America the Beautiful: An American Political RP (OOC)

CURRENT IC DATE: 21 to 27 February 2021

Welcome to “America the Beautiful”, an American Political and Character RP where players can explore the intricacies of government, from the cloak and dagger politics of the capital, to plainspoken compromise in the heartland, to the gritty in-and-outs of running some of the world’s greatest cities.

The year is 2021, the election is over yet division remains. President Arnold Wolf, one of the most controversial in American history passed away in mid-2020, though his legacy lingers. In the fall, Nathaniel Richardson, Republican Governor of Florida narrowly defeated former Democratic Vice President Robin Diehl Jr. while losing the popular vote. In the House of Representatives, a Republican wave carried on the coattails of a suburbanite President, has unseated Speaker Simone and triggered her early retirement.

The Senate had been split 50-50 before the sudden and tragic death of Republican Senator Jon Ronson, who's seat remains vacant until it can be filled by special election in March, capping the end of the first hundred days with what will be the most important Senate special election, perhaps, in history.

Both sides are angry, yet the stage is set to require their collaboration. As his hand is lifted from the bible, those around, mutter sighs or clap fervently, with a sense of frustration for some or of hope for others. The battle lines are already drawn as in three short months, Wisconsin will decide if control in Washington shall remain split or if the President's party deserves a federal trifecta. Where do you land in this? It is up to you to decide how you will manage in this climate. Will you oppose his policies from the left? Champion them on the right? Or try and chart a middle path amid one of the most polarized periods in American History?

Play in the Cabinet or the inner corridors and echelons of power emanating from the White House. Or choose to be a Senator, Governor, Congressperson, Mayor or any other figure with a hand in today's politics. Or run for office, from dogcatcher to the Presidency to fight for your own slice of the American Political landscape. Create an original character, make history and steer them through... America the Beautiful.

Please note: Roster of Characters is listed on the OOC

THE RULES:

1. The OP's words are the words of the Gods, but these Gods are not infallible, you can argue your position in a civil way but in the end their decision is final.

2. No real people or celebrities as characters. There is no Bernie Sanders that you can play. As per the introductory note, politicians post-Reagan do not exist, or have been replaced with generic stand-ins: you can play them, should you wish. Records and history are the same, including statistics, save in the places where player-characters have brought about a change.

3. Regarding absences- If you, for whatever reason, must take a leave from the roleplay-that is of course fine. But please inform us ahead and how long it may take. If you are found to have just up and left the RP, we may have to simulate how you character act in votes per say, especially depending on their importance.

4. When it comes to writing; please do it well. We expect a certain level of quality with your posts. One or two sentences will not be acceptable, but we can be permissive-if your character is engaged in conversation, a sentence is fine

5. Please make characters of quality and substance. We don't want Mary Sue flawless characters who are 30 year olds, models, former sharecroppers with military service earning a medal of honor and then returning from Iraq to attend Harvard. Those characters aren't very fun to play or interact with. But on the other hand-no sabotage characters. Just because you hate Democrats, don't make a hopelessly corrupt and scandal-ridden Democrat with no redeeming qualities. Character models also have to be googleable, no photoshopped models, if we can't google your character model you can't have them!

6. No cheat-edits. Once you've made an IC post, leave it. Edits to formatting are all right along with typos, but don't try to change anything major compared to what you have already written, especially if it has already been responded to. If your character said it in public, it must stay. Gaffes happen, after all.

7. If you are not sure if something is legal or okay, ask OOC first. Always better to check-and there is limited leniency for things that are obviously bad.

8. No events that directly affect another character without permission first. In essence, avoid physical altercations and outrageous "accidents". Assassination is banned, any external action taken against politicians will take place in the form of an event.

9. No meta-gaming. Do not let the OOC influence the realism of your character's actions. If they are in a closed situation in which information is limited, they cannot state specific statistics, for example.

10. PG-13 limit. Per site-wide rules, nothing too saucy or racy. You know it when you see it.

1) Net worth cap
Wealthy characters, such as businessmen or celebrities, may exist but their net worth cannot exceed 1 Billion dollars. (ATB says no billionaires)

2) Picture requirement
All new characters must have a visual portrayal (i.e. a picture) attached to their character application, with the portrayal having to be a realistic portrayal of a human being (no cartoon/anime/video game characters etc.)

3) No using Politicians as character models if they represent the same state.
Applicants must use character models from outside of the state the characters are supposed to represent (eg. Bernie Sanders can’t be used for a character representing the state of Vermont).

4) Campaign cutoff periods relative to date change
Campaign events are not allowed to be scheduled after the IC date change. (eg. an event cannot take place on January 1st, if the IC date range is January 2nd-8th)

5) No playing foreign characters
Foreign characters are no longer accepted. Players shall not play as Ambassadors, lobbyists and so forth. Characters of foreign origin may still be accepted after a prior administration review, granted that the character is a citizen/permanent resident of the United States or eligible to apply for such status.

6) No Senators/Governors for new/unfamiliar player’s first time character
New players (that is players who do not have at least one previously accepted character and a seniority of at least one month cannot apply for characters serving as Governors of individual states or members of the United States Senate). New players may apply for state senators.

7) Characters cannot all be identical to one another
Each player’s characters need to represent a diverse range of backgrounds and ideologies.

8) Need more than just personality weaknesses
Players must elaborate on their character’s weaknesses while filling out the application form. That means characters have to have a weakness that relates to their professional life in addition to a negative personality trait. Failing to include a character weakness is reason to consider an application incomplete and will result in the applicant being forced to make further changes.

9) All links to fictional websites must be redirected to the post they were included in.
Use the url feature in NS Forums post editor to ensure that links to in-universe websites do not lead to any real-life websites. The rule does not apply to intentional links to real websites and documents. NS Forums rules regarding linking malicious/potentially harmful or abusive material still apply.

10) Administration continues to reserve the right to be the sole interpreter of ATB RP rules.

11) Administration reserves the right to suspend individual rules under extraordinary terms, while remaining obligated to inform the players of the conditions of the suspension and their reasoning.

THE COMPOSITION

Situation in DC

President Richardson will take office with a chaotic, disappointed party on both sides. His cabinet is yet to be confirmed, and his party has lost it’s Senate Majority. The controversial and ageing Wolfist Wisconsin Republican Senator Jon Ronson died less than two weeks ago on January 10. While the funeral may be done and held, the ramifications will be felt. Democrats hold 50 seats, and Republicans are stuck on 49. That special election has been called for March 30. In the meantime a newly elected Republican Speaker is contending with an accidentally positioned Democratic Senate Majority Leader…

THE HOUSE
Republican: 222
Democratic: 213
Players may apply for any given seat in the House as any party member, but deviations from real life will need to be rationalized in the application and from the below list of swing seats which could conceivably have gone in either direction in the ATB 2020 House Elections.

THE SENATE
Democratic: 50
Republican: 49
Vacant: 1
These Senators are all from the below map, please note there is room for two Democratic causing independents, though there is a strong predilection that these Independents should someone desire to play them emerge from New England.

APPLY FOR A CHARACTER

Stuck writing a good application? Your application needs to do three things:
- Introduce your character.
- Be fair and balanced.
- Give other characters a rudimentary idea of your character's motivations and desires.

This means your strengths and weaknesses need to be more than "Struggles to Cooperate with People" or "Very Charismatic", these strengths and weaknesses should be drawn from the application itself so fill that box in after the biography.

Writing a good biography is key to getting an application quickly accepted, a good bio means detail is placed in proportion to the importance and weight of the character. If the character is a White House Staffer, you can get away with just two or three paragraphs, but if you're applying for a Senator or Governor, the Admin Team is looking for more background. How did they first get their foot in the door? What did they do before entering politics? What have they done since being in office? What's their family like? Be prepared for OPs to give you some constructive criticism, it's very rare for applications to be accepted on the first try and there might be multiple OPs who give their opinion before you receive a final approval.

Don't make a post in the IC until you're accepted! It'll be retconned and we'll only get mildly frustrated for it.

The below application is a template, provided all essential information such as the below, are published in one form or another, your app will be eligible for review.

Once your character is accepted, an Admin will repost your application as accepted and it will no longer be amendable. There is a limit of three characters per player for the time being, this excludes those within the Executive Office of the President, aka White House staffers and members of Cabinet or other similar positions.

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Jovuistan
Character Name: Phillip Crawford
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 56
Character Height: 5'8"
Character Weight: 187 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: Chair of the House Democratic Caucus (2019-present), U.S. Representative from KY-3 (2007-present), Kentucky State Senator (2001-2007)
Character Country/State of Birth: Ohio
Character State of Residence: Kentucky
Character Party Affiliation: Democratic
Main Strengths: Bipartisan, calm, optimistic, moderate appeal
Main Weaknesses: Quiet, tendency to hedge on issues, bland, difficulty appealing to the left.
Biography: Phillip Crawford was born on July 1st, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio, as the youngest of 5 children. His family lived as decently as they could get being an African-American family in the early 60s, with his father working a decent job as a construction worker, and his mother choosing to stay at home to take care of her kids. Crawford was raised a big fan of many jazz and soul music artists and initially aspired to become a singer himself, however, he became influence by his much more politically active eldest brother Earl. Earl's youth had been impacted greatly by the Civil Rights Movement and it was this that inspired him to get involved in criminal justice. As Phillip had a closer relationship with Earl than any of his other siblings, his conversations with his altered his world view, and he too became interested in civil rights.

Phillip enrolled in Cleveland State University just two years after Earl had graduated from the college. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the Cleveland–Marshall College of Law in 1989, and joined his brother at his recently founded firm Crawford & Austin Law which he founded with his college girlfriend, based in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. After passing the bar exam, Crawford got to work as an attorney specializing in civil rights. The firm developed a reputation over just a few years, but not because of Phillip. Earl's passionate and sharp style earned him a great deal of praise and even got him the attention of the local Democratic Party after they discovered his political positions. Phillip, meanwhile, was completely overshadowed, he didn't have quite the amount of prowess in courtrooms as his brother, and he even started to dislike being a lawyer. He almost quit entirely by 1997 but persisted as he didn't want to leave Earl disappointed. Things shifted suddenly when Earl made the decision to run for Mayor. His strong speaking style and prolific campaigning allowed him to win the election in 1998, leaving Phillip even more in his shadow to his dismay.

Earl started trying to convince Phillip to follow a similar path as him and run for political office. Phillip originally hated the idea of running but was convinced after his brother claimed he would be able to do more good in government than in court. Phillip Crawford ran for State Senate in 2000, aided greatly by his brother's support, but the Democratic Party was skeptical, doubting if Phillip's heart was fully in it. It was a difficult path to the nomination, but he was able to triumph thanks to Earl's campaigning and cruised to victory in the general.

Phillip still didn't totally want to be there when he arrived in the State Senate, but things changed when he recognized his ability to heavily change the state if he tried. He prioritized civil rights and infrastructure in his first term in office, only some of his plans actually passing by the narrow Republican majority. He won re-election in 2004 and gained notoriety after passing a bipartisan education reform bill. The Democrats, now feeling much more confident in Crawford's abilities, came knocking on his door in 2006 in need of a challenger to the incumbent Republican in KY-3. Crawford hesitantly accepted their request and launched a campaign to unseat the Republican. He first had to get through the primary, where he faced off against a popular State House member for the nomination. His name recognition was enough to push him to victory by about 5 perecent. Now in the general election, things were looking to be very close. His Republican opponent was considered to be a better campaigner, but Crawford was balancing it with better appeal to moderates. Thanks to the momentum of the Democratic wave that year Crawford was able to win the race by just under 2 points.

In his early time in Congress, Crawford supported the Iraq troop surge and was viewed as a more moderate member of the House Democrats, albeit a quiet one. While he has been wheeled out to the negotiating table often throughout his tenure, he was never a headline maker, and really, he didn't feel the need to be. He endorsed Baharia in the 2008 election and campaigned for him as the Kentucky primary approached. He gained his first taste of media attention in 2010 after delivering a passionate speech calling out multiple vocal opponents of Bahariacare by name and accusing them of being in the pockets of insurance companies in a rare act of partisanship from the sophomore Representative.

Crawford had been generally skeptically of gun control for most of his career, but switched to being in favor of it following the Sandy Hook shooting, though wouldn't go as far as an assault weapons ban. He supported the Keystone XL Pipeline initially but later stated in 2016 that he made a mistake in supporting it. He favored the Iran nuclear deal and the USA Freedom Act and opposed the Wolf tax cuts. Crawford was one of the writers of the First Step Act and helped add the sentencing reform provisions to the bill. Following the resignation of the incumbent, Crawford ran for the position of House Democratic Caucus Chair in an effort to push his agenda amid the rising tide of radical progressivism. Campaigning on his ability to work with people and work on notable bills like First Step as well as his loyalty to the party establishment, he won off the support of the mainstream and moderate wings of the party. When the recession hit Crawford contributed to the negotiations for the relief package as a member of House leadership. He declined to endorse in the primary due to his position but supported Diehl after he became the presumptive nominee and campaigned for him in multiple midwestern swing states and in Georgia and North Carolina.
Other Info: Married to Paula Freeman in 1993. Has three sons. 2Pac fan. On the Judiciary, Rules, and Education and Labor committees.

Biography: Hypolite was born in 1944 to Edval and Meaun Gaspard, 42 and 36. Edval hailed from Forked Island where the family resided while Meaun came from the faraway city of Erath. Both were devout Catholics and raised their twelve children to be so as well. The family mostly spoke french around the house and had trouble transitioning during school. By the time Meaun died, she still spoke little English.

The fourteen-member household lived in a three-bedroom shack, Hypolite's eight older brothers were either in school or in the military, while his two older sisters were married, and his two younger sisters were developing into fine young women. Hypolite's father, Edval was the ferry master on the Isle Maronne ferry, while his mother Meaun worked in the fields to assist with cotton picking, cane farming, or hay baling. When it came to his studies, Hypolite was at the top of the family, his father had no schooling, nor could he read or write, while Hypolite's mother graduated fourth grade.

Hypolite continued to study until he graduated High School in 1962. After Graduating from E. Broussard High, he went and joined the navy. Tragedy struck a few months after joining, his father was diagnosed with cancer. Hypolite was honorably discharged from the navy and helped at home with his father until he died later that year. Hypolite began working in the various bars around the parish to help care for his mother and sisters.

In 1963, Hypolite met the love of his life, Angelle Broussard at the Fais-Do-Do. They were married at the end of that year, they used some of his navy checks to buy a two-bedroom home in Kaplan, and with much debate, he decided to use the GI Bill to go to the nearby LSU College and study Political Science. He graduated college in 1967 at the age of 23, and in June of that year, God blessed him with a daughter.

By 1967, Hypolite had 3 children. He became the Vice President of The Republican Men's Group of Vermillion Parish, which was founded by a fellow graduate of E. Broussard, and with that title under his belt, Hypolite ran for Kaplan Mayor in 1968. He won and became one of the youngest mayors in Louisiana. He spent his first term desegregating the public pools of Kaplan, with little success, but did succeed in getting more funding for the colored schools in Kaplan.

By 1972, there was a drastic rate of crime among the colored population. He decided it was time to run a campaign election that would gain him popularity in Louisiana, Gaspard For All Colors! Was his slogan. He vowed to lower the crime, and 'fix' the issues in the negro community. As the only somewhat pro black candidate in the race, he won a majority of the black vote but did little to help them in actuality. He was thrown much hatred from the large democratic groups around his Parish but won by a landslide in Kaplan, which was fairly moderate at the time.

Hypolite is known for petitioning the governor, his senator, and his representative, and he is proud of assisting in ending the ERA's lifeline in Louisiana and he's met Phyllis Schlafly many times.

After leaving the mayoral mansion, had two more kids and by the mid-eighties, he was ready to run again! He ran for US Representative of Louisiana's 7th District but lost before the race started. It was a major Democratic stronghold, and he conceded to a fellow Republican who the state party thought had better chances in return for political favors in the future. They were wrong but still supported Hypolite's venture, wholeheartedly in his future Senatorial Campaign. In 1989 he ran for US Senate and won.

He was a bug in the ear of state leaders while he made big moves in Washington, he had the Republican Party and Republican Legislature of the state under his finger, so it was simple to get the Democratic Governor to listen to Hypolites requests. For instance, he was a major voice in the debate against gay marriage in 1990 stating, "Louisianan's don't believe that a... a couple of commie pinko's ought to have the same rights as my wife and me under the law."

He worked with the opposition and convinced many other senators to pass the IDEA Act, not to mention his unwavering support of the FACT Act of 1990. He convinced 12 of the 21 co-sponsors to co-sponsor the HEART Act of 1993. Hypolite was a firebrand in the party. He was a member of an elite Republican advisory group who assisted state legislators; Hypolite stayed in office until 1995.

Within his time in the Senate, he was a key Bipartisan, Moderate, Senator, and if something was passed that he didn't like, he would tell the world, sometimes in a controversial manner. A New Orleans reporter once asked him, "If given the choice between modern feminist bill or a democratic immigration bill, what would you choose?" he replied, "Well, Tacos give me diarreah, and so do feminists, I'm at a loss for words, partner."

With his newfound popularity and fame, his family life suffered, he took a five-year hiatus to regain his political strength, as well as deal with familial drama and strengthen his failing marriage. Tragedy struck again when his mother was killed in a car crash at age 92, in 2000. Knowing that she would want him to, Hypolite decided to run for congress again, this time as a US Representative, it would mean more time near home with his family as opposed to being a Senator, and besides, the current senator had one year left to go, but Hypolite knew he couldn't wait, his mother's angel guided him along his campaign path.

Hypolite won, and yet again he was a key member in congress when it came to many decisions especially after the 9/11 attacks. In the late mid to late 2000, Hypolite was a major donor to the Bush Campaign just as he did in The First Bush Era. In 2001, an attack on our nation occurred, and after much planning, Hypolite co-sponsored the Patriot Act, which he knew would protect our nation.

In his second term from 2002-2004, Hypolite gained major success in assisting in unifying the congress, in which both had a Republican Majority.

Later in his third term from 2004-2006, Hypolite was involved in a plot. A few other representatives contacted Hypolite with war records of the democratic nominee for president. Hypolite advised the group of representatives to leak the War Record. When confronted about this, he told news reporters, "Listen, folks, I was in the navy, I was there for a few months, I am honest about that and I have no shame. I hate draft dodgers, and more so, I hate folks who lie about their contributions to our country."

In 2006, his own campaign came under attack, a woman named Jeanette Fitzgerald of Grand Chenier, Louisiana, claimed to have had his daughter. The people of Hypolite's district knew what type of a woman Jeanette was so they ignored her, Hypolite knew the truth, and that's why he paid her off until she died in 2014. Hypolite won his fourth term with 58% of the vote. Nothing major happened during this term, the issue came about in his fifth term.

In Hypolite Gaspard's fifth term from 2008-2010, a black man won the presidency. Originally, there was no issue, but a few weeks into 2009, he was alerted that Baharia might not be an American Citizen. Hypolite was angry that a foreigner would become president he said some choice words to a reporter about how the democrats were taking over with African implants. Nevertheless, Hypolite still had his supporters behind him when he decided not to run for reelection in 2010 on account of how corrupt the government was becoming, and he was a bit hurt when it came out that the 'birther theories' were untrue and Hyppie G was decieved. Hypolite was an average southerner, who knew who to rally, and for what cause. He later decided to retire from politics for the foreseeable future.

In 2019, Hypolite had a near-death experience, his doctors found a shadow in his lung only for it to be a benign tumor, in the hospital, Hypolite had a premonition of Louisiana and the country being run by democrats for the rest of Hypolites life, and he thought God was telling him to run for Senator again while he was still well and he did.

Hypolite began his campaign in late 2019 and campaigned incredibly hard. At the beginning of 2020, he started his 64 Parish Campaign tour, promising to give a word to the people in each parish of Louisiana. At the beginning of the race, he supported Nathaniel Richardson (or other char) as the nominee for president, before retracting his endorsement after seeing Bernard Porter (idk if he's in this) as the States Favorite candidate.

After a fierce blowout that damaged both the Richardson and Gaspard Campaigns, Hypolite returned his endorsement to Richardson but scarcely spoke of the Governor by name.

Hypolite is the likely Republican winner in the Blanket Primary and was expected to continue to the runoff election against Secretary Lawrence Bellman.

Other Info: Hypolite is still married to Angelle Gaspard, and together they have five children. Melana Gaspard (56) Evariste Gaspard (54) Ulepse Gaspard (55) Maudry Gaspard (42) Lessiant Gaspard (39). Hypolite quit smoking in late 2019 but continues every once in a while. Hypolite is a Conservative. He considers himself as a True Conservative, open to bipartisanship. After the term of President Wolf, Hypolite has had to shift his views further to the right to stay relevant with Louisiana's far-right rhetoric. Anyone who was to meet him would know he is a very kind man, who is more moderate and smart than he lets on. Hypolite enjoys playing the Accordion and spending time with his INCREDIBLY large family. He also has very controversial opinions on the recent racial unrest in the country and is very outspoken against 'untruths' about the country and his state of Louisiana.

    U.S. Senator from Michigan (2003-)
Character State of Origin: Iran
Character State of Residence: Michigan
Character Party Affiliation:
    Democratic (1973-)
Main Strengths:
Main Weaknesses: Unproven as the Senate Democratic Leader, let alone as the Senate Majority Leader;

Benjamin Ryan Hertzog was born on August 3, 1955 to Harold and Anna Hertzog in Tehran. Harold descended from a group of German Jews who made their way into the Great Lakes in the late 1800s and Anna was the daughter of a Polish and Russian Jew who immigrated to New York City in the early 1900s. The two of them had met in Europe during WWII as they had both decided to join the Army after hearing the news about the Holocaust. He was an injured infantryman and she was his nurse. The two would marry soon after and moved to Ann Arbor where Harold would finish his university education. Fast forward a decade later and Harold had become a Foreign Service Officer and the couple had decided to felt stable enough to make some additions to their family, Benjamin himself in 1955, then his brother in 1957, and his sister in 1960.

The Hertzog children would grow up in the Middle East and Europe given that they were his Dad's preferred regions. A few years in Iran here, a few years in France there, a few years in Jordan or Israel every once and a while, those 3 nonconsecutive years were the family lived in Michigan and then New York when their Dad was in a more dangerous country, so on and so forth. It was a rather interesting way to grow up, and it made for a rather fun childhood especially seeing as the family would see go to see the sites in their new country whenever they could. However, as Benjamin was entering High School there were aspects of it he was growing tired of. Having to leave and form a new friend group every 2 or 3 years was never fun, and the lack of freedom was even worst once he moved into his more rebellious years. In school he'd fall in love with the natural sciences, something about the predictability and structure of it all gave him an attachment to it in contrast to the confusion he felt whenever his parents would try an explain foreign policy to him, plus it didn't help that he was fairly good at it too.

It was the Summer of 1969 that would change his life forever, watching the moon landing was a formative event for the young Benjamin, he was practically transfixed. Once he'd start high school about a month afterward he'd almost fall into the sciences with a fever he had yet to possess with dreams of the final frontier filling his head on a nightly basis. While it would fad in intensity through the rest of high school, especially when he found an interest in biology, but it never really left the time he was looking at colleges, he'd find a good one in his Dad's alma mater.

When Ben started his studies at the University of Michigan in the fall of 1973. He was a bit nervous when it came to the social aspects of college given his upbringing but he would naturally readjust to everything quickly enough just like he had numerous other times before. Overall, Benjamin enjoyed his time in undergrad, he entangled himself in both the academic and social aspects of it where he had the chance to do research at an early age and to have a social life that would last for a whole four years at the very least. Another world event that happened during this time period that would shape Benjamin's life was the Watergate Scandal. While he wasn't transfixed to it in the same way he was to the moon landing, it did give him a major interest in politics, so much so he started taking classes in the field, and soon enough he had enough credits to tack it onto his degree as a minor. He'd graduate with a B.S. in his major of Astronomy and Astrophysics with his two minors in Biology and Political Science tacked on in the Spring of 1977.

The following fall, Benjamin would trade Michigan for Pasadena, California where he'd be pursuing his graduate degree at the California Institute of Technology. Early on into his career there he developed an interest in the effects astrophysical phenomena such as solar radiation, among a number of others, had on biological life. It was a rather eclectic field at the time and still is for the most part, but it was what he was interested in. Just given the nature of what he was doing most of his research in and the connections CalTech had with the institution, Benjamin would end up working with NASA while he was still a student, spending a semester and the summer following it in Houston on an internship related to experiments involving cells and how they function under the various conditions of space and space travel. After graduating with his Ph.D. in Astrophysics in the Spring of 1982, he'd apply to work at NASA as a researcher and once again, given CalTech's connections with the institution and his own record with them, he would end up getting hired.

Moving full-time to Houston, Benjamin was extremely excited.

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Clay Voll Albelle
Character Name: Gretchen Skarlatos
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 46
Character Height: 5'7"
Character Weight: 145 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: Representative from Tennessee's 7th Congressional District (2021-present), Host of the Greater America Podcast (2016-2020), CEO of Transcendence Apparel (1995-2016)
Character Country/State of Birth: Tennessee
Character State of Residence: Tennessee
Character Party Affiliation: Republican
Main Strengths: Passionate speaker, ambitious, cult following, business experience, easily captures media attention
Main Weaknesses: A joke/menace to anyone outside the far right, stubborn, prone to making false/outrageous statements, allegations of abuse in business
Biography: Born on September 7th, 1974 in Clarksville, Tennessee, Gretchen Skarlatos was the youngest of three children. Her father worked as a professor at Austin Peay State University while her mother was a stay-at-home mom. Her family was largely apolitical and mostly just voted for Republican presidential candidates. She was one of the popular girls in high-school, cliqueing with likewise student and gaining some social power and success despite her less than perfect grades. Her parents were disappointed in her schooling however, and thus forced her to work harder on work. She was able to get into her father's college and had much better results, being able to eventually attain a Bachelor of Business Administration.

With her business degree secured, Skarlatos founded her clothing company Transcendence Apparel in 1995. Initially success was minimal, only relegated as a small local market brand. She hussled still, and after a chance meeting with some wealthy investors, she was able to expand the brand throughout Tennessee and into southern Kentucky. She started taking full advantage of the internet by selling online, allowing Transcendence to grow nationwide. Her net worth by 2015 had grown to over $10 million, using the money to buy herself and her family high-end homes. She and the company came under media scrutiny around 2012 when reports of poor working conditions came to light, including insufficient wages, excessively long hours, and frequent overworking, pressure, and verbal abuse from supervisors. She made heavy use of Right-To-Work laws to suppress unionization efforts and called the reports 'lies from upset employees who got fired'.

Skarlatos was an active user of Facebook, especially around the time Arnold Wolf announced his run for President. Thanks in part to her politically active sister, she became increasingly engrossed in social media political discourse. She learned about the many conspiracies perpetuated by the rising Wolfist movement and even started believing them. She joined multiple Facebook groups and advocated white replacement and false flag conspiracies, with media investigations finding she had at one point called for the execution of the Clifford family for their alleged body count. She became an admin in a group which included members posting racist comments against various Democratic politicians and death threats.

As the 2016 election grew closer, she decided to put her life towards political advocacy against the deep state, founding the Greater America Podcast. Skarlatos spouted false statements about a homosexual agenda, white genocide, 9/11, and more. She was a strong supporter of QAnon and railed against a supposed pedophile cabal led by the Baharias and (Not-Bill Gates). She collaborated with a few of her contemporaries, including (Not-Alex Jones) and (Not-Steven Crowder). She garnered national attention when she and her producers were seen on video attempting to run a (Not-Stacy Abrams) campaign bus off the road. Her antics and rants made her a meme among left wing social media, but to the far-right, she became a voice, and her following only grew.

President Wolf announced he had brain cancer in 2019, and Skarlatos was deeply suspicious. She began claiming that the deep state and forced Wolf to lie about his health and were trying to hold him hostage to prevent him from exposing the pedo ring. She was furious at the news, and in mid-2019 she came to the conclusion that she needed to take matters into her own hands. A week after posting on Facebook a video of her angrily confronting (Not-Beto) in a restaurant she announced she was running for election to Tennessee's 7th District.

She used her theatrics to fish for media attention from the start of the campaign. She held rallies with heavily armed supporters behind her, said supporters often harassing and threatening her opponents, even driving to their house ominously. Her opponent in the primary was forced to drop out due to fear of being attacked by her rabid voters. Because of this and the exposure she got in the mainstream she was able to win the primary. She denied her previous conspiracies claiming they were taken out of context, but the label of an alt-right QAnon supporter remained tied to her. After reports of Wolf's death, she questioned the validity of him dying from cancer and hinted at foul play. Despite being a target of vitriol and mockery from much of the spectrum, she was easily able to win the general election in her deep red district.

The close election gave birth to new conspiracies. Although she was extremely skeptical of Nate Richardson and questioned his conservatism, she played ball for him by alleging fraud in multiple swing states in an attempt to secure a win for the allegedly senile Robin Diehl, and that the Senate and House results were actually a landslide for Republicans. She finally entered Congress and got to work stirring the pot against the other side of the bench, making fiery speeches against cancel culture, gun control, and BLM rioting.

Biography: Linda Lazare was born in 1980 to parents Wilfred and Molly Lazare, she was raised in a mostly poor household. her father was a disabled veteran, while her mother was a bus driver. Linda was a very studious child, she was a 3.8 GPA student most of her life. She graduated high school and went into the University of Houston for Nursing. During college she became interested in politics, especially after the (Not-Bill Clinton) scandal. After she graduated college, she began volunteering at Soup Kitchens and Homeless shelters and became a secretary at a local law firm. As time went on, she noticed her parents going deeper and deeper into debt, she looked into it, and found out that they were paying for her College expenses which were way more than Linda originally thought. Linda was furious that politicians were touting how important education was, and how it would help in the future, and yet force people to pay these outrageously high expenses. She wrote to her Republican Representative about her issue, and nothing was done, no response or anything.

While in college, Linda also helped out at many blood drives. After college, Linda became aware of the Healthcare Crisis in America. After college, Linda became a Certified Nurse, and worked at various hospitals on and off, part time. Linda took an interest in politics and decided that would be her strong suit, and that her time as a nurse could help her.

In the late 2000s (Not Hillary Clinton) Announced her campaign for US President and Linda was inspired, she joined (not Hillary's) campaign staff and worked to help her win. Linda grew in the ranks and became (Not-Hillary's) scheduling coordinator. Eventually, it was obvious that a (Not-Hillary) nomination would soon come so Linda joined Rashid Baharia's campaign staff and worked with his Scheduling Coordinator to get things done. She helped him campaign in many key states that led to his victory.

Later on in 2009 she decided that she would run for Congress. She ran for US Representative for the 7th District, she was primarying three more popular Democrats and came last at the end of the primary. She didn't let this deter her, she ran three more times in 2011 she didn't make the primary,in 2015 she won, and 2017 she lost the general Election.

In her 2015-2017 term as Representative she blames her low successes on then President Elect Wolf She worked to keep the ACA and help expand healthcare and getting it to the people who need it most, this made her unpopular with the wolfists who were very common at the time which made her lose the 2017 reelection. Her approval rating at the time of her departure was at about 67% but still she lost with only 46% of the vote going to her.

Then, in 2019 she ran again, this time she ran on a more middle liberal platform, she ran with the Me Too movement, with some support from the BLM movement, and attended many Protests and Marches with them, she would protest with Healthcare Activists, and the leader of Houstons Women on The Move group once said, "If we can't trust the Republican women in office to help us, we need a strong Democratic woman and Linda is that lady." With assistance from Women's rights groups and some help from the BLM group she won the Primary and the general election and was sworn in office on January 3rd 2019.

Later in 2020, she hopped into the race for Texas's Senate Seat. She gained notoriety as a meme, and as an easy win for Republicans. She eventually dropped out and focused on her congressional work where she wrote and passed the HPPSO Act through the House with Bipartisan support. She was re-elected and holds her seat as a Blue dot on the Texas Congressional map.

Other Info:
She is Pro Choice, she believes we should have better background checks for weapons, while not banning them entirely. She believes in raising the taxes on the rich, lowering the price for universities, cheaper healthcare, and helping the climate. [b]She supported the Equality Act and supported the Carbon Fund Act, as well as the Fair House Apportionments Act.

In December of 2020, Linda Lazare married her few month sweetheart Rodney Daniels. She kept her name Lazare like a true feminist, and is currently three months pregnant.

Character Weight: 63kg
Character Position/Role/Job:
White House Chief of Staff (2021-)
U.S. Senator from Arizona (2018-2019) [Appointed]

Character Country/State of Birth: Modesto, California
Character State of Residence: Arlington, Virginia
Character Party Affiliation: Republican
Main Strengths: Knows Washington. Knows the Military. Holds Grudges.
Main Weaknesses: A Hack. Some Relationships Seriously Deteriorated. Holds Grudges.
Biography:

Iosif Robert Abernathy, affectionately called ‘Ira’ by loved ones, Robert/Bob by some colleagues, Iosif by the radical liberal left who try to imply he's a Russian hack, and ‘the IRA’ by some of his staff, is the current White House Chief of Staff as of January 20, 2021. Born 8 January 1952 to mother Pollina Abernathy (nee Mandelstam) and father John Abernathy, he was named Iosif after his maternal grandfather who had been killed in the Great Purge some fifteen years earlier, and Robert "Bob" for his paternal grandfather who had served like all Abernathys in the U.S. Navy.

Ira’s mother and maternal grandmother both escaped the Purge, and in 1950 would escape westward after first escaping the Eastern Bloc from Moscow to West Germany. As ethnic Jews were among the very few people allowed to flee the East.

In 1951, Pollina had been working as a hairdresser in Bremen. She met and married the young American Navy Sailor, John Abernathy and would move stateside by the end of August 1951, giving birth to Iosif at John’s parents house in Modesto, California. Iosif grew up in Phoenix Arizona, living with his mother and eventually grandmother. While his father was attending to his duties in the Navy, Iosif was to stay in Phoenix for stability in his youth. His father would die as a POW in 1969, just before Iosif would be accepted into UCLA where he would obtain his BA. This led to being immediately commissioned into the U.S. Navy Reserve as an Intelligence Officer in 1974. While a member of the Navy Reserve he would study his JD at the James E. Rogers College of Law in Phoenix.

In 1980 he would convert his duty in the reserves to active duty, rising to eventually leave the U.S. Navy, after service in the First Gulf War in 1991, having served for a total of sixteen years between his reservist and active-duty service. He was honourably discharged at the end of his time as a Lieutenant Commander in the USN.

Shortly after exiting the Navy he secured employment as a counsellor for the Senate Armed Services Committee. Due almost entirely to his family’s gold star status and his own commendable service, he spent the next few years working his way up to eventually being the Chief Counsel for the Senate Armed Services Committee. His time in this position brought him closer to a senior Arizona Republican Senator, Moe Johnson. Johnson and Abernathy hit it off as good friends in the Committee Chambers, both were men of the Navy and while Abernathy was some twenty years Johnson’s junior, the two worked well together. When Republicans lost the Senate Majority the first time in 2001, Moe offered Iosif a job as his Chief of Staff which Iosif accepted happily. He was nicknamed Bob the Builder for his ability to build quick relationships with the existing staff and would happily hold this role until the death of his boss, Senator Johnson.

Over his seventeen or so years as Johnson’s Chief of Staff, he learned the ins and outs of campaigning, the machinations behind the Republican Party and went from a very specialized defence policy specialist to a very specialized defence policy specialist who also understood the basic framework of helping to govern. He brought a sense of military precision and organization to the office and fostered a strong connection to both the Arizona GOP and Senate Leadership. So much so that when his boss died, Mindy Johnson specifically requested that Iosif Robert Abernathy be appointed to the seat in the interim. He gracefully accepted the honour and kept a low profile in the office, eventually resigning and handing it over to his now-defeated Republican appointed successor.

Spending just a few short weeks retired as he moved back into Phoenix, he was shocked to learn that President Arnold Wolf was diagnosed with cancer. Accordingly however, he offered his services to a number of the Republicans running on a limited basis, until eventually finding that he could work well with Florida Governor Nathaniel Richardson. Both the Governor and former U.S. Senator had a strong working relationship, and a large part of Abernathy’s role was collating endorsements, using the old Johnson donation lists and helping to flesh out defence policy. He eventually rose to senior Campaign Counselor. To his own surprise, he was asked to be Nate’s Chief of Staff, adopting Nate’s former Gubernatorial Chief of Staff as his Deputy. This has triggered some animosity though nothing the former sailor can’t handle.

Character Application and Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Louisianan
Character Name: Hypolite John Leland Gaspard
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 76
Character Height: 5' 10"
Character Weight: 174 lbs.
Character Position/Role/Job: Junior Senator-Elect of the State of Louisiana (2020-) US Rep. from Louisiana's 7th District (2000-2010) US Senator from Louisiana (1989-1995) Mayor of Kaplan, Louisiana (1968-1976) Vice President of The Republican Men's Group of Vermillion Parish, Louisiana (1967-1968)
Character Country/State of Birth: Louisiana, United States
Character State of Residence: Louisiana
Character Party Affiliation: Republican (Formerly Democrat before running for political office in the 1960s)
Main Strengths: Charismatic, Sweet, Humble, Well Known Personality, Sharp/Witty
Main Weaknesses: Loud, Confrontational, Hot-Headed, Old, Controversial, Gulliable

Character Name: Gretchen Skarlatos
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 46
Character Height: 5'7"
Character Weight: 145 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: Representative from Tennessee's 7th Congressional District (2021-present), Host of the Greater America Podcast (2016-2020), CEO of Transcendence Apparel (1995-2016) This is good :)

Skarlatos spouted false statements about a homosexual agenda, white genocide, 9/11, and more Any anti-Semitic history here?.

What have her comments been surrounding temp-President Rick Tawney (not-Mike Pence)? Also commentary surrounding First Lady Eliza Leblanc Wolf would be helpful once Cob gets that app up!

How did she react when a Republican Senator dropped dead just a few days after Dems won the GA-special making the Senate 50-50, then throwing it to 50-49 in the D favour...

Character Country/State of Birth: Louisiana, United States
Character State of Residence: Louisiana
Character Party Affiliation: Republican (Formerly Democrat before running for political office in the 1960s)
Main Strengths: Charismatic, Sweet, Humble, Well Known Personality, Sharp/Witty
Main Weaknesses: Loud, Confrontational, Hot-Headed, Old, Controversial, Gulliable

Skarlatos spouted false statements about a homosexual agenda, white genocide, 9/11, and more Any anti-Semitic history here?. She was a strong supporter of QAnon and railed against a supposed pedophile cabal led by the Baharias and (Not-Bill Gates). She collaborated with a few of her contemporaries, including (Not-Alex Jones) and (Not-Steven Crowder). I figured the Jillbus wasn't a thing but anyway, she was originally elected in 2014 (sworn in 15) then lost her seat in the '16 election, and came back in '18 and was just re-elected. So in other words, that is the period in which she formerly served.

She was one of the popular girls in high-school, clicking with likewise student and gaining some social power and success despite her less than perfect grades.

She hustled still, and after a chance meeting with some wealthy investors, she was able to expand the brand throughout Tennessee and into southern Kentucky.

Skarlatos spouted false statements about a homosexual agenda, white genocide, 9/11,(Not-George Soros, and more.

After reports of Wolf's death, she questioned the validity of him dying from cancer and hinted at foul play, even questioning if now President Rick Tawney and former First Lady Eliza Wolf were in on the deep state's scheme.

She tweeting following the death of Senator Jon Ronson that "This tragedy is awfully convenient for Dems. An investigation may be in order!" fuelling typical criticism from Democrats and moderate Republicans, though no action was taken on the part of House Republican leadership.
