[The Near Islands]

The Near Islands wishes to extend its warmest welcome to the International Community.

Best efforts notwithstanding, the Near Islands has for most of its existence been stuck within a state of isolation within the greater international community. We have had mixed contact with our closest neighbors of the United States and Russia, but otherwise, our nation has been ignored by other nations. Notting this, the Near Islands hereby announces the opening of an embassy program to other nations. While we do not have much to offer in terms of geopolitical, economic, or martial importance, we do hope that your nation or organization - presuming it has good intent - decides to open up to the Near Islands.

The Near Islands Embassy Program is run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, currently headed by Unahlax Potter. Mr. Potter will read over your application with the President to determine whether or not it is within The Near Islands' best interest to set up an embassy with your nation. Further inquires will be answered by him, or by his Assistant Nadiya Tivah if he is unavailable.

The Red Creek Embassy Complex is a historical building located within walking distance of most government buildings. If your application is accepted, your ambassador and their staff will be given a standard 3-roomed apartment with an office, a singular bedroom with two bunk beds, and a bathroom with a toilet and sink. Other amenities, such as showers, kitchens, and other amenities can be found within a common space. The building is also within close proximity to a historical fish operating plant that is still in use after 124 years of service, with visits to the historical factory being allowed. The building will be shared with several other nations as well, including the United States of America, the People's Republic of China, even minor nations like Togo.

Do note that the building may not have regular access to electricity during daylight hours. The problem is due to Near Island's infrastructure, though the building will use auxiliary power during the night so that its occupants won't freeze to death.

1. The Near Islands reserves the right to reject applications for any reason they see fit. While any nation or organization can apply and possibly be excepted, things such as history, current diplomatic relations, and political ideology will be considered when reviewing the application.

2. While the Near Islands does respect the prospect of diplomatic immunity, the Near Islands reserves the right to expel ambassadors and/or their staff if they commit a felony, frequently commit misdemeanors, disturb or unrest the locals, or if situations arise where The Near Islands decides it no longer wants your ambassador and/or embassy within the country.

3. Ambassadors are not to attempt to influence The Near Islands politically, economically, culturally, religiously, technologically, environmentally, or physically without permission from the Near Islander government. This includes attempts to terraform the Near Islands, introduce cultural attitudes/new technologies/religious ideas, form political factions within The Near Islands, bribe local officials - regardless of connection to the government, etc.

4. Ambassadors or their staff are not to perform or use witchcraft, sorcery, magic, advanced technology, or otherwise to the ill-effect of Near Islanders, their country, or their planet/plane of existence they live on. Even if picking someone up with telepathy and moving them to cut in line is technically not illegal, The Near Islands reserves the right to expel said individual. This also includes using magic or technology to influence Near Islanders psychologically, as deceit and manipulation is not looked highly upon.

5. While not a requirement, it is highly encouraged for Ambassadors and their staff to exercise precaution between the hours of 5 PM and 8 AM, especially when near or in establishments where alcohol is served. While so far no ambassador has been physically assaulted by locals, rowdiness and violence are not unhead of otherwise. Similarly, Ambassadors and their staff are expected to exercise precaution when within nature. Due to WW2, several uninhabited regions - including national parks - contain unexploded munitions and may pose a danger without a guide.

6. Ambassadors may bring 3 staff members, one vehicle, and a small arm or small blade of their choice each. Non-lethal weapons such as pepper spray are unrestricted, though may only be used in certain cases. Explosive Weapons and Heavy Weapons are not allowed, though large blades such as swords or spears may be brought for ceremonial purposes. Ambassadors may purchase, rent, or borrow firearms from the Near Island citizens if need be, but they may not take these weapons home.

7. Embassies will be treated as apart of the country the ambassador is from. Flags and other symbols may be shown at equal height to Near Islander ones.

Ambassador Hutts will serve as a non resident Ambassador including assigned staff , for this mission. Ambassador Hutts and staff will not reside in The Near Islands permanently, but will instead make scheduled trips to the Near Islands each month, for one week at a time, to conduct embassy business and appointments. We request for this application to be processed and accepted as such.
