Saint Kanye for the opportunity.

Chokpori Inn, Lhasa, The Sherpa Empire

Ilya Vadimovich Tsunopin sighed in relief, as his limousine arrived in front of his hotel for the week just about eleven in the night. New day, new race, new me, Ilya thought as he came to look at the beautiful, clear, cold night skies of Lhasa, modern, beautifully-built city located in the Tibetian highlands of Sherpaland.

Over the twenty years of his own life, Ilya had visited many places across the world, from the Diarcesian deserts to hilly highlands of the Licentian Isles. His own career as a racedriver, as well as the future corporate business leader of his native land of 69X in Sonnel, had meant that his life's path, no matter how easy or difficult, were going to involve travelling to places. The young man held abundance of wealth, ease in comfort and taste for thrill, and everything was going to be good. And yet, he didn't expect to end up in the Sherpaland, one of the most beautiful countries out in the Multiverse, but to Tibet of all places.

But really, can you believe it? Me, Ilya the Wildman, in middle of Tibet? Amazing feeling! Ilya raised his hands in glee, as he swallowed the fumes of his cigar. It was a special feeling that he, the only Sixty-ninE Xer in all of Esportiva, was not really able to explain in very words beyond the usual gees and glees and the awkward phrases, as he thought of the list of possibilities that were going to come up in the very race week, as well as a possible week's extension into the stay.

And now, I will be able to race alongside my idol, whose racing has given me the hopes for so many years... Ilya then took out the cigar from his mouth, and twirled around a couple of times in circles. While Ilya, the man of all trades, had a brilliant manager in Dr. Balthazar Grey helping out, this was an opportunity that he had not imagined coming at all. Not everybody race the NSSCRA and the WGPC, and there's a bit of that worry in switching the codes that Ilya, even with his love of racing, ended up not discussing the said possibility to first place.

Fortunately, his love of speed, flashy lifestyle, and flash clothes with the power ranger mask, hot pink firesuit and rainbow coat, were more than enough to draw the attention of Gale Force Racing, whose Kanyean expertise were famous in the stock racing world. And to make it better, it was going to be at the very racetrack where the Holy Kai Qiang was going to be the hometown favourite. One of the worst secrets out in the international racing circuit, even considering his relative stature, was the level of adoration (and other sentiments) held for the driver, and there was a strong trail of words that followed through him. Some of them came in the forms of NSSCRA romance novels he had read and written, and others had come in the forms of the fan letters he had never sent it to Kai Qiang, in the fear of having to reveal the contents. Ilya loved fantasies and getting ideas out, but maybe that was too much.

But those were the teenage days of teenage headache dreams, and while the Sonnelian knew there were still limitations he had to fce on his own, he also knew that nothing was impossible. He was now a IRACT driver and the world are now his too.

Hearts are meant to be conquered.... smiled Ilya, as he watched his manager and friend, Dr. Balthazar Grey, come out of the limousine. Of course, whether he was ready for the challenge or not...remains to be seen.

The Ramba Test Track can be used two different ways -- a 0.7 mi route that runs up the side of a mountain at the north end of the track, or a 0.4 mi route that is more or less flat. The TMW 400 uses the shorter layout and the TMW 500 uses the longer one. NSSCRA and IRACT are visiting Ramba earlier than usual this year, but a record number of teams still braved the cold mountain air to take their shot at stock car racing glory.

But the more things change, the more they stay the same. Kemal Shalhoub, a.k.a. Captain Kebab, IRACT's most notorious backmarker suffered a mechanical failure during qualifying and had to be towed off the track.

Information about Ramba and the surrounding area can be found here.

Hankou Coronavirus Travel Advisory

Thanks to the diligent work of the Sherpa Ministry of Health, the Hankou coronavirus is well-contained and your risk of exposure is low. There are no reports of community spread in southern Tibet, the Capital District, or Nepal. However, we must remain vigilant. The virus is still spreading out of control just across the northern border in China, and there have been cases in Sichuan and northern Tibet linked to illegal border crossings.

All international travelers will be tested for coronavirus upon arrival in the Sherpa Empire, regardless of your method of travel or port of entry. Anyone who tests positive will be required to quarantine under IHS supervision. Testing will also be available at the Ramba Test Track, most major hotels, and any hospital in Sherpaland. All visitors are required to download the IHS contact tracing app. If you do not have a smartphone, you will be able to rent one from the IHS for the duration of your stay. IHS-issued phones also come with a translation app, GPS navigation, and Imperial United phone service. You will not be able to download other apps or files besides the ones that are pre-installed. If you have an IHS phone, you will be required to return it at airport security when you leave the country.

The Ministry of Health has approved the TMW 400 and 500 to go ahead as scheduled. However, visitors are encouraged to wear face masks, and some activities such as TMW factory tours will run at reduced capacity to mitigate the health risks. As usual, the race weekend will include outdoor concerts and yak racing. Some performers have asked not to allow backstage visitors and some yak handlers have expressed concern about working closely with riders. We know yak racing is a fan favorite, but please respect the wishes of any yak handlers who do not want to work with international visitors or first-time riders. Track staff will assist you if you need help finding a yak handler who is willing to work with you.

On behalf of the Sherpa Ministry of Health: have fun, stay safe, and good luck to everyone who is racing in Ramba.

The new look Gale Force Racing team had a "fun race" at the latest edition of the Tundra Falls 500, if one of its members Thea Alvarez was to be believed. Asked to clarify by reporters, who were a little confused seeing as neither Thea nor her teammates were in contention for the win all race long, the young Yeezie racer stated: "Oh. 'Fun' was an acronym. Let me tell you what it actually stood for in our case:

Forgettable.

Unremarkable.

Nothing to write home about."

It was true. Thea led only three laps, all of them during pit cycles, on the way to a 16th place finish. Jeremiah Brooke, winner of last week's Exhibition at the same track, and one of his best tracks if previous results were any indication, led only two and took 19th. Stacie Houston led zero and brought up the rear for GFR at 22nd. Not bad, one could say, and they would technically be correct. But is it good? For a team of GFR's reputation, not at all.

Image

"We're gonna do our best to improve on this outcome," Jeremiah said when it was his turn to be interviewed. "Stock answer, I know, but what else could I say? That's always been our mindset whenever we get finishes we're disappointed with. Let's just talk about those who actually did something of note, shall we? Congrats to Rinzi [Aogar Zakhilwal], dude went winless and missed the Chase last season, but now he's back with a vengeance. As for Sage [Caldwell], so close again, bro, but that just goes to show what he can be capable of, even in a different team. Who knows, maybe he can finally break through this season." "Yeah, I agree," added his wife and teammate Stacie. "Also, I'm really glad that Drake [Stevenson] was alright. Scary wreck he was in, and if not for that, he could have very well challenged for the dub today, just as he did last week when he gave us lots of trouble trying to pass him up front."

At the end of the presser, the GFR trio were heading back to their garage when they saw another person slumped just by the sign outside, apparently having tripped on the wires on the ground. The firesuit and mask told the trio that this was Lam Chow-Cheung, one of this season's rookies, driving for the Huuhkajat Moottoriurheilu team out of Kimi-Suomi. Thea moved the wires and the sign aside, saying "Ugh, those crew members should really be more careful about how they set this stuff up," just as Jeremiah took one look at the downed Lam, extended an arm and spoke, "Dude, you alright?"

Races in Sherpaland are somewhat different from others in the NSSCRA schedule, due to the fact that in recent seasons, the open charters for them are determined through a qualifying race. The finest drivers in IRACT, the Sherpa stock car series, compete with racers from several NSSCRA member countries like Abanhfleft, Vilita and Turori, and of course St. Kanye. Here's how the Yeezie delegation did at the TMW 400, the qualifier for the TMW 500, both in Ramba:

#1 Jill Singletary
DNQ

Jill, one of the three drivers from GFR's AOCAR division, had the 46th fastest time in quals, but as the field size for the 400 was only 45, she would be the first to miss the show. "Well, that sucks," she said. "I really need to work hard and improve, especially since I'm also aiming for the AOCAR Chase this season."

#18 Gavin Ogden
Start: 12th End: 36th (DNF)

Reigning AOCAR runner-up Gavin had a solid start to the race, but found himself in the middle of a pileup not even halfway through. "Is it just me, or do the racers race way more aggressively here in Sherpaland? See, this guy hit that guy, who then hit me, and then just as I was about to save it, another guy hit some other guy, who also hit me," he explained. Fortunately, he was unhurt.

#36 Glen Reid
Start: 17th End: 22nd

"Not our best run, but at least we got off some useful practice before the start of the AOCAR season," said Glen, trying to think of positives to get from a performance as stale as what his Cup Series counterparts had at the Tundra Falls 500. "Oh yeah, and at least we got to see the natural beauty of Pharak."

#69 Max Gannon
Start: 20th End: 18th

"Ha, still got it," said the 71-year-old part owner of GFR's Everlong Series affiliate Skip Stiller Speedworks shortly after the race. The fact that his vehicle was able to make it until the end in one piece, and in the top twenty at that, was a sign that Max still keeps his driving skills sharp despite his age. (He needs glasses though, but hey, so does the much younger Taylor Henderson.)

#88 Ilya Tsunopin
Start: 23rd End: 6th

Despite falling four places short of an open charter (runner-up, like the winner, gets one), it's not the end of the road for GFR's new international recruit. The team have expressed an interest in signing Tsunopin as their R&D driver and reserving a spot for him in future races. The car will be renumbered 45, which means its hauler will be parked conveniently between the 46 of Thea and the 44 of Kai Qiang, Tsunopin's idol.

the big bird flys out of Qariq

Yeginy and the team had flown in on their personal freight aircraft. The old bird was a vintage 1970s CosMaq CFC-100, a big bird she was old but also affordable. For what the team needed getting from place to place, she was a fine bird. They hoped some day during the season to upgrade their aircraft, but for now they were flying the "Ol' Bird". They landed safely in Lhasa but they were definitely "behind the 8 ball" as people say. The Qabaliq car was caught up in the big wreck with Drake Stevenson and the Frenchie and the team had to spend a lot of time to return the car to the track. The team lost one car when in the exhibition race Qabaliq had spun off the bumper of Kelly Monroe and went briefly airborne, the entire rear end of the car was destroyed from the landing and the team had to use the backup for the full race. Then in the race Qabaliq and Kelly Monroe were racing together again like they had prior when ahead Drake Stevenson and Murat were racing. They collided and Stevenson and Murat drifted down the track hooked on each other, meanwhile in the back Qabaliq and Monroe checked up for the wreck. Well Monroe checked up at least. Qabaliq tried to check up, only to remember the team had installed lead weights in the car in hopes of keeping it down. This made the car heavier and much harder to stop. He ran into the back of Monroe and a mess ensued behind the main wreck.

Now the team was a day behind everyone and most teams came a few days early. They landed in Lhasa and before they unloaded. Team owner Artur Ogashvilli announced before the race the entire twenty man team had to meet in the hauler. The hauler was a spacious 16 wheeler that had a huge cabin the size of a small luxury hotel room. The entire 20 man team was crowded in the back of the truck with the two drivers taking the truck off the plane and into a platform. As the team sat around and listen to another eyerollingly rousing speech by Artur. Suddenly there was a a loud noise. "Chukka Chukka Chukka Chukka Chukka....." Timo Szaba looked out his window looking for the noise above him and suddenly he noticed a Helicopter above hooking the entire truck, lifting it up in the air.

"Ah yes, sorry guys, I needed you in here for that reason boys, I figured we'd get our truck over there quicker by by Helicopter. Hope you guys aren't afraid of flying."

Soon the race team was seen hovering over the track they hovered over their trailer stall, and unfortunately right next to Team Blue's hauler. The breeze from the blades of the copter knocked all the tents surrounding the hauler over. Thankfully all of team was away as the lift took place during practice.

But needless to say between this and the two wrecks in Newmanistan, it's been a rough three weeks for the QQZ in the eyes of some of their competitors.

But hey, they at least use showers regularly.

We are an attempt at an over the top Central Asian style dictatorship with our influences being mainly Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Most policies and stats are cannon, but issues are picked with the craziest or most dictator friendly option in mind. All policies are considered cannon aside from Geronticide.

Some may say that the EverLong Series is off to a bit of a weird start, almost like the results were being generated by a computer and whatever random forces exist are deciding to have a little fun. After two races, Daryl Calhoun is almost inexplicably at the bottom of the points. We know that he is a great race car driver and he will use this early hole to provide a little more motivation to get his season going. Other drivers seen as being the best in the series have had at least one tough race that, for now, sees them in the middle of the pack of the points. If you have been consistent, then chances are you are near the top. After two races, for Rocket Motorsports drivers to be second (Dwight Webster) and fourth (Ryan Carroll) in the points is creating a lot of excitement back at the shop in Tundra Falls.

You expect our drivers to run pretty well at the Proving Grounds, and that would be the case. But with the Kharao 900, it was also expected that our drivers would probably sink a little bit. That did not happen, with Carroll finishing seventh and Webster eighth. Carroll led twelve laps during the middle portion of the race, and it wasn’t because of different pit cycles. At that point in the race, he legitimately had the fastest car out on the track. Eventually, he was passed by a few drivers but did exit his car feeling really good about the way things went. “That was fun,” he said, “we really had a great car and it really took to this track very well. Happy for everyone that worked on this car, and then to see Dwight run so well. I hope we can keep this up, racing is a lot more fun when you are at the front of the field.”

We don’t know if this will carry over into the Multiversal series, yet. It didn’t really do a lot at the Proving Grounds opener, but a little bit of momentum is a good thing. When that happens early in the season, you continue to think positive. Rocket Motorsports even had two drivers compete in the TMW 400, and there were positives that could be taken from that. Derek Harwood finished the day with a top ten, placing eighth and Travis Barkley qualified on the outside pole. Unfortunately for Barkley, when running in the third position early and trying to put a lap on Xanneria’s Ryan Ridge, Ryan’s right front gave way, sending him into the wall and leaving Barkley with nowhere to go, ending his day. These are more positives that the team will take.

Qualifying for the TMW 500 was not terrible, with Liangmei Li starting 20th and Ashley Matthews 24th. Chelsea Taylor, however, starts 44th. Ashley Matthews joked in a pre-race interview that, “Thea Alvarez even noticed that I had an extra skip to step for this race coming up that she is not used to seeing from me, when we were back at the hauler. We’re going in the right direction this year. I think we can sense it.”
