Kali Yuga Presents…
RULES OF NATURE

Out here only the strong survive!

Rules of nature!

Water. One oxygen atom with two hydrogen atoms bound to it. A vital reagent of human culture, society, and existence: of human life itself. The first civilisations of mankind formed along the banks of rivers, supplying humanity’s cradles with an abundant supply of fresh water to water their crops and quench their thirst. It has also formed the foundation of the world’s mightiest nations, as the world’s oceans and seas have effectively become highways for trade routes criss-crossing the deep blue.

And as with anything vital to human existence, it has become a cause for war.

At the border between Sugogo and Bashriyya lies Lake Sugogo, a large lake containing massive water reserves. In 2007, with Palmyian help, the government of Sugogo embarked on a project to build a large number of irrigation canals, therefore draining water from the lake, hence depriving Bashriiyan side of water. Diplomatic protests from Bashriiya were countered with claims that since most of the lake is on the Sugogian side, Sugogo can do what it wants with it.

Sadr al-Din al Nasheed sees this as a perfect chance to come out of his father's shadow. He orders an invasion of Sugogo to seize the water and "punish the Sugogians for their transgressions".

The war had been nearly 15 years in the making at this point, and the Bashriiyans have started amassing at the border, especially now that an expansion to the initial irrigation network is currently underway…

Lake Sugogo, Sugogo

Sarah Schachner - Winds of Cyrene

The lake shone pristinely and brightly in the well-lit night, the sky illuminated brightly by sparkling stars and a waxing gibbous moon spared by the intense light pollution of the more populated southern half of Sugogo. A spillway station at the bank of the lake connected the lake to the rest of the irrigation system that ran further south, watering cities and farms connected to the Sugogian central irrigation system; this station, and the other neighbouring spillway station further west, regulated and monitored the flow of water from the lake and into the central canals, making sure the water was not horridly polluted. Smaller monitoring sites scattered around the lake, many of which were automated or remotely controlled, provided more data about water quality from other portions of the lake, on top of providing some sort of early warning to security: if one of them was physically tampered without prior notice, it would be a telltale sign of malicious intruders.

Such a rudimentary form of security, on top of the regular maintenance and security patrols that scoured the lake and guarding the stations and sites around it, was necessary, given the recent provocations by Bashriyya against Sugogo. Bashriyya outnumbered and outgunned Sugogo by almost an order of magnitude: Sugogo, with a population of 20 million, had at most 100,000 troops in its armed forces overall, and equipment modernisation was enacted and inaugurated only recently; it was fair to say that if Sadr al-Din al-Nasheed decided he'd go through with the invasion of Sugogo, it would beat Sugogo to the Moon and back mutliple times. Palmyrion and Sugogo, two nations with budding but promising relations, nonetheless believed in each other's capacity to fight in spite of all odds; the Royal Commonwealth stationed a few special operations units and advisers training their Sugogian counterparts on the modern art of warfare, with the Sugogians, in spite of being addled and being hampered by corruption and tribalism typical of an Afruikan country, learning from their Palmyrian counterparts keenly and studiously.

Celestina Hidalgo was by many standards a rookie among the ranks of Nilad Waterworks Corporation, a freshly-graduated chemical engineering student from the University of Palmyrion - Cebu. She had been looking for a job for the past year after she gained her Bachelorette of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from UP Cebu, and NWC was looking for engineers who would take up entry-level jobs in its rank and file. The application process was pretty run-of-the-mill for corporate applications anywhere: applications followed by interviews and then full employment...and Celestina chose an overseas deployment in an area of geopolitical contention both for the hazard pay and the opportunity to travel abroad. She had with her at most two weeks' worth of clothing, with 14 sets of field work clothing and 14 sets of house clothing more appropriate for leisurely activities.

Nighttime duty wasn't new to her, having worked night shifts as a cashier at her local fast food chain to pay for her college expenses. This was, however, an entirely new ball game apart from working night shifts at a local Joybee's, as it involved manually checking on one of the malfunctioning remote monitoring instruments scattered around the shores of the lake (at least those on the Sugogian side). She and three of her colleagues drove from their relatively comfy field base to the malfunctioning monitoring module on a Nifonese four-seater 4x4 pickup, the pickup riding smoothly on the wear-roughened gravel roads that traced the lake shores and between each automated monitoring station at the lake thanks to hydropneumatic suspension, with a local Sugogian AM radio station playing at the car's radio and the car's headlights illuminating the path forward. Unfortunately for them this malfunctioning instrumentation module was dangerously close to the border with Bashriyya, and this is the reason why they had pistols with them during such a trek: for the express purpose of self-defence. They would also have an armed escort consisting of local gunmen hired by Palmyrian PMC Griffin-Krugman Security Corporation (GKSC), with the armed escort, this time on a similar vehicle, taking point during the whole trek.

"We're here." a Sugogian colleague of hers said as he parked the car in front of a 20-foot intermodal container bolted into the ground, the container itself housing the instruments that monitored water quality in real time. This was connected via a fibre optic cable to a monitoring buoy floating well away from the shore and into the lake, the fibre-optic communications cable itself serving as one of two tethers that kept the buoy connected to the containerised instrumentation module (the other was a simple cable made of marine-grade Kevlar). They would reel the buoy back to shore while conducting diagnostics on the module itself, the buoy itself being inspected after the team was done with the containerised monitoring module. Once they had thoroughly combed the entire thing for malfunctioning parts and bits they would go on to fixing it, a process that could take almost two hours or more to complete, and it was already nighttime at a place near the border with Bashriyya. The armed escorts provided security overwatch while the NWC employees conducted their maintenance and diagnostic runs.

Halfway into performing diagnostics on both the buoy and the instrumentation module, their security complement hailed a suspicious armed contact coming from the Bashriyyan side of the border.

"Contact. Armed men coming this way." one of the security complement said to his commander. "Shall we hail them, or shall we get out of here?" he added.

"I'll hail them. We'll tell them we're providing security to engineers conducting field repairs on a malfunctioning monitoring module." the team leader replied, and hailed what could be a Bashriyyan military recon patrol coming their way.

Should the armed contact reply the security complement would then communicate that they were here to provide security to engineers performing repairs on a malfunctioning monitoring module. It was a ballsy move on the part of the security complement, but it was a necessary risk to take for the safety of their charge.

Psychotic Dictatorship

Postby Bashriyyan Arab Islamic Republic » Sun Jan 30, 2022 4:00 pm

10 years earlier

Hôtel de Sarzeau, Almurta

Real estate developer and investor Ronald Krump walked into the Hôtel de Sarzeau, alongside him was oil mogul George C. Dobbson from the Dobbson Oil Company a heavy-set man who wore a white suit and cowboy hat, both men were coming to interrupt the breakfast of a certain Arab heir Sadr al-Din al Nasheed son of the infamous Bashriyya dictator Muhammed Basil al-Nasheed. Sadr was sitting down in sun-chair by the pool in sun-glasses and his shirt off with two attractive Almurtan women massaging his feet and his back. He looked over and saw the two men in their fancy suits one wearing a cowboy hat, he could tell they meant business. He ordered the two women to leave as he put his shirt and shoes on.

"Mr. Nasheed, it's been a long time. Your old man he was great, huge, loved the guy." Ronald Krump snarked

"Ronald Krump. You party animal you. Who's your buddy here?" Nasheed responded

"Howdy, Mr. Nasheed the name is George C. Dobbson CEO of the Dobbson Oil Company." he put out his hand for a hand-shake. Nasheed accepted.

The three men sat down at a table. "You see the Inyurstan bombing of Bashriyyan oil fields was horrendous, we want to help you rebuild Bashriyyan oil resources." said Dobbson

Ronald Krump then said "You see your country is without proper leadership, they need a strong leader which I know you can provide with all of your political training. Your military prowess, your readings of Carl Scmitt, your a genius Nasheed, your not a fool like your father. I do not think our visions of the world are entirely the same but they are close."

Sadr scoffed "I was always in my father's shadow, I was in the army at 18 got out early and went to a special private school in Theedishland at my father's orders, I know the Bashriyyan people. To them I'm just another Nasheed, not any different then the first. You know its funny, both my older and younger brother killed themselves. The older one died a martyr he suicide bombed himself against a group of guerillas that tried to capture him he used his own hand-grenade. The younger one killed himself because he did not think he was ready to take my father's place. My father politically killed himself, if I kill myself it won't be that I killed myself, it will be that I was murdered and it was made to look like a suicide."

Krump and Dobson looked at each other and looked back at Nasheed both men said "What?"

"It's a joke my friends, point is I'm not going to lead Bashriyya. Unless God himself gives me a sign."

Krump responded "Well my friend, you clearly do not know what polls and census have shown in Bashriyya, they are looking for a strong leader who will restore their economy and oil production. Someone who will expand Bashriyya and make wise decisions. They are looking for someone who guide their nation into the future. You see Sadr, I don't care about nations, I care about investments, money and your nation has money making potential. You know where to find me at my residence, and you have my number to call me."

10 hours later, Sadr was driving down the high-way, all of sudden the radio came on. It was some sort of anti-war radio program reporting on events going on in Bashriyya, describing how horrendously the Bashriyyan economy had been hurt. The growing Islamic, Socialist and Arab nationalist sentiment, the starving children, occasional factional fighting, and revanchist movements developing. Not only that, but the massive influx of Black Afruikans going into Bashriyya and being enslaved by Bashriyyan warlords. The country was in a bad state, Sadr tried to change the channel but it wouldn't change. He parked his car on the side of the road and got out and looked up at the sky. He then got back in and pulled out his phone.

"Ronald, its me Sadr I accept the job I'm going to try and run for office. But I will need your help which you already knew. Lets get things done."

Ronald Krump was joyed by the call, this man could care less about Bashriyya, he just needed a strong leader to help bring back development to the region.

Ronald and Sadr would then meet at the Krump Enterprises Tower.

Image

"Sadr, your great, your huge, your amazing. I really don't know a more amazing guy then you and you are it. You really are just that amazing. Sadr I loved your dad great guy, I love you too, your a really great guy, this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful, of prosperous friendship. We are going to make Bashriyya Great Again, we are going to make Bashriyya strong again, we are going to make Bashriyya safe again. And believe me we are going to do it."

Sadr shook his head in agreement with Ronald Krump, Krump's Haramunese son in law then came out Jared Khashoggi a very wealthy Haramunese Jew. "What we need from you Mr. Nasheed is to start a war and conquer resources in Sugogo, we recommend that you claim Sugogo is stealing water and then invade and gain more resources, our new business partner and lodge brother Will Bates lost a business deal since Palmyrion's corperations started entering Sugogo. We need the Palmoids out of Sugogo and we need you to to be the mane to chase them out. Can you do that for us?" Jared said rubbing his hands together in his covetousness. Jared was a short swarthy man, with prominent semitic features (most notably his nose)

Sadr smiled "Of course."

Also arriving at the meeting was former head of the World Assembly Health Organization, Antonio Fasci who had recently developed a new race specific bio-weapon that only targeted certain tribes blacks. He went all over Afruika sterilizing and killing whole villages under the guise of "vaccine testing" Also attendant was Basil al-Abub a nefarious intelligence agent and torture expert, alongside him the infamous and aging Dr. Joseph Greenbaum (Known as the Angel of Death and Dr. Death by some)

Present day
Sadr had managed to solidify power, and now Bashriyyan infrastructure, its oil and its resources and its military were all back in order. Bashriyya was a capable war-machine now with an impressive military industrial complex.

"People of the world, the Government of Sugogo has for a long time been uncooperative, deceitful and has long been involved in a parasitic relationship without our countrie's water, We have proven without any doubt that parasitic plutocracy led by the infidels of Palmyrion through the Nilad Waterworks Corporation has come to exploit our water for what is obviously a plan to disrupt our nation's water supply. This is warfare against our people and our nation. Resource warfare, I demand that they stop construction of the Aqua ducts or Lake Sugogo will become Lake Bashriyya.

We will not tolerate our nation's resources being stolen from under our feet, we will make them pay for their transgressions against us. Mark my words Palmyrion, Sugogo. You are to cease construction of your illegal irrigation system or should I say irritation system or be destroyed. Listen my people of Bashriyya. Sugogo is parasitic stealing from us, stealing out water which is vital to our nation, Sugogo is also hurting the poor Tuareg, oh yes. The poor Tuareg are being ethnically cleansed and murdered by rogue factions in Sugogo and the Government does nothing about it. We truly are being violated by a violent and uncivilized people, we will take back Lake Sugogo if all else fails."

Sadr had planned the speech weeks in advance before he gave it, and Bashriyyan troops, commandos, spooks and government sponsored terrorists were all being geared up for the event.

A week after the speech

It was a fine day today... The birds were chirping and the sun was shining. Nothing seemed to be wrong on this fine day in Bashriyya. Especially in Sadr Nasheed's office.... Speaking of which...

"Hey, hey, hey! My man with the plan! How're you doin' on this fine day?" A rather stocky looking white man with a cowboy hat and flourishing light brown-hair, and what seems to be a little black box in his hands burst through the doors like it's no problem.
It was CEO Robert Cecil Huntley, a famed manager for the private military company, Cyclops International. A colorful man indeed wasn't afraid to show his presence. He seemed to act like Sadr Nasheed was his friend.

He sat down on one of the chairs, right next to Sadr's table.

"Was a pretty long trip, but I'm glad to see you again honestly." He said enthusiastically.

"Robby my nigga, you be gettin your feet wet out there?" Nasheed laughed, the room was filled with thick cigar smoke, Nasheed offered the Mercenary CEO a cigar "Stoagie my nigga?"

"Haha... Nah, I think I'll pass on that for now." Robert refused politely as he slightly toned down his enthusiasm.
To think a leader of a country would be speaking like he's some hoodlum that's been listening to too much Tupac...

"But I got somethin' for you, though. I didn't come empty handed." He put the little black box in his hand gently on the table.

"Inside there? There's a limited edition, exclusive, golden watch, that was made locally in Rhidea. Pure, grade-A, Afruikan gold we're talkin' about." Robert spoke passionately.

"Thank you Robert, that's quite the gift." Nasheed smiled suspecting an ulterior motive "Okay, Robbey what do you want?"
Nasheed was not easily played.

Robert sighed slightly as he rubbed his nose. It seems Nasheed was cutting the chit-chat and was heading straight to business, very well.

"Look... Uhm... I saw your speech live on TV and uh....

I figured you have a bit of a problem with your Sugogoan neighbors.

And frankly? I wanted to ask you not to do anything rash regarding the whole dispute."

"Well, you know how politics is, you talk a bunch of stuff to get the people riled up. But I want that Aqueduct
destroyed."

"Look... There is no need to destroy anything." That's a strange talk for a mercenary right there. Who would've thought? The mercenary that didn't want war.... That's pure irony right there.

"You see... My 'friends' and I would be very harmed if this conflict was indeed to happen." Who were these so-called friends of his? Nobody knew... But a lot of the times Robert was called a "municipal worker" for a reason.

"I'll pay you double as compensation and I'll give you a body of someone that was behind that and I'll do my best to limit them somehow." Quite a bit of promises stemmed from Robert's mouth. But the question is, would Nasheed believe them? Would it even be good for him to listen to what Robert has to say?

"Robby I don't believe you, I suggest you leave now." Nasheed got up

"Take your watch, I'm not easily bribed."

Nasheed said.

"Who is paying you now? Redshield?"

"Woah woah there, pal. No need to get so aggressive there." Robert got up as he had both of his palms raised defensively.

"Nobody's paying me, partner. I'm just doin' what's best for everyone else. And rash behavior? It ain't the best for everyone." Robert blatantly lied. But he was saying it like he meant it... Perhaps he's just a good liar, right?

Nasheed calmed down but he still didn't believe Robby, "Listen Robby, I would avoid going to war if someone could blow a hole in the Aqueduct."
He smiled, "The way I look at it, if someone destroys it the message would be sent and no war would break out."
"I doubt the Sugogans have the power projection capabilities to properly retaliate against Bashriyya, if some random group of terrorist put a shaped charge on their project."
"They would have to be able to trace it back to us."
"And even if they did, just another black country that is unstable and can't keep their shit together."

"Think of it this way.... Y'know why these guys are doing it?

Just imagine some homeless orphan stealin' from the candy shop because he's got nothin' to eat.
That's exactly what it is. What're you gonna do to the kid? Cut his arm off? Nah.

There is no need to blow up anything, their actions can be limited. And as a matter of fact? I know a guy that has this technology that can turn salt water into drinkable water, there's no need to be fighting over this shit when you can just source out from the ocean." Robert tried to explain as best as he can.

"Who is this guy Robby?"
Nasheed began interrogating him slightly.

"Details, details! It's a very common technique called desalination, a lotta countries do it. I can bring it over to Bashriyya with just a phone call." Robert proclaimed in an air-headed fashion as he sat down.
This was kind of disrespectful, not spilling the beans to a self-proclaimed friend... Kind of infuriating too, no?

"Get me in contact with him as soon as possible."

"Sure sure... I just need you to not blow anything up in the meantime." Robert presented his demand even though he was in no position to be making demands.

"I trust you will keep you word Robby, I'm giving you a deadline though." He smiled

Robert's eyebrow then perked. Seems like his fragile ego seemed to be shattered a bit, he didn't like having 'deadlines' set by people who weren't his employers.
He got up slowly and stared deadpanly at Sadr.

"Speaking of words to keep....
Your father and the previous CEO..... They had an agreement. The 'No Outsiders' agreement if you heard about it... They basically left Afruika for Afruikans.... Like you and I.... And in return? He got to do whatever the hell he wanted and even got our company's backing.

And I'm here thinking that this agreement still stands...
Wishful thinking maybe... Because I know what you're doin' behind my back with those Theedish friends of yours." Suddenly Robert's true colors showed.

"I am a man of my word, I don't break it for no one.
And matter of fact? I'm even going out of my way to help you. Getting you shit that'll only improve your country.

But what about you?" He leaned in.

"I want to work with you, become partners, brothers and share the plenty other benefits that come with keeping Afruika for Afruikans. But in order for that to happen?

I need you to ditch the Theedish.

Think about it, I'll be in touch if you need me. Have a blessed day." Robert leaned off and made his way towards the door. Keeping the black box on Nasheed's table. The only remnant of this conversation.

Sadr al-Nasheed was speechless, Sadr was not like his father as he had practically been groomed to be Theedishland's shill by Ronald Krump. Radically different from Muhammed Nasheed who was largely uncontrollable and unpredictable, General Nasheed's rule carried a lot of historical baggage on Bashriyya. Most of the posters of General Muhammed Nasheed, statues of General Muhammed Nasheed, painting of Muhammed Nasheed, even the currency displayed his face upon it. Sadr was part of Bashriyya's elite Republican Guard unit so he had some credability among the populaiton, but most people just viewed him as the son of General Muhammed Nasheed and not anything different.

Simeltainously Sadr viewed the Theedish as the ultimate ally to the Arab Muslims against their various racial and religious enemies. The Bashriyyan Republican Guard was practically trained by Theedishland's Waffen-SS and was largely politically allied to Theedishland as opposed to his Father who tried to co'operate on a Pan-Afruikan platform. Sadr was not going to betray his comrades in the Republican Guard and their Theedish handlers that easily. He however began to see a threat brewing from some of his Father's old friends. However his goal would be to allow the desalinization to take place first and then begin the purge and then see what his Theedish advisors thought next.

Let Tifya be Tifya

Let Tifya be Tifya

So young yet so ancient! Tifya's claim to glory goes all the way back to antiquity, to the days of the Kiratan Empire. While this empire might have ended with the Islamic conquest of North Afruika, its inheritors live on. The old city of Kirata, though its texture changed by the currents of history, still exists. Today it is the capital of the Republic of Tifya. Yet for all the claims of the Kiratan legacy, one must recognize a simple fact. Tifya is no empire. It no longer dictates the script of history, nor does it even play a prominent role on the stage.

There were attempts to change this of course. Following the decolonization efforts in 1950s, President Samaha spearheaded the formation of the Western Arab Union. This super-polity, guided by the principles of Arab Socialism, existed for about a decade and a half before it vanished into the dustbin of history. Bashriyya and Flyrhia, the other two constituent countries were angered as they saw their autonomy reduced every year. The increasing factionalism in the All-Union Socialist Arab Party did not help as well. When the civil war came in 1967, Samaha's authoritarian regime fell. And while the two other countries went their separate ways in the pursuit of real Arab Socialism, Tifya was left in the dark.

With Samaha gone and much of the armed and security forces destroyed, the remnant of the SAP began to loosen its grip on the population. Through a series of reforms, democracy began to grow amidst the Tifyan sand. It is no easy task, with hostile neighbors both to the east and west, Tifyan sovereignty was already challenged many times. The Republic has so far survived these challenges, but no one makes any illusions. More will come. And a single failure can mean the end to everything...

Khazaria Supports Bashriyya

Postby Neo Khazaria » Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:51 pm

The Elders of Khazaria, the Kagan Bek, and their lord, the Kagan, filled the dark room with cigar smoke as they watched the events in Sugogo unfold. They rubbed their hands in glee at the sight of gentles slaughtering each other.
The Kagan stuffed his golden pocket watch back into his pocket and puffed on his big 60 ring gauge stogie. He looked with indifference at the carnage on the movie screen.
"Kagan Bek Sanders, why have you summoned me to such a boring event?"
"Kagan Redshield, we must pour gasoline onto this fire in order to destabilize the region and open new markets for our financial interests."
"Dont forget the human trafficking opportunities" said Elder Podesta
The Kagan advised Minister of Media, Jeff Zuckerov, that he should broadcast Sugogo's violence while conveniently ignoring the violence of Bashriyya to their international audience. Mos-Ad would also be planting disinformation and running a bot campaign against Sugogo's governments, and fund NGO's advocating for human rights in Sugogo.
"Excellent plan, lord Kagan" hissed Kagan Bek Sanders, wringing his hands. Elder Podesta sat rubbing two blood shekels together in glee as the goyim killed each other. "When the dust settles, Khazarians will have the right to the water, not one tribe of gentiles or the other. Soon the Bashriyyans will bow to us too."
The Elders debated which side to support, and what the outcomes of the war would be. They considered taking advantage of the refugee crisis and flooding Eulabia with Sugogan refugees and using the media to call Eulabians who did not want to live with Sugogans and their third world ways and radical islamic bashriyyans intolerant and bigots. Kagan Sanders was the inventor of a new ideology, called Socialism for the Rich, which meant that the water in question would go exclusively to Khazarian elite bloodlines and their families and would be able to kill many people by dehydration and then sell to whoever was left at exhorbitant prices.
Also, Khazaria had a thriving BPA and corn syrup soda industry (though Khazarians were not allowed to touch food for outsiders, they ate organic vegetables, hormone free beef, and filtered their water). The Goyim would have to settle for soda, micrplastics and birth control GMO crops by the Goysanto corporation (a subsidiary of Redshield Incorporated.) The Khazarian Merchant Navy, via the USS Churchill, would ship the Bashriyyans and Sugogons both into Eulabia, no matter their age, military experience, or extremist beliefs.

"We'll send the Bronze Serpent into Sugogo, and start some real Hell." said Minister of Defense, Henry Kissingov.

OOC: Khazaria, I am requesting you officially delete your post until your nation is accepted into the region.

Akagi castle - the seat of the Shogun - shone in crimson today, it's walls contrasting with endless neons coming from Ishikawa proper. Inside it's red walls, Maki Kojiro slowly walked across the halls, gazing upon the elaborate paintings displayed on the walls. There was Murakami Kenshin, leading armies to victory to establish the cross of Iesu no Mikoto in Nifon; there was furious Date Sorin among the corpses of his foes and fires of his rage, and other Nifonese heroes stood near them, though with lesser splendour.

With one move, the real ruler of Nifon slid the shoji doors and entered in a small room. Decorum inside was a mixture of traditional Nifonese design with modernity - with a small, wooden table at ground levels, legless chairs and crimson futons. In front of one of those futons sat a short man, with bald head and a pair of small eyes.

"You wanted to meet me, Daiei-kun" the Nifonese Shogun addressed his spiritual advisor "I apologize I could answer your request only now, but certain matters regarding politics took my time."

"Certain political matters..." sighed the preacher "It is about that I want to speak with you Kojiro-sama."

Maki sighed. He respected the preacher. Both of them shared the same faith - but at the same time, he knew that his friend could be too idealistic and unable to recognize reality of this world. He hated when he got himself involved in political debates.

"It concerns your excellency's alliance with Palmyrion" the preacher continued "How long do you, Kojiro-sama, intend to court a government that persecutes our brethren? How long do you intend to ally with the Rrakambini the Yezeberru? She is one of most wicked women on Earth, and you Kojiro-sama are enabling her...."

"I am doing what I am doing for a reason. I don't consider the Rrakambini a friend..."

"Yet your excellency is enabling her to persecute followers of our Lord!"

"I am not" countered the Shogun "I have many times expressed my dissatisfaction with her actions. Yet should I drop her, we will loose access to Afruika, and Ancor will be doing the same - only this time from Deccan to Mirsk. I prefer to deal with her than with Ancorians."

"Choosing lesser evil is still evil!" shouted the preacher.

"Is it?" sighed Kojiro "I too wonder the reality of this cruel, cursed world. But the truth is that the Lord of Heaven himself never asked us to take his rules legalistically. I myself wondered it when I have read the third chapter of Sutra of Judges, where Aoddu murdered "Egguronu. It was so strange to me, to read in the sutras of Merciful Emperor of such a deed. Where was Aoddu's honor then? It is then I have understood that if Aoddu hadn't murdered the king of Moab, a greater evil would have befallen people of Jotei no Mikoto. So is with me. This world is evil, chaotic and I do not always get to choose with whom I am allying - but I will never compromise my principles."

"I see" responded Daiei "I am glad that you at least want to stay on side of Heavenly Lord. I will be praying though that your excellency can distinguish what is what is really necessary, and what is his own flesh looking for an excuse."

With those words, the preacher stood up and left.

Rostov City, National People's Republic of Rostovia

General Oleg Stepanov was applauding. Everyone around him was applauding. General Stepanov's hands were killing him. He was fairly certain everyone else around him felt like their hands were killing them too.

Below the VIP box occupied by a select group of Rostovia's political and military elite, massed formations of men paraded in lockstep. Jackboots thudded on the street in unison as banners waved and the marching bands did their best to be heard over the thunderous applause. Opposite the VIP box, on a balcony jutting out of the Palace of the Supreme Leader, stood the only three individuals in the audience whose hands were not aching from nearly two hours of applauding. On the left, there was Rezan Lukhov, son of the Supreme Leader and Stepanov's fellow general in the Rostovian National Army. In the middle stood Supreme Leader Osip Lukhov, Vozhd of the Rostovian People, Grand High Marshal of the Rostovian Armed Forces, Heir to the Tsar's Throne, Great Conductor of Human Happiness, Shining Beacon of Enlightenment, Champion of the Rostovian Faith, Honorary Doctor of Sciences at Rostov City University, Master Guide of the Revolution, Teacher of the Revolutionary Method, Grand Architect of the People's Happiness, Supreme Father of the Rostovian People, Grand Chairman-General Secretariat of the Mladorostovian Party, Vanguard of the Lukhovist National Front, and anything else that the sycophants could come up with to describe their illustrious leader. To the Vozhd's right stood the man of the hour, the one for whom these thousands of soldiers marched, whose personage was being honoured today. Anatoly Lukhov, second son of the great leader, stood uncomfortably in his rigidly pressed uniform, the sweat streaming down his collar as he struggled to maintain his composure. Oblivious to the young man's discomfort, the masses continued to applaud.

Stepanov's concentration nearly broke as a low voice hissed at him from the shadows of the doorway leading back into the building on which the VIP box was built. Still clapping furiously, the general began to shuffle backwards towards the doorway. The other notable personages, sensing that something of grave importance was afoot, slid out of the way without missing a beat. Once he had passed through the doorway, Stepanov ducked out of the Supreme Leader's line of sight. "What?" he growled in a low whisper.

"Problems in Bashriyya, General." The man who spoke was dressed in the uniform of the Committee of National Loyalty, a nebulous organisation dedicated to intelligence, repression, security, and sending people who made jokes about Osip Lukhov to the gallows. "According to the ambassador in the Bashriyyan capital, Sadr al-Nasheed is making provocative statements, threatening his neighbour Sugogo. Details are sketchy, but it appears that our ally is concerned over Sugogoan exploitation of this big lake that both countries share."

The general frowned. "How is this a problem exactly-" He ran his eyes over the man's shoulder boards- "Lieutenant? A trifle over a large puddle is surely not Rostovia's concern."

"General, Colonel Zhukovsky has concluded that this could escalate into a situation that could jeopardise our oil supplies. As you may know, Bashriyya is our primary supplier and we cannot allow anything to disrupt their operations." The man's statement resonated with Stepanov. The general was all too aware of the precarious nature of Rostovia's oil reserves. Surrounded on all sides by enemies, sanctioned to the hilt by the nations of the world, Rostovia's oil imports had reduced to the barest trickle. The nation's reserves were pitiful, drained during the years of war that had plagued Rostovia since the fall of the old communist regime. Bashriyya provided a vital lifeline that allowed the Rostovian military to continue functioning.

"Tell me everything." Stepanov lifted an arm to indicate to his companion that they should go. The two men strode purposefully down the hall, one talking incessantly, the other listening with grave concern.

Later

Darkness had fallen on the capital city by the time that the Supreme Leader was ready to receive his top military advisor. Stepanov was shown into Osip Lukhov's richly furnished private rooms. The Vozhd had changed out of his medal-bespangled uniform and was relaxing in a shirt of fine cotton and silk undershorts beneath a plush robe bearing the Lukhovist insignia which also took pride of place upon the flags which adorned the room. As the general entered, Lukhov indicated with his glass of premium whisky for Stepanov to help himself to the drinks cabinet. After pouring himself a rich measure of bourbon, Stepanov took a seat opposite the great leader.

"The Committee has indicated that there are matters of concern in Bashriyya, my Vozhd." Stepanov proffered the folder he had put together before coming to see the Supreme Leader. Lukhov reached forward and took the sheaf of documents.

"That little sandblot of a country? What, the oil's run out?" Moustache bristling, the Supreme Leader perused the intelligence on the situation that the Committee of National Loyalty believed to be in development. Many years ago, Osip Lukhov had known Muhammed al-Nasheed, father of the current Bashriyyan leader. The two international pariahs had developed an alliance of necessity that continued today. In exchange for its oil, Bashriyya received regular shipments of Rostovian-made armaments that tended to end up in the hands of various terrorists and proxy groups backed by the Arab nation. "Water? The Committee is worried over a little spat about water?"

There was a pause as the autocrat digested the information he had received along with another glass of alcohol. "Stepanov, I want you to keep an eye on this situation. If, and that's a really big if, this blows up, we need to move to keep Bashriyya on our side. We need that oil." Lukhov took another sip of whisky. "Those goat lovers might push the degenerates they share a border with into fighting them so I want our troops ready to go and pull their fat out of the fryer. Tell the Bashriyyans we stand behind them on this issue. Oh, and Zhukovsky is getting too independent-minded. I don't care if he's right about this speech of Nasheed's blowing up into an international incident. If he is, fine. If he isn't, then it's a good thing we replaced him. Him and his entire department."

Stepanov finished his bourbon and stood up. "It shall be done, my Vozhd." He was halfway to the door when another thought occurred to him. The general turned back to his leader. "My congratulations to your son on his birthday, my Vozhd."

* * * *

To: The government of Bashriyya

By decree of his excellency Supreme Leader Osip Lukhov, Vozhd of the National People's Republic of Rostovia, the National People's Republic hereby expresses its heartfelt support for the Bashriyyan people. The Supreme Leader wishes to make it known that Rostovia is standing behind the Bashriyyan Arab Islamic Republic both diplomatically and militarily.

Slava Lukhovu!

"There. Short and to the point." The communications officer looked up at Stepanov as the general proof-read the official communique. "You want me to add anything?"

"No." Stepanov put down the proof copy. "Cable the Bashriyyans after you send this and tell them we can airlift troops to them. Don't tell them that our Vozhd doesn't think it will be necessary. Besides-"

There was a muffled gunshot from the floor below them, followed by a garbled cry of Slava Lukhovu! which was cut short by a second gunshot. The communications officer looked concerned. Stepanov idly fiddled with some of the items on the man's desk.

"Colonel Zhukovsky and his department are being replaced. Now, as I was saying, do you really think someone would go to war over something as simple as this?"

As Stepanov walked away, the communications officer reached out with one trembling hand and picked up the water bottle from his desk. The clear liquid seemed so still, so peaceful. There was another gunshot, further away this time. The communications officer shuddered and set the bottle down again.

Winter, 2021 - Skies over Wenchuan

"All passengers, this is your captain speaking. We are currently experiencing an unexpected mechanical error, and will be making an unexpected landing. Rest assured that the situation is currently still stable, and the airline will refund you the cost of missed flights. Thank you." The captain spoke in English as he check the malfunctioning gauge again. "Paresos mechaniquos!!!" He cursed in Inyurstan, assuming that the ground crew who had checked the plane was just lazy.
However, what he did not know was the the malfunction was intentional - the work of a airline contractor in Potomiak who had been paid off in cash and given the full spiel about how Inyursta was the great evil empire who preys on innocent Muslim nations.

In the air, the pilots still had full control of the aircraft. In fact, a more reckless duo could have attempted to make it to Nifon and probably would have made it, but this pair was following airline procedure, and opted for an airfield in Wenchuan, just over half the distance to their destination. The copilot then radioed the air traffic control tower in Wenchuan...

Down below the airport crews in Wenchuan went to work clearing a space on the runway for the unexpected landing. Vehicles moved about in the gentle snow flurry, and even among the cloudy skies it was clear something was taking place and something out of the norm was about to take place. A man in a think winter coat with a large, furred hood looked through his binoculars at the activity going on through the fence.
Something out of the norm was definitely going down, more so than anyone in the airport or on a plane in the sky could know.
"Inshallah" said the peeping man, putting down his binoculars to reveal his "pure Bashriyyan Arab phenotype".

Within less than half and hour, Flight NY-4284 touched down on the runway in Wenchuan. The plane was wheeled in to the space that had been impromptu cleared to receive it. However, due to the lesser-developed conditions of this particular region of Wenchuan, the passengers and crew would have to disembark the plane down via a ramp and walk into the warm safety of the terminal.
The sudden sound of gunfire alerted them to the reality that the terminal was all but safe. Most of the people at the airfield-side door of the terminal ducked or outright dove into the cold, paved ground.
One exception to the trend was a flight attendant, Marcelina, who stood tall but turned her head to the tarmac behind them.

Emerging from the blustering snow flurry were three pickup trucks loaded with overly-dressed men carrying automatic weapons. She noticed one man at the lead vehicle standing above them all as his truck raced forward, dressed in all black he was the only one not firing into the air. He produced a megaphone from his hand and held it to his mouth:
"BAASSHHRIIYYYAAA W BAS!!!"

"Flight Alpha-Tango-2-2-9, you are cleared for landing." The air traffic tower cleared the six aircraft in English.
"Roger that, thank you Tower Actual." The lead pilot responded back in English.

Under the blazing sun, half a dozen of the fourth-generation multirole fighters deployed their landing gear and made controlled descents down into the arid North Afruikan country, and one-by-one they were directed off the runway into metal hangars. It had been a long journey, crossing oceans and hoping between allied airbases and refueling tankers, and the pilots were all tired and eager to put feet on the ground for good.
Once stepping out of the plane, the lead pilot removed her helmet and undid her hair clips, revealing herself as Captain Ariela Robán - L'Ange de la Norte, and instead of the quarters she headed for the edge of the runway. Her co-lead, 1st Lt. Jacques DeSantos, did the same, though upon removing his helmet revealed himself as lighter-skinned with curly hair and deep, solid brown eyes.
"Illo faise trope calidos..." He said, wiping sweat from his brow. The man from the cooler & wetter hills of central Marindino out of his element in the desert.
"Vueza faisez trope sensitive." She replied, the warm and dry heat of her native north-coastal Madrija helping her acclimate to climates such as this.

Beyond the fence was desert as far as the eye could see, the reflective radiation of heat rising from the parched ground creating vast mirages in the distance. Somewhere out there was Bashriyya, the country for whom tensions were rising yet again.
The country for whom she had a score to settle...

"Oi, Capitain! Major Cousso wants to know what you're doing!?!" Shouted one of the other pilots, a warrant officer.
"Coming." Ariela replied in English.

*** Ishikawa: 1986: Headquaters of Christian Unity Society

Headquarters of Christian Unity Society were held in a small building, as small as the party itself. Inside, there was a simple meeting hall, styled after European theatres - round and with a simple pulpit. Today the area was filled with men, who despite their humble status, were cheerful and enthusiastic.

A young man, dressed in an expensive suit, entered the room. He had a tall, oval face and large eyes, with short black hair. Upon entering, the person in question sat at the edge of the auditorium, to listen to the person entering the pulpit.

"I tell you, our society is vile! Rotten! SINNNNFFULLLL!" shouted the man on the pulpit - an elderly individual with a square face and elegantly combed hair. Despite his polished look, he behaved without any kind of manners "Tsumi is tearing our society apart, and what do our churches do? NOTHING! NOOOOOTHING!"

He jumped on the pulpit, making gestures suited to monkeys trying to scare each other in the jungle.

"It is about time we taken the battle against sin to the society we live in!" he kept shouting "for that reason I have formed the Christian Unity Society! We will retake this nation from the minpon house by house, step by step and district by district! And with that, I shall introduce you the man who shall support us!"

The preacher quit the pulpit and pointed at the young man sitting at the edge.

"Gin-san, come here please!" He called.

The young man approached the preacher, and stood next to him. Finally, "I will have a chance to serve you, Iesu No Mikoto" he thought, before speaking.

"Konichiwa to you all" he bowed "My name is Baishou Gin. Previously I have been studying political science and been a student activist. Also I am member of the board of my father's company. Recently, due to lack of qualified personnel, Hiroki-san here had chosen me to be the party's main strategist. If the Tenshu-sama wills it, we shall win this elections under his providence."

"Well spoken!" shouted Pastor Hiroki "Our war to reclaim this country for our Lord begins today!"

*** Ishikawa: 1986: House of Pastor Hiroki

"What do you mean that we won't compromise our stance on nationalisation of local healthcare?" shouted Gin "It is not only easily doable with the current taxes, but also extremely popular and could win us some votes!"

"I have spoken!" Pastor Hiroki shouted "And you will listen!"

"In such case, why do you even want my opinions?" Gin countered "All my suggestions were shot down!"

"Working with him is a nightmare" Baishou thought "He is trying to be an Emperor, not a pastor. Did our Lord really support that? Still for his sake, I need to endure it. Here I can affect the society the most."

"Listen gaki!" warned the preacher "I have hired you because you are smart. I am not. I was too dumb to learn theology, hence I am a pastor of a nonconformist instead of a conformist church. But this party, this church - I built them. I forged them. They are my empire and as a pastor I am responsible before Tenshu-sama for my flock. And what good is a flock that can't obey it's shepherd? No good. Hence, know your place."

Gin sighed, but his faith kept him strong. He looked at a fire place to hist right, which shone brightly.

Then, the preacher's phone rang.

"Oh, it's you Sayoko-kun" he cheered taking it up "Yes, I will be free to meet up with you today evening at 19.00! Come to my office... and be properly clothed.."

The last sentence was said with a voice so lecherous that two remaining men in the room turned their faces with disgust.

"Well I have to go." Hiroki said "I want a report by tomorrow. By God's will, we shall win!"

And he left. Gin instantly turned to the man next to him, and asked?

"Why is he meeting with Sayoko-san? Isn't she wife of Hashimoto-kun?"

"She is" laughed the man "But everyone knows that Hiroki-sama f***s her. Five others too."

"Does Hashimoto-san know?" Gin asked with disgust.

"Yes" countered the man "But he won't do anything. Being a preacher is all he knows, and if Hiroki-san throws him out of his church, it is all over for him. Besides, he cheats on her too."

It was at that moment the fire place went dark, and Baishou Gin's faith was extinguished alongside with it.

*** Ishikawa: 1987 Headquarters of Christian Unity Society

"Hiroki-san!" the member of the Party's committee shouted "Our party had not suffered such a defeat in years. Can you please explain to us why did it happen!"

Pastor Hiroki stood at the auditorium and surveyed his fellow party members with his eyes. Only this time, it were not eyes of a victorious, triumphant shepherd of the flock. He had been beaten and forced to accept the result - and cope with it.

"It is because the society prefers sin over preaching of dharma of our crucified lord!" he shouted, knowing that he has to make an act in order to save himself "If we only hold more revival meetings..."

"And pray tell, what would revival meetings do?" countered another politician "Fact is, that if you, Hiroki-san, focused less on ranting, and more on winning, you would not have scared the moderates off. They may be wrong, but we need them their votes!"

The preacher thought swiftly. He had to find a way out of this - and best way out was to find a scapegoat. Someone to blame - and he had such a someone right under his hand.

"Gin!" he shouted ignoring the honorifics, waking up the sitting young man "You were supposed to be our strategist! It is your fault!"

"My fault?" Gin countered, but was instantly shouted out:

"You were the party's strategist! You were supposed to show us the way to victory! How could you! I MADE A MISTAKE TO ALLOW SUCH AN UPSTART TO HOLD SUCH AN RESPONSIBLE OFFICE! FROM THIS DAY ON, I WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW ONE!"

"Just why?" muttered Baishou in his head. Rage and indignation burned inside his heart at the wrongful accusations - alongside with a desire to stand up for his rights.

"I GAVE YOU MANY IDEAS BUT..." he shouted, rising up to defend himself.

But, he had no idea how fanatical some members of CUS were. They were willing to do anything for their pastor, even if meant death. For them there was no way in which their leader could be wrong or do anything wrong- and having been provided a credible target by their leader, they leashed out. After all, their leader was always right.

"How dare you accuse our pastor!"

"Shame on you Gin!"

The chorus of voices continued, drowning even the party committee members who tried to stand in his defence. Even if Hiroki had no formal power to strip him of his job, it was enough to destroy the young man's reputation.

*** Ishikawa: 1987 Sushi Bar

It was seven o'clock when Gin walked into a small Sushi bar. The scent instantly hit his nose, but was not hungry. He walked with his head down, constantly looking at the floor, ignoring even the requests of waitress to give her his order. Bitterness filled his chest, like burning fire which confused the firewood.

"Oh Gin-san!" said a voice from the side. Gin turned, to see an elderly man with silver, long hair walking towards him.

"Konichiwa, Ito-sama!" he bowed "I am sorry, but I am not up to another debate."

"A pity, because I always enjoyed our debates" uttered the man sitting in front of his table "You were always this one student who tried to change your professor's views. You know me, what I believe in. I am the rabid atheist, you are the follower of Tenshukyo..,"

"Were" said sharply Gin "I have lost my faith."

The professor raised his brows in surprise.

"My my" he said "What has happened? You were always the most zealous one."

Gin told his former professor of the recent events at CUS. Through the entire story, the teacher listened, only to laugh at the end.

"You finally understood what I have been trying to tell you!" laughed Ito "That sole meaning of religion is to earn power for those who run it! Everything in this world is about power - humans are just too hypocritical to admit it, so we dress it in fancy words. You preacher figured that by scaring them with jigoku he can gain obedience of his flock - and his flock bought it!"

"I would not have listened to you normally" said the former student "But now I am willing. Now that Jotei no Mikoto is out of the picture.. what do I do with my life?"

"You need to raise above the flock!" continued Ito "The flock is stupid, hence it bought up the lies. But you are smart Gin. You need to accept the reality of humanity and raise above it. You need to forge your own wisdom, your own meaning by yourself and let it guide your choices. Only in such a manner can you raise above the foolish song of the flock and be a human that actually matters."

And in that moment, something new was born out of Gin's disappointment, hatred and bitterness. A new idea - to be lord over his own existence, To gather others who held the same views.

And woe to all who stood in his path.

*** Ishikawa: 1988: Shigeharu's Avenue 81

Broken and defeated, Pastor Hiroki was walking through the street. He had been booted out of his own party - a clear coup if he saw one. Full of anger, he walked through the streets, looking at passing cars in the rain.

"Hi, Hiroki-kun! How is the life treating you?" came a curious voice from in front of him.

He rose his head to notice that the street was empty - except for one man. He stood in front of him, in a dark smoking and full of pride painting on his face. Baishou Gin was there - but different than what he saw before.

"Gin? Why are you here?" the pastor asked.

"To relish in my victory." Gin smiled "It was a hard time obtaining records of all this trash you said, but when I have spread it in public, even your flock could not deny reality. You are done - and I am taking your spot as a leader of Christian Unity Society.'

Hiroki hissed with anger, but he was power less. There was nothing he could do. He could not attack Gin here, and his reptuatation was in tatters.

"Don't worry" Gin continued "Under my leadership, it will grow. We may even stop being merely a prefectural party and try fighting for the Imperial Diet itself. It would be great.."

"Why? Is it revenge" shouted the preacher.

"No" countered Baishou "I have realized that nothing in this world truly matters. There is no kami, no higher cause - only us. But this flock of idiots won't get it. Bakayaros will always envy their betters and seek to destroy them due to their envy. Hence those who are better from them have to hide their true views and thoughts. But without guidance of the betters, the flock will pershish. Hence, I from now on will aim to create my ideal society - a society where the betters are no longer persecuted, but will get their deserved respect, while the flock knows their place and is properly occupied."

"And with such views you want to lead CUS?" countered Hiroki "You are an atheist! An infidel...."

"Yes." Gin looked into Hiroki's eyes "But in private. In public, I will be Gin the pious. Gin the moral. Because that is what I need to be for my society to arise."

Baishou pointed at people walking far away.

"Do you think that any of them wants to be free? To make their own choices?" he spoke "No, because freedom has a cost that they are unwilling to pay. Thus all of them want to be lead, guided and lorded over. Can you imagine if they were given responsibility over themselves? It would lead to a catastrophe. Hence we can't - but we need to provide them something that will put them in their place. A noble lie, if you will, to give them purpose and sense - and make them calm and obedient. This noble lie will direct their steps according to how their betters want, while their betters, knowing real issues and real problems, will guide my idal society to greatness."

"Damn you, Gin" screamed the pastor "I will let them know all you said here."

"Go ahead, tell them." Gin grinned "You are a man who was just discredited for living a double life. Who will believe you?"

And with that, Gin left Hiroki, leaving the pastor to himself. The former leader of CUS slowly looked at leaving shape of a human, realizing he had created a monster who will haunt not just him, but the entire Nifon for a long period of time.

Winter, 2021 - Skies over Wenchuan

The man wearing all black was none other then Colonel Mahmoud al-Faisal, Bashriyyan advisor to Wenchaun's Muslim warlords. "Attention, all of you on the plan. We are the Fedayeen Bashriyya-Islamic People's War Group" he spoke over the megaphone, move your sorry asses to the terminal all of you. Do not make any sudden moves we are prepared not only prepared to kill but to be killed. Insha'Allah if you cooperate this will go peacefully." the armed men got off the pick-up trucks, a bus was then driven to the area. a total of about 40 Bashriyyan troops, and at least 23 Wenchaunese Muslim fighters were in the area armed with either Cuscatlani made INACAL rifles, Wenchaunese Type 56 rifles, Wenchaunese made Type-77 sub-machine guns, and shotguns. They surrounded the plane. As far as these men were concerned, if any wrong moves were made they would fill the plane with lead and it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

A video was released to the Government:

"We are the Fedayeen Bashriyya-Islamic People's War Group, recently we have taken Flight NY-4284 and its passengers hostage. We will free the hostages if our demands are met, the following demands are

1. The release of political prisoner and revolutionary brother leader of all Arabs, Chairman, General Muhammed al-Nasheed
2. We demand our comrades within Red Ocean, Hezbollah, EZLP and other revolutionary Socialist, Nationalist and Muslim freedom fighters be released from Inyurstan jails. A list of names will be sent to the Inyurstan Government as communication begins for specific details as regards to who these freedom fighters are.
3. We demand all economic warfare against the Revolutionary state of Tirmeno end immediately.
4. We demand a vote recount on all Inyurstan elections to make sure Jean-Baptiste Calderone did not cheat
5. We demand an investigation into the release of the "Crimson Virus" by Inyurstan officals
6. We demand an investigation into allegations that Calderone is actually not a native born Inyurstan but is actually of Judean origins
7. We demand an international investigation by the World Assembly be done on Inyursta's nuclear strike capabilities.
8. We demand investigations into allegations of Nifonese collusion in Inyurstan elections.

We stand in solidarity with the Alternative Coalition which has long tried to lift Inyursta out of poverty, out of imperialism and out of political backwardness. Inyursta needs a strong leader who is revolutionary, stead-fast, who will ensure national unity, and socialism for the people and will eliminate Zionism and Capitalist plutocratic parasitism in the country.

People of Inyursta rise up, you have nothing to lose but your chains! We the men of the Islamic People's War Group stand with you against your oppressors, we have taken your people hostage not because we hate you but because we are a desperate and poor oppressed people and this is the only thing we can do to get to your leaders so that they hear the voice of the oppressed people. We do not wish to harm any innocent Inyurstans or civilians at all. Our war is a people's war against your corrupt rulers and their imperialism! We are fighters against oppression! As one of the famous philosophers and musicians of America, the singer Tupac Shakur once said "An Injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere!"

Allahu Akbar!"

That same day, Sadr al-Nasheed would respond in the news media saying "The Islamic People's War Group have very reasonable demands, the voice of the oppressed matters and must be heard. Bashriyya exists and Bashriyya resists! I do not support the hijacking of planes, but I understand what these men are doing in my country's name. The privileged Capitalist classes of society always hate it when their power is targeted and the oppressed fight back against their oppression. This hijacking is a manifestation of revolutionary struggle of the under-privileged masses rising up against the bourgeois. A social revolt against Neo-Liberal capitalist oppression if you will." Many people clapped upon hearing Nasheed's response chanting "Leader we praise you, Allah bless your family and give them peace." As Nasheed had a large celebration with Bashriyya donuts, delicious dates, figs, and Kharoub juice and other delicious food and snacks where the people's masses celebrated in festivities. "Revolution day" a day commemorating all Global Revolutionary Armed Forces against Imperialist Capitalist Oppression.

Bashriyyan capital city of Tripoli-2021

Sadr al-Nasheed sat down at his desk going through various papers, one of his officers Colonel Nasim came in, one of the old guard from Muhammed Nasheed's days. "Sir, we have received some assurance of support military and diplomatic from Rosotiva." he handed the transcript to Nasheed who read over it, excellent I will respond to it. A message was soon sent to the Rostovian Government

To: The government of Rostovia

We thank you for assuring us of your support, what sort of military support would you be willing to offer?

BASHRIYYA W BAS!

Bashriyyan-Sugogo Border, also Modern day

A group of 12 men crossed into largely unguarded Sugogan border, dressed in a combo of traditional Arab robes with military BDUs and combat boots under, each one of the men carried a Type-56 assault rifle, chest rigs full of ammunition and shoulder bags carrying hand-grenades. These men were really Bashriyyan special forces, but were to operate under the name of the "United Islamic Liberation Front" or UILF. They headed to a small local police station and tossed hand-grenades through the windows, upon the grenades exploding each man began to open fire.

"ALLAHU AKBAR" they shouted firing their rifles into the building on full-auto. once the small group of officers in the building were dead. They went back into the night.

Bashriyyan Presidential Palace

"The Theedish refuse to give us the cruise missiles you desire, your excellency." said Kalam al-Nasheed. "God damn them to Hell, I spit upon those polytheists and their cross, may Allah banish their names from his book." Sadr cursed "My Rhidean friend was right, time to turn on the Theedish we don't need their help." All Theedish oil facilities were then immediately nationalized upon national revolutionary decree.

RE: Regarding: Your Capitalist exploitation of our Oil
Encryption: OPEN
To: Government of the 4th Reich

You are to get your fuck faces out of our country, or we will punish all of your staff, the oil will now be owned by Bashriyyans for Bashriyyans. I'm aware of your scum hiding behind my men's uniform, once I'm done dealing with Sugogo I will purge my officer ranks and you will have no one to depose me. Rot in Hell Pig dogs! May Allah curse you Idol worshippers, Jews and Crusaders, may you burn in Hell for your lies and refusal to support me with the missiles I so desperately need for this operation. I guess my ballistic missiles will work just fine.

His Excellency,
President and Sheikh Sadr Al-din Al-Nasheed

Upon hearing this deceleration, Colonel Nibal instantly opposed and ordered his forces to guard all oil facilities to allow the Theedish to continue their work in direct defiance to Sadr al-Nasheed's orders to nationalize the oil supply, he spoke to a Haramunean news agency saying "What the President is doing is nothing short of incompetent, as of right now workers for these facilities are still being trained and the system of private enterprise with these oil wells in benefitting the Bashriyyan people, no exploitation going on here, just politics, we refuse to take part in expelling these fine men. They might not be Muslims like us but they are people of the book and followers of Abraham. We want to see our victory in Sugogo just as much as anyone but what the President is doing is pushing us dangerous close to Civil-war, in fact he is repeating the same mistake the Tifyans made in the 70s before the great split of the Socialist Arab Party."

Tripoli, Bashriyya

Bashriyyan soldiers loyal to Sadr Ali al-Nasheed marched as a glorious song played over a loudspeaker Hilya a Nasheed By Talib Al Habib. Sadr sat down as the troops marched by and occasionally would salute them with a Roman salute. "Nibal has a lot of nerve trying to rebel against me, he accuse me of getting us closer to a civil war and sabotaging potential victory in Sugogo, what the f** does he know?" he said to Basil al-Abub who sat next to him.

The loud noise of the marching boots could be heard for miles away, alongside the sound of tank treads. Chants of "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great) could be heard from the crowd, alongside "With our souls and our blood, we will redeem you, oh Sadr." alongside chants of "Kill the Sugogan Ni##s, rip their throats out." repeated over and over. And chants of "Sadr, you are the defender of Socialist Arabism!" and "Sadr you are the champion of the Bashriyyan people and Arabs and Muslims everywhere."

He then issued a communique to Robert Cecil Huntley, who he had previously rebuked for his anti-Theedish stance

-------------------------------------------------------------------
You were right Robby, I have decided to cut Theedishland off as you said, but traitors in my military are not letting me remove the Theedish from Bashriyya. Also I am still going to war with Sugogo, whether you like that or not, but you were right on the Theedish being a foreign imperialist cancer that must be cut out and exterminated from this land.

Sadr began to write his own political work "My War" outlining his political and economic thought, a series of new radical Socialist reforms similar to those of Qaddafi and Hugo Chavez were implemented on the economy and the Government, the Party was now officially dissolved as was Parliament and all political parties banned by "popular decree", revolutionary mobs of Bashriyyan youth began to beat and torture supporters of the old system. He suspended the constitution of Bashriyya and declared himself supreme brother leader and guide of the National Revolution.

Winter, 2021 - Wenchuan

The passengers and crew huddled into the terminal, terrified and panicked. Inside was warm and dry, but eeriest of all was the frequent sound of continuing gunfire as the Wenchuanese islamists continued to "liquidate" airport security and anyone else unlucky enough to find themselves at their mercy. Babies cried loudly, while women screamed and men hyperventilated. Somewhere in the crowd was at least one - or more - sky marshals, though at the moment they were either rendered completely useless by the situation or doing their best to blend in.

Amidst the crowd and the chaos of the situation, the flight attendant Marcelina made time to reach into her back and produce a pair of tinted contacts - the kind that made her eyes appear dark and solid-brown. She was not sure what fate the terrorists would have in store for her if they discovered her true eye color - Red - but she was not naïve enough to wait around and find out...

- Winter, 2021Castille de Terro

Castille was a buzz with activity, federal negotiators preparing to make a statement, political pundits debating what should be done, the Alternative Coalition political faction denouncing the hijackers and condemning their actions - that is along with the usual military planning and plotting.

ISD were currently working on a strategy to deal with negotiating with the Bashriyyan terrorists. At the moment everything was on the table - negotiation, pitting the Wenchuanese against the Bashriyyans, digging up info on the terrorists and taking their own families hostage, and of course the ever-present military solution.
The ISD, of course, with no direct channel of communication (a fact which they used to their advantage) put out a general message broadcast on Inyurstan television (which they know would make it around the world) demanding the terrorists show proof that the hostages were still alive and placed the burden of initiating contact back on them.

Meanwhile the Groupe Mobile de Acquisition Objectivo was getting prepped and ready for a potentially dicey mission. Known by their English name "Mobile Target Acquisition Group" or "M-TAG". M-TAG was, despite their reputation, actually conceived as a hostage-rescue team during the height of the Red Insurgency amidst numerous Marcon de Rouje (Red Ocean) and cartel high-profile kidnappings. Of course amidst the calamity of the Lolloh-Ruol Wars they had been employed into and perfected the art of taking out high-value targets like politicians and generals. Already, Inyurstan Army intelligence was busy contacting their Nifonese counter-parts digging for layouts of the air design - once they had the design down they could then build a model and begin the relentless process of training for the encounter.

Present Day - Tifyan-Sugogoan Border

Waves of wind gently rolled through the pale-olive sea of grass in this region of Afruika, the fringes between the wet jungle-coated muck pit of the center and the vast ocean of red sand and cracked dirt to their north and east. A few rugged, bent and scrubby looking trees dotted the landscape of the tropical dry savanna.
The roar of engines broke the gentle serenity as a small gang of pick-up trucks, a single agricultural cargo truck and a pair of Iguana M2 4x4's "borrowed" from the Sugogoan uniformed armed forces road through on a sandy road - if by "road" you counted a pair of used tire tracks rolling through the savanna.

Image

Leading the convoy was Commander Abaeze Akinyemi, a central Sugogoan militia commander. His "regiment", the Lords of the Wind, was of dubious legal standing - how much recognition it received as a branch of their armed forces varied based almost entirely who was in office that year and what bribe they were taking that week.
Regardless of how the government felt about him that day, Akinyemi had other allies who weren't as fair-weather-friends as his government was (relatively speaking, anyways): the Inyurstans. Riding shotgun with him was an NIS spook by the name of "Agent Sarillo", which Akinyemi was smart enough to realize was like a Yankee spook introducing themselves as "Washington" or "Jefferson". Also present in the convoy were two NIS operators, Lopez and Guille, both former Niege Luno commandos with an expertise in training local insurgent forces.

A massive Inyurstan aircraft grumbled in the skies in its approach. The JC-800 cargo plane came flying low over the semi-arid grasslands. Such a plane was designed for carrying four YT-1 Caiman light tanks into battle and air-dropping them in, and the whole crew from pilots to load master to the E3 on his first deployment were all well-trained in this very maneuver. But what the aircraft would drop was not a quartet of light tanks, but rather just under three-dozen off-road bikes loaded onto four pallets of eight.

"Motorbikes? You bring us motorbikes?" Commander Akinyemi asked, likely expecting tanks or armored fighting vehicles.
"Your ancestors rode horses into battle against the Arab colonizers, your men will ride a different kind of cavalry against the Arab colonizers once more..." Agent Sarillo remarked, gesturing for Lopez to help the militia with unloading the bikes from the pallets.

The main aqueduct stretched for kilometres westward into the rest of the country, eventually reaching its terminus at a river in the western reaches of Sugogo. As soon as the aqueduct project was formally inaugurated and construction efforts started, towns, villages, and cities near the aqueduct construction sites saw the opportunity to accommodate an influx of construction workers for short-term economic boosts as well as future expansion and longer-term economic growth of their settlements brought about by the aqueduct finally bringing much-needed fresh water into their settlements. Palmyrian franchising chains set up shop as Sugogian merchants applied to become franchisees, competing with home-grown Sugogian franchisers for clientele, talent, and revenue.

This was all happening even as the internal security problem of Sugogo was a major concern for the aqueduct project, and so the primary contractors of the aqueduct project hired Palmyrian PMCs, chief among them the Griffin-Krugman Security Corporation. Griffin-Krugman was founded by a pair of immigrants to Palmyrion in 1970s, offering their services to both private and state clients during the Years of Lead. Now the company has grown to be a major player in Palmyrion as one of its largest PMCs, the other being the logistics-centred Rentoria Secure Logistics, with whom it shares a cordial relationship with. Across the vicinity of the aqueduct construction projects, GKSC patrols provided much-needed security for the construction project as well as for the towns around it, with Rentoria providing secure logistics services for the construction contractors. They still remain in Palmyrion to this day, with GKSC providing the bread-and-butter of private security in Sugogo, and Rentoria Secure Logistics delivering supplies to field posts around the aqueduct. That Bashriyya had started threatening Sugogo with invasion as soon as the first completed segments of the aqueduct became operational only cemented the need for these PMCs to remain in-country.

And what better sign of promising economic growth than bustling night markets guarded keenly by GKSC troopers and UAVs? It wasn't uncommon to see squads, and sometimes platoons, of heavily-armed, armour-clad, grey-dressed men patrolling the streets at night alongside their technicals, each of which was basically an armoured Toyotama hatchback SUV with a pintle-mounted machine gun on top. The convoy flowed among the crowd like a drifting rock in a river, slowly but surely making its way through the teeming mass of denizens shopping and strolling at the growing and bustling night markets of town.

SGT Youssouf Hissein was a former Sugogian Army soldier in his late 20s, having reached the rank of sergeant, and with the capability to command a squad. After working odd jobs left and right to provide for his family, he took an employment opportunity as GKSC scouted for local candidates to join its ranks, and underwent one year of selection and training under GKSC before being formally accepted into its ranks. He was assigned to squad Anvil 2-2, consisting of him as the squad leader and 6 others under his command. GKSC offered him job security, benefits, and pay that he could only have dreamt of in the Sugogian Army, which included the full range of insurance benefits available in his area of operations as well as education credits for his children should he have any in the future (he was still unmarried, albeit already in a relationship).

His squad looked keenly among the crowd, amidst stalls of street food arrayed at the street and small shops at the first floors of pristine, newly-constructed mixed use buildings. SGT Hissein thought of buying some street food to bring home to his family when he ends his shift for the day, a gesture of thoughtfulness that he is sure his family would appreciate. Additionally he could buy a simple bunch of flowers for his girlfriend, after having missed Valentine's yesterday.

The peace would suddenly be broken by a collective shout of "ALLAHU AKBAR!" followed by a few explosions and then by long bursts of gunfire coming from a nearby police station, from which the crowd of denizens ran for their safety in a stampede that local PMC and police forces would have a hard time pushing through and containing. Each squad immediately pushed through the crowd to get to the scene of the shooting, as their radio blared of policemen, woefully outgunned, being shot at and desperately asking for reinforcements

"This is Station 77 of the Segola Police Department, we are under attack! I say again, we are under-" blared the radio as a policeman frantically radioed for assistance, gunfire cracking continuously in the background.

SGT Youssouf Hissein's squad, a 7-strong team of PMC troopers under GKSC, was coincidentally near the area in a routine patrol mission along with SGT Moustapha Arnaud's squad, them being part of a platoon that was assigned to this part of town. Arnaud's squad wasn't far away, being at a street the next block over. He took the initiative to respond, and immediately radioed HQ that he would respond to the attack.

"TOC, Anvil 2-2, we will respond to the attack on Station 77 immediately." Hissein said immediately as the radio went alive after pressing the push-to-talk button on a walkie-talkie mounted on his vest.

"Anvil 2-2, TOC, roger that. Proceed immediately and cautiously to the vicinity." TOC replied immediately.

"Squad, let's go to Station 77, they are being attacked!" Hissein commanded over the radio as crowds of bystanders and denizens ran past them, wailing and rushing for their lives, with his command replied with a succinct "Roger that!"

They would immediately be joined by SGT Moustapha's squad at a junction, as they immediately rushed on foot to the scene of the attack, followed closely behind by their technicals. SGT Hissein's machine gunner caught sight of at least four men clad in traditional Arab robes, military BDUs, and combat boots, and seemingly carrying AK-style assault rifles fleeing into an alley; the group of men fired at them as the machine-gunner shouted "Contact front!" to alert the PMC troopers to the fleeing attackers.

"They're fleeing into the alley!" one of the soldiers under Hissein's command said.

"Anvil 2-2, we are to go on hot pursuit. Moustapha, I suggest you stay behind and establish a perimeter." Hissein said, to which Moustapha replied with a succinct "Roger that."

Hissein's squad immediately hitched upon the SUV and drove to the alley, continuing their pursuit of the attackers on foot, exchanging fire every now and then with the attackers as they withdrew from the scene and from pursuing GKSC troopers. These aren't untrained terrorists, thought Hissein as he hid behind cover, afterwards popping out to release a short 3-round burst from his Arakawa Type 2000.

All the while a UAV flying overhead was monitoring the entire situation, giving TOC a video feed of the fleeing attackers conducting a fire-and-manoeuvre escape as Anvil 2-2 engaged in hot pursuit at them.

"2-2 Victor, I need you to drive around this block into the other street! We need to cut them off!" Hissein radioed to the assigned driver of their squad's SUV, to which the driver replied "Roger that, moving!" before driving onwards at high speed to the street at the other side of the block, hoping to cut off the fleeing attackers. The machine-gunner would immediately open fire at one of the attackers as the attacker exited the alleyway.

Present Day

Since the hostage situation, a huge uptick in anti-Bashriyyan material was being published by Inyurstan privately-owned media. Now, however, the Inyurstan state department was using its own resources to ensure that such wonderful gems of anti-Bashriyyan sentiment were reaching across the globe - especially in countries which bordered everyone's favorite insane pariah state. Articles which emphasized the Bashriyyan tendency towards sexual assault and those which reminded the reader that Arabs were not native to Northern Afruika were especially favored, as they were more likely to incite local populations against the presence of Bashriyyans than simple moralizing and insult-based journalism.

Winter, 2021 - Wenchuan

A group of 10 Wenchuanese islamists walked into the crowd checking passports, if they were Inyurstan they were to be seperated from the other prisoners. "Inwerstan get your ass up! Inwersta is a shit country!" said the slanted eyed Muslim man aiming his Type-56 at a group of Inyurstans.

Walking by the Bashriyyan commander saw Marcelina and found her to be quite fair to look upon "Get her for me" he asked one of his men who aimed a Type-56 at her, the masked terrorist demanded her "Get up woman!" she was made to get up and then brought over by two armed men. Meanwhile a group of four Inyurstan passengers attempted to escape, a Wenchaunese militant began opening fire at them with his Type-56 as they attempted to try and run out through one of the exits they would quickly be gunned down.

The sound of rapid fire and later sight of the four dead (two men and two women) would cause panic among many of the people, babies crying and women screaming. The Bashriyyan commander panicked "What the actual %$%@, what the Hell did you idiots just do?" he scolded the Wenchaunese fighter, "We need to explain this, take pistols off the dead security guards and put them in the hands of four dead Inyurstans. We will release a video to the public about what will happen to those who attempt to defy us and escape. Make sure to tell the people we had to defend ourselves out of desperation to uphold our freedom fighting! It may not work, but it's worth a try."

And the Wenchaunese did exactly as they were ordered to do.

Present Day, Theedishland

Sadr al-Nasheed's wife Allmera appeared on national television addressing the violent and hateful anti-Bashriyyan rhetoric. "Bashriyya is a peaceful country and we do not support terroristic acts like those taken by the Islamic People's War Group." She said with firm conviction. The interviewer then said "It is said Inyurstans have been making propaganda based on lies about Bashriyya."

Allmera responded "Yes, Our country is opposed to rape in any form just about everyone in the world knows this is a lie against our country."

"My husband has done everything he can to help elevate women's position in Bashriyya. But I doubt the mindless consumers in Inyursta would know anything about this because in Inyursta all media is privately owned. Of course naturally a few wealthy people arise to the top as is the case in all countries with unrestrained capitalism, and in a liberal cosmopolitan society like Inyursta naturally the Jews take over such enterprises." The Theedish newsman then asked "Who do you think Calderone works for?"

"It is clear that Calderone serves are those of the super rich who care only about lining their pockets with money. It is truly ashame. Most of the refugees in Eulabia are anti-Nasheed and have been caught numerous times as being allied with Inyursta. You remember when my husband drained our prisons after the EU demanded the release of what they called political prisoners? We gave the EU what they wanted and then Inyurstan's repay us with fake news, while the EU and Inyursta both support anti-Nasheed extremists based in the EU."

Near the town of Sahar, Sugogo through the Bashriyyan border

"We lost Ahmed, he's been hit." one of the insurgents was down, they decided to stand their ground and fight they took positions behind buildings realizing they were now cut off from leaving by the SUV around the alleyway and began firing back at the PMCs. "Allahu Akbar" shouted one militant as he tossed a hand-grenade at the mercenaries.

Around 12:13 AM on the Bashriyyan-Sugogan border, 990 more insurgents in traditional arab clothing crossed into Sugogo. They began taking over villages and putting a new flag up. These men however were not all Bashriyyans although many of them were, they were many Sugogans and many of them ethnic Arabs, others were part of the banned Sugogo Development Party of the late dictator Mustapha Omandi who fled to Bashriyya after the SACTO backed coup, and still others were volunteers from foreign countries, Filistiniyyan Liberation Organization members, Wenchuanese Muslims, Isfahani Hizbollah miltiamen and Muslim fighters from Southern Lebaniyya, others were Arab nationalist volunteers from Qirada with many of them beginning to center themselves in the town of Sahar. All of these men had been given military, political and ideological training at the World Revolutionary Headquarters training camp in Bashriyya where Nasheed exported terrorists all over the world.

"Jamal why do we need all deez foreign fightaz brutha? I don't remember bringing in all these arabs as part of the plan to liberate Sugogo from the kuffir." a Sugogan FDNL fighter Idi said to his friend Jamal

Jamal was perplexed as well "I don't know me brotha, but I know dey be fighting on our side."

Front for Development and National Liberation (FDNL)

"Greetings my friends and brothers of Sugogo, my name is Muhammed al-Bittar I am former head of the Development Party and secretary of defense to Mustapha Omandi. We are freedom fighters! Announcing the creation of the Free Democratic Islamic Republic of Sugogo for too long we have not had our voices heard by the corrupt Western Eulabian and Palmoid backed Government. Today we are declaring freedom and justice for the people of Sugogo, we demand our leaders listen and the people be heard! We are tired of the exploitation of our resources by private companies out of Palmyrion the resources belong to the people of Sugogo and not to the globalist forces, we deserve a right to make money and control our own resources free from foreign influence. We have an ally in the region of Afruika and that is the Bashriyyan Arab Jamahiriyya which has historically helped us under the rightful rule of President Mustapha Omandi. President Omandi is in Bashriyya right now in exile working for you the people, he is planning his return very soon for the cause of national liberation! We demand the Government stand down and that all Palmoid mercenaries leave the country at once or be destroyed by the mighty fist of the People!. Insha'Allah the people of Sugogo will triumph over they oppressas. We are the Front for the Development and National Liberation and we are taking back our country, we are the captains of our country now! Surrenda or Die! "

FROM THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT SADR AL-NASHEED

"My fellow Bashriyyans, may Allah bless you all, earlier today thousands of revolutionary fighters of Sugogan origin have began demanding their right to be represented in a popular government and their right to worship Allah without being persecuted. The Bashriyyan Arab Jamahiriyya stands behind the freedom fighters of the Front for Development and National Liberation, Colonel Moustpha Omandi will be making a speech later tonight announcing his return to Sugogo after he hears further updates on the situation which we hope to have later tonight. I wish to encourage Bashriyyan people to begin celebrating in the streets with popular demonstrations in solidarity with Comrade Omandi! Insha'Allah we shall take back Afruika from the imperialists! Be not deceived the revolution is a world revolution of National Socialists! We will not just strike Palmyrion in Sugogo, we will strike all Imperialist powers in Afruika."

Avery Alexander - Hostiles

"Grenade! Get out!" a squad member shouted as he saw a grenade tossed out of a window and into the alley below, where the GKSC troopers were positioned. In one moment, all of them rushed from the grenade and hit the dirt, their soles facing the grenade to present the least amount of body area as possible - except for one GKSC trooper who jumped on the grenade and covering it with his body, absorbing the blast and severely injuring him in the process. Some of the blast managed to escape from underneath the soldier though, leaving the squad with ringing ears and light concussion. Hissein stood up and low-crawled back to cover, with two of the troopers pulling their severely injured comrade into a nearby building. "Tahir is down!" one of the soldiers pulling Tahir into the building exclaimed over tinnitus and crackling gunfire. The rest of the squad provided covering fire as Tahir was pulled into a building by two of his comrades.

Hissein decided it was time to call for help.

"Anvil 2 Actual, this is Anvil 2-2, we have a trooper down, the attackers are holed up in a building and pinning us down! Request immediate assistance!" Hissein radioed for help to the platoon leader amidst crackling gunfire being exchanged by the troopers with the insurgents. "Roger that, 2-2, we'll cordon the building and tell TOC to send in an entry team if possible." the platoon leader replied.

The GKSC lieutenant ordered his squad on the SUV and told the driver to drive to Anvil 2-2's position. He then immediately issued an order to his platoon to cordon the building. "All Anvil 2 callsigns in Sahar, consolidate on Anvil 2-2's position at Dieudonne Building, 439th Street, and set up a cordon. We will inform Sahar Police Department and see what they can do. Out.". he radioed.

"TOC, Anvil 2 Actual. 2-2 is pinned down at Dieudonne Building, 439th Street. Anvil 2 will be setting up a cordon around the building occupied by the attackers." the lieutenant radioed while on transit to 2-2's position, driving past civilians scurrying for their lives.

"Anvil 2 Actual, TOC, roger that. Cordon the building immediately and provide assistance to 2-2. We'll inform Sahar PD and see what they'll do. We will also send in an entry team and MEDEVAC to evac the injured trooper. How copy, over?"

"Solid copy, TOC, we're on route. Anvil 2 Actual out."

The rest of the platoon arrived immediately at 2-2's position, with 2-2 pointing the building that the insurgents were holed up in; the building was immediately cordoned by the platoon, and not long after the entire block was cordoned by responding Sahar PD units.

The Sugogian military had been receiving military aid from Palmyrion, both in kind and in guidance, as Sugogian military bought up technologically-supplanted Palmyrian military hardware such as, among others, the refurbished F.101 Super Kyofus that have been supplanted by the first indigenous Palmyrian light fighter the F.103 Maya, and Type 1981 Arashis that have been supplanted by the newer Palmyrian CV.102. It wasn't the best - it could be better stuff like the Nifonese Type 2015 or the Palmyrian CV.102 - but it was the best that Sugogo can buy given its relatively small defence budget compared to Palmyrion. Alongside technological aid was training and advice on modern-day combined arms warfare, knowledge that Palmyrion, in spite of a vastly different terrain specialty (focusing on urban, jungle, and mountain warfare), easily imparted onto their Sugogian counterparts without much issue. This also came with ISR support, with intel teams on the ground and UAVs in the air from both PMCs and the Palmyrian military itself.

And this battle is about to prove just how well the Palmyrians trained their Sugogian comrades in the art of war.

As soon as Griffin-Krugman and AFP ISR assets picked up on a battalion-sized mass of raiders crossing the border from Bashriyya and into Sugogo, they immediately alerted the Sugogian military Northeastern Military Region, which in turn readied and sent troops to respond and also sent the information to national command in the capital of Gofala. In less than an hour after the alert was raised, the Northeastern Military Command deployed one of its infantry brigades, the 19th Infantry Brigade, to respond to the cross-border raid, the 19th IB being garrisoned the closest to the border with Bashriyya. Al-Gerja AFB deployed two attack choppers to assist the Army in repelling the cross-border raid, on top of Griffin-Krugman UAVs stationed in Al-Gerja AFB providing real-time ISR support and precision strikes.

Columns of CV.104 4WD utility vehicles serving as infantry mobility carriers in Sugogian service scoured the desert surrounding Lake Sugogo, rushing to the villages that were being raided by the Bashriyyan raiders. At 400 metres away from their targets they unloaded their precious cargo of Sugogian infantry, who then proceeded to close the distance with fire-and-manoeuvre tactics. Once the distance was cleared, brutal house-to-house clearing ensued as the Sugogians cleared the Bashriyyan raiders out of the villages. Artillery cover - at least from howitzers was not available, considering that they would be firing into villages and the Sugogian military wanted to minimise collateral damage. While the Sugogians were trained by the Palmyrians in Time-On-Target and MRSI artillery techniques their hardware was simply lacking in precision and accuracy - but they would nonetheless apply TOT strikes on the Bashriyyan raiders in spite of the limitations of their hardware and their inexperience in precision fires techniques. On the other hand, the use of mortars provided lesser risk of collateral damage, and saw more liberal use among the Sugogian responders as they cleared the villages of Bashriyyans.

Unnamed Airport, Wenchuan - Winter 2021

Marcelina remained calm as she was grabbed and walked at gunpoint towards the brutal commander al-Faisal; though in reality she was terrified. She had to remain calm as she knew that her screaming and crying would only further to terrorize the passengers and her coworkers; meanwhile, she was fighting to contain her fear and using every muscle in her body to keep from shaking. Her heels clacked on the floor, given that she was still in her flight attendant uniform while she was marched to face her captor. At least she had gotten her brown-eyed contacts in... right?
"Big Sis would be calm. Big Sis would know what to do. Big Sis would handle it..." the brown-haired girl from Madrija said to herself as she drew near to the ominous and evil man...

Castille de Térro - Winter 2021

The air was heavy. Heavier than a mountain, and far beyond the usual tropical doldrum that could set itself on the nation's capital in a muggy spring day.
Strangely enough, both major political factions were united in their relative silence. The usually flamboyant Coalition Inyursta Primiéro was quiet where they would normally be saber-rattling and individual representatives making over-the-top performative gestures; perhaps wanting to avoid the sticky bomb of being seen as responsible for Bashriyyan savages mowing down all the hostages. Meanwhile the quieter but stubborn Coalition Doux-Liberalísmo, for all their isolationist hardliner arrogance, were abnormally refraining from speaking out against and condemning an invasion of Bashriyya; perhaps wanting to avoid the fallout should the terrorists decide to liquidate the hostages and public opinion swings overwhelmingly in favor of calling out the Jararacussu's again and resetting Bashriyya to zero.
The loudest was the Coalition Alternatív, who were jumping out of their seats to condemn and disassociate the offer of support and friendship from whatever the name of the Bashriyyan derka-derka gooblygroup was.
These were the kind of political situations that could sink a someone's career and their party's electoral chances fast than a squadron of AC/A-18Y2 Hydrophína fighters could sink a Lollohian surface warfare fleet.

A forward team of both ISD operators and Inyurstan Army Groupe de Gréva Alfa (GGA) commandos were currently en-route to Nifon. From there they would make contact with a team of Nifonese and proceed to Wenchuan as a quick-reaction force to secure the area around the airport and begin physical 'negotiations' with the terrorists.
Military liaisons, Calderone administration reps and ambassadors alike were also busy discussing "reinforcing" Inyurstan support positions in Tifya, Bashriyya's next-door neighbor. For as much as Bashriyya's physical geography was a curse, its political geography was a fortress in it's own right - Inyursta could not strike out against their enemy without finding a way for a neighboring country to allow access to their soil. (Fortunately Bashriyyia was obnoxious, troublesome and widely detested by its neighbors).
In times like these there was a bit of irony. La Républiqua D'Inyursta, for all its self-reliant bluster, ultimately had to rely on its allies to position itself ready to make its trade-mark no-holds-barred "habenero diplomacy".

Sugogoan-Tifyan Border Region - Present Day

Humming through the dry grassland and kicking up a cloud of dust behind them, a six-man team of Sugogoan motorbike riders rode through towards the target. Headscarfs flapped and kicked in the oncoming wind as the "motorized" warriors honed in towards gun range.
"GAK-GAK-GAK-GAK-GAK!" their MASAM-82K submachine guns roared.
Tight, but tall clouds of dirt and sand kicked up as the bullets ripped into the semiarid soil - but the real disappointment was the lack of plywood chunks erupting from the target.

"You have to brace the gun against your breast. Bracing it against your lower chest causes wild inaccuracy, bracing it against your shoulder interferes with your control of the bike." Sarillo explained to the militiamen, grabbing an empty SMG and sticking a fresh clip in it. "Bike please" he asked, and gestured for one of the Sugogoans to hand him one of their bikes.
The NIS spook then mounted the miniature vehicle and took off, driving through the standing plywood targets and firing off his gun in short bursts. Fragments and exploding chunks of wood flew from the would-be neck and shoulder regions of the standing wooden target boards - the ease of his skill while doing this had to make one wonder just how accustomed an NIS field agent was to assassinating targets while on motorbike.

The man calling himself Sarillo then wheeled the bike back over the Sugogoan militants, kicking down the stand to the motorbike and handing back the submachinegun.
"When we are done with you, you fine warriors will be the bane of the Arab invader, the terror that haunts him in the night. But we are not done, and there is still a ways to go... So grab a sip of water, reload, and try it again."

[PLACEHOLDER, SUGOGOAN CAPITAL CITY - Present Day

Dr. Udan Ganyifu was a pre-tenure professor working his way up through the academia ladder in [PLACEHOLDER] university. He sported an unshaven beard, but it was amazingly well-kept and manicured, and liked to wear a clean suit but did not hide his Islamic faith. A surprisingly well-to-do man, with both a higher standard of living than most other professors and seemingly more funds available to his research - especially when that historical research spoke positively of Bashriyya or any of its proxy groups.
In the context of the recent water crisis, he was commissioned to make a public statement dismissing much of the public vitriol and xenophobic rhetoric growing in Sugogo.

Based on historical sources, I think the people of Sugogo should be more welcoming and more forgiving of our Bashriyyan neighbors.
For example, I hear many Sugogoans of hateful heart talk about the Arab slave trade or supposed rapings, and they use this to open their minds to imperialism and lies against our neighbors. Yet, the historical fact that this was less of a "slave trade" and more of a labour agreement. In order to debunk the lies that are dividing our country and rushing us into a violent and bloody conflict, I have listed the truths below:

1) Arab slave trade - as I have stated above these were more of "labour agreements" than true slavery, where strong Afruikan men chose to persue rewarding careers that only the enlightened Arabs could provide. Participants of these "labour agreements" - again not slavery - got to travel and see new parts of the continent, some even got to sail the ocean and make it overseas!
2) Bashriyyan Rapes - many repeat the falsehood that Bashriyyan explorers - NOT INVADERS, explorers! - often raped the women of Sugogo and other countries they "explored" and that many women were kidnapped and taken back to serve in the harems of Bashriyyan nobility. However, there is not one shred of evidence that these sexual encounters were non-consensual.
3) Lake Sugogo belongs to Sugogo - The history says that this is false. Lake Sugogo was named such by Bashriyya due to their love of the Sugogoan people, not because it has always belonged to Sugogo. The idea that a country can "own" water is a colonialist lie invented by foreigners.
4) Bashriyyan Descent - Some conspiracy theorists have been spreading the rumour that Bashriyyans are descended from criminals and sex offenders banished from Riysa. They say this is true, yet how come criminals and sex offenders still exist in modern Riysa? Ha! I have DESTROYED this rumour with FACTS and LOGIC!!!

I urge my fellow Sugogoans to listen to the historians, and avoid these misinformation pitfalls designed by Inwerstan trolls and Palmyrian bot farms.
We Sugogoans have to do better.

On the surface, Dr. Ganyifu seemed like a normal professor with outspoken opinions; but on deeper inspected he reeked of being a foreign plant. [PLACEHOLDER FOR DIRTY FUNDS AND DIRTY BACKGROUND HERE].
However, despite his surface-level cover and first-degree cover as a pro-Bashriyyan shill, Dr. Ganyifu was actually on the (indirect, long-proxy, untraceable) payroll of Inyurstan National Intelligence Serivce (NIS). He was part of a larger PSYOPS campaign to unify Sugogo into a steady front against Bashriyya.
What they were working to create was actually a form of Second-Degree [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_propaganda]Black Propaganda[/url]. While a first-degree case of black-prop would have been poised to make it seem as if it were coming from Bashriyyan media or government, this second-degree prop was designed to make itself look like obvious Bashriyyan-funded black-prop. The advantage to this method - if done correctly - is that the recipient will naturally want to doubt these claims on their own and address them with skepticism. An organic negative perception is far more likely to be internalized than inorganic positive or negative perception.
Another bonus to this method is it still causes conscious awareness of certain factual aspects the other time might not want displayed. For example by saying things like "Ackychually Ba'ashriyyan Arab slavery was a good thing!" Dr. Ganyifu was still "in"advertently reminding everyone about the Arab slave trade in Northern Afruika.

Saddaka al-Wahdah Joint Air Base - Present Day

Dotted across both tarmac and hangar alike were a number of military aircraft, both Tifyan and Inyurstan. A loud, but clean and efficient roar of jet engines kicked into gear out on the runway. But instead of smaller-sized fighter jets or armed turboprop planes lathered in matte fatigues and intimidating face art, the aerial beast about to embark into the skies was more of the graceful sort.

From the outside, the plane looked like a simple civilian airliner - albeit a small and fancy one, but when everything else in the Inyurstan aerial arsenal was painted in obvious military colors with likenesses to snakes, a shiny slick coat of paint like a high-end jet airliner would lacquer itself in seemed like the perfect camouflage. Once in the sky, it would complete the act by flying in commercial routes between to 30,000ft (9,000m) - 36,000ft (11,000m) and avoiding obvious mission loops.
While sleek and sophisticated like the civilian J-370 airliner it was derived from and playing the role to mimic, this plane in particular was an ER-375J "Havoc Ultra" reconnaissance plane adept and well-suited to detecting electronic emissions from long distances over the areas it flew.

It would fly north over the sea from Tifya towards Eastern Eulabia, before cutting back down of Afruika and flying over Axumia into Sugogo within 60km of the Bashriyyan border on its return.

OOC: co - written with Bashriyyan Arab Islamic Republic

Sadr al-Nasheed sat at his desk, papers scattered all over the time had passed and things were getting chaotic. He was in desperate need for someone to recognize his act of war. He had been planning on reaching out to Nifonese political class for sometime, and now seemed to be the perfect time to do it he decided he would call up Baishou Gin who he viewed as potential ally who could lend support.

The dialled the phone, and it began to ring "Hello, may I speak to Baishou Gin? This is Sadr Ali Al-Nashid of the Bashriyyan Arab Republic."

Gin slowly picked up his phone. When his secretary informed him of an incoming call from the president of Bashriyya, the party elder was surprised.

"Greetings to you, your excellency" he said "What is the matter?"

Nashid was a bit nervous at first but decided to continue "Well have you seen the news?"

Nashid had been referring to the actions in Sugogo taken by the separatists.

"Of course I have" Gin answered "Yet I find it impossible to conclude how this matter concerns the Empire of Greater Nifon."

"Well, your friend Koijro seems to disagree with you." Nashid responded "I suspect he views Palmoids as his door into Afruika."

"Kojiro -sama has specified that North Afruika is not within our area of interest as of now. The Empire of Greater Nifon maintains an alliance with Palmyrion because of common security concerns. "

Gin in fact despised the alliance with Palmyrion, but agreed it was the wisest foreign policy choice as of now.

"Well perhaps Koijro could get those bloody Palmoids off our turf, listen you know about Bashriyyan activities in Wenchuan?"

Gin stopped, analysing what just was said Wenchuan was always a sore spot of Nifon. Both he and Maki Kojiro adhered to so called "Ishikawa Doctrine" - the doctrine that all of SFS was Nifon's sole responsibility and that Nifon had right to act in "protection" of the entire region. He suspected that Gunpeitai already had a suspicion of such a possibility, but it's admission opened a new can of worms that was impossible to close again.

"I have been briefed about a terroristic attack." Gin said "Are you suggesting that said terroristic attack was work of Bashriyyan government?"

"Not of my government, I have no control over what is going on there now."

"Your excellency did refer to it as Bashriyyan activities. One could conclude that such activities were in some manner sponsored by Bashriyyan government." Gin paused "Your excellency needs to remember that our Empire nearly went to war with Cassadia over a similar incident in Palmyrion. Should any links be found, the Bashriyyan government had struck crucial Nifonese interests."

Gin smiled.

"And Empire of Greater Nifon will see it's interests protected. "

"Well." Sadr shook "Well, you have to understand I am not like my father, I imagine you remember Muhammed Nashid's support for Nifonese Red Army in the 1980s?"

"Quite well. However your excellency's actions seem to speak something different than words. Therefore on behalf of Nifonese government I will suggest your excellency to make an official statement condening said activities... and swiftest withdrawal of all and any assets, should they be located in Wenchuan. Failure to do so will result in a proper consequences."

"You see, I have people in my Government that will not listen to me, I need help purging them but they spread terrorism all over the world. I don't really know how to explain it, my father created a vast network, a global army of terrorists."

"In Southern Lebaniyya, terrorists from my country detonated a bomb near a stockpile of ammonium nitrate they blew up half the port of Zidon and killed 220 people. I do not support these actions, I have never endorsed them, and I am not behind the Islamic People's War Group it is a group my dad formed to spread his brand of Pan-Islamism."

"Here is another event for you to look at, Inyurstan airliner hijacked in Wenchaun the terrorists were former Bashriyyan special forces and Wenchaunese Jihadists."

"I am trying to clean my country up but you see, I need your help I cannot do it, I will do anything you say." Sadr was getting desperate he was making a deal with the devil.

"Your excellency" Gin spoke "is the president of Bashriyya. If people do not listen to your excellency, your excellency compels them to listen. As president of Bashriiya, the international community will judge your excellency for it. I suggest your excellency gets to work. Or there will be consequences. And if your excellency is unable to, we have all the reasons to conclude Bashriiya is a failed state in need of... stabilisation" "

"Can you please stop referring to me as your excellency." It had gotten to Sadr

"It is a proper term in diplomatic protocol and I am not at liberty to break it, your excellency."

"Well Mr. Gin I understand that, but do you really think I'm excellent?"

"No, but it is a proper term to refer to a president, your excellency. And if your excellency is done with it, I request an answer on topic prieviously mentioned. If the Empire of Greater Nifon is to clear your excellency's mess, what will your excellency pay with?"

"Oil, I will even remove the Theedish so long as Nifon keeps the Red eyed menace away from us."

"But you see I have goals, I want to rule not just Bashriyya I want to overtake Tifya, Flyrhia, part of Sugogo, part Axiume and I want to project Bashriyyan power throughout Afruika and the Arab world. But I cannot do that with a 5th column in my country."

Sadr paused.

"I will pay with oil, I will even remove the Theedish so long as Nifon keeps the Red eyed menace away from us. But you see I have goals, I want to rule not just Bashriyya I want to overtake Tifya, Flyrhia, part of Sugogo, part Axiume and I want to project Bashriyyan power throughout Afruika and the Arab world. But I cannot do that with a 5th column in my country."

"I will give those concerns to the Party Standing Committee and see what they say." and with that, Gin hung up. But inside, he smiled. In his perception, Bashriyyan president was an idiot with overgrown ambition, who was going to pay for it.

Headquarters of the General Staff, Rostov City, National People's Republic of Rostovia

General Stepanov was drinking tea when there was a knock at the door. Colonel Zhukovsky's replacement stood waiting, a slip of paper in his hand.

"General, we have received a reply from Bashriyya." The officer handed Stepanov the hardcopy of the Bashriyyan message and stood in front of the general's desk.

"I assume that Our Vozhd has a copy?" Stepanov took a sip of his tea. There was a silence as he read the message. Colonel Zhukovsky's replacement cleared his throat.

"It appears that the Bashriyyans may be making preparations for a military offensive. See here, they ask for details of what military support we intend to offer. In addition, I have documented events that have taken place in Sugogo." The man handed Stepanov another document.

"I suggest-" The officer was cut short by Stepanov's tea which was suddenly ejected from the general's mouth in a fine mist. Spluttering slightly, Stepanov wiped his face.

"They want what? We only told them that because our Vozhd wants to keep the oil flowing! The whole thing was being blown out of proportion by your predecessor!" Stepanov paused for breath, rage turning his face a brilliant shade of purple. "You haven't been reading Zhukovsky's notes, have you?"

Colonel Zhukovsky's replacement shifted uneasily. "I have, General. I thought it would be useful to see where his thoughts were in order to get a handle on the situation. Honestly, I was not expecting the promotion to come at all, I thought Colonel Zhukovsky would remain in place for some years to come. Do you know where I could contact him? There are some points I'd like to clarify with him."

"Colonel Zhukovsky was retired." Stepanov hoped that the man would take the hint.

"Odd, I was under the impression that he had been promoted. I always did admire him and I was shocked to discover that all of his staff had been reassigned." The man was oblivious to Stepanov's glare. "There were some files that I found under the floorboards that I assumed he had forgotten when he moved on. Also, I can't seem to figure out what that funny stain behind the desk is. The one on the wall behind the chair."

"Get out!" Stepanov roared. Colonel Zhukovsky's replacement made his escape, uniform still spattered with tea. Stepanov picked up the phone and dialed the Committee of National Loyalty.

"Committee? Yes... Yes, I believe that Colonel Zhukovsky's files were recovered when he was liquidated... You have all of them, you say?.. I would recommend checking his office again... Yes. And you need to replace his replacement. Slava Lukhovu."

Stepanov put down the phone and sighed. He had some logistics to arrange.

The Rostov-Soviet Border, western Rostovia

The 477th Imperial Regiment of Rifles was a long and storied unit. One of the cream of the old Tsar's army, the regiment had seen action in virtually every conflict the Rostovian Empire had engaged in, festooning the men who served in its ranks with medals. Indeed, the regiment had been so highly regarded that its name had been resurrected following the collapse of the communist regime that had replaced the Empire. Unfortunately, the caliber of the men who made up its ranks had since fallen.

The border with the United Soviet States of Svadyetsk was considered one of the most dangerous postings in the Rostovian military. The 477th, one of the few units in the army that still had veteran troops, had spent much of the past ten years sitting in muddy earthworks in anticipation of an invasion that would probably never come. Concrete bunkers and fortified positions protruded from the earth. Antitank guns and machine gun barrels protruded from slits and over sandbag walls. Trenches, dugouts and other improvised positions festooned the spaces between the permanent fortifications. Everything pointed at the Soviets was spotted with rust, a testament to how long the artillery pieces and other guns had been waiting to see action. Fortifications were scarred from the impacts of stray shots from the other side and from age-old battles from wars fought before the men now occupying the casemates had been born. In contrast, across the vast sea of minefields, the Svadyetskan positions were formed of pristine concrete and the weapons on view positively sparkled when the sun came out.

Lieutenant Mikhail "Misha" Ivanovsky shivered in his threadbare greatcoat, listening to the snores of his men in the dugout. Flies buzzed over the sleeping forms of the haggard soldiers crammed into the freezing trenchworks. From across the heavily fortified border, the smell of frying bacon drifted. Evidently some of the Svadyetskans on the other side had decided to mess with the heads of their Rostovian counterparts. One of the slumbering men grumbled and shifted in his sleep, exposing a gaunt body ravaged by hunger. Another man scratched incessantly at the side of his neck, opening the sores that plagued his daily life. Stubble bloomed like mould on the faces of every man, Misha included. Outside the dugout, all was quiet save for the shifting of a sentry or the hum of insects over the nearby latrine pit. It was cold, miserable and damp. The senior officers had forbidden the lighting of fires, claiming that it gave away one's location. Misha suspected his superiors were tucked up in a nice heated bunker behind the secondary fighting positions.

"What time is it?" Bright, tired eyes blinked at Misha from within a sheen of ingrained dirt. The young private, whose name eluded Misha, was barely more than a boy, conscripted into the vast armies of the Lukhovist cause. Like many, he had come to the unit with bright hopes, determined to serve his country with all his strength. Months of border duty had since tempered his enthusiasm, though Misha had a feeling that it might be unwise to utter certain things in front of this tarnished bastion of fanatical patriotism.

"Still dark. The Reds are up though, as you can probably smell." Misha Ivanovsky was beset by a sudden craving for bacon, a deliciously salty treat that had crossed his tastebuds only once. He could still picture the glistening meat, the fat oozing clear grease and the areas scorched by contact with the pan. His family had eaten it with one eye on the door. Uncle Kolya the sailor had brought it, smuggled from one of the few ports abroad willing to trade with Rostovia. Shortly before his ship was due to sail once more, Uncle Kolya had been arrested, but not before he had been able to pass on the precious bacon. It had made a welcome change from the thin vegetable soup and rye bread that made up their diets. The army's rations of dubious meat soaked in sauce and served on the ubiquitous rye bread had hardly been better, though one's stomach didn't feel quite so hollow at night. Aware of the poor state of the Rostovians' food supply, their classless enemies had taken to wafting their meals over the border to torment them. As far as Misha knew, this had been the cause of at least three of the defections that had officially never happened in the last month.

The private opened his mouth to say something else but was interrupted by the sudden arrival of Colonel Pushkin, a bellicose man with a gut that strained against his belt and whose florid face spoke of a lifetime of good eating. "On your feet, men! Our Vozhd has a great assignment for us!"

There was a sudden scramble as the men of the 477th struggled to get up, shaking off the cobwebs. Across the border, the Soviet gun emplacements were brought to bear until someone noticed that it was only a small portion of the Rostovian forces that was in motion. The massive artillery weapons drifted back to their resting positions as the 477th marched away from the border in double time. On their way, they passed a battalion of fresh troops moving up to plug the hole in the defence line.

When the 477th reached the relative comfort of the main barracks situated behind the border fortifications, they found a large projector canvas waiting for them. Colonel Pushkin mounted a small lectern that had been wheeled out onto the parade ground. "This-" The projector snapped on, showing an outdated Rostovian military briefing prepared years previously in the event they ever had to deploy to Bashriyya. "-is Bashriyya. This little country is one of the recipients of Our Vozhd's support. As I have just been briefed by General Stepanov, I am here to inform you that we will be deploying to the miserable blot of sand in order to support them in their defence against this other miserable little sandblot." Pushkin indicated Sugogo with an extendable pointer.

"In order to prepare you for this deployment, the General Staff has produced this briefing." Pushkin paused momentarily as the image changed to that of Muhammad Nasheed, showing just how out of date this particular briefing was. The troops waited in silence as he attempted to find the right words. "This is... This is the father... Yes, the father! Of Sadr al-Nasheed, the man whom Our Vozhd has deigned in his benevolence to support. His country is threatened by-" The image changed to a picture of a bunch of Sugogoan militiamen in irregular uniforms and civilian clothes. "-the forces of Sugogo. These overgrown apes are savage, brutal creatures who will kill you at the first chance they get. Our allies may be inferior in the face of our genetic superiority, they may be men and women who have unnnatural relations with goats, but their deviancy is nothing in the face of these pathetic swine whose very appearance mocks the image of our Lord's creation. These beasts, descended from sinners, are your enemy. Show them no mercy!"

The 477th burst into cheering, mostly due to the sudden appearance of a detachment of political commissars. Lieutenant Ivanovsky trembled as they were marched towards the trucks which would take them to the airfield. He didn't want to die in a foreign land at the hands of monsters. Quietly, he reached beneath his shirt and placed a hand around the baptismal cross which lay beneath.

Headquarters of the General Staff, Rostov City, later that day

The communications officer wasn't keen to see General Stepanov again. The general came bearing a communication drafted by Osip Lukhov himself, formulated after Stepanov had rushed to brief the Supreme Leader on the developments in Bashriyya.

"I thought you said Our Vozhd didn't expect a war?" The communications officer started typing up the handwritten draft.

"Shut up and type." Stepanov wasn't in the mood.

After a few moments, the communications officer presented the final version for Stepanov's viewing.

To: The government of Bashriyya

In response to your earlier communication, Supreme Leader Osip Lukhov, Vozhd of the Rostovian People, Grand High Marshal of the Rostovian Armed Forces, Heir to the Tsar's Throne, Great Conductor of Human Happiness, Shining Beacon of Enlightenment, Champion of the Rostovian Faith, Honorary Doctor of Sciences at Rostov City University, Master Guide of the Revolution, Teacher of the Revolutionary Method, Grand Architect of the People's Happiness, Supreme Father of the Rostovian People, Grand Chairman-General Secretariat of the Mladorostovian Party, Vanguard of the Lukhovist National Front, Lord-Governor of Mirsk, Vanquisher of the Red Menace and Ally to the People of Bashriyya, has decreed that the National People's Republic of Rostovia shall deploy its forces in support of the Bashriyyan Arab Jamahiriyya.

Our Vozhd has authorised the deployment of 200,000 men from the standing forces. These troops are to be placed under the command of the Bashriyyan armed forces but are to retain their own officers to facilitate communication. In addition, Our Vozhd has authorised the deployment of 3000 of our ground attack aircraft to Bashriyya to support the ground forces. The first units will be airlifted to Bashriyya immediately with the remainder to arrive within a week.

In order to facilitate the deployment, the National People''s Republic requires that Bashriyya make available the necessary airfields to receive the troops.

Slava Lukhovu!

The communications officer looked concerned. "Do we even have three thousand attack aircraft?"

"No." Stepanov put down the message. "Take off a zero from the troop numbers and drop the aircraft down to fifty."

"But, Our Vozhd-" Stepanov cut off the communications officer's protest with a glare.

"Our Vozhd can be... impulsive. I will speak to him about the suitability of these numbers. After all, we don't want to overwhelmingly crush Bashriyya's enemies. It isn't good for national pride to have someone else do all the work for you."

After a moment's revision, the following message was transmitted to the Bashriyyan government:

Our Vozhd has authorised the deployment of the 477th Imperial Regiment of Rifles and the 91st Republican Guards Air Assault Division to Bashriyya. These troops are to be placed under the command of the Bashriyyan armed forces but are to retain their own officers to facilitate communication. In addition, Our Vozhd has authorised the deployment of 50 of our ground attack aircraft to Bashriyya to support the ground forces. The 477th Regiment will be airlifted to Bashriyya immediately with the 91st Republican Guards Division to arrive within a week.

In order to facilitate the deployment, the National People''s Republic requires that Bashriyya make available the necessary airfields to receive the troops.

Slava Lukhovu!

State Commission Headquarters
9:59 AM

As always, each member of the State Commission had made sure to arrive at least five minutes before the meeting officially began. A natural courtesy.

Six men were present. A rather small number of men considering how large the room was, and the amount of chairs at the table. Before 2001, the State Commission had been much larger. Following the present administration, power had centralised, and this was no longer the case. Nevertheless, the room had not changed; a harrowing reminder of the past. The process had not been particularly peaceful. President Mozhkin Turaniski, War Commissar Jesk Karayov, Exterior Commissar Lakersk Turnov, Interior Commissar Athier Veros, Intelligence Commissar Vekten Hayasal, and the Chief Officer for Ideological Affairs, Ivaken Taratysk. The six most powerful individuals in the Federation, together in one room. Together, they had the ability to shape the entire nation and the lives of those, even, beyond its borders. Six of the most loved and most reviled men you could find, depending on who you asked.

"Comrades." Said the President, dryly. "I have come here to discuss the question raised by Comrade Turnov regarding the recent accession of Bashriyya to the Fifth International and what this means for the current situation regarding Lake Sugogo."

Karayov shrugged. "Bashriyya wants Lake Sugogo. The sole reason they don't have it yet is Palmyrion. This is well-known."

"Yes," noted the Foreign Minister, "and I think it would probably do us credit to be involved. Not overtly, of course. I think we have enough international heat on our backs with the Aureumterran question at the moment. We must hold out the olive branch in one hand, and clutch a sword in the other behind our backs."

    "Indeed." Confirmed Turaniski.

Turnov continued. "I have discussed this with Comrade Turaniski, and he largely agrees. I propose that I make private contact with al-Nasheed and request, formally, a discrete insight into his intentions, and his government's involvement with the recent separatist developments in Sugogo. We will decide what to do from there."

"I must raise a concern." Interjected Karayov. "The S.R.D.F. should not be spread thin. We have the Rekkutomel and the budding situation in Iceland already on our plates, not to mention the general maintenance of our, ahem, friends and their security across Askander."

This earned him a smile from Turaniski. "Do not worry, Comrade -- I am sure if any aid arrives in Bashriyya, it will be of a number that will be both manageable for us but nevertheless substantial enough for them."

A previously neglected voice emerged, as Karayov sat back. "I do not trust al-Nasheed. He is a fool." Taratysk, the spy-master. "I personally do not think he can be counted on. We are far from the only people with stakes in Bashriyya. Bribery and deviousness goes a long way in that country. If we are to commit ourselves to aiding them, we need to have a hook on al-Nasheed."

"Or, alternatively," suggested Hayasal, Intelligence Commissar, "we manoeuvre ourselves into a position where a more amenable faction could arise." He shrugged. "The left is strong in Bashriyya, and it could grow stronger still. Like you said, bribery and deviousness goes a long way." The man grinned at Taratysk. "That's our specialty, is it not, Comrade Chief Officer?" He was met with a sly grin.

    "It is indeed."

Turnov was more apprehensive. "Were I a betting man - which I'm not - I'd say what you are suggesting is somewhat of a gamble, Comrades Taratysk and Hayasal. I do not like gambles. I am sure that the presence of our military forces in the region would be enough to instill a significant enough degree of alignment in the Bashriyyan government." This was met with agreement from Karayov.

"Not to mention, if such a state of affairs goes poorly, it places our military forces in somewhat of a sticky situation." said the ageing General. Taratysk laughed.

"Au contraire, Comrades, this is entirely a game of chance. We have two dice here, and we can choose to roll either. One dice is al-Nasheed. Boisterous. Proud. Corrupt. Stupid. With him, we do not roll the dice once. We roll the dice every time he so much as thinks about his relationship with us and the Fifth International. And if one of these dice rolls goes badly, our house of cards comes tumbling down. On the other hand, working with the man openly and secretly working against him, is a single dice roll. Once we put our cards in play, it either works or it does not. And if it does work, we need not worry so much again." He sat back in his chair, arms folded. While Karayov did not seem convinced, the gears behind Turnov's head were beginning to turn.

The President would break the silence. "There is no need to commit to any one path." He turned to Taratysk and Hayasal, sitting close together. "You two do what you do best. I want Bashriyyan officials on our payroll, I want our operatives in the country, and I want to make contacts with the left wing of the party. Comrade Karayov and Comrade Turnov will, of course, instruct their Commissariats to engage in their appropriate duties with regards to a legitimate but discrete offer of support to Bashriyya." He paused for a moment. "Have I made myself clear?"

Karayov bristled, but did not object. "You have, Comrade Turaniski." Everyone else, including Veros, quiet as always, reaffirmed the sentiment.

    "Excellent."

People's Federation of Reinkalistan
Exterior Commissariat

To: Sadr al-Din al Nasheed
Regarding: Reinkalistani S.C.T.O. Commitments to Bashriyyan National Security
Encryption: High

22nd February, 58th Year of the Revolution (2022 A.A./A.D.)

Mr. Nasheed,

The rapidly escalating situation by Lake Sugogo has not gone unnoticed by the People's Federation of Reinkalistan. The imperialist influence of the Palmyrian Royal Commonwealth continues to loom over all nations which aim to secure self-rule and sovereignty, and this continues to disturb those resolute peoples who are determined not to be the slaves of foreign masters. While Sugogo, content as it is to prostitute itself to the multinational parasites, continues to leech off of that which proud Bashriyya holds a stake in, a situation has emerged which can benefit both Bashriyya and Reinkalistan, as well as advance the anti-imperialist cause worldwide. The Sugogan irrigation projects pose a distinct threat to the well-being of the Bashriyyan people as well as the stability of the Bashriyyan government, and also empowers Palmyrion.

As I am sure you are aware, Reinkalistan is not particularly predisposed to allowing this state of affairs to remain as such, and we are fully cognisant of your desire to expand Bashriyyan sovereignty to encompass more, or all of, Lake Sugogo. Your passionate speech about their so-called "irritation projects" has proved as such, and, in keeping with the internationalist (yet staunchly anti-imperialist) outlook of the Reinkalistani people's state, I would like to privately extend an offer of diplomatic, and - should the need arise - military assistance.

We are somewhat averse to escalation in the region. However, the status-quo does not necessarily satisfy us either, and it most certainly does not satisfy you. And while, in a conventional conflict, it is fair to say that the seizure of the entire lake on behalf of Bashriyya is not out of the question presupposing a one-on-one confrontation, the international climate seems to suggest anything but this will be the case. The monopolists, financiers, and war-industrialists of Palmyrion naturally cry out in indignation at your righteous bid against Sugogan infringements -- for them, the money must flow, and that money flows on a river of blood. Any intervention in Sugogo, we fear, could lead to Palmyrion's involvement, and, perhaps, that of other hostile and belligerent states.

This means that, without Bashriyya receiving the proper support, the comprador-regime in Sugogo could very well remain in possession of most of the lake. This cannot do. As such, I would like to request your confidence in Reinkalistan that we be permitted to, if this situation escalates, provide the appropriate response.

Let Sugogo and their Palmyrian puppet-masters tremble.

Greg Dombrowski - Vendetta

"...thus, given the Sahar incident as a whole, our in-theatre advisors and commanders, as well as Griffin-Krugman, do believe that we must prepare for an imminent invasion of Sugogo by Bashriyya." the AFP Chief of Staff concluded the rather short presentation about the unfolding situation in Sugogo as the other Chiefs of Staff listened. "Do we have any questions?" he added.

The Navy Chief of Staff raised his hand, which the CSAFP recognised; the CSAFP then signaled for him to continue with his query. "How sure are we that the recent large-scale incursion - of a battalion-sized amount of raiders no less - has something to do with the Bashriyyan state, and not the action of independent actors?" he queried.

"I forgot to include this, but this is a broadcast that CID field agents have intercepted at around the time of the attack." CSAFP answered, quickly searching his laptop for the video of Muhammed al-Bittal announcing the creation of the Free Democratic Islamic Republic of Sugogo, and playing it once he found it.

Greetings my friends and brothers of Sugogo, my name is Muhammed al-Bittar I am former head of the Development Party and secretary of defense to Mustapha Omandi.

The whole room, the Chancellor and the Lakambini included, looked on with shock. 990 raiders taking over villages in less than an hour. An announcement of the FDNL announcing the creation of a separatist state. I wonder how fast the Sugogian military was able to respond... the Chancellor thought to himself.

"I reckon we need to deploy immediately, or should we merely put some troops on high alert?" the Lakambini asked, internally uneasy about the prospect of once again deploying Palmyrians into the meat grinder that was Afruika, almost 3 years after Bagongo. That Leiden and Ancor were wolves nipping at its borders and waiting for an opportunity to pounce didn't help.

"The most appropriate response would be to put some units on high alert, able to deploy immediately at a moment's notice." CSAFP replied, sighing at the prospect of overt conventional warfare at a continent that Palmyrion had made a seemingly bad impression in. "I am firmly confident that nearby nations friendly to Bashriyya would send reinforcements of their own." he added.

"With due respect, Field Marshal, we can't just wait until everyone else goes into the fray in order to act - we need to strike the iron while it is hot." the Chief of Staff of the Navy interjected.

"We cannot just make a rushed decision at the same time. We need to wait and see what they do." the CSAFP countered.

"And it might be too late to act by then! The Army has at least three airborne divisions on standby and ready for deployment at any given point in time. We shall strike if the iron is to heat up, lest it be too late for us!" the Army Chief of Staff said.

"I suggest we condemn the Sahar incident immediately, as it is raging in the news right now." the usually silent CDF Chief of Staff said, looking up from his moment of pensive thought as his colleagues bickered about the merits of deploying forces to Sugogo. Everyone in the room agreed unanimously, but the Marine Corps Chief of Staff raised concern that this might only provoke Bashriyya into making harsher actions. "I'm pretty sure it would provoke Bashriyya into becoming harsher and more extreme." the Marine Corps Chief of Staff replied.

"And that only puts them into a tighter spot as they commit even worse and worse actions. At the same time, we might be derided of as being too soft on the Bashriyyans, of pulling too many punches." the Chief of Staff of the Air Force remarked.

Finally the Lakambini decided to make a final decision, sensing that the discussion was heating up. "I propose putting an appropriate number of units on high alert; Chiefs of Staff, you are to send me a cumulative ORBAT of units placed on high alert no later than 5PM today. You have all afternoon after lunch. I will prepare a condemnation of the Sahar incursion later." she commanded, sternly.

Everyone in the room agreed resoundingly.

Wenchuan, Winter 2021

Commander al-Faisal looked toward the Inyurstan woman "Look at me you Inyurstan whore, I'm the captain now follow me!" he demanded, as two Wenchaunese fighters aimed rifles at her. Marcelina slowly raised her head. Internally she was praying to the Holy Spirit to protect her as she looked at al-Faisal.
"You know what my goal is?" He said as they both walked down the hallway, with the two Wenchuanese guards in their rear.
"What is your goal, monsénor?"
"It's to have a nice wife on some island somewhere, get away from all the international terrorism business you know."
"I would not know because I am not a terrorist"
"Of course you wouldn't your a woman, and women are quite foolish."
Marcelina said nothing, because there was nothing to say. She continued praying to make it out of this situation alive and unmolested, but she would not subject herself to groveling before this man. "Oh, are you worried? I don't plan to rape you Marcelina is it?" Marcelina was going to be protected from rape, but it did not mean she would live. "Do you know where I come from?" he said in dark raspy voice?

At first she was shocked that this terrifying man knew her name, but then she remembered that in her rush to put the contacts in she hadn't removed her name tag.
"Of course I am worried, who wouldn't be?" "Where do you come from?" Marcelina said, though if she had to guess she would guess Bashriyyan or Ishafstani considering those two are responsible for like 90% of all Islamic terrorism.
"I was born in a small village." He smiled. "You see in those days, our people were fighting the Zionist aggressor they came into our land and stole it. Forcing us to flee to other lands."
"The 'Zionist aggressor' invaded Arabia?" She said, under the impression it was Arabs who invaded everywhere else.
"Judean dogs came into Filistiniyyan land, we were forced to flee, I went to Riysa but my family couldn't settle down well so we went to Southern Lebaniyya, I was only 14 years old."
"Okay"
"You think its funny? You see the Phalangists came into our village they raped my mother in front of me and made me watch, they killed my father and all of my siblings and they sodomized me."
"I never said it was funny. That is horrible; but what does it have to do with me?"
"The Revolutionary movement made a counter-attack and pushed the Phalangists out of the South, there was a cease fire. War had taken my childhood from me, my innocence. I am Filistiniyyan I have always dreamed of the freedom of my people. I was born on the battlefield, raised on the battlefield. We were hunted like dogs, living in shanty towns in Beyrouth. By Allah we survived because we fought. I was in the Tel Al-Nazim refugee camp, and that is when I met him."
"Forgive me, but I don't know any of those names."
"I don't expect you to know those names, Inyurstans are a very proud, narcissistic people. Do you know who he was?"
"Was he another terrorist?"
"He was Muhammed Ali Al-Nashid, and he took us in. Me and the other child soldiers."
"So yes."
"You may call him a terrorist, but for us he was a liberator. He sent in better weapons, even flew to Lebaniyya personally to the areas we controlled and helped rescue our people. It was Tel al-Nazim I met him. He took me to Bashriyya and raised me and the other orphaned child soldiers as his own. He was a father figure to us, that is why we took you and your passengers hostage, to fulfill that man's dream as he languishes away in your prisons. You see for us Freedom fighters, this is our way of thanking such a great man that God gifted us with. Our goal is not free you people, it will be to kill you all, to make an example of you all. However, you will be kept alive for much longer we do not desire women. I'm taking you to meet the other man who Nashid saved."
He opened up a door, walking her into the Airport infirmary. Standing inside was a Bashriyyan Colonel in full uniform, in fact the same man who organized the operation. However this was not the man she was to meet, he emerged from the shadows. The man wore a white lab coat and pol pot style glasses, he was an Arab man of Filistiniyyan descent.
"My name is Basil al-Abub and I have such wonderful things to show you." he smiled and grinned. The two guards made Marcelina sit down in a chair. She said nothing. Her fear was at this point uncontrollable, and she could now no longer control her shaking.

"You see if we were going to rape you, which would be fun for us we would have forced one of your friends to watch." he laughed. "You see the age of the Zionists dogs and the Crusaders is over, the Umma will rise up and take over the world. The time has come for us to assert our dominance over our enemies. We are planning a global Islamic world order which can only be established by revolutionary political terror." Basil said.
Faisal then said "And you Marcelina are going to birth it from your womb! I'm sure you wonder what that entails?" He showed some plastic explosives.
"I... I refuse." Marcelina replied, stuttering.
"Hahahahahaha, You can't refuse. Let me tell you something Marci is that your nickname?" he put his fingers around her chin and grinned at her "You see, your going to be the first hostage we release. You wont remember a thing when this is done."

Her head came forward suddenly, in a last ditch head-butt as her hands flailed in an attempt to push the rancid, terrifying man off of her.
"My head, you bitch!!!" Basil said in much anger "Beat her ass." he ordered.
The terrified woman scrambled on the floor in an attempt to escape, her head throbbing from the move she had just pulled.
Following Basil's command, the two Wenchanese guards began kicking her in the stomach and restraining her hands behind her back with zip-ties
"Calm down woman." he said "We are going perform surgery, the first bomb in your intestines. The 2nd one in another place they will not expect."
"Do you see what sort of men we are?" Faisal said
She screamed in terror, but did not stop fighting. Even with the restraints she could still thrash her legs back and hit them in the shin.
"Sociopathic terrorist monsters is what you are!"
"Someone knock the bitch out." ordered Basil
The mysterious Bashriyyan officer in full uniform walked over, he produced a syringe with some sort of serum in it and handed it to one of the Wenchaunese guards.
He then pulled out a Browning high-power.
"Roll the bitch over." he said
Marcelina kept kicking and screaming, doing everything left in what little power she had to either escape or force them to shoot her.
As the Wenchaunese guard began to put the serum near her neck, he was distracted from his Type 56 rifle - the Colonel shot him first and then shot the other guard before he could fire his rifle. Faisal then pulled for his gun but the Colonel managed to shoot him as well. Basil however managed to escape, ducking back and disappearing behind the rearward exit.
Unsure what was going on, but knowing she needed to seize the moment Marcelina scrambled across the floor and came to her feet, tripping a few times as she tried to make it for the door.

The Colonel tackled her
"Get down you stupid bitch. You're only going to get yourself killed, Basil is going to order them to kill the hostages. They are probably also going to send some guards to this area as well, Basil is pissed that he couldn't stuff that bomb in your lady parts. The sick bastard. You were going to be the ultimate example, they were going to free you and then remotely detonate the bombs that would have been placed in your body all of this was going to be filmed. It was to be shown on global television."

Unable to make heads or tails of the situation, Marcelina sobbed as her body was pinned under the weight of the colonel. Heavy, painful thumps echoed through her head as the reality of the headbutt slowly overwhelmed the adrenaline.

"Listen, I need you to follow me. I'm going to help you escape, but I need to warn you they are likely going to send a corrupt fake Counter terrorist unit into the building which will get rid of all witnesses. The Islamist warlords here are on the pay of an entire network of people. You're going to have to follow me, now that this plan failed they are likely going to kill everyone."
He got off of her and stood up. This work is not pretty, I had to kill some people and get in deep with these guys."
"Who... Who are you?"
"I'm Bashriyyan that is all you need to know. Now listen you Inyurstan whore, we need to get the bloody vile Hell out of here. The death squads are going to descend on this place, Basil is a mad man with insane contingency plans."

Terrified, confused, lost without a clue; Marcelina was living a nightmare. Nothing made sense any more. She did not know who this man was or why he had saved her, but she sensed he may actually be her only chance of surviving - though even then she wasn't sure he was not just fucking with her head as part of another cruel terrorist prank.
"Why should I trust you, man from Bashriyya who calls me a whore?"
"Listen, I just shot three of the assholes who were literally getting ready to put a fucking bomb in your womb, how about that for trust? I had to make a decision, I'm supposed to be under deep cover right now I was originally going to let them open you up to avoid blowing my cover but my conscience wouldn't let me."
A rightful answer in any other situation would have been to ask what was stopping him from doing similar or from shooting her, but at this point she figured putting those ideas in his head won't help her chances of survival.
Instead she said nothing and simply nodded at him. She would never trust him, but she could be convinced to follow him.
He took the zipties off of her hands
"Good, then lets go. Remember you avoided being remembered as the person who literally had a bomb inside of them that exploded."
Taking only a quick few seconds to unbuckle the straps and discard her shoes, Marcelina nervously followed the strange man.
"That was their plan, they were laughing when they were discussing it too."
"And what is your plan, strange man from Bashriyya who calls me a whore?"
"Woman, can you just shut up? that's the exit we need to get out through that section." He pointed, "I have a vehicle parked there."
Marcelina followed him towards the exit, still not certain that it was the right move - but in this dire situation it might be her only move...
He opened the door and exited revealing a vechile parked outside, an black truck
"Get in the passengers seat silly woman." the man opened up the driver's door and got inside, while the sound of gun fire and screams could be heard from coming inside of the building.
She stepped out into the chilly winter air and climbed into the vehicle. The cold, icy paved ground hurt her feet almost to the point she wondered if removing her seemingly impractical shoes was the right move.
Nervously, she opened the door and got in the passengers side.

Outside a group of men began firing pot shots at the truck.
"Allahu Akbar" the men shouted
"We better get the Hell out of here." The truck was speeding. "Hold on."
While he talked, Marcelina removed the nametag from her uniform and began fidgeting with it, seemingly out of nervousness.
A Bashriyyan super-hind then appeared and began opening fire on the airport terminal. "They are doing their clean-up op."
"Why are they firing on their own people? Aren't their still loyal gunmen in the terminal?" Of course as soon as she asked this, Marcelina remembered she had just witnessed him shoot his own people.
"Those Wenchuanese gunmen know too much, you see we discussed a lot more in front of them then we should have. Basil will be okay though, he ordered the assault. They were going to kill all the hostages regardless, they did not originally intend to kill the Wenchense gunmen. Well, later they would have."
At that point innate terror struck Marcelina. The situation, the infighting, his words "...we discussed", something didn't sit right with her.
"...we..."
By all logic she was merely witnessing clean-up, and it would seem this man was less of a conscientious defector and more another cog in the machine who simply decided to start clean-up early.
"What do you want with me?"
"Well, you know the saying in Mafia movies? You never leave the mafia? I killed one of the men, who would have been involved in the clean up. One of our leader's most loyal men. I betrayed brother who was willing to go all out with the mission, which means I have a target on my head. Basil wasn't expecting that I would shoot Faisal, you were to be knocked out and handed over in negotiations. ...With the package inside of you of course. They wanted camera crews as I said before to be present as you were returned."
"What would killing me have accomplished?"
"It would have been a symbol, of our revolution. You see tomorrow is the anniversary of Nashid's coup. It would have been celebratory for them. These men are militant Sufis, mystics for them it was ritualistic. I infiltrated their group, and didn't want to assist them this far. It started to bother me, they run drug-trafficking networks, human traffking, arms traffking."
It was logic that she could not comprehend. Shaking her head as she turned to look out the window, Marcelina simply opened her mouth in shock with nothing to say.
"What would their symbol have accomplished?"
"Well they would have killed an Inyurstan by putting a bomb inside of them. It was never met to be logical it was just sick. It was racial hatred, Faisal probably noticed you had eye contacts on... If I can tell, I know he could."
Surprised, Marcelina flicked down the passenger side mirror to look in her eyes. Yet, they appeared the monotone shade of dark brown as the contacts had intended.
"How? How can you tell?"
"Just a weird intuition, after you've murdered enough people and you've done enough spy work you can just smell the amateurs. "

"FDNL" Assault on Lake Sugogo, Near Bashriyyan border

An additional 1,000 fighters from Bashriyya's southern command invaded Sugogo, these were Bashriyyan troops but officially they were members of the FDNL. They came in dressed in civilian clothing mixed with their BDUs to give the impression they were a rebel army, leading them would be none other then former Sugogan President and Bashriyyan puppet Omandi man of half-black half-arab descent who was unpopular to the majority black population but loved by Sugogo's arab population. This was man who was cruel and ruled by the gun and collectivized wealth of the black population to redistribute to Arabs. Now he was back and this time to take vengeance on blacks who overthrew him and forced him to flee to Bashriyya. In his mind this was not against all blacks but the reactionaries who supported the Palmoid intervention in Sugogo that betrayed his people in his mind.

Once the 1,000 additional troops had arrived, all of them in reality Bashriyyan Arab Army soldiers, claiming to be Arab rebels from Sugogo and Bashriyyan volunteers, they began rounding up blacks in various villages. They were questioned "Are you collaborating with the Palmoids Kaffir?" a Bashriyyan "FDNL" fighter asked "Damn you Bashriyyan dog, you are Bashriyyan army, you do not represent Sugogan people stop lying to our people!" the Sugogan villager responded

the "FDNL" fighter laughed, as he fired two bullets into the black man's kneecaps, the black man screamed in pain, as another Bashriyyan forced a funnel into the man's mouth and made him drink bleach as he drowned on the burning chlorine bleach going down his throat.

Another Sugogan man was grabbed and sodomized with a broomstick, then one villager had his beaten in with a shovel until he died.

Bashriyyan "volunteers" began throwing grenades into villagers homes, burning down their homes, raping every woman and even men in sight, and not sparing any man, woman or child from the rapid fire of their assault rifles. The Bashriyyans wanted a total clean up of the village, they could not have Sugogans knowing this was a Bashriyyan invasion after all being disguised as a group of "moderate rebels".

The Pro-Government blacks were now being summarily executed, shot, raped, sodomized, burned alive with flamethrowers, some buried alive, other forced to dig their own graves and then shot, and many were lynched. The FDNL's assault on the collaborating black population was swift and brutal. The 1,000 men began moving across the side of Lake Sugogo and killing everyone that would not submit to FDNL rule, they then settled down and President Omandi appeared via webcam and gave a speech to whole world.

"In the name of Allah the Beneficent and the Merciful, greetings It is me President Omandi I have returned to liberate my people. The Sugogan Government is corrupt and would not hear my people's cries for freedom, so we the members of the FDNL have returned for national liberation and to declare a new state away from corrupt Sugogo, we are against the racism of the current Government and we seek to represent all Sugogans Black, and Arab, Muslim and Christian. We fight for freedom, democracy and tolerance. We are the Front for Development and National Liberation and this is our new state and our call to arms, Sugogans fight your Palmyrion masters you have nothing to lose but your chains. The Democratic Republic of Sugogo is ready to uphold and defend the headquarters of the Revolution, by overthrowing the Palmoid imperialists."

Sugogans were now being kidnapped en masse and transported back to Bashriyya to various locations where they would be used for the national interest of Bashriyya. In one area in Sugogo a make-shift school was built where Sugogans would be bombarded with propaganda and anti-Sugogan revisionist history, forced to listen to hours after hours of propaganda.

Greetings comrade, I am a very happy man to have received your letter. We are in desperate need of Diplomatic and Military support, our military goals in Sugogo are the following.

1. Bringing in troops in plain clothing to act as insurgent forces not officially affiliated with Bashriyya to take Lake Sugogo.
2. Bashriyyan forces will begin use of rocket artillery
2. S.C.T.O forces to perform No-Fly zone to prevent reactionary forces from engaging in ethnic genocide of Bedouin Arabs living near Lake Sugogo.
3. S.C.T.O FORCES to bomb the aqueduct, as well as the Sugogan air-force to effectively cripple the Sugogan Government, they should also bomb all of Palmyrions Uranium mining operations, we would recommend going for maximum destruction. Utilizing Thermobaric "FOAB" style bombs, White phosphorus, cluster munitions, and napalm
4. Revolutionary forces to invade, Bashriyyan troops to overthrow the Sugogan Government and install a new revolutionary regime

If you could provide this military support in coordination with us It would be a relief for our people, in addition to diplomatic talks with Nifon and other powers that seem to want to meddle in our affairs.

His Excellency,
President and Sheikh Sadr Al-din Al-Nasheed

Situation Room, Royal Citadel
Aragon, D.C., Royal Palmyrian Commonwealth

FINAL STAND - Epic Heroic Hybrid Music by Atom Music Audio

The Chiefs of Staff looked on as the Vice-Chancellor of National Defence, the Chancellor, and the Lakambini all ready steadily through the short document they gave her: the WARNO, the ORBAT, and, should the Lakambini, VCND, and the Chancellor authorise, the OPORD for the deployment of Palmyrian troops to Sugogo. The room was tense, knowing that at any point in time the Lakambini could have them ordered to be deployed within the next 24 hours - or maybe right now.

A knock on the door disrupted the silent tension of the Situation Room - and the Lakambini ordered the door opened for whoever wants to speak. It may be urgent enough to warrant notifying her even while she's having an important meeting.

The door guards opened the door to let in a seemingly haggard CID officer hurriedly rushing into the room. "Ma'am, this is urgent." he started. "We just confirmed 1,000 more troops crossing the border." he continued, hurriedly placing a CID dossier on the table next to the Air Force Chief of Staff. The Chiefs of Staff handed over the file to the Lakambini, who, after skimming through it, passed it along to the others.

"Do you need to bring this document back with you?" the Lakambini asked, to which the CID officer responded "No need, ma'am.". The Lakambini then authorised his leave, after which the door guards closed the door.

"It seems the situation is that grave, Your Majesty. If we act later then it might be too late." the AFP Chief of Staff remarked, urging the Lakambini to decide immediately.

The Lakambini, after a pensive moment of thought, finally made her decision to have more troops deployed to Sugogo. "I want boots on the ground and wings in the air within the next week. Do it." she commanded, sternly and simply.

16 February 2022
Vicinity of Lake Sugogo

Village-clearing operations have been going steadily well for the Sugogian Army over the past 16 hours as they cleared every village of Bashriyyan raiders when 1,000 more raiders poured in from Bashriyya. At this point, the situation had become more dire for the Northeastern Military Command, now that 19th Infantry Brigade was close to being matched man-for-man when it came to combatant troops.

The Northeastern Military Region readied and deployed yet another Infantry Brigade, the 20th, into the fray. At the same time, the Northeastern Military Region authorised the use of airstrikes and more liberal use of heavier artillery (such as howitzers and MRL systems) against the Bashriyyan raiders; however, no incendiaries and thermobarics were allowed, considering still the risk of collateral damage.

Those units that have already recaptured villages braced for impact, digging in and fortifying the village with whatever they could find to prepare for the next wave of Bashriyyan invaders. Units that were still in the process of recapturing villages would go on doing so, but at a slower pace to give time to build fortifications to brace for the coming wave of Bashriyyan raider reinforcements.

On national television Sadr made a speech, from one his Military residences in the South near Sugogo.

"My fellow Bashriyyans recently we have heard reports of Sugogan army committing genocide against Sugogan Arabs, I am today declaring a new No fly zone over Sugogo and am responding with artillery to back up the FDNL in their fight to liberate the oppressed people's of Sugogo. This is a war of freedom against state sponsored terrorism. My fellow Bashriyyans may God be with us in this war to protect the oppressed! Any jets flying over Sugogo, especially Palmyrion linked jets will be shot down. This is warning Palmyrion do not test me!"

Bashriyyan troops preparing missile missile for launch

The Bashriyyan Military began to open fire with 15 V11 Wasserfall ballstic missilesto pound Sugogo's Aqueduct, for the Bashriyyans these missiles were to be an integral part of the plan which was destruction of the Aqueduct. Sadr sat in a bunker overlooking border through binoculars "We will make the Sugogans pay for what they have done." Sadr watched from the bunker as missiles were launched off flying toward the Aqueduct, now the party had finally started!

Bashriyyan squadron of 24 jets launched to bomb al-gerja airbase in Sugogo

A squadron of 24 Bashriyyan Dornier Do 458 fighter jets took flight from Al-Nimr airbase the target was none other then Al-Gerja air-force base the Sugogan air-force was about to be attacked, as a squadron of planes crossed the Bashriyyan air-space into Sugogan airspace flying straight over the border the target was none other then Al-Geria airbase and the very lacking Sugogan airforce. Al-Geria airbase was the closest to the Bashriyyan border.

Meanwhile back across the Bashriyyan Sugogan border, Sadr was approached by General al-Sayfi "Sir, we have reports that our forces have been engaging in atrocites at the border, if this gets out it could make us look bad." Sadr was shook up "What? Tell them to cease this bullshit immediately, also we need to fix this conflict our way, I want all FDNL forces to begin taking positions at civilian locations that way if the FDNL gets bombed so do Sugogan arab civilians, we can use this to our advantage and it will help our narrative that we are preventing ethnic genocide."

Upon receiving these orders, FDNL commanders began having their troops get a little too close to civillian positions, the goal being to force the Sugogan military to either stand down or to make it appear as if Sugogo was targeting Arab civilians. They went to mosques, schools, and various areas where Arabs would congregate to take position.

People's Federation of Reinkalistan
Exterior Commissariat

To: Sadr al-Din al Nasheed
Regarding: RE: RE: Reinkalistani S.C.T.O. Commitments to Bashriyyan National Security
Encryption: High

23rd February, 58th Year of the Revolution (2022 A.A./A.D.)

Mr. Nasheed,

We have received your request. The People's Federation of Reinkalistan is not predisposed to the utilisation of many of the weapons you suggest, yet nevertheless military and economic support for your struggle shall be forthcoming. Already, the War Commissariat has received a command from His Excellency the President to dispatch a Reinkalistani peacekeeping force to the region.

However, I have discussed with the Intelligence Commissariat and it appears that reports have emerged from Sugogo that certain elements from the recently-dispatched volunteer fighters of Bashriyya have been, in part, responsible for a large degree of crimes against humanity committed upon the native population. I cannot stress this enough, speaking on behalf of the entirety of the People's Commission for State Affairs: the reputation of Reinkalistan, and the Socialist Cooperative Treaty Organisation as a whole, relies upon an image of humanitarianism and socialism. The Sugogan people you attack are not cattle or undesirables, they are merely misguided by their corrupt foreign masters into believing they are on the right side of history.

Of course, the State Commission understands that you are a reasonable and benevolent man. We know that you are not predisposed to such crimes, and that your heart is truly with the victims of Palmyrian neo-imperialism in Sugogo. As such, we would like to recommend that your forces be put on a tighter leash and that you openly prohibit violations the type of which we hear from Sugogo. We understand that you desire vengeance upon those who have disgraced your country such, but you must also understand that Reinkalistan must maintain its foreign image and hold true to its principles. If the situation becomes diplomatically undesirable for Reinkalistan, then Reinkalistan's support will have to come into question. The State Commission does not want this to happen, but our hand may be forced.

In short: a statement condemning systemic ethnic violence, from you and President Omandi, would be very much a relief to those who wish to aid your righteous struggle. I am sure you will be able to convince President Omandi of the good judgement this attitude would display.

Signed: Exterior Commissar L. Turnov

Tripoli Airbase

Sixteen planes had, a few hours ago, touched down in the smothering equatorial heat of Afruika. Their very presence implied that the S.R.D.F. meant business. Four wings with four planes in each -- Fifth Generation stealth fighters, the P.R.A.F.'s vaunted TkaN-X "Hawthorn". Now, countless cargo and transport planes were doing the same, carrying mechanised vehicles, soldiers, and self-propelled artillery to be sent south. The military deployment was pricey, but it would be necessary to place a large force in Bashriyya, and quickly. While the Bashriyyans had started their attack, their quick advance provided the Reinkalistani forces with ample opportunity to exploit the albeit brutally-obtained gains of the FDNL.

All in all, two thousand soldiers had been initially deployed. They were arriving would be sent south right away, battalion by battalion, to join the fighting. Lt. Colonel Iosef Yariskavich, in charge of the 8th Mechanised Battalion of the Reinkalistani Red Army, watched nervously. Beside him stood his second-in-command, Maj. Mikhail Gorchovsky, a short, paunch, sunglasses-wearing man with a walrus moustache and a cigarette between his lips. This had been an incredibly hastily-organised intervention. Men of different units chucked together haphazardly, planes scrambled from every part of the army. Yariskavich personally didn't know why this stretch of sand full of genocidal tin-hat despots was so important. "So," he said to the Major, "why do you reckon we're here?"

Gorchovsky lifted the cigarette out of his mouth. "It's the damn Fifth International, innit? These fuckin' clowns" - he gestured to a distant group of Bashriyyan soldiers - "just so 'appened to sign on and we, like the muppets we are, agreed to it. Now, to save ourselves lookin' like idiots, we've gotta go help them win this stupid tussle they're having."

This earned him a laugh from his superior. "Y'know, if I wanted to, I could have you arrested for talk like that." He said, jokingly.

Gorchovsky scoffed. "A'ight then, go ahead!" The bluntly-spoken Major grinned. "Ain't that in our little book we've got to learn? 'Committed Vanguardists have total faith in the Communist Party' an' all? I dunno, I think I'm a bit too cynical to be a committed Vanguardist." He took a long drag on his cigarette. "But hey, I can do a mug's job like this in the steaming hot fuckin' shithole desert for the Party, so I must be alright, eh?" He laughed, finishing off the cigarette and flicking it to the side.

"Yes," nodded Yariskavich, "and you make better company than those 'True Believers', to boot."

"Nuffin' worse than a true believer -- insufferable cunts, the lot of 'em."

"I could so have you arrested, it's almost funny."

"Go on then, country-boy! Chuck me in a work camp!"

"And inflict you on the prison guards? That'd be a bit cruel."

    "Oh, fuck off."
