The prosecutor looks on to the judges panel and requested to submitted as admissible evidence.

Judge Gemosche: "sustained"

The prosecutor submitted it to the board, and went back. She then questions if there are anymore people involved in this crime.

The female general intervenes: "Not only that, they expressly asked us to attack the peacekeepers, if they got in the way, and they authorized the execution of civilians."
and I show another recording of a call where the prime minister said all this.

Finally, Judge Gemosche breaks up, and calls order. He looks on to the 2 generals and stated

Judge Gemosche: "This trial is about you 2 and the ones under your command. The higher ups will be next, but it is not involved as of yet on this trial. So now I ask you this. Have you committed those crimes with clear conscience and acted it upon your own will?"

Prosecutor: "Acting upon orders which one can decline is simply inadmissible. That event could've been prevented, yet you still allow it to happen. That is a fact."

"not only did they receive a message from the PM, but also orders other than mine! My colleague and I are just a caprio expresario, the soldiers barely advanced if we told them, but if messages from the government arrived in the evening in here they said to bring 25 civilians to Czechoslovakia to do some experiments they did it right away !!! You have to believe it, our superiors only used us to wash their hands.
We weren't even in the Blue Shirts until the war, they told us to command them and they also SPECIFIED that they would carry out government orders and not ours, we just had to make sure that everything was done "

Visibly concerned and a bit disgruntled the Adepti magistrate entered the room, followed by the Empire's observers. After recomposing himself, magistrate Aurélio swiftly pressed forward towards his sit in the court.

Standing up, one hand hidden under his Toga, with his free hand he adjusted his Biretta and got seated. With his kind but strong voice he then addressed the court:

"First and foremost, I would like to excuse myself for my lateness to this important event. Some pressing matters of personal forum required my attention before the start of the proceedings. Our Observers and I already agreed to get me up to date with the exclusive pressing facts discussed up until this moment and I would like to present some brief questions to the witnesses before we proceed.

    1. For the male general first. You presented the argument that you were just following orders given by the government. Did you have, at the moment, the knowledge that such orders directly contradicted the International Law for which your country is signatory?

    2. Did you, at any point during the conflict, consider not following the orders given to you when the fact that International Law was being violated was brought to your attention by the letter sent by the Adepti government?

What we ought to understand in this court is to what extent are you responsible for what happened in Taiwanese territory. Being honest, direct, and open is your best chance in this court, General. So please, help us draw the picture of what transpired during the conflict.

After taking notes, the magistrate looks towards the female general and starts:

    1. You said that you received orders from your superiors to attack the peace troops. Could you elaborate on why do you think those orders were given? Were you aware that the peacekeeping troops are collaborating with the Red Cross and as such are protected by international law?

    2. Were you aware of the fact that the peace troops do not carry any weapons besides the ones strictly required to guarantee their safety and wouldn't be able to answer to a coordinated attack directed towards them?

    3. Why did those orders get ignored, the ones against the peace troops, when the others were promptly followed?

As an important remark, you don't have to worry about me acting as a citizen of the Empire. In this court I am an impartial judge and I have no desires to abandon the presumption of innocence all defendants are entitled for under my judgment. Please be honest.

The first to answer was the male: "yes, actually I thought of disobeying, but the rifles of the soldiers of the official army are very convincing, and then I would not have gone very far, compared to the rest of the army the Blue shirts are nothing, and as I said before, they are not faithful to me "

then I pass the female: "actually the orders on the peace troops were about to be carried out, but the war ended sooner. As for the reason for these orders, they did not specify, but I think they did not want obstacles to control the civilians and to evaluate which ones to send to Czechoslovakia in the labor camps. "

Taking a moment to think about the answers and ignoring the general's smile, magister Aurélio took a deep breath and started scribbling into his notebook. After a brief moment, he them calmly stated:

"It is understandable that you were acting under pressure, and it's nothing but normal for a human to fear for his life. It does not explain, however, why no documentation was provided by the defendant as evidence for those claims.

    1. Where those orders given in an informal setting?
    2. Is the defence able to produce, in a timely manner, any documents or recordings that could serve as evidence in this case?
    3. Have you ever considered warning the peace troops before the attack was carried?

As for the prosecution and the defense, I would like to inform you that the Adepti government has sent the following witnesses to be questioned as the court seems fit: the Chief of Intelligence for the Taiwanese peace operations and one citizen of the Empire that lived in Taiwan and was escorted out of the Czechoslovakian base after the negotiations between both governments.

Startled by his pair's request, the magistrate said:

"I mean, you are full members of this court. As far as I am concerned, we are here as equals and you hold the same power as any of the other magistrates here seated and as such there is no need for you to ask for permission. Exercise your power and office as you deem fit. Please, go ahead."

After finishing his statement, the magistrate put his hands into his toga once more and from there produced a small and transparent orb over which he started to ponder after briefly glancing towards the female general.

The female citizen took the witness stand and answered:

"I didn't really spend much time there, I got to the base only two days before the Commander of the Custodes came to the base. I know she was there because during one of my walks, that we were permitted to do two times a day over specific areas in the base, I could hear her voice. We got into the Imperial Collegium in the same, you know? I would recognize her voice ANYWHERE! Sadly I couldn't keep hearing because we had to keep moving, ya know? Anyway, we didn't get treated badly or anything... We I mean, the ones they considered as not being collaborationists. Those other guys didn't get the same luck, they were thrown into a jail and couldn't get out. That kinda broke me, because some of them were my friends. But yeah, that's it. I can answer more questions but I think that explains what you wanted to know from me.

She then stepped down; the Officer took the stand:

"We do not have exact numbers, it's not like we moved an entire surveillance team to Taiwan or anything. Not that I didn't want to, but... internal affairs made it quite hard. We were involved in another matters that required most of our common surveillance equipment. Anyway, as far our intelligence knows, around a hundred civilians died in the hands of the Blue Shirts. But again, it's not like they were the worst ones..."

The Adepti magistrate stopped the officer:

"Sir, any facts not concerning the current cause do not matter to this court. Please, refrain from inserting diverging topics in your testimony."

The Officer continued:
