- As The Onigiri Enclave is a Direct Democracy, where outside of regulatory agencies to enforce the laws & a skeleton legislative branch largely working in tandem with the Supreme Court to help interpret the law and override the vetoes of our executive leader, El Presidente Lord Nanfoodle, all citizens can vote on any legislation as easily as one would vote for their favorite performer on one of those singing/talent reality contest shows, with all people who earn less than 10,000,000 Turds a years getting two votes every bill, while all who earn more than 10,000,000 Turds have one vote, and those that earn EXACTLY 10,000,000 Turds on the spot get three votes per bill, as a means to prevent an oligarchical tyranny by minority. Lobbying is also illegal in The Onigiri Enclave. This, combined with term limits on all offices has largely mitigated corruption in our politics.
- Most Onigiri political values favor progressive, liberal, left-leaning philosophies, though certain popular concepts of ours including the "Do-Over Exception" and the punishments that can follow for repeat offenders came from right-leaning sources.
- The Onigiri Enclave has minimal immigration laws and enforcement, is welcoming of all people, human or otherwise, from all backgrounds, and has severe penalties for discrimination and bigotry.
- The Onigiri Enclave strives for a fine balance between a free market and state-ran business in order to promote a combination of healthy competition and accessibility to goods.
- Outside of police and airline pilots that can be called up for service in cases of extreme emergency, the entirety of The Onigiri Enclave's physical military is voluntary. In fact, our entire military only consists of 47 people, only 7 of which are active combat personnel (the other 40 being researchers, lab techs, IT engineers, mechanics, and programmers). in fact, our entire navy and air force is fully automated and AI controlled.
- The Onigiri Enclave mostly strives resolve conflict peacefully, but in instances where violence is the only solution, we apply the philosophies of King Kamehameha of Hawaii to our foes - savage brutality to enemy combatants, absolute mercy to the citizenry. This is largely helped by our use of smart weapons, advanced surveillance, and also our typical opening gambit is to blanket the target nation in nanomachines which we use to remotely explode the heads of attackers.
- While disdaining conflict, The Onigiri Enclave understands they cannot exist wholly closed off to the plights of the world, so we elect to engage if necessary. Often this means humanitarian aid, sending medical ambassadors, and stabilizing floundering economies. But if military force is needed... well, see above about the whole exploding heads bit.
