[Malta Comino Gozo]

Memorial services have been held in Malta Comino Gozo for the victims of the Storm Surge on the first anniversary of the disaster.

In Malta Comino Gozo's capital Valletta- one of the worst-hit area -Prime Minister Robert Abela led tributes to the dead at the new memorial garden.

750 people died when unusually high spring tides mixed with a large storm set off massive waves on the 5th April 2020. Many coastal buildings were completely destroyed as well as severe damage to all eastern coastal areas with water reaching 2 miles inland. Cars and people were swept away by a wall of water which breached the countries sea defences.

In the capital, Valletta, Mr Abela thanked local volunteers and the outside world for helping the country recover from the tragedy. He also presented awards to ambassadors from the present donor nations.

As well as the King and Queen of Malta Comino Gozo and other members of the royal family, many other world leaders and representatives were present for the event. Alexander Monov the Waisnorian President, President Mark Costello of Elejamie and Leader of the Opposition Robert Mack, Nyoman Agung Patrayasa Minister of Foreign Affairs for Pemecutan Rev. Carlos Núñez Alvarado, the Achaean Republic President, Queen Elysabet of Arianos Empress Representative of Carrelie, The Ambassador for MCG Ae-Jung Kim on behalf of Axuva, the North Alezia Minister of International Affairs, Muhammad Zalqarun-Raqqafi, President of Darkmania Ädam Hüskam along with his wife Ulrÿkka Hüskam and Polkopia’s ambassador to MCG, Tirol’ Širkov and, wife Silviya.

In the 2 hours long service was attended by tens of thousands, prayers, songs and readings were carried out by various priests and survivors as well as the Prime Minister. Wreaths were laid by various world leaders on behalf of all those who were lost. Churches ringing their bells in unison across the country before 1pm before a minutes silence at 1pm which ended with cannon fire.

ZAFIZAMARRAH Held in all 4 members of the Council of Alezian territories, A vote on Resolution 189/3 on Reunification of Alezia has resulted in a pass in all territories. North Alezia with 97% support, Mosin-Nagan (separate voting) with 83% support, Pantabang Island with 83% support, and South Alezia with 79% support. A surprising feat which is possible due to the Empire of South Alezia being overthrown by humans, restoring Alezian Unity. A further vote will be held to decide the type of government for this new union. Two options being a Federation (similiar to North Alezia, but more complex), and a Constitutional Monarchy. If the latter passes, then the descendant of the last monarch, Sultanah Amiruddinah XI shall continue on the throne of the Sultanate of Zafizamarrah. However, the name will change and the policies are much more liberal.

However, a new flag is under selection by members of the international government, and an anthem has been selected which the lyrics can be seen above. With the new union, ABA has been selected to be the National Broadcaster of the new union, transferring TAS (and WTF), TMN and RPAN to the ABA. Carrelie welcomes new empress

April 9th was a momentous day for Carrelie. After suffering a fall from a window, Empress Ann II - now Queen Ann of Dentricia, Queen Mother of Iffrwff - was declared unfit to rule over Carrelie as a whole, leading to the summoning of the Lords' Council to elect the next leader. Debate raged on for two hours, with Speaker Léopold of Andlin having to call the house to order a record number of fifty-seven times. After debate had subsided, the 384 members of the Lords' Council voted on which monarch of Carrelie's 11 constituent nations they would want to see become the new monarch of Carrelie.

757 votes in total were cast, with each Lord having 2 votes and 3 members not present. The winner with 181 votes was the Queen of Douria, Edith-Marie d'Étiennes, with the second place, Karine II of Iffrwff, got only five votes less, making this the closest ever imperial election. This is also the first time a house other than the House of Ifynmarsh or the House of Haufenburg has taken the throne of Carrelie.

As empress, Edith-Marie has pledged to uphold the ideals of the Dentrician Revolution, namely opportunity for all and a more democratic system for Carrelie. She has also promised to push for the equal rights of all people, namely by proposing the introduction of same-sex marriage and the abolition of tuition fees.

People have rejoiced over the election, Edith-Marie being the favourite in the 2020 opinion poll held in November. Her 'calm leftism', as it is described, is a popular ideology, and her humility makes her popular with common people all over Carrelie.

Lucky 7 Media announced their acquisition of Ultrasports Network Ltd today. Following a 250 million deal, the Togonistanian media giant now owns Ultrasports Network and it's assets, including Ultrasports 1 & 2 TV channels as well as UltraBet sports betting website. ''This might very well be the biggest deal we have made to date and we are happy to greet the Ultrasports Network into our family'' said Darren Tavatoa, Lucky 7's media chief.

Following the deal, there have been speculations on how much will Lucky 7's ownership change the currently established channels and whether viewers can see the beloved channels being re-branded to incorporate the Lucky 7 trademark into their name. According to Tavatoa, the acquisition ''brings no drastic changes to Ultrasports brand itself and viewers can be rest assured that Ultrasports will continue with high quality coverage of various sports, both from home and overseas. In short, for the average viewer, nothing changes.''

Jason Huntley, CEO of Ultrasports Network, welcomed the change and is looking forward to see how the network will further develop under Lucky 7 Media. ''This is truly a great deal for the whole Ultrasports brand. The cooperation with Lucky 7 Media is going to open a lot of doors for us and will surely allow Ultrasports to grow even further by covering and broadcasting an even wider variety of sports in the future.''

Questions have been raised about Lucky 7's further plans with the Ultrasports brand and the reason behind the deal. Some speculations have suggested about Lucky 7 attempting to establish a foothold in the sports broadcasting market and gain television rights for future IBA backed sports events for some time now. With Lucky 7 being a full member of International Broadcasting Alliance, following the acquisition, their rights now expand to Ultrasports Network as well and the latter can enjoy all the benefits that come with IBA member status.

Crown Prince Alulim to Become Regent, Imperial Palace Announces

Crown Prince Alulim will become Regent of Adab, the Imperial Palace has announced.

The Crown Prince, 94, will assume the regency on May 1, according to a statement issued by the Imperial Palace on Wednesday morning.

This announcement comes as Emperor Tizqar III, 112, continues to struggle with ill health after returning home from hospital in March.

While the Emperor, amid advancing age and failing health, has been gradually delegating his duties and responsibilities to his children and grandchildren for several years now, the announcement has surprised the Adabian public, who generally had expected the Emperor to retain power for the rest of his life.

"His Imperial Majesty the Emperor requests that the following announcement be made immediately: that, pursuant to the Regency Act of 1950, he will enact a State of Regency and transfer the powers and duties of the office of Emperor to His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince effective on Sunday, May 1, 2021," the statement from the Imperial Palace began.

"The Crown Prince will assume the office of Regent and exercise with full freedom the powers and duties of the Emperor.

“May Allah protect the Emperor, the Crown Prince, and this Islamic Empire of Adab.”

The Crown Prince currently resides full-time in the Imperial Palace. It is understood that he met the Emperor in the latter’s private apartments, where he has been recovering following his release from hospital, either last night or early this morning, and in that meeting the Emperor made clear that he was firm in his decision to hand over the powers and duties of his office to his son.

The Crown Prince’s office released a statement this morning paying tribute to his father.

“Throughout the 93 years of his reign, the Emperor has selflessly devoted himself to the cause of peace, prosperity, and justice for the people of Adab. He has expanded our borders, provided shelter for millions in our national home and preserved it through numerous trials and tribulations, and through it all he has remained an example of kindness, wisdom, and the goodness of man,” the statement said.

“We will carry on for him.”

The Emperor has endured ill health several times. He had surgery in 1999 to remove a benign growth from his neck, and in 2005 underwent total hip replacement at the age of 97. In 2011, aged 103, he spent a week in hospital after angioplasty to clear a blocked coronary artery. From February to March this year he spent 45 days in hospital due to heart and lung issues, the longest hospital stay of his life.

The Emperor has held the throne since 1927.

Today’s meeting of the Privy Council has been adjourned following the release of the Imperial Palace’s statement. Speaking outside his residence in Adab City, the Lord President of the Privy Council, the Duke of Baghdad, paid tribute to the Emperor’s life of service.

“For nine decades the Emperor has served this country and its people, subsuming his personal interests to serve the nation’s. Very few who are alive today remember a time before the Emperor,” the Duke said.

“In a way, we are all the children of Emperor Tizqar III.”

The Duke then assured the Crown Prince of his and the Council’s support. “We shall always be faithful to the Crown Prince and Regent. We are at his disposal.”

Salece Special Senate Election Takes Ground

A special election in the state of Salece is scheduled for its now vacant class one seat after former Senator Ivan Xirau of the Social Democratic Party resigned. The two front runners for this race are People's Forum candidate Atham Gaie and Liberal Lugas Murilo, both of whom are currently leading in the polls for the first round that'll be taking place on May 3rd. Atham Gaie is very agreeable with presidential frontrunner Sylvia Rodriguez. To win over his constiuencies he should be in firm opposition to Sylvia Rodriguez, someone who he aligns with most of the time. With a constituency where there's a large Liberal and Social Democratic base, dating back to 2017 and 2012, Salece is a state that was previously a People's Forum state for 2007 and 2002 that ended up going to the Social Democrats and ended up staying with them. Previously the People's Forum had more representation than Social Democrats and Liberals, but now that is flipped because of the 2019 Chamber elections. Looking at the state's recent voting patterns, there's no reason as to why Sylvia Rodriguez or Atham Gaie would win Salece. Even looking at polling data, almost all the data shows Lugas Murilo ahead of Atham Gaie in the state of Salece. The most recent one is a 3% margin with an 11% undecided margin. When it comes to downballot races, there's no loss of momentum for the Liberals moving into future elections. The Senate is what the Liberals are focusing on, and have poured alot of money into Murilo's campagin. Forecasts are showing that it is all but certain that the Liberals will carry the state of Salece. Looking at Atham Gaie and everything working against him, its highly unlikely that he'll win this Senate race. However, parliamentary races are known play out differently than presidential races in certain states, with some states known to be either safe for the People's Forum, Social Democrats or Liberals on the presidential level, but being much closer when it comes to elections for the Chamber and Senate. In 2017, Roisel was won by the People's Forum candidate by a 7% margin, but elected Liberal Tiere Suca to the Senate with over a 12% margin in 2019. Salece fits into that model, as it was won by incumbent People's Forum senator Ester Moreno by a safe margin of 14% in 2011 but voted for Social Democratic presidental Gabriel Marquez by 10% in 2012. With the first round coming around in a couple weeks, Gaie isn't counting himself out, recently saying in a statement that he believes there's a good chance for him to win.

INTTC to retire Ikheriasat-1 in 2028

Federal City of Yeltsingrad - One of the most longest operational satellite, the first generation of Ikheriasat (Ikheriasat-1A and Ikheriasat-1B), is planned to be deactivated and retired by its operator, the state telecom company, INTTC, in 2028. The satellites, accumulated more than 45 year of combined service. Most of the user was already relocated into Ikheriasat-2 and Ikheriasat-3 satellites, but some of them, still using the satellite capacity.

Ikheriasat-1A and Ikheriasat-1B, ordered in 1992 and launched in late-1996 and early-1997, respectively, carry 14 Ku-band and 6 C-band transponder, and a L-band and VHF communication payload on each comsats and cover much of Europe, Africa, Middle East, and West Asia. Both satellite surpassing 10 year and 20 year of operational life in 2008 and 2018, respectively.

Scotatrova to Reopen to Foreign Tourists

For more than a year Scotatrova has been closed to international travelers from outside the EU, except from a few very select other countries, but the Scotatrovian government announced that from July 1, all travelers vaccinated against COVID-19 would be allowed to enter. "From July 1, all vaccinated people and their families will be welcome in our country, Scotatrova, regardless of their country of origin," President Iago Diaz said at a rally in Muse. "This summer we will safely receive all visitors that choose Scotatrova as their holiday destination," he continued. All travelers, fully vaccinated against COVID-19, can enter Scotatrova, as long as their final vaccine shot was 14 days before their arrival in the country. They need to be able to prove they’ve been fully vaccinated by showing a vaccine certificate with all the necessary information such as identity, type of vaccine, and date of vaccination. All travelers must also fill out a health control form and undergo health checks, such getting their temperature taken on arrival. The only places that Scotatrova is still not accepting fully vaccinated travelers from yet are India, Brazil, and South Africa, due to COVID-19 variants.

Meanwhile, Scotatrova’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign will continue to respect an order based on age until the entire process is complete. That’s what was agreed on Tuesday by the Health Ministry and representatives from the states. Right now, the 30-39 age group is being called up for their shots. The commission has decided to move on to the people in their 20s next, before finally focusing on adolescents aged 12 to 19 – the youngest age that the vaccines have so far been approved for. According to the latest report from the Health Ministry, 31.8% of the Scotatrovian population, which is around 84.8 million people, has received at least one vaccine dose. All of Scotatrova's states and territories – which are in charge of their campaigns as well as the overall control of the pandemic in their territory – have practically finished immunizing the over-70s. According to the latest report from the Health Ministry, the incidence of the coronavirus in Scotatrova continues its fall. The ministry reported 1,400 new infections today and added 52 Covid-19 deaths to the overall total since the pandemic began. In total, there have been 4,349,601 confirmed infections in Scotatrova, and 113,554 official victims as of June 16.

Pride Celebrations Begin In Danavev

The month of June opened with a roaring celebration of pride all across Danlina, all in anticipation for what is proven time and time again to be the peak of Danlinian Pride: the pride celebrations and parade in Danavev city. Mayor Luko Šamačinko, who has proven to be very popular upon his reelection into office, has spent the month of June decorating the city for the celebrations: every single street pole has been painted with the colors of the rainbow, every second pole waves the rainbow flag, and city hall has been painted with the colors of the rainbow, making the city into an astonishingly colorful sight to behold.

On the criticisms he has received from Christian fundamentalist organizations, Šamačinko said: "They say, 'You are encouraging young people to be homosexuals', but I say that the ignorance is all theirs. The public has reelected a liberal mayor, then the public will receive a pride parade".

The events of pride will this evening, June 18th, with a large event at the city center in front of city hall, that will include once-in-a-lifetime performances from well-known Danlinian LGBT artists such as Ron Danišički, Doná Belá, and the band Mouse Romance. The events will take place over the weekend, with a hiatus on Sunday, before resuming with the schedule until the long waited for Danavev Pride Parade on Friday, June 25th. The theme and main attraction of this year's parade are probably the most well-kept secret in Danavev City Hall, as to whether or not they will be able to outdo their record-breaking parade from last year is a question that is still left unanswered.

Federal City of Yeltsingrad - the venerable Ikheriasat-1 satellite, designed and build by Alcatel Alenia Space (now Thales Alenia Space) and the newly established federal company; ISMSC in 1996 and 1997 for Ikherian Post and Telecom Service (IPTS), the predecessor of INTTC, slated to be retired in 2028, but, the operator will not procure more satellite for sometime in future. INTTC claimed, the capacity needed for migration is already fulfilled by Ikheriasat-2 and -3 series, as these satellites provide more capacity than its predecessor.

According from INTTC Ikheriasat transponder utilization information, Ikheriasat-1 satellite contribute up to 25% of Ku-band capacity and 21,43% of C-band capacity, Ikheriasat-2 at 32,14% (Ku-band) and 21,43% (C-band), and Ikheriasat-3 at 42,9% (Ku-band) and 57,14% (C-band). Even with that claim, many user are concerned because of some possible problem, mainly, under-capacity or stop of services, but INTTC claim the capacity is still enough for migration and new users and if under-capacity problem happens, INTTC will leasing neither Eutelsat, RSCC, SES, Measat, or even Intelsat satellites for cover the gap on capacity, mainly for migrating users, utill new Ikheriasat-3 or Ikheriasat-4 satellite is launched and operational.

USSR Passes Constitutional Amendment, Dissidents: Draconian, Backwards

MOSCOW - The USSR has finished counting the votes for referendum regarding the constitutional amendment today, and has recorded 87% in favour. The amendment allowed Putin's, if elected in 2024, to discount all previous terms, and has banned same-sex marriages, along with enshrining the Russian language's . Dissidents abroad have called this amendment draconian and backwards, while many inside the Soviet Union claimed that this can prevent the USSR from "falling further into degeneracy".

The amendments proscribed that "defence of the historical truth" of the Soviet role in the Second World War, and has called for the introduction of patriotic education in schools, claiming it the "sacred duty of all Soviets".

It also defined a marriage as "a union between man and woman", which prohibits same-sex marriage in a constitutional manner. This is contrary to most of the world's approach, such as Nacrad's redefinition of a marriage as one between man and woman, to one between two adults; or the US' court decision mandating same-sex marriage's legality.

Finally, these amendments also technically allowed Putin to serve for 24 more years. It allowed the General Secretary, currently a position held by Putin, to serve 4 six-year terms consecutively, but explicitly disregards terms already served. This means that his re-election, if won, in 2024 will become his first term in the eyes of this constitution. Under this amendment, Putin will be allowed to serve until 2048, by which time he would have been 96.

Dissident Fedya Rodionovich, currently in exile in Taipei, claimed that Putin simply wanted to consolidate power, as the population increasingly saw the ineptitude of the Soviet government, and the proscription of a heterosexual marriage simply a reaction to the increasingly liberal population. Additionally, as several reporters who refused to be named put it, there were widespread harassment and coercion to voters during the referendum, which have skewed the results in favour. Doubts were also cast on the security of the electoral process, as the Associated Press found out that voters may vote twice, once online and once in-person.

The Soviet Foreign Commissariat has so far dismissed these claims, saying that the election was fair and impartial, and that the "imperialist powers" have no right to interfere.

The Employment (Amendment) Bill - A Closer Look

RIVERFORT - The filibuster of the Employment (Amendment) Bill by Senate Conservatives continues, which has further delayed the implementation of it. The 7-page amendment changes terms in 3 parts, namely working hours, wages and paid holidays.

Currently, the Employment Ordinance offers far fewer protections to workers than an equivalently-developed nation. It defines the maximum contract working hours at 72 hours per week, and gives no limit on overtime, nor does it stipulate any extra wages for working during adverse weather, in overtime or in public holidays. The Social Democratic League, which currently leads the Governing Coalition, has long sought to change this, but the previous attempt to amend the Employment Ordinance in 2018 had ended in a Senatorial disapproval with 3 members of the Liberal Party voting against the party line. However, the more moderate sectors of the Conservative Party now support the expansion of labour rights, and the amendment passed in house late last year with 27 Opposition members voting in favour.

The most important amendment this bill introduces is the reduction of the maximum working hours, which equalled at most 12 hours per day for all permitted working days, i.e. all but Sunday. With no protection against excessive overtime, however, there were reports of companies requiring employees to work some 100 hours per week or more. In the amendment, this was rectified by setting the maximum contract hours at 60, and maximum overtime, defined as hours worked exceeding the contract requirement, at 12 hours. This sets the maximum working hours including overtime at 72 per week, which is on par with the maximum contract hours in the current legislation.

The amendment also stipulated additional wages for two conditions, namely working during inclement weather, and in overtime. When the Black Rainstorm Warning, or signals equal or more severe than the No. 8 Gale or Storm Warning is in force, or a state of emergency regarding weather is in force between 2 hours before work begins and 2 hours after the employee leaves work, in either the province of residence, or the province of the workplace, the workers affected will be entitled to 1.5 times the contract wages which is not stipulated in the current legislation. Additionally, workers are also entitled to 1.25 times the contract wages when working in overtime.

Opinions are mixed on this piece of legislation. Supporters claim that this brings Nacrad up to international standards in the protection of labour rights, and prevent overworking, which had directly caused 5 deaths and was cited as a cause of suicide by 27 between 2015 and 2020. Opponents claim that this encroaches upon companies' right to freely use its manpower, which may hurt productivity, and further harm the Nacradian economy, already bruised and scarred from the Wuhan Pneumonia pandemic.

MOD Releases Military Expansion and Modernisation Plan, PM: Warmongering, Waste of Money

RIVERFORT - After an announcement to increase the capacity of military reserves, the Ministry of Defence has released documents regarding the Combat Readiness Enhancement and Evaluation Programme (CREEP). The Minister of Defence Lewis Kwong said that this programme can help Nacrad defend against any invasion of the nation, particularly against the Comintern from the north. However, the Prime Minister Jonathan Stone slammed it as warmongering and a waste of money.

After the release of the Credible Defence - Nacrad of the Mid-21st Century white paper by the Nacradian think tank, the Center for Defence Studies in March this year, it has come to the conclusion that the currently nearly million-strong military is inadequate for the needs of Nacrad as a regional power. As a result, it has launched CREEP, a programme designed to remedy this issue. It entails enhancements to all branches of the military, and is expected to incur some 3 trillion dollars' costs over the next 5 years.

Most prominently, it features an increase of the size of the Reservist Corps, the combat-ready reserves, from about 711 thousand to 1.1 million by calling up more non-combat-ready reservists for training. It also called for the replacement of the last outdated units, such as those using the Humvee and the Bradley with the modern equivalents, the Infantry Mobility Vehicle and Type 3 IFV. Finally, by increasing the recruitment quota and calling in reserves, it is expected that 18 Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs) will be added to the Army, where 9 are motorised BCTs, 3 are Light Mechanised BCTs, 3 are Heavy Mechanised BCTs, and 3 as Armoured BCTs. Additionally, 3 BCTs will be added to the Marines, all of which being Amphibious Light Mechanised BCTs.

It also called for the modernisation and expansion of the Air Force and airborne assets. For the Air Force, CREEP called for the purchase of 57 F-15EX airframes, and the retirement of the last remaining F-15C/D aircraft still in service. CREEP will also add 9 squadrons or 108 airframes of the F-16N fighter, a 4.5 Generation fighter, to active service. 4 squadrons, or 48 airframes of the F-35A will also be added. Additionally, 17 airframes of the F-35B will be purchased by the Marines, to supplement and replace some of the aging Harrier fleet.

As for the Navy, CREEP called for the purchase of 12 F-35C airframes in order to supplement the carrier fleet, making Nacrad the second nation after the United States to operate all 3 variants of the F-35. These airframes will be replacing one of the two F/A-18E/F squadrons onboard NNV Endurance after its repairs and upgrades are complete later this year. It also called for the retirement of NNV Oswain and Udrain, launched in 1971 and 1973 respectively, with a new class of 3 amphibious assault craft, the Kongsi-class. Additionally, it will retire 6 frigates, 1 destroyer and 1 cruiser, while introducing 17 frigates, 3 destroyers and 2 cruisers. It will also add a riverine patrol squadron, which would be based in the Poyang Lake and parts of the Yangtze River.

The programme is expected to cost at least 3 trillion Nacradian Dollars across the next 5 years, which was slammed as unnecessary by both the Libertarian Party and the Liberal Party. Doubts were also raised about Nacrad's ability to pay for this programme, being also required to fund Operation Hopeful Dawn, a peacekeeping and development operation in Kongsi.

Additionally, Prime Minister Jonathan Stone, along with several Liberal Party and Leftist Action members, denounced this plan as warmongering, with the white paper specifically naming the Comintern as the main enemy.

The proposal calling for building at least 2 entirely new, multi-mission satellite, called Ikheriasat-4/Ikherian Geostationary Meteorological Monitoring Satellite (IGMMS), as well to build 2 gapfiller satellite for INTTC, called Ikheriasat-3D/P4A and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B. If the proposal is accepted, Ikheriasat-3D/P4A and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B is planned to be operational before 2027 and Ikheriasat-4/IGMMS in 2036, hence its nickname by some netizens, 'Space Gift for Ikheria's 45th Birthday,'

Ikheriasat-4/Ikherian Geostationary Meteorological Monitoring Satellite will reusing design from Insat-3A, but, the platform for such satellite will use neither Eurostar-3000/Neo, SSL-1300, or BSS-702. The satellite designed to carry VHRR, cameras, sounder and imager, and state-of-the-art communication payloads, including SAR and VHF/UHF data relayer. Ikheriasat-3D/P4A and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B is planned to only carry multi-band communication payload. The platform for that interim satellite will neither on Eurostar-3000/Neo, Spacebus-3000/4000/Neo, SSL-1300, OHB SmallGeo, or BSS-702.

Ikheriasat-3D/P4A is planned located in same orbit with other Ikheriasat satellites, and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B will planned located in 123 East, prioritizing L-band and S-band payload, as Garuda-1 and Artemis is formerly located in 123 East. For Ikheriasat-4/IGMMS satellites, they planned to located in same orbital slot with other Ikheriasat satellites.

INTTC and FWGIS predicting, the program will cost at least €575 million. The proposal coming several weeks before the Independence Day. The ISEA is now finalizing its report to General Representative Assembly before the assembly next meeting about 7th Five Year Plan programmes consultation.

Hadrax to Begin Trial on Winter Time This Year

ZHAMKONG, HX. - After the federal Department of Energy approval, the State of Hadrax will begin trial on observing winter time of half an hour behind Nacrad Standard Time this winter between December and the next February.

This decision came after a referendum earlier this year, with the question "Do you wish the State of Hadrax to begin trial on observing a Winter Time of not more than one hour behind Nacrad Standard Time for no more than 3 months each year?". This referendum was passed with 56.8% voting in favour, and the State Legislature promptly approved the Winter Time Act, stating that "The State of Hadrax shall observe a Winter Time of thirty minutes behind Nacrad Standard Time between the first day of December and the final day of February in the succeeding year inclusive."

This means that, on 1 December this year, Hadraxites will have to turn their clocks back to midnight for the first time when the clock strikes 00:30. Conversely, on 28 February next year, Hadraxites will find that the time between 23:30 and midnight will be skipped.

A state correspondent said that this would be beneficial to the health of workers and students, particularly those living in the western part of the state. In winter, the sun would not rise until 7:30 in January, which means that early-risers will have to wake up in the dark. However, with a clock lagging behind Nacrad Standard Time by half an hour, the sun would rise at a more reasonable time, which has statistically been proven to be less detrimental to health.

Federal City of Minsk - Today, 2 weeks and 2 day after the 30th Independence Day in 25 October, the Federal Representative Assembly officially approving inclusion of Ikheriasat-4/IGMMS programme into 7th Five Year Plan. The inclusion was considered important, noting that Ikheriasat-1 satellites will planned to be retired in 2028 and Ikheriasat-2 satellites will passing 15-year service mark in 2026 and claimed by some sources to be retired in 2040s.

However, the Assembly recommending that, the first gapfiller satellite (Ikheriasat-3D/P4A) embark minimum of 50% more payload than all Ikheriasat-1 satellite resources combined. That means, the satellite must embark minimum of 42 Ku-band and 18 C-band transponders. In comparison, combined Ikheriasat-1 satellite resources yield 28 Ku-band and 12 C-band transponders. But, INTTC stated that they planned to embark minimum of 48 Ku-band and 24 C-band transponders. Althrough, INTTC, together with FWGIS, ISMSC, and ISEA in next few weeks will start international bidding competition for the prime contractor for this program.

50 Years Ago, Nacrad Asked For Formosa to be Represented in the UN - A Look Back

NEW YORK CITY - Half a century ago, after the United Nations granted UN representation to the US states of New York and Texas, Nacrad also tendered its application for Formosa to be similarly recognised. 50 years later, calls were raised, as it had back then, to terminate the UN recognition for New York and Texas for the US, along with the Belarusian and Ukrainian SSRs of the USSR.

At the formation of the United Nations, when India and Philippines tendered their proposals to join, the USSR had been staunchly against their admission. This is because, as they claim, India was a colony of the UK and Philippines that of the US in all but name. However, with India and the Philippines insisting to join the UN, and they had eventually been admitted. In turn, the USSR demanded that all its 15 constituent SSRs be similarly recognised, which was countered by the US who demanded all 48 states at the time be given the same treatment. Finally, Belarus and Ukraine were admitted as full members, representing the USSR with 3 seats. The US, meanwhile, did not finalise which two states to be given the treatment, but retained the right to do likewise.

After the admission of Alaska and Hawaii, the US requested them to be given the Soviet treatment, but was rejected by the UN. As a result, the US opted for Texas and New York, being the most important states of the US at the time, to be given the treatment. This request was promptly accepted by the UN, triggering diplomatic protests by Nacrad, then under the Nationalist government.

In response, Nacrad proposed that Formosa, having never been part of the British colony and was instead a gift by the US at the end of the Second World War, was distinct enough to qualify as its own UN member. However, this proposal was - perhaps unsurprisingly - treated as a joke in the United Nations. Nevertheless, Nacrad continued to protest the decision for not only the US, but also the USSR, to be given a disproportionate amount of representation.

To this day, however, this arrangement still exist. Scholars have long debated if this is in the spirit of the UN, where all nations are equal.

Danlinian Oil Well Safety Bill Passes GDU Vote

Two days ago (Sunday) the GDU finished its summit in Camp Krešimir, where it discussed the Danlinian oil spill that occurred in May 2019, and how to avoid and respond to such incidents in the future. The Danlinian delegation to the summit introduced a draft resolution for a fund pooled from GDU member nations, for properly responding to such incidents. The Trekkish delegation supported the draft, and introduced its amendment to include GDU-wide safety regulations on oil wells. Once the Danlinian delegation accepted the Trekkish amendment to their draft, the two delegations introduced it to the voting floor as the Oil Well Safety Bill which passed with a clear majority.

While environmentalists all across Danlina are celebrating this small victory, some conservative politicians have managed to already voice their distaste for the bill.
Gregorj Hitrov, of the Danlinian National Party, tweeted: "This bill is a disaster to Danlina's main source of income. With the tight regulations introduced by Treko, our efficiency will be greatly reduced".
Meanwhile, outside of Danlina environmentalists are congratulating the nation on its step towards the right path. Environmentalist politician Aliná Cangušo, of Parentell's Green Party, tweeted: "Congratulations to Danlina and the GDU on the new bill. While the Danlinian people have always been sympathetic to the environmental cause, it seemed that their government was lacking the same ambition, but clearly, I've been wrong. This is a great step towards a greener Danlina and hopefully next will be a greener Parentell".

PRDTA: Funds For Macau LRT Phase 2 May Have Been Embezzled by Macanese Partner, ICAC to Investigate

MACAU, Mo. - The Pearl River Delta (Hadrax) Transit Authority (PRDTA), which has been commissioned by the Macanese colonial government to build and operate Macau's light rail transit system, has reported to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) that their Macanese partner, Cotai Construction, is suspected to be embezzling funds from this now severely delayed and over budget project. ICAC has pledged that it will look into this issue.

Macau's light rail system, whose construction had begun back in 2008 and Phase 1 not in operation until late 2015 and the construction of Phase 2 began in 2012 with a due finish date of 2017, has long been plagued with poor construction quality, numerous delays and budget overruns. The PRDTA has long blamed this on the inefficiency of the Macanese colonial administration, which at one point withheld funding for its Macanese project over alleged construction deficiencies.

The Macau Light Rail Transit was planned in 2006, and is designed to be a rapid rail transit system across this Portuguese territory. Originally, Phase 1 was to be built on the northern part of the colony with a bridge across to its airport at Taipa, providing service to its residents for a convenient way to commute to work. However, on the request of the Legislative Council of Macau, the plan was amended to serve mostly Coloane and the Cotai Strip, where most corporate interests are. However, this request came only after construction for the bridge section of this project has commenced. Delays were exacerbated due to the two typhoon disasters in 2017 and 2018, respectively from Strong Typhoon Hato and Stage 2 Super Typhoon Mangkhut, which had severely damaged several sections of the track and one of the stations despite the blueprint stating that it can withstand such conditions.

After numerous delays, however, the Macanese colonial government then requested that Phase 2, which consisted of a bridge between Taipa and the Macau Peninsula and a line to the main border crossing, to be built. Having had experience of working with Cotai Construction, a construction company based in Macau, PRDTA wished to change the contractor. However, bound by a contract which stipulated the construction of the full initial planned system, it was unable to do so.

After 4 years of delays, however, PRDTA now asserts to the ICAC that Cotai Construction had, by use of the Kei Wan Consultancy Center which was partially registered in Nacrad, embezzled funds from the construction with the consultancy center charging unreasonable fees, reportedly nearly 100 million Nacradian Dollars, or some 630 Macanese Patacas, over the past 5 years. Furthermore, PRDTA asserts that this consultancy center, after looking up its stock holders, had a conflict of interest with Cotai Construction and Isabel Góes, wife of the Governor of Macau Fernando Tsui respectively holding 21% and 13% of the shares, which was not declared at the time when the contract is signed.

Furthermore, it is asserted that Fernando Tsui, appointed as a member of the State of Hadrax Executive Council as a gesture of diplomatic goodwill, has used his position to influence it to use the services of Cotai Construction, another conflict of interest. If this claim is true, this would place Governor Tsui in violation of the Prevention of Corruption and Bribery Ordinance, which may carry a penalty up to 40 years in prison, if the alleged amount embezzled is indeed true.

Simon Peh, the commissioner of the ICAC, said that he will direct the ICAC to investigate all parties involved, and assured the public that he will not be afraid to investigate and, if need be, press charges upon anyone necessary.

As of the writing of this article, neither the Macanese colonial government, the Governor of Macau or the Portuguese Government have responded to our queries.

President Ratifies Basic Law for Cyrene Overseas Territory

BENGHAZI, CY - The President has signed the Basic Law for the Overseas Territory of Cyrenaica into effect, formalising the role of the Overseas Territory of Cyrenaica, also known as Cyrene, as a semi-independent part of Nacrad.

Earlier today (27 July), the President under much press attention signed the Basic Law, which was submitted by the Territorial Committee on the Basic Law at the start of the month. The Basic Law, as the constitution of the Overseas Territory, lays the foundation to the devolution of power and the framework that the government operates with. Before this law was signed into effect, it had operated under the Provisional Mandate, which did not offer the territory any local devolvement.

After the Basic Law was signed into effect, however, this has changed. The Committee on the Basic Law was offered a direct way to become the Territorial Assembly, both being directly-elected, and was given the power to set local laws. The 30-member assembly was also given the power to elect a Chief Administrator, which holds the actual powers as opposed to the Governor that was appointed by the President. As a matter of fact, the territory was given the power to set all domestic and economic policy, but would not be given autonomy in foreign affairs.

After the Chief Administrator was sworn in, he invoked Article 62 of the Constitution to set up the National Guard, claiming that it is necessary for a local defence force to be set up, in case federal forces cannot get there in time.

Leftist Action and the Liberal Party have criticised this as "a blatant act of imperialism", while Liberal Party, still in the Governing Coalition, voted against the Basic Law in favour of their own bill which would liberate Cyrenaica as an independent state, in contrary to the SDL which voted for. Additionally, peaceful assemblies staged by Leftist Action also took place near the Presidential Residence and Office Complex, urging the President to veto it and release Cyrenaica.

As the 27th of July happened on a Tuesday, it means that the National Brito Day weekend happened the days before it, with the Britonish Government announcing that Wednesday will also be a bank holiday as a gift to all hard-working Britons to take an extra day off work. This means for most people, they get to celebrate from the 24th right through until the 28th but some businesses might still open on the 27th and 28th in order to rake in the copious amount of money people are willing to spend on National Brito Day. With most employers paying their employees on the Friday before, a lot of people will want to spend money in preparation for National Brito Day which sees many families and friends celebrate in different ways.

Some people prefer more of a quiet and chilled Brito Day - using the extra couple of days off to sleep at home and do absolutely nothing. For some people who work non-stop, this is a well-deserved break from deadlines and paperwork. Some people might use the day to go and meet family and celebrate with a barbecue at home - which may be more prevelant this year due to the fact Britonisea will continue to sizzle in 30C heat - with temperatures only expecting to rise up to 35C in some areas of the country on the big day tomorrow. For those in their late teens and twenties, Brito Day celebrations are the perfect chance to meet up with friends and head to night clubs or venues across the country to countdown together. Some families may choose to join them down at their city's largest landmark which usually brings in Brito Day with multi-million-pound firework celebrations sure to impress all those who love fire and pyros. It has been a tradition for Britonish cities to vie with each other to make the best display, with Doportedas spending an eye-sweltering £4.2 million on their firework celebration in 2019 as the whole of the Olympic Park was lit up in flames but for the 250,000 that crammed into the Olympic Park, paying £25 a ticket, the Doportedas Authority definitely made a profit from it. People also enjoyed two thrilling matches over the weekend as Lada Kirovski from Polkopia) won the 3PPO in Stadium Strata in Telm City, while Valletta City FC from Malta Comino Gozo took home the gold and won a very sizeable cheque sure to help the team a lot for future competitions.

Local news channels will be showing the events from their nearest cities while BITC, BVC, Channel Four and TBE will choose cities they will show so Britons have a wide range of coverage and ways to celebrate Brito Day. Meliora Napoleti wins last ever Festival dële Melodie Kalosiane

MONTERRA—The 50th edition of the Festival of Kalosian Melodies (Festival dële Melodie Kalosiane — FMK) was held recently as the national final for the 60th World Hit Festival. It was won by veteran contestant Meliora Napoleti with the song Finu al ťelu n'es blu (Until the sky is no longer blue). Napoleti previously won the 24th FMK and subsequently represented Kalosia at the 30th World Hit Festival in Vodiznad, Izmedu. More recently, she performed as an interval act at the 52nd festival held in Monterra.

What was notable about the show, however, was that it was the last edition before the event was to be discontinued. An RTVK official stated that, as times evolved, the time had come to rethink the way Kalosian entries are selected for the World Hit Festival. They cited the internal selections conducted between WHF51 and 54 which all resulted in good results for the island nation in the contest. Furthermore, interest in FMK was in decline, the official said, with the number of submissions each edition continuing to diminish. "Therefore," she said, "we deem it no longer viable to continue to sustain this show, and we will seek other ways to attract interest towards the World Hit Festival, including the possibility of a different selection format."

The very first Festival dële Melodie Kalosiane was held in 2012 as a selection for Kalosia's inaugural participation in the 7th World Hit Festival in Harrikes, Euskirribakondara. Since then, the festival had become a regular fixture of RTVK broadcasting and has seen the selection of three WHF winners, although the quality of music has been deemed to be largely subpar to that of the annual Festival dëla Kanžu Kalosianë (FKK). There is speculation that RTVK wishes to divert the resources used on FMK to FKK instead, as well as similar projects.

The RTVK official also announced that, for the foreseeable future, Kalosia's WHF entrants will be chosen by internal selection. However, she emphasized that this did not close the door for a new televised selection format to come to Kalosian screens in the near future.

As for now, Meliora is delighted with her second and last FMK victory. For her, preparations are in full swing to perform as the Kalosian entry to the 60th World Hit Festival in Aronyk, Britonisea.

East Rail Line Extension Opens

PORTSVILLE - The East Rail Line Extension, which links the Manhattan of the East to the mainland's various commuter towns, was opened today. Droves of railfans gathered at the intermediate stations in order to board the first train.

Early this morning, with the order of Jacob Kam, the first train departed its northern terminus at Shamchun, precisely at half past 5. It was rode by many railfans, who welcomed the train at intermediate stations. However, the largest crowd gathered at Mong Kok Station, which was the last station before its entry to the newly-constructed sections towards the new platforms below Portsville Kowloon Station, and subsequently the new underground sections. At Mong Kok Station, spectators watch at the end of the platform as the train switches tracks from the Riverfort-Portsville Main Line to the dedicated tracks.

This 8-kilometer extension, which had a price tag of 63 million Nacradian Dollars, adds 3 stations near the downtown core of Portsville, namely Exhibition Center, Admiralty and Central, all of which being interchange stations, namely the Junk Bay Line at Exhibition Center and the Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, South Island Line, Airport Express and Tung Chung Line at the Central. More critically, it provides a railway link between Portsville Kowloon Station and the downtown core of Central and Admiralty, reducing the reliance of the heavily-congested Cross-Harbour Tunnel, freeing up capacity for the vital crossing. These stations, in order to accommodate the 12-car trains, have the longest platform screen doors in the world at 300 meters, confirmed by the Guinness World Records.

The project also included improvements along the rest of the railway. To accommodate the higher required number of trains, Siemens' Trainguard Communications-Based Train Control system, also known as CBTC, will be retrofitted between Shamchun and Central station, which allows up to 32 train per direction per hour, as opposed to only 25, a feat also done to 2 commuter lines in Riverfort. However, to accommodate for intercity trains run by National Rail, the existing Automatic Train Protection systems will coexist with the CBTC system. It is said that East Rail Line trains, when running immediately behind an East Rail Line train, can ignore the legacy systems, while the reverse is not true when National Rail trains are involved. In addition, passing tracks at Mong Kok and Lo Wu stations, which previously only serve one direction, are expanded to allow for use for the opposite direction.

At the same time, the old Mid-Life Refurbishment trains, built by Metropolitan-Cammell (now part of GEC Alstom) in the early 80s and refurbished at the turn of the century, are decommissioned. While 7 sets will be preserved, and 10 sets reserved for Kongsi's subway programme, the rest will either be sold or scrapped.

Airbus and Boeing won INTTC Satellite building contract

Gdánsk - In early 2022, for first time for Boeing and the second time for Airbus, INTTC along with ISEA has awarding them €580.5 million contract, calling for designing, building, and launching 2 satellites, Ikheriasat-3D/P4A and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B, with Ikheriasat-3D/P4A in 52.5 East and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B in 123 East. The satellite will provide INTTC replenishment and new capacity, allowing Ikheriasat-1 satellites to be retired and raised into graveyard orbit, as well for preparing for the following Ikheriasat-4 satellites.

Ikheriasat-3D/P4A will be build by Airbus on Eurostar-Neo platform and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B by Boeing on BSS-702XHP, both including ISMSC as local partner and contractor. Ikheriasat-3D/P4A will carry 52 Ku-band and 36 C-band transponders, and for first-time, 8 all-new, multi-mode SDR (Software Defined Radio) transceiver, developed by INTTC and ISEA, as well ESA, and several ministries (Ministry of Telecommunication and Press, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal and Federal Affair, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology), companies, and individuals, operating from 100 MHz to 39.5 GHz, each with maximum configurable bandwidth of 200 MHz. Ikheriasat-3E/P4B will boast high-power S-/L-band mobile communication payload, 16 Ku-band, and 24 C-band transponder. Both satellite was designed with advanced capabilities, from switching and routing of the transponders to interference mitigation and smart control system, allowing changing amplifier power.

The Ikheriasat-3D/P4A will be launched in 2026 and Ikheriasat-3E/P4B on 2027 on Ariane 64 or Falcon Heavy launcher. For funding the project, the Export-Import Bank of the US, France, and Ikheria and several private financers will provide financial support funding.
