At Muslimbol International Airport, Schonbrunn’s plane finally landed. The airport was on par with an above average Western one, & had a sign that said “Welcome to Muslimbol, Insaanistan” in a plethora of languages. On guard at the airport were Jundallah fighters; they also now had taken over from the Insaani Airport Safety Officers (IASO) in the wake of Asim’s expulsion & the chaotic power vacuum that followed. They were visibly armed & stationed at the airport’s entrances, around its perimeter, and inside the airport itself. Their uniforms were camouflage & had the previous Insaani flag on each shoulder, with the current one enclosed in a seal on the right uniform pocket. On their camouflaged caps was the banner of the Jundallah, green & yellow with the words “Allahu Akbar” on it. The Insaanis passed them without real care, well aware they’d have no trouble if they followed the rules already in place & didn’t try anything violent.
“Passport please, sir…”
“Ma’am, could you please step through the scanner?”
“I’m sorry, but your bag is too big to…”
“Mask over your nose, please, ma’am, for the sake of Allah…”
Schonbrunn & his delegation were met by a female Jundallah fighter.
“Welcome to Insaanistan. Please, remove your shoes, & anything made of metal.”
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركته-Peace be with you!

The International Assembly members have agreed to adopt a provision that provides people traveling to the Earth Universe a special ID telling people they are from an alternate universe. For example a man from Mosarat traveling to Insaanistan will have a special card valid for the time he is staying In Insaanistan that will tell people he is from Mosarat not Egypt.

Yeltsin looked back at The Ajudant
"Who's squadron?"

Presidential Office, Sankêuyong, Federal Republic of Gongsi

President De Dangnan tapped his pen on his desk, contemplating how he should approach the ongoing issues in Insaanistan. The sudden impact COVID-19 had on Gongsi saw the complete removal of all diplomats and military deployments from the North African nation and kept both his and the National Assembly's focus in an iron grip. With things beginning to wind down at homenow, the time was coming for Gongsi to reenter the international scene, and the most pressing matter was still that of Insaanistan.

But it wasn't only quelling civil strife that President De had to consider. Worryingly, forces from New Antarcticania had moved into the neighboring state of Socialist State of Sharfaristan and has started to stir up trouble trying to provoke a war with Insaanistan. Send too many troops and the Antarcticanians will use it as reason enough to declare war, too few and he risked making Insaanistan isolated and ripe for invasion. But no matter what decision he made he knew the encroaching Antarcticanians needed to be addressed.

Finally making up his mind, President De began to pen the first draft of his letter to Insaanistan. Then one to the Socialist State of Sharfaristan. When the final versions were typed up and edited, De submitted the letters. There was still a part of him that worried he had chosen incorrectly, but the unacceptable alternative was to stall forever and do nothing.

To the Government of the Republic of Insaanistan,

The Federal Republic of Gongsi apologizes for our abrupt departure of your nation following the events of your most recent civil conflict. It was never our intention to take part in such a conflict and leave the Insaani people to clean up our mess. Circumstance beyond our control, such as the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, forced us to abandon all our international activities while we tried to protect the citizens we have sworn an oath to serve.

Still, our relationship with Insaanistan is of great importance to us, and we wish to see our friends recover from their hardships and find the peace they so rightly deserve. With this objective in mind, we would like to formally ask permission to send an expeditionary force to Insaanistan to help both secure its borders and eliminate those who would seek to harm Insaanistan from within. We are willing to send a division of 15,000 soldiers and a number of naval vessels to aid Insaanistan wherever they are needed. We are willing to comply with any regulations you wish our expeditionary force to follow while within Insaanistan.

We also would like to send a diplomatic representative to Insaanistan as well to help work out some of the ongoing political strife that has recently emerged. Our intention is to act as a neutral third party in these negotiations as our representative Mr. Iên did in earlier Rome. We are confident that a peaceable, agreeable solution can be found and wish to help increase the chances such a agreement can be reached. When the negotiations reach their conclusion, we are also interested in setting up an embassy in Insaanistan to further cement our new friendship and bring our two peoples closer together.

We are sure much of this requires discussion and deliberation. We patiently await your response.

Signed,
De Dangnan, President of the Federal Republic of Gongsi

To the Government of the Socialist State of Sharfaristan,

The people of Gongsi empathize with your people and the worries surrounding recent developments. For most of our history we, too, have endured the fear of dangers on our borders and worries about those who would seek to ignore the boundaries of our sovereignty. We know these fears all too well. But we also know from experience that these fears can sometimes become self-fulfilling prophecies.

In the interest of keeping the innocents of Socialist State of Sharfaristan and its sovereignty safe and free, we would like to send a diplomatic representative to discuss these trying times with you and hopefully find a peaceful solution that will not infringe on your nation's freedom, rights, or security. We believe your right to self sovereignty is vital and wish to safeguard it from those who disagree. If you would like, we can ensure this ambassador is from our own Socialist party, the GSI, so as to also help protect your own political identity.

Though we have aided Insaanistan in the past, we see ourselves as neutral in the world of international politics. We have endured the decades of the Cold War maintaining this neutrality and will not forsake it now. It is better that the world should avoid yet another war and loss of life than any temporary gain we might acquire from choosing sides and opting for war. And, should this diplomatic course prove successful, we would additionally like to swap embassies to help facilitate further peace, diplomacy, and prosperity with the Socialist State of Sharfaristan.

We are sure much of this requires discussion and deliberation. We patiently await your response.

Signed,
De Dangnan, President of the Federal Republic of Gongsi

Khatijah's Apartment, Muslimbol, Republic of Insaanistan

When Asim was overthrown, Fasial and Khatijah were some of the first to begin trying to unite the people of Insaanistan under one ideology: Islamic Socialism. They found some initial success, but progress hit a dead end when those sympathizing with their ideas were labelled "Communists", which was still completely outlawed within Insaanistan. Still, the former GSI insurgents (now rebranded as the Gerakan Zakat Insaani or the "Insaani Zakat Movement") had not been sitting entirely idle. The few remaining members of the ex-GSI operatives that didn't leave or were not imprisoned carefully vetted Insaani citizens who might be receptive to their ideology and kept up a low profile recruitment network in Muslimbol. Most of the time, though, there was little they could do.

All of that changed when Khatijah received a phone call from a GZI agent in Tripoli.

"Halo? What's the news?" Khatijah asked, exhausted from staying up looking over the collected profiles of current Insaani politicians.

"I've been keeping an eye on Muhammad Sadat like you asked and he just met with someone who definitely isn't Insaani," the agent replied. "It seems Mr. Sadat is entertaining a foreign guest tonight, and his new friend seems very...aware of his surroundings."

Those words reignited Khatijah's energy. "Then it seems Mr. Sadat might be our ticket to expanding our operations, now that he's dealing with spies," Khatijah said, quickly scribbling down some notes on the face of one of the politician profiles before her. "...or just nervous, shady people. Keep an eye on them as best you can and keep us up-to-date. Faisal and I will be there as soon as we can. Dah."

Hanging up the phone, Khatijah raced to get dressed and pack her bags, then went next door to Faisal's apartment.

"Khatijah, it's the middle of the night," a still half asleep Faisal said as he answered the door. "What is it?"

"Pack whatever you need for a week long trip. We're heading to Tripoli. Tonight."

Office of the Gongsi Diplomatic Corps, Sankêuyong, Federal Republic of Gongsi

It had been months since Long Zianhi had last met with Asim face-to-face, the memory of their interaction in the shawarma shop still gripping her heart with embarrassment. She had spoken with him since then, using Zoom to conduct official status updates and receive any requests Asim had while in lockdown, but with her supervisors watching her professionalism had to be ironclad. There would be no room for error in formality with such a setup, and Ms. Long new it well.

It was Ms. Long's idea to secretly grant Asim asylum, and the Diplomatic Corps was more than happy to dump all responsibility for said asylum onto Ms. Long. If anything went wrong it would be her neck on the metaphorical chopping block, and being stuck on an assignment such as this essentially froze any chance at professional advancement. But Ms. Long didn't care as much as she would have a year ago. There was something about Asim that brought her a joy the frustrating bureaucracy of the Diplomatic Corps could only loosely imitate.

But with the harshest of the COVID-19 restrictions finally coming to an end check-ups were now required to be done in person, and Long Zianhi was both excited and nervous about this change. Her first visit would be tomorrow, but there was still a mountain of classified paperwork she had to fill out regarding the unusual circumstances of Asim's asylum. She tried to push down the thoughts of Asim that bubbled in her mind with focusing on the paperwork, but the monotony of it all proved ineffective in distracting her.

Just a few more hours and she'd be on the train to Khuntiên and would soon see Asim once more.

An Egyptian Arabic children’s song was playing on Spotify.
“Allo!” Asim said, singing along.
“Allo!” Faisal replied back.
“Where is your dad?” Asim said
“Dad is here. Here he is. Who is this?” replied Faisal, though admittedly in a muddled way a two year old is expected to have said it.
“Say it’s ‘uncle’!” Asim said back.
“Uncle who? And who do I say is calling?”
Asim danced around the room to the music, prompting giggles from Faisal.

“Alexa,” he said to the Amazon Echo. “What do I have planned for today?” As he did so, he took his coffee out of the coffee maker & began drinking.
“Today is ‘Baba’s birthday’.”
His smiled immediately faded.
“Today is father’s…? Oh,” he said to no one in particular. Then he looked over at Faisal, who was still listening to the song. He sighed. Neither of them had involved fathers: his had been to busy for him, and Faisal’s had divorced Asim’s sister & forgotten all about Faisal save for the checks he had to keep sending.
“Don’t worry, Faisal,” he said, though in reality he was partially talking to himself. “Muhammad peace & blessings be upon him said that after God & him, to love first your mother, second your mother, third your mother, then finally fourth your father.”
He lifted his nephew up in the air.
“Come on, Faisal, we’re going to the mosque.”
He drove with the toddler to the closest masjid, one he frequented often. An older couple, Muhammad & Fatima Osman, greeted him as they always did. Asim had picked up a good amount of Bahasa Malaya & Mandarin in his time in Khuntiên. He prayed with Faisal in his arms, as Faisla was too young to be expected to stay still on his own. As he walked out, Mrs. Osman said to him
“Asim?”
“Yes, Mrs. Osman? How may I help you?”
“Why don’t you ever lead prayers?” she asked. “You have a good voice.”
Asim immediately dismissed it. “No, no, no, that’s not such a good idea. I don’t really want to. But thank you though. Allah bless. Peace.”
He hurriedly took Faisal & left. The truth was he didn’t want to lead prayed because he was scared that would draw too much attention. The government has warned him to keep a relatively low profile, & he certainly didn’t feel like attracting unwanted attention.
As he drove home, the turned up the radio, which was going over the news of the world. He craned his neck, hoping to hear something about back home.

“As if I didn’t have a million other things on my plate!” Abdul-Ghaffar Yusuf complained, slamming the door behind him as he entered his office.
Marcel, Karim & Moshe were already in his office, seated in chairs. The way they were sitting didn’t even attempt to his how anxious they were.
Karim stood up as soon as Yusuf entered the room.
“Have you heard what the Antarcticans are saying?” he asked.
“Of course I heard, they played it for me on the bloody way here!” Yusuf shot back. Karim slumped back into his chair. Yusuf sat down & put his face in his hands.
“The nerve of them,” Moshe complained. “They said that we are supporting terrorists. Us. We’d have to be daft to help them after all the trouble they’ve caused us, all the people they’ve killed.”
Musa walked into the room at that moment.
“Did you hear what they said about their weapons?” he asked. He could tell by their demeanor they all must have heard the news and thus knew what he was talking about.
“They said something about us not being able to match their capabilities,” Karim recalled.
“Oh, we’ll be able to match anything they have, the Langenians will make sure of that,” Marcel said.
“And did you listen to the address I gave today?” Abdul-Ghaffar asked.
“Well sure,” Moshe said. “What about it? The reporters let you off easy for once.”
“Yes, but the first question was about Ms. Khan,” he said. “Now, from what we know, the Prussians have got to still have her. We need to get them to let her out. The war is over now, they have no reason to keep her.”
“Sir,” Yusuf’s secretary said, entering the office. “There’s a letter from President De that just arrived.” She hand it to him & left then room.
Abdul-Ghaffar skimmed it. “Alhamdulilah, we still have some friends left. Gongsi’s promised to help us.”
“Now, what are we gonna do next?” asked Musa.
“I’ll make sure Sharifistan knows we’re going to support them if anything happens. And we have to coordinate with the Langenians even more to ensure we’re safe from any Antarctican attack. We also have to talk to the Prussians. That should be all.”
“Well, it’s not all,” Marcel interjected. “The Communist problem?”
Yusuf groaned. “They’re not going to get enough power, we’ll be fine. We can allow democratic socialist & other leftists to exist, but Communists are going to be a serious threat.”
“And the Jundallah?” Karim asked. “They’re popular with the people, sir. God forbid, they may turn into our very own Hezbollah.”
“They will not,” he said. “If Parliament votes to keep them out of the National General & House of Representation, then they won’t. If they do, they do, it’s simple.”
“And if they do?” questioned Musa.
“We’ll deal with that then,” he said.

To Erloaneans the traffic was such a FUBAR. It was a miracle that no incidents happened on the way. When outside of Muslimbol the traffic very slightly improved. Not by much, but it was still a little bit better than traffic inside the city. Thankfully the troops arrived at the base without any incidents. The arrival caused relief among the troops, many of them visibly sighing.

The Insaanis, quite a few of them smoking, laughed at the utter relief the Eloaneans displayed when they arrived. Speaking mostly Arabic, Siwa Tamazight, English or Nubian, they disembarked from their vehicles, grabbing their bags & weapons, most walking off to where they already knew they needed to be. Langenian troops were also present, most speaking Spanish. The Insaanis themselves mostly looked significantly different than their Langenian counterparts. While many of the Langenians were Mestizos, Native Americans or Afrolatinos, many still were blanquitos who had not left for (or fled to) their ancestral homeland in Iberia. The Insaanis consisted largely of native Egyptians: most of them Arabs, Afro-Arabs and Nubians, but quite a few were Copts, Imazighen from Siwa, and Fallata. Their mostly skin ranged from from gold to dark brown, with a few pale as the white people among the Langenians & Erloaneans, and a few black as coal.
Apart from that, they were armed the same, and many Insaanis & Langenians had swapped their uniforms with one another. They spoke to one another cordially. Anyone who had not paid attention to the African giant’s recent history would never have guessed that there was often times animosity towards the Langenians among many Insaanis, or at the very, discontent that they had stayed for so long.

But the two nations had a partnership dating back to when President Nic Furia had helped save President Mustafa Abu Jamal’s life, and that didn’t seem like it was gonna change any time soon.

There were no militiamen from the Jundallah, the “Soldiers of God”, a militia group that had risen up and taken control of the streets of Northern African cities in the wake of the deposing of Asim’s regime, and had stabilized the region with the help of the Langenians. While they had been instrumental in consolidating control over the country, they were not the Insaani military, and the way things were looking the political world, they wouldn’t be part of the Insaani government, either, as the majority coalition seemed adamant the group not be admitted as a political party.
Commander Yunus al-Masri and a couple other troops stayed behind as the Erloanean soldiers got out of their vehicles & situated themselves.

Erloanean soldiers unloaded thier equipment and settled into thier quarters. Erloaneans adapted well to thier quarters and began talking with Insaani and Langenians. Some soldiers played cards and other games when they unpacked. They spoke in English to Insaanis and Langenians while playing cards or just talking. Kimball found his tent, there was a small table and a chair. He put his laptop on the table and immediately began writing a report to high command, saying that he and his troops arrived safely. When he wrote his report he inspected the troops, everything was ok. Some time later Kimball arrived and asked Yunus. "Sir, Erloaneans are ready for tasking. Are there any orders for us?"
Returned from a break for real.

Daniyal followed the man inside the building. Excellent you are in. Ra is pleased. The voices said. However these weren’t voices in his head these were the jinns that had taken hold of his soul. Similar to Davud Daniyal a normal man consumed by jealousy sought powers far beyond the limits of normal humans. And when a normal person seeks magical powers the results vary dramatically. In his case he has become evil.

When he wrote his report he inspected the troops, everything was ok. Some time later Kimball arrived and asked Yunus. "Sir, Erloaneans are ready for tasking. Are there any orders for us?"

“None yet,” Yunus said. “However, in a couple hours, you and I will be in a briefing with the Langenians as to where to strike next. We got a bunch of targets hiding out in the deserts of Africa’s Horn and the Sahara, and we need to know who’s the most vulnerable right now. The Langenians will be back with the intel so we can make our move.”

A single messenger crossed the border between territory held by the Committee for Padanian Liberation and La Spezia, an exclave of the Italian Republic. Soon he would appear in city call, demanding to speak with the highest offical possible and presenting diplomatic creditals. Assuminng he was allowed through, he present that offical with a letter addressed to the Italian Republic's president, from the Chairman of the Committee for Padanian Liberation, Alberto Passero, with the intention of renewing previous cooperation agreements -- especially with regards to the Southern issue.

Antarctican forces were shadowed up and down the Mediterranian by Prussian-Polish aircraft, and on several occasions were buzzed. The messages was clear; the Antarcticans were unwelcome guests in the Mediterranian, as far as Prussia-Poland was concerned.

After being searched thoroughly, the messenger was allowed through finally. He was directed through the halls of the City Hall where he met the mayor. An Italian man with blonde hair, green eyes and brown skin was seated there. He looked to be in his last thirties or early forties, and was dressed in a black suit and pants.
“Buongiorno,” the mayor, Marco Vagnotti, said. “What business has brought you here to our city?”

The courier was a grave sort; ashen-faced, dark-haired, with deep circles 'neath his eyes. A few nicks here and there marked him as a bruiser, a soldier; perhaps even an insurgent against the recently-overthrown Insaanistani government. Regardless, he was Passero's envoy.
"I have a message from Padania." he replied, immediately getting down to business. He extracted an envelope and handed it over. "Please pass it to your head of state posthaste."

Within would be a request for aid against the South, a reiteration of the commitments made, and a promise to permit the Republic fo use certain 'special resources' possessed by the Padanians to clean up their own problems.

Somewhere in Prussia-Poland, a lock came undone. An unconcious girl was wheeled out on a gurney, and slowly awakened. Ten-thousand NSD, a debit card linked to a bank account with 5 million, and a ticket to Zurich began to be prepared, and from Lilliam Macduff's headquarters at Taranto, a message was sent to the Insaanistanis, preempting any formal request for Nura's release.
It notified the Insaanistanis that Nura would be handed over at a certain gate at a certain time in Zurich Airport. Ten-thousand NSD in cash, as well as a bank account in a neutral country with much more, had been given to her as compensation for any mistreatment, real or percieved, suffered during her captivity. A detailed medical history during her time in Prussian-Polish custody was included as well -- most notably, heavy usage of sedation agents that may require further attention.

This message was tele-typed to Mosaratian Intelligence officials from the Insaanis. The head of intelligence sent a message to The Sultan. The Sultan read it and soon began praying to Allah thanking him for releasing Nura. He ran to the Sultana and told her the good news. “Praise be she is saved.” She said. “We must hurry and get ready to fly Godiva from there we can cross the warp and be in Switzerland.” The Sultan said.

Nura’s left eye twitched every so often. Normally, her eyes seemed to switch color every time you looked at them. Now they seemed to switch color every second. Brown, blue, green, hazel, purple, pink, brown again.
Her hair was a bit frazzled, as could be expected from a person who hadn’t been able to care for it in so long. Her skin was noticeably paler than it had been when she had last been fully awake. Though awake now, she said nothing, other than murmuring the dhikr.
“…Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar…”
Her stomach had grown with her pregnancy, the size surprisingly normal, as if her brain was the only part affected by the sedatives.
Anyone who looked at her long enough would notice something odd:
She seemed to not be blinking at all.
“How… how many months has it been?” she finally asked.

Encryption: HIGHEST

Honorable President.
The Ministry, along with our countrymen, thanks the Federal Republic of Gongsi for extending such an offer to us to solidify our status as a soverign nation state. Despite some people in the Royalist side and isaanistan would suggest.

Your offer to send your GCI ambassador is hereby accepted. And preperations for his quarters and other accomodations are well underway. As per current protocols regarding the land border and the current status of the "Heavenwall" barrier. We highly recommend your Ambassador's arrival by air. Where the liasion aircraft will be guided by Escort aircraft from the JsADF to their destination.

We will certianly take the offer for the embassy into account on our meetings with the ambassador, and if the concept is approved by both parties, Architectual firms will immediately begin the design process.

Once again, the Socalist state of sharfaristan and it's people will gladly accept the people of Gongi, if it is for the benefit of both of them.
We eagerly await your Ambassador's arrival.

Meanwhile The Jamesians hear about this and are also pleased.

Khuntiên International Airport, Khuntiên, Federal Republic of Gongsi

In the dark of night, two diplomats met on the tarmac of the Khuntiên International Airport. The two briefly shook hands and greeted each other.

"Always sunny in Insaanistan, isn't it?" one said with a grin. Harta bin Zulfikar, the ambassador and GSI member selected to travel to Socialist Sharfaristan, knew that his assignment was no easier or safer.

"Sharfaristan as well," Harta's counterpart replied. "Try not to catch a cold, or a bullet, while you're over there. I'd hate to be the one to tell Alya that her husband finally lost his game of hide-and-seek with death." Ma Hênsun was a close friend of Harta's and was very familiar with the man's knack for jumping headfirst into hotspots. The two had virtually grown up together, having known each other since the 4th grade, and saw each other as brothers in all but blood. Both knew that behind the jokes was a worry for the other's safety, but in an effort to keep the mood light they didn't speak a word of it.

The pair chatted and chuckled until the time came to board their separate planes. Nerves began to slowly build as the planes took off and climbed to cruising altitude. Hours passed and the nervousness didn't settle. Ambassador Ma landed first, stepping off his plane in Muslimbol without much issue.

Ambassador Harta, on the other hand, only felt his anxiety rise as the plane approached the "Heavenwall" that ensured total aerial domination of Socialist Sharfaristan's airspace. In the next few minutes he was either going to be escorted into the heart of a nation on the brink of war or plummet into the sea with the burning wreck of his plane. In his mind it was a coinflip between which fate awaited him.

Asim's House, Khuntiên, Federal Republic of Gongsi

Long Zianhi stood at the door to the house, teetering on the edge of actually knocking. The panic coursing through her veins at that moment wasn't entirely unfamiliar, though she'd never felt it for something as simple as knocking on a door.

Ms. Long nervously glanced about. The house the government had provided Asim was, by Gongsi's standards, more than decent. It was a little ways outside of Khuntiên, though nowhere near far enough to be beyond civilization. Asim had a few neighbors in his vicinity, though Long knew at least one of the nearby buildings was housing the BMGC agents assigned to both watch and protect Asim. There was no doubt that several pairs of eyes were on her right now, though hoped that wouldn't be as true once she entered.

Swallowing her fears, Long Zianhi braced herself and knocked on the door. Her heart was pounding. When Asim finally did answer the door Ms. Long bowed, tried to say something but found nothing came out, then quickly bowed again.

"I-It's a pleasure to meet again in person," she said, quickly regaining some of her lost composure. "Would you mind if I came inside for your in-person check-up?"

Everything is fine, he told himself. Be normal. Be normal.
He opened the door again.
“Hi! Sorry, I had to do…something. Please, come in!”
In his panic, Asim hadn’t notice how loose his tie was around his neck or that he hadn’t finished buttoning his shirt, accidentally leaving the top 2 opened. In attempting to fix his hair, he instead made it worse.
