Hello Agent.

The situation across the United States has become dire, Smallpox Variola Chimera has ravaged the population and left the country in a state of near collapse. Until now you have waited, hidden in plain sight and done what you could for those around you, but the time has come and your country needs you now. You are a trained operative in the Strategic Homeland Division and your goal is simple: ensure the continuity of the government of the United States by any means necessary. Pursuant to this goal you have been dispatched to the city of Los Angeles, the second largest city in the United States and a crucial stepping stone to restoring order along the West Coast. Her sea ports, air ports, and infrastructure will prove vital in the long days ahead. Unfortunately, Los Angeles fell to the Green Poison quickly and disastrously. Her streets are a warzone and the few allies the SHD has in the city have been pushed back to Terminal Island, or as the locals call it, Port Town, the last bastion of civilization in a metropolis gone mad.

Until now you were one of them: their neighbor, their coworker, their friend, but now you need to become something more. As of this moment you rejoin the ranks of the last best hope for your fellow Americans. Get your go-bag, say goodbye to your loved ones, and move out, Agent.

Extremis Malis Extrema Remedia

Good luck

Welcome to Hollywood, Agents, better known as Los Angeles - the City of Angels. The situation on the ground is dire. As of (insert timestamp here), only three Agents from the First Wave remain, all others are Missing In Action or confirmed Killed In Action. Our Second Wave was engaged en route and was completely destroyed. You are our Third Wave, our final hope for reclaiming our city. You each managed to obtain the call for help before our SHD network went down. It has been (Insert weeks since message began) weeks since this distress call began to broadcast, and it has remained on repeat since. You each chose to do this, had plenty of time not to, but still came regardless. If you're going to help though, you're going to need to get in contact with one of our remaining Agents on the ground. First up is a former Air Force CCT, he was an engineer with the LAFD when it all went down. Second, we have a Grad student, Charles Parret, a biology major at one of the universities in the basin when the network dropped. Last, we have Luke Laforge, not much more we have on him with the network down, but he's still out there. Now, as for the situation in the basin, it's just as bad as we said. The JTF fell apart once the First Wave was exhausted and lost almost all of their ground to looters and other gangs. Of those that remain, they're in one of three factions: the LA Rangers, The True Patriots, and the Wardens. The Rouge JTF Elements are not the only enemies you have to worry about. Between the looters, the gangs, organized crime elements, and the Hunters, you're going to have your hands full. The Hunters were last confirmed to be in New York City, but with new intel on how First Wave Agents in the basin were killed, we suspect the Hunters have arrived. As it's California, the wildfires and earthquakes are still a danger, nevermind the flora and fauna set loose about the city.(edited)

Welcome to the Division: Hollywood. It's July 15, 2016, and You will be Roleplaying as Division Agent called into to Assist the Last remaining Division Cell in LA. All but 3 Agents of the Original LA agents have been wiped out, and their original reinforcements destroyed. The Start of this RP coincides with the Start of the Division 2, meaning it's Summer in LA. Your Agent is to arrive in Port Town, which is a Settlement that Takes up Both the Port of LA and Port of Long Beach. The LA Rangers have replaced the JTF because the JTF has fallen. The Rangers and The Division Call the USS Iowa their HQ and Port Town home. All settlements are Walled and Gated.

Allies to the the Division:

LA Rangers: The JTF has dissolved, and has been replaced in LA by a group of fromer JTF Members, Military Veterans, and civilian militia. They are based out of Port Town (Port of LA and Port of Long Beach)
Port Town: A Large Settlement taking up the Ports of LA and Long Beach. The USS Iowa is the HQ for SHD and the LA Rangers. There are several Tent cities in Port Town, but the RMS Queen Mary is also being used as housing.

Potential Allies

The Fallen MC: A Three Patch 1% motorcycle club made up of military vets and others, known for running guns but also helping out their community. Based out of their Club House In Westside, They work Closely with Rancho Nuevo.
Rancho Nuevo: A settlement that calls the Cabrillo High School in the West Side.
Gridiron City A settlement in the Professional Football Arena in LA
The Kingdom: A settlement in DisneyLand

Looters: Looters are everywhere, they roam around in small gangs, and attack everyone, including Other Looter Gangs.. Despite being the largest enemy faction they are the most disorganized and the gangs never work together.
The Wardens: A group of Rogue LAPD Officers. They tend to just shoot everyone from outside their zone of influence and let God deal with them. They have a very iron fisted approach to how they rule over their area of Influence. They are Based out of LAPD and Control DownTown LA.
The Hills Crime Family: A Crime Family based in Beverly Hills. Not long after the outbreak While the other Crime Families in the area were hurting or disappearing, this Small time Crime Family flipped the tables on several crime families and took control of the Hills, and the destroyed families weapon and drug stocks.
The Desert Rats: Control large portions of Yucaipa. They are currently engaged with the Highlanders for control of the area. This group tends to lean towards communism.
The True Patriots: A group of Rogue National Guardsmen and Military Reservists that abandoned the JTF and took control of NG Armory in Burbank California. THey are often facist in Nature and their dealings with Others. Are Hostile to everyone but the Wardens.
The Hangmen: Criminals housed in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, and the next door Men’s Central Jail. Broke out and killed off the Few Remaining LA County Deputies that hadn’t been dispatched to the JTF. They are based in their old Jails and the old LA Sheriff's office. They are often at war with the Wardens and the True Patriots.
Hunters: No one knows where they are based or who they are. They are known to hunt down all SHD agents. Have Only been sighted in New York so far. There have been no confirmed sightings in LA of the hunters, but LA's Original Agents were found butchered and the First batch of Agent reinforcements were all killed methodically.

You can have up to 2 Division Agents and 3 secondary characters, or you can just run 1 agent. The choice is yours.

Bio: Jax was born to Native American Parents of two different tribes in Oklahoma City, who moved just outside LA to Mountain Home Village not long after he was born. He grew up in the Mountains and High Deserts east of the Greater LA Area. He attended school in Yucaipa before attending Highschool at Yucaipa High School. He was a very good fullback in football, and helped lead Yucaipa to the State Semifinals three years back to back but ultimately failed, During he had decided he didn't want to go to school after his senior year despite football scholarships from USC, UCLA, and others. He started looking around at different jobs he could do right out of high school. What interested him the most was the USAF particularly the jobs of CCT and what at the Time was SOWT (Special Operations Weather Team). He decided to go Combat Control after doing research on the two jobs. While His parents Didn’t approve of him Joining the USAF they decided to let him join and live his life.

Not long after he graduated high school, Jax was sent off to Lackland AFB, where he would start his 3 year long training session, 2 years in a variety of Air Force Technical Schools, and 1 year OJT. After completing the 2 years of technical training, He was assigned first to the 321st Special Tactics Squadron (STS), where he did his 1 year of On the Job Training (OJT). He served a 1 year deployment in Iraq before coming back and being transferred to the 23rd STS. Every few years he would transfer to a Unit or be attached to a Army Spec Ops unit. He would go on to serve missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world. At the Ten Year mark He left the USAF and returned home to LA. He joined the LAFD as a Volunteer Firefighter and bounced around from factory job to factory job for a year, but after being laid off for a 6th time in a year he decided to try to go full time firefighter. He was enrolled at the LAFD Academy and passed with flying colors.. After about a year at LAFD, He was recruited into the Division, but he was involved in a Motorcycle accident when a someone who was texting while driving drunk ran a stop light and hit him on the right side of the bike. He lost his leg below the right knee. After a year and half of recovery and rehab time Jax eventually bounced back and returned to being a line firefighter for LAFD and back to riding motorcycles, but also bought a building close to LA AFB and opened up a Military and first responder theme bar called the Foxhole Speakeasy.

Jax would go on to help his cell lead find new members for the cell with an approved list of candidates. These Candidates included a College student studying Immunology by the name of Charles Parrett, one Marine named Luke Laforge.

When the dollar flu hit LA, things didn’t take long to go to hell in a handbasket. LAFD was rolled up into the JTF, but unfortunately it was too late by the time the JTF was put together, and by the time Jax’s cell was activated the cell lead was dead. Jax took control of the cell, but despite their best efforts, the other first wave LA cells, and the JTFs things went far worse then what they did in New York City.

They were sent into the Projects at Compton, and Carson, but were soon pulled out as this area became a dark zone and a warzone. Half of the first wave was lost in this event alone. It snowballed from there. As the first wave was all but wiped out, a second wave was activated but they were all hunted down and killed before they could make the rally point, and the JTF finally imploded on itself.

By this time The Cell of Jax, Charles, and Luke were the last Division cell active in LA. They retreated to Ports of LA and Long Beach (Called Port Town), which was controlled by a group of former JTF and civilians called the LA Rangers. The Three agents set up shop in the USS Iowa with The Rangers. They soon found themselves being hunted and the Rangers slowly stopped patrolling with the Jax and the others as the Rangers believed they would likely die. So a third call was sent by the LA’s last Cell for help. Now Jax waits with his team for the Third wave to arrive.

Despite always working on the farm he always managed to make every ball game, dance recital, and band concert of each of the 12 Kids. Megan’s relationship with her dad involved a lot of hunting, fishing, and camping. Her dad even got her into conspiracy theories, the more outlandish the better.

Her Dad and her grandpa on her dad’s side taught her about gardening and doomsday prep on some land they owned in the Ozarks, the land contained a decommissioned Titan 2 Missile silo. While she wasn’t the smartest person in her school, she did have a love for physics and Math, and engineering, especially civil engineering. Her grades in everything else were Cs or Ds. When she graduated college she was offered a scholarship by Arkansas State so she could go to school for Civil Engineering. 2 years later the Dollar Flu hit. Little Rock was hit hard by the Dollar Flu, but the Town pulled through and came together for the most part. The exact opposite of what Happened in DC, New York, and LA were things descended into chaos of an everyman for themselves warzone. When the call for help came to LA Megan’s Cell lead gave her the permission to go to LA to help. Using a Horse she had traded for, she had begun the long track to LA.

Secondary Characters: These characters allow for flexibility of the Agents. These are people that volunteer to help the Division in this time of Trouble, but They are not Agents themselves. You are allowed 3 secondary Characters to form a team around your agent. Note that it is recommended that they, like the agents, should be of a different background, the more you have of the same background, the less flexible in a situation you will be. If you try to make your secondary characters seem like Delta Force or Seal Team Six, there will be repercussions for doing so.

Bio:

Micheal Anthony Carbone, commonly referred to as "Mike", was born to a family of coal miners in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. His father, a coal miner at the nearby Vulcan Mine, struggled to provide for him and his two brothers, Giovanni and Dominic. Meanwhile, his mother, an EMT, worked countless hours in an attempt to make ends meet. His childhood was not rough, however, as his parents took financial hits to their own goals and wants to allow the 3 children. He learned to shoot using a BB Gun, and was gifted a Winchester Model 70 for his 16th birthday, which he still carries to this day. His mother taught him how to treat basic wounds, in part to help him be self-sufficient, in part to lessen the workload placed on herself.

When he was 18, he decided to forgo college to begin working in the coal mines. He gained a job at the Vulcan Mine, due to his father using the influence he had gained over 40 years working there to get him a job. After teaching him the basics of the job, his dad retired at age 60, and Mike was left on his own in the coal mines. He did well, and the money he earned, combined with his father's pension, allowed his parents to provide for 16 year-old Dominic and 12 year old Giovanni. However, 4 years later, layoffs would result in him being fired from his job. However, to provide for himself and help his elderly parents provide for the now 16 year old Giovanni, he gained a job as firewatch at White River National Forest. The job gave him a newfound love of the wilderness, a nice change from the smoke and dust of the coal mines. He was hailed as a regional hero for spotting a growing forest fire based on the size of a single plume of smoke. 2 years later, he would leave, deciding that he wanted a job that he could do on his own terms. He would begin hunting animals and selling the meat for a living. The job suited him very well, and during this time he would be recruited to the SHD, after he created his own camouflage pattern, which, upon testing, was revealed to be 75% better than UCP, combined with the recommendation of both his brothers (who had already been recruited to the SHD due to their actions during the Iraq War), reached the SHD's top brass.

His town was, by sheer luck, spared from the dollar flu due to it's isolation. It had clearly been forgotten about, since no government forces had arrived, either. It would be like that for a while, until a traveler came through. The man must have been one of the 10% immune to the dollar flu, because he was not infected by the 5 dollar bill he had been carrying. He decided to buy a steak from Mike's store, paying in cash. The traveler left town, apparently only stopping to get food, and Mike stuffed the money in his cash register, thinking nothing of it. Later, another man, this time from Glenwood Springs, came into his shop. He bought a piece of deer meat, priced at 15 dollars, and gave Mike a 20 dollar bill. Mike gave him the 5 dollar bill from the traveler as change. Soon enough, the man who had received the 5 dollar bill began showing signs of the dollar flu, and the disease spread like a wildfire. Mike, having inherited immunity from their late parents, were not infected. His brothers had been assigned to Denver for a while, and were not there to see the chaos unfold. Mike lived with the 3 other immune people in the town until he was called to Los Angeles by the SHD.

Name: Harry McMahon

Short Bio:
Born in Fort Yukon, Canada, Harry had always loved the wilderness. Raised in a traditional upper middle-class nuclear family, Harry had a relatively easy childhood. At age 14, his parents moved to Glenwood Springs for a job opportunity offered to his father. The family quickly became one of the richest in town, and funded much of the town's public infrastructure. Being next to state forest grew his love for the wilderness even more, and at 22 he got a job as a Park Ranger fresh out of college. He served in that position for 12 years, while running his family's business on the side. Despite his wealth, he continued his work as a park ranger to be closer to the wilderness. He was one of the few in Glenwood Springs who were immune to the dollar flu, and lived with Mike and two others until Mike was called to Los Angeles. Him and the two others decided to tag along, and he brought his state-issued M16A2 Rifle and Glock 17.

Bio: Luke LaForge had a normal childhood, but found himself enlisting at eighteen. While in his last semester, he was approached by the division, and accepted the offer, recovering and coming to terms with his trauma. He would return to school after opening a business, and study forensics and history as extracurriculars while he pursued a Philosophy degree.

When the dollar flu hit, the cell was activated, but the events that followed were hard on Luke. LA turned into a war zone, and members of his team dwindled. Luke would be okay at first, remembering what he learned in counseling, how to cope, although eventually it became going through the motions as he routinely kept on auto-pilot, letting his survival instinct take over. He would put on a façade of always being calm, and continue working without pause. Since being activated, he had suffered many wounds, but has recovered from most of them.

Electrical Pulse - An octagonal prism containing an EMP that fries a electronics in a wide area
Banshee Pulse - A debilitating sonic blast that impairs hearing, balance, and ignores cover/hearing protection.
Bio: J.J. was born in Vancouver, BC. Without an idea as to what he would do with his life, he bounced around from program to program to find what spoke to him. A friend suggested the Disaster response program at the local university and JJ was immediately enamored by the concept, not even aware that disaster response could be a field that was studied. Through years of study he began to find his passions and interests in other subjects and found what really mattered to him. He realized how unprepared the world war, and how vulnerable people really were. In specific the power grid, how fragile it was and how reliant modern day people were to it. Bearing that in mind, he began focusing on the ramifications of the loss of power and how to recover. At the risk of burn out he also picked up electrical engineering to better understand what he was trying to protect.

Once school was finished he bounced around from job to job while applying to BC hydro. For a while he'd work as a greenhouse tech, a cashier and as a line cook, where he would gain a hatred for blue grass music. He would suffer through this for a whole year and a half before being accepted for an internship at BC hydro. However it would not be so simple, as those in charge of hiring him monitored him and considered him the Division initiative through recommendation via an old professor. Ecstatic to finally get a job as a field engineer, he also accepted the secrecy and extreme training of the Division. A chance to really make a difference if things really went south.

Unfortunately things would go south for Vancouver once the Dollar Flu hit. However thanks to the local government wrestling to maintain control of power (both literal and metaphorical) and a fairly harsh winter, the first wave agents were able to contain the chaos of Vancouver after several weeks. Greatly aided by the simple factor that everyone had to work together, or they would freeze and starve to death in the winter. National spirit and a healthy dose of pragmatism allowed the Vancouver agents to move south and secure the border and assist Seattle before finally getting called down to LA.

JJ was tired, but they had braved what he thought was the worst of the storm. Believing that the cause was still worthy, JJ brought a journalist and a soldier who had seemed to fastened himself to his side along with him down to the distress beacon in LA.

Name: Maya Radić
Appearance: Maya Radić
Short Bio: Maya has always been a nosy person with a knack of being in the right place at the right time. She’s had the keep ears for eavesdropping as far as she could remember and the nimble agility to dodge watchful eyes. In high school she ran an information and gossip ring, in university she won a full scholarship for journalism at the George Washington University in her home state, Washington.

With her hard work ethic, she found work with the Associated Press, covering conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa where she would earn a Sidney award and an Edgar A. Poe award for her investigations into human trafficking in combat zones and the effect of Coalition forces against extremist elements. Often this reporting would put bounties on her, but such dangers would not dissuade her from reporting on these issues.

After the US’s gradual pull out of the Middle East began, Maya returned to the United States to cover domestic stories in the continental United States. Her reporting on social justice earned her the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism award, covering riots, protests, marches and more. She would face down aggressive protestors, rioters and riot police all the same. On more than one occasion she would find herself under arbitrary arrest.

Of course when the Dollar Flu came to Seattle, she was first in line to cover the spread and the efforts of the local JTF. Seattle was just as hard hit by the Dollar Flue as any other major city, with the First Wave being activated on December 25th as the city’s food supplies begin running low and medicine begins to fall in shorter supply. Knowing the importance of public opinion, Maya worked hard alongside the JTF and the First Wave agents in Seattle to bring the city back under control. Thanks to Seattle’s distance from New York, they are afforded at least a little bit of extra time before complete collapse of civil services. After a second wave of reinforcement agents from Canada come in to assist the Seattle Division, Seattle is finally pacified.

With her home now stable and relatively safe, she joins one of the Canadian Division agents as they head south to LA to keep up the stories of the Division’s heroism and good work.

Name: Peter Belous
Appearance:
Short Bio: Pete was born in Kamloops, BC and was a bit of an odd kid. He enjoyed nature which was fine, but had a strange fixation on bees. Perhaps it was because Kamloops was BC’s first ‘bee city’. Due to the city’s natural geography, it was a natural bee habitat. Pete was brought up in a lower income home, as a youth he was an Army Cadets to keep him occupied as his family couldn’t afford to put him into any sports or special activities.

After High School, Pete went to school for Melittology, the study of bees. However, despite working part time through high school in Kamloops’ bee farms, he still could not afford to continue his education. So falling back on his only other experiences, he enlisted with the military in order to pursue his education. As part of his term, he would do six years in the military to pay off his education. After five years in service he was promoted to Corporal and recommended for Patrol Pathfinder training for his independence and natural aptitude for physical work.

After training, he was shipped off to CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick. He however would not spend a lot of time here as his unit would be quickly split up and be deployed across Canada to assess the status of Dollar Flu outbreaks across Canada as part of Contingency Plan Renaissance. As part of CBRNE reconnaissance, they would assess the situation ahead of the Army’s Disaster Assistance Response Team and the potential need for Joint Incident Response Unit action.

Pete would be sent back to BC to assess the state of his home province and assist the local government forces in their attempts to secure the area. WIth the breakdown of chain of command, he would be granted the authority to act independently as he saw fit as privilege for being a Pathfinder. He would assist the first wave Canadian Division agents with their operations in BC and now, the United States.

Appearance:

Education: High School
Location: Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Cover Preactivation: Hunter
Job History:
Hunter - Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Firewatch - White River National Forest, Colorado
Coal Miner - Newcastle, Colorado
Personality:
Mike Carbone, at first glance, seems to be your average blue collar American. Foul-mouthed, blunt, and full of words of wisdom that do not belong on a report like this. He's very confrontational, speaking his mind on any subject mentioned in his vicinity. Despite his behavior, he tends to be very optimistic, and can lighten the mood of almost any situation. His optimism, however, can sometimes become a detriment, with him failing to see exactly how bad a situation is.

Likes: Bourbon, Hunting, dark and/or enclosed areas
Dislikes: Open Areas, Fire, Spiders
Strengths:
Perceptive - His time as a firewatch taught him to be very perceptive. He can spot nearly anything, even from far away.
Gruff - Mike isn't afraid to get his hands dirty to accomplish things
Weaknesses:
Stubborn - It's Mike's way or the high way
Hot-Headed - When this guy explodes, he explodes
Primary Weapon: SCAR-H (EGLM-H, Suppressor, EOTECH Holographic Sight)
Secondary Weapon: Pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 (10x Scope)
Sidearm: Browning Hi-Power (No Attachments)
Equipment: Multiple camo jackets, a few white t-shirts, woodland camo pants, jeans, Olive Drab field cap, Combat Knife, picture of family, 10 7.62x51 Magazines, 5. 308 Winchester Magazines, 7 .40 S&W Magazines, 10x 40mm Grenades
Skill Set: Mike is a master of camouflage, being able to blend into almost any environment. Along with his marksmanship, this can be a deadly combination.
Abilities:
Thermal Optics - Made out of an NVG mount and Thermal Binoculars, Mike's "Thermal Optic Goggles", originally made for hunting, allow him to use thermal optics while moving.
Tranquilizer Gun - Mike carries a small tranquilizer rifle, firing a dart with enough tranquilizer to knock a Deer unconscious. This can be useful when a target needs to be taken alive, or when a non-combatant poses a threat to a mission's secrecy.

Him and the two others decided to tag along, and he brought his Pre-Ban SP1 Rifle and Glock 17.

Short Bio: Lazlo is an L.A. native. Kind of. He was born in Hungary, but his family immigrated when he was three. His father married an American woman who lived in LA, and he wished for his family to be together in America. Lazlo's father was a handyman, he opened up his own workshop in LA to sell his services while his mother handled the business' finances and PR. Lazlo had an appreciation for working with his hands from a young age and would become his father's apprentice, much to his father's surprise and joy. He practiced guitar in his downtime as a hobby and bonded with his sister over music.

When the Dollar Flu hit LA, Lazlo’s entire life was thrown into disarray as he rapidly lost contact with his three other family members. For the last few months, Lazlo has been tracking down his family. His father had been taken by The Wardens, while his mother had succumbed to the chaos of the city and had been killed. With the knowledge that his father was at least somewhat safe in Warden territory, he continued his hunt for his sister when he found a trio of souls wandering into LA, about to trespass into Warden territory.

Bio: Luke LaForge had a normal childhood, but found himself enlisting at eighteen. He would train to become an Infantry Marine, and eventually serve three combat deployments before his contract would run out. He would decline to re-enlist, the trauma from his most recent deployment a major factor in that decision. He would use his GI bill, and get a business degree, while seeking psychological counseling.

Job History:
  • Canadian Armed Forces: 1989 - 2011
  • Flight Paramedic: 2011 - Present
  • SHD: 2012 - Present
Personality: Wolfram's psyche is one that is stereotypical of an aging soldier with his experiences, calm, orderly, and borderline unshakeable. These qualities were further hammered home by piloting qualifications and his role as an emergency responder. A strong sense of morals and a fatherly attitude to his peers makes the man a good team leader but a poor tactician, inability to accept collateral damage and act with a risk of his companions coming under fire makes him a poor officer but a good squad or team lead. He cares for those under his command with the same concern as his own children.
Likes: Waffles, order, a good old burger, the smell of fire, rain.
Dislikes: Pancakes, humidity, drought, burn pits.
Strengths: A competent medical professional, semi-accomplished engineer, and experinced soldier, Wolfram is an accompolished leader in a few facets of society, and has already managed to assist in wrangling one of the US' major population centers back into a civil order. As such, he has a worthwhile experience with bridging gaps between fractured communities and the challenges that may be faced ahead.
Weaknesses: As stated prior, Wolfram has a hard time letting go. Whether of people, objects, or even ground, Wolfram will fight tooth and nail for every person, ration, and inch of ground whether it's a good idea or not.

  • Striker Drone: Division Standard quadrotor drone armed with a 9x19mm submachine gun.
Bio: near Freiburg, Germany to a businessman and a real estate agent. Nearly three years after Wolfram was born, his mother died from a brain aneurysm. His father was left to hire a nanny, due to the assorted business trips he took. Due to this, Wolfram never gave much affection to his seemingly always absent father. When he was a thirteen his father and his new Step-Mother (former nanny) moved to Victoria, Canada, where Wolfram started another chapter of his life.

His life was determinedly average, though his academics were quite high. In his seventeenth year of life, he met his eventual wife, Clover Donnell. The two hit it off, and eventually they moved in together after Wolfram started attending UVIC with military aid in the fast track to an engineering degree. During which he did eventually get engaged to, and marry Clover. After he got said degree, he was assigned from the reserve of PPCLI, to that of the Airborne Regiment.

Here he served with the distinction that he was noticeable, but due to the nature of Cyprus' situation he gained no medals whatsoever. Somalia was an entirely different bag. After news dropped of the Somalia affair, Wolfram was a bit fucked up about the whole situation, having personally known one of the men involved. And not at all enthused about the attempted cover up. And even more so when he was left in the slight limbo of being less than welcomed back by his peers in the Patricias. So with the obvious leave granted to him, he decided to have a kid.

After a few months of waiting with his wife for a child. Wolfram put a strain on their relationship by joining up with JTF2 when they offered. He was intermittently deployed to Bosnia in sniper alley, and then returned home to help in the formative years of his child, before shipping out again. This pattern repeated Ad nauseam until 2001 when he was deployed in more stable situations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

On a fateful day in late 2009, Wolfram had been attached to a convoy of general infantry through a mountainous village near Kandahar. A roadside bomb nearly killed him, spraying him with an absurd amount of shrapnel, scarring most of his body, nearly deafening him in one ear, and leaving him with several embedded pieces of rock, glass and metal. It was then the convoy came under rather hefty fighting. In a result, Wolfram was tagged and passed out from fluid loss. He survived the encounter due to the medical personnel within the convoy, but he didn't wake up for nearly three months.

Said three months were hell on his family. After having been shipped over to Ramstein, and then back to Toronto, his family nearly lived in that city for the few months he did.

When he finally woke up, he was -as expected- different. From the open and always smiling man, he became reserved and always a bit cautious. Though despite the layer of paranoia, fear, and short fused concern, Wolfram was still there. It was something his family needed to get used to but they managed. Wolfram managed to recover fully by late 2011. It was at about this time the man realized his luck in life had run out on that front. And when his time ran up, he retired from the Canadian Armed Forces.

His wife Clover, a US citizen herself, coerced Wolfram to move with her down to her hometown in Tucson, Arizona.

It was around that time that Wolfram enrolled the University of Arizona with a software engineering degree in mind. About mid way through his degree, he started doing a number of extracurricular activities that seemed to suck time away from his still growing family, eventually finding a job as a flight paramedic, thanks to completing a recent course, and his experience in the Canadian Army as a medic, a job that would strain him both in his family life as well as academically. That being said, he did obtain his second degree and with little room to spare.

Wolfram was activated for his locale, and he and a number of other agents for the SHD were tasked with keeping Tucson in a state of civil normalcy. It was, compared to most other locales, an easy feat. Tucson was in a notably dry, arid area, Dollar Flu fatalities were low compared to most other regions like New York or DC, though they were still quite high. Tucson's high level of self sufficiency initiatives such as water reclamation and retention programs, mass amounts of solar energy plants and proximity to a military base meant that wrangling the situation in the city wasn't a war so much as it was a crisis. It took roughly 5 months before the situation in Tucson was considered 'stable' and the city required no Third Wave of agents.

However, LA did. And with his family in safe condition, the situation in Tucson 'stable', Wolfram was affectively volunteered with his team to head to LA and help calm the situation there.

  • Riot Foam Chem Launcher: A launcher that fires a canister of incredibly adhesive and rapidly expanding foam to slow or immobilize targets. One Riot, One Ranger.
Bio: Born in the farmland immediately North of Tucson, Hunter was always a child of nature. His youth was one of a child from Rural areas, drinking straight from the hose, debriding scraped knees, backyard wrestling. At the age of 5, he joined the Scouts, though at 10, during a Barbecue when assisting his father when carrying food out to the grill, a wet patch of grass lead to the boy skewering a wooden spike in to his windpipe, namely his larynx.

The ensuing damage was enough to restrict the young man's breathing for a majority of his early years, and while his vocal cords eventually healed, his voice is weak enough that he was considered legally mute. His disability however only managed to slow him down, by 13 he'd managed to obtain the mandatory merit badges for Eagle Scout, and by 16 he'd gotten the medal for being one. His last two years in the Scouts were spent picking up ancillary Merit badges and finally cashing out at 18.

That same year he found work on a neighbouring Farm, as well as volunteer work as an Arizona Ranger, primarily as administrative duties or as ridealongs for arrests. The large man at that point had gained a reputation for being a true hearted patriot. Subsequently, he was taken in for selection by the SHD.

Young, full of vigor, and notably exceeding in physical categories, his mental faculties were rock solid, his loyalty was second to none, and his knowledge of various skills and subjects was something the SHD needed in spades. Outside of his voice issues, the man was the model Agent. It was over this period as an SHD sleeper that Hunter became somewhat close with one Ingrid Herrman. A girl close to his age, and by sheer coincidence, daughter of another SHD agent. Their relationship didn't get all too far along before SHTF.

It was relatively calm in Tucson, all things considered. The climate had the level of infection much lower than projected for the Green Poison, with the swift action of plague control by cremating bodies, and the irony of a resident Televangelist being an SHD Sleeper with more than enough rations and emergency housing to spare, Tucson -at least compared to NYC and DC- pretty much glided through the apocalypse.

With Tucson considered stable, Hunter and Wolfram volunteered as 3rd Wave Agents for LA. Loading up in a Humvee, and with enough supplies to make it there and back if need be, they started their 8 hour drive.

Job History:
    University IT-Department (2009-2010)
Boston Police Department, Cyber Crime Unit (2011-2014)
    NSA Counter-Intelligence (2014-present)
Personality:
Kennedy Bowen can best be described as "odd." Possesses a dry, morbid sort of humor and typically relies on sarcasm when dealing with others, and although capable of exemplary cooperation within a unit her attitude can oftentimes come across as "off-putting." Has an obscene fascination with the macabre. An avid consumer of horror films, literature, and artwork, and is quite knowledgeable in the study of history, specifically that of an upsetting nature. Kennedy is quite friendly despite her standoffish demeanor. Doesn't enjoy being the center of attention but is unafraid to speak her mind. Seems to be lonely, hence her doting on her canine companion and, surprisingly, she is easily embarrassed.
Likes:
Kennedy likes animals (all kinds), horror movies, video games, and dark humor. Drinks coffee religiously.
Dislikes:
Avoids physical labor, cigarettes, and anything she considers cheesy or corny. Gets motion sick so dislikes fast or reckless drivers. Doesn't like high temperatures.
Strengths:
Kennedy is able to focus in even the most stressful of situations. Is knowledgeable about many things (though not necessarily skilled) and is very intelligent. Has a very good memory and an eye for detail. Is a quick learner and only needs to be shown how to do something once. Weaknesses:
Is generally standoffish and socially awkward. Is incapable of public speaking and, once made the center of attention, becomes tongue tied. Kennedy is somewhat of a perfectionist and will usually spend extra time ensuring that something is done just right.

Skill Set:
Kennedy is a skilled technician, working with both hardware and software (including programming). Additionally, is an expert in computer security, capable of encrypting and decrypting data, creating/defeating malware, and gaining access to otherwise locked systems. Her primary focus is computers, however, can reasonably interact with robotics, electronics, and vehicles to a passable degree. Has shown promise in administration. Is a proficient marksmen in low-risk scenarios.
Abilities:
+ Edgar: A black Belgian Malinois, the canine is reasonably intelligent and able to complete simple tasks (such as fetching items). Additionally, Edgar is trained to take down targets, non-lethal or lethal. Has a canine ballistic vest. Responds only to commands in French.

+ Network Scan: Using her laptop/smartphone, Kennedy can detect electronics within 100 yards (so long as they are wireless and active). This does not immediately identify the device, merely that it is nearby. Once a device is located she can take time to actively engage to identify the device or to hack into it's systems/network. Once in the system Kennedy can disable the device, secure data, implant malware, take control, etc.
Bio:
Kennedy Bowen was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on October 17, 1986, the second-youngest of four children. Her father was a police officer and her mother an accountant. The family was middle-class, and despite the money problems that would arise from time-to-time life went on as normal. Extravagant vacations were few and far between, generally limited to trips across the border to the United States, but food was always on the table, a roof over their heads, and the family made do without fuss. As a teenager, and already an avid fan of the creepy and macabre, Kennedy would dive headfirst into the "goth" counter-culture, largely to be different — her brothers and sister were quite "normal" by most standards — yet jokingly attributed to a moderate concussion suffered a few years prior. (She was struck in the head by an errant softball during recess.) Despite her oddities, Kennedy was very intelligent, and would attend University of Toronto on scholarship to study Criminology and Network Administration. Kennedy would then move to Boston to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Working in the school's IT Department, after graduation she was hired onto by the Boston Police Department with the Cyber Crimes Unit. Her career was promising, enough so that her skills were soon scouted by the federal government following an incident where her unit were instrumental in solving a domestic terrorism case. Kennedy accepted the offer and was soon hired by the National Security Agency and was transferred to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

During the pandemic, Kennedy was amongst those chosen within federal agencies to participate in the Strategic Homeland Division and received additional training, during which she was assigned to a K-9 unit. Although showing a willingness to assist the SHD, Kennedy has maintained sporadic contact with her family in Montreal, who had survived the initial outbreak, and has shown a desire to return back to Canada when possible. In the meantime she has since been deployed to Los Angeles for field work.

Though whether or not his silence is inherent to his personality, or as a result of being legally mute, is unknown. Likes: Red meat, potatoes, mushrooms, corn, pie, rain.
Dislikes: leafy vegetables, diet soda, forests, shoddy wiring.
Strengths: Hunter is built like a fridge with limbs, a borderline insane workout regimen even by SHD standards has lead to the man being more than capable of keeping up mobility with heavy loads.
Weaknesses: Hunter is legally mute, while he can vocalize, his voice is less than audible, and cannot get any louder than a hoarse whisper. He is also a notably large target.

  • Sniper Turret: A self targeting turret of SHD design armed with a long range rifle firing .50 BMG.

With Tucson considered stable, Hunter and Wolfram volunteered as 3rd Wave Agents for LA. Loading up in a Humvee, and with enough supplies to make it there and back if need be, they started their 8 hour drive.

Welcome aboard
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is suppose to go here?

Bio: Alexandra was born and raised in Spring Valley, Nevada, just two miles away from the bright lights and big city atmosphere of Las Vegas. The youngest of three children her mother was a teacher-turned-housewife while her father was a fairly successful trader at a securities firm. His money allowed her to go the same private school her siblings had attended where she was a bright if unenthusiastic student, doing particularly well in math and science while art classes fell by the wayside. On weekends and summer vacations she her father visited the family ranch in Coahuila and went hunting with some of their extended family, a pastime the girl would grow to love along with the firearms used in the activity. This interest would lead to her seeking work in one of the many gun stores and ranges in Las Vegas, a job she held through her teens and into her 20s.

By the 6th grade Alexandra knew she wanted to be some sort of medical professional, by the 8th she had settled on the paramedic service to the mild chagrin of her parents who had expected her to chase a doctorate.
But nevertheless they paid off the tuition that wasn't covered by partial scholarships and Alexandra was enrolled in the Paramedical Science program at the College of Southern Nevada for Paramedical Science. Upon graduation at the age of 21 she joined up with the first hospital that would take her. The work was gruesome but very gratifying, the time of service that she could point to as something she was proud of. She actually met her future husband Marcus while on shift, the pair forming a work partnership that would mature into love sooner rather than later. She was married at 24 and had twins at 25.

By the eight year of paramedical service Alexandra was beginning to feel bogged down by the grind. She wanted a change in life and while chasing her way up the medical ladder was certainly an option she preferred her shifts to be total shifts. So at the age of 29 she went to law school on a whim, earning her JD degree and signing onto a firm as a specialist in medical litigation while returning back to college to earn her doctorate in Paramedical Science just so she could call herself a doctor-lawyer. It was during this particularly hectic period of her life that Alexandra was approached by the Strategic Homeland Division. While the nature of its existence worried the legal analyst in her the part that craved something to do made her say yes. The secret training sounded like fun and it wasn't like Armageddon was going to happen anytime soon.

And then of course, it happened. Las Vegas was hit hard by the disease, the constant flow of cash in and out the perfect vector for the Dollar Flu to spread. Alexandra and her entire family caught it in the early days and while she turned out to be one of the 5% with immunity her husband and children were not. Burdened with the crushing knowledge that she might very well have been the vector through which the flu entered her home Alexandra threw herself into her work. With her fellow Division agents and what was left of the JTF she helped carve out a safe zone on the Strip, mostly providing medical care and putting her people skills to work making peace between various factions.

Over the course of a year relative sanity returned. Part of Vegas were still Hell on Earth but a solid base had been set up in the middle of it with power and security provided for its inhabitants. Alexandra assisted JTF leadership in reestablishing the rule of law with an organized police force and guidelines for punishment more complex than "shoot 'em in the head". She would soon be faced with a lull in work and thus nothing but time to reflect on the loss of her family, something she simply could not bear to do. The call for assistance from Los Angeles was a godsend, an excuse to bury her head in her work and keep going. She gathered her team and saddled up for the long ride west.

Personality:

Ledoux expresses a personality symbolic of Pararescue operators, being a profoundly perceptive, collected and empathetic individual who is acclimatised to working in small groups with little prospect of support. She is intuitive, wastes little and grows tight with those who they work with. Ledoux showcasing a clear loyalty to her comrades within intimate team environments. During active scenarios, she’s professional and locked on, demonstrating excellent flexibility within the field, being regarded as an excellent medic who can withstand well within high-stress situations.

This, however, comes with distinct expectations on her part. Ledoux expects everybody to pull their weight and be considerate of each other’s situations. This being largely brought on by the amount of trust Ledoux is required to put in teammates within the high stress environment. She scant patience for those who cannot operate effectively within teams, particularly those who do things that put others at risk. When it happens, she is often the first to call it out when the timing is appropriate, which has contributed to strong negative relationships with her previous team members.

Socially, she carries an affectionate personality, with Ledoux often taking it upon herself to remember what she can about her fellow team members to make them feel valued and making sure that they are looked after. She's noted as possessing a sarcastic streak, her trademark being dry remarks, with Ledoux showcasing a high level of self-confidence when placed in social sicuations. This mindset has deteriorated over in the last few months however, the Smallpox Variola Chimera epidemic has left her at an emotional low point, with Ledoux having lost most of her loved ones within the last six months.

Traumatised from the experience, she’s become much more depressed, emotionally dull and holds a profoundly despondent attitude toward SHD’s overall mission. While still driven by empathic reasons to help who she cans, she feels that the division is merely delaying the inevitable, and care little about the actual people on the ground.

Likes:

Ledoux has a soft spot for animals, particularly that of cattle, dogs and birds. Prides herself on being an amatuer bird watcher.

Ledoux is a fan of sports, notibly baseball and soccer. Supports the New Orlean Pelicans, and while she doesn't support any American soccer teams, she is a keen supporter of Paris Saint-Germain.

Enjoys hand rolled cigarettes, considers it to be a sutible "art" to getting them right.

Dislikes:

Strongly dislikes American football, considers it a lesser sport than most.

Lehr has a strong dislike for those who do not function well within team environments.

Strengths:

Pararescue Jumper: Ledoux has served as a para-rescue jumper for most of her adult life. As a result, she is a highly qualified field medic who is qualified in battlefield medicine and combat search and rescue roles, having additionally spent over a year attached to special forces units in Cameroon, Afghanistan and Iraq. She is highly capable of working within small teams and with little outside support.

Collected: Ledoux is a notibly calm person, with her generally being able to keep a cool head in even the most stressful of situations. She rarely raises her voice unless necessary and can keep up a front of composure even under extreme stress.

Weaknesses:

Strict: Ledoux has a low tolerance for undue slack and dangerous behaviour in the field, her experiences as a first wave agent in Baton Rouge has molded this view point deeply. Direct at first, she can become more hostile about it if it keeps occurring, something made worse if the persons personality is abrasive.

Disillusioned: Ledoux has become severely disillusioned with SHD throughout her activation as a division agent. During her time in Baton Rouge within the first wave, she lost most of her family, friends, and fellow agents. The events of the efforts to regain control leaving her heavily traumatised. She has since adopted a rather nililistic viewpoint on the overall state of the world, and the mission goals of the SHD. She trusts very little in what anyone has to say, and she can be easily swayed into turning rogue under the right conditions.

Bio:
Born in 1986 in Sugartown, Louisiana. Ledoux grew up among two siblings in a working-class family primarily involved within the dairy and livestock business, running a small-sized family-owned pasture and abattoir. Her youth was chiefly concentrated in rural areas within a tight community, with Sugartown possessing a population of fewer than sixty. Her father died when she was six because of a workplace accident, leaving to be raised primarily by her mother.

She assisted within the family business from an early age because of her mother having to take over day-to-day operation. With her performing a lot of manual labour throughout her early teenage years, spending an extensive amount of time amongst animals, notably cattle, and the processes involved in their care, welfare, and eventual slaughter, with Daniele Ledoux being officially employed at sixteen as an abattoir assistant. Her mother rarely recognised her achievements and instead kept a focus on the business, hoping to push Daniele towards continuing to work within that environment, something that only fostered a highly competitive nature with a streak of aggression as she sought validation.

Her schooling turned out to be academically average, attending DeRidder Junior High School. She maintained a grade set that was nothing particularly impressive, passing through high school with a standard GED. Daniele did shine within the field of athletics, but not enough to earn a college scholarship. She did well notably within track and soccer, with Daniele making the teams soccer captain within her school’s youth team at the tail end of her high school education.

She graduated from school in 2004 with no real serious prospects, initially continued to working within her household business but felt an absence of personal gratification. Daniele briefly considered college, hoping to study veterinary medicine, but a lack of funds led to her electing to enter the air force after a trade fair, enlisting soon after.

Selected para-rescue following the conclusion of MEPS and ASVAB, starting the basic military training in late 2004 after accomplishing the pass test. Ledoux found the training to be challenging but fulfilling, sticking out the two-year cycle, with her obtaining her maroon beret in 2006 after completion of the apprentice course, beginning the year continuation training, shadowed constantly by their instructor during their progression tour.

Assigned to 347th Rescue Group’s 38th Rescue Squadron in 2007, stationed out of Moody AFB in Georgia. Worked with them for three years within a search and rescue group. With Dani primarily doing training and paperwork during her time, this being occasionally broken up with the occasional humanitarian and domestic rescue deployment, glimpsing a deployment to Haiti during the 2010 earthquake.

Reenlisted in late 2010, received additional training and refreshers before being transferred to the 321st Special Tactics Squadron based at RAF Mildenhall. Saw multiple short deployments in Cameroon, Iraq, and Afghanistan as an attache to special forces units, seeing combat on several occasions primarily in Iraq and Afghanistan. This drew the attention of division recruiters towards the end of her service. When given the option to continue to protect her country from a possible collapse, Daniele jumped at the offer. Undertaking division training alongside several other pararescue and air force special operations personnel.

Ledoux returned home in 2014, heading back to Sugartown. Daniele went into the reserves before attending university to study veterinary medicine in Baton Rouge as part of their division cover plan. Beginning their studies with their possible activation being in the background as they hoped to return home with a valued skillset and help their farming community.

Shortly after the 2015 black Friday attack, Daniele saw activation in Baton Rouge, being one of the first wave agents with cell to attempt to maintain order within the city. This however proved to be a demoralising experience, with Ledoux losing most of loved ones and cell over the six months of attempting to wrestle control of the city against opportunistic gangs and rogue police units.

The situation barely stabilised in her home state, and demoralised, Ledoux followed her orders to head west to LA, despite having her own doubts, in the hopes of finding a friend who had been a first wave agent.

Skill Set: Extensive medical and legal training, interpersonal communication skills and fluency in both English and Spanish.
Abilities:
-Doofus: Alexandra put a lot of time and money into training her handsome boy. Equipped with level IIIA ballistic armor Doofus is capable of attacking targets, dragging people around and generally being a good boy.
-Pulse: Tags enemies and obstacles
-Peacemaker: A single shot wrist mounted launcher firing a canister of specially formulated fast dissipating sedative. Those caught in the immediate spray will generally pass out on the spot with the effect lessening the farther away they are.
