Somiénois-et-Haverasien Embassy Program

On behalf of the Government of Somiens-et-Haveras, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is now accepting applications for diplomatic missions to Somiens-et-Haveras. We hope to strengthen our ties with the international community, and to establish long-lasting, meaningful partnerships abroad.
Overview
Somiens-et-Haveras is a small, isolated nation in the north pacific, some 2,600 km off the coast of Japan, comprised of 6 islands. We boast a diverse population and culture, a high standard of living, a world class education system, stunning natural beauty, a thriving high-tech industry, and we have recently become a popular international tourist destination.
Locations
The most typical location for embassies in Somiens-et-Haveras is our capital and largest city, Sainte-Marie, a bustling, modern city with a metro population of over 7 million. Over half of our population lives within the Greater Sainte-Marie Metropolitan Area. Renowned for its world-class cuisine, large number of public museums, and its eclectic mix of French colonial, traditional Japanese, and modernist architecture, Sainte-Marie is the beating heart of Somiénois-et-Haverasien life.
Our second largest city, and second most popular embassy location, is Port-Saint-Michel, with an estimated metro population of 1,587,000. Port-Saint-Michel is located on the island of Somiens, and is the largest city not located on the island of Haveras. The city is famous for its pristine, historic french colonial architecture, and many of the buildings in the downtown Port-Saint-Michel area are protected as historical monuments.
Port-Nouveau, our third largest city, is part of the Saint-Marie-Port-Nouveau Metroplex, yet it retains its own distinct identity. Originally, Port-Nouveau was a large industrial harbor, however with the construction of the new Greater Sainte-Marie Industrial Harbor, the old harbor was turned into a planned city based on modernist urban principles. Currently the population of the Port-Nouveau Metropolitan Area is estimated at 943,000. Just a short train ride away from Sainte-Marie, Port-Nouveau is an attractive alternative to the hustle-and-bustle of the capital. It boasts experimental modernist architecture, many public parks, and is generally considered a bit more of a refined locale compared to Sainte-Marie.

OOC Note: Somiens-et-Haveras is a modern-tech nation set in the real world, and will treat embassy requests accordingly. That is not to say that embassy requests from nations not meeting these criteria will necessarily be denied, though any requests for post-modern, fan-tech, or future tech weaponry, or any other accommodations which would not be able to be met in the real world will not be taken seriously and may be cause for the denial of an application.
