This is intended as an All-Inclusive Thread for Region-Level Competitive Auto Racing in Atlantian Oceania.

Motorsports events within Atlantian Oceania may use this thread for Scores, RPs or other purposes even if they are not ICly being run under the AOCAR banner
Domestic Motorsports within AO may also use this thread if being open at the sub-regional level (IE: Domestic Competition with at least limited external driver/team signup or participation).
Subsequent posts will be reserved to be used as an Index for competitions contained either in the thread or elsewhere (IE: Separate Thread / AO Forum)
OOC posts are permitted but "chatter" should be reserved for (and will likely be more effective in) the RMB or Regional Discord Server

The Region of Atlantian Oceania (AO) is best known for its sporting achievements, as the majority of nations in the region take part in various sporting events around the world. Atlantian Oceania and its users also were the first to create regional based competitions, hosting their own regional Olympics, a regional football tournament which is now the longest running Regional Sports competition on Nationstates, as well as other smaller competitions leading to the classification of Atlantian Oceania as a "Sports Region". AO Regularly hosts the largest number of unique regional sporting events on the NS Sports Calendar and consistently innovates within NS Sports. About AOCAR: The AOCAR is an organization for running/sanctioning competitive motorsports series within Atlantian Oceania. It's IC backstory/membership/etc will be formulated among those interested in playing a primary role.

"Official" membership will likely be similar to the Olympics / WGPC in as far as the Members who have hosted being the primary council and the members who have participated making up the larger council

About the The Atlantian Oceania Motorsport Championship (AOMC): The AOMC is a Region wide Motorsport Competition contested at the National Level - It is a competition between Nations and not necessarily between individual drivers. The most recent edition of the AOMC was hosted during the AOlympic Games: Team Challenge. Each competing Nation put forward 3 of their best drivers across multiple disciplines who earned points toward the overall team championship. The Nations with the top points totals during the qualifying round advanced to an elimination knockout event where Nations earned Gold, Silver and Bronze medals as part of the AOlympic Games.

Most Recent Edition: AOMC IV

Format: The Qualifying Round featured 9 races at 9 different tracks. 7 Teams advanced to the knockout rounds on the Stadium Course in Eelandii, Turori. Teams competed head-to-head on the Stadium Course to advance in a Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, Final bracket to determine overall Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal winners.

Equipment: Cars for the AOMC were provided and prepared by iROS based out of Eelandii, Turori. iROS employs three test drivers, led by former WGPC driver Juracai Klianiota, who will ensure each car has an equivalent baseline. Any cars involved in accidents will be repaired by the iROS Team. iROS cars are a custom built variant of the Hybrid Dart Sport Edition. No Dart insignia will be visible on the cars.

In addition to the Drivers, each Nation team may provide a Pit Crew, Crew Chief and Lead Engineer. Minor pre-set adjustments can be made to cars before each race but drivers will not have extensive practice at each event.

While the cars are full-bodied they are not largely similar in performance to a Stock Car and should offer a suitable 'middle ground' to permit equal opportunity to drivers from both the Stock Car and Open Wheel circuits.

About the AOCAR Stock Car Series: The AOCAR Stock Car Series Runs ICly the same season as the NSSCRA ( https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=435639 ) and will be scorinated roughly on the same timeline as the NSSCRA. Some race dates will be shared when the NSSCRA races at tracks within Atlantian Oceania. When NSSCRA is not at an AO circuit, other AO based circuits will be used.

The RL Equivalent to the AOCAR Stock Car Series would be the ARCA Menard's Series National Circuit

RP Bonus: As this is a regional, 'third tier' series the RP Bonus will be light in nature. It is not expected that participants will contribute dedicated AOCAR RPs on a race-by-race basis but may certainly choose to do so. Others may opt to RP within their existing motorsports / NSSCRA Contributions or major sports RP threads such as AOCAF and NSWC. Overall interest and contribution will be a factor but should not rule out a less-active motorsport participant from the occasional strong finish. Competitors should not feel obligated to post separate RP's in this thread, any AOCAR references in the NSSCRA thread will be noted where relevant

As this runs at the same time as the NSSCRA, it should provide minimal/no additional participation burden on those already participating in NSSCRA. Those not participating in NSSCRA but participating in AOCAR my choose to RP or not at their leisure!

To signup, post your entries in this google doc and Reply in this thread / via Discord / via TG to ensure your entry is identified before the next event. Host nations may also enter local drivers in their home races if desired via the Discord / TG Process.

About the AOCAR Grand Prix Series: The AOCAR Grand Prix Series (AOGP) Runs ICly the same season as the World Grand Prix and will be scorinated roughly on the same timeline Some race dates will be shared when the WGPC/WGP2 races at tracks within Atlantian Oceania. When WGPC/WGP2 is not at an AO circuit, other AO based circuits will be used. Deadline for Circuit Signups is the Deadline for WGPC/WGP2 Signups. Driver/Teams can be added throughout the season if necessary.

AOGP is roughly a Tier 2.5 or Tier 3 (WGP3) Equivalent

RP Bonus: As this is a regional, 'third tier' series the RP Bonus will be light in nature. It is not expected that participants will contribute dedicated AOCAR RPs on a race-by-race basis but may certainly choose to do so. Others may opt to RP within their existing motorsports / WGPC/WPG2 Contributions or major sports RP threads such as AOCAF and NSWC. Overall interest and contribution will be a factor but should not rule out a less-active motorsport participant from the occasional strong finish.

As this runs at the same time as the WGPC/WGP2, it should provide minimal/no additional participation burden on those already participating in WGPC/WGP2. Those not participating in WGPC/WGP2 but participating in AOCAR my choose to RP or not at their leisure!

Restrictions:

Contracted WGPC/WGP2 Race Drivers are not eligible. WGPC Test Only Drivers *Are* eligible. If a driver signed up to AOGP gets a WGPC/WGP2 Race Seat they will no longer compete in AOGP.
All Teams and Circuits must be based in Atlantian Oceania.
All Teams should have at least 1 driver that represents the same nation as the team
Drivers *may* come from outside of Atlantian Oceania, but should be restricted to no more than 1 external driver per team
There is no limit to the number of Drivers/Teams/Tracks that a single nation submits. Driver and Team Submissions should be in priority order. Standard Team sizes are 2 Drivers. Standard Course selection is 1-2 tracks. Courses will be selected after the final WGP2/WGPC Schedule is announced. If you submit more than 1 team or more than 2 drivers make sure you do so in priority order as second teams/drivers will be cut first. The Starting Field and Season length will be limited with an attempt to balance among total nations entered. Drivers/Teams/Tracks will be culled to a fixed number depending on the total number of entries.
There is no set limit to the number nations a single user may participate with. Puppets should be declared where appropriate. Multiple puppets are permitted but should be posted in priority order for the purpose of culling if >20 entries are received.

The Alikki-Corra Street course cuts through some of the popular sections of the Capital of Vilita, Alikki-Corra. While some residents have complained about the effect of holding a street race in the Vilitan Capital city, organizers are hoping that the infrastructure purchased to host such an event can be re-used throughout Vilita in future seasons to highlight a variety of different Vilitan cities with unique temporary courses. A technical track born more out of necessity than design. The Kota Nibabalu Racing Circuit was built on a relatively small plot of land and needed to squeeze a quality race track inside it, resulting in the layout commonly known as the "Snail Shell". For this season, the track is renamed to commemorate local driver Rowell Salcedo, who recently announced his retirement from CGPRA last season.

Drummond Vale Racing Circuit, Clayton, Baker Park
First used for motorsport in 1953 as a motorcycle hillclimb venue, Drummond Vale was slowly developed into a fully enclosed racing facility between 1960-65, and lengthened to its current 3.35 mile (5.4km) distance in 1975 with the addition of the 'Foot' complex to the south of the main straight.
Located in the southwestern corner of Baker Park State, the largest of the seven that make up the Commonwealth, the course sits about 5.5 miles (8.8 km) outside the town of Drummond Vale, and is easily accessible via expressway from the nearest major cities—Clayton, Ezriquay, Hamilton and Belle Haven, the capital of the nation.

There are four permanent track configurations, which can also be mixed and matched at several points; the Club Course is the shortest and is used mainly for karting, open wheel midgets and properly equipped small sports cars for use by members of the DVRC Club; the Vale Course runs longer and includes the flatter area of the infield, where touring cars, Formula BP (open wheel}, and professionally equipped sports cars, along with motorcycles compete; the Hill Course, which was the original hill climb track and used by the same group that race on the Vale; and the full length Championship Course, which will be the configuration on which the WGP2 and AOGP series will race.

Serizawa Racing Circuit, Serizawa, Aji No Moto

The Serizawa Racing Circuit is the premier racing track of Aji No Moto. Owned by the local automobile giant Kissan, the track is more of a type that will test the cars' engine power and overtaking opportunities, which are featured in the Kissan Straight, the Serizawa Complex leading up to The Bird's Beak, and the banked curb after the Widow's Peak turn that leads to the opening part of the Kismo Complex.

The track starts on a ~300 meter straight into the 130-degree turn at Turn 1, then speeds to the Asahi Kerb, before encountering another straight line leading to the Sugiyama Corner, more of a semi-sharp kerb before slowing further down to turns 4 and 5, known as The Complex. A bend then leads into the slowest point of the circuit, The Bird's Beak. The cars then power through the bend into another semi-hairpin, the banked Turn 7, before pacing through a series of sharp kerbs, Turns 8 and 9, in which the power of the car and the speed is important as they lead into the Kissan Straight. This straight is around ~850 meters and has a slight bank leading towards the Widow's Peak, which is a banked kerb leading to the technical section, the Kismo Complex. A sharp turn at turn 15 leads the cars into the start/finish line to complete the lap.

The track is one of the most forgiving one in the calendar, with the cars' engine power being tested more than the technical skill of the driver. The track itself presents many opportunities to overtake as it is wider than normal and usually have many run-off areas and gravel traps, to decrease chances of driver injuries. It is also one of the shortest tracks of the season at 3.526 kilometers.

The Autocinetodrome, Rhamnasis, Dyrrhonian Isles

Built in conscious emulation of the Hippodrome of Arcesius, itself inspired by the Hippodrome of Constantinople. It is a popular tourist attraction in the Dyrrhonian Isles overseas dieresis, though controversy on the costs involved to build it continues to haunt the place. Accusations of misplaced priorities and megalomania were thrown around at the time.

Located in the hills of the Drai Valley in northeastern Siovanija, the Autodrom is famed as a circuit that is one of the nation's most beautiful. It's also the longest on the Formula ST calendar, and one of the more treacherous: the complex between turns 12 and 16 is taken almost entirely flat, and it's a favourite of the drivers, particularly the uphill turn 14. Elevation change and high speed - the Autodrom is the perfect venue for an exciting race.

Track Guide

Located in the picturesque region of Vilitan right overlooking the waters of Atlantian Oceania, the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course was carved out of the Rocks on Vilita's Rockii Coast and offers a unique challenge to all drivers. Originally more of a wide-open high intensity speed park, The Grand Prix modification of the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course was a new addition to the facility in preparation for its inclusion in World Grand Prix Championship 11. While Acceleration and Mechanical Power will be a great equalizer on much of the course, the Grand Prix boot designed by Turorian legend iBen Toralmintii mid-way through the course gives those with the ability to make maneuvers in tight spaces a chance to shine as well.

The Vilitan Grand Prix had been a consistent fixture on the World Grand Prix Championship schedule between World Grand Prix Championship 11 and World Grand Prix Championship 15 before entering into an alternating schema with the Grand Prix of Turori in nearby Eelandii. With the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course having been new to many of the worlds top drivers when introduced during the World Grand Prix Championship's 11th season, the local-based Vilita & Turori Motorsports team dominated the race weekend for the first ever Vilitan Grand Prix. For World Grand Prix Championship Season 16 it was announced that the Vilitan Grand Prix had been relegated to a mid-season test event at the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course while the Grand Prix of Turori at the Eelandii Grand Prix Course took center stage. The Vilitan Grand Prix now runs in odd-numbered World Grand Prix Seasons and has been moved to the season finale for World Grand Prix Championship Season 19.

Signups for the AOCAR Stock Car Series Season 2 are OPEN
As of 03/05/22 there are 2-4 Races available for a new track to be submitted and room for up to 15 more drivers.

About the AOCAR Stock Car Series: The AOCAR Stock Car Series Runs ICly the same season as the NSSCRA ( https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=435639 ) and will be scorinated roughly on the same timeline as the NSSCRA. Some race dates will be shared when the NSSCRA races at tracks within Atlantian Oceania. When NSSCRA is not at an AO circuit, other AO based circuits will be used.

The RL Equivalent to the AOCAR Stock Car Series would be the ARCA Menard's Series National Circuit

RP Bonus: As this is a regional, 'third tier' series the RP Bonus will be light in nature. It is not expected that participants will contribute dedicated AOCAR RPs on a race-by-race basis but may certainly choose to do so. Others may opt to RP within their existing motorsports / NSSCRA Contributions or major sports RP threads such as AOCAF and NSWC. Overall interest and contribution will be a factor but should not rule out a less-active motorsport participant from the occasional strong finish. Competitors should not feel obligated to post separate RP's in this thread, any AOCAR references in the NSSCRA thread will be noted where relevant

As this runs at the same time as the NSSCRA, it should provide minimal/no additional participation burden on those already participating in NSSCRA. Those not participating in NSSCRA but participating in AOCAR my choose to RP or not at their leisure!

:: Season 2 :: EXHIBITION ::

The 2.02 mile Lopinka National Speedway sites just outside of Vilita's colonial capitalcity, Lopinka. The speedway was repaired and re-opened in time for the Inaugural AOCAR Stock Car Series Season and has since hosted the Atlantian Oceania Grand Prix as well. While technically a superspeedway event, the Lopinka National with its aged surface tends to race more like a large oval with strategy and tire wear expected to be at a premium.

The Dart Dash is a pre-season shake down event and exhibition for the drivers and teams of AOCAR. After the first Friday Practice session, drivers participate in a 30 lap no-pit exhibition race to kick off the season.

The Inaugural Dart Dash was won by Sultanate of Oontaz Super Speedway specialist Yasir Nasri who linked up with Glen Reid of Saint Kanye and Kyoko Fujisaki of Aji No Moto to pull clear of favored drivers Jama'obo Pegasii and Juracai Klianiota in the closing laps.
