YL reacts to the AL's quote REBOOT

Postby Surrealist Patagonia » Thu Dec 02, 2021 8:25 am

There was a thread similar to this before it was swept under the rug due to inactivity and it's high time to revive the concept. The idea sounds self-explanatory and obviously, double-posting isn't allowed. Also, the quote provided by the leader could come in the form of a single quote or perhaps a dialogue between characters with a context provided.

~ Konrad "Caligula" Svoboda, Le Patron of the Most Surreal Confederation of Patagonia

"On the contrary, I do not feel a sense of dread when there are those who oppose me and try to thwart my plans at every turn, especially through the bombs and lead. In fact, I have a twisted sense of respect for them for this society of mine only rewards the RADICALS and those who dare to REBEL! Let us see whose ideals will win in the end."

The Avant-Gardist State of Patagonia ~~~ Gauchos and Mapuches, orgies and parties, avant-garde art, futurism, syndicalism, the New Man, general strikes, the glorification of violence, spiritual nationalism, esoteric occultism, CIA spooks, Spartanian homosexuality, public sodomy, and more

  • There are many things said about Patagonia but few actually know what goes on behind the Andes mountains. Tales of human depravation and man's inner darkest self run wild. A place where avant-garde culture flourish and the artist don't fear the censor. Where all live bold and free under the gaze of the Patron. Yet all dreams will come to an end soon...

"Aha Yes! This is a man and philosophy I can support. Ideology and ideas can only thrive in the fields of battle, not in the classrooms and debate halls. Men cannot truly be free thinkers when their ideology is tested by liberal college students with nothing better to do or conservatives who blindly support their own government - NO! Ideas need to be field-tested. And if one wins out over the other then to the victor go the spoils!"
- Presidente Enzo Hermandez

"Seeing how the holiday season is near, I feel like I must say some things about giving. We, as humans, supposedly like taking more than giving. This is, in my opinion, not true except for certain people. Maybe for the material things of this world, we do not necessarily like giving: Money, Gifts, etc. But that is not the only form of giving. Is it not giving when a person gives emotional support? Physical support? Martial support? We want to give to people, whether it be for our own gain or for altruistic purposes, the issue is we - especially those in the west - view giving as purely monetary in a world where everyone is monetarily unstable. So I say, we should all give more than we take this year, even in supposedly 'unorthodox' ways."

"Imagine... Imagine waking up, okay? And then... You just are. You just exist. No memories, no recollection of how you got there. Then all you can see is these white walls, padded walls... And then there's people walking in the hallway outside, and they can see and hear you... But they chose to ignore you, your questions... Your mere existence... That's all I remember, I don't want anyone to go through that, so that's why I do what I do. "Kako, with all due respect, are you sure you were not brainwashed back then? Clearly, the fact you had no memories of any sorts, that you were locked into one of those types of rooms, where those who are supposed to watch over you just don't give a shit about you... Clearly, doesn't that sound a bit odd? Clearly, if they wanted you to be well, they would've surely at least asked you how you were doing, right? But alas, they did not. Why would they, if they were trying to brainwash you? Why would they? It would be a waste of time and effort to try and take care of their victim while she was helplessly brainwashed, wouldn't it be?" - Yunru

"Dimissing that... I can see why you'd want to make everyone smile. After all, why not seek out what you lacked back then? Although, it would not be fair if I did not give back, would it? Keep going on. In fact, let me tell you one thing: that it will all pay off eventually. Maybe sooner than later in your case." - Anatoly

"They say that the definition of insanity is to do the same things over and over again, expecting different results every time. Those who said that also happened to be the ones who lost the wars, once against the Soviet Union, and again against the deranged snake of a brainwasher that is Yuri. Therefore, shouldn't the definition of insanity be to try and be reasonable with someone who does not want to be reasonable at all? For example, the Allies and the Soviets not going far enough in their efforts against the brainwasher." - Yunru, in one of her classic tirades.

With a burst of laughter which ranged from derangement to refined masculinity,

"If that is your definition of insanity then the Chileans and Americans who have bankrolled me and my regime in the hopes of moderating my course are indeed insane. If only there are those who share your definition of insanity."
~ Konrad "Caligula" Svoboda, Le Patron of the Most Surreal Confederation of Patagonia

It was a dark Sammarinese night when Konrad dressed in a white suit and a young Sammarinese magister in black lounged in a castle's bedroom where the warm oil lamp light shone through the darkness of the night. The two men's eyes were locked against each other as they sat on a white canopy bed.

"What I truly desire is a "God's Kingdom". A kingdom of free men above such things as laws, rules, authority, churches, and morals which only dictates and restricts man from achieving their true potential. It is saddening that man willingly restrict themselves and submit to a higher authority. Not realizing that without them, authority ceases to exist."
~ Konrad "Caligula" Svoboda, Le Patron of the Most Surreal Confederation of Patagonia

"But would not that enable man's worst instincts and cruelty to surface without laws and religion in place?"
~ Antonio Marco Borgiam, Magister in the University of San Marino

*Tilts his wine glass around*
"Man is bestowed with strength and firm adherence to the ideals that they follow. If "good" men had those two to begin with then they are perfectly capable of fighting against those who do evil. What this ideal Kingdom without borders would be like isn't like a bar where patrons brawl to settle differences but a university where one engages in dialectical thinking to reach an understanding. It is within a structured state that this kind of discussion is restricted within certain realms."

"And what is the connection with God in this Kingdom?"

"Because simply, we are sleeping Gods. Man has been so consumed by the religious opium that they willingly believe in such things like "destinies" and "fate" that they could not realize they can carve their own meaning and enact change with their own sheer will without a God. It has been centuries and man thinks that they can't live without a deity to watch over them."

"Konrad... Within you, I see a white angel. A messiah to free the shackles of man. I will follow you and enact your will."

"Don't be ridiculous, Marco. Do you have such a low opinion of yourself to think of me in that way? For man should not base their entire existence around another man. They must fight for their own ideals, not the ideals of others or the state. But your time to shine will come if I were to fail in undertaking my greatest ambition."

Took place in August 1975 in San Marino, a month before Antonio Marco took power as Captain-Regent of the microstate and a year before Konrad's fateful Leningrad assault in the hopes of achieving "Perfect Death"

Reaction to Svoboda and Marco's conversation
That's intriguing. Disturbing, yet so very intriguing. While I don't agree with the idea that most people have their own ideals and aren't just automata who follow the cultural Zeitgeist, or the idea that abolishing authority would lead to mass apotheosis and not merely the formation of more primitive authorities in the form of warlords, I believe I can synthesize something useful from this, something useful to my people.

Namely, the plutocratic oligarchs of the Empire - their only power is soft power. They command the police forces of the urban worlds and the brass elite of the armed forces, entirely through laws and finances. They think paper is power, which is true only because the people still believe in paper as power. Should something arise to disillusion the people of that belief, the elites' control will melt away.
-- Marc Adlerówič Basileiów, Čancellar Ciarstuos Mehurdiasi

War, depending on whom you ask, is either a sports game with guns and murder, or the continuation of politics like calculus is the continuation of algebra. The truth, naturally, is somewhere between the two.

It's an interesting interpretation for a such activity that caused many catastrophic destruction, but we must not underestimate its danger. The underestimation brings overconfident, and then destruction.

You see, there's a simple way to look at gun ownership: The people who owns it wants to keep it, while the people who don't have wants to reduce it. It is a simple task to reduce the discontent from the second group: Lower the gun price and make the public antagonize the reasons that against such right all by themselves. Remember this: our country is a country full of centrists who cares only few things they can see in their lives, to make centrists support you, you must make them to share some common ground with you.

Now that is some food for thought. We see animal behaviour that clearly shows great intelligence. Who knows what the next species to develop a true civilization will be? My bet would be parrots and octopi ruling over the land and sea respectively. But in my opinion, this quote should also be approached not from the standpoint of extinction, but transhumanism. With enough modification, will there come a time that we can no longer be called "human race"? It might. However, I think it does not really matter. This view that being "human" is so important is so anthropocentric. We're not that special. We're just a result of a particularly succesful chain of tiny random genetic mutations that was lucky enough to be the first to achieve a civilization. Yes, we are so far the only species that got this "far", but what about innovation? If we just stuck with what "worked" already, we would still be living in caves, for fuck's sake! If we need to abandon the "human" classification to progress towards something better, then so be it... Genetically, I myself am technically not human. I gave that classification away, and recieved a regenerative ability that also prevents aging and acknowledges my extra, originally implanted, organs... Now that's what I call a great trade. Now, some will say that being "human" is a mental thing, rather than a purely biological one. That might be true. Those of you are reasonable. I was talking to those against people modifying themselves genetically or cybernetically.

"I agree, many practices considered traditional simply have no place in society anymore but are unfortunately still practiced. However, forcing progress down the throat of others is also not the right thing to do. Of course, the government must promote progress in most areas, but not at the expense of people's lives. Progress should bring stability, not be the cause of anarchy - remember, civilization cannot thrive and evolve without a stable state."

Kai Tsofan: Absolutely. In Tsaotak or Sherechian Folk Religion, we believe in energy and cosmic harmony. "A curious, yet not entirely idiotic belief... it is technically true, but the same chaos can wreak havoc, say, if a bank robber is being pursued by the police through that very street... sometimes people just don't care, no matter how important it is that they do."

"The proof to deny any foolish theorist's "cOnSpIrAcY" is the fact that such a person even exists: if the government, or Big Pencil Lead or whatever is poisoning the water, putting chips in medicine, or hiding the shape of the earth and has been ruling the earth with Mlon Eusk or whoever for 5000 years, why can't they pay a hitman 5 grand to bonk those braindeads over the head with a bowling ball?"

"Uhrm... With all due respect and whatever, what in Hylia's name are you talking about?! First of all, government is like, a couple of people at most from where I come from! Me, and Avavu of course in tow basically are the only two people who really has a say in our tribe's affairs, and it's been that way for centuries! Hyrule isn't any different, in fact with three different people having some power in their affairs, Zelda and that Guard-Commander and Knight-General of which we have heard... Well, little about, that's been the most shared rule Hyrule's had that I can ever remember!

A chip? How could you put something that's usually at least longer than a pin in medicine without someone noticing? Trust me, if I drunk a potion made out of that Chu jelly and found something of that size in it, you know I'd notice. And the shape of our realm is pretty clear! It just loops around, even when you don't think it would, and pretty much everybody except people that might be living without contact or something knows that!
And trust me... Whoever this "Mlon Eusk" is and if he's trying to control land, people would notice! Especially so if they went around killing people with a ball, like you say.

Honestly, if there's people that are talking like that, it's probably best to leave them to it! I mean, if they are that delusional in the first place, then you probably can't talk them out of it... I know what it's like to talk to a stubborn person, and trust me. It can be quite difficult sometimes!"

"Alright, you lunatic... I do not know how exactly you had managed to even wander into Faron Woods and come out alive considering how raving mad you appear to be, but to return to Hyrule and make it you sole mission to head straight into these barracks, and ignore literally every guard that tried to stop you in order to approach me, and claim this obviously false truth is both surprising and... Absolute insanity.

If you even encountered this creature you describe, a lizard like thing longer than a tree log and with wings the size of a room, you would realise that you had fallen victim to an attempt on your life by a Kargarok if you was not so bonkers! You did not encounter a bloody Aerolfos, those things are myths and legends made to scare children into staying indoors. You took those stories way too literally.
And no, the Hyrulean Army has no interest in hunting down a Kargarok stuck deep within Faron Woods, especially so when the claim of it's existence comes from such a strange and unbelievable source. Now, please leave. Hylia only knows how you managed to get past all the guards with spears, but if you return I plan for one of those spears to go through your stomach. It is not often one gets a chance to leave unscathed from a restricted area when unauthorized to enter, so do not test your luck..."

Inogo Estima: I wish that was true and it is true for your nation. The reason why a lot of other countries haven't followed into your road to prosperity is that your system really is a high-risk high-reward system. Let me explain. Your country is lucky to have you and a bunch of benevolent, competent people in charge. Many other countries are forced to choose between the least of the worse and have plenty of corrupt greedy bastards in the system. I can see such an attempt turn into a despotic dictatorship or oligarchy very quickly if done incorrectly.

Also I've seen my own religion before so I want to keep it. No one is going to force me to be an atheist when they literally gave me my powers.

Atkhal Daishin:Here's a thought experiment. Congestion charges. Telling people to pay up if they want to drive to the city center during rush hour. Studies have shown that this improves the quality of life in every aspect, less traffic, less pollution, more safety. Great, let's implement it. Now the poor are crammed into public transport while the rich cruise down the empty streets in their Mercedes or Rolls.

I think it's a good idea to put competent people in charge but when these people are dictating how others live, others should have a say in how things run so that a compromise can be reached. Am I the only one thinking of a progressive congestion tax? Oh dear Elon gonna pay up 100,000 USD just to drive his tesla to the city center.

Inogo Estima:So someone asked, why Sherechians ride animals which are uncomfortable and dangerous despite cars existing?

First reason is economics. Fuel is expensive in Sherechia and shortages regularly happen. Even without the sanctions, getting fuel into Sherechia is pretty damn difficult since were completely surrounded by mountains and the nearest reserve is literally a thousand Km away. We're forced to use a type of locally made biodiesel that while environmentally safe is pretty darn inefficient. At this point saddling up some animal is cheaper. Grass is free, most mounts cost as much as a cheap motorcycle and many get them for free via taming feral ones and a good saddle costs as much as a mid-spec laptop. Negligible considering it's going to last a decade or two.

Second is because it's fun. I've ridden the gallop before and it's quite addictive, like the wind in your face, the rocking of the saddle, and the sound of hooves striking grass. It's also good for you if you don't fall off, you wonder why Sherechians rarely suffer from diseases and have better balance and flexibility than most other people and lastly you're never alone when you ride, having an animal companion with you on a long journey is much better than walking alone. The whole process is surprisingly meditative. Now you know why I don't become a depressive PTSD wreck despite seeing all that shit during the civil war.
Highly democratic and freedom-loving population, what if Mongolia and Japan had a child who also has an Indian driving instructor, increasing tensions between Market Socialists and Maoists, eats the aeugh fish, pets the aeugh fish, Aruday metro train doors have a tendency to amputate riders

"Ok, i think those are two good reasons to ride animals. Too bad that we can't use those excuses, but i can try to make new excuses"

"Sometimes i wake up asking myself is the Imperium is worth continuing to exist, until i see all those kids playing in the streets and the parks, then i answer myself, again, 'yes, the Imperium deserves to exist, so, get a bath and go to work you lazy person', and that answer make me happy"

"I think it is very good for a nation's leader to be confident that their nation is justified. Granted that you don't see many leaders who aren't. Your nation in particular is something you can be proud of, if it's that tall and grand. No one should lead a nation without confidence that its existence is good and just. Even if a nation is on the wrong path, it's important for a leader to not lose faith in the nation, losing faith in the path will do."

-John G. Germaine

"Here's an interesting fact I remember from secondary school. Actually, I wrote a paper on it. We all did, and my first paper only got a B so I had to redo it... teachers in this country are overzealous. Did you know that human technology hasn't actually gotten that much more advanced in centuries? It's true that primitive offshoot civilizations like our own went through technological buildup, but the human race as a whole hasn't really gotten more advanced since the year 2200 AD. When a civilization develops AI capable of designing progressively more powerful hardware for itself, its technological development is very nearly complete. Eventually, you come up to a wall, where the laws of physics just can't be exploited in any more ways. Sure, a new gadget comes out every now and then, but they hardly change the technological landscape of the entire species. This disappoints a lot of people - many folks were really hoping there'd be energy shields and warp drives and other cool gadgets from science fiction, but reality slams the door shut on them. We might be able to advance further, if we had better computers, but the only way we can do that is by going bigger.

Turning, let's say, the surface of a moon into a computer complex is just too big of an investment though. It's hardly worth the decades, maybe centuries it would take just to build the means of production required to do something so vast. We don't even have a reason to believe we'd get anything useful out of it! And considering humanity's four greatest nations, plus ourselves (I would not really count us as "great") are too busy building weapons for the war, the industrial effort is needed elsewhere. It's not as if the war will end soon, either, we're on the defensive and the others are very insistent on winning. I don't know why they continue such a pointless stalemate, maybe they just want to pump taxpayer dollars into the hands of arms dealers. So I think it's safe to say that human technology will be almost the same in 300 years."
