YN's Secondary Weapons

Postby Penguinya » Fri Jan 22, 2021 11:26 am

The title explains it all. I've seen YN's Main Rifle or something of the sort, so show your nation's military's secondary weapon/weapons!

Penguinya's main handguns are the Glock 19 and Glock 18c. Sometimes we use other weapons, such as the Makarov PM or even sub-machineguns.

Anatoliyanskiy, whilst it does not have a functional military of its own, does have a bodyguard unit for its Chairman (nicknamed the Piesiyackiya Protectors) who use glocks as defensive weapons in case his life is endangered.

The Shturmovogo Orudiya Devyatnadtsat' Devyanosto Shest' (Translates to Assault Gun Model Nineteen Ninety Six in English) is the primary rifle of Tsarstvo Alyaski's army. It is a renamed Armalite 18 with slight modifications.
The second most popular weapon is the more modern Model' karabina dve tysyachi semnadtsat' (Translates to Carbine Gun Model Two Thousand and Seventeen), or K.O 2017 for short. This is an Alaskan modified SIG MCX, imported from countries like the USA.

Update:

The Tsarstvo Alyaski army has two official sidearms, one a fully automatic machine pistol, and another a semi - automatic pistol.

The machine pistol is known as the Pistolet-pulemet bol'shoy ognevoy moshchi, or better known by it's international, commercial name the Minebea PM-9.

The other sidearm is called the Kitchener - Krepost' Aleksandrovich Sotrudnichestvo Pistolet Dve tysyachi, or by it's more popular, colloquial name: The 'Kinzhal' (Dagger in English). Native to both Tsarstvo Alyaski and Canada, it is a joint cooperative design by the Tsarstvo Alyaski national weapons research bureau and the Canadian company Colt Canada. A semi automatic pistol, it's design is inspired by the Beretta 9000.

The "secondary weapon" and greatest utility tool of most combat synths ranging from infantry to warships is the Multi Spectrum Quantum Dot Array (MQDA), an arrangement of quantum dot smartmatter integrated into the skin with a variety of applications, including steering electromagnetic beams from the ultraviolet to radio spectrum for attack, communication and ECM as well as shifting into stealthy metamaterials, supercharged temporary armor and solar photovoltaic systems.

The Etoile Arcture Defence Forces issues a number of secondary service weapons that are chambered in the 6.5×25 mm CBJ saboted round with subcalibre insert that can also be easily converted to fire conventional 9×19 mm Parabellum ball ammunition.

The standard sidearm is the P360 Azrael Combat Pistol, a short recoil-operated double-action/single-action semiautomatic handgun. It is commonly issued to the commissioned and non-commissioned officers of all service branches as their primary backup weapon.

Image

The standard submachine gun is the VP90 MK 3 Velociraptor, a delayed blowback operated machine pistol commonly issued to vehicle crew, aircrew and crew-served weapon team members as a personal defence weapon.

Image

The K2 Sæx is also widely issued to personnel as a combat knife (i.e. weapon of last resort) and survival knife.

The Ripoll P-126 and P-129. 9x19mm parabellum by charactheristics external appearance is similar to SiG 226 and P129. In some cases FN Five-Seven and FN-P90 are used.

Glock 17 is the standard issue sidearm, and sometimes we also have CZ-75 and 82 series as reserves.

We also have officer's sabres though the last time they were used in combat were 1914, and are often just ceremonial, but swords are standard issue for some kit. Hussar swords are what some people call them, as hussar units all had them even non-officers as light scout raiders to supplement the larger army, some were flying pegasus dragoners too, though dragoners used firearms, since early guns looked like dragons.

Our main weapon is the AK 47, and we have grenades and bayonets as our secondary weapons. Police have batons, handcuffs, and revolvers. Although they can be issued with AK 47s too and on rare occasions, grenade launchers and the like.

Ausslaugandian Sidearms

Ausslaugandian gun control is a metaphorical double-edged sword. On one hand, gun violence is almost to completely nonexistent, thanks in large part to former imperial jurisdiction passed over from the Anglo-Dutch Union. This doesn't mean that gun violence is eradicated, however, as the criminal underworld always finds numerous ways to smuggle and bear arms whenever and wherever possible.

Perhaps the greatest problem of all is not anyone illegally possessing and selling firearms, but rather, the occasional hostage situations or violent crimes (i.e. smash-and-grab, holdups, etc.). In those situations, Ausslaugandian law enforcement deploy Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs), Specialist Firearms Officers (SFOs), and Counter Terrorist Specialist Firearms Officers (CTSFOs). While ordinary Ausslaugandian police officers are trained and armed with tasers, only AFOs, SFOs, and CTSFOs have access and training with firearms.

Among their disposal, there are two pistols:

Image
As expensive it was in the 80s, the P7 was an excellent successor for law enforcement's weapon of choice: the Walther PPK. The need for accuracy, simplicity, and comfort were necessities among Ausslaugandian police, not only because violent crimes were low, but whenever they did happen, police officers wanted to end the situation with the least amount of shots fired. While the PPK fit the bill, the lackluster stopping power became problematic, especially in the wake of global terrorism, least of all the tragedy of the 1972 Munich Olympics Massacre.

Image
In any situation where a suspect or combatant has body armour, Ausslaugandian law enforcement and intelligence agencies rely on the unique ballistic performance of the FN 5.7x28mm NATO. In turn, within the absence of SMGs (P90 or MP5) and Assault Rifles (M4/AR15s), the FN Fiveseven is a last resort among the Troopstaffs and police alike. Most notably, unlike the P7, the FN Fiveseven is sparingly equipped and used, both because of the ammunition's price tag and the weapon's lethality.

our primary weapon is not a fire arm, but appears in general rather like a walking stick, though one capable of projecting a number of energy fields and beams.

our secondary 'weapons' resemble decorative bracers worn on each wrist, and a belt, worn as a belt.
the bracers are in fact another energy beam device when brought into proximity of each other and moved in a certain way in relation thereto.
the belt is a psionic tuning mechanism.

we do not generally engage in organized military combat, but do have the means, and prefer for it to be of such a somewhat inconspicuous and unexpected nature.

beyond such personal devices, there is much of our technology that is of an unobviously muti-functional and multi-puposive nature.

Standard issue sidearm for Soldiers and militia is the Farrasin Armaments Cooperative (FAC) PB-9, so named for it's use of the 9x19mm parabellum round. Curiously, uses a cylindrical barrel (think Ruger Mk4 for an approximate mental image), allegedly for ease of maintainence, though FAC is known for their unorthodox weapon designs.

Handguns must be bought and kept by the servicemen himself from a list of authorized models for use, this explains the relative large amount of service pistols in use.

Provincial local police forces usually use the same or similar handguns. Police and intelligence servicemen also can own their service handguns, from a list of authorized service models (the same of the military), although in the case of the police forces this is not mandatory or a tradition like in the military.
Meanwhile, 9x19mm Parabellum pistols, .38 Special revolvers and .357 Magnum revolvers are the most popular handguns within the civilian population, with private gun ownership being very common in the country due to legal and cultural reasons, according to statistics released by the industry and gun stores about their sales.

My country uses the HK USP in .45 ACP as it's primary weapon, however due to the adoption of newer caseless cartridges, there is both a caseless .45 ACP, and 5.7mm variant meant to mimic the ballistics. The lower weight allows a far larger volume of ammunition to be carried. The caseless 5.7mm ammunition is 4 times lighter than 5.56mm or 9mm ammunition, allowing a lot more ammunition to be carried.
