A note was distributed from O'Hallorans desk to the 48 other GOP Senators.My friends,
Until such a time as the Endless Frontier Act a d the American Relief Act are passed through this chamber, I strongly advise you to vote Nay on BUILD.
It wasn't a Whip. It was barely even a gentle smack. But it would get the message across.
Patience, my dear fellow is a virtue. We're wasting time by obstructing a bill to get other bills on the floor that too will be obstructed no doubt. Before I vote, I'm calling home. This bill in no way hurts the GOP. The people of Louisiana are not my hostages. Since it may be tabled for the current time, I'll subside, but when the vote comes down, there'd better be a good reason for a Nay vote.

It's obvious an attempt will be made to filibuster the bill at this stage so conversations need to be had with your leadership. I want to take that break as an opportunity to talk to you about the content of your amendment. Please retract your objection and second my motion.
Yours,
Gene

Deb Feyrer smiled to herself as she stood, "the fella from Illinois and I rarely agree, but on tabling this we do. I'll second it!"
She then sat, and passed a note to O'Halloren;
'We don't claim that Southerner', and scribbled a small diagram of what could have been any old man but it was supposed to resemble a fellow Southerner.
Max, I want a word about what your boys and girls are playing at. My office or yours? Mine has the good booze.

Everitt,
We cannot afford a blue-state, big-city bailout before we confront China and revive the American economy.
Senator Gaspard,
The Democrats are wasting time by pushing this legislation ahead of necessary relief legislation. Vote Aye if you're compelled to.
Deborah,
He may need whipping into shape.
Gene,
Yours. Please. I need a stuff drink.
