Welcome to the 2nd edition of the Sepak Takraw, hosted by Otksarin! 30 teams will gather together in Melayu Archipelago to play for the title, currently held by the team from Kriegiersien, following their win in Squidroidia in the inaugural edition of the STWC.

As of writing, a total of 30 teams have been confirmed to participate in the tournament.

Format: Teams will play in a single round-robin format, with matches split between 2 host venues here in Otksarin. In the group stage, teams will be ranked as follows: Wins; Head-to-head wins; Head-to-head regu difference; Overall regu difference; Coinflip (OOC: Scorinated Match)

Group Stage Draw: Teams will be split into pots, based on the weighted rankings at the end of the last tournament. Given that the hosts, Otksarin, does not start with any ranks, they will not be placed into Pot 1.

Additional Information

About Sepak Takraw
The objective of the game is to hit the ball over the net and onto the floor in the opponent's court to score a point. While it may be considered to be similar to volleyball, the main differences come in terms of the number of players, as well as the way the ball is passed over the net.

A game of Sepak Takraw is played between two teams. The players on court are the striker, server and feeder. Game play is very similar to volleyball, however, players are not to use any part of their arms or hands to touch the ball. Instead, they would need to use their legs, head and torso to get the ball over the net. Players are allowed a maximum of three contacts with the ball to get it over the net. Games are in a best-of-3 regu (sets) format. Every regu is won by the team who reaches 21 points and leads by at least 2 points.

Roster
A standard roster comprises of 2-3 teams of players. Apart from that, teams will usually give some additional pointers that helps in the roleplaying. These may include: history of the team; the character of the coaches and players; play style of the team; selection of the starting team.

Every roster should also contain a RP permissions box. This allows opponents to understand what should or should not be RPed. A sample of such a box is as follows:

About The Gothanita Isles
The Incorporated States of the Gothanita Isles (TGI), is made up of a series of island states, which came together by the Gothanitan Declaration of 2047, as an economic and political union. The people of the respective island states will come together as Gothanitans, with a unified stance on issues of national security, foreign policy, and political issues. The signatories of the Declaration will act as the defenders of the sea, defending the way of life for islanders across the multiverse, and also, come together as one unified voice in the multiverse.

In reality, the politics of each and every island-state is largely different. The differences in government system is the most common question, but given the levels of self-autonomy each member state have over their people, the differences have been largely reconciled at a national level. Twice yearly, the representatives gather together in the Council of Four meeting (officially known as the Gothanitan Combined Council meeting), with the leaders of each government coming together to discuss four main issues: economic development, combined foreign policy, national security issues, and cultural issues. Many things, however, can be decided on a local level, so these meetings are typically short, with not a lot of issues on the agenda. The agreements require ratification by the individual member states (per the Gothanitan Declaration of 2047, which is effectively the Constitution of TGI) before becoming law.

Currently, there are 4 signatories to the Gothanitan Declaration, and collectively, these nations are represented on the international level as The Gothanita Isles. Individually, however, each of these 4 signatories have their respective clout in their own regions, and are allowed to conduct some low level business with their region mates. As such, they are considered as partial states by some other nations. The 4 signatories are: (per the order as signed on the Declaration)

About Otksarin
Otksatin is a Sultanate, and that would mean that the nation is one of the more conservative nations around. In the country, any negative talk about the Sultan of Otksarin will likely get you arrested for laws of lèse-majesté, given the Otksars' support for their Sultan. However, apart from being mindful of what you say, the country is very open to visitors, and there aren't much dress codes unless you are attending a religious event.

There are some things which you should take note. Games typically end rather early, to allow the party to start earlier and end earlier. In many normal towns, they stop selling alcohol as early as 10pm. And they don't restart till 7am the next day. In certain tourist hotspots, however, they make sure to extend to midnight, though you would not expect much more drinking everywhere. As for smoking, do take note of where you smoke. The country's emphasis on clean air, means that smoking can only be done in designated rooms, with HEPA filters to help filter some of the gas out. Also, you would notice that weekend holidays in the country are on Fridays and Saturdays, given that Friday is prayer day for Otksars.

Event Locations
To allow for concurrent matches to be held, 2 indoor halls will be used for the tournament. Both venues are around 45 minutes by car from each other, which makes travelling simpler.

1) Alor Hangor Indoor Sports Hall (cap. 15,000)
Located in Alor Hangor, Jerbula state, the indoor sports hall is located a stones throw away from Alor Hangor FC's Hangor Stadium. The city is a quiet part of the country, but whenever tourism comes to the country, the town will be busy, because they are famous for their food and shopping street.

2) Pekatanan Sports Complex (cap. 23,000)
Kuala Pekatanan, the capital of the country, is really huge, and there is a sports complex located in the Pekatanan Sports District. The indoor sports hall used for the STWC will be able to accommodate 23 thousand spectators watching the event, which is relatively huge for the country.

For games, the first listed fixture uses the first stadium in Alor Hangor, while the second listed fixture uses the second stadium in Kuala Pekatanan.

KRIEGIERSIEN SEPAK TAKRAW National team

The sisters Corina and Corana Wirus, fugitives from a nation far away were they hadn’t been welcome anymore and their mentor, Puu Panda, met by accident at a small tournament.
The two being fanatic fans of the fascinating sport found in Puu a master to grow and groove in the game, becoming with him the ‘Tremendous Trio’.

Playing show matches and participating in eating contests they wandered the nation and worked hard to get the money together to get to the first World Cup.
Their way ended with the World Cup Title.

After winning the first World Cup the trio became stars in Kriegiesien, members of the new Sepak Takraw department of the Sport Club of the nation, the presidents personal 'Pet Club' Timesteam.

Hebitaka and Kickvolleyball

The sport of Sepak Takraw, also called Kickvolleyball in Hebitaka, is a comparatively newer sport in this country. The Sport was, though, capable to capture the attention of multiple Hebitaka as it felt adventurous to play the sport of volleyball with legs. The sport quickly grew in the nation and soon the Hebitakish Kickvolley Federation was established which launched the HKL, a franchise league comprised of 10 teams for the upliftment of the sport in Hebitaka. Soon this Sport became really popular and Hebitaka even managed to bang the finals in the inaugural World Cup only to lose to Kriegiersien. The nation is currently ranked 3rd in the World Rankings.

Tekong - is a player who is in the middle near the starting circle, acts to do the kick-off or serve, and controls the middle and back of the court.

Feeder - is a player who is on the right side of the tekong, acting to control the right side and the front of the court.

Killer - is a player who is on the left side of the tekong, acting to control the left side and the front of the court.

The feeder can act as a ball thrower for the Tekong to kick off or serve and setting the ball for a killer, and the killer will do a smashing, or make a block in defensive mode. This depends on the state of the game and their respective skills.

JUVEN SEPAK TAKRAW NATIONAL TEAM

Sepak Takraw is not a sport of major significance in Juvencus, mostly played in the tropical seaside of Scudelli and the surrounding areas. It was brought by returning Juven tourists from a far away place in another multiverse in the tail end of the 1970s and has only stuck around the Scudelli area, whose climate, according to the tourists, is resemblant of the far away place it was brought from. The Juven Sepak Takraw Association(JSTA for short), was founded in 2002 to keep track of the teams throught the nation and bring awareness of the sport with limited success. The Sepak Takraw national team has joined the second Sepak Takraw world cup in hopes of popularising the sport to the uneducated masses as a good alternative to other more popular sports such as association football, handball or track and field sports.

"Come on, just try it out - you'll enjoy it!" A group of Britonish youngsters were encouraged by their peers from Pemecutan to try out the sport of Sepak Takraw - a game that no one in Britonisea had heard about. For one of the Pemecutanians, their father (Pande Putu Suryawan) used to play Sepak Takraw as a young adult and was more than thrilled to learn that his son was able to find "uncultured" (in his own words) Britons who were interested in the sport. The Britons were invited for a Pemecutan family dinner to watch the final match between Kriegiersien and Hebitaka with the pace and excitement of the game piquing their interest. In the months that followed, a Britonish delegation of six athletes was made to represent the country at the 2nd Sepak Takraw World Cup. Whether a few months were enough to fully train the Britons for what was to come - we would have to find out.

Britonisea isn't in the easiest of groups for their first Sepak Takraw World Cup. Britonisea will have a bye on the first day of the competition, giving the boys time to access the teams in Group D. Kriegiersien (Ranked 2nd) is expected to do the best here after their win last World Cup, with Britonisea's opening match, unfortunately, being against them. The team will hope that their nerves won't get the better of them as they will be hoping for an early lead in the rankings if the team has any chance of qualifying to the knock-out stages. Britonisea will then play Berdeng Bundok - an unranked team that the Britons don't really know anything about. Matchday four will see Britonisea go head-to-head with HUElavia - ranked 16th - who managed to just slip through into the knock-out stages last year, filling the final available spot for qualification. Eraman will make their debut in the World Cup so we are unsure as to how good they are in the sport. However, Eraman is in the Melayu Archipelago as so they will have a lot of support - especially when playing against the Britons.

The Sepak Takraw World Cup II will be broadcast on Novasport, a relatively new broadcasting union that gives a home to the best of Novapax Sport.

The Sport in Dachine (Dao Chonh)
An early form of sepak takraw was introduced by Southeast Asian settlers to Wishtonia, many of whom settled in and blended with the local population of Dachine. It was similar to an indigenous ancient game played over a rope called Chi Yon. It was also one of the few sports allowed by the Gaulic colonial rulers, while many of the combat sports and warrior skill demonstrations were outlawed as subversive to Gaulic rule. While there have been amateur leagues of sepak takraw and it is a popular school sport for a long time, professional sepak takraw had not been organized and initiated until much later. The first season of the current top professional league happened less than three decades ago after several other failed attempts at keeping a professional league together. The Dachinois teams in the new LSST have not fared well, and the national team of the star players from the domestic league, also had a poor showing in the first STWC, but it is hoped that they can somehow have a better showing this go round and even crack the top 5

Sepak Takraw has a pretty large following among most social classes, especially the Marauti people, who brought the game Sepak Takraw here in the first place. It is largely played in neighbourhood courts, and there is no league nor any professional teams in The Jovannic. It is largely regarded as a sport for relaxation, so expect the team and the Jovannic crowd to cheer loudest whenever someone does a cool trick, rather than scoring.

SHARK SPORT JOURNAL
Edition: 01

First edition in Squidroidia, it no less than a disaster for Sharktail Takraw team. Out of 6 game, only 1 game can we hear the cheers from The Blue Army(Sharktail Sport fans Association). The other 5, just a frustration can be seen on every player face. That how we start in STWC, a worst start.

At first sight, everyone expected a big achievment can be made by this team. Sepak Takraw, the sport that well known in Melayu Archipelago, can be stated as one of the sport played in city, school or even rural area in Sharktail. No matter how we look at this, Sepak Takraw already well known in Sharktail and Melayu Archipelago. So when they announced the establishment of STIC and the plan of STWC, how can everyone not excited. That the traditional sport in Sharktail, ofcourse we can doing good.

However, the expectation that time seem out of place. Trembled one match to another, losing to the nation who is new to Sepak Takraw. In experience, Sharktail will have advantage, but that time not even a little of that advantage can be found. What happen to this team that time? Everyone curious on how this team can be so bad. Is it management fault? Or plyer fault? Or who they will put the blame? Not even a clue can be found. What can everyone do, just watch with frustration in their face.

Few month ago, second STWC announced. Ofcourse this team take part. Natural decision by SSTA, when the tournament happen, they will sent a team. But how about the fans,will they forget what happening in Squidroidia last time. Can this time, their heartbroken be heal. Can the scar in heart be closed. Will they watch this time just to suffer again or this will be the smile in their face. 6 player on the roster, they will lift the pride of Sharktail in STWC 2. All depend on them and all fans just can waiting if they will be a good news from Otksarin. Cry or laugh, Otksarin, here we go.

For the first time, the Oakwood Landing Sepak Takraw Association (OLSTA) has agreed to host the first season of the OLSTA Youth Shield which sees two Oakwood Landing, Lathamford and Hundredstar youth teams who are winning first and second place in their respective youth leagues. The top six teams meet in a two -round-robin league where they will meet once at home and once at home. The owner of the highest points in the league will be considered the winner, each team will compete ten times and the owner of the highest points will be crowned the OLSTA Youth Sheild champion. The Sepak Takraw Association of Lathamford (STAL) was represented by STAL Youth League champions, Thetford Cub and runners -up, Blewbury B.

Among the teams counted as champions are OLSTA Youth League winner, Bellmore Second as well as runner-up, Leigtonce Takraw School. Hundredstar Youth League Season 1 winner, Eagleworth Academy, and runner-up, Goatiledge B represented Hundredstar. The involvement of the junior champions was very clear and enlivened the tournament for the first time.

Undoubtedly, Bellmore Second is too strong for the other five teams, this is clear with them winning nine out of ten matches, and by having 27 points, they are clearly crowned the champions of the first edition of the OLSTA Youth Shield. Representatives of STAL, Blewbury B, and Thetford Cub were only able to finish fifth and sixth with only being able to win four out of ten games. But they could try again in the next second edition, provided they have to win the STAL youth league again. Hopefully, with this tournament, we can develop the young talents of sepak takraw at an early stage, and then become a link to the main team of each country.

In Otksarin, there are no Sepak Takraw clubs at the moment. For the yearly competitions, a group of 6 players will form up a team and participate to be the regu division champions. As such, the teams are selected based on their standard, trained partnership. You pick one partnership at a time. Usually, the starting partnership is the first one. Only under special circumstances in the group stage, will the backups be used.
