Athearan League 1

After much and thorough consideration, Athearan League 1 Director Jose Anderwitdz finally decided to open up the Athearan League 1 to the multi-verse. The League 1 had been running since 1960, starting out with only 10 clubs, then slowly growing into 18 and 3 leagues, with 18 teams each. The League had originally opposed the idea of Atheara playing to other universes, but with how well Atheara has been received by the international community, the Direct Board had to open up.

Before the plan of opening the League 1, the final matchday had ended for the season, with AFC Fallstead somehow clinching the title after a 3-3 draw with the top club in Atheara, the Astena Rangers. Ending a 4 year dominance, where the Rangers won the League 4 times. Athearan clubs generally are usually defensive, with offensive based teams rarely getting far in the League. The big 6 of Atheara are the Astena Rangers, Bayerstrome SC, Real Kazatia, Harindar SC, Neidegrad United, and Neidegrad City.

At the end of the season, 4 clubs were relegated, and 4 clubs were promoted. To further the concept, the 4 teams at the bottom of the League has a chance to stay in the League, if they beat the lower League side. Champion of League 2 fight 18th spot. 2nd of L2 fight 17th of L1, and so forth. The relegated ones were Lesser Fordia FC, Gruttenwald United, SC Estria, and Parkenheight FC. The 4 promoted clubs were Real Nova, FC Fikares, AFC Rekozia, and Sisalena United. The League 2 Director, Parker Winderhosen, had no choice but to agree.

What Is Going On In The League?

Type: Review
Time: After MD 10

Today i want to review the current standings of League 1, and League 2. And also to answer a few questions many people could be asking. Nothing specific, since i don't know what everyone is think about the League at the same time, but at least i can clear some things up. And also, to summarise, this is the first time the League is being shown Internationally. And first, i want you to see the League 1 table.

If you don't know how the standings work, basically the Champion of the League will be able to play in the next Champions League. And the rest of the Top 4 will be able to play in the Champions Cup (Now that you ask me, i myself still don't know much). And the weird thing is, AFC Rekozia, whom were just promoted to League 1 last season after beating Lesser Fordia FC, have a 5 point gap from FC Deskala. Yes, you are not dreaming this. And crazy thing is, none of Atheara's "Big Six" are even in the Top 4! Yes, this is insanity!

Sure, Neidegrad United are close by, but that is only by Goal Difference. And the Rangers are ninth! Surely not a dream? Yes, this is reality. If this continues, Atheara will be likely sending many underdog sides to the International competitions, not that i dislike it. I like seeing underdogs going out and showing what they have to face up against the top dogs. Now, i think i should be answering some questions the fans have!

Why is there no Cup for Atheara?
You see, a "Cup" does exist, just works differently. The Top 8 of League 1 and the Top 4 of League 2 would be fighting it all out at the end of the season, for a chance to win some silverware. The Top 4 immediately pass through to the next round. The Champion of League 2 fight 8th seed. 2nd in L2 fight 7th in L1, and so forth. The 1st in L2 vs the 8th in L1, and whoever goes through faces whoever finishes 4th in L1. This pattern goes for every other side, and this system also complies with the "3 round" rule, where the Cup needs to be at least 3 rounds long (i think?).

Could you explain the Promotion/Relegation system in Atheara?
The Promotion/Relegation system works in a unique and interesting way. Basically there is a chance for 4 teams to be promoted and relegated, by a playoff. The Top 4 of League 2 also fight the bottom 4 of League 1. The higher your standing in L2, the easier you opponent is from L1. Champion fights 18th seed, 2nd fights 17th, 3rd fights 16th, and 4th fights 16th seed. And it's one game, and just one game only. No second chances, unlike most other leagues.

What happened to the League 3?
About League 3, the AFA is actually discussing on whether the League 3 should be disbanded, as they lose more than they gain, in terms of revenue. There have been rumours that the League 3 is also facing difficulties in terms of "International Standards" or whatever the AFA is discussing about. Go complain to them, not me. I have nothing related to them, but i am sure i would do slightly better at this.

Why are there some clubs that use the name "Real"?
Oh, that. As many know, the name "Real" means Royal in Spanish and is usually only used in Spanish speaking clubs (does that make sense?). Not true for this case. Real Nova and Real Kazatia used to be one club, named "Real Noveza" that was formed back in 1965. But, many of the associates were unhappy at the management, so, the association split. And in turn, the club split as well. The original side renamed themselves to "Real Nova" and the rebellious side named themselves "Real Kazatia", oh, and as for the name "Real" the founder of the association was Olehandro Feretez, a Spanishman himself, which is why the clubs use the name "Real".

Why are some clubs hated more than others?
There are plentiful reasons why. Neidegrad City receive extensial financial funding, which many people say that breaks the "Financial Fair Play" rule (which is just the Manchester City scenario, irl). Real Kazatia because of, as mentioned, disuniting Real Noveza. For League 2 clubs, the Aphilists, Nipherists, and Saints are hated because of their relations to religious associations. There are many more, but those are some of the larger and more noticable examples on why some clubs are hated.

When The Time To Break A New

Alright. This is the time. I have huge news, both good and bad, in a way. Depending on your affiliation in the League, of course. The bad news is, it's confirmed. The League 3 will be disbanded. For the fans of League 3, this is very saddening, i know. And i shall be sorry for your losses. However, i am a man of neutral ground, and i do see clear reasoning on why the L3 will be disbanded. It's not to say i support the disbanding, however, i just see and respect why the AFA is deciding this. Just to be clear, i am also saddened by it.

Now, for the good news. The League season is coming to a close, which means who will be participating in the next Champions League and Champions Cup (I still don't know which is which, for real)! The Athearan Cup, or as many here in Atheara call it, the Athearan Championship, will also be beginning! I don't know what do you guys think, and who you all think will be winning, but i have one clear thing to say. The Championship this time around will be interesting, no doubt about it.

And also, as you see on the tables, coloring is now on! This is so you can see better on the current CL and ChC positions! They will be there for Matchday 28 - 34. Every season, every time. And as you all know, i will tell you the colors. The light green at the top is crowned League Champion and also gives you a CL spot! The more natural looking green are positions for the Champions Cup (i think?)! And the more lime looking green gives you Championships play-off spots. The Top 4 also get a free pass to the next round. At the bottom, the red indicates who will have to face relegation play-offs! And the gold looking green in L2 show who will have the chance to get into L1 by playing the L1 relegation candidates! This is going to be very interesting.

And with this, the Astena Rangers win the Championship! Coming back from being mid table is difficult, you know? The Rangers are the top club in Atheara, well, one of the top clubs at least. Congratulations to them. I mean they do deserve it in a way, not winning the League last season, getting knocked out in the Semi Finals in the Championship, they deserve this victory as a returning statement.

Athearan Super League, the Overview
So, you are a fan of Athearan football. And you keep hearing rumors of a so called "Athearan Super League" currently in it's final tweaks. Now, you are youself bamboozled and confused, why change the format? No one knows why. But, it might be because official director Jose (he changed his name to Marcoletz, again) wanted Atheara to have more football. And this is one of the few ways it's clausible and possible. Today, i shall explain to you what the Athearan Super League will be in Atheara.

The Athearan Super League will be the only top flight division of Athearan football. No relegation and promotion, the League will feature 36 teams from the former League 1 and League 2 sides with a monstrous 70 day matchday format. Rumours are that there will be changes to the Athearan Championship as well, and possibly a third first half season cup to determine a Cup Winners Cup spot for future seasons. You may as well be confused and shocked by this information, but what i am saying is currently what we know, there might be a few tweaks in the future. No one really knows, but this might be the final draft of the ASL, and in my opinion it doesn't need tweaks, so here it is.

1. First Half Season Cup
It is planned that a first half season cup will be hosted, along the ASL whilst it's running. Plans are for 4 groups of 9 (4x9) format to be used, with the Top 2 of each group qualifying to the quarterfinals of this cup, with a one leg match after the group stages. The group stage which has been decided as a single round robin. It's a pretty self straight forward format. The winner of this Cup will be sent to future Cup Winners Cup competitions, if this format is accepted for entry to the Cup Winners Cup anyway.

2. The League
The League in itself will not have any changes, and will mostly stay the same. The major difference will only be the amount of games Athearan teams will have to play, but gaps in matchdays will assume players will earn and get breaks to mantain form for the League to consistently run . The Champion of the League will be sent to the Champions League as usual, and the Top 4 excluding the Champion of the League will be sent to the Challengers Cup.

3. The Championship
The Championship will several have major changes. Only the Top 16 teams will qualify for the Championship, split by 4 pots for 4 teams each depending on table finish. Then a 4x4 single/double round robin will be played. The Top 2 seeds qualify to face eachother in the quarterfinals with 2nd place finishers facing 1st place finishers with no group rematches with a single leg playoff match until the final. Keeping it similar to the last season's Championship yet adding something new.

So, there we have it. We have what we know how the new ASL will work, and the two cup competitions. Let's hope it will be successful once it is put into action. Let's just wait until it starts. And also, the ASL now has an official logo for use(OOC: Credits to Txakhaxi a.k.a Tiog!).

First Half Season Cup Cancelled, Certain League Rules, Team Overviews: Part 1
News have come about of the Athearan Super League, as the original plan for a first half season cup to send one team to the Cup Winners Cup has been cancelled! Apparently due to the risk of terrible scheduling mistakes, Athearan Football Association (AFA) Director Jose (wait what name did he change to now?) decided to have a vote to just cancel this cup entirely. I mean, it does look quite reasonable to a management perspective. Not only that, apparently, the ASL will not be starting after Atheara is eliminated from the Cup of Harmony, but will start at an early notice, maybe once the team overviews are all up and running. But wait a minute! The team overviews are now!

But wait! Before we get into the team overviews, new information has also spewed upon us. The Athearan Football Association will be imposing certain odd rules, which might not be odd to outside spectators, onto the Athearan Super League. These rules are to ensure maximum fairness in matches between teams. What are those rules you may ask? Well, not much. But you need to remember that rules, though how little, many, major or minor they seem to be, are still rules. Though it seems like this is an actual declaration and not just a small manual of rules imposed by the AFA. It also covers extra information not yet released. Where is it? Here it is, and it's free to read, right here on ASON.

The 1st Declaration of the AFA

The 1st Declaration of the AFA is a means to ensure the fairness of the game of football within the Athearan Super League. It is, as a means to declare several AFA Council approved rules, to which will ensure the fairness of Athearan football. This declaration will cover rules of the Athearan Super League (and it's competitions) as a whole, the clubs, and most importantly, the players. Not only to ensure fairness, these rules are also to ensure that no conflict may spew forth between fans, especially in derbies between the Astena Rangers vs Astena Guards, Neidegrad City vs Neidegrad United, Real Nova vs Real Kazatia, and Harindar City vs Harindar SC. Despite the fact that no conflict has ensued ever since the start of the predecessors of the ASL (The League 1 and League 2) have been aired internationally, and despite the fact that predictions state that it is a 96.78% chance that no conflict will happen in one season.

And with that, the general broad opening of this declaration has been said. This declaration, as said on the third line, will cover rules of the Athearan Super League as a whole, the clubs, and the players. Not only that, but also penalties and exceptions if ever so needed.

I. The Athearan Super League
A. The Athearan Super League (ASL), is the official top footballing flight for Athearan football. The ASL contains a total of 36 teams, which will contain a maximum total of 70 matchdays. The league was formed by merging the two predecessors of the ASL, also formerly known as the League 1 and League 2 into one "super league" after just the first debut and internationally aired season. The champion of the ASL will be eligible to enter the IFCF Champions League and the CAFA LigAnaia, and the Top 3 of the ASL (which excluding the champion) shall be eligible for the IFCF Challengers Cup.
B. The Athearan Championship (A-C) is the top cup competition which falls under the "Competitions" sector of the Athearan Super League. The A-Champ is played after the regular season ends, where the Top 16 of the League may qualify. These 16 teams are then split into 4 pots, which will then be the deciding factor on which group they land in. The groups will be determined by roll of dice. All top 4 teams however are placed in the group corresponding to their league finish (the champion will be placed in Group A, the 2nd placed team will be placed in Group B, and so forth). The format is a double round robin in a 4x4 group stage format. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify to the quarterfinals, where 1st placed teams must face 2nd placed teams (this rule only applies to this part of the tournament a.e the quarterfinals). All matches (quarterfinals up to the finals) will be a one legged afair. The winner of the A-C will be eligible to play for the CAFA LigAnaia.
C. The Republics Cup will (Rep. Cup) is a pre-season cup tournament which falls into the "Competitions" sector of the Athearan Super League which is played between the league champion of last season and the cup winner of last season on a third neutral venue. The Rep. Cup will be acting as the new third tournament that shall be installed into top Athearan flight football, replacing the scrapped "first half season cup."

I/E,S. The Athearan Super League
A (A). If at any point in the future where Atheara reaches a certain rank in the IFCF coefficients, Atheara may expand the amount of teams that can be sent to the IFCF Champions League or IFCF Challengers Cup.
B (B). If in any possible chance that the champion of the A-C is already the league champion whom are automatically granted a CAFA LigAnaia spot, the second best team that finished in the league will earn the granted right to participate in the CAFA LigAnaia.
C (C). The Republics Cup will not be hosted until next season.

II. The Clubs
A. Every club whom are participating within the Athearan Super League are required to have these listed facilities:
- Home Stadium
- Training Arena
- Rehab Facility
- Living Grounds (For Players)
- Management Building
- Medical Building
B. Players whom are playing under a certain club, must have an existing copy of their contract. Whether the copy of the player contract is stored as a real life object or a file on a computer, it is completely up to the club. As long as the contract exists in any sort of shape or form, the player may continue to play for the club that they have signed for.
C. For a club to sign a player, they must make sure that:
- The club are able to afford the wages requested by that player when asked (Negotiable)
- The club are willing to supply the player with basic living facilities and needs (Non-Negotiable)
- The club agrees to the player terms and conditions given by the player or agent (Negotiable)
- The player agrees to the club terms and conditions given by the club (Negotiable)
- The player is willing to sign the contract.
- The player has their human rights kept.
D. As for the contract itself, there are certain rules that ring around to it as well:
- The maximum time a player can sign to a contract is 6 years.
- The minimum time a player has to wait to negotiate a new contract is 5 years.
- The minimum time a club has to wait to terminate a player contract is 3 years.
- The maximum amount of clauses a player can have in their contract is 4 clauses.
- The maximum amount of bonuses a player can have in their contract is 1 bonus.
E. For the amount of players on the field are the same internationally, it is different in Atheara for the bench. The substitute bench at all times must have at the very most a maximum of 8 players during an entire match. One substitute who is on the bench must be a goalkeeper.

II/E,S. The Clubs
A (A). If at any moment that these buildings are not available for club use, the closest private or public property outside the entire team complex (excluding the stadium) will be allowed for that team to use. If a team's home stadium is not available for use, for whatever reason, that team will play their home games in a third neutral venue for the time that the stadium is used until it can be used again, or until the end of the season (if the stadium for whatever reason becomes unavailable for the rest of the season).
B (A). If for somehow and for some reason a club which is participating in the Athearan Super League does not have one of the listed facilities, they must start the construction or reconstruction of that facility. If not, they will earn a one season ban from playing in the ASL.
C (B). If the copy of a player's contract does not exist or somehow ceased/ceases to exist in any shape or form, that club and player has two months to re-sort the contract properly, before the player will be terminated from that club and become a free agent (in short, become uneligible to play for that club). If it is revealed that a player has never signed a contract for a club yet either plays or claims to play for one, that player will immediately be terminated from that club and become a free agent.
D (C). If the club or player cannot fulfill one of the terms listed, then that club is not eligible to sign that player/that player is not eligible to sign for the club they would have signed for if they fulfilled their terms.
E (D). If either the player or club tries to break one of the listed rules about a player's contract (excluding the first one), that player/club will be punished depending on how the severity of the rule was breaken, when it was broken, and several more factors. However, some players/clubs will be given certain loopholes depending on their condition and situation.
F (E). If at any moment a player who is listed on the bench does not show up to the match, a reserve player may be called up to replace that player on the bench. This can be done a maximum of 3 times for 3 players, and the player who originally did not show up shall be punished depending on whether this is a first time offense or a repeated offense.

III. The Players
A. For a player to play a match, they must make sure that they are:
- Stated by the club that they are on the first 11 or the substitute bench.
- Not be suspended by any red card bookings or by the club itself.
- Not be consuming any drugs before the start of the match.
- Not be injured in any physical or psychological shape or form.
- Appear at the stadium so that they play in the match.
B. A player must be scanned and tested for any consumption of drugs and must have done a full body inspection before entering their locker room, as to ensure the safety and the absolute wellbeing of the players in the room. Inspections and body scans will be done one by one, as to ensure that no player will have their results known by the other players/their teammates or so that one player may not know another's results, as a right to privacy.
C. For a player to sign a contract with a club, not only they must follow player terms from part C of Sector II, they also must:
- Not have any psychological, mental, or physical condition which might interrupt the player.
- Not have any major criminal history/criminal linkings.
- Be over 16 years of age, as no minor (Under 16 is considered minor in Atheara) can have a professional contract.
- Be allowed to play football, in legal terms and conditions.

III/E,S. The Players
A (A). As stated by part F of E,S of Sector II, "If at any moment a player who is listed on the bench does not show up to the match, a reserve player may be called up to replace that player on the bench." This largely means a reserve player could possibly appear in a match, if the first mentioned player who was mentioned of being part of the starting 11 or substitute bench doesn't show up. However, these reserve turned into starting players must also follow the remaining rules stated in part A of Sector III, if they do not fill these quotas, then they are still not allowed to play.
B (A). Some types of injuries are excluded from "Not be injured in any physical or psychological shape or form." These include any injuries to the mouth (As the mouth has no value when it comes to performance on the pitch, excluding the captain of the team), injuries to the hands (This does not include goalkeepers, but this also needs a medical review and depending on the type of injury), and many other types of injuries that does not hinder the player's performance.
C (A). Any player who is somehow found that they are taking drugs will be heavily punished by a 4 - 16 game ban depending on the drug type and how many drugs were taken, a heavy fine up to 50.000 - 180.000 Arthertas depending on several factors, and will be heavily monitored (The reason why arrestment is not a punishment is because drugs are legal in Atheara).
D (A). Any reserve player called up to replace the spot of one player whom did not show up, stated in part A of this Sector, has a total of 15 minutes to show up to the stadium (If it is a home game) and a total of 2 hours max if it's an away game. If no reserve player can come in time, no reserve player will be called up to replace the missing player (If the missing player is part of the starting 11, a player listed on the substitute bench may take his place).
E (B). If a player is found out that they have been taking drugs during the drug test, they will be immediately punished (See part C of this Sector for punishments) with the listed punishments. As for any player whom is found out to carry weapons, they will either be handed a suspension of 2 - 8 games, fined 5.000 - 16.000 Arthertas or be immediately arrested for 2 - 4 years (Unless they have registered themselves for a guns license, and if the gun is within Athearan legal terms).
F (B). If a player somehow founds out about other players test results without those players permissions, they will be fined with a total of 4.000 - 12.000 Arthertas depending on several factors, and a 4 - 6 game suspension from playing also depending on a few notable factors.
G (C). Several conditions are also excluded (Just like injuries) from "Not have any psychological, mental, or physical condition which might interrupt the player." in part C of Sector III. The non-existance of one of your hands is an example. Other conditions that are excluded are deafness, being unable to speak, and several other physical, mental, or psychological conditions.
H (C). If the player in the past was linked with any criminal organization or has been convicted of a crime, they cannot have a professional contract (Unless it has been 4 years or over that time since the crime). If a foreign player wants to sign for an Athearan club, they must be over 16 for a professional contract (If not, they will be put in the Academy until they are 16 or older). Players also cannot sign a contract if they have a restraining order from football, they must wait until the restraint order is expired or finished.

With the information revealed that the Athearan Super League will begin after the end of the Cup of Harmony group stage, everyone has become quite hopeful. The Expected and Guessed Top 5
With the ASL that recently kicked off, and the fact that some teams have volunteered to send a few of their star players and their academy players for the CAFA 2, Athearans wonder how the top 5 would mould into place. With high hopes and expectations that the Astena Rangers would win the league, Rekozia and Sisalena showing to be actual threats, people make their own guesses for their top 5. Well, today is different. Today we have read several voting polls on who will make it to the top 5, and there are many peculiar and interesting choices the fans have made so early in the season! Let's take a look, shall we? (We are not responsible for gambling in this voting poll, please seek mental care if you have been gambling irresponsibly).

1. Astena Rangers
Of course, it's no surprise. For an odd reason, everyone either loves or respects the Rangers. With new goalkeeper Chester Miller so far only conceding one goal in five games, and Kellie Wade proving to be a valuable asset for the Rangers, it may as seem that the Rangers are planning and/or scheming to win the league like last time. However, there are suspicions of match fixing, but these accusations have been reported as false by the police and critical media. What are the Astena Rangers up to, considering they let go their former goalkeeper Mugel Krygorf?

2. Neidegrad City
The coherrently and so called "oil club" of Atheara. Fans guess that they could finish 2nd in the best case scenario. Young Farf striker Ôrelí Nòrgâ is settling well with Athearan forward Luis Frawning, and Osaki Tokimune is also settling well in the midfield. The question for this Neidegrad club is not how much they spent, since they literally did not make any single bet for any player in the transfer market and picked up the two afformentioned players. The question is... "How far can Neidegrad City go to challenge the Astena Rangers for the title they crave?"

3. Sisalena United or AFC Rekozia
Sisalena United were quite the peculiar challengers for the top brass of the table last season, and AFC Rekozia were in the running for the title last season, until the Astena Rangers of course made the comeback. The largest factor for Sisalena is that they have young CDM Hideyoshi Kamahira. But, for Rekozia, their morale boost after having in the last WCQ cycle where they had some of their players picked from the NT, and that their stadium was home grounds for Atheara's WCQ this season... The opinions are split. Maybe a scrum debate could finish this, situation.

4. Mugendar City or Astena Guards
Mugendar City had a good advantage over the Astena Guards until they voluntarily sent John Harper for the Athearan National Team to participate in CAFA 2. Meanwhile, Krusser Isles is starting to find his form ever since that unfortunate game where he conceded the infamous seven goals. 5. FC Deskala
FC Deskala have actaully been struggling for a bit, considering that they finished 4th in the last season. They wouldn't even get Challengers Cup football if they finish 5th. Their defense has been spot on. However, Deskala's offense is the main problem here. Only four goals in five games... and with a 3 - 1 - 1 record, it actually doesn't seem too bad. The main challenge for Deskala is the offense as mentioned, but also maybe the fact that Deskala has a bit of an aging squad. Will Deskala find the proper strength to carry their stars to the top for one more time before waning?
