I presume you mean the bot in the Discord is asking you to login and give a code accessed by a particular link on this site (https://www.nationstates.net/page=verify_login). This is legit and is part of the official API:

They can't log into or do anything to your nation with the code, it is not a password, the code simply shows that you are the owner of the nation.

I understand your skepticism! Good to watch out for phishing, hopefully a mod will come around to ease any further worries, or wack me if I'm really wrong.
