(INCREDIBLY ROUGH DRAFT) Commend Tinhampton

Postby Moosh Moosh World » Fri Oct 22, 2021 9:57 am

Info:
Hello. I am currently trying to pass this bill but I am unable to right now because I do not have endorsements as I come from a very small region so I was wondering is anyone would submit this for me and credit me as a co-author. Please give me feedback.

The Security Council,
Believing that Tinhampton is a good country who wants what is best for the world
Applauding Tinhampton for passing many bills that push equal rights for all members of the World Assembly including:
Resolution [proposal=]578[/proposal] where they passed sweeping civil rights legislation to help the transgender community
Resolution [proposal=]559[/proposal] which puts an end to the cruel practice of conversion therapy
Resolution [proposal=]540[/proposal] (co-authored by Free Las Pinas) which establishes systems for people with disabbilities
Pleasantly surprised at how active and open Tinhampton is, with them helping very small nations with not much recognition
Acknowledging that Tinhampton has done a significant amount of good to the international comunity and awarding them to encourage them to continue
Hereby commends Tinhampton
(Add when submitted) -> Co-authored by Moosh Moosh World

Once again please add on as I am new and I almost certainly made mistakes

If endorsements are a problem, then I suggest you move to a bigger region. But that will not be the priority as your draft (as evident by your thread title) definitely needs improvement. You need to do a lot more research, and a previous draft of a commendation of Tinhampton (even though it didn't get anywhere) had a lot more detail and research. I suggest you go dig in further and make sure you work on your formatting.

Nothing Commendable here I’m afraid. You need to do more research and you need to improve the formatting and spelling of your draft.

Note also that Tinhampton did not pass any bills - the GA passed them. Picky I know, but accurate.

Hi there, welcome to the SC! :)

Tinhampton *might* deserve a commend, but this draft still needs lots of work.

First, you should make sure to end clauses with commas, as it's the preferred format in most resolutions.

Moosh Moosh World wrote:Resolution [proposal=]578[/proposal] where they passed sweeping civil rights legislation to help the transgender community

Add more elaboration on what #578 did, and at least put the name of the proposal (for example, GAR#578 "Transgender Self-Determination"). Also, are you sure you coded that correctly? Make sure to end this with a semicolon or comma too.
Moosh Moosh World wrote:Resolution [proposal=]559[/proposal] which puts an end to the cruel practice of conversion therapy

Same as above.
Moosh Moosh World wrote:Resolution [proposal=]540[/proposal] (co-authored by Free Las Pinas) which establishes systems for people with disabbilities

Ditto :p
Moosh Moosh World wrote:Pleasantly surprised at how active and open Tinhampton is, with them helping very small nations with not much recognition

What does this mean? Could you elaborate?

Other things that you can (and probaby should) mention:
- Tinhampton founded and built the region Sophia (and its predecessor, Auctor, which got founderjacked by Verate but Tinhampton built as Delegate).
- Tinhampton has written a lot of SC resolution, something you could definitely mention
- I think she's done some NS Sports stuff too?

Moosh Moosh World wrote:Acknowledging that Tinhampton has done a significant amount of good to the international comunity and awarding them to encourage them to continue

This concluding clause needs a lot of work. Try this:
Acknowledging that Tinhampton has done a significant amount of good to the international community and to this body itself, and that they are thus a deserving candidate of the award,

Moosh Moosh World wrote:Hereby commends Tinhampton

Change "commends" to "Commends" (note the capitalisation), and end this with a full stop.

Moosh Moosh World wrote:(Add when submitted) -> Co-authored by Moosh Moosh World

As to the endorsement problem, usually the easiest way to collect endorsements is to move in to a Pacific region, endorse people and you should gain the 2 endorsements necessary fast enough.

There has been already a few attempts to Commend Tinhampton, from those the draft by Sorianora is in the best form. Sorianora decided to keep their draft on hold due to certain reasons and suggestions they got in the drafting thread. If you could go through them it would be nice.

Tinhampton might deserve a commend and I concur what Apatosaurus and others said before, you'll have to do a bit more research and find out if this is the right time to commend the nominee. If you're going forward with this commendation, then I wish you all the best.

Eternally opposed.

I don’t believe we as a World Assembly body gain any positives from the types of contributions that Tinhampton makes - particularly the ones that are made in Gameplay or the SC. To grant them a badge would be to legitimize and establish their frankly insufferable demeanor, in forum interactions, as one nations should look up to. I firmly believe that is not what we as a WA Community should be doing, and instead should recognize nations and regions whose contributions are more worthwhile than those of this nominee.

Commend Tinhampton? For what? Drowning us all in minutiae? I think we could do without, thanks.....

There have been four (including the plagiarized one) previous attempts to commend Tinhampton, none of which have got further than the drafting stage, which should tell you something.

Tim’s post sums up the feelings of many in the SC; Tinhampton is not Commendable and never will be.

I like Tinhampton (usually), and it is very easy to look at Tinhampton’s contributions and think she is commendable. However, for every resolution Tinhampton has passed, she drafts 5 bad ideas (some of them making it to vote). Tinhampton is wildly disliked by many in the WA and this has a snowball’s chance in hell of passing, even if she only spends the rest of her time on NS writing good resolutions and making meaningful contributions. It would be best for you to drop this idea

Such a sweet person! I love her!
Tinhampton works so hard and is so knowledgeable! She's simply admirable.
Stop giving misogynistic abusers a platform. Anyone who sides with Tiktok Star Andrew Tate even 1% of what he says will be treated as enemy who should be shamed out of society. Impressions+Views+Videowatches=$. Nothing he says is new or revolutionary. I don't care if he said "some good stuff", it's still bad because: the more you watch him, the more ad revenue MONEY and algorithm BOOSTS you're giving him to traffick victims. And don't say the victim lied, a young man stupidly told me that the victim confessed to lying, I told em to link me proof, articles or the Audio of her confession, he googled and found 0 proof 0 articles, and he realized he was spreading fake rumors he heard and BELIEVED without fact-check. Don't brand victims as liars without GOOGLING. Debated here

I think her reputation is salvageable if she made a change and worked on it. But as of right now, no, I couldn't support this.
