Clouds really billowed and thickened, any remaining glimmers of sun were gone by now but again people seemed little deterred by it with Kino still being rather packed with visitors just huddling together under umbrellas or oversized palm leaves for shelter. Down the windy, messy, disorganized village eventually he would come across the correct row, it was now the matter of finding the right hut where Suneplena was. Still same place she was early, finished with her quota for the day meant she could just look out for him. Gracia too kept a bit an eye out but she was playing and watching the bullfrogs. Everyone else was inside awaiting the rainfall and enjoying company and whatever food they wanted to eat. When thunder started up "Gracia, come" She called for her daughter whom did listen and ran right up to her side. "Here comes the storm, mama!"

"Yes it's starting up now" She patted her girl's head "I hope he's already made landfall or he's gonna be on the angry sea!"

"I'm sure he has, besides it should be no issue for him just as it was little for us" Another loud crash of thunder made Gracia embrace her mother tighter. Poking out with a lantern in hand was Nigeria again but now dressed, surprisingly in a pink yukata "Oh any sign of him yet?"

"Oh not yet but I still think any moment now. Kino can be pretty confusing for a lot of people. Nigeria, you look cute!"

"Ah thanks, Sunny. I figure he might be a bit put off so I thought I'd dress. I picked this up in Aurora when we visited during last year's festival! Plus you've seen how [ur=https://i.imgur.com/XUBupSa.jpg]Amika[/url] is dressed. I'm sure the Goddesses will understand me being hospitable to our guest."

"That's very sweet of you."

"What are friends for Oh by the way, you sure you don't mind us all hanging around?"

"Are you kidding? You're my good friend, Nigeria, I want him to meet you! And your Fili."

"Awww this is why I love you!" She hugged Sunplena "Oh wait, is that him?" Sunplena could spot a figure making a hasty run up to them

Kino, Corona

As I walk along the busy streets of Kino, my eyes are drawn up to the skies thickening more and more.
This year's Festival is going to be different. I add as I stop in my tracks, before taking out my two bagpacks and opening one to take out my sleeveless, military rain poncho.

After putting it on and rearranging my two bags with one in front and one behind, I laugh a bit to myself as I surely look like a big armless form with only its legs and head visible. Nonetheless, I continue on my way to meet my beloved.
After a few more minutes of walking, I turn a corner and spot my Sunplena in a hut, with her little Gracia, as well as another woman and a little girl.
I guess this must be her friend Nigeria and her daughter, that she told me about. I think with a smile, before starting to jog towards them.

"Good morning Ladies". I say with a charming smile as I enter the hut. "Excuse me to bother you, but I've been told to meet a certain Sunplena here. Do you know where she might be?" I ask with a half-serious, half joking tone.

Sky Reavers wrote:Liam drinks another glass, enjoys the feeling of the moment and continues his story -"Well, I just sold my share of loot and had some nice vacation. Then, I continued to earn money in various ways. Like before. Steady job didn't exactly interest me, so I fixed appliances, cause I was good with tech and tools, did some freelance jobs, I remember how I was in pest control for a few months... Maybe not as spectacular as the battle against terrorists, but still there were hell of a lot of stories. Like, once I just went to remove that wasp nest on a dare, wearing only swim trunks. Got lots of stings and three vodka bottles. Then, got bitten by a big ass 1 kg aggressive rat... Then... there was a basement... so disgusting and full of vermin. After clearing this place out, I left this job. I'll tell ya' mroe if ya' want.

And I told ya', that we, Sky Reavers have a sixth sense, when it comes to booze! We also know, how to drink into super courage but still control ourselves just enough, that we can do various things requiring coordination, or even intellectual approach. We also know the Way of the Ganja. How to channel cannabis effects into something positive. And combine with alcohol. We know special techniques, that let one to trust his instincts and intuition to guide him through the challenges. Be they intellectual or physical. Even through fighting. After some more drinks, I could show ya' some of such techniques... if ya' want. Exclusively peaceful ones of course. I wouldn't like to upset the guests, especially if you have been and are being such a nice host. Just come up with some interesting challenge."

She couldn't help but chuckle a bit nervously "You are quite a character aren't ya?" she was a bit split if she wanted more or had her share but well she wasn't the type to scare easily and morbid curiosity was taking hold. "I guess so, y'all must got a good sense of the taste of nectar and considering how much you've already had and still have a coherent sentence with me, you know how to hold your liquor in the end. I'd toast to you, but I don't drink on duty. Perhaps by this evening though, that's when I had it over to my sister. Then, I'd like you to show me your stuff." He was pretty interesting, yeah this could be a lot of fun.

Cartoonia wrote:“Oh, yes. That will be all from us thank you”. With their meal done, they headed out of the inn. Al listened to the places that were available for them.

“The village square,” Al starts off “should be a good way to get the common resident as well as the foreign tourist. Plus it allows Yukari to take photos for the newspaper. Perhaps after, we can also go to some of the neighboring villages, where we could get a more of a sense of the impact of tourism. As for demographics, I suppose that young folks, like adults and teens, would bring a great perspective on the festival and their thoughts on everything. If we can, I think we might get a child's perspective of the festival as well. Perhaps we could also head to this temple for Madokamism and perhaps the Kitan public baths”.

"Very good then. Why don't we head out to the Village Commons, then temple, round our way back to the Kitan by evening time. I'll have some transportation for us by tomorrow to take us to a neighboring village." She reached into the pockets of her yukata pulling out a stack of Island Credits to pay for the food. "Very good, let me lead the way." She urged them to follow her along and from the Kitan up the busy streets into the heart of the village where so many folks were congregating, young and old, families with children, couples without, individuals, young children together, men, women, visitors from other islands, visitors from abroad plenty of folks to get a glance at. "If I may, Miss Yukari. A good picture would be of the Statue of Madokami and Homukami. The Goddesses we worship and of course the whole purpose of this festival. Take some pictures, allow me to round up a few people for you."

"No, no!", I hurriedly explained, "I'm here with my aunt for a few weeks, we want to go hiking in the area, but today, it's festival time."
I smiled. I was far from being a celebrity (yet), but I knew a few personally. Being the ward of Macha Taise had its perks and having a Dad, who worked for BI, too.
"But if you want to go somewhere... would you mind me tagging along?", I asked, hope evident in my voice.
The question of how it was to live in Launceston or Bodmin was not that pressing on my mind anymore.

Blodwen Canatol, of Cefnffordd Descent.
Kochi, Hoshino.
I looked in quite evident surprise at the woman at the stall.
I had mumbled, in Tafod, the ancient language of the Spiorad, to myelf and to whatever that what I was eating was, and she understood it. Well, this place was full of surprises if this wasn't a fluke she pieced together from context.
So, still speaking Tafod and not English, I asked: "You understand Tafod?"
The melodious, song-like cadance was often confused for Selkie, but it was not, and it was certainly different from English.

Celina Riar of the Tribe of Monaghan.
Port Aya, Hoshino.
I smiled and put a hand on her hat, petting her.
"I am sure, that we can arrange something.", I reassured the girl, then looked to my Mam: "Do you think, that you could convince Milord Aonas to have a guest for a lecture while we have Miss Fumiko and Kaori over?"
"Sure.", Mam agreed with a smile, then explained to the assembly: "Milord Aonas, or rather Arcane Priest Aonas Promhide of the Tribe of Wexford, is the headmaster of the Leuda Secondary Seminary, a priest school, which is attached to our home university." She looked at the Matron. "I am sure, that he would be thrilled to have you give a guest lecture."
I gave Kaori a wink.

Siana Gualla of the Tribe of Cork.
Port Aurora, Aurora.
I nodded.
"I understand, where you are coming from, but don't worry.", I said and smiled, "While it is not my cuppa tea, no Selkie worth that name would take offense to you two being homosexual, or even that you are married. For us, it's a non-issue, who Searc and Cion gave love to, the important part is, that there is mutual love."
I let a beat pass.
"I could list, from the top of my head, half a dozen celebrities or famous people, who are currently alive and either homosexual or bisexual and in a relationship with someone from the same gender.", I added, then shrugged, "My roommate loves reading gossip rags."

Kochi, Hoshino

"Oh hiking, how fun!" Hina said "I know you two just hiked a ways to get up here to Kochi but you might want to double back to Aya to go up Tabby's Point. Gives such a beautiful view of the ocean and the port city below. But there's also some good little mounds nearby or just trekking through the jungle if you feel adventurous. Don't worry there's nothing really dangerous here on the islands, at worst you'd have a bit of unpleasant snake bite but you'll be fine."

"We wouldn't mind you tagging along, not every day we get a guest to show around. We're probably going to walk around the village, window shop and go to the local playhouse for a matinee. We're all dressed up for the festival so not looking to be strenuous today." Yurika said

"We could even fit you into something cute if you'd like," Ryoka offered "A yukata, swimsuit, anything that catches your eye."

Kochi, Hoshino

"Just a bit. I've traveled pretty far and wide to become a culinary master and have picked up a few languages here and there but my old village drew me on back again so here I am. Hardly conversational but enough I can squeeze by in a pinch.

Port Aya, Hoshino

Everyone smiled and the Matron nodded "A fellow theologian, I'd be delighted to be a guest and speak if so invited so thank you very much for the offer. It's not every day I get to go out and see the wider world beyond our little island here in the South Seas, isn't that right, Kaori?"

"Mmmm!" She nodded with a big smile

"Thank you" Fumio said with a nod and a glow on her cheeks, being invited somewhere was pretty nice actually and anything that made Kaori happy, made her happy.

Port Aurora

The girls smiled "Good good!" Kana replied "Glad to know we'd be welcome in general"

"Yeah thanks for all the helpful tips and advice," Haru smiled and nodded then continued, "so please allow us to buy your drink before we all part ways! And we won't take no for an answer."

"You better agree, once Haru makes up her mind about something, she won't back down."

"Well it's how I got you to marry me, isn't it?"

"I guess you're right about that."

"Well I think we've all pruned up, or at least the two of us have, you can stay a little longer if you like, don't let us rush you, but I will buy you your drink, ya hear." She winked at her while stepping out and helping Kana out with her.

This seems rather promising, and this is only the beginning of Liam's travel to the new, foreign land. He'll definitely enjoy the hell of this place. - "Yeah! We are just like that, chaotic and wild folks who enjoy the life of freedom to it's fullest! That's a common trait in us, Sky Reavers, to hold the booze and control it. And yeah, on duty... That's a soldier speakin' in ya'! Like you are a sentry on a lookout... I can return later, when your sister changes you on post. Or, you can be more specific and about what stuff ya' would like to see me doing here and now, for example, ask me some complicated philosophical question, or have me dance something exotic... to see some of my abilities... cause I don't know, where I might end up in the evening. After all, there are so many thingies to do besides trying to drink eachother under the table."
Sky Reavers are retconned Skyhooked. A bunch of crazy, wild everpartying semi-anarchists, who are resistant to cold, heat and diseases, can can proccess booze like hell. MT/PMT tech. Wanna know more or have a request? It's here: https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=505973

Remember, the fact, that we are semi-anarchy doesn't mena, that ya' can go around and rob random people. We still got law and order, loose as they are.

...that was not an answer I expected.
There were not many speakers of Tafod, a few hundred, and you could count those, who were in the business of teaching it on one hand. There weren't correspondence courses either.
It was a language spoken virtually only by the Spiorad and a few other people, who we were close to.
"Who taught you?", I asked and took a bite, my curiosity piqued.

"Though, with some luck, we can organize you some brave men to ride with you behind them.", I said, then grinned at Kaori, "And maybe even a brave young man to show you a bit around Leuda."
"Someone wants to play matchmaker?", Mam teased.
I smiled with a shrug. I had an idea about who to ask, if he would agree was a different question.

"I'm in luck then." I reply as I kiss her back, before we separate and I take away my poncho and two bagpacks off me, and put them down on the ground.

"Thanks Sunplena" I continue as she welcomes me back, before waving at Gracia. "Hey there girl I reply, before grabbing her in a hug. "You've grown up, haven't you?" I ask with a smile, before turning to the other woman standing with Sunplena.

"And you must be Nigeria if I'm correct? Joel Miller, nice to meet you." I say with a smile and a happy tone.

Out on the village commons, the bustle of the festival was certainly in full swing. Yukari frequently takes photos of her surroundings, taking the best photos to be used in the papers. She has the most natural talent to capture real life. Miss Yoshimoto told her about the statue in the square, to their Godessess Madokami and Homukami, like many statues back home. It seemed absolutely perfect for photos, especially with some folks who were willing to be in these pictures.

“Wow! That would be wonderful Miss Yoshimoto, thank you”.

"Well all right, sounds like we're all gonna hang for a bit!" Yuriko leaned back in her chair and grinned a bit "Stick with us, we'll show you that even a sleepy village like this one can still have fun. And we'll make you look so cute, you'll have a million photos to show off when you go home and your friends will go 'aww you look so adorable~'"

"All right, all right, Yuri, I think she gets it." Ryoka chuckled pulling out money for their tab to pay. "Well either way, I think you'll have a fun time here. It's great to have a visitor up here."

---

"A lady from Animalpolis, Sakura Shin her name. I reckon she's from your part of the woods but she wouldn't tell me much about her life prior to the islands, just taught me a few words I'd catch her mumbling in under her breath or in her sleep." She suddenly did a double take at the wording of that last bit, "Hehe I don't mean it like that, just we've been bunk buddies a few times on the high seas. Now she's a little more settled, running a nice pub over on AP."

Port Aya

"H-horses?" Fumio was surprised "I-I'd think I'd rather stay on foot if it's all the same." Though the thought of handsome horsemen certainly did make her blush.

"Horses?" Kaori also thought her eyes rolled upward like she was staring at a daydream cloud above her head as she too pictured some of the same imagery her mother did, the only horses she'd ever seen were in picture books. Her cheeks glowed and eyes wavered in curiosity and anticipation. Plutona had to giggle "Kaori if you get to ride horseys that'd be sooo lucky!"

"C'mon mama, you always tell me not to be afraid right? So don't be afraid if we do." Kaori

"Mmmm I suppose you're right, my girl. This all does sound rather interesting..." Again Fumio had to sort of avert her gaze a bit to hide her face being red from just thinking about it all, it was like straight from a romance novel and if there's one genre the islanders love, it's romance.

"You say people mostly go around on foot and by horse." Plutona noted, "I guess that's like here, where people mostly go on foot, or by boat. Speaking of boat, how long a sail is it to The Freelands?"

"mmmm I guess that depends a lot on the kind of ship, the weather and everything else." the matron replied sipping down the last of her tea.

"Mmmm" Plutona shook her head "Weather at sea....No fuuun at alll."

"aww but it's the most exciting." Saturno cooed, stroking her daughter's cheek "And we need not fear the work of Her Lady of the Seas and Night we travel on her domain, expect for her to make us her playthings." She chuckled just a bit wickedly at that. "I'd be inclined to go myself, but I wish not to impose on you so don't worry about us."

"Yeeeah don't worry, just bring us something back, Kaaaori."

"Promise, isn't that right Georgie?"

"Right you are."

"Kaori, Saturno, Plutona...." Fumio had to pull back "We may be getting ahead just a bit, it's still much to do before we can make that happen."

"Sure sure, but don't let these winds of chance go out of your sails, dear Fumi. The Great Goddesses spared you and your Kaori four years back in exchange for your eye, which means you still have a great purpose on this world."

"Mmm." she nodded in understanding of her friend. "atta girl."

"Sure sure, whenever you want, sorry again to be a little pushy and eager beaver. All right, we'll let you soak in peace , enjoy the bath, it's the finest in the world." Haru winked back and with her partner the two disappeared into the change room together and rather quietly leaving Siana to be alone again with just her thoughts and the sound of running water and general ambience for company.

Sky Reavers wrote:This seems rather promising, and this is only the beginning of Liam's travel to the new, foreign land. After all, there are so many thingies to do besides trying to drink each other under the table."

She pondered a moment "Well, complex philosophy you want, go to the Temple and see what any of our Priestesses have to say, including the new Acting Matron of the Great Temple of Aurora. Music you want, go to the town commons, usually plenty of good people there playing and dancing to music. Want to take a memento home, shop, want to soak in a hot bath, go to any hot spring. And this evening, spend it with me." She gave a bit of a bashful smile, rare for her to do so but this man was certainly interesting.

"MMMM!" She nodded raising her hand to shown just how many more centimeters she'd grown since their last time together "One day, I'll be as tall as mama" which was saying something, not like Sunplena was particularly tall either. Nigeria in the meantime was now getting introduced "Oh that's right! It's nice to meet you and might I say, you're really as handsome as Sunplena has explained. Oooh drop dead gorgeous even, hehehe wouldn't you say so, Filipinia?"

"Mama, really?" Filipinia looked both amused and annoyed as her own girlfirend also stood up beside her "How do you do? I'm Filipinia, this is Amika."

"Howdy, welcome to Corona. Or welcome back I suppose. Eeeh." She giggled a bit flustered. Nigeria spoke again, "Hope we're not crowding you and Sunny and Gracia here. Just the rain came on so intense we thought it'd pass but guess not."

"Since joining the Net-Net Brigade" Sunplena proudly declared of her own nickname for making fish nets. "Nigeria is such a close friend. Well you know that I've told you all that." Turning back to Nigeria, "Don't worry, we'll have our own alone time, I'm sure of. Anyway, come in and sit, we'll catch up a bit."

"Leave it to me." It took her not even five minutes to round up a handful of volunteers spanning all groups. "Let's see first off, this is Miku Nakano and her son, Yuta."

Miku nodded with a smile, she was still pretty young, only pushing about 28 her son was 9 and bright eyed. "Good day. I-I heard you wanted to ask us some questions. We'd be glad to answer."

"Mmmhm," her son nodded with a bright smile "Hey that's a camera, cool can I see through it?"

"Yuta, be mind your manners now, son." She gently reminded him taking a seat at the base of the statue.

"All right, all right, Yuri, I think she gets it." Ryoka chuckled pulling out money for their tab to pay. "Well either way, I think you'll have a fun time here. It's great to have a visitor up here."

"Doesn't ring a bell.", I said and shook my head. "Well, if she doesn't want to tell you about her life before the Islands, there will be good reasons for it... eternal life can be an eternal curse to some. I won't bother her."
If that Sakura Shin wanted to meet her kinspeople again, it was easier then ever these days. But she would have to come, not the other way around, otherwise, it might tear open wounds again.

Well, it was certainly neat, but nothing beat the great bath that were the oceans themselves. Second place, and easily first in relaxing bath houses.

"You're not crowding at all, the more the merrier." I say with a sincere smile before taking a seat like everyone else.

"So, how have things been since this whole diplomatic mess with Kyrenaia?" I ask, with a bit of worry in my voice.
"In the Malditas, all of us reservists were put on high alert 24/7. Believe me, working in the heat with a plate carrier, AR, gear and all is manageable but not pleasant in the long run. We were fearing we would have to come in to help in defense every day. Boy am I glad it's over." I say with a small sigh of relief.

"Well," Hina leapt up from her chair with great excitement, "we promised you shopping and a chance to try something local on for size, so let's head there first. Only a stone's throw away! And I mean that literally" She smiled taking her by the hand to lead her on over to the shop, indeed it as just next door, not even a walk. Opening the door, right now it was actually quiet in here, a busier hub like in Aya the shop would probably be crowded but for now it was actually empty. "Yamanaka?" hina called out. Emerging from the back wasn't a middle aged woman but her daughter the same age as Hina, Ryoka and Yurika. "Oh it's you Kaguya!"

"Hey! Mom decided to go out so I'm holding down. What brings you three oh and a visitor! Well welcome! You're a new face here."

"We thought she'd might like to try a yukata on for size see if she'd like to wear one while here."

"That can be arranged. Anything you have in mind, Miss? We have many pre-cut ones to chose from that should fit most sizes, and you as well but if you're looking for something highly custom, it's doable but it will take me a few hours or a day depending on how custom you like. We have traditional long styles which go all the way to your ankles and we have shorter cuts that go to or above the knees. All accessories are included, footwear and socks alike. Here we have several lined on the wall, see if there's one you like or again I'm happy to make you one from scratch. Festival specials too so this is a great time to buy! And if there's anything else outside a yukata you might like, I'm sure I can help you with that too."

"Oh I'm sure you're right but you asked and I answered. So you're here paying us fine folks a visit huh? Glad tourism hasn't dropped off like all the worrywarts were saying it would. Well maybe it's not quite as busy this year but eh, whatever. Want some more?"

"Boy if it took you a while to reach here by plane it must be time to reach you by sea. Well it's fine though." Fumio nodded "It's been a while since I've set foot on the seas but well I can still manage it. I think."

Kaori's eyes sparkled about more talk of horses last thing she was concerned with was the potential of a long sea voyage but it would probably be worth it in the end. "Yay horsies sound fun! None around here, only oxen and I don't think you could ride those like a horse."

Time passed Minutes dissolved and ticked on by. The door slid open again with Ren yet again poking in. "Begging your pardon Ma'am, but your time is about up, that is unless you'd like to pay for an extended time. Just keep in mind we're getting a build up so it would be likely you'd have to share again so it's up to you."

"Thanks." I reply to Nigeria as I gladly accept the tea she offers me. "Indeed, e are glad too that it is over, especially since the ongoing War with the Empire of Geonal our nation is a part of. Aside from what we have in the Malditas, we woould not have been able to commit additional forces, unfortunately." I add as I take a sip, before letting a beat pass.

"Then again Nigeria, from what I've heard, calling each other's name would have been a valid reason for the current's Sultana predecessor, Kian-Sultan, to bring out the big guns and reduce Aurora to a pile of ashes." I say with a bit of a sober tone. "But don't worry though, nowadays, even if the Kyrenaians had tried it, they would not have gone far. We have recently brought enough long-range, anti-ship missile batteries to keep many fleet at bay. And I'm not talking standard missiles, but hypersonic missiles, which go faster than sound and are very difficult to intercept for a carrier or cruiser defense systems."

"But indeed, we are glad too it's over now." I finish with a smile.

It went fast, that we got into the clothes shop and were introduced to Kaguya, the owner's daughter and clothes saleswoman. My cat ears twitched, my tail coiled a bit as I smiled.
"Call me Nia, please.", I requested and pointed in the general vicinity of the yukatas, "Would you mind, if I were to look around a bit first?"
There was one, a dark blue one, which had caught my eye and looked about my size... and far more comfortable then the hiking gear I was currently wearing.

"Yeah, sure.", I said with a smile and a nod, took out my wallet again.
I knew, which prospective drop in tourism she was referring to - the Kyrenaians. I had heard, that the fallout was affecting the tourism industry in the Sultanate, though not as heavily as one could think. Apparently, a major cruise line had lost a lot of money as they had planned to send one of their major ships through here during the festival and had to reroute her... and refund the tickets, which they had sold.
Loosing a lot of money in the process.
Indeed, for the Islanders, it could have been a lot worse.

"I think, I'll stay and pay.", I said, "And I don't mind more company... though could you see to it, that it is a cute lad or two?"

"Oh, very good then." Miku smiled nodding at her son. "Well, we're from nearby Suzuka Village, it's just a short ways beyond here on the western coast, pretty small little village. This is our first time in the Port city, we thought it'd be exciting and different way to spend our festival."

“Ah, very interesting” Alphonse replies as he writes, as Yukari shows young Yuta around her camera.

"mmm I suppose so." She shrugged, last thing she felt qualified to talk on was this.

"Well sooner we all put that behind us," Sunplena said "The better. For now, it's Festival Time and we give thanks to our lovely Goddesses for giving so much good to us this year. I wonder, how your sis' is doin' and feeling right now? I bet she also has her own unique recipe of booze! Or perhaps, you both not only make nectar, but also some tasty and fillin' dishes, maybe even made some new recipes for cooking?"-Liam asks as he prepares to depart and explore until the evening. he is clearly curious. He thinks about visiting local temple first, as he is intrigued by the thogught of talking to Acting Matron, whoever she was. Perhaps, he could learn some interestng concept. Intuitively.

"Indeed we do, good sir. Food and drink to make any trip meaningful. You'll get to meet her when you return for the evening. Meantime" She took the empty glass "Consider your drink on me today. Anyone with your taste who can figure out our secrets deserves a free drink. Even more so if you keep our secret. We are in business after all."

She smiled and bid him farewell. If the Temple he was interested in, it wasn't much further from where he found the bar plus hard to miss with many people coming and going from normal citizens to the obvious priestesses who worked there. If it was the Matron he was interested in talking with he was also in luck because there she was outside the entrance both to greet and welcome people and well keep it tidy from leaves, sand and other derbies that found itself over. Given the lovely breeze today, plenty of that going around. Noticing the traveler, someone she certainly hadn't seen, "Welcome stranger. Nice to have visitors from outside the islands."

Being a good sales person is helping a customer but also knowing when to just leave them be to look for themselves. The other three stood by as well to let Nia explore a bit, they too did a little browsing and shopping of their own. Kaguya went to check on Nia yet again seeing her look intently at one on the wall. "You like that? I'd be glad to take it down for you and let you try it on. It's a short cut right above the knees but I think you'd look really cute in it. Not just saying that."

"Here ya go" She served up a bit more for her another mix of fish and beef wrapped in a glazed palm leaf, a sub for a tortilla shell. "What brings you here? I mean here up to Kochi anyway? Most tourists tend to stay in the busy ports like Aya rather than trek up to a little village like this one. Not that I'm complaining that there's someone new to eat my food!" She chuckled.

"Hehehe, certainly, Miss, I'll do my best." Ren indeed would do her best to accommodate her request, it took some creative shuffling and a bit of doing but eventually Siana would be joined by another pair, these two brother and sister but the boy most certainly single in his early 20s now, the girl younger, late teens. "Ah pardon the intrusion." He said to her as they entered no doubt disturbing her few minutes of blissful quiet again.

"see, I told you we should have gotten here sooner." His sister chastised him and he chuckled it off "Okay okay, Komari, I guess you were right, early bird and all that."

The girl, Komari gingerly stepped into the water and spoke directly to Siana admiringly having to get up rather close due to her poor eyesight "We do apologize if we're disturbing you, all the other rooms were full and the attendant did offer to knock 10% off if we shared. I was fine waiting but my brother is a cheapskate here."

"Komori" He sighed, such a handful but family is family. "And now I just realized I might be making it worse by talking, aren't I?" he chuckled nervously, maybe it was the steam and hot water but this girl certainly was attractive.

Yuta was super interested in the camera "I've seen them but never like this. Only from others pointing. It's super cool looking! Is it electrical or do you use film?"

Miku continued "Well every year is a little different but we do like to always pay our tributes at our local shrine. Spend time with our neighbors. In our village we always gather for a big dinner to eat together. Some more family traditions we like to do, well my husband is a fisherman so he'll take us sailing. He's still out to sea right now actually, so it's just me and my son this year. It's a bit unusual for this late in the season but we had a late start this year. Uh sorry, I guess that might be more than you need or want to know huh?" she smiled a bit bashful, actually it was pretty fun but she still wasn't used to this. Her son certainly brought a smile to her face seeing how curious he was with the camera.

Also heared about your religion in a saloon back home. We are an open society, so it's possible, that some of the followers of Madokamisim also live in our country. As far as I know, Madokami and Homukami as central deities which represent day and night apparently, and witches, which represent sins. Marriage is seen as a spiritual sacred union not only in life, but also in afterlife. And your afterlife concept is more lenient than of some other religions in terms of damnation... I wonder, what ya' gotta do to deserve a damnation? Sure, ain't the most positive question, but I am curious."

Liam is prepared to listen and ask about the matters of local faith. He has a feeling, that the ideology of his country would be a mixed thing in religion's books.

"About the rain, on a less religious topic, we have been using something in the Imperium for quite a few years now known as cloud seeding.
We use silver iodide which we send into clouds by either planes or ground rockets, which will then help make the rain fall earlier than expected. It is very useful in agriculture, to avoid hail which can damage cultures pretty badly. It is also used to clear skies ahead of a big event for example, if we want a sunny day for our National Day on June 15th." I explain.

"There are certain customs and I'm happy to help you along to learn them. Don't worry too much, you're foreign just showing a sincer desire to wear one makes anyone happy. Come, I'll help you along. Can you three watch the counter for me?"

"No problem!" Hina agreed "But be sure to give us a glance at what Nia looks like.

"Of course of course. Come with me." Ushering her along into a small alcove to change secured by a dressing curtain Kaguya walked her through all the details to help her get acustomed "Yes, for the most part it fits you! This one is super cute. I'll have to make a small cut for your tail but that's super easy, I've done it plenty for passerby's from Animalpolis. Oooh you are adorable if I do say so! Well how does it feel? I can make plenty of other adjustments if you need and we do have others if you want to try others but if you ask me, I think this is your color! I'm more of a pink and red girl myself but I know what looks good."

"Aaah hiking huh? Glad to see someone appreciates the natural beauty of this place. There's plenty of good little places to go that can give you a decent view. Not the most rugged terrain but for an adventurer like you, I'd say you've come to a great place to take in the serenity."

"Oooh!" Kaori nodded in understanding "We do that here too! The big kids help teach the little kids plenty. Plutona there helps me out! "

"And Kaaaori does veeeery well at it tooo. But I still think she's a plenty smaart girl. People underestimate us because we're slow but we know some things tooo."

Suddenly the otherwise mostly quiet Saturno decided to interject, "That and anyone who dares mistreats my little Plutona or little Kaori can get a little taste of me if you get what I'm saying" She giggled rather wickedly. "Our girls are so close, Kaori might as well be a second daughter to me."

"Plut, is my best friend!" She cleared her own throat again in her false male voice "Don't forget about me"

"Oh sorry, Georgie, I won't forget. Georgie too also my dear friend!"

"Ahaha see now this fine lady gets it! A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Siana I'm Arashi. And well you know Komori my younger sister."

"Yes, it's good to meet you for sure." Komori nodded sinking down into the water along with Arashi, whom continued the conversation "We just got into town believe it or not. We're from Akamori, which is a village way up north of here on the north coast. Spent the night in Aren, which is the nearest village from here, set out after breakfast."

"It was nice and quaint too if you want a little peace and quiet from the busy port. Just saying otherwise you'll find plenty to do here in Aurora as well. Maybe don't hang around bro though, he's a school teacher who'll talk your ear off about anything"

"Ahaha I guess I have that reputation but I love my job."

Afraid I haven't heard much of Sky Reavers then again I only recently came to the Port myself so, I'd be interested, it's only fair for the reading you've done on us that I take time to listen to you. Damnation is a curious topic because to be honest it's hazy. We know there's not a lot of grave sin but most of us clerics agree, the road to true damnation is to be unreasonably cruel and uncompassionate. I'm not saying nobody will ever have a cruel or dark side to them, it's only nature that we do but most of us keep it balanced with the kindness we all possess. To lose all sense of compassion is to lose one's moral light."

"Indeed, it seems like someone is cooking something really good." I reply with a smile as I sniff the air a bit.

"Although it's important to note it is not enough to stop something as big as a thunderstorm or hurricane."

Everyone listened rather intently and reactions were a bit mixed Nigeria in particular furrowed her brow at the thought "Controlling the weather is to mess with the Divine's will, don't you think? Seems like it'd bring a lot of trouble upon us if we dared tried such a thing."

"Perhaps so but it's like he said, Nigeria, not enough to stop the truly big things The Dark Lady conjures so maybe not that bad. It's interesting though but kind of well scary? I mean weather control does sound like a tool of warfare something that'd be too easy to use against a person."

Nia Gwyalen, of Cefnffordd Descent.
Kochi, Hoshino.

The yukata felt quite interesting, especially as the lass ran me through the steps of putting it on and wearing it - sure, my tail was a little issue, but she had already offered a solution.
I made a few steps, turned, then nodded.
"Other then the tail, I think, that's a pretty good fit.", I said and glanced down.
There was a certain elegance in the garnment, a certain simplicity. It was not the Geansai or a Dracht, but something else. And while the Teressians didn't mind foreigners wearing their traditional costumes, no amount of sincere interest would net any foreigner any brownie points, if he wore Geansai. Certainly a severe difference.
"Would you mind, if I were to go out and show off to the others?", I asked - not calling them friends yet deliberately.

Blodwen Canatol, of Cefnffordd Descent.
Kochi, Hoshino.

"Serenity, huh?"
I took a bite and chewed slowly.
"Where I am come from, I was once known as Blodwen the Burner.", I said, retold. "Remember when I told you, that eternal life was sometimes a curse? That is mine. To live with the memories of receiving silver and gold for a job well down... by burning down villages like this. In frozen tundras, in forests of needleleaf and of hardwood, on plains and prairies, along shores, inland, in deserts and at rivers... I was Captain of a formation of mercenaries, of raiders and burners, our job to deprive our enemies of supplies, to fight the Little War." I let a beat pass. "When I came out of the forest, I told my relative not that I saw a cute village and serenity of living. I called it a perfect target of innocent villagers with no preparations."
I exhaled.
"Luckily, these days are long past.", I said, "My adventures are now mostly on the back of a motorcycle or with my relative or both. No bow, no arrow, no lance, no torch. Yet... I doubt, that I will find peace here - or serenity." I smiled. "We will see, if there is ever a place, where I can find peace."

Celina Riar of the Tribe of Monaghan.
Port Aya, Hoshino.

I giggled.
"My brother is the same.", I told Saturno, Plutona and Kaori. "He would protect me, if a somebody tried something bad and he still does." I leaned over. "I might be a big girl now, but he still has an eye out for me."
"And I am happy, that he does.", Mam interfered, the looked at Saturno, "Siblings stick together, no matter what. And my two stick together as if someone glued them together."
I blushed.
"I wonder what she'll think, if Aonas ever finds a cute lass...", Mam wondered out loud.

Siana Gualla of the Tribe of Cork.
Port Aurora, Aurora.

I smiled as the two lowered themselves into the water - a teacher, huh?
"Passionate about the job, huh?", I said and moved closer to his side. "That is nice. I might not be a teacher, but I am quite enarmoured with my job as well... I train to be a naval officer and aviator." I let a beat pass. "I arrived here today as well, though not with any sort of naval vessel, but by flying boat. Here for a vacation, you see?"
I let a beat pass.
"But please, just call me Siana. No Miss. And no Ma'am either." I shrugged. "I think, that I'll be called that enough in the future."
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.

“So I guess you’ve seen a camera before haven’t you?” Yukari asks Yuta, while Alphonse continued on with his questions.

“So, besides this year then, what are your usual traditions during this festival?”

“My camera runs on film” Yukari replies, “I carry lots of film in my bag, just in case I need to reload” she continues, showing the child inside her bag of film. “This particular camera was produced in Cartoonia, not having been produced by other nations in years. I like using cameras like this because it feels more authentic, and more astheticly pleasing for readers of our newspapers”. She continues showing him the camera while Alphonse continues to jot down what Miku was saying.

“Oh no, it’s quite alright” he smiles. “I think its nice to hear everything to get a nice perspective on things I believe. Now, last question. How important is this festival to you and your family life, especially in these crazy times of uncertainty?”

"Don't worry Sunny, controlling weather very precisely to turn it into a weapon is for now, and will continue to be for a long time, the stuff of science fiction." I reply as I rub her arm a bit to appease her scare.

"As for what you said Nigeria, I asked the same question to a Njörd priest back home a few years back. Njörd, just so you know, is the Star of Weather and Wind, our main deity on the matter. And he told me that it was not messing with the Divine's Will, but rather our own answer to protect ourselves, and that we humans, even though we have been created by a divine intervention, do not need to follow blindly the will of the Gods, especially when they put us in danger. We respect and follow them, sure, but we are not mindless slaves, that's not what they created us for."

"Indeed not, probably the simplest of any religion, at least all the ones I know of. It's certainly possible thoughts and ideas have seeped into our values as well. We've had periods of being occupied or trading with neighbors over the centuries so there's always that. I certainly believe revelation isn't always a direct message from the Divine herself but from the Divine's work around us. We see it always in the weather around us, the beauty of our environment, the will of all people around us. We've been willed to work together and live in harmony with one another despite some differences among every island. Just call me a wide eyed optimist perhaps."

Riding up on a simple bicycle now was her younger sister "Sis, I'm back, they were all out of the cinnamon I'm afraid but still enough sugar. Oh hello! You're a new face."

Kochi

"Why yes of course, come let's give them a peak, shall we?" She slid open the curtian to show "May I present Nia."

The girls all cooed "Ooh wow you look great in it!" Hina said

"100, no 1000%" Yurika shared the sentiment

"Cute and beautiful, Nia. Kaguya, what do you think?"

"I think she's already got it down pat. I'll need to make an adjustment or two but otherwise, if she wants it, consider it sold."

"What do you think, Nia?" Hina asked her walking over to give it a close look "You like the way it feels, the way it looks?"

"I can't begin to imagine what's that like. I suppose everyone wishes to have a thousand lifetimes but wishing and experiencing are different things. I suppose mankind is always doomed to wreak havoc on one another from now until we're all dust and this little blue marble disappears. For now, let this place be somewhere where you do find peace. Have this one on me." Pulling out a glass bottle of some kind of alcoholic beverage she offered it up to her wayward traveling friend here.

Port Aya

"Aww that's so sweet," Saturno agreed "It's good thing then!"

"I'm glad you have such a niiice big broother like that. It's only me and mama!" Plutona explained still with her spacey smile.

"And it's the same with me. Except for Georgie here. Isn't that right Georgie?"

Again she nodded with the puppet.

Aurora

Maybe it was the hot water but he felt his face flush just a bit as Siana drew closer, still he kept his cool demeanor. "Okay, Siana it is then. And yeah likewise...I mean likewise to call us by name."

"Yeah, we don't mind. AHSCA isn't big on honorifics or the family name first, but we are a polite people. It's good to meet you, Siana. So you're in the Navy it sounds like?"

"wow! Film, that's so cool! Hey is it true it has silver in it? And it sounds like just like us, papa says we do things the old way because sometimes old ways are best ways! Hey can I please look through the little window and see through it?"

Finishing up the interview it sounds like, it was pretty fun but certainly they'd probably want to talk to many others. "This festival is super important. I was born during the festival which was right after the war. My parents said me being born felt like the sun poking out from the dark storm clouds. Now I'm grown and married, have been for the past eight years, and blessed with my little son over there. This year has been a little unusual but having the festival now seems like just a bit of tradition that's needed to keep us remembering how blessed we are. Hehe I used blessed a lot I know but that's another part of the festival is to show our faith."

Astares Amauricanum wrote:"Don't worry Sunny, controlling weather very precisely to turn it into a weapon is for now, and will continue to be for a long time, the stuff of science fiction." I reply as I rub her arm a bit to appease her scare.

Nigeria bit her lip a little, "Mmm if you say so, Mr. Joel but I think I should still ask our Priestesses to see how they feel just to check that. Well you still seem like a good guy and good for our dear Sunny here so please just take care of her okay?"

"I think that's a good way to look at it. The Divine wants us to be us, not be their chained slaves after all we have free will to believe or not believe."

Nigeria sighed a bit "I'm sorry, call me old fashioned if you must but I fear tempting the Dark Goddess is just a bad idea right now...Mmm so Joel..." She shifted to change the subject "It's great you've come back to Corona, any other special plans while here? After all so much to see during the festival."
