World Cup 90 :: Roster Thread

Postby Vilita » Thu Dec 30, 2021 10:05 am

Roster Information

You will earn Roleplay Bonus points for submitting a roster, and a more detailed and well-presented roster can be worth more points. Detail can include Player Bios, Graphical Depiction of Team Kits, Historical Records and Team Background (Such as a nickname). A Standard roster should include 11 Players as starters and a series of substitutes for a total of 23-26 players. There is, however, no limit to the number of players and some nations will use a "player pool" approach while naming specific starters for each match in their RPs. Other useful information includes information about the coaching staff, set pieces takers, likely scorers and at least one home field for where your home qualifying matches will be played. Check out the Roster Thread from Last Cycle for some examples.

If you are copying a roster from a previous World Cup this is a reminder to update the edition # to reflect the current cycle which is World Cup 90.

Style Modifiers

You may provide a Style Modifier, any number between -5.00 and +5.00, with your roster that determines how defensively or aggressively your team plays. A -5.00 team is ultra-defensive, a 0.00 team is balanced, and a +5.00 team is hyper-aggressive. All nations are entitled to ASK to change their style modifier 1 (One) time throughout the duration of the tournament, by communicating said change via RP and by TGing both host nations [ Vilita & Commonwealth of Baker Park ] to confirm.

RP Permissions

Best practice includes the following permissions box that gives other competitors guidelines for how to roleplay your matches. We also request you stick your Style Modifier at the bottom of this box for ease of reference (even if it also exists elsewhere)

Code: Select all
[pre]
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Godmod scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Give red cards to my players: Y/N
Godmod other events: Y/N

Style Modifier: +/-
[/pre]

Other options you can consider are setting per-game maximums for injuries and cards, listing which of your players are most likely to score a goal/get injured/earn a card, or any information you think would be useful for your groupmates.

Turori National Team Player Pool

Head Coach: Tarek Edgeli
After spending 3 seasons being trained in Crosaibi at Marine Coast United, Edgeli made the switch down the coast to the Lonngeylin Coliseum for Season 43. While Strike were unable to win any silverware, Edgeli fit straight into the squad as one of the top performing defenders in the entire league earning instant plaudits and recognition back in Turori. Edgeli would be an ever-present in the Turorian squad earning the role of captain as the team advanced to the World Cup Semi Finals for the first time in the nations history at World Cup 81 in the Free Republics and Banija. After a long absence from regional competition, Edgeli, retired from the Turori National Team, would captain the Vilita and Turori National Team during the 60th AOCAF Competition.

After working with the Vilita & Turori National Team for two campaigns including the Olympic Games, Edgeli took on the role of head coach for the Turori National Team during the Eagle’s Cup XIX Competition and after leading the team to a Bronze Medal in the first attempt, returned to coach the team again during Eagle's Cup X. While Edgeli's Eel's came up just short again, earning their second consecutive Bronze Medal, the performance was enough to convince the Football Association of Turori that Edgeli was their coach of the future; relieving long time coach Klailall Tuirma of the Head Coaching duties by promoting Tuirma to the role as Competition Director of the Football Association of Turori while assigning Edgeli to the role of Turori National Team Manager for the World Cup 88 Cycle. In their first cycle as Head Coach of the Turori National Team, Tarek Edgeli led the Eels to their first World Cup Title.

Nickname: The Eels

Style: -1.23

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

Note 'Caps" are shown are currently on record for Turorian Players on from the start of World Cup 80 due to federation budget re-allocations during this time period to the Cocoabo Enrichment & Enhancement Project (CEEP)

Derizi was trained in the the goalkeeper program at the Eelandii Academy. While in Eelandii, the Youth Team qualified for the IFCF Youth Cup after finishing as Top Turorian Youth side in the Tropicorp Youth Cup. Performances for the Academy resulted in a contract with Sporta Eelandii Senior Squad but the Senior Squad was relegated from the Declasse automatically triggering a release clause for the young goalkeeping prospect. Instead of staying local, Derizi opted to take their talents to Eura joining Revolutionaries as they look to take their career to the next level overseas. Amatopa’s first internationstatal tournament came with the Vilitan Union at the XIV Olympic Games and the youngster would earn a Gold Medal despite not appearing in any of the matches. It was a different situation during the 50th Di Bradini Cup when Amatopa started in three of Vilita & Turori’s 7 matches in route to the championship. Amatopa would also start the majority of matches for the Turori National Team during Eagle’s Cup X where Turori earned the Bronze Medal. On a Domestic level, Amatopa took over as starting goalkeeper for Revolutionaries at the age of 18 and earned Goalkeeper of the Season Honors during EuraLeague 45 after leading Revolutionaries to the Euraleague Title. Amatopa became a World Cup Champion when Turori defeated The Holy Empire to win World Cup 88. Amatopa led all Turori goalkeepers with seven starts in the Qualifying round as well as having started one match during the World Cup 88 Finals.

An'maude was also named Vilitan Declasse Division goalkeeper of the Season for the Season 54. While An'maude was impressive in the Stellar Division, leading Cedniavella to a top-10 finish ahead of rivals Cednia Beach AFC, the Turorian netminder was coerced out of Cedniavella to take over goalkeeper duties at Lonngeylin Coast as the heir-apparent to the aging Cilamara Issah. Was Vilita & Turori's #1 netminder on the championship winning AOCAF 56 squad and is also an Olympic Gold Medalist with the Vilitan Union during the XI Olympic Games. With the close of their career in sight, An'maude would pull one final trick out of their hat. After a loyal career played entirely for one of Turori's smaller clubs, An'maude's dedication to Turorian sport shone through as the #1 goalkeeper for the Eels during the World Cup 88 Finals. An'maude posted back to back shutouts to get the Turori National Team back into the Semi-Finals before victories over Banija and The Holy Empire would bring the World Cup Trophy to Turori for the very first time.

It wasn't until Matchday 4 of the 51st Di Bradini Cup that Makakio finally netted their first career goal, scoring the second of two in a 2-0 Group Stage victory over Island of the Lost. Makakio would finally break through with their first goal for the Turori National Team during the Quarter Finals of Eagles Cup XI scoring the game winner against Banija.

After getting their first shot in the lower leagues at Turorian side Inura Forests, Mungwaii got the call to the big time become Inura Forests all-time highest transfer when switching to Eastal Lunar during Season 46. Mungwaii barely played a full season in Seraii, however, as the Turori National Team strikers potentially was quickly noticed and Jungle Strike FC came calling making Mungwaii the highest transfer in Eastal Lunar history as well. In 15 seasons at Jungle Strike FC, Mungwaii would win the Vilitan Stellar Division Five times, the Vilitan Cup 6 times as well as a pair of Tropical trophies. Mungwaai holds the Strike FC record for most Star-of-Match performances in a single season having been named first star in 12 of Strikes 26 Stellar Division matches during Vilitan League Season 61. Mungwaai is also tied for 5th all time in goals scored for Strike FC along with Friekder Dandaellion. The Turorian is also an Olympic Gold Medalist having been a part of the Vilitan Union Squad at the XI Olympic Games in Aeropag and won the AOCAF 56 Title with Vilita and Turori. After fighting to keep their place in the starting Lineup at Strike FC during Vilitan League Season 62, Mungwaii decided to search for a new challenge and joined Zwangzug side Arlington City, quickly making an impact helping the team to first place and a Taça das Confederações Final victory.

Roster Info
  • Ages more or less correct for the World Cup / Cup of Harmony finals. Players will be one or two years younger at the start of qualifying.
  • Players without squad numbers are those unselected for the World Cup / Cup of Harmony finals. Squad numbers are only used for major tournaments. The first team lines up with numbers 1-11 for qualifiers.
  • Ideal first eleven: Stroud - Volonte, Flat, Consuegra - Côtescassées, Stelea, Moxey, Brown - Kivela, Spijkers - Rijsbergen. During qualifying, it's unlikely that this supposed strongest eleven will take the field together due to injuries, suspensions etc, so feel free to chop and change as much as you like.
  • Formation: 3-4-1-2
  • Style Modifier: -3

Potted history
  • Audioslavia reached the finals of World Cups 12, 19, 20 and 29, losing all of them and gaining a reputation as a team that chokes.
  • After thirty cycles away, Audioslavia won the Baptism of Fire before World Cup 59, won the AOCAF Cup in cycle 60 and then won back-to-back World Cups in cycles 63 and 64. That's the golden generation right there.
  • Since then, the side regained their status as chokers, losing in a few major finals, including World Cups 67, 69 and 76.
  • After winning the AOCAF Cup before cycle 88, Audioslavia left Atlantian Oceania to join the new region of Anaia.
  • Since joining Anaia, the side have arrested a run of poor showings in the World Cup, reaching the semi-finals on the last two occasions.

Style of Play
  • Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously.
  • Kontrapuntzeka is another word for it. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do have it.
  • Audioslavian footballers tend to be on the leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
  • Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious and resistant, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
  • Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be.
  • As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts.
  • Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play.

This team
  • Koenraad Rijsbergen is getting on a bit, but he's the team's main focal point in attack. Rijsbergen is tall (for an Audioslavian. He's about 6'1) and strong and a prick. He's probably whispering something offensive to your centre back right now.
  • Tiago Brown is short but incredibly quick, and often kick-starts counter-attacks on the right hand side. He's just about at the far end of his peak. Once his pace goes, he's going to become much less effective. Watch for him getting tired at the end of games and becoming more lazy about his positioning.
  • Goran Stroud shouts at his defence so much you'd be forgiven for believing his goatee beard actually featured two goalkeeping gloves either side. Either way, he's one of the best goalkeepers in Audioslavian history, with well over 100 caps by now.
  • Also on 100 caps or so is Moses Moxey, the tall, rangy central midfielder has been at the heart of the national team for a while now. As his legs begin to go, he's started dropping further and further back. Yuriorkis Stelea is more 'the guy' in midfield these days. The 5'7 Itzi all-rounder's pressing game is second to none. If your player has the ball in Audioslavia's half, there's a decent chance Stelea is right behind them.
  • Archer Flat is impossibly pale, very ginger, has an ugly scar on his face and basically looks like a cartoon villain. He is all that is wrong with the world.

Starblaydi RP Permissions Box wrote:OOC Information:

The Starblaydia national football team factbook will tell you more about the team, their style, culture, fans, and history than I can ever write in a simple roster post. If you need more background information or just fancy browsing 17 RL/300 IC years of role-played football history, that's a fairly decent place to look. Otherwise drop me a message on Discord or, failing that, shoot a TG over.

Notes:
1) Starblaydia's style modifier is +4
2) The best starting eleven are numbered 1-11 in bold, and opaque in the line-up graphic. 'Ideal' like-for-like substitutes are semi-transparent.
3) I actively encourage that if you RP first you pick my scorers (if any) and their style of goal. Really, please choose my scorers. So often I read RPs where my opponent writes "Starblaydia scored" and I find it so, so much more enjoyable when a name is picked for me.
4) * Denotes female, denotes elf, ^ denotes dwarf.
5) Before each match, in between the national anthems and kick-off, the entire 23-man squad will perform the Raiigar, one of Starblaydia's traditional war-dances.
6) If you need a name for a player to do a specific thing in the match, some vague suggestions are at the bottom of the infobox on the right.

Five-time World, seven-time Regional, two-time Under-21, one-time Under-18 and one-time Olympic Men's Football champions Starblaydia will line up for their 71st entry to compete for the most sought-after trophy in the multiverse, still aiming for the record, unprecedented, sixth world championship, as they have been since World Cup 48.

To achieve this, manager Ázëwyn Fëanáro has been working since the 78th World Cup to mix a core team of tried and trusted individuals with the best of the youth squads she has been bringing through since taking command of the entire national team setup. The SFA has supported this with the building of Oberyn Park, a brand new national elite training and performance centre to further harness sporting prowess in the country.

Starblaydia have appeared in a World (WC 83), Regional (AOCAF 61), Under-21 (DBC 48) and two Under-18 Finals (7th & 8th U18WC) in their relatively recent history - winning the U18 and AOCAF Cups - and the decision to work from the ground up appears to be paying off, though without being able to take that extra step and claim the crown they truly seek. Starblaydia are still a side that every team in the competition will need to respect, though nowadays it's for their present strength, rather than the record-making history they are trying to live up t/o.

The full makeup of the team is as follows:

Image
AF. Ázëwyn Fëanáro*, Manager, 4,089 - Image
44th & 47th World Cup Winner, World Cup Hall of Famer, 61st AOCAF Cup Winning Manager

270 Caps, 71 Goals (Uncapped at youth level)
Fëanáro scored the winner in the 47th World Cup Final against Valanora, denying them a title on their own turf and lifting Starblaydia to the mantle of all-time greatest team. Known for her excellent attacking play, range of passing and great eye for goal that lifts her to second in the all-time goalscorers list too, by virtue of a nearly 1-in-4 ratio, Ázëwyn Fëanáro is a symbol of grace, power and beauty from Starblaydia's golden age, some forty tournaments ago when the Cup was in its 40s. It is these qualities that the SFA managed to recapture with Fëanáro at the helm, bringing her trademark poise and piercing yell to the touchlines after more than a decade of national failures. She's taken her team to the World Cup Final and AOCAF glory, but can she increase Starblaydia's lead as the team with the most major titles in the world?

AC. Aaron Cole, Coach, 60 - Image
90 Caps, 54 Goals (7 Caps, 4 Goals at youth level)
The first person to break into the Starblaydi all-time top ten goalscorers in literally generations, Cole had the dubious honour of being the man to finally knock Simeone Di Bradini out of that same list. His excellent footballing brain, aggression levels, tactical nous and all-round Audioslavian/Brenecian level of shithousery made him a uniquely successful striker in a nation more used to smooth flying strikers and hulking target men. These are the qualities he brings to the national team on a much grander scale, giving them a level of needle to their play hitherto unknown for the team in white and purple, proving his style's effectiveness with a win over Audioslavia in the AOCAF Cup Final where they 'out-Bulls'd the Bulls'. The squad selection this time has somewhat fewer spoilers and destroyers than that squad, but this team is developing a character that can dig deep and do the dirty work when required.

AO. Amari Ollarion*, Coach, 60 - Image
46 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
The best female Starblaydi goalkeeper since Paola Mendez, Ollarion has been managing her beloved Corinthian Spirits side for five years now, and other than Fëanáro is the most high-profile female coach in the Starblaydi game. Ollarion made her name as coach for the Starblaydi Women's Olympic team and did the no mean feat of taking them to the Quarter-Finals, continuing her journey on the senior national level.

Image
1. Ruby Narvaez*, GK, 34 - Iskara Daii Image
96 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Starblaydia's first-choice goalkeeper for four straight Cups, she's likely to become a centurion early in Qualifying. There are a lot of fine goalkeepers coming through the system currently, but so far non have been ale to seriously dislodge Narvaez from between the sticks. Solid shot-stopper with a good command of her area, she's even been known to play quickly from feet on occasion, thought it's not her strong point.

12. Fernando Armida, GK, 30 - Ituraitz FC Image
3 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Has spent three whole cups away from his homeland in Astograth after graduating from Penningworth United's youth academy, and is recalled to the side for the first time since World Cup 88, thanks to the retirements of both Stamford and Palmer.

19. Alan Valderas, GK, 24 - Sporting Salicus Image
Uncapped (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Sporting's young keeper has had a decent enough start at youth international level and has now been brought into the side for his first look at the sharp end of top level football. Not expected to make many, if any, appearances, but there's nothing like having a young goalie soak in the atmosphere and keep the starter on their toes.

Image
2. Andvar Galdarhim^, Captain, C/RB, 36 - Karak Ungor Chiefs Image - 61st AOCAF Cup Winner
120 Caps, 16 Goals (15 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
The only player in the squad who has lifted an international trophy, but even then he was and 18 year old second-choice right back. Now the Dwarven Galdarhim leads his country out for what could be the last time. With 120 caps already he is almost guaranteed to enter the all-time top ten list of appearance makers for Starblaydia, and can soon surpass his idol, midfielder Brazadar Khurnos on 126. He's a top-class defender and loves to bomb forwards, but even those thick Dwarven legs of his are starting to tire as he approaches 40. Galdarhim should still have enough in the tank to push through at top speed.

3. Jose Antonio Marqués, L/CB, 25 - Corinthian Spirits Image
4 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Energy: that's the key word to describe Marqués' game, and in the forward-minded 4-3-3 where the full-backs are expected to not only defend but also provide attacking width, verve and overloads down the wings, the relatively inexperienced Spirits player has gotten the nod. The man has energy to burn sprinting up and down the left side all day, but questions still remain over his defensive ability. That'll be no problem, however, if he can maintain his assist rate at club level to the likes of Roshanak, Shinoda and Janczewska.

5. Colin Mildenhall, R/CB, 30 - Foxchester Raiders Image
11 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Selected in the squad for his fourth straight tournament, the versatile Mildenhall finally claims a starting shirt. Usually deployed on the right side of a back three for his club, he has the speed, awarness and touch to bring the ball out from the back when called upon, even performing the job of an overlapping centre-back. This quality will be especially prized with the double-pivot in front of him, as he can give them the licence to roam forward while still having a mobile defensive presence behind them.

6. Alvari Mikkonen, CB, 30 - Hallad Reavers Image
11 Caps, 1 Goal (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
They breed them big and tough in Hallad, and Mikkonen is no exception. Like Mildenhall, this is his fourth straight tournament (at World and Regional level) and the first time he claims a place in the starting XI. Exactly the type of defender to put his body on the line to defend his goal, strong in the air and a real threat at set pieces.

13. Angela Ludwig*, CB, 27 - Cedrus Soundgardia Image
2 Caps, 0 Goals (12 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Sometimes you need a player on a team who the opposition hates, the crowd sneers at and the referee has to keep their eye on, drawing all the negative attention to allow the rest to play more freely. Ludwig is exactly that kind of woman. Happy to put in a late boot or an early elbow, she's a smart defender who can really get under the opposition's skin. Always protesting innocence and highlighting infringements against her, she's Aaron Cole's dream defender.

14. Oksana Shevchenko*, LB/LW, 21 - Beverington Hawks Image
Uncapped (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Listed as a defender but equally comfortable at your corner flag or the opposition's, don't be fooled by her relatively short stature. She's fast, really fast, and has great skills with the ball at her feet. Low centre of gravity and a quick turn keeps opponents away from the ball, and a killer final ball is ready to unlock a defence or smash in a goal.

20. Grzegorz Wójcik, CB, 19 - Hallad Reavers Image
Uncapped (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Coming through the ranks at the Reavers and already breaking into the first team alongside Mikkonen, the two of them provide a sheer red wall in the defence, but this belies Wójcik's touch on the ball. A combination of aggressive and composed, he looks like a monster but can be a dancer with the ball at his feet. Very young, but with a huge amount of potential.

21. Jamelia Soule*, RB/RM, 17 - Iskara Daii Image
Uncapped (5 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
A dead ball specialist with one of the cleanest strikes of the ball you're likely to see, Soule is the complete modern full-back. Often deployed in midfield for the Daii even at the tender age of 17, the one question on her skills is actually at defending, and though she's often seen as a weak link and targeted by opponents, her record more than speaks for itself already.

Image
4. Rickard Sindelaar, R/DM, 30 - Paricone Athletic FC Image
29 Caps, 4 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Swapping his customary 7 shirt for that of the 4, Sindelaar typifies the type of player Fëanáro has preferred in the midfield for the past decade and more: a pure athlete with the vision to play anywhere. Though perhaps not the most skilled, nor the fastest or the best on the ball, Sindelaar's reading of the game and ability to push through 90 minutes and more without dropping his level of commitment is crucial to the all-action midfield three required by this system.

7. Terry Stamper, RM, 31 - Bul Khungur Miners FC Image
35 Caps, 10 Goals (7 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
At 31, coming off a bad injuury in the season, it was considered unlikely that Stamper would make it back into the national team, however as other midfielders have aged out and the remaining options are thought to be too inexperienced to start, Stamper has been called upon one last time to strap on the boots for his country. He still has the quality to play at this level, but whether he can survive the rough and tumble of a long qualifiers, followed by the fast pace of a potential finals appearance is another matter.

8. Castro Shinoda, R/AM, 28- Cedrus Soundgardia Image
16 Caps, 10 Goals (12 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Shinoda has never found himself in a startingshirt for the senior side, but now in his prime years he is the ideal focal point for this double-pivot 4-3-3 Fëanáro employs for World Cup 90. The shape of the side means that he will almost always have four or even five short passes available, which is exactly what his quick mind and quicker feet are capable of handling. He's used to the Cedrus side dancing to his tune around him as he pulls the strings, and this will certainly be his role in this side, though it's clear he can easily get amongst the goals when required, such his is great strike-rate of 10 in 12 appearances.

15. Henry Whittaker, C/DM, 21 - Paricone Athletic FC Image
Uncapped (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
An all-action combative defensive midfield destroyer in the making, Whittaker has the long limbs and engine of a player who can be a constant thorn in the oppposition's attacks. Sometimes he can be a bit too aggressive or strong in the challenge, but that just makes his own fans love him more.

16. Dawn Halleck-Winter*, C/AM, 18 - Tabeck FC Image
Uncapped (2 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Playing with her head up and always looking to go forward, Halleck-Winter has already excelled for the Under-18 side and is now brought onto the senior bench to show what she can do. From late arrivals into the box to long shots from distance, or getting up to support the central strikers and be a key part of the attack, Halleck-Winter has a lot of tools in her arsenal.

22. Natalina Veno*, C/DM, 25 - Vecchio Victors Image
7 Caps, 2 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
'They shall not pass' is Veno's creed; give her a section of the pitch to patrol and protect and you're almost guaranteed to see her intercept, block and tackle her way through 90 minutes. Somewhat of a sideways passer with very few expeditions into the final third, Veno is a real water carrier of a player, doing the dirty, unheralded work so others can shine.

Image
9. Sam Roshanak, SC/LW, 33 - Rülândéá Kôstä Image
78 Caps, 44 Goals (7 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Fresh from a championship-winning season for the Spirits, but kept out of the final few games with a calf injury, it wasn't clear that Roshanak was going to be able to make this side in time for the Cup. Still easing into full match fitness, he's determined to get back to his best as quickly as possible, because not only will this side need his experience up front, he's also aiming for Dasha Tolkacheva's tally of 52 to break into that all-time top scorer list, like his older sister Hope currently occupies with 55.

10. Ricardo Gomes, SC, 28 - Corinthian Spirits Image
7 Caps, 4 Goals (12 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Though overlooked in previous years, there's no denying Liga Starblaydia's top scorer this time, who has come into the form of his life at exactly the right time. Never afraid to shoot, first time or from any distance, the sheer weight of his output at club level is belied by his international statistics. Playing as one of the prongs of this particular Starblaydi trident, however, he's sure to be among the goals, whether from 3 yards out or 30.

11. Maria Janczewska*, SC, 29 - Iskara Daii Image
16 Caps, 10 Goals (11 Caps, 3 Goals at youth level)
The Daii's golden girl, Janczewska has finally been able to step out of the shadow of her clubmate Lucian Damocles and take her place in the starting line-up, after so many tournaments with the Damocles-Roshanak-Cellaeron partnership. She'll be leading the line for her country, too, direct and through the middle as her two fellow strikers provide the space around her to operate to the fullest.

17. Layla Cellaeron*, SC, 32 - Articala Inlet Image
58 Caps, 30 Goals (10 Caps, 3 Goals at youth level)
As much as the water in the Bay of Vilita seems to agree with aging Starblaydi strikers, keeping them going long after you'd expect them to retire, Cellaeron is just the wrong side of 30 to produce the magic in the right half-space like before. Her experience, relationships with the rest of the squad and almost mother-like figure to the younger members of the team notwithstanding, her ability to come off the bench for short periods and score goals will be vital to the team's progression.

18. Yuri Pukkinen, SC, 19 - Jhanna City Image
Uncapped (8 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Playing up front at JCFC, you'd expect Pukkinen to be a big, strong centre-forward type, but in fact he plays what everywhere else could be called the 'False 9' role, dropping deep to bring in the players around him, relying on movement and cleverness to create goals, rather than being the one who bangs them in. He'll offer something completely different to other strikers when he makes appearances, be it as a sub or in the matches against lesser-regarded opponents.

23. Hassan Al Faizan, SC, 18 - Cedrus Soundgardia Image
Uncapped (6 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Al Faizan's potential is near limitless: incredibly fast, primarily left footed but also comfortable shooting on his right, he can play anywhere along the front three but his speed and pressing is suited perfectly to Fëanáro's pressing 4-3-3. Fireworks are expected from this kid whenever he plays.

Image
4-3-3, +4 Style Modifier

Image

Play style
The 4-3-3 has become Fëanáro's go-to formation from youth teams right up to the senior side, relying on a high press throughout the team, with width and support from forward-minded full-backs (2 & 3) as the three midfielders (4, 7 & 8) overload and control the centre of the pitch. Whether adopting positions as wingers or strikers, the wide players (10 & 9) will be working in concert with the main striker (11) at all times, in both attack and a high pressing game as a unit. With the players who are available and suited to the formation, Fëanáro has switched to a double-pivot of two defensive midfielders (4 & 7), although Stamper (7) certainly has more licence to roam forward than the other DM, thanks to Mildenhall's (5) positioning skills and ability on the ball.

Weaknesses
The 4-3-3 offers great tactical flexibility, but relies on two things: instant decision making (particularly from the midfield) and the front three operating in unison. Exploiting any miscommunications from the front three to expose, isolate and play through them can key, and forcing the midfielders to make tough choices with passing by pressing them or overloading their options can make this game plan fall apart. Attacking the full backs can also work, but be careful of the double-pivot that covers this option. Shinoda (8) can also be isolated from his teammates and removing this fulcrum can blunt the effectiveness of the whole side. Other winning strategies of your choice are also available.

Kits created by:

ediraf's Generation Five series of football kits innovated beyond all competitors. Now, for the 300th anniversary of Starblaydi international football, they present a brand new design to debut in the 90th World Cup OOC: RP to follow explaining it when the RP thread opens.

Generation Five-S charts the present, past and future of the national team in a bold new design based heavily on tradition, informed by the modern and focusing on the future. The Ice White home kit with purple and gold trim is right now. NightTerror Black with golden trim is the past away kit, while Anaia's purple and green are the future of football with the third kit. Home, Away and Goalkeeper versions proudly sport the five gold stars - representing their record-setting five World Championships at senior level - above the Starblaydi Football Association logo, while the Third kit needs no such leaning on the past as it stares straight into a bold new future. In addition, Starblaydi players will also all be wearing rainbow laces, as a symbol of diversity and inclusion.

ediraf's market-leading technology includes:

Optiyarn
Optiyarn technology increases both supporting structure and dynamic stretch ability according to the wearer's requirements, isolating body parts and muscle groups for maximum integrity of material and complete comfort of fit. Toughened against all climates that come into contact with the exterior, yet gentle and smooth on the inside, Optiyarn fits better and aligns more comfortably to a player's body than ever before.

Aerodynamix
Aerodynamix design improves airflow over the material in a natural, ergonomic pattern, because even microseconds can be the different between victory and defeat on the grandest stages of sporting endeavour. Limbs and torso move more swiftly through the air, cutting through to achieve acceleration and top speeds hitherto unknown in previous incarnations.

Transpacool Three
Transpacool Three improves and evolves on the breathability features of previous ediraf CoolClimate creations, dispersing sweat into the atmosphere faster than ever before, siphoning cooling air in with more efficiency than any kit the company has produced previously. A Generation Five kit provides a greater enabler to a player's natural talent than at any point in history whilst keeping them at the optimum performance temperature.

The site of the 80th World Cup and 8th IFCF Champions League Finals, all of Starblaydia's home matches will take place in the 196,754-seater Stadii Di Bradini, close to the popular tourist destination of Downtown Jhanna, Starblaydia's capital city. Boasting extensive transport links, hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and entertainment, the Downtown area is the perfect place for a nearly quarter of a million fans to disperse into every evening after a match. It also has a direct route to JAX, Starblaydia's main internal airport and a major air travel hub of Atlantian Oceania.

The stadium is named after Starblaydia's most legendary former player, Jhanna-born striker Simeone Di Bradini: the former World Cup Committee President, World Cup Hall of Famer, and four-time World Cup Winner (all with The Holy Empire as player/manager), for whom the Di Bradini Cup, the world's premier Under-21 tournament, is also named. It is a gargantuan stadium notable for environmentally friendly 'eco-stadium' features built-in since before ground was first broken on the site. Designed and constructed using as many recyclable materials and installed with technology that reduce its carbon footprint and lowers its energy needs, the exterior features a huge array of photovoltaic solar panels on the roof. It was the centerpiece of the 'Green Starblaydia' project many years ago and remains one of the world's iconic stadiums.

Sarzonia Stars

Image

Note: Home kits have a primarily navy colour scheme; away kits are primarily white; keeper kits are green. Kits designed by Starblaydia

=================================
If my opponent RP's first, they have permission to do the following:
Style: 1.75
Formation: 4-4-2
Choose My Goalscorers: Y
Godmod Goalscoring Events: Y (stuff like deciding who scores a PK, who passes to whom and how the goal's scored is cool. Weird shit is not.)
Injure Players: N
Godmod Injury Events: N
Red Card Players: Y (no more than one more than you do for your own team)
Yellow Card Players: Y (same rule as red cards)
Godmod Other Events: N
=================================

Manager: Nathan Hanifer
The former manager of Sarzonia's Under 21 national team, Hanifer was the other finalist for the Stars managerial role. He assumed the assistancy at the request of Mentes and was named interim manager after Mentes was fired.
Assistant Manager: Eric Dent
Dent will serve as a de facto defensive coordinator for the Stars, and will work primarily with the defence and the defensive midfielders.
Assistant Manager: Brady Reynolds
Reynolds comes back to the Stars as an assistant manager after serving as a colour analyst. He played for the Stars from qualifying for World Cups 84-86 and World Cup 88.

HOME GROUND: Dave Wilson Stadium, Woodstock (105,690 capacity, natural grass field); alternate home ground i Joe Gibbs Stadium in Woodstock (75,900 capacity)

Roster (Starters in bold)

GOALKEEPERS
1 Carlton Sandt, 22, 6-foot-3, 215 pounds (Lakiska SC, Banijan Soccer League)
Sandt is the younger brother of legendary Stars goalkeeper Horace Sandt. He won the starting job for the Wanderers as a true freshman and led a previously downtrodden side to the national semifinals. He has catlike reflexes and is quick off his line. Can get too aggressive.
33 Trent Woodson, 27, 5-foot-11, 170 pounds (Saugerties Snakes)
Woodson becomes the backup while Paolo Gomes is recovering from a torn ACL. He has a decent mix of size and agility.

DEFENDERS
4 Charlie King, 28, 5-foot-11, 155 pounds (Saugerties Snakes)
King plays as a defensive-oriented fullback, often marking the opposing team's top striker. He relies more on positioning and reading his opponent's tendencies and body language to figure out where to run than on speed. He's not exactly a burner.
5 Tommy Benignati, 32, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds (Wilmington FC)
The older brother of Marco Beningnati, Tommy plays a much more rugged style than Marco does. Can play sweeper in a three-back lineup.
7 Matt Taylor, 27, 6-feet, 185 pounds (Burlington Browns)
Taylor's speed lends itself to being a fullback, but he plays halfback for the Browns. He has a tendency to struggle with more physical forwards and offensive midfielders.
6 John Taylor, 22, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Portsmouth University
The younger twin brother of Under 21 national team player Carlette Taylor, John plays a similar style to his sister's, although with much more speed.
18 Ben Russell, 33, 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Rochester Renegades
In his first season as team captain of the Renegades, he led the team to a Sarzonian Football Confederation championship, resulting in the team's promotion to the Cyanea League. If he's on the pitch in the event Howard gets subbed for, he will don the captain's armband. He is a reserve halfback for the Stars.
22 Carmela Bowen, 30, 5-foot-8, 145 pounds, Woodstock Justice
Brown plays fullback for the Justice, a Sarzonian women's football team, and typically marks whomever the playmaking midfielder is. Her stamina earned her a spot on the national team.
44 Pat Meyers, 24, 5-foot-8, 152 pounds, unaffiliated
Meyers won a lawsuit against the Portland Timbers third division affiliate when the team dismissed them after successfully proving the club released them due to their gender non-conforming status

MIDFIELDERS
8 Ernie Mabree, 28, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds (FC Corcorran)
Mabree has one of the better left-booted shots in the Sarzonian league structure and is one of the fastest players in Sarzonia. He'll play an important role in Sarzonia's offence.
10 Clayton Wilson, 23, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, (Woodstock Wild) Captain
A grandson of legendary Stars forward Brian Wilson and great-grandson of coach Dave Wilson, Clayton is not just a fourth generation star among the Stars, he served as the playmaker for the Under 21 Stars and is a sterling wing player on the Wild.
18 Carlos dos Santos, 27, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Woodstock Wild)
A right wing player, he will sometimes be called upon to take free kicks if Reynolds is unable to for some reason.
23 Jaxon Hennepin, 28, 5-foot-7, 155 pounds (Wilmington FC)
Hennepin earned a starting role as a playmaking midfielder for WIlmington, but also played half a season in defensive midfield when the team was beset with injuries.
30 Erik Swann, 25, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Portland Timbers)
Swann's strength is being a late-match offensive substitute who can score in a pinch.
14 Winnie Taunton, 27, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds
Taunton takes a majority of the penalties on the women's national team and produces blinding speed on the wings.

FORWARDS
21 Jake Campos, 23 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, (Portland Timbers)
Campos is a straight up target player in the front line. His leaping ability makes him a prime candidate for headers in the box off corner kicks and indirect free kicks. He played on the Junior Stars team that competed in the most recent AOCAF.
19 Holly Cambrio, 28, 5-foot-7, 145 pounds (Woodstock Justice)
Cambrio adds flair and ball movement skill and the ability to serve as a sparkplug off the bench, but would be a starter for a women's national team if that competition got resurrected.
41 Carly Wilcox, 22, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Woodstock Wild reserves)
Wilcox retained her place on the Wild's reserve squad and made eight appearances and six starts after her transition.
First WCC Grand Slam Champion
NSWC Hall of Fame Inductee (post-World Cup 25)
Former WLC President. He/him/his.

Having qualified for the past three World Cups, including one Ro16 appearance, Tikariot have established itself as one of the multiverse's top footballing nations, even though the latest edition of World Cup 89, hosted in Tikariot and South Newlandia to boot, had been a major disappointment with only one point. After a lot of discussions about the future direction of the team and with it the future of coach Stuart Ekstrom, the TFF has decided to put things behind them and look ahead instead with an unchanged management side of things moving into the qualifying campaign for WC90 and then make an informed decision after it.

Image
The same the fans of the senior team, the fans of the Owlets also deserve particular mentioning. Not only are they renowned for their chants, but they are also bringing the Thunder Clap (Click here for example) to the stadium, something that the players join in as a pre-game ritual that has left an impression on the opponents and opposing fans more than once (OOC: similar to the Haka of the New Zealand All Blacks). The players will form a triangle near the kick off circle and lift their arms, which the fans do as well. Then a lone drum will start to signal the rhythm and both players and fans alike will move in unison, each clap accompanied with a loud cry, the claps (and cries) speeding up, creating an overwhelming sense of impending doom.

Stuart Ekstrom - 52 Image
Despite a lot of discussions about Ekstrom's position after the disappointing and quiet group stage exit at World Cup 89 he has one more chance to turn the ship around, also based on the fact that he has been instrumental in getting Tikariot where it is now within the multiversal football tapestry, and he has accepted the challenge. Running the traditional 4-3-3 setup, Ekstrom has been known to nominate players based on the current form instead of just historic merit, which has resulted in young, little capped players getting opportunities even in big tournaments, if their form places them over established players. While the 4-3-3 is the established system, Ekstrom also puts big emphasis on flexibility and fluidity, allowing for the full backs to push forward or the wingers to fall back to create a numeric advantage and either quell opponents' advances or overwhelm them in the play forward. Tactically well educated players are very important in his system as he allows his players a certain degree of freedom on the pitch as well, such as the wingers switching sides or the full backs overlapping the wingers in order to remain unpredictable for opponents and create holes other players can dive into and pull apart the opposing defense.

Image
GOALKEEPER
GK | Brian MERSON | Age: 30 | Team: Twin Saints Image | Caps: 44 | Clean sheets: 10
Mainstay in Tikariot's goal for the last two World Cup cycles, IFCF Champions' League winner with Kitara AA, Brian Merson is without a doubt the Snowy Owls' most successful and in the eyes of many best Tikariotian goal keeper of recent history. Many think that his bold move to Banija helped him take that next step and become a true team leader from behind. Good on the line, strong aerial presence and an excellent read of the game paired with his experience make him the undisputed number 1 in the Tikariot goal.

DEFENDERS
LB | Kelvin ROWLEY | Age: 23 | Team: Oriannor Mountaineers Image | Caps: 15 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 1
On the outside of the defensive quartet, Kelvin Rowley has emerged as one of the top left backs of the league, with tremendous speed, a great eye for his team mates and a strong left foot that can both strike deadly crosses from the goalline and long passes while using his speed to cover space and run off attackers. The only thing he still has to work on is to keep his temper in check as he is still too prone to see yellow cards, but it is this fire that also is infectious and can inspire the rest of the defense.

CB | Xander AUGUSTINSSON | Age: 25 | Team: Xanark City Image | Caps: 4 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 0
One of last season's defensive revelations, Xander Augustinsson had a true breakout season during Xanark's strong return season to the TPL. A very strong physical presence at centre, he is more a stay-at-home defender with strong aerial play and ball recovery, but he also has evolved into an instrumental part of the attacking play with his ability to strike long passes from the back to quickly pick out offensive players.

CB | Caleb MCKINLEY | Age: 21 | Team: Dhun Lagarr FC Image | Caps: 20 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 2
Caleb McKinley has grown into a mainstay both in the Dhun Lagarr and national team defense, as an excellent counterpart to Augustinsson's physical presence he is defensively very sound as well, but adds more speed and technical finesse into the Tikariotian defense. He, too, is capable of helping in switching from defense to offense, but not so much with long passes, but with quicker play.

RB | Clement MCILROY | Age: 23 | Team: Baraldhur AFC Image | Caps: 36 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 1
Clement McIlroy is a returnee to the starting eleven, having pushed Anil Al Hak out of the starting line-up, who is not quite up there with Rowley's speed, but has incredible positioning and introduces a more physical play while still capable of strong, long passes to initiate attacks. Despite some injury problems during the season, he has been Baraldhur's standout defensive player and is considered the undisputed number one choice for the right back position.

MIDFIELDERS
LM | Parris LANGLEY | Age: 25 | Team: Tikariot City FC Image | Caps: 25 | Goals: 3 | Assists: 5
The TPL's runner-up Player of the Year, Langley has definitely broken through as left midfielder of former champions Tikariot City FC with 6 goals and 22 assists to the season. While capable of unleashing a good shot, it is his ability to read the game and deliver laser precise passes pretty much anywhere on the field that makes him such an outstanding player. Having grown into pretty much a complete player, he greatly benefits from having Monaghan behind him in the national team as anchor and allowing him to concentrate on the offensive power.

CM | Celyn MONAGHAN | Age: 29 | Team: Oriannor Mountaineers Image | Caps: 34 | Goals: 5 | Assists: 7
Celyn Monaghan has cemented his position as starter by Stuart Ekstrom and while his offensive numbers have suffered this season so far, he has tremendously grown as grand orchestrator in the midfield of Oriannor, playing in a more defensive role, as legitimate natural successor to McNair with his strong defensive play, using both positioning and tackling to undermine opposing offensive efforts and immediately switching Tikariot into offense mode by re-distributing the ball quickly and efficiently.

RM | Yosvani FERNANDEZ | Age: 21 | Team: Guillarim Blades Image | Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0
The only uncapped player in the starting eleven, Fernandez' role in Guillarim's strong run carrying them into the Challengers' Cup earned him a starting role for Tikariot. In an incredible potent offense with the likes of Abbott, Arrowsmith, Tomlinson, Dodd and Dillard, he was a non-stop threat and dynamo driving the team forward, something that with the offensive talent in front of him and Monaghan behind him could turn into a deadly combination.

FORWARDS
LW | Morris NIGHTHORSE | Age: 22 | Team: Baraldhur AFC Image | Caps: 100 | Goals: 61 | Assists: 40
Despite his lowest offensive output in his career this season, Tikariotian wunderkind Morris Nighthorse does not just live off his name and numbers recorded in the national team, but he is proving his importance way past the sheer numbers now, with a never-say-die work ethic and the sheer will to drive the ball forward, no matter what. With his speed and agility he is a constant offensive threat that can tear any defense to shreds and draw defenders onto him that will allow for his team mates to take advantage of the resulting space. He remains one of the most unpredictable players in the league, making him an incredible weapon in Stuart Ekstrom's arsenal.

CF | Jardel CONNOLLY | Age: 28 | Team: Port Rhovanyon AFC Image | Caps: 71 | Goals: 26 | Assists: 29
The Tikariot Premier League Player of the Year, Connolly was the one outstanding player in a strong and extremely cohesive Port Rhovanyon squad that managed to clinch the championship on match day 46. With 18 goals and ten assists he matched Parris Langley's offensive record of the season and showed the ultimate package. Strong in the air he can sink the ball into goal as well as lay off to other players, but despite his height he also possesses enough agility to be more than just the bulldozer going through the opposing defense.

RW | Adrian GRIMAUD | Age: 27 | Team: Port Tacassam FC Image | Caps: 49 | Goals: 18 | Assists: 11
Season 103 saw the rebirth of Adrian Grimaud as one of the TPL's leading forwards. He is as well-rounded as they come, with a lethal shot from literally anywhere on in and around the box, but also the technical finesse to thread through the defense and play the final pass to the better placed player. With Nighthorse on the other side and both wingers' abilities to seamlessly switch sides, will make them a defensive nightmare for any opponent.

About the Manager

Shane Newman is a Baker Park born, who took the chance to become the first NT boss for Havynwilde with an understanding that he would have time & resources to build from scratch. He was hounded by negative media coverage, the unrealisitc expectations of supporters & the governing body, and no investment to correct the dearth of talent in the domestic league. He was unceremoniously fired while out of the country on holiday. He'll consider his time there a learning experience. Was the chief defensive architect for the BPNT in the first three WC cycles.Aged 49 and married with three children--a boy and two girls--he will look to the domestic league for talent by focusing on technique, pace, and positional flexibility.

The Playing XI

#1 Steve Leghorn (Goalkeeper)
Steve Leghorn, that name when spoken in Indusse creates a legendary vibe. If anyone asks an Indussean who's your favourite goalkeeper, they would say without wasting a second that it's none other than Steve. Steve is well known due to his performance and his charitable trust. He's a well known figure in the nation who could be a political mastermind. He started his career in Trau de Mongers FC, a local football club in Southbay which soon died after his transfer. His quality performance in the club got him a direct ticket to Southbay Riveria FC B team and soon into the main team. He played for three seasons for Southbay and won the Golden Gloves award in all the seasons. His omnipresent performance got him into the national camp and get him into the best Goalkeeper the nation has ever seen. After this transfer from Southbay to Dhalopura FC, he's been winning all the Golden Gloves in the participated seasons without giving others a chance to snatch them. He's the real saviour of Indusse, saving the nation from the cannon ball like opponent goal shots.

#6 Sampath Singh Aksinwala (Defender)
The Aksinwalas are a well known wrestling clan in Sindvpore. They are those people out there who smash everyone down who stands against them. Sampath Singh Aksinwala could have followed his family customs and traditions and become a wrestling champion smashing all down like a rock. Well, he had started his sporting career as a wrestler back in his 13s but he slowly got interested in soccer and with his fit physique he was a perfect fit for a defender. At his early years, he always got red cards in his matches since he used to throw his opponents away thinking that he is wrestling. The Local Clubs still gave him chance to play and he slowly changed his wrestling in soccer into total defender football. He started to be known all over Sindvpore and he got another call from Sindvpore FC. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and played a major role in their Liga Prima Victory and FFI Cup Victory. He is now the vice captain of Sindvpore FC and is a really important member of the Indussean National Team.

#13 Mathias Paulson (Defender)
Mathias Paulson born to a wealthy Syrian Christian family in Southbay. He wasn't a soccer maniac or something, who would have started playing for clubs before teenage. He started playing at the age of fifteen for several local clubs including his school and college clubs. After this Sport Medicine graduation from Saint Louis Holiness College in Jawaruyah, he got a mail from the Jawaruyah XI FC for being a defence and fitness co trainer. With his outmost hardwork in the game, he soon won a lot of awards and got a call from Rockies International FC for being their defender. He soon left Jawaruyah for Rockies Islands, it was his perfect defending which let the club rise from Division to to Primary Division tournament Liga Prime. The Team reached top three of the primary division tournament after his arrival and he also received a lot of awards for his play. With his arrival in Liga Prime and as a successor to former Rockies Defender Maryland Bruno (Maryland is his nickname because he used to run a cookie brand called Maryland Food), he got into the radar of National team selectors. He later got the call of the selectors to join the national team camp which was the turnover in his career. He soon became a well known defender in the nation and the captain of Rockies International FC.

#4 Aaron McMuller (defender)
Aaron McMuller, born as Aaron Davis Miller is a thirty two year old defender who earned fame during the early transition period. He started playing for Malta FC at the age of Eighteen since his father was the owner of the club. Eventhough it's an unconstitutional admission to the club, he later got to be the key player of the team. His direct ticket to the club without any obstacles made his way to the national camp easy. His defensive analysis gameplay got famed through out Malta and it's neighborhood provinces of Sindvpore and Cheralam. With the fame rising and clubs waiting to get him to their home, the national team selectors caught on him and added him into the national team squad list. Everything was quick for him, the transition from a club player into a professional footballer. The transition from a rich kid into a really rich earning star. The transition from slow paced defense into quick defense and counter strikes... Everything. He is also known as the only defender in Indusse who has scored 100 goals in their domestic history.

#9 Alexis Budtedjson (Mid Fielder)
Alexis Budtedjson, that's the name of the all in all of pass gameplay. Budtedjson has been a major part of the team in every international match played. He has been scoring goals, defending goals and making ways for goals. A complete footballer they say, he's having the chance to be the next captain of Indusse if he doesn't retire. Alexis was born as a neighbor to Baskar Kumar and has been his childhood friend. Both of them started to chase their dreams together and it was Alexis who got into professional football first. Alexis started his professional career with New Hind City FC B team. His perfect play, in the B team got him into Dhalopura FC. His best career club ever, Dhalopura FC got him into fame and later Gav him the ticket to National Team. He scored his first international goal in his debut match and he says that it's his favourite memory. He later got transferred into Sindvpore FC and has been playing for the team. During the colonial era in Indusse, he started working for the national police force (NPF) and he got promoted into the assistant commissioner of Hind City. His wife, Samantha Budtedjson is a well known tennis player of Indusse. She's currently playing in the NSTT for Indusse.

#14 Djetson Hazle (Mid Fielder)
Born as Djetson Hazlett to Dr. Henry Hazlett and Maria Henry in Sindvpore, Djetson change his surname at the age of sixteen to Hazle for joining film industry since there was a prominent star "Philip Hazlett" existing. He couldn't do much in the film industry, which changed his route into football. He played for the national U-18 team due to his absolutely commendable performance for his club Sindvpore FC. His performance also brought him into the national team and got himself as.a key player. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and took part in the Championship of FFI. He is married to Katherine Hazlett, daughter of film star Philip Hazlett. Katherine is also a prominent film star in Indusse. Hazle also took part in futsal and also tried a hand in hockey. But he later realised that he was made for professional soccer.

#10 Baskar H Kumar (Forward)
The best footballer Indusse has seen, that's what Baskar Kumar is. "If Baskar isn't there then, indusse wouldn't play well anytime soon" says Joseph Moteudi.Baskar Kumar was born to District Magistrate Hariharan Kumar and Adv. Maya Devi in Hind City. He started his soccer experience at an age of twelve playing for his school team. He later graduated for Political Studies and played for the university team. His quality performance for the University got him selected for Hind City FC B team and later to Hind City FC. His performance got him a ticket to the national team and he is still one of the oldest players in the national team. He is the current captain of New Hind City FC and Indussean National Team. He is currently the only player in Indusse scoring five hundred goals and the highest goal scorer in Indussean history. At the time of colonial opression, he took part in the independence movement and became the first and current president (term two) of Indusse. He played a major role in changing indusse from "Demoarchal Kingdom" to "Al shayarid empire" to "Holy Patriarchal Union and Republic". He was invested with Bharatratna award given out by India for the best politician.

#7 Bechun Butea (Forward)
Once the best substitute to Baskar Kumar, now he faces a lot of competition from his fellow mates out there.Born to the family of footballers, Bechun didn't face any difficulty to choose his career. At the age of seven, his father admitted him to a local coaching center and with the basic skills got him into the Sindvpore Football Federation Training Center. Bechun's father was Takawilaka Butea, who got elected as the President of Sindvpore Football Federation. Bechun played his first professional match for Sindvpore FC and got transferred into Southbay Riveria FC. He later scored a lot of Goals opening his way to the national camp. He played as a captain substitute and vice captain of the national team and captain of Southbay Riveria FC until Baskar Kumar joined. He also played a major role in the Goblin Humanoid Project which created Goblin Grundjee, who's the first non human national player in Indusse. A football goblin was Bechun's idea. He also got the National Sports Academy Mentor post and is currently the cheif mentor of U-18 national team. His brother, Lalguvasara is the coach of Malta FC and his son Jackson Butea is playing for Sindvpore FC under 18 team.

#11 Antonio Mersiás (Forward)
The second youngest recruit in the camp, Antonio Mersiás is a well known youth idol in the nation. He was the captain of Indussean youth team in the Sporting World Cup. He led the team into the semi finals of the tournament till they lost to Starblaydia's young guns. He was born in Karadawadi, a county in Dhalopura to Francis Antony, who was a carpenter and Selina Francis. He lived as a poor kid going to the village school who wasn't so good at academics but bright in sports. His quality sporting skills caught the eyes of the headmaster there, who admitted him to the local football training sessions. The headmaster soon send him to the Jawal-Biesse the nearest city for his studies. He played for the Jawal-Biesse FC for three years and captained the team until he was called to play for the Dhalopura FC. He got selected to the U-18 team as soon as he played his first match for Dhalopura FC. His quality play in the club also got him promoted as the captain of the youth team. His awesome, historical performance for the youth team got him a quick ticket to the National Team Camp. He is currently an important part of the national team who cannot be replaced easily.

#100 Goblin Grundjee (Forward)
Goblin Grundjee who is the first ever non-human sportsperson from Indusse. The Grundjee's are one of the families of the Goblin species that was created by the scientists by DNA Modelling. The scientists created a new race of Goblins through gene editing and combining the DNAs of Humans with certain animals and Algae. The goblin species were divided into three families were Grundjees are one of the major part. The other two families are called Mithys and Auris. The current members of the grundjee family is Colonel Grundjee who is a Colonel in the royal army of Indusse. The gene of colonel Grundjee was created by merging the genes of three colonels of the army with the genes of a eagle and the green algae. The green algae plays a necessary role in getting the green Color of the skin. The other member is Goblin Grundjee who is currently playing for the juniors. His gene was created by merging the genes of David Bekem, a former football and of a wild horse. The green algae is also a necessary part of the composition. The grundjee family has the green composition of skins due to green algae. Whereas, Mithys has a brownish red skin due to the presence of Blue-green Algae with Iron sediments, Auris family has the skin Color of a normal human as there isn't any presence of algae. The skin textures and patterns of the goblins are same as the humans and the color is the only thing that can discriminate it with humans. The scientific community believe that the goblin race will create revolution in the world of science. The creation of Goblin Grundjee was overseen by fellow player Bechun Butea who also played a major role in bringing Grundjee as a experimental player. Well, Grundjee is currently one of the best strikers the nation has seen.

The Starsian National Football Team is The 14 Stars's national squad in association soccer competitions for national associations across the entire multiverse world of soccer.
There have been alot of changes since their last appearance in the World Cup 88 qualifiers, the sole governing body of the Starsian soccer industry had been disbanded and replaced by the Starsian Soccer Association or SSA for short.
Along with this the special techniques and post-human capabilities of the Starsian players have been banned from all competitions and by the domestic association after what happened in the Starsian - Vilita match where it was shown that this power was too dangerous for the sport and shouldn't be used.

Lastly alot of the old guard had been replaced, everyone in the old team was almost 30+ with mid-tournament a few younger additions although it was of no importance anymore.
Only Maximillian Flare, Alan White, Morris Valerian and Nicolay Moon are remaining from the original squad.

Marcus Blade after the disgraceful presence was fired as the team's coach, although there was a problem that the new association had forgotten to look into before doing this.
They forgot that there was a lack of proper coaches and there currently were aside from Marcus Blade and his staff no good coaches with the ability to manage a team at such high level.
This was solved by looking abroad, in Eshialand where The 14 Stars had their debut against the industry was also in need of more opportunity to improve and increase skill.
James Landry and his companion Steven Young were asked by the association and they agreed to manage the Starsian side and hopefully lead it to new heights.

Tactical Set-Up

The Starsian side is a very skilled team with a very high team chemistry and morale combining it with their quick paced game they are an opponent for all teams to watch out for due to their offensive style.
They play in a 4-3-3 which through the match can be changed to various other formations suiting the game that they play however they are an offensive team loving to have possesion of the ball.
It is know the Starsian team loves game control, taking the initiative and play their best, they are more willing to play a great game of soccer rather then simply getting a good result.

Star players

Nicolay Moon
One of the veterans amongst the group Nicolay is an experienced and calculated defender who knows exactly how to effectively block off enemy attacks.
playing for Haunted FC his whole career made him a local hero and his leadership is valuable to the shape and focus of the entire defense line of this team in its current state.
Lastly it is known that Nicolay was one of the best defenders of the old World Cup Qualifier 88 squad that sadly ended as a disaster and he hopes to have a good last part of his career.

Morris Valerian
A central midfielder also with alot of experience, Morris Valerian was one of the last ones to join the veterans and he is with his creativity and assertive character the heart of the midfield.
Morris is also the captain of this team, he is very good at motivating his players and bringing the best out of them with alot of positivity which is why the younger players have alot of respect for him.
However this season was tough for him, he also knows he isn't getting younger and he in the coming years hopes to make this team ready for the future, with a new generation of great players and new leaders.

Maximillian Flare
Without a doubt the most famous and also the oldest member of the team, Maximillian has always been known as the new ace and holds multiple records as the most scoring player internationally ever.
Maximillian in his younger age replaced Marcus Blade the ex-coach and ever since had a great friendship with him and learnt all he knows from Marcus as he went on the coach the national side quite long.
Now with a new coach and staff coming in it also means a new generation is ready to take center stage, Maximillian has confirmed that he will shine one last time this year and will then resign from the national team.
He always had been a skilled, experienced and very inspirational player dominating the air with his speciality in volleys, headers and the likes scoring the most beautiful of goals throughout his career.
But every career comes to an end one day, but that does not mean he'll disappear.

Kira Blade
The woman that everyone is looking out for, the next generation's leading light and the daughter of national hero and Phoenix academy coach Marcus Blade is the new up and coming star of the team.
While very young her skill is unmatched, Kira is able to read the flow of the game, adapt to her opponents and keep evolving herself even within a match she will always keep getting better which each time she plays.
Inherting her father insane scoring ability and spead she is more of a technical player and gets easily fouled on because she is known as the best player of the team and quickest, however her team play is very strong with the older members aswell and she shares a good friendship with Maximillian Flare.

Stadium Information

All Starsian matches will be played at Roulette Park, this is a multi-venue made for the Starsian soccer team only.
Roulette Park is equipped with high tech railways, multiple stadiums where everyone can watch and it is not too far from the Starsian city of Port Vale where the heart of our country is with millions of people residing in Port Vale.
Each stadium also has special features, those will be listed below to ensure everyone understands what it is about.

Cyclone Stadium:
This stadium with 195,000 seats has many turbines located around the interior. Three small, connected turbines or jet engines are located on each of the four upper walls. A giant turbine, located on the ceiling, takes up at least half of the ceiling's surface space.
The turbines' purpose is to generate tornadoes, or cyclones of wind against the teams that are playing in this stadium.
Image

Ice Palace Arena
As the name does say this stadium is literally frozen, this frozen stadium is a challenge on itself and often is it a field where you get alot of bruises and minor injuries without any fouls.
This stadium has 165,000 seats and is also only used for these highly anticipated world cup matches.
Image

[Water World Stadium
The grounds of this stadium that has room for 175,000 people is right on top of the water. The grounds, or the field, is made out of wooden planks held together by metal reinforcements making it more solid then only wood.
In this stadium sometimes a ''pitch down'' occurs which means that sometimes parts of the soccer field will be gone and filled with water which you will have to avoid during the games you play here.
If you somehow manage to get the ball in the water it would be a free kick for your opponent.
Image

Image

Pinball Stadium
This stadium that has place for 200,000 fans is made to the theme of the classic arcade game pinball, it also works the same and the whole field is equipped with pinball features to make each game even more intense for the players.
Own goals by pinball pieces? your own fault a goal is a goal and every goal counts here, so be aware of your surroundings!
Image

Shifting Sands Arena
Similar to its naming this stadium that has place for 140,000 fans has shifting sand.
Moving sand is the challenge in this arena, it will only move horizontal and vertical but its up to you to find out how to overcome this challenge not to mention this stadium being in the hottest part of the entire country.
Be sure to bring alot of water, you will need it in this hot stadium filled with sand and dust where matches will be played.

Savojar Roster for WCQ 90

TEAM

STAFF
Coach: Gylfi Haukason
Age: 57 // Coach since: WCQ 90
With disappointing performances (two missed World Cups and a quarterfinal out in the Copa Rushmori), Daniella Strauss has lost much of her good will with the SFFB, and the Nepharan manager has not had her contract prolonged despite a Cup of Harmony final appearance. The SFFB returned to the domestic scene for her successor, and found its man in Gylfi Haukason. Previously coaching Admiral Storevik to a series of second and third places in the SFS A, he has now moved on to take the reins of the national side. Gylfi (like many Ejanans, he prefers to go by his first name) plays a balanced game, and has been able to overcome regular changes to his side at Admiral, which makes the SFFB believe he will be able to stabilise and reinvigorate a fledgling Savojar side.

Coaching Team: Pall Olason, Mikael Södergren, Lasse Tjoer
Ages: 50, 42, 45 // Special functions: Tactical and defensive coach, Technical coach, Physical trainer
Pall Olason has been Gylfi’s assistant at Admiral and followed his mentor and friend to the Northlights. He has been a libero in his active career and has been in charge of the defence at Admiral, but also plays a general more tactical role to Gylfi’s role of an emotional leader and mediator, although this is not a strict division of labour.
Mikael Södergren has a history of a technical assistant coach at various SFS A teams, including the surprising Rotor Värstjö side of SFS Season 8 and being on the staff of the double-winning Partisan side of SFS Season 10. His job is to run day to day practice and give technical advice to players; besides his work with the national team, he currently is a trainer at the National Football Academy at Högvald, where he coaches and develops Savojarna’s biggest youth talents.
Lasse Tjoer is the physical coach and condition trainer, and has previously worked for multiple SFS A teams. He places a lot of emphasis on discipline, but gives the players a large amount of freedom to tune their practice regime to their own tastes as long as they stick to the targets. He is quite popular in the team, and a good motivator.

Goalkeeper Coach: Valtteri Andersson
Age: 54
Andersson was a long-term goalkeeper for Energie Thorsborg and got directly transferred into the club's youth department when he retired at age 33. Following some good work with the club's youth department, he got trained as a GK coach and worked with the first team and the U21 of Energie for a while before being brought onto the squad of the NT early on. He still works with Energie on the side and is reputed to be very good at developing a goalkeeper's weaknesses.

Doctor: Dr. Christer Ljungberg
Age: 60
Christer is the head of the medical team of the Savojar NT and generally has a reputation of being the team’s good soul. Many players have come to him over the years to discuss their insecurities or physical problems, to the point that many consider Ljungberg to essentially be a second mental coach.

SQUAD
Ages reflect the age at the beginning of the qualifying campaign; players will age one year until the World Cup proper.

ROSTER SELECTION

There will be an 23-man-roster announced for each scorination in RP’s. Please refer back to the last RP to ensure the most recent roster is used. If no roster is given for any scorination, the following can be assumed to be the call-up for the match in question (changes due to injury or suspension can occur according to RP), with starters in bold:

System: 4-2-3-1

GK: Pakanen - Virulainen
LB: Pedersen - Kiivälä
CB: Zirkova, Nymark - Forsberg, Dmitriev
RB: Skov - Strid
DM: Klaebo, Ilkkanen - Tedenby, Niskanen
LM: Voynov - Östberg
OM: Poulsen - Lundell
RM: Jashkin - Gyldenström
ST: Ehlers - Alvesen, Hedenberg

TACTICS

STYLE: -1.5

Under Gylfi, Savojarna return to their roots of a defensively oriented game with fast counter-attacking. Off the ball, they are likely to have their three central midfielders fall in a line, with the winger on the side away from the ball assisting the defence and the one on the side of the ball pressing lightly together with the striker. This is a more passive side than some past Northlights iterations, letting the opponent come at them when not on the ball, rather than seeking to press highly. When on the ball, they usually start attacks from Adrian Klaebo, who plays long balls to wingers or seeks a pass to Poulsen, whereas his partner Ilkkanen is taking on a destructive role and tries to create the space for Klaebo to launch counters. Savojarna’s wingbacks like to overlap and join longer attacks as well, but will be more careful on counters. All Savojars are physically in good conditions and likely to gain advantages over less physical sides in longer games.

ROLES
Captain: Jashkin - Pakanen - Zirkova
Free Kicks (direct): Ehlers (left, centre), Jashkin (right)
Free Kicks (long): Klaebo
Corners: Pedersen, Klaebo (left), Jashkin (right)
Penalty Kick: Poulsen, Alvesen, Nweke, Ehlers, Lundell, Jashkin, Zirkova [also progression for shooutouts]

VENUE

Nationalstadion Carl Gustaf Bjurman, Sjoedrhavn (cap. 76'800)
The Nationalstadion Carl Gustaf Bjurman (shortly called “The Bjurman” by Sjoedrhaveners) is the largest stadium of Savojarna, located in the representative Revolutionsparken (Park of the Revolution) in the Savojar capital and largest city of Sjoedrhavn. It is not used by any club site, but serves as the home stadium of the Savojar National Team and the official stadium of the Savojarsk Cup final. Furthermore, it commonly hosts concerts, large events, and has gained international fame for being the final site of the 35th Copa Rushmori in Astograth and Savojarna, where Nephara beat the hosts, as well as hosting Cazadores Cathair's 3-2 victory over AFC Treason in the 7th IFCF Champions League Final. The Bjurman offers a high-quality, modern experience in a beautiful park by a canal, reachable in short time from the city centre by the Sjoedrhavn Metro, which stops minutes away from the stadium.

OOC note: The RL stand-in for stadium pictures is the Stadion Lushniki in Moscow.

Whilst there have been female managers of the Bostopian national team, Blue was seen as a 'once-in-a-lifetime' footballing talent that the OIFA could find no reason, legally or otherwise, to exclude her from the national team. It was her second goal of the CAFA final which had sealed the Ochres 3 – 1 win over Saltstead with 3 minutes remaining of the 90.

Kits & Logo

Home, Away and Third

ImageImageImage

The Ochre Islands kits were designed and manufactured by OchreSport, with input from the Ochre Islands Football Association.
The home kit uses the familiar Ochre colours of Ochre and Blue Ochre, moving away from the stripes seen during CAFA1, WC89 qualifying and the Ochre's Championship-winning CAFA 2 campaign.

The away kit is a contiuation of the popular 'Anaiaway' theme promoted by the OIFA, which they say 'promotes peace & harmony and reminds us that whilst we may be in an away kit, the Anaia region is still our home'.

The third kit pulls on an idea from CAFA 2, combining the official colours of two of the islands of the Ochre Islands. For World Cup 90 and CAFA 3, the Ochres are using the turquoise of Jensee and the juniper of Juniper Island. The OIFA will use colour schemes promoting the islands which make up the Ochres in future footballing tournaments.

Before CAFA 2, the Ochre Islands Football Association ran a competition to design the team's logo, which was won by a 34 year old man with neither design experience or taste. Fortunately, an update of the design to account for taste was commissioned and outsourced by the OIFA, which is as below. The badge prominently features a 'little mint green hat', which actually commerorates the Ochre Islands victory in the second CAFA tournament.

Image

The Ochre Islands play a possession-based style of football which aims to prevent the opposition from scoring by simply not letting them have the ball. A shorter, slower passing game is preferred, though long passes and crosses will be attempted if it looks reasonably safe. As the Ochre teams improve in quality, this is likely to go from being a defensive outlook to a more attacking one.

Ever since the abject failure of the youth teams at their first CRJ and the tepid performance at the Di Bradini Cup, a new argument has sprung up in barrooms and message boards throughout Cabo Azure; was the lackluster performance a direct result of Azurean player development practices, or did the lads simply not want it enough? With many of those self-same youth players having made a name for themselves abroad, for clubs as storied as Dun Lhagarr, Colonial Sile, and Olympic Thessia, it appears that perhaps the first camp has been vindicated in the long run. Now a new argument brews; should Paulinho prefer those players who've proved themselves abroad, or keep his core of Cabo Azure-based players?

Some decisions make themselves; Amilcar Branco's starting spot is safe as long as he continues to earn it, and it would be a mistake not to give Adalberto Montenegro room to stretch his long legs. Others are more nuanced, such as deciding whether to rotate the Brandao brothers in or keep Medeiro and Moniz, both of whom have impressed abroad, as every-match starters. FInally, there are some straight-up dark horses in the roster, including "Os Dos Vascos", Gouveia and Cardoso, either one of whom is a strong like-for-like sub with Cleto Silveira, but whose judgment and synergy may be called into question.

Tactics
Image
Cabo Azure plays a free-flowing, athletic game that values individual effort over team chemistry and the ability of defenders to get forward over their ability to play compact. The types of player Azureans prefer is typified in Amilcar Branco, a pacey left back who frequently overlaps and sets up chances in the box, and Adalberto Montenegro, a brute-force center forward known mostly for bullying defenders in the box and scoring a lot of tap-ins.

The Gaffer
An amiable, always-smiling man in his sixties who's been in Azurean football as long as anyone can remember, Paulinho has helmed the Maçaricas since their debut in the seventy-sixth Baptism of Fire. Azurean public opinion is notoriously fickle, but Paulinho's tendency to look like a completely different manager from match to match means you can't exactly blame the fans for not having a consistent opinion. #PaulinhoOut trends on Azurean social media channels after every loss and most draws, but he's held onto the job by dint of the FAF's reluctance to hire a foreigner.

Goalkeepers
GK - Rufino Antunes - 28 y/o - Lagostim
A tall, athletic shotstopper, not prone to coming off his line or making insane saves, but very rarely caught flat-footed.

GK - Ambrosio Gomez - 19 y/o - Olympic Thessia (MYT)
A former U18 player, earned the starting spot for Olympic in the 31/32 Top League. Has shown vast improvement into a strong keeper, may challenge Antunes for time between the stakes.

GK - GIlberto Valente - 25 y/o - Portelo
Lithe and quick, but prone to overcommitting. Rose to prominence when Portelo did the double a season ago, winning the Liga Hidalgo Primer and the Copa Maçarica.

GK - Marcelo Batista - 33 y/o - VIlla del Sol
The best of five or six interchangeable LHP goalkeepers. Never capped before, unlikely to start now barring an unfortunate accident befalling the three primary keepers.

Defenders
RB - Amilcar Branco - 22 y/o - Dhun Lagarr FC (TKT)
A pacey fullback with a penchant for overlapping and one of the only young Azureans to produce abroad, in his case with frequent IFCF side Dhun Lagarr in Tikariot.

LB - Ademar de Lima - 21 y/o - Sao Vicente
Branco's doppelganger; though less pacey and not as creative going forward, he is actually much better in 1v1 situations than his rival.

CB - Adão Moniz - 21 y/o - Reschensreppur (GRF)
A surprise inclusion in the CR39 roster who proved to be an able replacement for beloved team captain Gustavo Macedo. Though undersized at 175cm, reads attackers well and doesn't give up easy chances.

CB - Deodato Medeiro - 22 y/o - Marine Coast United (VIL)
One of the first Azureans to play abroad, Medeiro has surprised many by earning a starting position with Marine Coast, a mid-table team in one of the best leagues in the multiverse. Has developed significantly since moving to Vilita, and the starting spot is likely his to lose.

FB - Julio Fernandez - 30 y/o - Sao Vicente
Returning from a season-ending injury, the Sao Vicente man will have to work to get his starting spot back from the upstart de Lima, but his calm head and vision of the field make him an asset off the bench.

FB - Norberto Carneiro - 26 y/o - Villa Silva
A serviceable backup fullback, he lacks de Lima's grit and Branco's offensive prowess, but can nevertheless be counted on for a shift when called upon.

CB - Donato Brandão - 19 y/o - SC Lagos (BOL)
Along with his brother Kevin, one-half of the second set of brothers to play for the Maçaricas in their short history. Has struggled to find playing time at his club behind Bollonich international Klingto and Tikariotian prospect Teodor Finnman.

CB - Gabriel Mendez - 29 y/o - Perolas
One of the few remaining veterans from the original CR38 roster, Mendez made a surprise offseason move to recently-promoted Perolas, where he has subsequently been named captain and led them to their first-ever IFCF berth. Will seek to retain his starting spot against a glut of young, overseas-based Azurean centerbacks.

CB - Kevin Brandão - 24 y/o - Villa Arboles
Donato's older brother, a supremely reliable if unimpressive centerback who excels at defending set pieces. May see the field as a defensive substitute if Paulihno goes to five at the back late in matches.

FB - Marcelinho Costa - 21 y/o - Regium Immortum (OAM)
A largely unheralded fullback, he has made the most of the extra playing time gifted to him by his club's back-to-back IFCF seasons. A good all-round player, he figures to be a planned substitute where fresh legs are needed to see a match out.

Midfielders
MF - Abilio Serra - 32 y/o - Lagostim
The Lagostim captain has proven time and again his ability to pull the levers and quarterback an offense. Expect more of the same this cycle; short, smart passes and good positioning leading to opportunities upfield.

MF - Quirino Alves - 31 y/o - Villa Arboles
A defensive-minded center-mid, capable of disrupting plays and winning duels in midfield but running out of options the further upfield you expect him to play.

MF - Marciano Ferreira - 26 y/o - Sao Cristobal
A prototypical left winger, good at getting the ball forward and into the box and not much else. His technicality leaves a lot to be desired, especially on defense, but he can generally move fast enough to make up for it.

MF - Leonel Medeiros - 31 y/o - Lagostim
Partnering with Serra in the midfield at domestic powerhouse Lagostim, Medeiros lacks the pace and touch to be a major factor for the Maçaricas. Still, his positioning and relatively low quotient of mistakes make him a possible choice for more defensive-minded games.

MF - Glaucio Santos - 32 y/o - Villa del Sol
Returns to the fold after nearly a year away on the back of an impressive domestic season that saw Villa del Sol win the Copa Maçarica and miss out on a Challengers' Cup place by one point of goal difference. Slow, with a heavy first touch, but good defensively and still has the endurance to go box-to-box.

MF - Nataniel Reis - 27 y/o - Pemba
The Pemba captain and a multiple MVP in the Liga Hidalgo Segundo, Reis was crucial to his team's promotion and subsequent top-half finish. A prototypical CAM, scores goals and finds runners in the box. Likely an offensive sub or a rotational starter.

MF - Lucas Barbosa - 24 y/o - Natal
A Natal academy product recently come into his own, Barbosa still presents as a raw prospect, but shows flashes of brilliance going up the side.

MF - Marco Lobo - 18 y/o - Villa Silva
After being signed from the dregs of the Liga Hidalgo Segundo, Lobo has evolved into an every-game starter for Silva, based on his preternatural awareness and excellent pass placement. A like for like sub with Alves.

MF - Narciso Maciel - 20 y/o - Colonial SIle (VIL)
An Ariquemes youth product finding his way in the Vilitan League, Maciel has demonstrated speed and awareness beyond his years in providing ball service to Turorian standout Kala'a Yuliizala.

Forwards
CF - Adalberto Montenegro - 33 y/o - Villa Silva (captain)
A brute-force striker who continues to bang in goals, Montenegro has been the talisman that's kept the Maçaricas going since their inception. All that's asked of him is to score, and he does it well and often.

ST - Cleto Silveira - 23 y/o - Vantanoch FC (TKT)
A rising star for the Maçaricas, Silveira has proven his worth as a pacey, skilled winger behind Montenegro. Crazy fast, with great timing that enrages opposing fans when he manages to stay just on-sides.

ST - Ademar Carriço - 34 y/o - Villa Silva
Montenegro's longtime friend and striking partner, the two of them will look to continue their collaboration for at least one more cycle.

FW - Nelson Botehlo - 25 y/o - Villa Arboles
A like-for-like with Montenegro, Botehlo has all the physicality but lacks the killer instinct that has made his mentor indispensible. Still a damn serviceable striker, likely to see more matches this cycle as Montenegro's knees continue to age.

FW - Vasco Gouveia - 20 y/o - Tikariot City FC (TKT)
A wily, creative forward who's found a home with one of Tikariot's most storied clubs. His two goals, one assist in one half against Mytanija in the CR may prove a fluke or a preview of things to come.

FW - Fulvio Dantas - 29 y/o - Cidade de Prata
Captain for Os Mineiros, a versatile player who is at home most anywhere on the pitch, but does his best work closer to goal. Back on the roster as a forward after an experimental stint as a midfielder.

FW - Vasco Cardoso - 18 y/o - Whitepill (EUR)
A promising prospect had a substantial impact at the club level in San Ortelio, but was forced to start over when he was released for reasons unrelated to football and scooped up by Whitepill on a free. A creative goalscorer who is sure to benefit from the mentorship provided by the striker unit.

FW - Arsenio Galma - 25 y/o - Pemba
A late-blooming striker who's emerged recently for the newly-promoted LHP club. Skilled with long-range shots, penalties, and set pieces.

Geektopia WC Iazu Information ǂ Each WC cycle now seniors a Geektopian person by 306.36 years, instead of a ludicrous, uncalculated 300. Minimum and maximum ages for footy players from the country are 1,656 through 4,140. These minimums and maximums lie roughly between 4,232 and 6,440 regarding managers (this meaning that Dingledine in WCQ88 was as old as Australia iirc). ǂ To the Quarterfinals: Attempt 3

• #69 Lierin Minilinsirtaytfah Y Nayj (Defender [Full-Back], 2462 years) [2T] [NP — Lierin gets a start for the national team bench after leading O.K. Rod Guafre, and for some time, the division in goal involvements. Though he is not considered by himself or others to be at home yet in the national team, the fitness coach and manager Hojnacki plans to make his intentions known by kicking off his second long-term fitness project: making it so that Lierin maintains healthy blood pressure levels via carefully stabilized strength training and cardio hybrid workouts, lays off the artificial sweeteners, and maximizes fat loss without hindering gains. This is off the back of Project Swadley, where he diagnosticated Swadley into a well-oiled machine over the WC89 cycle, making it so that he is only slightly more athletic than Lertora and Higginbottom and more likely to challenge Lertora for a spot in the eleven.]

CURRENT PLAYERS (33) | [1T] = Starting player, [i] = Injured, [LC] = Low Confidence, [2T] = Regularly Plays as a Substitute, [3T] = Reserve Team, [NP] = Notable Player, [c] = Captain, [¢] = Vice Captain, [3Td] = Regularly Played as a Reserve, [2Td] = Regularly Played as a Substitute, [1Td] = Started, [AIM] = Raised in Aimena or partly Aimenan, [UNI] = Raised in Unimon or partly Unim onite, [BCN] = Raised in Burur caq Noaksi or partly Noaksian, [KAR] = Raised in Islas Cardinales or partly Cardinnic

• #4 Livengood (Defender, 2787 years) [1T]
• #5 Dargy (Defender, 3312 years) [2T]
• #6 Germaine Sophie (Midfielder, 2412 years) [NP — An ex-gridiron player who is mostly known for how mindbogglingly stupid his post-game interviews in the World Bowl competitions of old came off as. His aggressiveness and playing style are a perfect showcase of how Sophie doesn't run it through before he acts. Although there is a difference when seeing someone having a natural talent for the creative and the unpredictable as opposed to making unconventional and idiotic blunders on the pitch, Germaine Sophie possesses both of these characteristics.] [1T]
• #7 Abdill (Midfielder/Forward, 2706 years) [1T]
• #8 Matkowski (Midfielder, 3012 years) [NP — Went to a training camp because of self-confidence issues and is now the primary choice for throw-ins. From Matkowski's impressive progress, he unknowingly coerced Dingledine that the more powerful a throw-in was, the more important to know who threw it in the first place. Looking into Matkowski's personal record, it's thirty five yards, at least ten more than the second longest distance by another countryman, Julio.] [1T]
• #9 Shamammi (Midfielder, 3312 years) [3T]
• #10 Nankervis (Midfielder, 2562 years) [2T]

• #13 Julio (Defender/Midfielder, 3387 years) [1T]
• #15 Lazzari (Forward, 2682 years) [NP — Lazzari's play style is speckled with fire on top of intensity, and for a Central Striker, he has countless traits that belong to a defender, like being excellent at slide tackling and possessing a ball recovery rate of eighty-eight percent in his seventy eight appearances as a forward at The Stinemates United. Almost never gets injured.] [1T]
• #16 Witrago (Midfielder, 2487 years) [3T]
• #17 Rolke (Defender/Forward, 3237 years) [1T]
• #18 Germain Sophie (Defender, 1662 years) [NP — Germaine Sophie's asexually reproduced son who starts on the pitch more often. It is said that once in a leap year GS18 won't sprain on the field.] [1T] [c]
• #19 Thorud (Defender, 3162 years) [1T]
• #20 Rinnert (Forward, 3462 years) [1T]
• #21 Higginbottom (Goalkeeper, 2412 years) [3T]
• #22 Lertora (Goalkeeper, 3012 years) [NP — Once said, "Imagine being a goalkeeper with the jersey number 1 and still not starting.".] [1T]
• #23 Rebimbas (Midfielder, 3162 years) [2T]
• #24 Ringwald (Forward/Midfielder, 3225 years) [1T]

• #27 Swenty (Forward, 2412 years) [1T]
• #28 Ogrodowski (Defender, 2487 years) [3T]
• #29 Diminno (Midfielder/Defender, 2787 years) [NP — Isn't as mouthy as before, but Diminno's teammates and colleagues miss the whimsical, childish motivational advice he gave to others as if a talking jokebook. An element of happiness was taken from the team when newly appointed manager and workout expert Hojnacki told "Dimi", as his compatriots call him, to "straighten up".] [1T]
• #30 Ponti (Midfielder, 2712 years) [1T]
• #32 Knake (Goalkeeper, 3612 years) [3T]
• #33 Pitter (Midfielder, 3162 years) [NP — Up one file from a ball-sweeping defender to a ball-sweeping midfielder, Pitter made and adjusted to the change as soon as he was asked to by his manager who also holds one secondary job as a fitness coach.] [1T]
• #34 Jakius Krutiqayir Tarun (Forward, 3667 years) [2T]
• #35 Ratter (Defender, 2337 years) [3T] [NP — Down one file from a midfielder to a well positioned defender. The gaffer, as well as adjusting positions spryly, adjusted the hell out of Ratter's attitude when he first opposed the move, only after understanding that his shift of posture was essential to keeping the faith regarding one familiar 3-4-3 formation played throughout the last three years of World Cup Qualifying was Ratter able to be punctual in training sessions.

Sajnuran National Football Team

Stadiums

National Stadium

The National Stadium is the largest stadium in Sajnur, with a capacity of 102,000 people. Located in the capital city of Javoser, home to more than 12.5 million people, it is the primary arena for big sporting events in the country, hosting a semi-final and most finals of Sajnur’s FA Cup, and several finals of the Tarvolan League, tarvolan being a code of football indigenous to Sajnur and traditionally Sajnur’s biggest sport. It has also hosted the biggest of Sajnur’s concerts and the inaugurations of two Presidents.

Built in 1952 and renovated in 2015, the stadium has a retractable roof, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and affordable food and drink options to provide a comfortable experience for all fans while the stadium has been designed to allow fans to produce a raucous atmosphere befitting of large sporting events. The stadium is easily accessible by public transport, and has thousands of parking spaces for those who choose to arrive in their own vehicles.

Niurka Stadium

Home of FK Khadur, arguably Sajnur’s biggest football club, Niurka Stadium is located in the Khadur area of Ciarkhan, a bustling metropolis of 4.6 million people that serves as Laghia’s state capital. Laghia was a territory acquired by Sajnur in a war stretching from 1982 to 1996, and it is the Laghian people that popularised football in Sajnur. As a result, the province has eight of Sajnur’s 32 professional football clubs despite having only 1/8 of the country’s population, and Niurka Stadium hosts the other semi-final and some finals of Sajnur’s FA Cup.

The stadium, built in 2006, was named after Nicolae Niurka, who was a Laghian partisan that served as a general against Laghia’s pre-1982 rulers and was killed in combat in 1995, aged just 46. With a capacity of 73,000, it is the largest stadium used by a team in the Sajnuran Premier League. Like the National Stadium, it has a retractable roof, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and plenty of affordable food and drink options, with many food options being traditional to Laghia. The stadium is easily accessible by public transport, but parking space may be limited on particularly busy days.

Queen Haqla Stadium

Queen Haqla Stadium is a 60,000 seat stadium near the centre of Roskjepa, the capital of Delta state and, with 6.7 million people, the second largest in Sajnur. Home to Rivers FC, the stadium is a regular venue for intimidating displays from Rivers fans, with flares, aggressive chanting, and large banners being a common sight, especially in derbies between Rivers and cross-town rivals Stormers FC.

The stadium was built in 1960 and renovated in 2016, and has all the amenities of the National and Niurka stadiums, while being a prominent sight on the Jagaroi River. As such, along with bus and train, the stadium is also accessible by the Jagaroi River’s ferry. However, like in Ciarkhan, access by car may be difficult. Queen Haqla, for whom the stadium is named, reigned over Sajnur from 681 to her death in 727.

Siyaka Island Stadium

Siyaka Island Stadium is the largest stadium in the Asulian states, with 66,000 people able to fit within its confines. Located in the outskirts of Tawqush, a city of about 5.4 million serving as the capital of Archipelago state, the stadium is the home of FC Mazigh, the foremost football club in the Asulian states. Fans on Siyaka Island often bring instruments to matches, ranging from the arghul to large drums to even accordions, posing both as support to those they like and a distraction for those who they wish to lose.

The stadium is the newest of the four national stadiums, being built in 2017 on what was the Mujar port before it was bombed by the Sajnuran navy during a war that stretched from 1990-2003. The stadium is easily accessible by both car and public transport, and with the New Mujar port being built as part of the stadium development, coastal and island hopping ferries can also stop right outside the stadium.

Football isn't a big thing in Ranoria (well, this version anyway) and frankly no one is expecting a huge run from this team. However, after back-to-back winning World Cup qualifying stages, we know this team can compete on the world stage, even if not as one of the toughest squads in the competition.

Anyway, the most recognizable name here is Barry Chlorid. He's an NSCF championship winner with the Cold Hill Buffalo, served as Ranoria's world bowl kicker every year besides World Bowl 40, and helped that team win a title in World Bowl 42. He kicked four field goals in the Buffalo's NSCF XX victory over Northern Moravica, three against St. Kanye in that World Bowl title, and he's a seven time 1st team all pro in the RFL. He was actually a two time All Ranorian at Cold Hill as well in what Ranorians refer to as soccer, but he couldn't turn down the millions the RFL was offering. Anyway, here he is, a plus athlete with a god-gifted leg, hoping to help keep our Krauts from humiliating themselves on the world stage!

Otherwise, Rayko Grossman is probably the most technically proficient player here at midfielder, but his age is really starting to show and thus he's been regulated to a backup role. Expect quite a few guys on the back end of the midfielders chart to be getting minutes with his regression.

Meet the coaching staff!
HC: Mark Tilmann, who favors a just ever so slightly conservative to the game.
Assistant: Kevin Raeger, an aggressive youngster who's pretty good at communicating with his players
Assistant: Angela von Kuhn, sister to Tim and Wolfram von Kuhn, who compete at the professional level in baseball. She's got the size of her brothers, if not the athleticism, and is the eldest of the family by ten years. Retired soccer player herself

Barry Chlorid: Chlorid is a highly decorated gridiron kicker, but he only went to the fake football "dark side" in order to pay for school, and later to make the kind of money that he never could have touched otherwise. Regardless, he's here, and plans on also serving as Ranoria's World Bowl kicker once again next season, as the Baptism of Fire will allow him a bit more leeway to train. NSCF XX champ, World Bowl 42 champion, 7x all pro in the RFL, and he's been Ranoria's World Bowl kicker in all but one of the team's seasons. He was a two time all Ranorian in this sport in college and was a phenom in high school, despite playing two sports at both levels. Expect a fluid athlete. He doesn't quite have the experience of these other guys, as he plays gridiron domestically.

Felix Graf: Obviously larger for a soccer player, Graf is often asked why he's here, and not playing gridiron. He'd probably call you a meathead, but the guy has deceptive straight-line speed and obviously he's a physical presence on the field.

Rayko Grossman: An older player with an impressive resume, Grossman can be expected to sport solid fundamentals at any stage of the game, but he's absolutely lost a step in the last few years. One of the better players in Ranoria's brief and unimpressive history in the sport, but this is likely his last ride as his age has severely hampered his abilities.

Esther Simson: An agile and athletic player in the prime of his career, Simson's coming off his best years as a pro and attributes a lot of that to Rayko Grossman's tutelage. Simson's going to be making a lot of plays for this team in the middle - enjoy the show.

Chris Jenkins: Chris Jenkins has long been a high-ceiling guy and he's really done well domestically in between World Cups 89 and 90 - he looks ready to show his stuff coming into the 90th edition of this competition.

Kris Reinhardt: Reinhardt's the top dog on this defense and in the country. She showed up and was used only sparingly in World Cup 87, but really upped her game after seeing and playing against the best competition she could go against, and has been starting since World Cup 88.

Vincent Emilia: A solid goalkeeper for the Revolt, he's got a few all pros under his belt at this point. Expect as good of play from him as you can expect from a Ranorian. That said, he's got Karsten Leonore, an up and comer, breathing down his neck.

Licentian National Football Team

After a period of real turmoil for the Cyan-and-Gold, where Fabrizio Kaal stepped away from his role to leave a vacuum in the managerial position, things have gone surprisingly well. A run to the quarter finals of the Campionato in South Newlandia, where they were knocked out by twice-regional champions Nova Anglicana, showed that this young Licentian squad could adapt to the new tactical iedas brought by Galeano, the new manager. Now, with an increasingly young pool for the World Cup Qualifiers as experienced players step away from international duty, it’s time for the biggest test yet for Galeano.

Head Coach – Galeano Image
The Tamarindian-born man simply known as Galeano is one of the most highly rated managers in Astograth, where he has long been a naturalised citizen. After a long and successful playing career as a midfielder for the Army Club, Royal Rumiatzi, and the Astograthian national team, Galeano established himself as a master strategist, with a managerial style based on aggressive pressing, wide play, and big centre forwards. His last three years have been spent with Royal Rumiatzi, who he led to two straight league titles in his first two years in charge, before leaving the club after they failed to qualify for the IFCF. Now, the FALI have picked the acclaimed Astograthian to take over as the manager of the Licentian Isles: he will have a lot of work to do.

Captain – Caitlin Fraser
Vice-Captain – Flora Watson

Formation – 5-2-2-1 (Skill Modifier: -2):
This Campionato saw a major change in style for the Isles along with the big changes in personnel, as Galeano brings with him the style of play that brought him high amounts of success in Astograthian football. Expect to see an aggressive defensive style, with the attacking style heavily focussed on the wing-backs and wingers playing balls into a single centre forward. There’s also a move away from the traditional holding midfielder seen in Licentian football, replaced by a pair of central midfielders who will likely split on the park into holding and attacking roles, but aren’t designated as such.

Squad:

Name Age Club Nation
Caitlin Fraser 34 SC Montfort Image
Josh Gibson 25 Haligonian Image
Aimil MacGowan 20 Marketville Image
Ualraig Dow 19 Gaelic Club Image
Leland Wood 27 Montfort Wanderers Image

Once again, Caitlin Fraser steps into the breach as the leader of the goalkeeping corps, as well as the wider squad. Despite the change in manager, it seems that the gloves are Caitlin’s as long as she wants them, especially given the fact that she’s flourished again in the capital. Behind her, things are a little messier. Leland Wood lost a lot of the reputation he had amongst a rough year for the Wanderers, which has led to rumours he may have lost his starting role there, but for now he keeps a spot as one of the more experienced keepers in the pool, alongside Josh Gibson, who is rebuilding his own career in Quebec and Shingoryeo. The two youngsters that back them up are widely acclaimed, with Aimil MacGowan, plying her trade in Eura, already pegged as “the next Caitlin Fraser”, while Ualraig Dow is beginning to find his feet at Gaelic Club despite still being a teenager. Expect a lot of chopping and changing outside of the biggest matches.

Right Backs:

Name Age Club Nation
Sarah Maartens 26 St Thomas Image
George Turnbull 22 Stonehouse Athletic Image
Lea Koster 24 St Bart's Dutch Image
Angaidh MacLeay 21 Newton Arran Image

Cam Spijker’s international retirement may have opened up the spot to a group of young players, but Sarah Maartens is most likely the favourite to wear the number 2 for the Isles. The St Thomas full back adapted well to the more attacking role expected of her at international level during the Campionato. Behind her, Stonehouse’s George Turnbull is very much a star of the future: expect to see plenty of him during the campaign. There was much debate about the final two who deserved selection to the pool at right back. Lea Koster had a good year as she started regularly for the first time at St Bart’s this year, but some have questioned if she’s too old to begin an international career. Angaidh MacLeay, one of three young players from Newton Arran in the pool, was a surprise call up from a club more known for their exciting wingers.

Centre Backs:

Name Age Club Nation
Flora Watson 31 St Thomas Image
Lucia Allan 29 Abingdon Celtic Image
Arwen van As 21 Couno Rangers Image
Jasmin Russell 23 Shieldhill Image
Tim Bijvank 22 Glenmount Town Image
Toby Ferguson 24 Bul Khungur Miners Image
Sven van der Meulen 20 SC Montfort Image

Five of the seven centre halves selected in Galeano’s pool for World Cup Qualifying are no surprise, having travelled with the Cyan-and-Gold to South Newlandia. Two of the few older players left in this squad, Flora Watson and Lucia Allan, are certain to start in the big games for the Isles, and Arwen van As’ move away from Garton Bay to Tumbra seems to have helped her claim that third spot at the back, at least for now. Jasmin Russell and Tim Bijvank, both called up for the first time at the Campionato, retain their places in this seven player group. They’re joined by a returning Toby Ferguson, who has impressed since his move to Tikariot, and Sven van der Meulen, the young SC centre back who has played a big role in their improving defence with his towering frame.

Left Backs:

Name Age Club Nation
Seren Thomson 23 Couno Rangers Image
Ayden Evers 22 Abingdon Celtic Image
Maria Reilly 23 Blackheath Image
Oliver Buchan 23 St Bart's Dutch Image

At left back, Rowan Findlay is still left out after a rough year for Montfort Wanderers. That means it’s a young group that travel at this position, but still one with some decent international experience. Seren Thomson is the second player from Couno called up, joining her defensive colleague van As, while her replacement at Celtic, Ayden Evers, made a worthy understudy at the CE. Maria Reilly, once considered the next big thing at left back, returns to the squad after a decent length of absence for a 23 year old, while there’s a first call up for Oliver Buchan, another full back who has broken through for St Bart’s Dutch in recent years.

Centre Midfielders:

Name Age Club Nation
Arthur Mazereeuw 22 St Thomas Image
Saul van Duuren 24 Waterfleet Image
Arlo McGregor 25 Sanford Falls PREMIER Image
Fiadh Buchan 21 Coret Hawks Image
Thomas Hughes 22 Montfort Wanderers Image
Daniel Godijn 22 Blackheath Image
Fearghas Blair 21 Abingdon Celtic Image

Is Arlo McGregor dropping down the depth chart because he had a difficult and temperamental year in the capital? That’s possible. Is he dropping down the depth chart because of his strange move to a small and unheralded footballing nation, seemingly for a large paycheque? That is also possible. Whatever the reason, one of the stars of previous campaigns seems likely to miss out on big games, with the beneficiary being Arthur Mazereeuw, part of St Thomas’ formidable midfield. Saul van Duuren and Fiadh Buchan will likely share the more defensive role, though Buchan’s stock continues to rise after her move to Nephara. Behind them, Thomas Hughes gets a call once again, as he is expected to slip into the space left by McGregor for the Wanderers, as does Daniel Godijn, coming off a good year with the Stags to earn a back-up place for the more defensive role. Fearghas Blair, who has impressed alongside Eliza Tyler at Celtic, gets his first call up to round out the midfield.

Right Wingers:

Name Age Club Nation
Mitch Louws 22 La Nueva Avenida Image
Casey McMillan 23 St Thomas Image
Anna MacDonald 25 Glenmount Town Image
Madadh Kerr 19 Newton Arran Image

Mitch Louws and Casey McMillan continue a trend of “player who left a big club and their replacement are both in the national team” on the left hand side for the Isles. Mitch Louws impressed long before his move to Farfadillis, but there’s probably very little argument that a player plying his trade in the S-FPL should be considered one of the best in the team. McMillan, long of AFC Farnworth, replaced Louws for the champions, and has showed her ability there enough to retain her place. A recovery in fortune for Glenmount Town coincides with a first call-up for Anna MacDonald, the oldest of the uncapped players in the pool at 25. At the other end of the spectrum, Madadh Kerr is the youngest player in the pool; the Riversiders winnger clearly impressed enough in his first season in the Premier League to catch Galeano’s eye.

Left Wingers:

Name Age Club Nation
Scarlet McKenzie 23 Mountainside Image
Phoebe Hellemons 21 Montreal Koreana Image
Theodore Harper 20 St Thomas Image
Lucas Doyle 21 Newton Arran Image

With the high amount of talent on the right wing, it’s perhaps surprising that the left is a little weaker. That isn’t an indictment of those most likely to start in the big games. Scarlet McKenzie has gone from the Abingdon Parish Senior League to a solid career in Eura, and there’s no doubt that she is a good shout for a place in this squad for many years to come. Phoebe Hellemons has a slightly different career path, going from Rovers’ relegation to Montreal Koreana, but despite the Quebecois club’s antics at the end of last season she’s still in the hunt on the left wing. Behind them is where the lack of depth starts to show. Theodore Harper is undoubtedly talented, but has yet to break through with the Saints since his move from Broadwood, and Lucas Doyle is good, but has fewer acclaims than his opposite number Madadh Kerr.

Centre Forwards:

Name Age Club Nation
Anne-Linde van Oers 24 1896 Ebor Image
Silke van der Linden 24 Stonehouse Athletic Image
Will Wood 22 Blackheath Image
Lucas Russell 23 Hesham FC Image
Isaac Thielen 23 TSV Marzig Image

There’s no real doubt who will start up front for the Isles in big games. Anne-Linde van Oers has sky-rocketed to prominence since her move to Mytanija, becoming a highly rated striker in that historic footballing nation. Her goal-scoring talents will be much needed. She’s joined by two other players based abroad, and two from the LPL. To start with the latter, Silke van der Linden returns to the squad off the back of winning the Golden Boot award at the end of last season, and Will Wood, continually impressive for Blackheath, keeps a spot in the pool. Lucas Russell, much like Phoebe Hellemons, has impressed since leaving Colesham, winning Young Player of the Year honours in Tumbra, so it’s somewhat of a no brainer to hand him a call-up. Isaac Thielen will take the final spot: another player rebuilding his career away from Gaelic Club, the early parts of his career at TSV Marzig have clearly impressed Galeano.

Home Stadiums:
The FALI (Football Association of the Licentian Isles) have decided that multiple stadiums will be used to host Licentian international games in the future. One stadium from each parish has been selected to host games, and they are all the most equipped in their area. However, most Licentian stadiums equipped for international matches have some areas of terracing or standing areas, some of which may be allocated to travelling supporters. If you are interested in the specific allocation your nation will receive, and the seated-standing split, please contact the FALI (OOC - me, by TG or Discord).

LTI Stadium:
Location - Montfort, Montfort Parish
Capacity - 75,000 (all seated)
Home Side - Montfort Wanderers, traditional home of the Licentian Isles National Football Team
Hosting – Pasarga (MD4)

The LTI Stadium is the biggest stadium in the Licentian Isles, and one of the few all-seaters in the nation. Originally named for Grand Duke Luke Thomas I, the royal link has been somewhat played down since the end of the monarchy in the Isles, leading to its almost official status as “the LTI”. This large bowl like stadium is designed for football and rugby, with a state-of-the-art PA system allowing fans to hear the referee’s microphone over the tannoys. The system was initially designed for rugby matches, but has now been adopted by football as well.

Gardiner-Stewart Stadium:
Location - Abingdon, Abingdon Parish
Capacity - 62,000 (48,000 seated)
Home Side - Abingdon Celtic
Hosting – Saltstead (MD8), Poafmersia (MD10)

If you want to watch a game with the rowdiest fans in the Isles, go to Abingdon. While it’s the Coliseum of the Gaels that’s most known for casual activity, the Gardiner-Stewart Stadium, in the city’s West End, comes alive when the national team comes to the second city. Named for legendary Celtic and Cyan-and-Gold keeper Alex Gardiner-Stewart after his apparent death early in his career, this large but old fashioned stadium will likely charm football hipsters, while upsetting fans used to highest-class luxuries at a football ground.

St Bart’s Oval:
Location - St Bart’s, St Bart’s Parish
Capacity - 50,500 (24,000 seated)
Home Team - St Bart’s United
Hosting – Havynwilde (MD2), Treekidistan (MD6)

This is probably the strangest stadium in the Isles. As the name suggests, the Oval was originally built as a cricket stadium, and still sees some use for that purpose. However, nowadays it’s most well known as a football ground, despite still looking more like its original purpose. The grassy banks and small stands that surround the pitch are where most will sit or stand when watching a match here, though some temporary stands are built on the cricket outfield during the football season to ensure that not all fans are seated a large distance from the action.

Barton Software Arena:
Location - Colesham, Colesham Parish
Capacity - 47,000 capacity (42,000 seated)
Home Team - Colesham Athletic
Hosting – Atlantic Republic (MD12), Ardengard (MD14)

The Barton Software Arena is named for the city’s most prominent business, and is almost painfully corporate. This large dome of a stadium is incredibly well appointed, to the point that fans of other teams often mock it for being “soulless”. Nonetheless, this is by far the largest stadium in the nation’s smallest parish, so the national team will regularly visit. Here, the standing sections can be converted into seating where necessary, and the hospitality boxes are incredibly plush.

For details on how to get to the Licentian Isles, how to get around once you are here, general enquiries about the parish your team will be hosted in, or facilities at each ground, please contact the FALI (OOC - again, me, by TG or Discord).

Visitors to the Licentian Isles for international matches should note that there are a growing number of football hooligans, known on the Isles as “casuals”, who are always liable to cause disruption and possibly attack fans travelling to the Licentian Isles. Travelling supporters are advised to wear team colours wherever possible (as casuals will not attack fans wearing colours without provocation), and avoid areas of the Isles populated by violent casual groups, along with trying to avoid these groups at matches. Most casual groups will be easily identifiable by banners they carry or songs they sing. Groups to avoid (with associated club and parish) include:

Jolly Roger (Garton Bay Pirates, Montfort Parish)
Capital City Squad (Montfort North End, Montfort Parish)
Real Celts (Gaelic Club, Abingdon Parish)
Colliery Casual Crew (Colesham Rovers, Colesham Parish)
Island Riot Squad (St Bart’s United, St Bart’s Parish)
Licentian Border Squad (St Thomas, St Bart’s Parish)

Nations should also note that some casual or ultra groups may travel in force with the Licentian national team for international matches outside the Isles. Not all are violent, but most will carry flares and large banners, and make use of them to build up the atmosphere during a match. If your nation bans this kind of behaviour, please make the FALI aware so that we can warn fans travelling to your nation in advance.

For any more information on Licentian casuals, please contact the FALI (OOC – discuss by TG or Discord).

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Preferred starting lineup: check my most recent RP: if nothing is listed for your match, then you are welcome to select a lineup, with the caveat that those listed highest at each position are most likely to play, and the central midfield will pair a defensive player (van Duuren/Buchan/Godijn) with an attacking player (Mazereeuw/McGregor/Hughes/Blair)
Preferred Goalscorers: no preference
Godmod scoring events: No
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but I decide severity and how long they will be out for
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Discuss by TG/Discord
Godmod other events: Discuss by TG/Discord

Fair play and respect are important to Licentian players, and they should not be depicted as going outside the bounds of normal behaviour during a match without prior permission. I will also not tolerate the introduction of any virus or other world-changing event to the Isles without prior permission. If you have another idea that you would like to RP I am happy to collaborate: hopefully it’s clear where to go by now.

Player ages are correct as of the first matchday.

Building on the extremely successful results of World Cup 89, Kaya Michiyu returns to the centre of the stage of Kandorese football as the manager and has changed only miniscule details of the squad. The Kandorese squad will once again play their aggressive midfield football and look to outpace and outflank the opponent. The name of the game for the Golden Dragons is absorbing the opponents' play, attacks and attempts to break through and strike back with merciless counter-football.

The midfield players are the main engine of the team. They are very capable of moving the ball forward and also scoring goals when they have to. Beyond the midfield are three forwards who mostly play in free positions, looking for any advantage or to get the ball moving again. Kandorith plays with two pacey wingers and a main striker who acts more like a false nine. When it comes to defense, the Kandorese team is more cautious and will let the opponent play their game until they make a mistake or indeed become a danger to the goalkeeper. They will do their very best to tyre the opponent and keep the pace of the game as much as possible until the Kandorese are back in possession. There are no real set positions, but they play a very adaptive 4-3-3, which can also turn into a 5-3-2, full defensive or even an all-out attack because of the diversity of the midfield players. The Kandorese attack is one of high-risk, high-reward as mostly only three men stay behind when attacking, and they trust their midfield to be quick enough and make the switch when the defence is needed again.

The defensive line is also a high-line, with the goal of trapping the opponent in offside positions and constant pressure on the opposing team. When able to get past one player in the Kandorese defense, the next player will already be taking over their position, even when they are a midfielder, to try and thwart the attack. The team employs a "total football" style of play and has an unbreakable spirit to never give up, even if they are down 0–3 and beyond.

The Empress Masumi National Stadium, named after the reigning Empress, is the Kandorese National Team's home stadium. The modern stadium is intended as a multi-purpose sports complex with the potential to adjust the configuration of the arena for nearly any event. When the stadium is not in use for sports, the enormous complex is transformed into a venue for concerts, big events, and even traditional markets. The stadium is home to FC Tenkyo, a Kandorese first division team and one of the country's "big four" teams. The stadium is a symbol of a new age for the Kandorese country and its people, with a total capacity of 90,000 spectators during football fixtures.
