Thanks all for your support and confidence. We have a very positive internal structure, focusing our skills and building each other up. Everyone has been incredibly kind to me and I think that speaks a lot to TGW's strength in sustainability. It's what's helped let me dive in to work that I already like doing without any hesitation or regrets. It's all things that need to get done, it's all things that need to happen.

So, I'm very honoured to be a part of this top notch community, do what I can to keep the defender faction strong, and help grow and evolve The Grey Wardens into the organisation that NationStates needs for the coming years.

This may be a bit of a taboo question for TGW, but what is the plan I the event you ever really eradicate raiding? Eventually de-tags will be done and you might just demoralize everyone into not fighting anymore. What would happen then?

Well, the 'eventually' for detags is now because the pool of tagged regions is nonexistent.

For TGW at least this has meant shifting more attention to developing regional infrastructure and cultural emphasis to offer more things for our members to enjoy. If anything, it's a new challenge we have to find creative solutions to which is always fun

I don’t expect it. At the end of the day, Military Gameplay is always going to be our prevailing regional culture, and the structure of the region is unlikely to change. The more-or-less Military Junta structure that we presently operate is pretty set in stone, and I certainly wouldn’t expect the likes of elections, democracy, a formal government, and so on forming in The Order. Since there aren’t really too many successful GP-involved, authoritarian UCRs of our structure to look at to comparison, it’s hard to tell what the further development of Internal Infrastructure will result in for TGW. Unlike a lot of Defender regions, we’re almost more like a TBH or LWU where we’re a military first. It’s always traditionally been a pretty tough pivot for such regions to maintain a long-term sustainable infrastructure and interests unrelated to the military, but we’re confident we can continue making TGW a great community for all of our members while maintaining our primary goal of keeping update raider-free. I’m confident we’ll maintain our unique traits and strengths that have allowed us to continue thriving, growing, and attracting all the amazing people we have as Wardens, Guardians, and Residents in our community.

"Eradicating raiding" is not ever going to be a thing that actually happens. It makes for good triumphant propaganda but is not in any way realistic. Dominating the field? Sure. Eradicating raiding? Impossible.

It wasn't meant as some sort of paean. But I don't think it's hard to envision a scenario in which the principal raider orgs fall away for a time and there's no real opposition to TGW. [For the record, I wouldn't view that as a particular problem.]

me coping and seething about cleaning this godforsaken RMB at a painstakingly slow rate while godgamer defenders get some chasing done

First off, quick note, I have a bone to pick with whoever decided to limits on suppression. What the hell is this? Feels like I'm getting in one post every five minutes at this rate... anyway,

Defenders started the night strong, putting a handy end to the occupation of The Union of Rightwing Nations. Unfortunately, the raiders got a lot of vandalism in during their two week stay, so some of us had to stay behind to clean up...

Despite a coalition arising from Frozen Circle, defenders quickly responded after finally liberating URN from raider clutches, moving to meet the raiders on the battlefield. Combatting a three-organization coalition, those not stuck on cleaup duty swiftly defeated the invaders a lovely forty-eight times, securing well over a majority of the victories on this fine Saturday night!

and the buzzer strikes zero at update, of course with a decisive victory for Libcord (For Your Protection™)

With Libcord's unmatched stamina and drive, defenders went from freeing an innocent region from its previous captors early in update to defending their final target, The Haunted House (ooo, spooky, fitting for October) over eighty minutes into update, we simply can't be matched in commitment!
