[DR][LAST CALL] Articles on Math Homework

Postby Yaak » Wed Oct 27, 2021 5:38 pm

The World Assembly,

Noticing that education, usually taking one-third of a day for five-sevenths of a week, can teach children a variety of subjects,

Concerned, however, that math homework is pulling children apart from the square root of learning,

Realizing that math homework stresses one-hundred percent of students out which can lead to physical and mental issues,

Worried that math homework can increase youth rebelliousness plus decrease niceness, equaling a sum of revolution,

Finding that math homework restricts the opportunity to let kids play outside with three-dimensional spheres,

Summarizing that math homework is odd because it doesn't provide any benefit,

And finally, condemning the eating of π (also known as Pi) due to its mathematical recipe,

Hereby declares math homework as a work of the devil.

The World Assembly,

Noticing that education helps strengthen children's minds,

Concerned, however, that math homework is causing the opposite to children and instead hurting them,

Realizing that math homework:
a) Stresses students out, which can lead to both physical and mental effects
b) Takes up most of a student's time, leading to almost no free time
c) Provides no real benefit other than increasing youth rebelliousness

Concluding that math homework should be regulated to help and not hurt,

1. Defines math homework as any work which school students are forced to do at home from their math class
2. Declares math homework unhealthy for every student
3. Encourages teachers to not pass out math homework
4. Affirms that this resolution shall only effect math homework and no other forms of homework.

Realizing that math homework stresses one-hundred percent of students out which can lead to physical and mental issues,

Worried that math homework can increase youth rebelliousness plus decrease niceness, equaling a sum of revolution.

Summarizing that math homework provides absolutely no benefit at all,

And finally, condemning the eating of π (also known as Pi) due to its mathematical recipe,

Hereby declares math homework as a work of the devil.

Maths homework is actually healthy because it makes you think and learn and grow and it has plenty of benefits.

Reads a little too much like a joke GA proposal rather than an joke SC declaration. A declaration can't regulate things, nor does it need to specify what it'll affect, because it doesn't affect anything.

Fair enough. I actually planned to make this a WA proposal, but you can't fully ban something there.

As much as I hate math, it does improve critical thinking when solving them.

My thoughts are congruent. Dear author, I hate to be divisive, but there is a significant fraction of us who like math. I know, I may be a square, but learning math while in the prime of my life has been integral to becoming a better person. Life skills like balancing one's finances are easy as pi, and applying statistics and game theory to complex skills such as playing the stock market or even playing poker, has increased my return on investment exponentially! In all probability, I wouldn't be where I am today without a solid education in mathematics. In sum, I believe that subtracting math homework would be obtuse and a gross miscalculation.

Now... not to go off on a tangent, but can we do something about Social Studies homework instead?

Just as my math teacher stated, you wont need those lessons just like any other subjects. However, it practices your critical thinking, understanding, and comprehension. Which is really important.

And yea, just like what Wrapper stated, math can be useful somethimes.

Maldamia would like to state that they do not support the abolishment of math homework. It is well known that math homework was created as a punishment, however, we must think about the future. Ask yourselves not if we can ban math homework, but instead, can we make a proper method of administering after-school learning so that it is fair and acceptable to everybody.

Nice joke resolution, you really added those elements in there and subtracted the serious ones. You also have a lot of multiplying factors in why math homework is bad, which surely will be divisive in the teaching community. What's next, a ban on derivatives which extends to derivative trading in stocks? To get this to quorum, you need a certain percent of delegates to approve it to go to the voting floor. If this passes and you get your badge, then make sure to throw a party with some π as you surely have changed the matrix. Make sure to be rational and real with your reasoning and never be irrational.

I fixed the draft so 1) it does nothing other than condemn the subject and 2) make it much more basic.
