Looks like Mercedes has abandoned the idea of settling the championship on the track and is trying to get a retroactive penalty to change the outcome of the Brazillian Grand Prix.

For reference, a five second time penalty would drop Max to third, closing the WDC gap to nine points rather than fourteen and open the WCC gap to fifteen.

This isn’t that uncommon. It was even a plot point in Rush when Laura did something similar to Hunt. They even talked about filing complaints as part of winning during the Petit Le Mans. Still shady though.

It’s just funny how quickly they bounced from “we’re not going to protest Lewis getting disqualified because we want to settle this on track” to “we’re protesting because the stewards didn’t kick Max in the head for not letting Lewis win”.

It should be entertaining when the recap season comes out on Netflix/lazyaboutF1

Look dude, you're a young nation. You don't know the history of people trying to maintain a car/motorsports thread. You don't know how much of a short leash they have for them. Under normal circumstances openly taunting things they disprove of is a losing proposition. I've been here for a disturbingly long time, take the advice. Or don't, and I'll have to wait another year or two before another gearhead comes along and tries this. You've only gotten away with it because they probably haven't even peeked in, but it just takes one hall monitor and it's done.

And look, it's not even hard, man. Watch.

The Glickenhaus 007 LMH has a roll out and reinforces my feeling that the new Hypercar class is not going to be an old GT1 style production based class but the old prototype class with a new name.

Motorsports news happens every day. Just go to Autosport or something and find something interesting or relevant and post it. It's pretty damn easy.

Or pretend you're a rebel or some dumb shit...what the fuck do I care.

Supercars has finally revealed the new Gen 3 car for 2023 and Goddamn. Among the changes will be less aero and less downforce for better racing, although they look like the might be a tad more difficult to handle than the current Gen 2 cars.

In related news, "GOAT" Jamie Whincup is retiring at the end of this year fill time after 18 years in the championship.

That racing seemed a lot more 'exotic' from the outside when it was Commadores and Falcons instead of Mustangs and Camaros. Well "Mustangs" and "Camaros."

The one with two red flags and the stewards handing Hamilton the win on a silver plate.

Well. I mean it wasn't the cleanest thing I have ever seen but.
What I want is for someone that in not Lewis to actually win a championship.
