THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF TUMBRA
cordially welcomes you

LOCATED in central Esportiva, the Federal Republic of Tumbra is a sprawling, modern democratic republic of a hundred and fourteen million people. Comprising twenty-five states, the Under-18 World Cup will be played in fourteen stadiums spread across ten states; allocated as such to minimise the need for travel time. A full map of the country can be found here.

Airports, Getting To and Travelling Within Tumbra

The tournament will be played along the southern coast of the country, with climate there expected to be warmer, owing to the warm ocean currents of the South Tumbra Sea, and the summer weather. Yet, temperatures during the tournament are expected to reach only a high of a breezy 25 degrees Celsius, and warm rains are not out of the possibility, either. The sparkling, white-sanded beaches of the south coast also offer a dazzling tourist spot if you wish to just relax.

Getting to Tumbra would usually entail taking a plane from an airport; the best airports to land at would be Lakewood International Airport, Kingsbury John Powell International Airport and the Bencoolen Airport, all of which can handle international flights and are closest to the venues your teams will be playing in. To get to destinations not provided by airport, high-speed rail that travels up to about 320km/h along the southern coast offers transport to all thirteen cities hosting a match, ensuring comfort, speed and reliability to get your players to their matches on time. Within cities, most cities have at least some form of mass rapid transit or light rail that forms the basis of their transport system.

Should you still wish to travel by car, Tumbra uses left-hand drive, and verifiable international licenses are a prerequisite to hire a car. Expressways to each of the major cities do exist, though...trains also exist...and are faster...

IF your nation comes from Esportiva, Tumbra can be reached within four to six hours' flight; if it comes from the regions of Anaia, Atlantian Oceania or Rushmore, then Tumbra can be reached from anywhere from six to twelve hours' flight; and for countries from outside that area, then flights to Tumbra will take twelve hours or more.

All visitors with a valid ticket will be given a visa; for those attending multiple matches, the visa will be extended accordingly. Tickets will be apportioned fairly; 40% to each team, and 10% will be sold to Tumbrans, with the remaining 10% to others. Ticket scalping is, of course, illegal; should one come across such an act of ticket scalping, then call 999 (the number for the Police in Tumbra).

Culture and Laws
The policing in each state is run by the state governments, though they are all run to a unified federal code, which standardises most equipment and techniques. Federal laws will apply here; some of the more important ones are...

  • The age to buy alcohol and tobacco is set at 18 years.
  • The age of consent is 18 years. Prostitution is legal.
  • The status of marijuana, confusingly for Tumbra, is vague and depends on the state; in Clearmont, Dartmoor, Georgia, Thornton, Lormark and Fremont it is illegal for recreational use; but in Severn, Alexandria and Bencoolen it is legal. The usage of medical marijuana is legalised throughout all states.
  • The importation of alcohol and tobacco is illegal without declaration; and there are strict limits on the amount. Importation of marijuana is illegal; the same goes for other hard drugs.
  • There is a blanket ban on assault weapons in Tumbra, and no importation is allowed.

The currency of Tumbra is the Tumbran Dollar, with the exchange rate being set at 1 NSD to 1.33 TMD. There is a ten per cent consumption tax on all items; usually it is factored into the price of the item.

Should there be any other questions, please contact VisitTumbra.com.

Host Cities And Stadiums

With seven groups, each group will be allocated two stadiums in close vicinity to each other; to minimise the travel time needed. The first listed match of each cutoff will take place at the first listed stadium, while the second match will take place in the second listed stadium.

GROUP A

Cities: Lakewood

Lakewood is well-known for being a football-crazy city; the city can essentially be split into a red zone and a blue zone, pledging allegiances to either big football team. It got its start in the 1800s by being home to the (admittedly belated) industrialisation of Tumbra, with cotton and textiles being the main good being produced here. Make sure to visit the Squornshelan ekranoplane that sits abandoned in the harbour; a monument to the former Imperium which adds a certain something to the atmosphere of the city. We're not sure what, and nobody else seems to know either, given that nobody knows what to do with it.

TRENTON PARK, LAKEWOOD, SEVERN
Capacity: 74,500

Hosting the Final of the competition, Trenton Park is home to Lakewood United, historically the most successful team in Tumbra. A massive colosseum, its differently shaped ends do make it look a bit dated, but gives it a lot of its charm. The acoustics here are also excellent, adding to the atmosphere here at Trenton Park.

LAKEWOOD CITY ARENA, LAKEWOOD, SEVERN
Capacity: 58,000

Home to Lakewood United's rivals Lakewood City, the LCA was a more modern construction; only being completed in 2005. It, therefore, looks nicer than Trenton Park; but the diatribes launched against it say that it's a soulless atmosphere. Supports of City point to their attendance records and recent success. It is equipped with all the comforts of a modern stadium; and will host the third-placed playoff.

GROUP B

Cities: Clyde, Hesham

The two big cities of Clearmont get the nod to host the matches of this group; but they couldn't be any more different. Clyde is a small city that rose to prominence through carving out a niche in the form of sheep; Tumbra's largest sheep shearing station is located here. Hesham, the capital of Clearmont, is a large metropolis on its way to achieving global status; a market town that launched itself into the Industrial Revolution, before branching out into finance.

GEORGE BOWEN STADIUM, HESHAM, CLEARMONT
Capacity: 40,000

Named after Hesham FC's longest-serving captain and later manager, the Ploughmen's arena with its distinctive bright green seats is a more rectangular effort. Distinctive for its bright green pylons that run along the outside of the stadium, it's a bit denser than most stadiums - only having one tier throughout it.

CLYDE PARK, CLYDE, CLEARMONT
Capacity: 38,500

Clyde Park Stadium is located within Clyde's central park, also called Clyde Park. Still with me? The football club that plays here is also called Clyde Park. The stadium itself is largely unremarkable outside of its claret and blue seats; four disconnected stands being one of the rarities in Tumbran stadium architecture.

GROUP C

Cities: Tavistock, Kelder

The cities of Dartmoor will play host to Group C; Tavistock being home to one of Tumbran football's most vicious - if underreported - rivalries, between Tavistock Athletic and Tavistock Park, while Kelder, a more artsy, folksy city in the southern reaches of the state, is home to the uniquely-named Kelder Phoenixes. Largely known for its large moors and chemical industries, the state as a whole tends to fly under the radar.

QUINWELL PARK, TAVISTOCK, DARTMOOR
Capacity: 41,000

Home to the Teddy Bears of Tavistock Athletic, Quinwell was engaged in a somewhat brutal war with the neighbouring Parkhead Stadium for the rights to host Tavistock's games; and somehow, despite a smaller capacity, Quinwell won. Blue is the name of the game here; another rectangular stadium in a land of circular ones, Quinwell is one of the oldest stadiums in Tumbra, and with Tavistock Athletic stuck in the third division of Tumbran football, it shows.

THE ROOST, KELDER, DARTMOOR
Capacity: 25,000

A densely packed, small stadium in Kelder, the Roost serves as the home ground for the Phoenixes; and the ground's black-and-orange theme suits that. But never mind; what people really come here for is the coffee, which ranks as amongst the best in Tumbra. It is, however, visually distinctive; the exterior is just steel criss-crossing, resembling the branches of a bird's nest. Certainly artisanal, but hey - Kelder's a very artisanal city, too.

GROUP D

Cities: Newton, Columbia

The small state of Alexandria is considered one of the most idyllic states in Tumbra; mainly subsisting on maritime industry, like fishing. Newton is the state's capital and largest city, its urban area bleeding into the neighbouring state of Severn. Yet the state's main footballing powerhouse in recent years is the fishing town and university city of Columbia, its teal-attired stars lighting up the Premier Division.

NOVENA PARK, NEWTON, ALEXANDRIA
Capacity: 32,000

Bright yellow and green is the colour of choice here; Novena Park is a modestly-sized, modern arena with all the trappings of a modern stadium. Interestingly, the outside of the stadium is painted in a bright, shiny white; and renovations are underway to give the front of the stadium a glass facade. At night, the park lights up in green and yellow, providing a contrast to the rest of Newton's skyline.

COLUMBUS FIELD, COLUMBIA, ALEXANDRIA
Capacity: 49,000

Quite why the Southerners, in a city of about 300,000, have an ultra-modern, double-deck stadium of nearly 50,000, is a mystery to many; until they pull back the curtain on who actually owns the 49% of Columbia City Football Club; property magnate Charles Goulding. There's no doubt about the impressiveness of this stadium, and its massive capacity; though with the number of people actually in Columbia itself, it plays to about 75% capacity more often than not.

GROUP E

Cities: Kingsbury, Macarthur

Georgia is the home of Group E; with the biggest port city on the southern coast Kingsbury taking one stadium, and inland industrial powerhouse Macarthur taking the other. Kingsbury's fortuitous position in a natural bay, shielding it from natural disasters, lent it well to trading and shipbuilding; though these days the shipbuilding industry has shifted west to Collatia. Yet, it harnessed its natural position into a long-term advantage, making this one of the richest cities on the south coast. Macarthur, on the other hand, had to harness the river flowing through it; its location in the heart of Tumbra's Golden Belt has given it many a strength, and the wine from the general area is renowned for its sweetness.

FLETCHER PARK, KINGSBURY, GEORGIA
Capacity: 39,000

Surprisingly, nine-time Tumbran champions Kingsbury play out of a 39,000 capacity stadium. The stadium itself has been rebuilt multiple times, going from a bowl-shaped stadium in a natural valley to a much smaller, almost entirely white stadium with a curving roof; instantly giving the stadium a recognisable facade. Whether it's too small for Kingsbury remains to be seen, and plans are on the board to expand its capacity to about 45,000.

MACARTHUR ARENA, MACARTHUR, GEORGIA
Capacity: 40,000

Here's a more no-frills, down to earth stadium in Macarthur; though corporation FisherPrice, specialising in semiconductors, has assumed the naming rights for the stadium. For the tournament, though, the stadium will be known as the Macarthur Arena. The arena itself could use a visual update; built and rebuilt several times, it still shows its age, but that only adds to the sense of history felt as people step through here.

GROUP F

Cities: Bencoolen, Sturrey

The full Western experience; while Bencoolen the city-state is a melting pot of cultures, progressivism and thought, often being nicknamed the "City of Colour" for the multicoloured apartment buildings that dot the west side of the city and promenade, while Sturrey is a working-class, less privileged city that has suffered from industry leaving Tumbra for pastures new.

BENCOOLEN CITY STADIUM, BENCOOLEN
Capacity: 55,000

The smallest of all of Tumbra's twenty-five states, Bencoolen's stadium also includes an athletics track; which, unfortunately, puts distance between the supporters and the players on the pitch. There have, however, been plans mooted to install temporary seating for football matches; though with Tumbra's multiversal sporting ambitions, this may come later, rather than sooner, and if at all.

COLDFIELD LANE, STURREY, THORNTON
Capacity: 35,000

Buildings constructed entirely out of brick, different-shaped stands and located in a lower-income neighbourhood; you'd be forgiven for thinking that Sturrey Athletic was a lower-tier side. And they do play like one; but their status in the Premier Division, as plucky, defensive minnows, brings great joy to the occupants of the city. Apart from that, it's a typical Tumbran stadium; loud, in need of a sprucing-up (like the rest of the city, really), but passionate and tightly-packed.

GROUP G

Cities: Southport, Hoxford

And now, the forgotten cities of Tumbra. The southwest is quite economically deprived comparatively to the rest of the city in general; Lormark has the lowest GDP per capita of all the states, and while Southport chugs along, it's failed to really re-invent itself, pivoting to tourism to try and keep itself afloat. Look to the giant 18th century ship in the harbour that also serves as the centerpiece of the Tumbran Maritime Museum. Hoxford is another university town, and a stark contrast to the rest of the state; where it's progressive, Fremont is steadfastly conservative. Where it's fast-paced, the rest of Fremont is also...slow.

HEART OF THE SOUTH, SOUTHPORT, LORMARK
Capacity: 35,000

One of the more poetically-named stadiums in Tumbra, the Heart of the South provides an action-packed, seaside experience; in fact, it's located right next to the sea. It's also very modern; one of the newest football stadiums in Tumbra, only being completed in 2014. It was built on the ruins of the old one, so there is that sense of location, still; and on the outskirts of the city, it's the largest thing for a long way around.

HOXFORD COMMUNITY STADIUM, HOXFORD, FREMONT
Capacity: 31,000

Redeveloped in the 1990s as a mixed-use ground, the Hoxford Community Stadium is a full complex; there's an exhibition complex located right next to it, though the mountains of grey parking space near it have attracted criticism. Yet, the stadium itself is architecturally unique in the sense that the roof is retractable; a novel invention that hasn't really caught on in Tumbra. It may be a stick-in-the-mud philosophy from the rest of the architecture community. All matches that take place here, as a result, will be dry.

Sarzonia Baby Stars

Manager: Tim Lankford (48)
Steps into the role as manager after Diogo Avarel resigned when he was ruled out for managing the Sarzonian national football team. Lankford brings a defensive sensibility to the Baby Stars and the team will take on that approach moving forward.
Assistant Manager: Joe Carson (44)
Carson was a midfielder in the Sarzonian Football Confederation prior to its relegation to the second level of the Sarzonian football pyramid behind the Cyanea Joint League. He will work with the midfielders.
Assistant Manager: Matt Lynch (37)
The longtime Stars striker is in his first role as an assistant manager. He will work with the forwards.
Goalkeepers Coach: Horace Sandt (40)
Sandt was the goalkeeper who backstopped the Stars lone World Cup championship. He'll work formally with this team in the unofficial capacity he has with his brother Carlton Sandt on the senior national team.

After an action packed RTC U-18 world cup, the national team at a youth level has shifted. Topli-Potok-Wlaktowac Okrug head coach Ralfie Fischer moved his senior side back into long shot contention for the top flight after other pressured managers faltered. Fischer is a known counter attacking manager in the lower levels of the Rekan game, but it is not someone who manages risk free. The youth team's system has a counter attacking edge and is somewhat defensive. The formation and tactics are mostly in line with the vision of the current senior national team coach Lu Jialan. One key difference is a limitation of asymmetric play. Neither forward is a low lying forward, though Stojanowić will clearly be a target.

Stojanowić isn't the only notable player. Stjepan Vlaović had a strong run of form the second tier of Rekan football. Margetić-Šišić is a rising star for Vanguardi and a solid creator with bursts of youthful energy. Erik Goff, team captain, is a multifaceted talent with some captaining at the youth level. Benno “Fleischer” Rüde is the center back to watch, already fighting for starts at an IFCF qualified club. The nickname is no joke, as Fleischer's challenges have gotten cards at times. Having an ultra tall youth goalie doesn't hurt either, though a lot of goals whizzed past Max Dunst last time.
Kits
ImageImage
With some controversy, a bid by Senior NT kit provider Početak: 19.11 was rejected and former NT kit maker Čast was given a new contract for the Women's and Youth teams. Početak: 19.11, owned by people connected to the Preobrazhensky family fortune, which funds the Preo Team football club, had its offices raided. The investigation into Početak’s status as a money laundering front has also implicated a former vice president of the Football Federation, Jurgen Caffier, who was reportedly interrogated according to leaks published by RekanSport. In more fashion related terms, Čast made kits adapted from an Olympic event years ago, using newer fibers developed by Zeta Reka’s largest sportswear manufacturer.

Tactical Set-Up

The young Starsian side is a very skilled team with a very high team chemistry and morale combining it with their quick paced game they are an opponent for all teams to watch out for.
They play in a 4-3-3 which through the match can be changed to various other formations suiting the game that they play however they are an offensive team loving to have possesion of the ball.
This Starsian side is known to play great but very fair soccer respecting every opponent and with their disciplined training they are most likely to make the game rather then reacting to their opponents.

Direct FK Taker: Athena Love

Star players

Maddie Saturn
As the Daughter of team-scout Julian Saturn there is quite a high expectation of this young female, she is a strong left back and also the ace defender of this team.
Her physical strenght may be not as huge as her counterparts but her technical skill and great endurance make up for that giving her opponents often a good run for their money.
Her style is very technical, she loves team plays and wants to bring the team to a whole new level yet at the same time she at times loses eye for her own success too.

Athena Love
The sister of NT player christiana love has been chosen as the captain, compared to her sister she is a more social and energetic personality with a strong mindset and willing to learn.
Also she is a very hard worker unlike her sister by keeping the team's morale high and being a true leader on the field with skill in both offense and defense making her a vert strong player in all sides.
Her style is based on her incredible speed that she uses to get past her opponents while supplying the attack with creative plays and chances to score and on the other hand also assisting the defence when needed.
She is without a doubt the biggest star in this team and one of the very few Starsian to play abroad in the country of Baker Park where she develops her skill rapidly.

Clara Beor
This player is a shy but very tricky and quick girl that has without a doubt the strongest individual skill even surpassing her own captain on individual game here.
However due to that incredible gift she often gets marked very well or fouled easily which is where she often is used more as bait to get a free kick or a penalty then scoring with her own individual plays.
This does not mean she is a bad player, she covers the entire wing and rivals the speed of her captain making her very dangerous from the side by cutting the ball inside often to give great assists, some also call her the silent power of this team which is a title she wears with pride.

Jessica Nolan
Another female striker on the Starsian fields, this young woman already plays in our domestic league and scored some good goals this season for her team Almighty Faith.
Jessica is deadly from close range with her controlled and accurate shots which a lot of goalkeepers that played against her have tremendously underestimated during their matches.
Lastly it also is so that she is very with her passing which she often uses to set up alot of her own scoring chances using her wingers to help her with the final assists after which she can score many goals for her team, although experts predict that Jessica will have a hard time competing with the bigger names so this opportunity will be very important for her to show herself as a candidate for the national team soon.

For youth international tournaments just like the RTC Under-18, the United Adaikes Football Association (UAFA) sends a mixed team of footballers from the Adaikes Premier Football (APF) league system and the UAAUA Football. The only difference for these players is that when a player decides to play for the APF, it loses its right to play in UAAUA Football, especially when a player returns to the university to finish their baccalaureate degree. A player in the APF below 19 years old is also ineligible to sign contracts but can still receive monetarily, and other rewards deemed fit by the club.

CORDIAN NATIONAL U18s

THE JR. NORTH STARS

It'll be another international tournament for Cordian football, and it could be a very interesting tournament for those wanting to witness the future of the Cordian national team, with some very skilled players and potential stars on the team, not to mention plenty of future CIFA players. Most of these players are on domestic U19 club teams participating in the YCFA. Of these, Lakeside U19 is dominant, winning the league by 19 points, and consequentially they are well-represented here.

Players to Watch:
The striker pairing of Kristina Carver and Emilia Larsson is deadly, as many teams found out to their detriment in the YCFA. The two just have some sort of synergy and always seem to be in the right place at the right time to catch a pass in an open area.

Rigmor Johnson is an exceptional keeper who always seems to be in the right place to make the first save. At only sixteen, he's got plenty of room left to grow as a player, which is a bit of a scary thought, especially for those strikers who will end up facing him.

Janne Norris is a shutdown back who excels at winning headers and 50/50 balls with a lot of speed and a bit of a physical touch.

THE TUMBRAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM (U18 side)
The Black Egrets

Image

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

Record in U18 World Cups
RTC U18 World Cup 13: 6-1-1, 14GF, 14GA, Champions
RTC U18 World Cup 14: 5-3-1, 23GF, 7GA, Third
RTC U18 World Cup 15: ?-?-?

Four years on from winning the Under-18 World Cup, the trophy once again arrives in Tumbra; but this time, as hosts of the tournament. Manager Toby Barton has done his scouting, his due dilligence in research and has come up with twenty-three names that he thinks are able to bring home the Under-18 World Cup. They are all free agents; they have not signed any professional contracts yet, even if they are currently training at clubs all over Tumbra. Each of them have their own stories to tell; each of them are looking forward to carving out their own story. And for some of them, this is where it begins. They look at the stories of Trudy Harrison and the Nine, of Stephen Kerr and his move to Chromatik, to the Woodhouse siblings being signed by Wirr Tsi.

Twenty-three names. Twelve girls, eleven boys; by the end of this tournament hopefully they'll come out as women and men. They'll have to; unlike last time out in Xanneria and in the one before that in Zeta Reka, there are expectant eyes watching. Not just in Tumbra, but from all over the world as people watch and see if the rumours of a Tumbran Golden Generation are true. Expectations are high, but manager Toby Barton, as usual, has told the kids to go out, have some fun, and see where their careers bring them.

Players from 1-11 can safely be assumed to be starters, but pre-match XIs will be posted before every cutoff. Please check my RPs for pre-match lineups. If none are posted, feel free to pick and choose from this side.

Tumbra will name eleven starters and twelve names on the bench, with up to three substitutes. In the unlikely event that they make it to extra time, a fourth substitute will be taken. Tumbra will not play for penalties and will try as often as possible to finish a match in ninety or a hundred and twenty minutes.

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA AND ESTORPIVA
MEN'S NATIONAL UNDER-18 FOOTBALL TEAM

The Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva is a federal union between two states, the Federation of Estorvipa and the Republic of Estorpiva, created on 22 November 2019 after the two states agreed to unite together and present a combined front against the other rebel sides in the Estorian Civil War. The Federal Republic is backed by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia (or just Pridnestrovia for short), which was an ally of the old Estorvipan People's Republic before it collapsed into numerous competing factions and states, and Pridnestrovia decided that the Federal Republic was the most stable nation-state that they could support in this war. But despite being backed by a "socialist" nation and adopting some socialist imagery, the Federal Republic is a democratic republic with free and fair elections for the 27 million people under its governance, and its ultimate aim is to reunite the Vipan and Pivan lands peacefully, but if the Federal Republic must use force to restore peace and order in the land then it will certainly do so.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva
Demonym: Estorian
Team colors: Yellow. blue, and red
Style modifier: -1.50
Formation: 4-3-3
Head coach: Codruţ Bochinsky (48 y/o, Estorvipa and Estorpiva)

STARTERS
GK: Gleb PAROV 18 y/o, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg
An excellent keeper for his age and has loads of pace which allows him to charge out of his box to intimidate opposing strikers, but has poor stamina which means that he might start sticking around his area as the game goes on.

RB: Arandjel ANDJELKIĆ 17 y/o, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg
An average defender by most if not all metrics, but makes up for it by his excellent pace, allowing him to close down his side of the pitch by chasing after anyone trying to go down his flank. Also gets easily tired so could be a liability later into games.

RCB: Luka URŠIĆ 18 y/o, FC Foc Feuerstadt
Here's a solid defender who's an aerial threat both in defense and attack. An absolute asset in the air who can defend from an opponent's corner kick and then head the ball once it's time for Estorvipa and Estorpiva to take a corner of their own. Will start the Under-18 World Cup in place of Fedot Bogomolov due to the latter getting a stomach bug upon arrival in Tumbra.

LCB: Bogdan CHIŢULESCU 18 y/o, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul
Solid defender with good technique and average passing skills, meaning that he can shut down opposing chances before they get too dangerous and both dance and pass his way out of danger. Better suited for building out of the back rather than punting it forward to the forwards.

LB: Ruslan ESAULOV 18 y/o, FK Spartak Rybolovlev
Another average defender but has solid pace and adequate technique and passing skills. Sometimes he might go forward to assist the wingers and forwards, leaving his flank exposed for the opposition to exploit, but he does have the pace to burn to make up for it sometimes.

RM: Maxym TARAN 17 y/o, FK Chornyy Volodymyrovka
His passing and defending are his best skills, meaning that his main job is to protect his side of the pitch and move the ball forward if it comes to him. Sometimes he will take a pot shot at goal if he has the chance and the space, but don't expect him to score many screamers or bangers or golazos or whatever.

CM: Alex Claudiu GAVRILĂ 18, FK Spartak Rybolovlev
There's a reason why he was placed in the center of the pitch for this team, and that is because he is good both defensively and going forward. He has both the sharp eyes to find the assist or key pass to the forwards and the strength to stop almost anybody from getting past him, but can't score a penalty or a tap-in to save his life.

LM: Ashot RAZINSKIJ 18 y/o, CSK Armiya Supskij
The jack-of-all-trades had been placed on the left side because of his wicked good left foot. With that left foot he could pick out any player he wanted, dribble his way out of trouble, or even nick the ball off of anyone trying to get through to the Estorian goal on the left side, and even score the occasional goal.

RW: Arkadiy BORISENKO 18 y/o, FK Spartak Rybolovlev
He can swing in the ball from almost anywhere on the pitch, but he prefers sticking to the right wing because he prefers his right foot to do the work for him. Despite having a wicked good right peg in him, he never seems to be able to get a goal for whatever reason. Not for lack of trying, but no matter what he does, the ball just wouldn't go into the back of the net when he hits it.

CF: Petru-Iustin UDEANU 18 y/o, FK Dinamo Durdenville
An average striker whose main job is to just be there to receive the ball and shoot at goal when it gets passed to him. He can dribble his way out of trouble if need be, but if he needs to spend more than a few seconds thinking about where to shoot then it's a guaranteed miss or save from the keeper once he finally pulls the trigger.

LW: Gheorgiţă VĂRZARU 17 y/o, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg
He can run across the pitch as quick as you like, can cross and Inshallah all day long and even score some goals. His only problem is that he can't do it across ninety minutes since his stamina is all but hopeless.

RESERVES
GK: Zarko IORDANOV 17 y/o, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg
Another sweeper keeper with bags of pace to burn. The only reason why he's on the bench as opposed to starting is that compared to Gleb Parov, he is only a good keeper as opposed to Parov's excellence.

GK: Kiril PARISHEV 17 y/o, FK Mamai Ihorovtsi
Talk about a literal bench warmer. He's only here to fulfill three three goalkeeper minimum quota, and as far as young Estorian sweeper keepers go, he's downright average. He's literally a warm body in a seat, a passenger in this team.

DF: Puiu DASCĂLU 18 y/o, FC Foc Feuerstadt
He's similar in almost all aspects to Arandjel Andjelkic except for one thing, which makes him an almost no-brainer substitution in the back line if Andjelkic needs to go off. The one thing keeping him on the bench is his lack of pace, but it shouldn't matter if he's coming in to go up against wingers with tired legs.

DF: Fedot BOGOMOLOV 16 y/o, FK Spartak Rybolovlev
Nobody knows how or why he was able to make it into this team despite his not being a player of note, but rumors are that his father, the Minister of Sport for the Federal Republic, had something to do with his inclusion not just in the final 23 but also the starting eleven. But however he got into this team, he won't be able to start due to getting a stomach virus upon arriving in Tumbra.

DF: Vadym KONSHIN 17 y/o, FK Chornyy Volodymyrovka
An average all-rounder defender who can tackle the ball or head it away but doesn't really stand out in any other way apart from those. He can pass the ball and dribble his way out of trouble, but like everything else about him, they're all par for the course for a defender such as him.

DF: Ilia BAGNYUK 18 y/o, FK Velikiy Varadino
Another pseudo-wingback in the roster whose main assets are the ability to go forward and assist the wingers and forwards in attacking the opponents' goal and the speed to get back to the defensive line and protect his side of the pitch. But like many other bench players in this team, the only thing keeping him out of the starting eleven is his poor stamina.

MF: Marcian ROGOVEANU 17 y/o, FC Foc Feuerstadt
He can pass, and he can sometimes put the ball on target and score the very occasional goal sometimes, maybe once in a thousand attempts, but his defensive sense is so tragic that even a stone column could get past him if it wanted. He is quick-footed though, and may be an asset to a team looking to chase a goal. Maybe.

MF: Serafim ARSHINKOV 18 y/o, FK Chornyy Volodymyrovka
He can pass, he can assist, he can dribble, he can maybe take the occasional shot at goal. The only thing keeping him on the bench is the fact that for a central midfielder, his defending seems to be poor, poorer than the other available midfielders on this team. Still, once again he could be a good option for a team chasing after a goal or two.

MF: Vsevolod SKISH 18 y/o, CSK Armiya Supskij
His problems are the exact opposite of Serafim Arshinkov's. He can pass, he can assist, he can dribble his way out of trouble, but he just couldn't hit the woodwork even if he tried. Most if not all of his shots are liable to pose more a danger to spectators than the opposing team, so spectators beware if he comes on to the pitch.

FW: Miro NANCHEV 18 y/o, FK Spartak Rybolovlev
He's an average striker, end of story. He can sometimes hold up the ball and act as a support striker, but if he really has to be used from the bench, he's better off just being planted in the middle of the penalty area as the recipient of crosses and corner kicks.

FW: Vuk TRIŠOVIĆ 17 y/o, CSK Armiya Supskij
This lad has absolute loads of pace and can dribble his way out of a broom closet, but the one thing holding him back from inclusion into the starting eleven is the fact that he whiffs his shots and hits the woodwork more times than he actually finds the back of the net. But that's the only thing he really needs to improve, his accuracy. Once he hits the target more and more he can become a contender for a starting spot.

FW: Vasyl SANDUL 17 y/o, FK Mamai Ihorovtsi
For a striker, he's actually much better off defending against corner kicks than actually scoring from them. At least he knows where the target actually is, and he can actually run at the defense and goalkeeper to put them off. Unfortunately for him, there's no place where he could actually fit in so off to the bench he has to go for the meantime.

Note: In the Adabian timeline, the U18 World Cup takes place around June-July 2036. Age is as of June 1, 2036.

The Adabian Under-18 National Football Team

The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning.
-Pelé

Demonym: Adabian (plural Adabians)
Association: Adab Football Association (AFA)

BACKGROUND
The Adabian under-18 team stunned many by reaching the final of the 14th Under-18 World Cup, their debut appearance in the tournament, losing only to Mertagne in extra time. Under-18 manager Faisal al-Ali found himself touted in some quarters as a potential successor to Saad Kaykali when the latter retires as senior team manager, but he barely acknowledged all the talk about his future prospects, insisting that he was fully committed to the under-18 team and looking forward to the next tournament.

And now the time had come for the 15th Under-18 World Cup, and al-Ali and his young prospects flew to Tumbra aware of the increased expectations for them. Could they equal their achievement at the previous U-18 World Cup and reach the final once again? Or, God willing, could they even win it all? In public al-Ali put on a calm front, calling on his countrymen not to put too much pressure on his players. “Yes, we want to win, we want to win it all, but you must also remember that these are young players who are seeking experience in international tournaments,” al-Ali said. “They are taking their baby steps in international football. I don’t want this to become too much of a burden to them.”

The national team's kits, designed by Ahmad Enlil (the first President of the Football Association) in 1907, are currently manufactured by Shining Sun Company, owned by Rahman Ashurbanipal, businessman and grandson of Emperor Tizqar III.

A friend and former teammate of senior team manager Saad Kaykali at Baghdad City, al-Ali shocked the Adabian football community by taking the under-18 team all the way to the final of the 14th Under-18 World Cup. His success has made al-Ali a dark horse candidate to eventually succeed Kaykali in the senior team, but he insists that he has no greater ambitions and is fully focused on managing the under-18 team.

STADIUM
Image

Adab City Stadium, the pride and joy of Adabian football, was completed in 1940. Located in the northern part of Adab City, the stadium was able to accommodate 40,000 people at the time of its opening. Renovations in 1978 made it an all-seater stadium and expanded its capacity to 55,350. Later it increased to 75,000 following upgrades in 2009-10 and then 76,500 after another upgrade in 2019. It is currently home to the Adabian national football team and Adab City FC.

TACTICS AND FORMATION
The team will use 4-3-2-1, the "Christmas tree" formation, with an emphasis on attacking play and taking advantage of their opponents' mistakes to launch a quick counterattack, marked by rapid passing from the back four - and, if deemed safe enough, long balls - through the midfield and to the front.

RTC 15 (U18 WC)
Pre Match 1 vs Adab

Newton, Columbia: The Sharktail U18 squad has begun training sessions in Tumbra. Ahead of the Group D kick -off against Adab in a few days, the players are actively preparing to make sure they are ready.

In this edition, Sharktail has been voted alongside Adab, Indusse and Brookstation. All teams have an equal chance of qualifying for the next round. Sharktail will open the curtain against Adab, followed by Brookstation and end the group action against Indusse.

Team manager, Max Zahari is confident that the selection of the squad this time will meet his tactical criteria. For him, he wants a player who exactly he feels will be able to adapt tactically.

"I want players who can play with my tactics. If they can't, it will cause problems for the whole team."

When asked if the players are in positions like dm, ml, mr where their position is not in their tactics, this is Max's answer.

"If they are good, I will still pick them. And how they will play in the team, this one I will try to adjust in terms of the role they will play. Ofcourse most importantly, I have to make sure they can go all out."

The next question posed to him was the chance of each player in this team to play.

"I am more concerned with teamwork, but discipline and hard work is merit. If I see a player's performance during training better than the main starting squad, I will make a change. Everyone deserves something of their hard work. That's what I believe."

The last question asked of him was the target for this team.

"My goal is to win with this team, of course everyone will set that as a target. But for now, my main priority target is to pass the group stage with a solid performance and get a spot in the next round. What is important, solid performance . "

Squad selection, done. Medical, done. Training, done. All that remains is the match that will take place. Let's all stand behind the team. Official RTC 15 report in Tumbra, it me Nazri. Let go, #TheRiseOfBlue. See you next time.

National Anthem--"Hear Our Voices Commonwealth"

Nickname--since the end of the 1960's the National Team has been known as "The Bees", a period when the team's uniforms consisted of alternating black and gold hoops. While the bee is an element on the coat of arms of the Commonwealth—a long accepted heraldic symbol of industriousness--the association was actually a reference made in an Italian newspaper game story when the senior team was wearing the hooped shirts, referring to the BP team as il Bombi (the bumblebees) for their perseverance and swarming tactical play.

Colors--Black & Gold (while they are just 2 of the 5 main colors on the flag of Baker Park--Blue, Red and White are the others--black & gold have been closely associated in the nation's consciousness as representative of the country since its founding.)

The Commonwealth of Baker Park takes great pride in participating in the Under-18 World Championship for the significance it holds in the history of the FAC--as the first competition that saw young men and women playing together in the same side, the first significant trophy won in that same debut appearance, and the honor of being only the second nation to have won the title on two different occasions.
This edition of the BP U18 squad sees the return of 17 players that helped the Junior Bees to the knockout round in Xanneria. Co-Captain Stefani Martini looks to build upon her talismanic performance in that run, as she netted five times and assisted on 4 other scores, nearly 50% of the team's output in 7 matches.

The Federation of Mertagnian Football Presents...
Image
The Mertagnian National U-18 Football Team
for the RTC U18 World Cup 15

Our History:

Mertagne shocked the multiverse by smashing the opponents in the last U-18 World Cup, taking home the trophy after defeating teams such as Chromatika, Tumbra, and Adab, the latter a thrilling game that saw the Mertagnians cinch victory in extra time. Mertagne's footballing body, the FMF, has ramped up the pressure for the young squad, and is sincerely hoping that the money that it and the government has spent on youth academy programs has paid off. Fielding a fresh squad to the U18 World Cup 15 that consists primarily of home-grown talent, it is hopeful that this generation will work hard with the same lofty ambitions that the previous cycle's team managed to get to. Many members of the team are excited to head to Tumbra to take part in the tournament, a large, genial nation that appears to share a lot in common with the Mertagnian heartland.

Our Key Staff:

Manager: Kylian Forsyth, 29 Image
Kylian Forsyth has not let his chronic condition get in the way of a successful career. Catapuling the Mertagnian U18 team to success in the last edition has thrust him into the limelight among the top brass of Mertagnian football, drawing the attention of names such as Michelle Romanage over at the FMF. With the footballing federation under stange circumstance surrounding corruption and the sale of news stories to journalists, Forsyth has tried very hard to stay out of any issues and focus on honing his tactical mind on developing and molding a successful squad to challenge for the trophy once again this cycle.

His style on paper is a conservative -2, and the team will be playing a 4-5-1 formation with a slight over-reliance on the counter attack, using their single striker on pitch, to steal some goals. Don't be fooled by the defensive leaning, however, as Forsyth has often instructed the two midfielders at the edges to take matters into their own hands and run an attack if they have the opportunity. This is sure to expand the critical thinking skills of these juvenile players, and hopefully set them up for a long an interesting footballing career under Kylian's tutelage.

These team tactics worked well last time, and Kylian is hoping to continue nuturing a defensive leaning into the team that he hopes will be carried forward into the more senior squads. It seems there is a soft power from being involved in these youth squads that Kylian is looking to wield.

Assistant Manager: Souveraine Riddle, 37 Image
Souveraine Riddle is a woman of few words, but many expressions. Her harsh style of coaching stems from her tenure at Audsley Academy, a hotbed for Mertagnian Youth on Horsehead Island, located in the province of Dannmarsh. It's been said she's not as strict as she used to be, with the previous generation of U18 players discovering that she had a more fun side, but it seems that her fun demeanour is something that has to be earned.

GOALKEEPERS - 3

Unlike in past editions, the current edition of Grim Reapers' does not possess a clear-cut starting goalkeeper. This means that there is a likelihood Tahmid James, the Under-18 and the Under-21 national team manager, could go with a rotation of three goalkeepers and let a starter emerge from this group.

DEFENDERS - 8

Defence? What defence?

On a more serious note, this is a solid group of defenders compiled for the Quebecois national team. With a solid mix of players plying their trades abroad, and the rest playing significant minutes on their domestic clubs, there is no doubt that this team does have significant potential to carry around. Still, football is a team game and if there's one thing the Under-18s or even Under-21s are known for, is their teamwork. The patchy teamwork, love of going out of position during scoring opportunities, tendency to commit to fouls in order to 'own opposing players', is to be expected with this talented group of players led by major prospects Joo Pil-Seung, Pierre-Karl Miller and Laurent Friesen.

16 RB/LB Klara Verlaan 17 TMB FC Inter Nantwich

MIDFIELDERS - 5

The Grim Reapers' use of the 4-2-4 formation on the junior level has more or less meant that there would be a bit of challenge selecting who would be the best midfielders at this level to select. Fortunately and unfortunately, the talent depth up middle's one that this class of Quebecois national team isn't known for, so it is expected all five of these players to see significant playing time, perhaps to their detriment. Rebecca-Anne Wawanolett has already seen playing time on the senior level, and is expected to be the main ball controller of this team with absolute liberties given. Joelinton Dykeson, a gigantic piece of pylon, and fast food-loving ball of talent in Pengsoo Brown are expected to split minutes on the other half of the midfield starters. Jordyn Mah and Maude Kalicho-Qaqqaq, however, are just as technically proficient and if neither turn out to be good options, they can replace either with relative ease. Among two of them, Mah's been viewed as the player with higher potential due to her superiority on transition games, but MKQ may be more useful if she's to be substituted for late second half minutes to lock down a victorious outcome.

## POS Player Age TRI Club

FORWARDS - 7

Fairly talented group of players who are positionally versatile. As with their senior equivalent, this group of Under-18 prospects are known for their flashiness, love of physical play and tendencies to get carded more often than not. Among them, the most notable ones are Kingsley-Roger Hertel, the CSKA Quebec starlet whose older brother is Fontvielle Impact midfielder Marco Hertel, Hwang Byeong-Wook who's viewed by many as the number one reason why Swanguard Athletic should be having a good Q-League season on their return to the top-tier football, and Ignacio Pizzolitto with fantastic footwork. Connor Bouck is probably the most stable of the bunch, however, and the team may use his services to stabilise what's a fairly explosive group as whole.

With More Eyes On Him Than Ever Before, Can Toby Barton Bring the Under-18 World Cup Back Home?

LAKEWOOD — IT'S a weird tournament to get hung up over, to say the least. The Under-18 World Cup is the smallest of football's three World Cups, certainly not held in as much esteem as its older cousin, the Di Bradini Cup, or even the longest-running sporting event in the world, the World Cup itself. Yet the Tumbran enthusiasm for it most certainly stems from its debut victory four years ago; when the tournament was held in Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom.

The victory of the unfancied team in the cup — overcoming a Græntfjaller, then Tequila side, has long since been elevated into the Tumbran sporting pantheon; and re-telling its story for the umpteenth time would simply be a waste of print space at this point. So, too, would be recounting the fates of its players; everyone knows where the Nine ply their trade now.

Yet the story remains told simply because it's a good story. And the win — Tumbra's first in any kind of international competition — would go on to set the foundations for three of Tumbra's other sporting successes. Who was in the squad for Tumbra's win in the Di Bradini Cup? None other than Kerr and Harrison. Who was on the pitch when Tumbra put down Quebec and Shingoryeo? Kerr and Harrison. And who would go on to bring the Campionato Esportiva trophy home for the Black Eagles on the third time of asking, one edition after they crashed out at the very bottom of the group stage?

Kerr and Harrison.

Senior team manager Yuan Zilai has spoken at length at his faith in the Tumbran youth system; and has also gleefully remarked on the sheer amount of talent available with it, so much so that he's lifted previous manager Marco Hemmings' philosophy that junior teams should mirror the senior teams' tactics and playing mentality, giving them unrestrained freedom. This has allowed the coaching nous of Edmund Finnegan and Toby Barton, the two junior team coaches, to flourish; both of them are now able to manage their junior teams as they wish. And while Finnegan has stuck closer to Yuan's defence-first, counterattacking style, Barton instead has opted for a more balanced style; citing the need for "players to experience a wide range of playing styles and not be pigeonholed into a particular style of playing" at youth level.

Barton's never really been a manager that has shied away from going against the grain; it was his choice to bring the Nine to Zeta Reka in the first place that saw the floodgates come down to women playing in the Premier Division. The idea may have been his, or it may have been Marco Hemmings'; the key was that the Tumbran Football Federation did not like it, and they wished to kill it.

They didn't manage to. Barton's victory meant that media attention was unavoidable; and we all know what happens next.

Two years later, Barton went to an ill-fated tournament in Xanneria and Starcom, marked by organisational mess-ups which saw the tournament finish, but the country's reputation permanently tarnished; and finished third in the tournament, another excellent result considering he'd brought a fresh crop of players to the tournament. He was keen to ease expectations, especially in the wake of the victory; so as to not pile on too much stress onto the young players.

This time, at home, Barton's gone for the same tactic. Plucking twenty-three footballers who haven't yet signed professional contracts with football teams — from academies, youth squads or otherwise — and coaching them to play football in his image. It's worked twice before; and he's hoping it'll work again. But this time, he'll have to pull off his trick at home; where expectations will be even higher. No matter how much he's eased expectations — a constant theme of his press conferences, from the announcement of the squad up to the announcement of the fixtures — the sense of expectation will still be there. To win a tournament on home soil, to or at the very least return to the Semi-Finals; that is the unspoken aim for fans around Tumbra, even if nobody really knows what Barton himself wants from this tournament.

The respect Tumbran fans have for the Under-18 World Cup, and the desire to make Tumbra its home once more, may be too much for Barton and his new crew of 23; but if he alone doesn't crack under the pressure, then he knows that he can soak up the pressure for the rest of the team.

And that in itself might be a recipe for success.

OOC: Of course, if you wish to enter a sports film to be reviewed, send me a TG or PM with basic premises, ideas, etc, and we'll talk further. If you've done something before, of course, we can pick it up from there as well. There is only one condition - that it must be a foreign film covering Québécois sports scene/plot, or a film covering foreign sports/plot content but directed/produced by a Québécois.

'100 Years of Sporting Films': 'Suicides of a Wallflower Cauliflower' Review

★★★★★

Baek Mong-Ryong

Cinematic adaptations of teen novels, especially those that aim to highlight social or personal issues, can be a peculiar landmine for many filmographers. We've seen a few dozen successes and a tenth of those also being masterpieces, but hundreds more have failed in addressing them while being considered aesthetically decent or even appropriate. But the issues may have been in that the public, at the same time, is not so willing to accept it - the Quebecois public has tendencies to either overreact to moral degeneracies or just accept the unacceptable as 'alright'.

Perhaps that was why I felt particularly anxious when asked to review Suicides of a Wallflower Cauliflower by Pascal Woo, of a long-aged teenage novel from the century long bygone of same name. Fortunately though, as I went further and further into this film, the more amazed I felt about rewatching the film with bold formatting choices and powerful deliveries, making it very much worthy to join the list of films to be re-screened at the 2052 Halifax International Film Festival next October.

Pascal Woo's Suicides of a Wallflower Cauliflower is one of those classics that initially became legendary due to the infamies brought. The story, told via depressing letters written by an alias of online troll by its antisocial footballer prospect, Jarome 'Lil Freak' Noh, twists around boring teenage novel stereotypes brought by a Wallflower-styled stories. Instead of finding his own clan of like-minded edgelords, a shy, antisocial kid with athletic gifts entering high school and academy ball who quickly spirals in the communities of normal people and is left without a peace. In that case, those who aid and amuse him is made up of older teenagers, who finds Jarome an amusing project to be corrupted like John from 'Brave New World'.

Premiered at the 2024 Kingston International Film Festival to shocked audience, who booed Woo off the stage, it's a reverse coming-of-age material at its finest. It breaks down into every single aspect of what's considered more hallow of this concept that's known as adolescence- to Woo, there is no point being touchy-touchy and warm feelings about serious issues that haunt the lives of prospects in the circle of collegiate sports and brutal chase that is high school social circles. By turning Jarome from a lovable giant with disarming earnestness to a true fiend with a remarkable winning streak, but also pieces of a destroyed yet unregretful soul, Woo gets to the point without being fake about it.

The film, which in itself is a film adaptation of the 1978 novel 'Cauliflower Suicides', is particularly strong on narrative aspect of it. As always with cinematic adaptations of novels, there is always a risk of staying too true to the course by even c+ping the format or staying too far by redesigning it. And this film, being the 2020s-era adaptation of a 1970s novel, automatically carried that risk as Jarome's letters, written in sonnets, is all that the original novel's consisted of. Thus the additional shoutout has to go to Woo in finding his own path to it by avoiding the repetition of awkward, creepy sonnets, and instead replacing the lines with montages of his writing process, and aggressive use of mise-en-scene to imply the level of grime underneath the high life. By not being direct with some of the descriptions, but just letting the audience figure out from the intuition and implied meanings of those objects (the shadows of those windows, in particular, are useful), he allows the narrative to creep up into the audience's heads and the two-year nightmare to submerge and submerge into poor Jarome.

Being a film that does not intend to fake it and pretend Jarome enjoying his lowly status, this film aggressively debones the sentimentality and the nostalgia out through consistent discord of his mind and acts, and the intimacy of sound and image for those around poor Jarome. While the the soundtrack choice by Woo, a rough mix of the latest EDM and trap hits at the time, are not the best in terms of elevating the film quality, it does do the bare minimum of providing an ample atmosphere. Each track, from Emerson Kah's 'Syntaxes' to a 2013 Cho-Brown remix of Charles Merton Regimbault's 7th Symphony (I. Allegro), has a clear purpose and is placed well.

Pascal Woo, at that point in his career, was a fairly seasoned director and producer with 6 moderate hits to his roster of films at age 43. His strong background in film and in particular television, where he worked for a half-decade with the QBC (!), helped him to question how the media can be manipulated to generate certain images. That may have ben why Suicides of a Wallflower Caulifower was executed very well, providing truthful portrayals of youth academy football and high school life, while providing enough theatricity and tension to it all.

Still, we all know just as much of it was possible because of its talented cast. The quartet of leading actors and actresses were flawless. The laudation starts off with Jean-Jacques Demers (who later plays the father Deutscher in 'The Virgin Sacrifices'), whose explosive debut as transformative Jarome drew critical acclaimed and started off a wonderful career that continues to this day. He is complemented nicely by Julie Melancon, who successfully evolves beyond her child actor days with a solid run as chainsmoking midfielder Sarah-Samara. Her ability to control Jarome through all means, which certainly lifts the film up by a couple of classification grades, is a top-notch act at play.

Pierce Ayling also succeeds in shedding his goody-two-shoe child actor days with the film, where he plays a weightlifting, high-on-roids-and-weed goalkeeper Evan, though we don't get to see his infectious sins until the very end of the film. Donheil A. Akongo, best known these days as a middle-aged actor portraying white collared sidekicks, deviates as Levi, the teenagers' all-controlling coach who is immediately likeable to the players but is perhaps too effective with controlling them through fear.

It's in the combination of various sufferings imposed on Demers's Jarome that Woo succeeds in turning this into a mini-thriller as well, with the images of some of the abusive practices known in the youth football world all pieced together with painful memories of high school he's stated on media interviews as 'nuisances'. The deterioration of his mind and soul, where he suffers for the people's sins in exchange of their joys when watching football live and on television, makes it the very opposite of what's comfortable for the viewers, but make them respect the format.

For decades, Pascal Woo's image on the public has been a controversial one due to this film, and he, with commercial pathways more or less limited, has taken an even deeper entry into the independent films. Still, the fans of this film and the related genres, who have come to appreciate the later years' watered down, politically correct films like 'Giant Penguin' (2034) or 'Darling, Are You Going To Leave Me?' (2050), have come to appreciate the director's work more and more. Now, he can rest in peace knowing that the film's back to where it belongs - a deserving spot on the echelons of sports films.

Trigram: GRÆ [GRF when not available]
Demonym/adjective: Græntfjaller
Team nickname: [Junior] Snow Wolves

Coach: Trine Kakalisdóttir
Assistant coach: Saxi Dómaldsson

Trine is known for her disciplinarian streak, which is helpful when it comes to shepherding around a group of overpaid teenagers, but not as an especially bold tactical thinker. At the last Cup she was willing to let her players take the lead, with some big mistakes, but also some exciting highlights. Her assignment is, as much as anything, not to be boring. The squad is based on the U-17 team that competed at the Copa Rushmori Juvenil 1 year ago [Græntfjaller time].
