Minister of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the Cabinet ministry responsible for
drafting and implementing government policy in the field of foreign
affairs of the Korean People's Democratic Republic (KPDR). Our mission is
to promote the rights and interests of the Korean PDR on the
international stage, ensure the protection of the rights of KPDR citizens
and organizations abroad, provide favorable conditions for advancing our
country's economic interests abroad, and to collect information on and
study the conditions and tendencies in international development.

Foreign Policy
The Korean People's Democratic Republic is committed to a foreign policy line of independence, self-reliance,
peace, cooperation, and development; to a policy of openness, diversification, and multilateralization of
international relations. Our country seeks to actively engage in international economic integration. The Korean PDR
is a reliable friend and partner, actively taking part in international and regional cooperation processes.
We strive to develop relations with the nations of the world and with international organizations on the basis of respect
for each other's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity; agreeing to non-interference in each other's
internal affairs, non-use or threat of force, and settlement of disagreements and disputes by means of peaceful negotiation.
Procedure for Accreditation
All diplomatic missions and consulates seeking accreditation must submit the relevant form, as well
as a note formally representing the intention of the sending government to the State Protocol Service.
