If you don't delete it, your sig will be too long. It's currently 9 lines, and the content under the spoiler is a mess. Store it somewhere else.

interesting—i'll post the extra spoiler in a dispatch of mine, but i've seen nations with more than 9 lines contained under a spoiler and came across this post earlier in the thread:

Your oversized forum signature has required Mod editing. The rule is "8 visible lines, including blank lines." Yours was more than double that. I don't have a quick way to look it up, but I seem to recall that you've been warned on other puppets as well. Follow the rules before you lose sig privileges on ALL your nations

Spoilers count as 1.5-3 lines and lined items, such as boxes and quotes, add one line each for the top and bottom lines. If you need assistance in creating your signature, please visit the Sig Workshop.

I thought BBcode would reduce the amount of lines there was. Sorry about this

I've also never used any other accounts on the forum except Kors.

As you can see, the stuff spoiler isn't in the first line and just looks bad, so I wanted to know if there was a way to make the stuff spoiler on the same height as the Info spoiler.

Float tags have very specific rules. IT has to be set up as [float][float][align]. Yours had the second float in the trailing position. You also don't need more than one set of align tags, and your {pre} should always be the last thing in your sig, as they always add useless blank lines.

On mobile, my length is 7 but on PC my length is clearly 4-5. I made the same mistake reporting Lescaaris' Sig.

Again, I point out that in its current configuration, the spoiler counts as two lines. The [pre] block counts as three. Add that to the two normal lines, and it's seven on a PC, which I'm looking at right now.

It's currently legal, but please stop trying to tell me that 5=7. That math doesn't work.

Hi there. Since this is my third time getting my sig moderated for being too long, I suppose it might be good that I come here and get some help.

I have here the info I want to place in:

OOC Info
IC info
Flag Dragon Name

I'm not too sure, however, how I can format it. I tried moving spoilers to both sides for OOC and IC, but one ended up being lower than the other. On top of that, I don't know how much my formatting could cost me.

How stringent is this limit? I noticed that the forums doesn't automatically reject it so it's not a hard-coded limit, but will Moderation go through the effort of finding how many characters a signature has? Or is this purely so that people don't stuff several links/gradient text in their signatures, seeing as these two BBcode types would need the most characters?

It actually is hard coded, but it doesn't include most formatting codes. I say 'most' because sometimes it doesn't seem to count [float] tags , and spoiler names behave in an irrational manner (i.e. add one character and the count goes up by 3-8).

The mods who work on sigs concern themselves only with the line count. I will point out that using all 800 characters without putting them under spoilers makes for a heavy and unwieldy signature ... and even spoiled, it's a lot of info.

Remember, it's a sig under EVERY post, not a novella about your massive roleplay or regional history. You'd usually be better off posting that content in a dispatch and just putting a simple link in your sig.

I was thinking less of actual text to read and more of just BBcode graphic design choices, e.g. a gradient, like: $1$2$3$4$5$6$7$8$9$10$11$12$13$14$15$16$17$18$19$20. It's barely any visual characters, but it is 511 characters. Albeit, you did say "it doesn't include most formatting codes," so this more or less answers my initial intent of whether "stuff[ing] several links/gradient text" would breach the character limit.

To vouch and add non-modly info a little, I have said before about my sig being super long in terms of character count, and how I just kept going. It currently comes at 4530 characters, including the BBCodes! Nearly 6 times the limit.

My current sig, without that single spoiler keeping it neat, would come to a sprawling and eye-assaulting 17 lines!

I liked the tables with spoilers that I used to have that outlined all the championships I won in NS Sports, but even that was starting to get close to character limits.

I created a post with my entire list of sporting honours and created a link to that. It does the job without assaulting eyes. Unless, of course, yours is a country that lost to me.
