Several miles offshore of the Continent of Aquilaria, Rear Admiral Elijah Addison, Commander of Carrier Strike Group 1, is the first recorded outsider to see land on Terra Nova with his own eyes. He hands the binoculars over to Captain Winfred Purcell, the captain of the carrier INS Carter, which they are observing from the bridge of. The men share a smirk with each other. They made it.

R. Adm. Addison was tasked with establishing a foothold and forward operating base in the northwestern area of Aquilaria to anchor a territorial claim around. Satellite reconnaissance has revealed the area they are landing in is almost entirely uninhabited, with a fairly primitive society a few hundred miles east along the coast.

The group anchors just off the coast in a large bay at the mouth of a river. Sailors and Marines were a buzz on the beach, bringing supplies ashore to set up camp. While this group was primarily here to establish just a forward operating base, longer range plans call it to become a full military place with a town to be located across the river.

Addison looks out from the bridge of the Carter, seeing the activity on shore, feeling a mix of emotions. He knows that this expedition will likely be his legacy. He prays it will be one he wants people to remember.

Cabinet Briefing Room
Executive Residence
Wilmington, West Monroe, Ibica

President Hunter sat back contemplating as he and his advisors attended a video conference with V. Adm. Addison and his staff in Aquilaria, mulling over the implications of their arrival in this new world.

".. and with the resources that we have available here, we could be self sustainable here once we have a civilian base." Hunter snapped back to the meeting as Addison finished answering questions from the department heads. "So what say you Mr. President?"

Todd Hunter looked around to the faces of the department secretaries, and seeing looks of approval and satisfaction on their faces, he felt assured it was the right decision. "I suppose I can approve for civilians to enter the area. Federal Employees only though first. How soon can you have an improvised runway ready? I want an IGS (Ibican Geological Survey) team and civilian law enforcement there before any other civilians."

"Of course sir, if I could get an A-30 here tomorrow with some better construction equipment, I can have it shored up enough for 310's to be landing in a few days."

"Chamberlain, (Clark Chamberlain, Secretary of Defense) I'm sure you could coordinate with the Air Force, get them ready to mobilize out there? Good. Also, Addison. Countesia has let us know they'll be landing on Aquilaria as well, a few hundred miles to your south. Looks like you'll have some company. Alright, I believe that's everything, Thank you Addison."

Raznov Guilo waited anxiously on the ship, RIS Loco, a military cargo ship carrying the rest of the 37th Colonial Guard Battalion. The 23 year old had been in the force for 1 year after graduating college from the Univeristy of Sarbia. After joing the colonial guards, he entered in the army as staff sargent of the battalion, getting a good pay for his lifestyle. However, that changed his plans as his battalions was chosen, honored they said to be sent to claim and control a new land claimed by the Empire.

He clutched his FAN-25. He wasn't supposed to fight, but in a new environment full of unknowns and possibly to hostile natives, there was much that was unknown.

"Land sighted. I repeat land sighted." Said the loudspeaker on the ship. Guilo got up to the deck, as did most people and saw the new land on which they were to colonise. This was his new home.

Lieutenant Colonel Lucifer Licinus stood on RIS Loco and was the first to touch the land of their force. He moved swiftly, ordering two companies to make a perimeter and ordering anoher to load supplies. The final two began to assemble the tents and the moveable small HQ headquarters. After one hour, there was a orderly area of tents with the HQ near the coast. There were still loads of supplies on the beach head and the two companies soon arrived with the good news of no signs of life.

He then ordered an Colonial Labor Battalion that followed the battalion to begin construction to hold supplies and a small wall with towers for protection. The small naval detachment left one destroyer to protect their naval front and moved back to the closest colony to gather more supplies. The colony of Yuletan had been created

Countesian Settlement Zone
Terra Nova

Establishing a colony hundreds of miles away from any reliable support from the mainland was not a new experience for Jacob Tanner, his experience and success in establishing a thriving community in West Caustoles saw to it that he was considered the only individual qualified to do it again. Plucked away from the land he had worked so hard to tame, he now sat in the rear seat of an rigid hulled boat as it sped towards the landmass he was tasked with settling.

He was the first to leap from the boat as it collided softly with the sand. To the left of him a few hundred meters away was the mouth of a yet to be named river which split which the endless stretch of beach in two. A handful of men followed him as they made their way across the sand and onto the grass beyond the beach which acted as a barrier between the sand and the treeline which laid ahead. Satellite cartography had deemed this location the most suitable spot for a colony, as it was in the middle of their recognised claim and stood at the mouth of a river which led upstream towards the mountains which they hoped to prospect. It would serve as a route for vessels to ferry ore, should the mountains yield profitable deposits. He looked back across the water at the small flotilla that had accompanied them. Three transport vessels and one destroyer laid anchor almost a mile away, on board two thousand colonists and one hundred and fifty marines waited for him to give the greenlight to begin sending over colonists and materials. Satisfied with their location, he radioed back to the flotilla

"Site is viable for settlement, i'm giving the greenlight." He spoke into his hand radio. Several voices replied in confirmation. Minutes later the rear well decks of the transport vessels lurched open and several landing craft began making their way towards the shoreline, ferrying settlers, supplies and their prefabricated homes.

Although he found himself missing West Caustoles and the home he had built, he couldn't help but look forward to what the future held for this colony.

Forward Operating Base Turnbull
Ibican Claim

Two Ibican Air Force A-30's land one after another on an improvised airstrip. These planes are considered the workhorses of the Armed Forces, crucial to folding remote areas like this. Aboard the planes are limited construction equipment, and members of the Army Corps of Engineers. The plan is for at least five A-30's to land a day, delivering more men and troops, until a less temporary runway is built.

Also landing back near the strip are several helicopters sent out to survey the area. No human presence for 100 miles any direction. But there is a village about 120 miles up river. A decision is made to try to make contact once they are settled.

Their landing site is now dotted with tents and temporary structures. Barracks, medical, canteen, and recreation areas. Complacency seems a little higher here than other deployments, but given the lack of threats, it was inevitable.

The last plane scheduled to land today contains the first Ibican civilians, a Scientific Survey Team from the IGS, a handful of Civilian Department of the Navy Police, and two Deputy Ibican Marshals.

Tomorrow the Air Force will be deploying the 12th Mission Support Group to Aquilaria, giving the area a permanent presence from each branch of the Armed Forces.

Congress also passed the Aquilaria Organic Act, allowing for a Federal Territory to be established in the area, and making V. Adm Addison the Acting Governor until a civilian can be appointed. The act also authorizes the creation of Joint Base Turnbull, which is the long term plan for the existing FOB.

Aboard the RNS Epitus a large military ship conditions were freezing the 5th Nytoan brigade was about to land well at least it can’t get any worse then aboard here a officer said clearly a optimist. Then they heard it a yell from someone on deck “LAND” the people on the ship quickly buried up onto the top decks then they saw land, a officer said “that’s what we’re went to follow” getting angry the only thing they saw was ice covered mountains snowing nonstop with ice reaching out into the water. Then cracks appeared in the ice with a cracking sound then a thud signalling there landing as the ramps went down all the soldiers rushed off. After the soldiers got off they were knee deep in snow finally after 2 hours they found a good location to setup tents and the workers to begin building barracks and buildings.

The big cargo ship behind them was probably a curious sight to the natives. A floating village of steel was not something that pre-industrial folks saw every day. Even so, Anne Jackson hoped that they wouldn't cause too much of a commotion. Yet.

The discovery of previously unknown lands was a rare thing in this day and age. Catarapanian intelligence satellites had determined which of the indigenous nations was the most advanced, and had determined that the nation on the Western portion of Colombia was the most likely to be capable of understanding that the Catarapanians were not gods or magicians. They were Renaissance level, at best, but they could be taught how to achieve greater things.

But before that could happen, Anne's job came into play. She was an anthropologist by trade, and it was her task to learn about the native language and culture. That would be the foundation. But after that... well, the goal was to kickstart the Industrial Revolution, and improve quality of life for the natives.

And it all started here. She and her team were on their way to a native city in a motorboat. They would stop at the shore, and approach the natives. Hopefully, all would go well.

In the control station morale was low soldiers were told that food was going to be airdropped but many thought the government just told them that as a way to lift morale before the abandoned them realizing how useless the land was, one or two optimists thought that they were going to pick them up or bring reinforcements. However 48 hours later the promised time a Nytoan cargo plane flew over the building base camp and then it dropped packages full of food water and even ammo for fighting the local wildlife a endeavour that no one took seriously during the training and voyage but proving to be a constantly encroaching threat out of the original 6000 soldiers 50 had died already just 2 days into the expedition. Then the news was heard of there radio the 3rd division was coming in 1 week this news lifted everyone's spirits the 3rd division had performed a suicide charge in freezing cold conditions voluntarily and got off with almost no casualties and ended the civil war in one swoop, a few people still thought it was a way to raise morale that would never happen but these were just usually people looking for reasons to badmouth the government that left them there.

2 ZN civilian ships sail through the southern sea towards the hopefully trade important islands in the middle of the ocean and the islands. They have 120 civilians 25 mercenaries and 5 diplomats in 2 ships. GPS says they should arrive soon then they spot the coast and prepare to get off. Their first objective is to search for natives and if they are on the islands make peaceful contact. They land on the most eastern island.

SANS ST. LAWRENCE
5 MILES OFF THE COAST OF COLUMBIA BAY
TERRA NOVA

The final recon mission landed on the flight deck of the SANS St. Lawrence. After a large amount of commotion on the ship, with the first landing force preparing to move in. The 25th Air Cavalry Regiment began to board their helicopters while the 5th Engineer Company began to enter landing boats. The 4th Joint Air Support Squadron begins patrolling the above area, making sure no natives enter the LZ.

The sounds of ZB-98 transport helicopters fill the air of Columbia Bay. Members of the 25th Air Cavalry stream out of their helicopters and secure and LZ, while the 5th Engineer Company land on the beach, and begin offloading the supplies from the helicopters to build a pier. After 5 hours, a small pier is finally built, and civilian boats begin offloading their passengers. Tents are set up in the area, while the 5th Infantry Division lands on the beaches and begins guarding the new settlement.

Joint Base Turnbull
3 days since landing

Army Corps of Engineer soldiers have begun laying out the groundwork for the first permanent paved runway, and supplies have kept up their steady stream. Dirt roads have are starting to be beat in to the grass as more and more vehicles are being used. Scouting parties are moving farther and farther inland, searching for areas to set up the resource production they'll need to not be dependant on the mainland.

On the opposite side of the river from the main military encampment, the growing number of civilians are at work establishing a town, though it is just tents and dirt roads so far. The pontoon bridge the Marine's set up on day one is scheduled to be replaced by a more permanent one once the runway is complete.

Also scheduled for when the runway is complete, are civilian flights. Chartered by the government, but civilian, bringing in more federal employees, but also representatives of private businesses looking to profit off of... I mean help expansion in the area.

To everyone's delight there are few dangerous animals, mostly consisting of wolves and a yet unidentified species of brown bear. Back home it wouldn't be too much concern, but these animals don't yet seem to fear humans and will wander right into camp. Otherwise, a number of game animals have been spotted, and the waters are teeming with fish life, no doubt this is what the villages inland have been subsisting off of.

Teams from the IGS have been accompanying Marine patrols of the claimed territory, and they believe the area will soon be suitable for civilian development.

Back home, Congress is heatedly debating how to treat the natives. Aerial surveillance has lead them to speculate they aren't much further evolved than the iron age. Many are concerned about biohazards, will we spread disease to them that their bodies can't handle. Should they be assimilated? Should they be left alone? Or should some sort of middle road be taken?

The explorers come with a translator/scholar. They try and figure out each other’s language so they can talk. They grab masks to prevent possible disease spread. They also begin to pour concrete ports and pave roads. Another 4 boats with 40 construction workers and materials are sent. They will arrive tomorrow to construct a small town. They use satellites to determine a map of the island.

The natives become agitated at the site of construction near their village. They are just a small village though so only have a handful of fighters with spears and are unwilling to fight. The elders speak Esperanto to be able to communicate with the traders from Terano when they come. Secretly, the send out messengers to the other villages on the island to warn them of invaders.

Nytoan forces had set up small camps all the way to shore the largest camp on the shore had 10 large tents that can contain 7 people and 4 barrack tent each one can contain 200 people this was preparation for 2nd battalion that was being transported on a water landing troop carrier once the troop carrier had landed soldiers got out the reason for this was to secure more positions and fill in for casualties 5000 soldiers were ordered on a expedition to expand and look for habitable ground. there goal is to take the entire island and other locations. up too 15k more will come in the next few months. This is the reason why the 3rd division is coming is to help secure the more dangerous land.

4 Days Since Landing
Joint Base Turnbull

Life was starting to reach some sort of normal for those in the Ibican claim. A bar had popped up in the civilian settlement that was now the hotspot for off hour activity, by military and civilians alike.

Concrete has begun to be poured to form the new runway, and activity had increased on the dirt landing strip. A team of civilian construction contractors had arrived to build offices, housing, and a permanent bar in the civilian settlement, contracted by the Department of the Interior.

Due to the influx of civilians, the Territory of Ibican Aquilaria has been officially created, and President Hunter is reviewing choices for a civilian governor.

Permanent structures are starting to be constructed in JB Turnbull, with plans for this base to be the hub of activity for the Ibican Military on the continent, which would lead to the base being quite large in the future.

But for now, the base and town are just an assortment of tents and temporary buildings scattered around a handful of construction sites.

THE UNITED IMPERIAL KINGDOM OF MOUNTAINUS
THE MOUNTAINUSIAN NAVY
FIRST FLEET, EXPEDITION TASK FORCE 1
ABOARD THE MNWS MOUNTAINUS
OFF THE COAST OF NOVA GARRISON
DAY 1 (LANDING DAY)

Admiral Beatrix Rathier stood on the bridge of her air carrier, the MNWS Mountainus. A Tier 2 Admiral in the Mountainusian Navy, she, at the young age of 35, was the youngest admiral, and perhaps the most qualified, to lead any sort of expeditionary task force in the history of Mountainus. She had been recently promoted, from the commanding officer of her vessel, the MNWS Mountainus, to the CO of Expedition Task Force 1. Now, she was about to make history again to be the youngest officer to lead a garrison. Of the several ships in her task force, a few were cargo vessels that belonged to civilian contractors, a handful of destroyers, and two cruisers. There were also numerous helicopters, like the one that she and several of her crew members would be taking to the shore to begin the long process of creating Nova Garrison. The helicopters were prepared, the equipment loaded, and Admiral Rathier and her crew began the short hop to the shoreline.

Upon touchdown, Rathier was the first off, followed by chainsaw-wielding military engineers. The engineers chopped down the nearby trees to clear out a spot for the runway and removed the stumps. The airfield was the number one priority, as without it, nessicary supplies would take longer to reach the base, so that was the first thing fully constructed by the small team of engineers. Needless to say, it was nothing more than a long, flat, dirt surface, barley large enough to land the cargo planes that would service the base, which would arrive tomorrow morning, carrying many more engineers and building supplies. Several more helicopters transferred bits of concrete powder and other building supplies to the site. The engineers began to work through the night to build the base's housing facilities and HQ, which would take at least a good few days. Meanwhile, several scouting missions were launched from the Mountainus to survey the surrounding terrain.

TL DR:
Small, dirt runway built. Barracks and HQ under construction. Survey missions started. Cargo planes coming tomorrow.

Cargo planes coming tomorrow.
usually building an airstrip takes months.

Countesian Settlement Zone
Terra Nova

The landing site of the colonists was abuzz with activity. Every direction was filled the sight and sounds of prefabricated houses being bolted together. Cutting through the middle of it all was a large opening for vehicles to pass by as they carried supplies from the landing craft across the beach and toward the storage facilities. The command centre had already been erected, and a most of the buildings around it were also finished as they had been deemed essential, such as the medical clinic and communication hub. From inside his sparsely furnished office, Jacob Tanner watched hundreds of people go about building their new home.

He turned to the computer which had been set up on his desk. From here he could see the deployments he had already authorised. Out of the 150 marines that had been sent to guard the expedition, he had sent forty soldiers and accompanying transports up north and the same number down south. Both expeditions were tasked with surveying the land, confirming satellite imagery and eventually reaching the waters of the two other major rivers that fell within the boundaries of the settlement zone. The remaining soldiers were either put on guard duty or out helping the colonists.

As the last two major Settlement zones had seen incidents of aggressive natives, Jacob had also brought along a team of indigenous specialists who he hoped would be able to foster relations with any native communities that existed on the claim. He couldn't help but remember the army that confronted them in West Caustoles, so advice had been given to colonist and soldier alike to stay alert. Once he felt his base of operations was at least partially complete and the surrounding lands confirmed as being clear of any potential threats, he would begin sending prospecting teams eastward to investigate the mountains.

OOC: Ima just say the colony countinued
The construction company did it job. The civilians had build the wooden outline of a and gravel roads. The construction company finished the port. One concrete port with some storage! A paved road and they began on building some classic western houses. They prepared them with some concrete underbelly and wood outlines. Also with their new tool the civilians began farming.
