Raudoyan State News

Transition of Raudoya from Republic to Monarchy

For the safety of the Federation, thousands gathered before the Executive Mansion as Ottokar Janecek held a live press conference. Dressed in full military attire and joined by the rest of the military high command, Janecek spot before the first ever filming campaign of the newly formed TeleRaudoya while his voice was projected into the homes of every citizen via Raudoya-Radio. Janecek spoke in regards to the failed December Conspiracy that attempted to overthrow the government and resulted in the death of Boris Simek. He asserted the conspiracy was a sign of a potential instability in the state.

With this Janecek revealed that he had authorized a survey of the nation, having Federal forces conduct petitions across the provinces conducted from 18:00 to 23:00 on January 1st and with the results counted found 97% of the nation in favor of the new People’s Constitution written by the marshal. “The people need consolidation for this nation to be strong and for all people of the Federation to live in safety and harmony,” stated the marshal. With the dangers of instability follow an untimely death, Janecek further asserted that “A new strong monarchical form government, will be better than every other form for the Raudoyans,” citing the strength of southern centralized monarchies.

Ottokar Janecek then announced that he would “accept the crown, for it is the will of the People”. At 17:00 the marshal spoke before the assembled citizens of the nation for the common vow: “Me, the King of Raudoyans, in the moment I am ascending to the Throne of the Raudoyan Kingdom and taking over the Royal Power, I vow infront of God to keep safe the national unit, state independence and the territorial integrity. I also will take care of the People’s Constitution and I will act exaclty according to the constitution and to the law, having in mind the welfare of my people”.

To institutionalize the Monarchy, the People’s constitution provided that the Royal Throne belonged to the oldest boy of the King and the heritage would continue in generations in direct line, male to male. If the heir died or lost the right of the heritage, the throne would inherited by his oldest boy. If there was not a heir for the Royal Throne, according to the articles 51, 52 the king had the right to choose another male as his heir to the throne, but in this case he had to have the approval of the newly formed National Parliament. The new parliament is to be comprised of the Legislative Body, made up of 200 elected delegates every six years and the Senate, made up of 20 appointees selected by the King for life.

With this the newly proclaimed Ottokar, King of the Raudoyans announced the dawn of a new era in the strength and prosperity of the nation for the safety of the people. Given the right to rule and lead by the calls of the people, he went out onto the balcony overlooking the crowds with his family and greeted the people as a new national anthem was played. As the new sovereign waved to the crowds, the members of the December Conspiracy, including the entire of the old corrupt and the Revolutionary Council were gathered on the tops of the Executive mansion. The dozens of men who had dared to plot against the will of the people had nooses fixed around their nexts and for their treason, thrown off, hanging and thrashing before the crowd until they were dead. The reign of King Ottokar has begun, and it was meet with thunderous applause!

Execution of Helena of Imarati!

January 7, 2133

As smoke cleared in the skies of Potedia, following months of bombardment and under sieges by the combined armed forces of King Besarion and his ally, Prince Voarok of Patuania, the dying bells of the cause of Grand Duchess Helena began to ring. No longer able to fight, the starved and out of supplies and ammunition, the forces of the king’s traitorous sister fell underfoot of the one true King. Grand Duchess Helena herself was found attempting to feel the city in a row boat, though where she would sail from the icy shores of Imarati can not be imagined.

The Grand Duchess’s co-conspirators and guards were shot on the spot while the Grand Duchess herself was brought before King Besarion and Prince Voarok, seated on horseback, bounded at her wrists. The King looked down upon the woman who had so long been his adversary. The traitor grand duchess had grown fat and sunken eyed over the years, her brown hair had turned gray and thin. Ghoulish compared to the dark, strong and handsome King of Imarati.

“Sister,” Besarion greeted her. But the traitor merely snarled. Only out of respect her royal blood do we recounter her blasphemous last words.

“You are no brother of mine! Besarion died in the storming of the palace, his brains dashed against the floor. My brother’s little broken body died before my eyes. You are not him. You are a specter, wretched thing, not even a ghost. You are a pale imitation. A Pretender! If I die here today, I die a Queen, at the hands of a traitor!”

These of course are but lies. King Besarion, though visibly displeased by the words of the grand duchess, snapped back, “No, it is you who dies a traitor sister.”

With this, at the King’s command, Grand Duchess Helena was brought before firing squad and executed in the ruined streets of Potedia. With the death of the royalist pretender, almost all of Imarati rests under the true reign of King Besarion. And tear it seems, has come to an end.

State Counsellor Fayola Obasey declares victory in Laja!

March 1, 2133

Seven months and nine days after the launching of the invasion of Lajastine, Operation Defensive Sword, State Counsellor Fayola Obasey, having avenged herself against Dulamah Al-Azizi, who assassinated her brother and predecessor, now avenged Turanda against Lajastine which has harbored him as she joined her military officials, Chief of Staff Adisa Oringo in their March into the Lajastinean capital city of Laja, already facing joint overpopulation and mass abandonment by various Lajastineans, fell to her forces.

State Counsellor Obasey, despite the ongoing efforts of Colfico and Genes in the mass evacuation of those seeking to flee the doomed city, ordered an attack on the Sultan’s palace and parliament building of the Lajastinean government, sparking mass panic. Government officials were captured, or in the case of those who fought back, were killed while the sultan, known for cowering behind his palace walls throughout the conflict, crumbled, just as his walls began to and surrendered before the State Counsellor.

Having captured the capital, and government and sovereign of Lajastine, Obasey within hours has a document in which she gained all that she had desired. The war was officially ended. The Lajastinean government was dissolved and the monarchy abolished. And lastly, the annexation of Lajastine was officiated. With this, Turanda more than doubles in size in both land and in population, gaining over a million new subjects, albeit a great many of which continue to flee to the nations of Genes and Colfico.

Obasey has ordered the Lajastinean parliamentary officials executed while the former sultan and his son have been arrested. A warrant for the arrest of Prince Angemar, the chief architect of the Lajastinean war effort, has been issued. Meanwhile the Turandan Army has moved to occupy the entirety of their vast new territory.

Tensions Rising Between Utquiagvik and The United States
Anchorage, Utquiagvik
340 PM, November 14, 2021
On Friday, Utquiagvik officially purchased the Northwestern Territories and the Nuvanut territory from Canada. This has caused an outrage in the U.S government, as they believe this land should have became American, and that America did not get enough insight into this purchase. In Reply, Utquiagvik President, Tony Iommi, said "well, that sucks for you. our relationship with Canada is our business." The U.S and Utquiagvik are looking at what could become another war as multiple American Men opened fire in Anchorage, killing 6 people.

Colficoan National News

National Assembly Approves National Space Exploration Act, National Organization for the Exploration of Air and Space, NOEAS Formed by Personal Signature of Prime Minister Arjun Wes

Image
Caption: The New Emblem of the National Organization for the Exploration of Air and Space, also known now as NOEAS

It is no mystery that these are troubling times, with tensions gradually climbing on the northern border, and the situation rapidly degrading in the east, there has been no shortage of bad news as of late. However, this time, it would seem that a bit of good news has leaked through, and what a piece of good news its seems to be. On the 3rd of March, 2133, the National Assembly gathered in the halls of the capital, with a new proposal, and a ground breaking one at that. Voting began at 13:00, and concluded at 16:00, and when the count came through, the decision had been made, the nation would provide funding and personnel for the creation of a organization dedicated to reaching and exploring space, marking the first organization of its kind to ever be founded within the borders of the Commonwealth. This organization, now officially called the National Organization for the Exploration of Air and Space, and has already been given facilities to be used for the development and testing of technologies, aircraft, and techniques relevant to the purpose of the organization, and funds and materials set aside for the construction of entirely new launch and testing facilities, of which at least one has already begun construction.

However, even with this new found good news, there are several military officials that have expressed concern that there are those whom may not approve of the sudden Colficoan interest in the stars, particularly those on the nations northern border. However, the Prime Ministers response to such worries was given firmly and thoroughly.

"Yes, there may be those whom do not approve of our ambitions to seek out our own destiny, achieved through scientific discovery and technological development, rather than conquest and dark deeds. However, we shall not be held back by the groveling, backwards amalgamations of a church, or the ignorant ramblings of a king trapped more than a millennia in the past. It is the duty of Colficoans everywhere to push forward, regardless of the dangers presented by those whom wish our destruction, to achieve a future worthy of our descendants for centuries to come. Those old, ancient monarchies and theologians had their time, they failed, now it is our time to reach out to the stars, and nothing will stop us in our journey to reach them. The stars may not be a Colficoan right, however, we will work to earn our place in the stars, and leave those who wish to hold us back behind in the process."

This stance seems to be shared not only amongst the national assembly, but throughout a significant number of military personnel, whom seem to believe that our Pataunian neighbor to the north has no right to tell the Colficoan people what they can, or cannot, achieve, even as those some soldiers stand vigilant at the border, standing as vanguards against the darkness slowly spreading throughout the northern nations.

Dasorresan-Raudoyan Royal Wedding

11 March 2133
Estresende, Dasorres

In a rare show of the royals of Dasorres, a lucky few were able to witness the marriage of Infante Martino, Count of Astorga the 24 year old cousin of the King of Dasorres, to Princess Kaska of Raudoya, the 28 year old sister of the King of the Raudoyans. The marriage, arranged by the Kings of the respective nations, headed by the Foreign Minister, Dom Americo Silvestre, on the part of Dasorres, is the culmination of months of private negotiation between the neighbors. A defensive alliance was pursued as far back as November, following the rise of the marshal, and the transformation of Raudoya into a kingdom had opened a new avenue of the formation of connection between the rulers of Dasorres and Raudoya. A royal marriage, along with a dowry of two million pounds, the shared operation and de-militarization of waterways navigatable that lay between them and the conducting of an annual war game alternating between Dasorres and Raudoya. The wedding was a mostly private affair, with a guest list of only five hundred guests of the elite of the two nations. The Royal Family of Dasorres, King Xoan and Queen Sofie were in attendance along with King Ottokar and Queen Tolla and the Raudoyan Royal Family. The Count of Astorga's brother, the Count of Santiago served as best man, while his sister, Infanta Mercedes was also in attendance. The couple, having met only ten times before their marriage, seem to nonetheless have gotten along well with one another and it is hoped they shall make a lovely couple and a strong seal on the alliance.

Caraintos AttacKs Turanda Unprovoked!

April 3, 2133

Outrage could be heard through the halls of governance as reports came in that Caraintos, the Republic's new neighbors to the north launched an illegal and unprovoked invasion into the Lajastine New Territories, the new official name for the republic's recently annexed lands. The Caraintese have occupied the city of Eiraota, pushing a frontline to the banks of the Genazarga River. The attack occurred two days ago when a Caraintese force attacked the republic unprovoked and without a declaration of war. The annexation of Lajastine has provided a source of rising tensions between Turanda and several of its new neighbors, who have protested the move, employing an embargo on Turandan goods, destabilizing the nation's export market. The crossing of thousands of Caraintese soldiers over the border however is a mass escalation of events, one that has led to a declaration of war by State Counsellor Obasey on the Kingdom of Caraintos.

Obasey's declaration of war has been met with a mixed reception, with many ready to defend against the attack, which reminds many of the aggressive stance of Lajastine. Some, such as magistrate Tiwalade Folama, have called for not only a defensive stance against the Caraintese, but for a counterattack. Others, in particular several veterans of the Lajaz-Turandan War that ended only a month ago, have been more reluctant in their support. With the Lajestine New Territories so newly added to Turandan authority, reports have filtered into Bendas of resistance by Lajaz people, particularly in the rural interior of the territories while along the coast there continues a vast flood of refugees, forcing stricter marital law placements.

Imaratian Worker’s Journak

Revolutionaries rise up in Easten Imarati!

April 20, 2133

Despite King Besarion’s victory over his sister, chaos continues to reign over the streets of Imarati as workers rise up in strike against the poor working conditions and loss of jobs caused by the the destructive campaigns of the civil war. These workers have been all but discarded by the new government of the king. Unwilling to have the government intervene in saving the livelihood of hundreds of thousands, the king has instead lashed taxes for his loyal supporters and forced his people into poverty as welfare programs have been slashed.

Workers protests have a long history in Imarati, with the miners strike of 2083 famously bringing the country to a standstill. These however are more than a strike. Workers have taken to the streets, asserting that the government must change. Across Eastern Imarati the workers seized government buildings and old armory cashes of the Red Council and the Unionists. As they seized control of cities, the military has been forced into a retreat. The revolutionary’s have taken to raiding churches and redistribution of the vast wealth horded in the King’s churches.

The Lajaz Refugee Crisis!

Image

May 15, 2133

Over 400,000 people have been displaced and/or emigrated from the Lajastinean New Territories over the last year as war raged across the nation. Roughly 1/3 of all Lajaz people. As Turandan forces move to secure the north against the invading Caraintese Army, the Lajaz people continue to trickle out of the nation, slowed however by the end of evacuation efforts by foreign expeditions. At the onset of the Lajaz-Turandan War last spring, the mass displacement of thousands, and then tens of thousands was internal and largely in the southern territories. However as the frontlines moved, it was pushed to Laja and abroad. With evacuation efforts led by the Colficoans, and Genoise, thousands have now emigrated from the Lajaz homeland.

Despite Genes being the initial haven of refugees, more and more have gone for lands farther a field, were refugees have been far more welcome, as opposed to icy Great Hyruke. In Colfico City and Aukusa City the vast majority of Lajaz refugees have arrived quite literally by the boatload as they look desperately for new lives abroad in lands with different cultures and languages. With the end of Colficoan evacuation, many have taken to routes over land north into Caraintos, sparking tensions with the Nomandic people who live in the area as the usually sparsely populated region becomes choked with people.

State Counsellor Obasey has been criticized for her neglectful policy over the fate of the Lajaz people. Obasey, an ethnic Jinosi, has largely not stood in the way of the hundreds of thousands fleeing, and with Jinosi people reportedly growing more and more disdainful towards their Lajaz colleagues. In Turanda itself the rise of discrimination against Lajaz people has seen a sharp uptake with many associating them with terrorists and traitors. This has led to some to fear violence against the Lajaz may be on the horizon, furthering more to go on mass emigration across the Southern Sea.

Queen Adriana visits Lajaz Refugee Camps

May 2133

As Queen Adriana celebrated her 30th Birthday, the young monarch, instead of attending a party or waving to crowds of her subjects, spent the day visiting the camps set up in the capital to host Lajaz refugees. The Queen, who has been uncharacteristically quiet about events across the Southern Sea, brought with her food, medical supplies, and new clothes as she visited the campsite set up on the estate of the Villa de Leans, the former home of the monarchy that tragically burned down over a year ago. The Queen, seeing the neglected estate serving as a vast empty space outside the city, organized it as a temporary place for the thousands of displaced people arriving in the country to rest in. Rows of tents fill the gardens that once belonged to the former king.

Queen Adriana, accompanied by her mother and father, the Count and Countess of Godey, her brother-in-law, Prince Louis, along with members of the Royal Household in the personage of Miss Amayah Henderson, visited the camp, handing out life kits to people. Dressed in simply trousers, flats, a blouse, and a red floral scarf around her hair, the Queen was almost unrecognizable. The Queen was a vision of charity as she sat down and spoke with dozens of people, wishing to learn of the personal plight of the Lajaz people. The Queen, who has herself had experienced the uncertainty of being forced from one's homeland and found her new roots in Colfico, has promised to provide a better life for those who reach her kingdom.

The Queen thanked Chamberlain Skotnicki and Admiral Valhalen for their service in leading the evacuation of so many from Lajastine, and spoke of her desire to see people of Lajastine able to live safe and prosperous lives in their homeland. The statement, while heartfelt and diplomatic in its wording, appears indicative of the non-interventionist stance of the moderate current government. The camp itself is a mirror image of a similar initiative conducted by her uncle, Prince Amereyson of Alencon and Celiwe Magaira in Aukusa City. The Queen briefly hinted at a potential plan she is developing for a long-term relocation project for the Lajaz refugees who seek to make the country their permanent new home.

Crown Princess Marie gives birth to a son!

17 May 2133

Colficoan Crown Princess Marie and Prince Louis welcomed their son Sunday morning at the royal estate, delivered by a team of the royal family’s medical staff in Colfico City at 9:21 am local time. At a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Prince Louis announced that his new son is 20.5 inches (52 cm) long and weighs 8 lbs and 11 oz (3,944 grams) and that he cut the umbilical cord himself. The baby’s name will be officially announced on Monday.

Update:

18 May 2133

For those missing the Queen of Colfico’s gowns and tiaras during her birthday on 2 May, have no fear as Queen Adriana was is full royal splendor as she happily addressed the world with her nephew, announcing that the child had been named Alexander Kaleikaumaka Louis Charles Hanau’muamakahale Godey. The name holds great symbolic meaning. Alexander is a name of great importance to both the Godey Family and Colfico, as seen in the CNS Alexander. The name is born by several relatives of the Queen, her brother, Prince Alexander (third in line to the throne), her uncle, Prince Alexander of Alencon (heir to the Alençon Duchy) and her beloved grandfather, Prince Alexander, Duke of Alençon (prime minister of the Celestial Empire)

Kaleikaumaka is a traditional Mantaran name, a nod to the Godey family’s roots in the Mantaran archipelago. It means precious child. Louis is naturally in honor of the child’s father, Prince Louis of Great Hyruke. Charles too is in honor of a Hyrukian royal relative, the late Prince Charles, Duke of Cambridge (father of Queen Mary of Great Hyruke). Along with the release of the child’s name, Queen Adriana issued her first Letters Patent since becoming Queen, in which she granted her nephew, Alexander Kaleikaumaka the title of Prince and style of His Royal Highness and asserted his place as 2nd in line to the Colficoan Throne. As the first member of the House of Godey born in the commonwealth, Prince Alexander Kaleikaumaka represents the true roots of the young dynasty and the Queen has declared May 17 a national holiday.

King Arthur and Queen Mary are set to visit Colfico City to meet their first grandson, along with Louis’s brother Charles, Prince Royal and his wife the Duchess of Rossendale and their daughter, Princess Caroline, cousin of the newborn prince. The Prime Minister of the Celestial Empire and his three younger sons are also due to arrive next week to meet with his first great-grandchild.

New Hiatara V-01 Utility Vehicle Exploding in Sales

Image
One of the V-01s Now Being Seen On and Off the road

It has been a relatively short time since Hiatara, a newcomer to the automotive industry, opened up its new plant in the city of Kiloawa, employing more than 450 people. Now, it seems that their work has come to fruition, in the form of a remarkable new vehicle, if not the most ground breaking in terms of speed or fuel efficiency. What makes this new utility vehicle special however, is its simplicity and ruggedness, necessary qualities in the vastly underdeveloped road system in much of non urban Colfico. In this regard, the vehicle has set a new standard, featuring a very durable and reliable construction, and powered by an equally reliable 3.4 liter Inline Six Cylinder internal combustion engine, giving the vehicle a respectable 135 horsepower, and 216 pound feet of torque, making it a very handy and very useful vehicle for medium duty towing of trailers and other objects.

The upstart company has found some difficulties keeping up with demand, as the vehicles popularity has skyrocketed, and this has been made doubly so by recent interest in the vehicle by the National Colficoan Army as a replacement for its current fleet of utility vehicles. However, this only bodes well for the company’s future, as there will likely be more designs unveiled by the now successful upstart in the future.

Out with the New, in with the Old

Image
Caricature of Idi Senghore in the Oba pattern

Shock, awe, and outrage was felt through the halls of governance as Idi Senghore the Ejojade, a controversial and prominent member of the Chamber of Deputies entered in the congress at the head of the Restoration Party dressed in the new uniform of the nation's 11th Congress, recently approved in the Civil Service Decorum Act. The new uniform is the oba pattern, considered by many, especially in the south of the country to be the national dress, as a formal version of everyday clothing. The oba pattern is a cultural costume that consists of a Conateh-style jacket with nine buttons, a fi ipari siasonaa (a lower body, wraparound cloth), knee-length socks, and dress shoes.

The sight of which sparked nearly the entirety of the Socialist Party to get up and leave their seats in the chamber in protest, with only three members remaining seated, which has earned them the outrage of their colleagues. Meanwhile, President Baturou Jammeh, head of the Liberty Party, voiced his disapproval of the form of dress adopted by the Restoration Party-dominated chamber. General Birom Kouyate, the controversial aging veteran of the First and Second Narumada Civil War has controversially suggested forcibly removing those wearing the oba pattern.

For our readers abroad, one might wonder, how has the fashion statement of a bunch of politicians sparked a constitutional crisis? The answer lays in the history of the oba pattern, developed by designer Karafa Jallow for the commanders on the royalist side of the first civil war. Following the end of that conflict, it was adopted as the court dress of King Badara, and his successor, King Banja. As such, it took on the identity of the nation and the monarchy. Even after King Banja died childless and the country again fell into civil war it remained popular. It was however under President Kebba Nyang, victor of the second civil war and President Jammeh's predecessor that it was rejected in favor of foreign Western-style business attire.

This however has been rejected over the years, especially in the south and east of the nation, where the Restoration holds vast sway, seeing the suits as an affront of traditional Narumadan fashion, considered to be a vital part of one's identity as the people are known for their use of elaborate multi-colored weaving process and the loose wrapping of fi ipari and fi pari siasonaa that defines fashion for most Narumadan men and women alike. The nation's textile industry was the loudest in its protest and Senghore has certainly heard them. Senghore, nicknamed by former president Nyang as Ejojade 'the jade snake' for switch sides and fighting against Nyang in the second civil war, but still winning many of his supporters and himself a pardon at the end, entered the Congress only last year.

Senghore's entrance in the Chamber of Deputies came amidst an unprecedented winning of 51/100 seats for his Restoration Party, the centre-right , marking a sentiment shift towards a nostalgia for the days of Banja, largely likely sparked by the continued rise in organized crime throughout the country and the rising debts of the government to private military contractors. Senghore's ushering in the return of the oba pattern in a nation where clothing has deep meaning, serves perhaps has a preamble for the designs of the Restoration Party to win control of the Senate in 2135 in the next election cycle and more pressingly, in the incoming Presidential Election. Senghore has all but promised to challenge Jammeh, and could finally break the Liberty Party's hold on power.

National Colficoan Army Unveils CK-8 Crocodile Armored Car

Image
Caption: The CK-8, During its Unveiling Demonstration Performed by the 4th Armored Cavalry, Former Unit of Sebastian Merrimack.

It is no secret to those within the ranks of the National Military that the equipment, and especially the vehicles, found in use with the National Colficoan Military, can vary wildly in both quality and effectiveness, with some being top of the line and state of the art, with others being improvised or rushed measures introduced during the trying times of the Colficoan Civil War. Many of the National Colficoan Army's light tanks and armored cars are a stark example of this, many having been rushed into production, and some even being nothing more than a modified, uparmored version of already existing vehicles at the time. While these vehicles were sufficient to complete their roles at the time, they leave much to be desired on a modern battlefield when compared to many of their contemporaries. The National Colficoan Army seems to have decided to change this some time ago, and likely had made the decision not long after the end of the Colficoan Civil War. This was made clear when, at noon, the National Colficoan Army performed a live demonstration, which mainly included familiar and existing vehicles, including the vehicles previously referenced. However, what stole the show was a new arrival, an eight wheeled armored car with a large 75mm gun and a new, unique, oscillating turret. The vehicle handled the track better than most of the vehicles present, and while it is unsure what its top speed actually is, hit speeds of eighty kilometers per hour on straight sections of the test track, and is likely capable of much more on paved roads.

The Vehicle also performed a live fire test, using several retired tanks, a few light tanks and even a CM-4S Medium Tank, as targets. The vehicles gun dispatched each of the targets with ease. at one point a round passing through one side of a light tank, and exiting out the other end and impacting the dirt behind it. The vehicle, now being called the CK-8, or Crocodile, marks a substantial leap in capability compared to its predecessors, whom are, at best, armed with a much smaller 45mm gun, which would, at best, scratch the paint of contemporary medium tanks, let alone heavier main battle tanks and assault tanks. Here, this vehicle can not only deal with medium and light tanks, but has the potential to destroy even the heaviest of tanks with proper tactics and a well placed shot, making it an indispensable tool for the units that will be receiving these vehicles, and, combined with the vehicles excellent speed, makes many to believe that this vehicle is a true game changer for the National Colficoan Army, as well as for expeditionary forces, where the vehicles lighter weight, but still substantial firepower, makes it an excellent vehicle for use with amphibious and airborne forces. While exact numbers are speculative, the National Colficoan Army has placed an order for four thousand examples of these armored cars, and it is possible that more may be ordered depending on their performance. However, there are those that worry that this vehicle, while a leap in technology, may be seen as provocation by Colficos neighbors, especially those on its northern border, with whom tensions have been at an all time high, although it is equally likely that the vehicle was inspired by those same tensions in the first place, with many generals and commanders in the army rightfully considering the northern border a dangerous hot zone, where tensions could flare up at any moment.

Cecily Leal calls for a Vote of no Confidence

20 July 2133

Opposition leader MP Dr.Cecily Leal of the Liberal Party stood before Parliament today as she called for a vote of no confidence in prime minister Sophia Cambolton, Duchess of Cambolton. Leal, who had opposed Cambolton fiercely over the last three years, and known for her militaristic and expansionist views and policies, such as the expansion of the Hyrukian Territorial Waters and support for the Southern War, called for the prime minister to resign, parliament to be dissolved and new general elections to be called. Leal pointed out Cambolton’s lackluster foreign policies and “unpatriotic neglect of the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.”

The motion quickly sparked debate as Johanna Kein argued that the Liberals under the Leal would see Great Hyruke wage war, as Leal has previously spoken highly in favor of intervening in the Caraintese-Turandan War on the side of the Caraintese. “She will fill the entire sea with the blood of our neighbors.”

“If it is Hyrukian ships that command those waves,” Leal respond without hesitation, “let them be as bloody and as red as my liberal heart.” She turned to her fellow members of parliament and said. “Anything for the safety and prosperity of our people!”

This statement lead to a rise in chants of ‘Hyrukia Rules the Waves’ lead by fellow liberal MP Cassandra Cheverton, which rapidly spread across the House of Commons to thunderous acclaim till the Speaker was forced to bang their gavel several times before returning order to the chamber and bringing the debate to an effective end. The resulting vote was a landslide.

The motion for a vote of no confidence passed with an astonishing 113-35. With such a massive turning against Cambolton, the Prime Minister as agreed to resign, and formally ask King Arthur to dissolve Parliament and hold a general election in September. Till then Cambolton will continue on leading a caretaker government.

Cecily Leal elected Prime Minister

2 September 2133

As the results of last night General Election were finalized, it quickly became clear that the Liberal Party had achieved victory, winning 82 seats in Parliament to the Conservative’s 59 seats, and the Moderate’s 5 seats and the newly asseated People’s Labour with 2 seats. King Arthur called on the Leader of the Liberal Party, Dr. Cecily Leal to form a new government as Prime Minister of Great Hyruke. Leal has announced that she shall soon be appointing her cabinet, and is expected to take a radical new direction in national and foreign policy.

Leal has already ordered the mobilizing of the Royal Navy as she announces Great Hyruke’s entrance into her conflict between Caraintese and Turandan forces, on the side of the Caraintese. A conflict some are dubbing the Second Southern War. Military policy and increased spending has been a key part in Leal’s promises to the public and appear to be first in order to be handled by the government. Meanwhile Johanna Kein and Conservatives has take up the position of His Majesty’s Most Loyal Opposition.

Revolutionaries cease Imarati!
Besarion, a King in Absentia or in Exile?

September 17, 2133

Over the last six months unrest has held Imarati in a death grip as the eastern part of the country fell entirely under the control of revolutionaries calling for greater protection of the workers of the nation. As the iconoclastic forces pillaged churches and attacked priests, the government attempted to halt their spread, but it as been for not as revolutionaries attacked members of the governments in a vicious massacre.

Priests, bureaucrats and other officials still loyal to the King were dragged out of churches and offices by mobs a thousand strong. While many suffered only humiliation and physical attack, with tar thrown on them, others met far worse fates. Chief amongst them was Father Melikishvili, chief religious figure in the country was dragged out of a cathedral and stabbed, shot and struck with a brick, the last of which is believed to have killed him.

The mob proceeded to then desecrate the priest’s body in ways too gruesome, graphic and inhumane to be printed, though included amongst the crime was that of acts of cannibalism. With the death of Melikishvili, the government of Imarati has effectively ceased to exist. This is exasperated by the absence of King Besarion, who, after visiting Derita in spring, has thus far refused to return to Imarati.

Some in the country have called for the king’s return, believing him to be the only one to restore order. Other monarchists have called for the restoring of a true heir to the throne, the elderly Abbess Eleneka Abkalelia, first-cousin of the late Grand Duchess Helena. More radical voices have called for a entirely different but unspecified form of government. Any hope of any governance at the moment however has fallen apart as anarchy sweeps the nation once again.

Horror on the High Seas!

Image

September 19, 2133

28 are dead following the destruction of the cargo ship, the Alawoewe, sparking shock and horror in Bendas. The ship, personally launched by State Counsellor Fayola Obasey on a planned circuit route from Bendas to Jima and Genes City before returning did not making it out of the Bay of Bendas before it was fired upon by an unidentified but suspected Hyrukian military vessel.

State Counsellor Obasey gave permission for the ship’s course in defiance of Prime Minister Cecily Leal’s threat of attack all Turandan ships. The newly elected Hyrukian prime minister, infamous for her militant aggressive approach to the international community, quickly made an enemy of Turanda as she joined in the Second Southern War between Turanda and Caraintos.

It seems however that her words were not mere threats as an unseen vessel fired on the Alawoewe without warning, resulting in a large explosion that was seen from the Lajastinean coastline. With only two of the cargo ship’s thirty member crew escaping the inferno, both heavily injured, State Counsellor Obasey has expressed outrage and promised to avenge the loss of Turandan lives ten fold.

An Imperial Engagement!

20 September 2133

Emperor Andeja III announced the engagement of his son, Crown Prince Andeja to Princess Oruk of Patuania. The pair of royals, cohorts at Ezikwizalo University, who were seen hitting it off during the Crown Prince’s birthday ball. The Emperor was pleased to announce that the young couple had grown close over the last several months.

While touted as a love match, the engagement announcement was accompanied with a distinct air of militarism. The Crown Prince and Princess Oruk were brought out onto a balcony and waved to crowds below as a military parade was conducted through the streets of Gaosa. A show case of the Celestial Empire’s intentions to join a military operation in the North.

It has been an open secret that the Paras of Patuania and the Celestial Emperor have shared political views, and with the King and Queen of Imarati living in effective exile in Aukusa City, some suspect that the match may be in part motivated for Deritain intervention in Imarati, a mission that the Emperor seems eager to go ahead with.

With the Crown Prince still underage by imperial law, the pair shall have a long engagement, with a wedding not scheduled until 2035 when the heir to the Imperial throne turns 21. Till then, the princess has been given new apartments at the palatial quarters at Ezikwizalo while a the Celestial Empire welcomed a new Oatuanian ambassador, while Baron Cebo Yoyo has been appointed as the new Deritain Envoy to Patuania.

The Restoratist News

Eleneka Abakelia: True Heir murdered in Derita!

September 28, 2133

As chaos continues to burn across Imarati, Colonel Teimuraz Saralidze has risen up in Soikon as a loyalist to the True Heir Line, a monarchist movement seeking to restore the rightful heir to the Imaratian throne, thus being called the Restoratists. Col. Saralidze however have already been dealt a great blow as the true heir, the seventy year old Princess Eleneka Abakelia, Abbess of Ville de la Beaussy, first cousin of the late Kaikavus I and thus first cousin once removed of Grand Duchess Helena, was found dead in her bed at the nunnery of Beaussy Cathedral, where she had lived for nearly forty years in the countryside of northern Derita.

Despite her age, the Princess-Abbess was reported to have been in excellent health, and had largely been forgotten by the wider world until Restoratist soldier and champion Giorgi Elenadze had tracked her down following the regicide of the Grand Duchess by the Imposter. The Princess-Abbess had reportedly made her appeal for aid by the Celestial Empire to restore order to Imarati, but she was met with silence. Silence, it seems that hid scheming as it is suspected that the Imperial government worked with the Imposter and Patuanian Paras to assassinate Eleneka, and with the engagement of the Crown Prince of Derita and the Patuanian Princess they struck.

Numerous Restoratists in the Celestial Empire have also seem to have gone missing since the Princess-Abbess was discovered dead, officially from natural causes, but Elenadze and a few loyal followers have managed to escape the borders of the Celestial Empire, en route to Genes. Why? For there the true line continues. The Princess, before she became an abbess, married and had two daughters by Prince Kristjan (son of Anna, Princess Imperial of Derita). While one daughter reportedly moved to Great Hyruke and supposedly serves as a madame of a profitable pleasure house and casino, the elder of the two, Anna, married a Genoise prince.

Thus the Restoratists cause lives on in hopes of a long lost heir to the Imarati in a Genoise royal, to sail across the sea and save the nation from destruction, bloodshed under either the anarchy of the mob or the tyranny of an imposter.

Gosataborgian-lead Borean Peacekeepers land in Ondassi

Soldiers cross the Gosataborgian-Imaratian Border

October 3, 2133
Prince Ragnar, General Leif Westermark and the Earl of Carrick lead the landing forces of the Borean Peacekeepers, a group of 2,000 soldiers from the Gosataborgian Army into the port Imaratian city of Ondassi. The triumvirate launched the landing following several hours of aircraft flying over head of the Eastern part of Imarati with pamphlets explaining the reasoning and purpose of the peacekeeping forces, and encouraging civilians to comply and cooperate with soldiers and arriving officials.

Prince Ragnar, the official leader of the group announced from aboard the Vasta, the massive warship originally built in Colfico and bought by the Grand Duke to defend against piracy on the Northern Sea, has announced the promise of supplying water, food and supply essentials to those in need in areas under Borean Peacekeeping Operation Zones.

Emperor Andeja opens the Cereweto Dam!

10 October 2133

Emperor Andeja III cut the ribbon opening the Cereweto Dam in northern Derita along the Saizon River, the first of three planned dams to be built along the river designed to be arched gravity hydroelectric generating facilities. The mega projects began four years ago as part of a Celestial-Colficoan agreement as part of a series of economic development programs.

The Cereweto Dam, once full, is expected to produce over 2000 MW of electricity to homes across the region, particularly to the city of Oran, the large rapidly growing special administrative zone that sits on the border between Derita and Colfico. The project was notably aided Cin being finished by Lajaz refugees turned migrant workers.

As the empire continues to focus on large infrastructure projects it’s expected that more jobs in construction, engineering and design will grow. Architecture and civil engineering have for decades been considered prestigious fields and it seem that shall continue to be the case as the Imperial Family oversees mass modernization and improvements.

The Celestial Expeditionary Army sets sail for Imarati!

13 October 2133

18,850 soldiers aboard twenty transport ships and aided by a fleet of frigates, corvettes and destroyers left Aukusa City early this morning as the first in a planned three waves of forces set for Imarati, lead by Emperor Andeja III himself, to restore peace and order in the mountainous northern kingdom. The mission is tasked with strengthening the rule of King Besarion, though it may be noted that King Besarion does not seem to have any intention of accompanying the expeditionary force.

The Expeditionary Army has not be deployed in decades, with most military activity being limited to minor skirmishes, protecting the coast from pirates and focused on defending the borders of the Celestial Empire. It has been said that with each emperor of the Volonte Dynasty some are peacemakers and others are conquerors. This personality difference and approach to policy was famously seen in the father and son relationships of Azizi the Great and Azizi the Conqueror, Gitte II and Andeja I and Andeja II. Now it seems Andeja III seeks to take up the mantle.

Emperor Andeja claims islands for the Empire

Image
The landscape of the Gates of the North archipelago

20 October 2133

As the Celestial Expeditionary Army sailed north for Imarati, the lengthy journey into the steely and infamously cold waters of the Northern Sea was halted as the fleet anchored at the so called Gates of the North, a small archipelago of uninhabited islands. The Emperor ordered the landing of his forces on the islands, promptly claiming them for the empire. With the Gates of the North under his newly arrived military occupation, they have been turned into the prospective base of operation for the expeditionary forces in the military operation in Imarati.
