We Must Move On: Insaanistan Post-Civil War [IC/Read OP]

Postby Insaanistan » Sat Dec 04, 2021 11:50 am

It’s December of 2021. The Coronavirus has resurgent in certain parts of the nation with the new Omicron variant, forcing residents of the major cities of Insaanistan to brace for another lockdown.

The Taliban, al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, ISIS and al-Qaeda have begun to rear their ugly heads again, as the nation struggles to get back on its feet. Every once in a while, just to keep the government on its toes, they launch an attack. But they’re getting bolder: with the Taliban in control of most of Afghanistan, they’ll now have a safe haven to flock to.

Ethnic violence has again popped up in the nation. Insaanistan’s military was drastically reduced after the war, and the government is struggle to allocate enough troops to keep the peace in hotspots for interethnic conflict.

In Parliament, there’s bickering and fighting over what to do next. Indeed, many are in favor of a move with global implications: isolating the whole country. They argue doing so would keep Insaanis from spreading Coronavirus and malaria elsewhere, and that the nation will better be able to fix itself if it’s not focused on what’s going on outside it’s borders. Others counter argue this would only implode an already struggling economy, and enrage other countries, who buy oil from the Insaanis.

Shaheeda and Muhammad are in Sharifistan with Khadijah Khan, attempting to rebuild their lives there. As for Soraya & Bashir, they are alive and have gone into hiding, fearful of what to do next.
And Nura, once the beloved ruler of the whole nation, is still imprisoned in Polish-Prussia, being drugged constantly to ensure she stays asleep and can’t escape. Fazluddin, her brother, is also still locked away, but done waiting for someone to find him. Every day, he crafts a plan. A plan to escape. Davud has returned to France safely, frazzled and about to enter a new chapter in his life, one he realizes he is woefully unprepared for.
Asim on the other hand is in Gongsi with his nephew, and unsure of what to do about what he feels about Long, something along herself is also dealing with.

Now, our characters, heroes, villains and all, are about to endure challenges they never faced before, and have stepped into a world they do not know. A world more dangerous than even they had ever known. Little did they know, but with the death of Mustafa and ensuing chaos, darkness had begun to creep over the world. Struggling to survive, they neither notice it, nor can stop it.

We have morn and wept for those who have past on. Our tears have dried but the scars on our hearts remain evermore. As for Mosarat time marches on it’s never ending tattoo. The glorious sun beats down upon the ancient nation. Scott Kathleen Konrad Morrison Nicholas Farhan and the other heroes of this saga must now must continue with their life and live it to the best of their abilities.

One year and nearly two months ago The Sultan of Mosarat, Farhan Hashem made a strange and uncertain journey to Insaanistan. Before even set foot on Insaani soil he had a dream where he witnessed the destruction of Muslimbol and the death of Mustafa. He made it his purpose to save and defend the royal family. To a certain extent he did. He saved Davud from himself however he couldn’t save the city of Muslimbol or Mustafa and sadly of all he couldn’t save the royal family. However now wasn’t the time. Today he his wife and his friend and confidant Dr. Morrison Alton are visiting the grave of Mustafa.

“So long ago it seems.” The Sultan said.
“I know it’s been only year but it seems so long.” The Sultana said.
“The family is dead or missing and those still alive can’t even set foot here.” Dr. Alton said.
“I can remember how pretty the city looked. I remember the people and I remember the palace. I remember the party…” The Sultan’s eyes glazed over.
“It all happened because revolutionaries stormed the palace.” The Sultana said.
“Ever since I came here I have had dreams and that first dream has came true many times over.” The Sultan said. Before long the trio went to the limousine and went to go see the current president of Insaanistan, President Abdul-Gaffar.

The limousine arrived at a now rebuilt Presidential Palace (Renamed “the Presidential Residence”). Abdul-Ghaffar’s guards opened the door and welcomed them in, escorting them to Abdul-Ghaffar’s office. Waiting for them was tea and māmul and bâlawa (baklava). The president stood to greet them, kissing Farhan on the cheek the customary amount of times for Egyptians and shaking his hand, then turning to Queen Nevine and place his right hand on his chest.
“Salaamu ālaykum wa rahmatallah,” he said. “Welcome to Insaanistan once again.”

James Mercurius and Riley Church ride in a car together. The two very close friends are on thier way to the Senate Building, where James is supposed to give an address regarding the deteriorating situation in Insaanistan.
After a few minutes, the two entered the Senate through the secondary entrance, they walked for a minute or two and they stopped. "I´ve got to go, see you later Riley." said James, "See you later James." answered Riley, as the two waved at eachother.

After a long series of questions, two answers stuck out in the eyes of the public.

Will Erloane help Insaanistan ?
"Yes, Erloane shall send respirators, full body biohazard suits, lung ventilators and other medical supplies."

Terrorist organisations are begining to resurface in the region. "Will the goverment be able to protect its citizens ?
"I believe that Insaanistani armed forces are going to have a hard time, thus Erloane is prepared to support the soldiers of Insaanistan with arms and training, and in the most desperate of circumstances we are prepared to defend the democratic values of Insaanistan."

Erloane will send supplies to Insaanistan and the armed forces are ready to start supporting this nation militarily.

“Inshallah, inshallah,” Abdul-Ghaffar said. “As for Afghans, we’re swamped with refugees. The UAE and Qatar can’t take them all and so they want us to take them in, despite the fact they know we’re in trouble. At this next Organization of Islamic Cooperation conference, I’ll make sure this is addressed. I normally wouldn’t have any problem taking in fleeing Muslims, but our economy is in free-fall. He pointed to the table, urging them to sit down.

DAESH (ISIS) and the Taliban, while both extremists groups masquerading as devout Muslims, differed in many respects. But one thing they agreed on: they wanted “foreigners” out. That meant all non-Muslims had to leave or convert to Islam. It also meant they wanted Langenian troops out of the nation. With rumors the two nations were going to officially re-establish ties, they worried Langenian troops would remain indefinitely as they had before the war.
Salman Rizvi, leader of the Insaani Taliban, had made his decision: he would order all Langenian forces out of Insaanistan, or else.
“This is pure land of Islam,” he told his advisors. “One day, it shall be part of an Emirate all over the world with our Emir al-Mûmineen in Kabul at the head. The first step is to purify our lands, and make it one of Islam and Islam only.”

Addressing the question of their attendance, he shrugged. “I’m not sure, actually. While you are Muslim majority, you haven’t actually applied and been accepting into the Organization. Additionally, your nation technically does exist in our frame of existence, or universe, or whatever.”

I would say for some of the Muslim leaders this would come as a shock due to my resemblance of former governor of Egypt Gamal Abdel Nasser. You wouldn’t believe the looks I get here sometimes.” The Sultan said. He began laughing at the last part of his comment.

He thought for a moment. “I might be able to get an opinion from someone in the org’s higher ups. Give me a moment.” He rose up, went to the phone on his desk, and dialed a number.

Somewhere on the southern Socalist-Royalist border, Sharfaristan.
298th Motor infantry division
290th battalion

Corpral Nekrestyanov Artemiy holds out a light for his squadmate, The amber light from the cigarette slightly illuminating their foxhole in the dead of night. The two savor as much of the peaceful night as they can, they both know that - before long, it will be swept away by the winds of war.
Or insurgents,
Or both.
They could both hear the Sounds of a T-72 being directed to it's "hull-down" position for the night, its engines seemingly instructed to make as much noise as humanly possible.

They were instructed to make a defensive line along the border, already - they were making good progress. Searchlights positioned on elevations scanning the border, walls of barbed wire, AT barricades, and tripwire flares have already been set up, practically making the southern section of the border a killzone for those who dare to infiltrate the Country, with only a few "gates" for those who wish to enter legally. The whole system was designed to make it as difficult as they can for the terrorists to cross the borders. Digital tracking systems, improved TSA, Cameras and facial recognition systems, the whole shebang.
The Sultanate can burn down to the ground for all they care, but the Republic must be protected, at any cost nessecary.

Insaanistan

Sir Mark Bryson-Richardson, a liaison of the English Realm in Insaanistsan, looked out of the window of his temporary home. It was early morning, probably five or six in the morning. The diplomat sighed. He had entered this country recently, as the English representative to Insaanistan, and already he could see chaos unfolding. With the pandemic sweeping across the nation, Parliament unable to do anything, and a terrorist attack imminent, it was no wonder that England was sending a senior diplomat over. He, as a former Middle Eastern scholar, only hoped that the country could get out of it alive.

He went back over to his desk, where a file of papers were waiting for him. They were communications from London, with urgent messages along the lines of "Make sure that the country doesn't explode". He knew that the reason why England was so worried about Insaanistan was because of the struggling economy and its implications on the oil trade. There was also, of course, the risk of terrorist attack, especially from Afghanistan, and England was always ready to help out.

He hesitated briefly, then picked up the secure phone, with an encrypted line to London. He had had to bring it with him. He dialled the Permanent Secretary to the Northern Department- with whom he was good friends with- and waited. When he got through, the conversation went as follows:

Mark: "Phillip, how nice to see... or, actually hear you."
Sir Philip Barton (Perm. Sec. at Northern Department): "Ah, Mark! Let's see, you in..."
Mark: "Insaanistan."
Sir Philip Barton: "Ah, yes. I chose you for the job. I knew you'd succeed."
Mark: "I've been here for a few weeks now, and I haven't found a single way to-"
Sir Philip Barton: "Don't worry, don't worry. We've found one. Now, I've just left a briefing with the First Secretary, and he tells me that we can send military aid over... not just to keep the terrorists in check, although that is one reason why, of course. We want to... the official phrase is Military Aid to the Civil Authorities. Essentially, our soldiers will assist the government in civil administration- in particularly, or rather specifically, the Covid pandemic."
Mark: "..... I see. Yes, I suppose it can work."
Sir Philip Barton: "Now, your job is to keep us up to date, so that we can change any plans if need be. Alright?"
Mark: "Alright. I'll see to it, bye."

Mark then grabbed a piece of paper, and a pen, and began writing.
THE COMMONWEALTH OF THE ENGLISH REALM
Dieu et mon droit

A Modern Tech state where the Treaties of Union are not signed, and England is reformed to the Commonwealth (whilst still keeping the monarchy) in the late 1940 - early 1950s.

“Hopefully they will allow us in.” The Sultana whispered. “Indeed.” He whispered back. This phone call would be one part of the battle. The other battle would be trying to convince the Parliament to join such union.

He hung up the phone with “Splendid, thank you. Salaamu ālaykum wa rahmatallah.” He turned to the Mosaratian Royals. “They said they’ll review the state and history of your nation and interview you before they make their decision. However, alhamdulilah, this means you’re at least being considered!” He sat back down and began drinking his tea.

“Allah, be praised” The Sultan and Sultana said in unison. “As for the state of our nation our nation is at peace and is one of the Aprican Tigers of the Aprican economy.” The Sultana said. “For our history our history runs parallel to Egypt except for these differences: Mosarat kicked the Woodlawnian occupier in 1922, The Sultanate exists in a constitutional monarchy, and Mosarat is at peace with and has a positive relationship with Kousel the nation most similar to Israel and Palestine.” The Sultan said.

James Mercurius along with security guards stands at the observation deck of the Armonia Nero Intercontinental Airport. He oversees the loading of supplies into a flight of massive converted Deck 3 aircraft, each of them having 6 equally massive engines. These supplies are headed for Insaanistan, masks, respirators, vaccines and other medical supplies are being loaded on, the sooner these planes go on thier way, the more people can be saved. This is just phase 1 of Erloanean aid. The second phase includes volunteer medical personel with experience against Covid and more supplies. At this time a task force is being prepared, and it will deploy, should the worst happen in Insaanistan. James Mercurius makes his way towards Gate 7, where a goverment airliner is prepared for him. When he arrives, he sees Riley Church and his family. James waves at his friends daughters, and they waved back. "Bye bye uncle James !" exclaimed the daughters, as Riley and his wife Lena waved at thier good friend. James and Riley shook hands and James left for his plane. Once he sat, he looked out of the window, he saw the first Deck 3 lifting off and smiled. With the hum of jet engines, his plane slowly began moving to the runway. In just a few moments, James Mercurius will be on his way to Isaanistan.

“Allah,” Yusuf said. “The parallels between our world and yours never cease to amaze me.” Finishing the last of his tea, he set the cup down. “Well,” he said, “I’d better return to working, but by all means, finish your tea and sweets before you leave. Salaamu ālaykum.” Standing up, he walked out the door to attend a meeting where he would be briefed on the next foreign dignitaries entering the country, as well as the situation in with the terror problem.

The sultana receives a call, though not exactly stated where said call is from, it does bear the area code of the Sharfari SR

Receiving the call, Abdul-Ghaffar Yusuf picked up. He put the phone on speaker phone, as he was now in the meeting room and thought it might be best for all his advisers to hear the contents of the phone call.
“Hello, Salaam,” he said. “Who is this?”
