The Opportunity Station is a project proposed by the Ibican Space Administration to have a permanent, crewed outpost in orbit around Terra. The station is intended to act as a stepping point for further human exploration of the cosmos and to provide a research base beyond the constraints of a terrestrial setting.
This is not however intended to be solely a venture of the ISA, but an international endeavour. While existing international partners of Ibica may be invited, any nation is welcome to apply to participate in the program. This participation can range anywhere from manufacturing and providing modules of the station, providing station maintenance or supplies, providing astronauts to man the station, or providing spacecraft to get payloads to and from the station.
The station's preliminary design provides for space for 32 stationed staff at a time, 4 docking ports, an additional airlock dedicated to Extravehicular Activities (EVA), and space for many research stations, power generation, a module dedicated to recreation for stationed astronauts, and a module dedicated to plant research.
