Games 1 and 2 of Round 1 of Novemberfest ends: Webber and Aguilar advance to Round 2

After 1 hour and 46 minutes total of fencing, from 12:00 PM to 12:25 PM on Game 1, and from 6:00 PM to 7:21 PM on Game 2, the first two games of Novemberfest have now ended, with Samuel Webber and Paddy Aguilar advancing to Round 2 where they will compete against each other after Round 1 ends.

The first game of Novemberfest was between Samuel Webber and Christos Briggs, where Webber scored 15 touches with his fencing blade and Briggs 10 touches before the referee had declared Webber's victory (since like the Fencing League had stated, their matches are a first to 15). Though it was only a 5-point difference, during the early parts of the match, Webber had constantly denied Briggs a hit, repeatedly parrying every attempt at scoring that Briggs made. It was only in 14th minute that Briggs had started to catch up to Webber's 8 point streak of 10 points and managed to score a 6-point streak to 10 points but, by then Webber had already scored 4 more points putting him up to 14 points and when Briggs tried to score a hit 25 minutes into the match, Webber had successfully parried him eliminating Briggs from the tournament.

The second game was more tight and was longer than a usual fencing match (since the Cavirfite Fencing League doesn't put time limits on their matches), it was between Nikita Plant and Paddy Aguilar, during the early parts of the match, Plant and Aguilar were neck-to-neck, with them following a pattern of hitting each other then getting hit after missing a parry, but then 24 minutes in, Aguilar started to become more successful with his parries and begin a 6-point streak before Plant started to catch up, the two were now neck-to-neck at around 1 hour into the match, the two fell into the same pattern of hit-miss-fail that led them to their situation in the early parts of the match, at around 1 hour and 12 minutes into the match, Aguilar broke the tie and went on to do a 3-point streak against Plant before ultimately winning the match with a score of 15 against Aguilar's 12. Knocking Plant out of the tournament.

With Webber and Aguilar now advancing to the 2nd Round, Games 3 and 4 will begin to commence.

Briggs was a bit disappointed with his loss since he was a bit higher up in the leaderboard during the tryouts against Webber however he congratulated Webber at the end, as he was briefly interviewed with the Barnumberg Bulletin in which he said:

Well, I may have beaten him in the tryouts, but I'm more impressed that he has beaten me in the tournament proper, and I would like to say congratulations, Sam, your impressive victory in this Round makes me confident that you will win the next one; try to win against Paddy for me, man.

Plant was less surprised about his loss considering that he had scored lower than Aguilar in the tryouts but nevertheless in our brief interview with him, he said:

Well, Pad, I am not surprised you beat me there, I wish good luck to you in the 2nd Round, Sammy just beat Chris in this round despite their tryouts standing, yet he managed to beat Chris in this round proper, so try your best, break a leg, friend.

Games 3 and 4 will begin tomorrow between Tierney Guerra and Yanis Yoder for Game 3 and Tomi Lawrence and Vihaan Bellamy for Game 4.

Congratulations to Webber and Aguilar, and best of luck to Guerra, Yoder, Lawrence, and Bellamy

Day 2 of Novemberfest ends; Guerra and Bellamy advance to Round 2

Tierney Guerra and Vihaan Bellamy has advanced to Round 2, after they won Games 3 and 4 of Round 1 of Novemberfest respectively:

Guerra fenced against Yanis Yoder in a match at 12:00 PM in Zodiac Park and beat him with a score of 15-11, the match lasted for 26 minutes. Guerra and Yoder were neck-to-neck in the earlier parts of the match, but soon after the 12 minute mark, Guerra had started to gain a 5-point streak against Yoder, before Yoder at the 17 minute mark catched up to Yoder, the 2 then went neck-to-neck at the 22 minute mark with Guerra scoring another 4-point streak before his victory against Yoder was declared by the referee, 26 minutes after the game had started.

The second match of the day was between Tomi Lawrence and Bellamy who fought each other for 26 minutes until Bellamy had won with a score of 15-11, just like in the match between Guerra and Yoder, however, during the first 7 minutes of the match, Bellamy had managed to score a 7-point streak against Lawrence, before Lawrence scored a 4-point streak against Bellamy at the 8 minute mark. However, Bellamy was successful at parrying future attacks and the two continuously parried each other until Bellamy won with the score of 15-11.

With Games 3 and 4 of Round 1 now over, Guerra and Bellamy will now advance to Round 2, where they will face of each other in the second game of that round.

Day 4 of Novemberfest ends; Ferreira and Daugherty advance to Round 2

After 79 minutes total of fencing, Shahzaib Ferreira and Naeem Daugherty advance to Round 2 of Novemberfest, after they defeated Sohail Zuniga and Liam George respectively.

Ferreira and Zuniga fenced from 12:00 PM to 12:57 PM, they had both originally went on a back-to-back parrying fight before Ferreira went on to score an 8-point streak, 6 minutes into the match, putting him at 10 points in comparison to Zuniga, who had 2 points at the time, Zuniga scored a 2-point streak at the 36 minute mark but soon after that Ferreira at the 42 minute mark scored a 5-point streak, the referee declared his victory 57 minutes after the match started.

Daugherty was unique this time, he did not parry attacks to score his streaks unlike previous victors in this round instead he touched George with his blade in vulnerable parts of George's body (like the face or bottom of the chest) as soon as an open opportunity came

Minister of Defense announces the return of WMDs to the Cavirfite Military: "Nukes. Are. Back!"

The Minister of Defense has announced that the Cavirfite Sovereign Guard has begun storing weapons of mass destruction for the first time since the 2nd Barnumberg Accords. The letter provides that the only context for the return of weapons of mass destruction is the defense of Cavirfi's sovereignty and that none of it has to do with tensions with any declared rivals.

The letter also places a 90-day moratorium on the ordered construction of new weapons of mass destruction.

The Minister of Defense ended the announcement with a 3-word condensation: "Nukes. Are. Back"

Despite the reason for the return of WMDs, some are still skeptical about it, and think that the Cavirfite Government is just hiding the fact that they could be wanting to return to pre-Barn II rivalry with Crabaiaia. The Crabaiaian Government has yet to respond to the letter.

Day 18 of Novemberfest ends; Semi-Finals end; Aguilar and Curran advance to the Grand Finale

The Semi-Finals of Novemberfest has now ended, drawing the competition to the Grand Finale. In which Paddy Aguilar and Skylar Curran are its contestants after they defeated Shahzaib Ferreira and Tudor Hester respectively in Games 1 and 2 respectively.

Aguilar faced off Ferreira and defeated him with a score of 15-9, Ferreira had originally taken the lead with a 2-point streak to start the match, but Aguilar also scored a 2-point streak to catch up to Ferreira, the two went on a 3-point parrying spree until Aguilar went on a 7-point streak followed by Ferreira's 4-point streak, then 42 minutes into the match, Aguilar went on to score a 3-point streak, securing his place in the Grand Finale and his victory in the Semi-Finals, 48 minutes after the match began.

Curran faced off Hester and defeated him with a score of 15-11, Curran this time took charge first scoring 2 points before Hester scored 2 points after to catch up with Curran, but then Curran unlike the previous match, scored a 5-point streak in which Hester scored a 3-point streak in an attempt to catch up to Curran, the two went on a 4-point parrying spree, before Hester scored a 2-point streak putting him neck-to-neck with Curran but unfortunately for Hester, Curran at 22 minutes scored a 4-point streak securing his way to the Grand Finale, 26 minutes after the match began.

Aguilar and Curran will now advance and face each other off in the Grand Finale, in which the winner will get to claim the Novemberfest title, as well as gain the legacy as not only being Cavirfi's first champion fencer but Cavirfi's first athletic champion overall, in which his name will live on through Cavirfi's Sporting History.

The Grand Finale match is set to take place on Thursday, December 2 at 12:00 PM in Zodiac Park.

A transition period is set to take place starting today until the end of tomorrow, December 1.

We wish Aguilar and Curran good luck in claiming not only a title, but a legacy.

Novemberfest ends; Curran declared champion

After 22 days of fencing and hype, Novemberfest is now over, with Skylar Curran being declared champion after he defeated Paddy Aguilar in the Grand Finale with a score of 15-14. With that victory, he has now officially become Cavirfi's first champion athlete as well as Cavirfi's first champion fencer.

The Grand Finale match took place at 12:00 PM today, December 2nd. It lasted for 29 minutes, with Aguilar originally taking the lead by scoring a 6-point streak after which Curran scored a 4-point streak to catch up, then Aguilar scored a 4-point streak in retaliation putting him at 10 points, Curran caught up with a 6-point streak of his own, putting the two in a tie, Aguilar and Curran then went on a 4-point parrying spree before Curran scored the final hit making him the champion of Novemberfest.

After he had been declared champion, Curran celebrated by running around the convention center at Zodiac Park giving high-fives to whoever was willing to take it. At the post-match interview when he was asked about his victory, he said

Well, I know that fencing is not that big of a sport compared to what I personally call "the ball sports" or other martial arts sports like boxing or MMA but I'm more than happy that I made history twice as both Cavirfi's first champion fencer and Cavirfi's first athletic champion overall. I will be honest, Paddy [Aguilar] is more deserving of this than I am, I felt like I wouldn't win against him because of his large streaks at the beginning of the bout so I was preparing to congratulate him in my head in the middle of the bout, because; I mean...he was doing quite well in the first minutes of it, so when I won, I didn't know what to do, so I just let my mind go on "auto-pilot" and just run around the center like I won an Olympic Gold Medal or something. So yeah, that's all I can say about my victory, I'm not really ready to be the talk of the boys [other members of the Cavirfite Fencing League] for the next weeks or somethin'. But I will gracefully take this victory as it is.

When Aguilar was asked about Curran's surprising victory, he said

Well, like Sky[lar Curran] I thought I would win as well, but now that he's here bearing the medal, I would just like to say congratulations to him. He worked hard for this, he trained hard for this, he was Top 31 in the 32 qualified for this championship, so many thought that he wouldn't make it to this point let alone advance to the Quarter-Finals. When I faced him off in this bout, I also expected that I would win, because of how far I led the competition, but alas, here he is, he won the Grand Finale.

That to me, should teach everyone a lesson, that no matter how hard you fall, you can and must always climb back to the top. Sky embodied that lesson well throughout this tournament, he scored low in the tryouts yet he made it this far, and for that I congratulate him to the fullest possible extent.

With Novemberfest now over, the Cavirfite Fencing League plans for their next tournament which is set to take place somewhere in early 2022. It is not known how many participants will be allowed to compete but some are betting that it will be shorter than this one with 16 fencers allowed to qualify.

But for now, Curran is victorious and has made history twice, a spectacular feat, something that will live in the legacy of the Cavirfite Fencing League for years to come.

Skylar Curran recieves $1,000,000 and 2 Certificates from the Great Farmer for winning Novemberfest

Skylar Curran, the champion of Novemberfest, has received 3 prizes for his victory in the tournament from the Great Farmer, and 1 prize from the Cavirfite Fencing League.

The Cavirfite Fencing League sent the prize of a gold medal sealed in a tiny box to Curran's home in Bernchinshot, the prize was sent without announcement from the Fencing League directly to the public but instead indirect announcement through local media outlets in Bernchinshot and Cavirfi One federally. When asked about his award he said jokingly:

Well if this is real gold, I hope most sporting committees don't spam your inbox for requests of heaps of it.

The Great Farmer has also sent greater prizes to Curran, announcing the award during the earlier parts of a meeting regarding proposed legislation by the Chancellor. The prize package consists of prize money of $1,000,000 and 2 checkable certificates that each carry the honorific titles of "Cavirfi's First Champion Fencer" and "Cavirfi's First Champion Athlete" respectively stamped with the Coat of Arms of Cavirfi as well as a signature from the Great Farmer, when asked about this reward he said:

Ok now, this is some really poggers stuff I got here. 1 million is a bit too much in my opinion considering our league only has 210 members and operates in only one country which is this one, so I will uh decide to- uh what to do with this money, I am certainly not gonna keep it, I will probably donate it all to an organization that can better handle this much like a charity or other non-profits.

As for the certificates, yeah, I am keeping them, it's my victory, hahaha.

Curran won Novemberfest yesterday after he had beat Paddy Aguilar (who most predicted to be the champion) in the Grand Finale with a tight score margin of 15-14. Curran who had originally scored 31st in the tryout leaderboard went on to shock his rivals and even himself by winning not only Cavirfi's first fencing tournament but Cavirfi's first athletic tournament overall.

CR#7 becomes law after Wolf Pack approval and signature of the Great Farmer

The Wolf Pack has decided by a vote of 3-2 to legalize Chancellery Resolution No. 7, an order to initiate so called "Operation Flashpoint". After which, the Great Farmer signed the resolution effectively making it officially legal.

Operation Flashpoint is the planned operation to conduct a mass interception of refugees from the Chanic Councils of Crabaiaia by the Federal Government by conducting 2 important tasks: Homebuilding and Naval Interception

Homebuilding

The Federal Government plans to build 173,750 homes within a day, this is to provide housing for 695,000 potential refugees coming from Cavirfi to Crabaiaia. This project is expected to cost $18 trillion due to the tight schedules and the amount of construction mandated.

Naval Interception

This is the Federal Government's plan to intercept about 695,000 refugees at maximum and bring them into Cavirfi, through the deployment of 350 Naval vessels to the Chano-Cavirfite Sea and in 10 3-day intervals patrol the sea in search for refugees sailing from Crabaiaia to Cavirfi. This part of the Operation is expected to cost $200 billion.

The resolution passed the Great Tribunal 5-1, the Technocratic Council 75-3, and the Wolf Pack 3-2. Supporters of the resolution claim that this will "discipline" Crabaiaia into obeying parts of the Citia Treaties, a set of human rights laws that govern its signatories (which Crabaiaia is a signatory of 4 out of 5 of the treaties). While opponents claim that this will destroy the peace process between Crabaiaia and Cavirfi.

The resolution will be effective starting on Monday, December 6th. The Operation is set to end on January 6.

Operation Flashpoint begins

Operation Flashpoint after being legalized on December 3, will now take effect. This operation is a set of tasks by the Government to intercept as many refugees from Crabaiaia to Cavirfi as possible, through 2 programs; homebuilding for 695,000 potential refugees and naval interception of those amount of potential refugees. For which, 18.7 trillion dollars has been spent to pass the resolution.

Construction for the homes in the homebuilding program have begun construction on 7:30 AM earlier today and is set to end on 8:30 AM tomorrow. Meanwhile 350 Naval Vessels have now departed from the Port of Bleshe, they are set to conduct their first interception tasks tomorrow.

In the meantime, 1,210 Crabaiaian citizens have rushed to the Cavirfite Embassy in Laker City to file refugee status, due to the sudden influx of applicants in Crabaiaia, the Government has been urged by local and some international media to respond to the situation. The Wolf Pack has yet to respond or hold a press conference to this issue.

But for now, the Navy sets sail to the Chano-Cavirfite Sea where it will pick up Crabaiaian citizens, who want to call Cavirfi, their new home. Where they will coordinate with construction firms to execute this plan.

Parliament to hold session over Cavirfi's Operation Flashpoint

General Commander Overton has now released an issue of concern to all members of Parliament to be summoned to the chamber by tomorrow in order to hold a session surrounding the issue of Cavirfi's newly executed Operation Flashpoint.

The Operation was ordered on December 3, 2021 after a 3-2 approval by the Wolf Pack, Cavirfi's executive branch led by Great Farmer, Margeaux Tortune. The Operation mandates the construction of homes enough to fit 695,000 refugees from Crabaiaia to Cavirfi as well as the deployment of 350 Naval vessels and 10,000 Naval troops to the Chano-Cavirfite Sea. The Operation has began today at around 7:30 AM, with ships departing from Bleshe at 6:30 PM.

After the Operation commenced, 1210 people stormed to the Cavirfite Embassy in Laker City where they filed for asylum to Cavirfi, which they are allowed to under the Barnumberg Accords. However due to the massive amount of people coming to the embassy, a minor crisis ensued where security had to make sure the queue was in orderly fashion and where the embassy was stressed with the amount of people filing for asylum. This led to some media outlets to urge the Cavirfite Government to respond to this issue (which they haven't yet).

Following this crisis, the General Commander released an issue of concern to summon all members of Parliament for a meeting regarding on how to respond to the situation:

To all members of Parliament,

As General Commander I hereby summon you to Parliament so that we can conduct a session regarding a recent minor crisis that occurred outside the Chancery of the Cavirfite Embassy to Crabaiaia earlier today, where 1210 people stormed the grounds in order to file for asylum to Cavirfi following an announcement by the Cavirfite Government to begin operations to intercept refugees using the Chano-Cavirfite Sea route. As well as to conduct a meeting on how to respond to the Cavirfite Operation, you are requested to attend this session which will begin tomorrow, December 7 at 11:40 AM.

I would also like to request that 3 members of Parliament make their own proposals on how to respond to both the minor crisis and the orders given by the Cavirfite Government to commence the so called "Operation Flashpoint"...

The issue went on to say that once proposals are made, a day each will be reserved for debate on said proposal, voting on which proposal to enact is set to take place on Saturday, December 11.

It is unclear when the Cavirfite Government will respond to both the minor crisis that happened at the embassy as well as the General Commander's call to summon, but it is clear to some; for the 2 countries, it's back to the drawing board.

Parliament concludes discussions on Cavirfi's "Operation Flashpoint" with no resolution

Parliament has now concluded discussions on Cavirfi's "Operation Flashpoint" where the Cavirfite Navy is tasked with the interception of refugees in the Chano-Cavirfite Sea and the provision of housing for said refugees, which led to a minor crisis at the Cavirfite Embassy in Laker City. The discussions lasted for 4 days from Tuesday, December 7 and ended today.

During the discussion, 3 proposals were brought up:

More diplomatic discussions with Cavirfi

This proposal was brought up by an MP for the Territory of Amine which is undergoing a movement for more autonomy away from the Federal Government, the proposal called for another round of diplomatic discussions with Cavirfi to discuss the minor crises that occurred after the announcement of the Operation. The proposal includes that the meeting suggested be held in Laker City and discuss the issues of any refugees that could apply after the cap is hit, reparations if Cavirfi were to keep refugees that apply after the cap, and a regulation of Crabaiaian military activity.

Let Cavirfi handle the minor crises themselves all on their own

This proposal was brought up by an MP for Craftia whose voter base is more moderate on the issue of Cavirfite relations, this proposal if it passed Parliament would let Cavirfi handle all the issues that came with the Operation that took place here. The argument that Cavirfi initiated the operation without the permission or cooperation of this country is what led to this proposal.

Send a condemnation to Cavirfi over the Operation

This proposal was brought up by an MP for Civetia, this proposal would renew the condemnations that Crabaiaia had issued against Cavirfi over militaristic actions that had originally been released in July and expired in September with the enactment of Barn II. The argument for this is that Cavirfi not only reversed most of the peaceful decisions they made in September such as the return of WMDs and the deployment of their Navy near Crabaiaian waters means that Cavirfi is no longer committed to the continued movement for peace with Crabaiaia and that therefore, Crabaiaia should return to what they did before and condemn Cavirfi for military actions and if said actions are to continue, possibly blockades and sanctions will be considered.

The discussions for these proposals occurred over 3 rounds from Wednesday, December 8 to Friday, December 10. Today marked the voting session and here are the results:

(In order for a resolution to take place, at least one of the proposals must have at least 50 votes):

The Diplomatic Proposal got 25 votes

The Neutral Proposal got 23 votes

The Aggressive Proposal got 20 votes.

Because of this lack of a majority, none of the proposals were passed and therefore no resolution was able to be made regarding the problem, the discussions regarding Cavirfi's Operation Flashpoint as result ended inconclusively. General Commander Overton has stated that though no solution was reached to the issue that he would continue to work with the Cavirfite Embassy in Laker City personally until Parliament can finally pass a resolution regarding the issue.

But for now, the Government continues in deadlock over this issue and will continue to do so until either they or Cavirfi's government solves the minor crises that came along with it.

Cavirfi prepares for New Year's

As 2021 draws to a conclusion many across Cavirfi are now preparing for the arrival of the first New Year this country will have and that means celebrations all over the country.

In Barnumberg and Edgebol, firecrackers are lit for entertainment this has led to local law enforcement issuing warnings discouraging the usage of firecrackers in short range, however since most firecrackers are lit far away from others usually in the empty centres of otherwise busy streets so as of now no one has been apprehended for lighting firecrackers and such activities continue.

Meanwhile in other cities, cars drive in fast lanes blaring their horns in celebration of the incoming New Year while pedestrians blow small plastic horns as an alternative.

Stores all across the country hold sales to encourage last minute shopping for New Year's, queues are expected to be long and are expected to stay that way until the end of the week.

THE Barn has also announced that the Great Farmer will deliver a speech to the Technocratic Council to welcome the New Year tomorrow. The contents of the speech have not been released yet.

With that, Cavirfi is ready to welcome in 2022 as the first New Year's Day in its history.

I'm Fretz Mallsky, Happy New Year's.

Crabaiaians celebrate New Year's Eve 2021 to welcome in 2022

All across Crabaiaia, people are celebrating as the New Year is ready to roll around. In many parts of the country, there are a ton of parties, feasts, and other celebrations taking place to celebrate the last day of 2021. Stores as per tradition are holding last minute sales to encourage people to shop before the day ends and cars just like in Cavirfi are blaring their horns in joy of the conclusion of a rough year.

Even with some of the events that took place inevitably going to either repeat itself or continue into 2022, many are hoping that some changes even if insignificant, take place in their personal lives or in society at large.

With this optimism in mind, I am Kavan Vu and Happy New Year's

Great Farmer address Technocratic Council to welcome 2022

2022 has arrived in Cavirfi a couple of days ago and yesterday, the Great Farmer address Technocratic Council to usher in the New Year. She gave a speech about the 3 things that kept Cavirfi alive:

1. Talent - Without talent, there will be no one skilled enough to pick up the pieces and build a new nation

2. Sacrifice - The only thing you can lose and never recover is your own life, so fearing a loss from a wasted sacrifice will only prevent the good people of the world from achieving freedom.

3. Discipline - For the nation of good to survive, one must need discipline in order to avoid making bad choices that will harm themselves or others. Other people must also be disciplined to not make choices that will harm them or you. Because the opposite of pain is freedom, where there is no pain there is liberty.

The Great Farmer also called for Cavirfi to continue fighting for the liberation of all good of the world while maintaining the liberty of good in the mainland. The speech was then marked by applause by the Technocratic Council's members.

With the speech now over, a new chapter begins for Cavirfi. Operation Flashpoint is about to end and the Wolf Pack must respond to the more than 12,000 refugees stranded in Crabaiaia because of a minor crisis at the embassy when it was rushed all of a sudden on the first day or face another diplomatic crisis with Crabaiaia. Secondly, the Wolf Pack must address some of the wider social issues that take place in Cavirfi such as education and the decreasing disposable income.

However, now that Cavirfi has entered into 2022, the country will continue to operate as it should.
