Let’s get this party started!

With 111 beach-goers currently, we’re finally ready to kick off our event and start earning those team points!

Today is our very first day of events so that means we've got a lot going on and team points have officially started. Earn these shiny team points through things like:

-Playing the first 24 hour round of IO games, starting off with tetr.io down in the Arcade

-Writing a note of encouragement or positivity to someone in Message In a Bottle that will be open the entire event

-Participating in the Wargames that will start this coming minor update (12 PM EDT, 16:00 UTC)

-Going on a Treasure Hunt with the wonderful Wischland starting at 9 AM EDT / 13:00 UTC

-And, of course, the Card Collection Competition and Nation Creation Contest are now close for signups and have officially begun! This means you can start farming those cards and awaiting the ban hammer from now on

We'll also be having a **Moana Movie Night** tonight at 6 PM EDT / 22:00 UTC, so prepare your popcorn and bring fuzzy blankets!

Good luck to you all, and may the best team win!

First Point Update

As we close out our first day, things have gotten interested as each team seemed to flex for points in different areas...

- Our Dancing Dolphins reached for the long-term investments of the Nation Creation and Card Collection, fielding 6 out of 8 card farmers in the Card Competition and 18 out of 42 competitors in the Nation Creation Contest

- The Jumping Jellyfish went hard for Tetr.io and Message In a Bottle, with Honeydewstania and Valentian Elysium bringing home 100 points between themselves in warm and positive messages

- Finally, the Sassy Sea Turtles went out hard at minor update in the Wargames to bring a hefty 24 out of 30 regions under their control combined with a team campaign for Tetr.io to snatch 2nd place from the Dolphins at the last moment

Current Scoreboard:
1. Jumping Jellyfish - 252 points
2. Sassy Sea Turtles - 205 points
3. Dancing Dolphins - 185 points

What comes tomorrow?

- The next 24 hour IO game round has been posted down in The Arcade with Slither.io

- We'll be hosting a Skribbl.io game at 3 PM EDT / 19:00 UTC, which gives 5 participation points for playing a full round

- A multiplayer Tetr.io competition will be at 6 PM EDT / 22:00 UTC for all of you that want to face off after comparing scores all day today (and obviously 15 points to the winner)

And, of course, a continuation of all other long term events like the Wargames, Treasure Hunt, Card Competition, and Nation Creation Contest

Almost done - Points Update!

As we reach our second to last day tomorrow, some clear divisions have appeared in our scoreboard. It's hard to predict how the long-term points will shake out, however, a sizable lead has developed for 1st place while the chase for 2nd narrows!

Current Scoreboard
1. Sassy Sea Turtles - 776 points
2. Jumping Jellyfish - 551 points
3. Dancing Dolphins - 515 points

Plans for tomorrow:

- 24 hours of Agar.io down in #the-arcade

- The end of Wargames following the end of minor update tomorrow (Aug 1), meaning you have one last push to steal other team's regions!

- A Jackbox or Gartic Phone game at 4 PM EDT / 20:00 UTC that *might* become Gartic Phone due to popularity (see #the-arcade strawpoll)

- One last movie night with Lilo & Stitch at 6 PM EDT / 22:00 UTC

Small stats as we near our end:

- 122 beachgoers who are most likely sunburnt by now

- 96 adorable and heartwarming messages of kindness to others

- Uncountable Tetris games lost to Roavin or Mira

Final Points Results

The final points are in and hundreds upon hundreds of points from all of you have been tallied over the last week or so. We've seen near misses for 1st and tight races for 2nd and 3rd on different days, but I can confidently say that there is no question which team walked away victorious in the end!

While the Dancing Dolphins and Jumping Jellyfish went out strong, the Dolphins with long-term point investment and the Jellyfish with mini-games, it was not enough in the end to stop the sheer determination of the Sassy Sea Turtles. The Sea Turtles drove hard with individual participation in nearly all events, and it brought them a staggering 1685 points in the end

Current Scoreboard
1. Sassy Sea Turtles - 1685 points
2. Dancing Dolphins - 1456 points
3. Jumping Jellyfish - 851 points

Congratulations to the Sassy Sea Turtles for claiming victory at the Summer Beach Bash!

In Review:
- 306 positive messages washed up in the #message-in-a-bottle
- You all played at least 120 individual IO games in #the-arcade
- There were 119 sunburnt beach-goers in total

I sincerely hope you all had a good time at our events over the last week, and thank you all for coming! Creating a festival like this is always a labor of love, but there's nothing more rewarding than seeing how much enjoyment it can bring to others. That being said, please give your Lifeguards lots of love for their role in making this event a reality and all of this possible

Based on what I see when I backread channels in the morning, he won't be doing that for 3 hours or so most likely.

Anyway, was a great festival! Thanks to all those who organized it.
