Democrats lost Virginia but held New Jersey, the Manchin Sinematic Universe continues to play reruns of Build Back Better v. Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, and the GOP keeps filibustering anything important that manages to make its way to the Senate floor. Meanwhile, on the Court's side, Abortion rights are heading for two showdowns (Texas and Mississippi, respectively), there's a major gun case coming up, and then finally the Court will decide whether we get a livable Earth at all. In addition to all of that, December will bring us back into confrontation over the debt ceiling, a government shutdown, and highway funds, all of which expire at the same time.
The questions, as always, hang over our heads: Will the filibuster be reformed? Will we get that infusion of social spending after all? Will Trump declare his candidacy? Will the ghost of Hugo Chavez stop stealing elections through Italian Satellites? And most crucially, how will all of this affect The Midterms?
