The Internal Tension Rises...

14:00 Brasília Standard

Rio Times logo appears, news jingle plays.

"This is the Rio Times News, live from Rio De Janiero."

Pedro Castro appears.

"With the election over the last weeks in the PCB's favor, a loose coalition against Socialists called the 'Grand Coalition' had formed, with some friction done over a disagreement with the Social Democratic party in that coalition about the PCB's stance on geopolitics, with most of the PCB having a neutral geopolitical stance. However, the coalition is still united against socialist and many rightist groups in the areas that had been supporting the National Democratic Union threaten to secede and form its own government. Tensions between the newly elected administration of Otávio Mangabeira and the coalition rises, with an uncertainty of what would happen in the future.

I'm Pedro Castro, and that was the 14:00 news from the Rio Times."

The News from Mexico

Zapatistas & the Communards Advance

The Communards and the Zapatistas have been advancing greatly within the formerly government-controlled territory as the military now leaderless and abandoned by their supposed leader, had stopped fighting, many seeking to join other causes of the now Mexican Civil-War, the armored convoy of the Communards has also arrived in Mexico City to be greeted in celebration, the revolutionary chapter ends with the death of the "legitimate" government, and a new one of civil-war begins between the left and the right.

The Communard, Zapatista & Magonista Proclamation of a new nation

Although the war is yet to be finished with the holding of Mexico City and its industry the alliance between the three revolutionary uprisings of the Zapatistas, Communards, and the Magonistas, all three have proclaimed the Mexican People's Republic as the true government, and the merging of the three groups into one has slowly begun in leadership, structure, and beliefs, they say once the civil war is over that there will be a great congress between the three for the final proclamation for the Mexican People's Republic.

The Trigarante Counter-Proclamation

Of course, the Trigarante army would not remain silent after the conjoint proclamation of their enemies, they have proclaimed that there's no legitimate government other than themselves, and that proclamation has included the sending of letters with brutal images of them decapitating the corpses of fallen Zapatistas.

Split of the Cristeros

As the Cristeros keep losing and losing territory to the Magonista cavalry, they have split in two, between the Army of God, and those who have pledged loyalty to the Trigarante Army, their territories are further thrown into disarray, chaos now reigns in the North East of the country as the Cristeros collapse in on themselves and the loose nature of their religious bound group.

Yucatanese Nationalists

As the Trigarante Army, and the Zapatistas close in on the Peninsula, in Campeche, the state capital of Campeche people have risen in revolt declaring that the Yucatan peninsula shall become its own independent state, how will the Trigarantes & the Zapatistas react?

News from Haiti

Elections have begun across Haiti, and so far the People’s Party has a strong showing in the polls. Party Chairman Thomas Lambert, who is also the People’s Party’s candidate for the presidency, has expressed excitement, saying “there is much hope for the people and future of Haiti.”

Port Au-Prince; 1:39 PM

President Louis Borno has been paying attention to polls and pending election results. And he was, to say the least, not happy. He called his top aide and his Minister of State to a meeting earlier, and the two men would walk in. Borno noticed, then greeted them.

“Ah, welcome. Have a seat,” he’d say with a blend of enthusiasm and monotone. As the two men took a seat, Borno’s facade of smiles came crashing down. “I’m sure the two of you have been paying attention to the election…”

“Indeed, Mr. President,” said the Minister of State

“I…am not happy. Not at all. We are about to lose our control, our power, to a bunch of filthy socialists. We cannot allow ourselves to become this way, lest we end up like Cuba. We cannot, I repeat, CANNOT, let the People’s Party in power,” he’d say, his voice rising as he went on.

“Yes, but how do we prevent this from happening? We are quite low on options,” went the aide.

“We call elections off, delay them, kick this thing down the road. We’ve done it before, I’m sure we can do it again.”

“But how do we justify this to the public?”

“We say there were integrity problems, blame the People’s Party for rigging the election in their favor.”

“That could work, but I don’t imagine anyone liking it very much,” said the Minister of State

“Doesn’t matter of anyone likes it; it only matters that the socialist People’s Party is kept out of power- by any means possible.”

“Hmm…so I assume you’re going along with this?”

“Yes. I’ll make the announcement soon.”

“Very well, Mr. President.”

BREAKING NEWS

The Office of President Louis Borno has announced that elections have been called off and are to be postponed once again by one year. The statement alleged “election integrity problems that are suspected to be the result of interference from a domestic source, most likely the People’s Party of Haiti”. The People’s Party vehemently denied these allegations, saying “these are a sad attempt to suppress the will of the people of Haiti. It is a blatantly dictatorial action meant to keep President Louis Borno and his bourgeois friends in power, and we call on the people to resist this debauchery at any and all costs.

Port Au-Prince; 5:49 PM; Post-Announcement

People’s Party Chairman Thomas Lambert sat in his office, preparing for what was to come. This had been planned since the 1944 elections were delayed. As people protested outside in droves, Thomas dialed a number on his phone, and when the other side if the line picked up , he spoke:

“The time has come. Start the Revolution.”

Reporter-Alexander Sigmund, Station 1
Balkan War drawing to a close, Greek offensive to be renewed, Bulgaria deploys mountain crackers!

The Bulgarian offensive against Serbia has been renewed, as Bulgaria has deployed an extraordinary device aimed at clearing the path through mountains. The device, called the Chukŭt na Tor, has been called by many as the mountain cracker outside of Bulgaria. The bomb fragments into eight smaller shells, which are detonated by a remote radio center, or in case of specialized bombs, a pressure detector. They are dropped on mountains, and due to the multiple detonations on all sides, the mountain crumbles. Images of Bulgarian soldiers in gas masks have surfaced, walking through villages and attacking any remaining partisans and rebels. While the Bulgarians did hand out gas masks to villages and monetarily compensated ones damaged by either the bombings or huge amounts of dust thrown in the air, nothing was done to reprimand pilots who failed to keep the villages safe. The Bulgarian forces have only recently begun to push further, but a full offensive won't start for a day or two. Greece tried a desperate offensive with their American reinforcements, but it stalemated, despite the fact Greeks had numerical superiority and probably should've won their last large offensive as well. Carol II, pretender to the Romanian throne, said form his home in Georgia that the Greeks were so weak, Sardinia could beat them if they tried, and that he was ashamed he allied with dolts like them. However, the Greeks aren't the only ones underperforming, as Belgrade has fallen to the Austrians, likely due to most assuming Karl would be peaceful. While the Serbian army still remains, with their allies either being beaten or running for their lives, it seems the war will end with a reassurance of Bulgarian dominance in the Balkans. Perhaps this time, forever.

As a side note, Germany let Hawaii into the Reichspakt. Mücke, seemingly excited, has asked the Kaiser and Chancellor for permission to visit Hawaii on a goodwill mission.
India and Pakistan at War!

Following Pakistans rejection of the ultimatum, India declared war on Pakistan, sending in a huge army. However, it seems the Pakistani fought smart, not hard. The Indian Armies were pushed back from Quetta, and stalemated in Amritsar and Lahore, failing to capture them but not loosing much either. The few good news is that Afghanistan entered to get some lands back from Pakistan, but as of now they are being pushed back as well, that the protests in Pakistan intensified, and that India decision to pay Nepal for its lands payed off, keeping Nepal from aiding Pakistan.

Reporter-Lewis Joson, Station 18
Mexican Developments: Part Ten or Something

The Mexican government has mostly collapsed after a revolt in Mexico city fully paralyzed them. Furthermore, the Cristeros united with the Monarchists, while the left-wing factions allied as well before declaring a unified government. Cardenas escaped to the USSA, likely hoping they would spare him. Instead, he was shot by the Mexican exiles for treason. Manuel Ávila Camacho tried to flee Northward, declaring the Mexican Republic on the way, but made a mistake of attempting to expand his domain head on. This simply caused the Cristeros and Monarchists to stop their infighting and restore an alliance, defeating him in the Battle of Saltillo, where he was shot by a stray bullet. The Cristeros who broke the temporary alliance were quickly defeated, as defections were low by that point. The Yucatan peninsula, however, fell to the Yucatanese nationalists, which was surprising due to the Yucatan populations original support of the monarchists. The Cristeros and Monarchists however, remained allies. The Yucatan government consists mostly of republicans, though a small chunk of rabid nationalists and monarchist movements have had a sudden revival and comprise about 10% of the government, with the former believing Mexicans are weak offshoots of Spanish people who relied on them to subjugate local culture. The remnants of Cardenas' faction are mostly going into guerrila tactics, falling to the enemy, or becoming mercenaries. Lastly, the Totalist government in exile declared its dissolution into the Sonora Socialist American State, Bajio Socialist American State, Veracruz Socialist American State, Coastal Socialist American State, and Greater Yucatan Socialist American State, with Baja California being 'sold' to America. This is viewed by many as a sign America is preparing to annex Mexico.

Grand Coalition refuses to form separate government, kicks out radical members!

The Grand Coalition in Brazil responded to calls for it to form its own government as not supportive of the whole coalition, saying they would resist Socialist influence peacefully. This has caused friction, due to monarchist and nationalist opposition to the socialists going to the extent of them supporting the idea of leaving Mexico, causing the coalition to declare it would only be between the Social Democrats and National Democratic Union, kicking out the Fringe elements. With 63%, it still holds the chamber of deputies and has now stabilized somewhat.

Revolution in Haiti!

Haiti has been ruled by a laissez-faire regime, which many believe to be a dictatorship, since the former USA occupied it. After much exploitation, it seemed the workers had enough, and began a revolt. Many escaped to the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, and began fighting the government troops, before taking the city. President Borno fled south, and the workers quickly took Nord and Nord-Est, before pushing and encircling the lightly defended North-Quest alongside Northern Artibonite. America's reaction is unclear, though given the domination of radical socialist, with the rest being evenly divided between nationalist totalists and syndicalist, aid is probably not coming for a while.

Reporter-John Banes, Station 14
Morocco begins elections

Morocco has now begun its first election. While there are no parties, major issues which have united candidates include industrialization, presence of German businesses in the protectorate, and further reform.

Dominican experiences riots, street battles

With Haiti erupting into civil war, the Dominican Republic has experienced riots. Socialists have taken to protests, but were beaten by right wingers, many of whom accuse them of being puppets to the socialist Haitians.

Secession!

Over the last week, the Grand Coalition had kicked out the radical rightist groups as a response to the call for succession as a new government. The rightist radical groups, enraged by this, have been preparing paramilitary forces to seize states from the National Democratic Union, and secede as a radical, pro-German, anti-American, nationalist government. This day may be the dark day for Brazil and its people...

9:00 Brasília Standard

The paramilitaries march into the government building of Mato Grosso, they have started to storm it for control of the state and is now lunging for it.

"We are here for a great Brazil! Cease!"

The Mato Grosso state police approach them, they soon lay up arms, and soon, the both open fire.

Ultimately, at that battle, the paramilitaries have defeated the police and have taken control of the state government of Mato Grosso.

About an hour later, The paramilitaries in Rio Grande do Sul follow suit and take control of the state government of Rio Grande do Sul, and soon, many more hours later, many states in southern and southwestern brazil had paramilitaries take control of their state governments, and soon, the nationalist paramilitary controlled state governments secede from the now PCB controlled United States of Brazil, as the Brazilian Government of National Salvation, controlled by the nationalist fringes and paramilitaries.

15:00 Brasília Standard

Rio Times logo appears and news jingle plays.

"This is the Rio Times, live from Rio de Janiero, bringing you an emergency announcement."

Pedro Castro appears.

"This is an urgent announcement, nationalist paramilitaries have took control of the Brazilian states in the south and southwest and declared secession as the Brazilian Government of National Salvation and Brazil is now in a state of civil war with them. A state of emergency has been declared by new Communist-Syndicalist president Otávio Mangabeira. Stay tuned for more urgent information."

Brazil had now came under a civil war between nationalist and socialist forces.

The News from Mexico

Zapatistas, Yucatanese Nationalists, and the Monarchists clash

After those who wanted the banner of the Republic of the Yucatan to fly again over their little Peninsula, they have fought against two forces they consider as conquerors, they have fought three-way battles between them, the Zapatistas & the monarchists, truly chaotic, the Monarchists suffered a set back in their Yucatanese support but they stand their ground and with German material support they continue their army, quite possibly the best supplied of all the armies, militias or guerrillas marching in Mexico, still they had to actually use that advantage as they were now the closest to a professional army in civil war Mexico, and the problem with professional armies is that they can't deal with guerrilla quite as well, meanwhile the Zapatistas keep marching and advancing further into the Peninsula.

Communard, Magonista, and Zapatistas advance

Soon with their united front and the collapsing lines of the Cristeros, they began to advance greatly into Cristero territory, the small communard convoy of captured motorized units was crucial to quick advances as well as the cavalry of the Magonistas which only grew in size as they recruited more men and got more men & women horses, forwards they went together to drive the remaining Cristeros from Mexico, they Cristeros were retreating to prepare their last stand in the state of Nuevo Leon, as the Cristeros were retreating to defensible positions, the problem is its hard to flee when you're mostly infantry and one of your enemies whole thing seems to be cavalry battalions who can catch up to you quite easily as you retreat.

The Arrival

Alexander Sigmund: Alright boys, we're here.
Howard Lovecraft: For pete's sake Sigmund, I said we look across the sea, not ACROSS THE ATLANTIC AND INDIAN OCEANS! Plus, the people here a glorified n*-
John Banes: Relax, Lovecraft, there's plenty of settlers here.
Joshua Philter: I agree with Lovecraft. Plus, this isn't a neutral nation, its a right-wing superpower.
Alexander Sigmund: A colony of a right wing superpower, Joshua, and a far-off one ruled by a borderline socialist at that.
Pete Jameson: Alright then, lets begin.

Reporter-Alexander Sigmund, Station 6
Greece and Serbia surrender, Bulgaria and Austria propose treaties!

So we had to leave Tuscany. Don't worry, we're elsewhere now, and that elsewhere might get us back to America one day. Coming to the news, Serbia surrendered, followed by Greece. With the fall of Belgrade, Tito has announced a surrender. The Greeks, expecting to face the onslaught of the Bulgarian army and the mountain crackers, capitulated as well. With that, Bulgaria has won the Fifth Balkan War, which it likely intends to be its last. Austria has proposed a punitive treaty on Serbia which, while not taking any land from the country, would in essence turn it into an easily controlled puppet state. Bulgaria has accepted most provisions of the treaty, though they have asked that they receive Kosovo due to them holding it during the war, and asked that Montenegro be annexed into the USGA as a federal state with Serbia loosing most or all of its navy. Montenegrins have taken this time to campaign for either independence, union with Austria, or continued existence in Serbia, leading many to ask for a referendum. Many in Austria want to recover Coastal Montenegro, which Serbia occupied a few years ago, and Austria mostly ignored. The Coastal Montenegrins are generally richer and more in favor of union with Austria. Greece was occupied, and collaborators have installed the Tsars son, Prince Kiril, as King, though his virginity might be a problem down the line. And finally, in a surprising move, Tsar Ferdinand I declared Bulgaria will join the Reichspakt. He said the Kaiser is not like his father, and that the Americans threaten Bulgaria's survival. "Bulgaria has fought side by side with Germany multiple times before, and they will do so again" he finished. Other matters discussed in the speech included the Ottomans also edging closely to Germany prompting the Tsars decision. Carol Caraiman, pretender to the Romanian throne, screamed in anger, called the ruler of Wallachia, his legally grey son, a "bastard", and locked himself in his room.

At the end of one war, is another begun...

The Brazilians aren't as lucky, as nationalists have left the government and stormed the paramilitaries of nationalists, with monarchists allying them despite doing no storming for now. Likely due to being supported by less than 5% of the population, the group has made a straight push towards the capital, and though their support is rising in the conquered territories, the Brazilians in ones still controlled by the government despise them and have increasingly shifted support to the socialists. Indeed, the Grand Coalition remnants proposed a unity government to the President, alongside some independents, until the rebels are dealt with.

Cristeros Collapse, Yucatanese Nationalists take Peninsula!

The Cristeros have finally collapsed, their forces beaten and surrounded, though thats not to say they died in a whimper. In the city of Santiago, a cristero force held out against the Magonistas for a week, bombarded by shells, and on the final day fought street to street battles before being repealed. Yesterday, however, the Cristeros high command was dissolved, and their forces either isolated, defeated, or absorbed into the monarchists. Speaking of monarchists, the Yucatanese nationalists managed to organize a huge offensive, utilizing complex jungle and explosive warfare, causing a revolt in the Yucatan to take most of the peninsula and push the monarchists and Zapatistas out a good chunk of their territories. The Republic also quickly disbanded nationalist militias who killed spanish civilians, which ended quickly and resulted in the collapse of the nationalist movement. The monarchists fled to parts of Northern Mexico, where they have reorganized their army and suspended their promises of autonomy for the Yucatan. However, in the mountainous and sometimes colder environment, their forces will have a tough time. The remaining Cristeros have begun selling their skills off to the remaining sides, or began guerilla warfare, with the ones who've done neither being mopped up by the leftists and monarchists, who ended their alliance.
Civil War in Egypt!

With the protests having heated up, the government of Egypt responded with shootings. While no one expected these to calm anyone, they did result in a full blown revolt declaring the Sudan referendum illegal, something no one did. Now, the Faruqists and Republicans have allied temporarily, and taken many cities in the North, with the government deciding not to move to the new battlefront of Alexandria and instead to the Southern city of Luxor. The Ottomans are already sending soldiers assisting their protectorate.

Coup in the Far Eastern Republic!

A week ago, Semyonov, the President of the Far Eastern Republic, had revealed he appointed Diterikhs as Prime Minister. This was viewed by many as a move to stop Diterikhs from coming to power and placating him, or at least getting him close enough to kill. The move failed, however, as Diterikhs rode in at 6 AM Monday morning Vladivostok standard time, convinced the army to join him, and overthrew Semyonov. The coup was bloodless, with Smeyonov resigning, parliament declaring Diterikhs president, and parliament being dissolved. Semyonov has apparently been sent to the North in order to train new recruits, and photos prove this. The Japanese diet has reacted calmly, as Diterikhs said he intended to remain in the co-prosperity sphere, though given he has already made actions to build more factories shows he may want less reliance on Japanese goods. War minister Roman von Ungern Sterberg has said that actions to promote equality in the workplace need to be taken, even with Jews, while the little known Prime Minister, former poet and former journalist Sergey Taboritsky has said minorities and criminals should be forced to work in the factories, unlike Russians, who should be in the army. Diterikhs has been silent on the issue.

The News from México

The Magonistas & Communards advance on the north, and the Zapatistas retreat a bit

As the Cristeros collapse and leave basically defenseless territories the Magonistas & the Communards advance together, meanwhile the remains of the center of the country are being swept by the Communards & Zapatistas, meanwhile, the Yucatan peninsula is being taken slowly by the nationalists, the Zapatistas slowly being driven back outside the three states that make out the peninsula, talks of peace between the Zapatistas and the Nationalists are being talked about.

The desperate march

As the Monarchists now disorganized after leaving to the North they have begun desperate marches to hold more territory in a defensible position before the Communards and Magonistas begin attacking.

Zapatistas, Magonistas and the Communards plan

As now they hold most territory in the country they've begun to plan the reconstruction of infrastructure around the country and to begin rebuilding of the country, its workplaces, and of its safety from bandits & crime which has risen as the civil war rages and most men & women who can are fighting in the civil war.

Indian Main Command Center, New Delhi, India

"Situation on the ground, Corporal?" Secretary of National Defense Chokkar was getting a status update on the frontline situation from his chief of staff. "Overall, less successful than expected. The offensive on Quetta was completely stalled, but we did manage to gain some ground. They are now engaged in heavy fighting with the Pakistan Western Army. Meanwhile, the Center and Eastern Fronts have made it to their objectives, but before they could cross the Indus River, Pakistan blew all the bridges across the river, stalling our offensive. It seems like Pakistan is trying to buy time for them to finish off Afghanistan, in order for them to be able to shift the troops on the Afghani front and onto the Center and East, where they seem to be undermanned."

"I assume the front-line commanders have a plan to take Lahore and Amritsar. We need those cities to have a foothold across the Indus." "Yes, sir. The commanders of the Center and Eastern Fronts have requested pontoon bridges and inflatable rafts to be brought up. They'll use rafts to transport engineers across the river, under the cover of night and with Gurkha support. Construction will be done overnight, under cover of an artillery bombardment with the artillery units of both the Center and Eastern Fronts. The bridges should be finished by morning, where the tanks will then lead the assault."

"And do we have a solution to the Afghan situation? While we didn't expect them to join, they are massively underequipped to be facing the Pakistani Army." "Well, the commanding officer of the 5th Army, on the border with Iran, has begun to transfer his army into Afghanistan, to assist the Afghanis in holding the Pakistani's off." "Good. I want a report on how the operations go."

Lahore, Pakistan, Indian Center Front

"Where are those rafts?!" Said the Commander of the 5th Engineer Battalion, Dharya Mandalik, yelled. "Their coming up now, sir." All of a sudden, dozens of engineers and Gurkhas arrive carrying rafts and construction gear. "We got until morning to do this, radio for the artillery units to begin firing." The radioman does as is asked, and about 5 minutes later, smoke rounds mixed with high explosive began to land near known Pakistani positions inland. "Now's our chance, get moving!"

All across the Center and Eastern Fronts, rafts were crossing the Indus River, loaded with engineers, commando infantry, and construction equipment. After a long 30 minutes of rafting, the Gurkhas and engineers have 90% of their forces on the North Bank of the Indus River, and are beginning their work on the Pontoon bridges. In Lahore, the commander of the 4th Gurkhas Battalion has his forces storm the outskirts of Lahore, taking buildings critical to over watching the construction of the Pontoon Bridges in the area, while the engineers on both sides get to work. Similar events take place at the bridges over in Amritsar.

By morning, the pontoon bridges were strong enough that a few tanks (2-3) could cross at a time, along with a few squads of infantry. As soon as he hears word that the bridges are completed, Lt. General Shrinagesh orders a full assault. The artillery opens fire again, gunfire rages in the streets of Lahore between Gurkhas and Pakistani, and the Indian Army begins to roll in in force.

Mexican Civil War drawing to a close, Monarchists fortify and people's republic considers talks with Yucatan

Following the now two-and a half months long war in Mexico, it seems the socialist support has allowed them to triumph again. The monarchists remain, but have now resorted to fortifying their positions, of which they only have 40% or so fortified, and half the army is pointed backwards instead of manning the fortifications anyways. But it seems someone besides the socialists may win. Many Zapatistas have suggested talks with the Republic of the Yucatan, though this was met with animosity from the other factions, who believe the Yucatan rebels can be crushed. The only full on opponents for now are the fringe Maximistas, however.

Pakistan supplied by Americans!?

It seems the strength of the Pakistani has been found out. After the last push by the Indians ended in failure, it was revealed the Americans were supplying Pakistan. No one is sure why, though many believe the Americans are trying to gain favors with the Pakistan government and overthrow them. It has also been suggested that Jay Lovestone suggested this, due to being the most pragmatic of Browders associates.

Arabia explodes into civil war!

Following Egypts explosion into civil war, it seems the Arabs have gotten the whiff of rebellion as well. Four sides emerged, however-the House of Saud, which returned to lead its supporters, the United Arab Emirates, made of other tribes, the Ikhwan, who believe in establishing an Arabian Holy State, alongside potentially a huge emirate, and the remnants of the Rashidis, who the Ottomans are quickly helping.

Countermovement in South Africa against monarchist autonomists!

Following the growth in popularity of local monarchs within South Africa, socialists and Pan-Africanists have taken to the streets protesting them. For now, the protests and counterprotests are mostly limited to shouting matches or seeing who can play their own songs better, though there have been some instances of fighting.

(OOC Note: Good luck with making the monarchists pull a full 180 turn while they are disorganized while the Magonistas & Communards advance, of course, we can't stop the shipments of European troops but can they arrive before the monarchists are nothing more than a few towns or insignificant enough?)

The News from México & the Yucatan

The guillotine, back in fashion?

As the civil war comes closer to wrapping up the question of making the gears of a functioning state have to be re-started, the Communards have chosen to bring back a revolutionary tool from the old, the guillotine, especially as the communards lack the capacity to be able to hold all their prisoners, either from former fighters or from classic bandits & criminals that are caught, the situation especially harsh in Mexico City which is still fully controlled by the Communards, the decision is quite controversial of course, the Zapatistas & Magonistas both disapprove, but not much has been done regarding that as the Communards keep killing many with Guillotines, but the system does seem to be working effectively even at the called brutality by those who oppose this act, this issue is expected to be resolved by the First Mexican Congress of Revolutionary Factions.

Truce between the People's Republic and the Yucatan Republic

As the talks between the Zapatistas and the Yucatanese nationalists keep going, a temporal truce has been signed to end hostilities, for the time being, the truce also has stipulated that the state boundaries set before the civil war to be respected for the time being and for all fighting to cease.

Power struggles in the Yucatan

As the Republic of the Yucatan proclaims itself, it now has the question of what it wants to be, nationalists rise & fall in the messy politicking, this is quite the pickle this young state finds itself in, especially as peace talks are still ongoing, some want to establish a proper free-market liberal democracy, others want to establish a social democracy, while a minority want to establish a people's republic similar to the one proclaimed by the Magonistas, Communards & Zapatistas.

The Monarchist Response

Since the throne of Iturbide & Maximilian of Habsburg is inherently tied to Austria, we support this deal, though we do have to inform you our capabilities to wage war with basically the rest of the country isn't quite there, especially as the Communard Armoured Vehicles Convoy approaches our territories alongside the now famous (in México) Magonista cavalry, we have good weapons but we don't have the men to hold our lines, nor the morale to keep fighting for long, we can try to last for as long as we can, but we doubt your military might alone will be enough, especially as it is rumored the Zapatistas & Communards have begun to build the industry needed to build a navy from scratch, we believe ourselves to be able to stand for one month more with the current pace of our enemies, and with the dire food situation, but we hope we can at least secure our position.

[Another OOC note: The Mexican People's Republic isn't friendly to the US, the Magonistas, Zapatistas, & Communards all three hate the prospect of possible US intervention from the North.]

Kaiser Wilhem III after hearing that Austria is sending troops to Mexico has decided to increase the amount of volunteers to 250,000 and and including heavy armor such as the Panther medium tank, the King Tiger heavy tank, the newest version of the Ju-88 Stuka fighter bomber and Germany's first main battle tank, the Leopard 1 which is equipped with a 105 mm gun. With these weapons being sent, the Kaiser knew this would be more than enough to stop the Socialist government of Mexico.

Mexico brings back guillotines, Austria sends forces to help monarchists, Yucatan achieve de facto independence!

With the Mexican Civil War closing off rather quickly, the communards have begun to deal with traitors. By this point, all the Republican holdouts have either capitulated or instituted guerilla warfare, with the Cristeros about to do the same. The other factions have been cold to this, but the restoration of the guillotine wasn't the only problem. The Yucatan has announced that it has signed a truce with the Zapatistas(and presumably the other factions), which caused its own miniature power struggle, even if most factions support a free market. The Communards and Magonistas have spoke out against it. The ceasefire, and the restoration of the guillotine set of a growth in the Maximist movement, reviving it after its seeming death. The aging Calles has given was to his oldest protege, Emilio Portes Gil. The Maximists have said the guillotine is not enough, and formed paramilitary squads to hunt down the remaining rebels, guerilla's or not. The monarchists haven't given up, as 450 thousand men will arrive from Austria and Germany in about eight or seven days.

Romanian Republicans Rise

Following the defeat of Romania, a republican movement has appeared, centered around Moldavia. The Republicans have set up chapters in Bessarabia, Wallachia, and even a few in Dobruja alongside the Danube Delta. King Albert I of Moldavia has not denounced the movement and allowed them to run candidates.

Clashes in South Africa!

The situation has intensified in the country, as the supporters of the monarchs created a new ideology, localism, based on local tribal and ethnic governance, in exact opposite of the Federalists, who advocate more general and more centralized federal model. The clashes have begun to appear more often, and rogue members of the military began putting down both.

Lahore, Pakistan, Indian controlled-side of the city.

Lahore has seen better days. A few months ago it was one of Pakistan's biggest cities, now it is being torn apart by machine gun fire, tanks, and all sorts of large scale urban warfare. With Pakistan being supplied by the Americans (OOC: Which how do they have a route to Pakistan in the first place?) the battle for the twin cities on the Indus has been slow-going, although the Pakistani offensive into Afghanistan was halted. Now a plan was needed to force the Pakistanis to leave at least Lahore, to give the Indian Defense Forces the beachhead they needed for Phase 2 of Operation Jade Dragon.

"So, anyone have a plan for pushing the Pakistani's out?" As usual for a frontline meeting, it was a strung together group of commanders and divisional-level generals trying to figure out a way out of the stalemate." We have the bridgeheads, but even with our advantage in technology and numbers, we haven't been able to push. So, we need a operational plan. Any ideas?"

The commander of the 4th Gurkhas steps up to bat: "Let me and my commando teams infiltrate main enemy strongholds and take them out from the inside, and then the main army can continue it's assault with a massive push. If we can just take Lahore, we have the war pretty much won."

The plan was bold, and would take at least a night to execute, but the Lt. General gave it the go ahead. Gurkhas began infiltrating main enemy resistance centers as the night progressed, and by morning, the Indian offensive resumed.

Presidential Palace, New Delhi, India

Jayakar is in a meeting with Nehru and Chokkar. "Mr. Chokkar, you want to do what exactly?" "I want you to authorize a naval buildup. We have a powerful army, and an expanding air force, but almost no naval vessels to speak of. But, we do have British designs for ships, and I want to authorize construction for a few of them." "What would this buildup program involve?"

"First, the construction of a sizeable escort fleet of around 20 destroyers and 3 light cruisers, according to British documents, the L-class destroyer and the Minotaur-class light cruiser should suit our needs just fine. Second, a starting capable submarine force, of unknown capacity. 3rd, and the most ambitious, we join the major powers with the construction of a aircraft carrier."

"One and two sound easy enough, but an aircraft carrier is a whole other challenge. Our steel capabilities can produce enough for a fleet carrier, but we only have one shipyard capable of putting the hull together. It can be done, but it could all be sabotaged in one go. Also, do we even have a design for a fleet carrier." "Indeed, Mr. President, when King Edward VIII was defeated, we also captured what remains of the Admiralty Design Board. While we don't have the designers, so continuing naval design will be difficult, we have some of their original concepts, which gives us a base point. These include our new class of carriers, the New Delhi Class, previously known as the Malta class." "Alright, you have my permission, begin your program. Mr. Nehru, prepare to jump on any foreign backlash this might generate. Dismissed."
