Russian military and political influence outside of Belarus and Eastern Ukraine is dead in the water and no one really takes them seriously for good reason. This is at best a bluff, and one not even the stupidest Western heads of state will even come close to falling for for any number of reasons, not the least of which is because it would be geopolitical suicide.

I don’t think that this will be strictly related to worsening of relationships with NATO. My point was about Putin and his cohort making it harder for Russians to escape this land

Russian military and political influence outside of Belarus and Eastern Ukraine is dead in the water and no one really takes them seriously for good reason. This is at best a bluff, and one not even the stupidest Western heads of state will even come close to falling for for any number of reasons, not the least of which is because it would be geopolitical suicide.

But Russian citizens will take it seriously. Whenever our government does something absurd we get sanctioned to hell and become even more poor economically, and to make up for material losses they’ll increase taxation even more.
